Varsity Ford Lincoln is refusing to fix open recalls. My vehicle has been sitting with them for 90 days. Lincoln is refusing to help. Now the dealership in a letter is stating they are not going to fix the open recalls because I have to pay them money to fix my brakes before they'll do that in a text. They are extorting me.
Dealership and Lincoln refusing to repair.
Car is inoperable due to the brake issue and airbag issue. Lincoln refuses to assist with getting it towed or working with the dealership. They will say that they do these things or are trying to help but they do not. This has been going on for 5 years. Dealerships will not fix the vehicle because the vehicle is too old they are telling me. The car is sitting and cannot be driven and nobody will help. I can't sell it I can't drive it I can't use it I can't do anything.

Brakes have failed. Cannot even get to dealership because of this for the repair. Also, airbag light is still on and no repair listed for recall issue.
The contact owns a 2007 Lincoln MKZ. The contact stated that after having the rotors replaced, while driving approximately 30 MPH and attempting to stop the vehicle, the brake pedal was depressed and went to the floorboard. The vehicle coasted before coming to a complete stop. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that there was a grinding sound coming from the rear of the vehicle while reversing. Additionally, was a slight delay while shifting gear. The contact also stated that the air bag warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure was persistent during cold weather. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic however, the mechanic was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed; however, the dealer was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The brake pads and rotors had been replaced approximately 3 to 4 times. The vehicle was returned to the dealer but was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 95,000.

I believe my car uses Takata Airbags and it has been over a year since the recall was issued. No remedy has been suggested.

They've yet to find a remedy for either of these recalls. I'm complaining because I'd hate for someone to end up hurt before they figure out how to fix this. It's been 2yrs on the brake recall, this is getting rediculous

AFTER RECEIVING A LETTER IN THE MAIL REGARDING MY AIRBAG RECALL, I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE INTO WARREN FORD TO HAVE THE AIRBAGS RECALL RESOLVED. WHEN I PICKED UP MY CAR THERE WAS NOW AN AIRBAG LIGHT ON, ON THE DASH. PRIOR TO HAVING ANY WORK DONE THERE WERE NO DASH LIGHTS ON. WARREN FORD INFORMED US UPON REQUEST THAT THERE IS "NOTHING THEY ARE WILLING TO DO." THIS IS AN ISSUE BECAUSE PRIOR TO THE WORK BEING DONE I HAD NO ISSUES AND NOW THERE IS A LIGHT ON SHOWING ME THAT THERE IS SOME TYPE OF SAFETY CONCERN NOW. SINCE THE LIGHT WASN'T ON WHEN WE ORIGINALLY BROUGHT IT TO THE SHOP FOR THE AIRBAG RECALL, THERE MUST HAVE BEEN SOME KIND OF MISTAKE WHILE THEY WERE WORKING ON THE VEHICLE. THE AIRBAG RECALL REALLY HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ISSUE NOW, THE ISSUE NOW IS THAT WARREN FORD SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR NOT FIXING/RESOLVING THE AIRBAG LIGHT ISSUE THAT IS ONLY ON SINCE THEY COMPLETED THE AIRBAG REPLACEMENT. THIS RECALL WORK WAS COMPLETED AROUND DECEMBER OF 2018. WARREN FORD STATED IT WAS NOT A LIFE THREATENING CONCERN AND TOLD US TO BRING THE CAR BACK AS SOON AS IT WAS CONVENIENT TO HAVE THEM RESOLVE THE LIGHT ISSUE. THEN WHEN WE BROUGHT THE CAR BACK THATS WHEN THEY SAID THERES NOTHING TO BE DONE AND THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE TO DO THE WORK.

I ATTEMPTED AGAIN BEING THAT I HAD NOT HEARD FROM THEM AFTER THEM STATING THAT THEY WOULD CALL WHEN PARTS CAME AVAILABLE. IT'S HAS BEEN OVER A YEAR, AN IN THE YEAR I HAVE BEEN IN TWO ACCIDENTS. TAKATA RECALL I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR AIRBAG RECALL. WHEN I RECEIVED MY VEHICLE BACK, THE AIRBAG LIGHT WAS ON. THEY CLAIMED THAT THEY DID NOT GO NEAR ANYTHING THAT WOULD CAUSE THE AIRBAG LIGHT TO COME ON AND THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY TO HAVE IT DIAGNOSED.
TAKATA RECALL, FORD SAID THEY WOULD ADDRESS THE PROBLEM THE THIRD QUARTER OF 2018. ALWAYS THE CLAIM OF NO PARTS THE QUESTION WILL FORD EVER FIX THIS PROBLEM? CAR CAN NOT BE USED FOR MULTIPLE PASSENGERS. DEALERS HAVE NOT HAD ANY PARTS TO DATE 2/18/2019. GOVERNMENT SHOULD RESTRICT ALL NEW CAR SALES UNTIL A FUNCTIONAL PROGRAM WITH ACTUAL REPAIRS ARE UNDERWAY.

THE HEATING ELEMENT IN THE DRIVER'S SEAT IS KNOWN TO GO BAD IN THE 2007 MODELS AND I THINK SOME 2008 FORD MODELS VEHICLE ALSO. WHEN I PUSH THE ELECTRIC HEAT SEAT BUTTON IT WILL TURN RED FOR A MINUTE BUT THE HEATING ELEMENT WILL NOT WORK IN THE BACK OR IN THE SEAT AREA OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE. OTHER PEOPLE I KNOW HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR FORD SAME HERE DIFFERENT MODEL AND MAKE AND HAVE FOUND THE SOLUTION TO BE A NEW WIRING HARNESS / CONNECTOR TO REPLACE THE FACTORY ONE APPARENTLY ONE OF THE WIRES BURNT OUT FROM THE FACTORY CAUSING IT TO SHORT. IT STARTED BY GETTING EXTREMELY HOT AND TURNING OFF REALLY QUICK ON ITS OWN AND EVERY TIME AFTER THAT TURNING OFF QUICKER AND QUICKER UNTIL IT WOULD NOT TURN BACK ON ONLY SHOW THE RED LIGHT FOR A BRIEF MINUTE.......... AS OF THIS DATE OF COMPLAINT (10/28/17, I HAVE YET TO RECEIVE NOTICE THAT THE AIRBAG WILL BE REPLACED, MY CALLS TO THE THE LINCOLN MOTOR COMPANY HAVE RESULTED IN THEIR STATEMENT THAT THE REPLACEMENT AIRBAG IS NOT AVAILABLE "AT THIS TIME." IN THE MEANWHILE I CANNOT HAVE A PASSENGER SIT IN THE FRONT SEAT OF THE AUTOMOBILE. FURTHER, THEY CANNOT TELL ME WHEN THE REPLACEMENT AIR BAG WILL BECOME AVAILABLE.
THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL ON THE PASSENGER AIRBAG SINCE JUNE 2016. THIS RECALL STATES THAT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG COULD RUPTURE IF EVER INVOLVED IN A CRASH AND GIVE NO PROTECTION TO MY PASSENGER. AS OF TODAY THERE IS STILL NO REMEDY TO THIS PROBLEM. THIS IS IS A TAKATA PRODUCT. THE DELAY IN CORRECTING THIS DANGEROUS ISSUE IS RECKLESS AND IRRESPONSIBLE AND PUTS PEOPLE I LOVE IN DANGER EVERY DAY. THIS CAR PARTS HAVE CONTINUOUSLY FAIL ON THIS PARTICULAR CAR PANELS ON BOTH FRONT DOOR HAVE CRACKED, DRIVES SIDE HAS BEEN REPLACED ONCE BY DEALER. WAS TOLD THAT IF I REPLACE DOOR PANEL I WOULD HAVE TO BUY THE DOOR RATHER THAN JUST A PANEL, HAVE REPLACED ALL FOUR REELS ON THE CAR, TIRES CONSTANTLY HAVE TO BE CHECKED FOR LOW AIR PRESSURE IN TIRES, DASHBOARD HAS POPPED LOOSE AT VENT IN TOP OF DASHBOARD AND WAS TOLD BY DEALER IT WOULD COST OVER $2000 TO REPAIR. THIS CAR IS SUPPOSE TO BE ONE OF LINCOLN'S BEST VEHICLES AND THE PARTS ON THIS CAR ARE NOT TOP QUALITY. CAR IS NOT OLD ENOUGH TO HAVE HAD SO MANY PROBLEM. CAR WAS POORLY BUILT AND IT IS A SHAME THAT LINCOLN WILL NOT STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND ACKNOWLEDGE ALL OF THESE PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR. I AM A VERY UNSATISFIED CUSTOMER AND AT THIS POINT WOULD NOT CONSIDER BUYING ANOTHER VEHICLE IN THE LINCOLN FAMILY. WHAT A SHAME THAT YOU PAY SO MUCH FOR A VEHICLE AND GET THIS KIND OF QUALITY. I IMMEDIATELY TOOK IT TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT. I WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE VERY EXPENSIVE TO FIX, BUT FOR ME "NOT TO WORRY ABOUT IT" AS LONG AS THE LIGHT DIDN'T BOTHER ME. IN LIGHT OF THE RECENT RECALLS OF OTHER MODELS OF FORD CARS AND STORIES ON THE NATIONAL NEWS ABOUT THE AIRBAG DEFECT RESULTING IN EVEN FATAL INJURIES DUE TO THE AIRBAG, I FEEL THIS MATTER SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY FORD AND REPAIRED BY FORD AT "THEIR EXPENSE." ADDITIONALLY, I ONLY HAVE 50,450 MILES ON MY CAR AND IT HAS BEEN TAKEN CARE OF VERY WELL BY ME.
