Symptoms consistent with TSB 19-2346 for 2.0L EcoBoost engines: coolant in cylinders, white exhaust smoke and check engine light is on. I have to keep topping off the coolant weekly, engine light comes and goes with same errors. Went to a general mechanic who got error codes PO301-00 AND PO316-00. Currently scheduled next week to see an engine mechanic. Available for inspection upon request. Has not put us in danger yet but is of major concern due to potential for failure, so we are having it seen to ASAP. We don't have a Ford dealership so nearby to go out there with a failing car just to have them verify that yes that is the issue and yes it will be a very expensive repair we could not afford if we did it with them. Despite very low mileage it is still past warranty date, so any goodwill would have to come after we go through the trouble of bringing our vehicle in and hoping for the best. We called and they couldn't even provide any kind of ballpark likelyhood of goodwill.
THE REAR-VIEW CAMERA MALFUNCTIONS AT TIMES & DISPLAYS A BLUE SCREEN ON THE IN-CAR MONITOR THAT STATES "CAMERA UNAVAILABLE". OTHER TIMES THE IMAGE IN THE MONITOR WILL BE WAVY. THIS PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE EXACERBATED BY WARMER TEMPERATURES. THIS PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN INSPECTED BY ANYONE.
Within 4 months, I’ve spent $12k on transmission replacement (refurb.) (Metallics in the fluid), Fuel injectors, etc. The check engine light is still on…Now Im told that coolant is leaking into my engine, and the engine needs replaced! (Coolant intrusion) Another $9k for parts and labor! i just paid the car off! Ive kept up with repairs and service! Ive done everything the dealer has suggested…except replace the engine! I’m still recovering from the cost of the transmission! The 2017 Lincoln MKC with a 2.0L EcoBoost engine has a known defect where coolant leaks into the engine cylinders, often causing misfires, overheating, or engine failure. This issue, linked to faulty engine block and cylinder head design, typically requires engine replacement ($5,000-$9,500). Ford issued TSB 22-2229 but no recall. A class-action lawsuit is ongoing. Check warranty status; report to NHTSA.
DearNHTSA, My rear camera is not working properly on my 2017 Lincoln MKC. I reported this incident to you earlier this month. As of yesterday Wednesday May 28, 2025 WXYZ NEWS IN DETROIT, stated a recall on rear view cameras. I truly hope my car will be included in the recall. Thank you very much!
The rear backup camera nor working properly (show no lines and display the opposite sides)
The rear camera sometimes goes out when the car is in reverse and the screen goes dark. After the car is placed in drive an error message appears that states the camera is unavailable. Now happens almost every time the time the car is placed in reverse.
Water is in spare tire well.
Vacuum pump, 2.3 ecoturbo charger not available for inspection. Dealer in ND replaced vacuum pump twice and car ran worse than when I brought it in so they then decided it was the turbocharger and replaced it. My check engine light and ABS light were on. Could not drive over 55 mph and was on highway when lost power and slowed way down significantly with traffic congested. Had to pull off to side. Thick Smoking from tailpipe they said oil got lnto the catalytic convertor it would eventually wear off and ok to drive. Took to different dealer and they replaced the vacuum pump again (this was the 3rd one)it has 73000 miles on it. I Drove for 20000 without trouble. Now I'm at dealership in TN and they are replacing the entire engine. Without any help from Lincoln and the car has 91000 miles on it
We tried calling the dealers they stated they are not able to fix it and don't know whe. They will. The back up camera starts shutting off ,going black while reversing. Lights inside car while driving will shut off. It has been happening since 2022 recently 2 weeks ago
Back up camera failure and problems updating sync module
I contacted the dealer for my recall repair. They advised there is a 200 person waiting list and they are only permitted to order 4 parts per week. At this rate, it will be almost a year before my vehicle is fixed. NHTSA requested to know if there were issues getting this part fixed - yes, there are issues. Thank you.
The head gasket leaked resulting in having to put in an entirely new engine. The dealer suggested that this was a known issue and that the gasket breaks in the corner. After the replacement, I was told that the manufacturer improved the gasket and I should not see this issue happen again. When the gasket blew, there was an immediate loss of power going down the expressway.
Back up rear camera completely blacked out while I was back in up. The alarm did not alarm and a vehicle almost hit me.
Lug nuts are swollen. Doesn’t even have 33,000 miles on my vehicle.
THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THEN THE VEHICLE STARTED TO LOSE POWER
A POPPING SOUND OCCURS IN THE BACK ROOF AREA WHEN THE DOOR IS OPEN "WAKE UP EVENT" AND EVEN WHEN THE TAILGATE IS OPEN. AFTER THE POPPING SOUND, THE WARNING SOUND FOR THE CLOSING TAILGATE DOES NOT SOUND. MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. THIS CAR HAS BEEN IN FOR REPAIR 5 TIMES WITHOUT RESOLUTION. SUBWOOFER, LATCH REGULATOR, LATCH AND THE TAILGATE SHOCKS HAVE ALL BEEN REPLACED. THIS OCCURS WITH AUDIO OFF AND WHEN THE CAR IS OFF UPON ENTERING THE CAR. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN REPORT SINCE FIRST OIL CHANGE

I RECENTLY LEASED A FORD MKC. IT CAME EQUIPPED WITH SIDE VIEW MIRRORS THAT WOULD AUTOMATICALLY FOLD IN WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS CLOSE ENOUGH TO AN OBJECT WHERE YOU COULD GET CLOSER FOR CONVIENENCE. A GOOD EXAMPLE IS WHEN YOU GO THROUGH A CAR WASH AND THE SIDE MIRRORS FORD IN SO THEY DO OT GET DAMAGED DURING THE CAR WASH. IF A PERSON FORGETS TO PRESS THE BOTTON TO HAVE THE MIRRORS SWING BACK OUT SO A PERSON CAN DRIVE SAFELY THAT DOES NOT OCCUR AUTOMATICALLY. IN ESSENSE THOSE MIRRORS ARE CLOSED AND I COULD BE DOING 55 AND NOT HAVE ACCESS TO THE SIDE MIRRORS IF I FORGOT. I BELIEVE THEY SHOULD AUTOMATICALLY OPEN BACK UP WHEN THE VEHICLE GETS TO A SPECIFIC SPEED LIKE 20-25 MILES AN HOUR. I HAD A BMW THAT HAD THE SAME O[PTIOON ONLY WHEN IT GOT TO 20 MILES AN HOUR IT AUTOMATICALLY PUT THE SIDEVIEW MIRRORS WHERE THEY NEEDED TO GO. BIG SAFETY ISSUE

THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS ON THE LINCOLN MKC MALFUNCTION IN THE RAIN. I EXPERIENCED SEVERAL INSTANCES WHERE, UNDER FLOOD ADVISORY CONDITIONS, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS DID NOT WORK. I TURNED THE CAR ON AND OFF SEVERAL TIMES. I CHANGE THE WIPER AUTOMATION SETTINGS SEVERAL TIMES AND STILL THE WIPERS WOULD NOT WORK. I BELIEVE THIS IS A VERY HAZARDOUS ISSUE FOR ANYONE DRIVING A 2017 LINCOLN MKC AND DO NOT BELIEVE IT SHOULD BE TAKEN LIGHTLY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES WHEN LIVES ARE AT HAND. IN THE ABOVE SET INSTANCE I WAS DRIVING DURING THE DAY WITH RAIN SLEET AND SNOW UNDER FLOOD ADVISORY CONDITIONS.

THE CAR WAS NOT ON. IT WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY OF A RESIDENTIAL HOME. THE LIFT GATE WAS OPEN. THE ARM THAT LIFTS AND SUPPORTS THE LIFT GATE BROKE SUDDENLY. IT SOUNDED LIKE AN EXPLOSION AND A LARGE PRESSURIZED SPRING (GREATER THAN 2 FEET IN LENGTH) PROPELLED FROM THE LIFT GATE ARM. THIS SPRING STRUCK A CHILD IN THE FACE WITH SO MUCH FORCE THAT IT KNOCKED HIM DOWN, WITH CUTS AND BRUISED TO THE CHILD'S FACE (NEAR THE EYES). THE FORCE OF THE SPRING ALSO CAUSED A DAMAGE TO THE BUMPER. IF THIS HAPPENS AGAIN, IT HAS POTENTIAL TO CAUSE SIGNIFICANT BODILY HARM.
