Have tried to schedule an appointment with my local Lincoln dealer to have the recall on my car fixed but they told at this time they have no way to fix it.
Bought vehicle from owner 02/2023. Check brake system light came on a few months after, breaks started to skip and making a sound. Took it in to Ford dealership and they showed 2 recalls but never said it would be fixed.
I called ford dealerships to fix the problems back in 2019 but the two recalls have not been fixed yet. Recently, my car was almost failing to stop while I was breaking down.

Acutely while driving, the brake petal went all the way to the floor. The brakes slowly slowed the car but didn’t stop it. Car was towed to the dealership May 21st. I was refused a loaner. Despite receiving two separate notices (one of which was after they had my car) telling me to go get the free fix, they have failed to provide the part. Leaving me without a car for four months. This has to be past a customary fix time.

UPON INVESTIGATION, THE CONTACT ASSOCIATED THE FAILURE WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V904000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THEY WERE UNABLE TO OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 104,000.

MAY OF 2021 WILL MARK TWO YEARS SINCE I BEGAN HAVING ISSUES WITH MY 2008 LINCOLN MKZ ABS SYSTEM. LINCOLN OFFICIALLY ISSUED A RECALL ABOUT MY SPECIFIC VEHICLE IN JANUARY 2020. IT IS UNACCEPTABLE FOR A FIX TO NOT YET HAVE BEEN ESTABLISHED FOR THIS. I CANNOT SELL MY CAR AS NO ONE WILL BUY IT WITH THE ISSUE AND I CANNOT TRADE MY CAR FOR ANOTHER ONE BECAUSE THE DEALERSHIPS CANNOT SELL THE TRADE TO A CUSTOMER DUE TO THE RECALL. ACCORDING TO DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORT PROBLEM THAT HCU MAY BE STICKING OPEN. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME A HEAVY APPLICATION IS MADE WHEN ROAD SURFACE IS WET.

OUR VEHICLE IS SUBJECT TO NHTSA RECALL 19V-904. IN 2020, LINCOLN STOPPED REPAIRING VEHICLES SUBJECT TO THIS RECALL. UNFORTUNATELY, MY VEHICLE IS SUFFERING FROM THIS BRAKE PROBLEM AND I HAVE LOST USE OF MY BRAKES ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. ON JUNE 26, 2020, MY BRAKES FAILED RESULTING IN A PROPERTY DAMAGE ACCIDENT. AFTER BODY DAMAGE REPAIR, MY BRAKES HAVE AGAIN FAILED. THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP FINALLY AGREED TO EXAMINE THE VEHICLE AND FOUND THAT THE BRAKE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO THE RECALL. NEVERTHELESS, IN ADDITION TO THE THOUSANDS PAID TO REPAIR MINE AND THE OTHER PARTY'S VEHICLE'S DAMAGE, I'VE HAD TO PAY THE LOCAL FORD DEALERSHIP $1093.80 TO FIX THE CAR. THE BRAKE FAILURE IS DANGEROUS AND POTENTIALLY DEADLY. LINCOLN'S DELAY IN REMEDYING THE ISSUE IS THE DIRECT CAUSE OF MY CAR ACCIDENT.

MY BRAKES HAVE EXCESSIVE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL WITH A LOT OF NOISE. I TOOK MY MKZ TO THE DEALER PAID FOR ALL NEW BRAKES 4 MONTHS BEFORE THE RECALL LETTER CAME. I HAD TO RETURN MY CAR 3 TIMES TELLING THEM SOMETHING WAS NOT RIGHT ! AFTER I RECEIVED THE SAFETY RECALL NOTICE 19S54/NTSA RECALL 19V-904 IN JAN 20 I WAS TOLD I COULD PAY FOR THE PARTS AND SERVICE BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE PARTS TO DO IT ? WHAT ? IF I COULD PAY THEY CLEARLY COULD MAKE MY CAR SAFE AND FIX IT WITH THE RECALL PROTOCOL. WHEN I CALLED IN APRIL IT WAS DUE TO COVID -19, THEY COULDN'T GET THE PARTS. I WAS TOLD TO WAIT ON A LETTER, IT'S NOW AUG.1, WAY PAST THE LATE FIRST QUARTER OF 2020. STILL DRIVING MY CAR WITH MY CHILD IN IT HOPING THE BRAKES DO NOT CAUSE ME TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT.

THE CONTACT WAS GIVEN AN ESTIMATE FOR THE REPAIR. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO NOTIFIED BY THE DEALER THAT THE PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. DRIVING ON HIGHWAY AT POSTED SPEED LIMIT OF 65MPH AND BRAKES FAILED. BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. PEDAL TO THE FLOOR HAPPENED THREE SEPARATE TIMES DURING THE SAME TRIP. VEHICLE WAS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO STOP AND BRAKES LOCKED UP. VEHICLE BEGAN SLIDING. BRAKE FAILURE DUE TO ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM FAILURE. THIS PERTAINS TO RECALL NHTSA 19V-904. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO A LINCOLN DEALERSHIP AND SERVICE TECHNICIAN SAID THE PROBLEM HAS TO DO WITH THE RECALL. MY CAR IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE TO DRIVE AND THE RECALL PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE YET. LINCOLN IS NOT PAYING FOR AN INTERM REPAIR NOR OFFERING RENTAL CARS. I HAVE BEEN WITHOUT MY CAR FOR 13 DAYS. LINCOLN SHOULD BE MORE CONCERNED WITH THIS RECALL AND BE PAYING FOR INTERM REPAIRS.

THE FRONT PASSENGER SUSTAINED LOWER BACK INJURIES BOTH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW LOT. VEHICLE WONT STOP IN REQUIRED STOPPING DISTANCE AS PER DESIGN AND SUPPLY THEREOF. I AM A VERY EXPERIENCED DRIVER BUT OTHER DRIVERS ARE UNLIKELY TO BE ABLE TO RESPOND APPROPRIATELY. BRAKES SPONTANEOUSLY WENT SOFT, DURING TRAVEL (30 MPH?). CHANGED MASTER CYLINDER WHICH SEEMED TO RESOLVE ISSUE. COUPLE OF WEEKS LATER, HAPPENED AGAIN UWHILE IN MOTION. MASTER CYLINDER CHANGED 2ND TIME UNDER WARRANTY. HAPPENED THIRD TIME WITHIN WEEKS TRAVELING ABOUT 50 MPH. THE THIRD TIME, IT HAPPENED UPON APPLICATION OF BRAKES (NOT AGGRESSIVE) WHICH CAUSED ABS ACTIVATION. PULSE WAS FELT IN BRAKE PEDAL AND IMMEDIATELY BRAKES PEDAL WENT SOFT (ALMOST TO FLOOR). PUMPING BRAKE PEDAL FIRMED THE BRAKES. COUPLE OF DAYS LATER, TESTED ABS ON GRAVEL ROAD BY AGGRESSIVE BRAKING, ABS ACTIVATION AND BRAKES WENT SOFT IMMEDIATELY DURING THE ACTION. PUMPING UP BRAKES RESULTED IN FIRMING, AT TOP OF BRAKE PEDAL TRAVEL WITHOUT SLOWING VEHICLE THEN INTO SOFT TRAVEL THROUGH 3/4 TRAVEL UNTIL FIRMED AGAIN AT BOTTOM OF TRAVEL. CONCERN IS THAT IN THE EVENT OF EMERGENCY BRAKING WHICH ACTIVATES ABS, TYPICAL BRAKING CHANGES TO 'SOFT PEDAL' (BELIEF OF FAILED BRAKES) AND POTENTIAL FOR PANIC AND RESULTING COLLISION. DEALER TESTED SYSTEM TODAY (10/03/2018) AND COULD NOT DIAGNOSE ANY PROBLEM. NO DASH LIGHT WAS EVER ACTIVATED IN ANY OF THE EVENTS DESCRIBED. NO BRAKE FLUID LEAK DETECTED, NO LOSS OF BRAKE FLUID.

THIS IS THE THIRD INCIDENT LIKE THIS WITH THE CAR IN THE 5 YEARS I HAVE OWNED AFTER BUYING IT CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED FROM FORD. WHEN I RESEARCH THE PROBLEM ON LINE, I SEE MULTIPLE CASES IN THE 2006 TO 2008 LINCOLN MKZ/ZEPHR, THE FORD FUSION AND THE MERCURY MILAN. ALL OF THE ON-LINE REPORTS SAY THE ONLY FIX IS TO REPLACE THE HYDRAULIC CONTROL VALVE FOR THE ABS SYSTEM. NONE OF APPEARS TO BE COVERED BY FORD. I AM TAKING MINE TO THE LOCAL FORD DEALER TOMORROW TO HAVE THEM LOOK AT MINE AND DRIVE IT WHILE IT IS ACTING UP. I FEEL SOMETHING AS CRITICAL TO THE SAFE BRAKING OF THE VEHICLE THAT APPEARS TO BE A CHRONIC MODEL PROBLEM OUGHT TO BE ADDRESSED BY FORD. THE PART IS EXPENSIVE TO REPLACE AND SHOULD BE DONE BY QUALIFIED SERVICE.

WHEN I GOT HOME, I WENT ONLINE TO LOOK UP THE ISSUE AND I FOUND OTHER PEOPLE INQUIRING ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE. SOME PEOPLE SPENT A LOT OF MONEY AND THE ISSUE WAS STILL NOT PROPERLY RESOLVED. I THINK THIS COMMON ISSUE NEEDS TO BE REVIEWED, AND A RECALL ISSUED SINCE BRAKES PLAY A SIGNIFICANT ROLE IN THE SAFETY OF A CAR. IF I WAS NOT ON AN EMPTY ROAD OR IF I HAD A CAR RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME, I COULD HAVE HAD A CAR ACCIDENT TODAY BECAUSE I COULD NOT STOP THE CAR RIGHT AWAY.
