All Electrical System Complaints (14)
ON LONG TRIPS, OFTEN IN COLD, WET OR SNOWY WEATHER, THE ENGINE WILL OCCASIONALLY REV OUT OF CONTROL. THIS IS NOT AN ISSUE OF THE THROTTLE CABLE ICING UP BECAUSE TURNING THE ENGINE OFF AND RESTARTING IT (WHICH IS THE LAST THING YOU WANT TO DO WHILE STILL MOVING ON ICY ROADS) TEMPORARILY RESOLVES THE ISSUE. THEREFORE, IT SEEMS TO BE MOST LIKELY AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. NO DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES (DTCS) ARE REGISTERED IN THE COMPUTER'S MEMORY, THEREFORE NO INFORMATION EXISTS BY WHICH TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM. I HAVE BEEN TO DEALERS AND THEY HAVE SAID THEY CANNOT HELP ME UNLESS THEY CAN REPLICATE THE PROBLEM IN THE SHOP. AS I SAID, IT HAS ONLY HAPPENED AFTER MANY HOURS OF DRIVING ON LONG TRIPS, WHICH MAKES IT IMPOSSIBLE TO REPLICATE IN THE SHOP. *NM
DURING A TRIP FROM HOME TO STORE, THE DASH LIGHTS FOR THE ABS AND BRAKE SYSTEM CAME ON WITHOUT ANY PRIOR WARNING. ANOTHER DRIVER MADE A U-TURN IN FRONT OF ME PRIOR TO MY ARRIVAL AT THE STORE CAUSING ME TO HAVE TO APPLY THE BRAKES IN AN EVASIVE MANUEVER. THE BRAKES L,OCKED UP AND CAUSED ME TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. FORTUNATELY, I WAS ABLE TO AVOID THE COLLISION. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL REPAIR SHOP AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE ABS HYDRAULIC CONTROL VALVE NEEDED TO BE REPLACE. THEY INDICATED THAT THERE HAD BEEN 3 REVISIONS OF THE ORIGINAL ABS SYSTEM VALVE, INDICATING THAT MAZDA WAS AWARE THAT THERE HAD BEEN A PROBLEM WITH THIS VALVE. WE HAVE NEVER RECEIVED ANY INDICATION OF A RECALL OR PROBLEM.*AK

ON TRIPS THAT ARE 80 MILES OR LONGER DISTRIBUTOR CAP MODULE WILL HEAT UP, AND ENGINE WILL FAIL TO OPERATE. DEALER HAS FIXED VARIOUS ASPECTS OF ENGINE, BUT HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO REMEDY PROBLEM. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION / ATTACHMENTS / COPIES OF RECEIPTS. *AK
ELECTRICAL CONNECTION BETWEEN THE MAIN BUSS IN THE MAIN FUSE BOX AND THE FUSE HOLDER TO THE FUEL PUMP RELAY FUSE FAILED CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO NOT START OR TO STALL WHILE DRIVING. NLM

I DON'T KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM IS BUT THE TRUCK STALLS OUT AT IDLE AND DURING DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. I HAVE NOT LOST POWER STEERING BUT AM CONCERNED THAT WITH STALLLING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THIS COUILD POSE A SAFETY PROBLEM. I WAS WONDERING IF THERE WERE ANY OTHER REPORTED PROBLEMS OR RECALLS THAT WOULD FIT THIS DESCRIPTION. I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLES SERVICED AND THE MECHANIC SAYS THAT THEY CAN FIND NO PROBLEMS. *AK
CONSUMER WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THERE ARE REGULATION / GUIDELINES FOR MANUFACTURER PRVIDING INFORMATION TO CONSUMER ON MAINTENANCE FREE BATTERY. ON TWO OCCASIONS CONSUMER PURCHASED TWO DIFFERENT BATTERIES, AND BOTH HAVE NO INFORMATION ON THE CARE OF PRODUCTS. CAN NHTSA HELP IN THIS MATTER. *AK
