I WOULD LIKE TO REPORT A QUALITY ISSUES ABOUT GOODYEAR'S TRACKER 2 TIRES. IN EARLY SUMMER OF 2007, I HAD 4 TIRES OF THIS BRAND INSTALLED AT WAL-MART. THESE TIRES WERE SOLD AT WAL-MART WITH CLAIMS FOR 50,000 MILES WARRANTY. BY NOW, IT HAS BEEN NOT MORE THAN 3 YEARS AND GOT CLOSE TO 40,000 MILES. ON LAST SATURDAY MORNING WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON SOUTH BOUND I-77, ABOUT 1 MILE A WAY FROM EXIT 58 IN VIRGINIA, THE TIRE ON THE BEAR DRIVER'S SIDE BLEW UP. I HAD TO CALL POLICE FOR ROAD ASSISTANCE IN ORDER TO INSTALL THE SPARE TIRE. I WAS LUCKY THAT I JUST ROTATED THE TIRES ON FRIDAY NIGHT BEFORE THIS TRIP. OTHERWISE, THIS TIRE WOULD HAVE BEEN ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE IN FRONT. WHEN I TOOK MY PICKUP TO WAL-MART TO HAVE THE TIRES CHECKED, THEY THEN FOUND SEVERE BUBBLES AND CRACKS ON OTHER 2 TIRES, RIGHT FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AND REAR. ONLY THE TIRE ON THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE STILL APPEARED TO BE LESS DEFECTIVE, AND BUBBLES WERE FOUND ALTHOUGH NOT AS APPARENT. WE USED TO HAVE TIRES THAT CAN RUN FOR 70,000 OR EVEN 80,000 WILES WITH A 50,000 MILE WARRANTY. NOW, THE QUALITY ISSUES SEEM INVADE INTO EVERY CORNER OF OUR DAILY LIFE. WITH THE INCIDENT I JUST HAD, I WOULD HAVE TO SAY THAT I LEARNED A LOT. I JUST HOPE THE GOVERNMENT TIGHTENS UP OUR RULES FOR THESE COMPANIES THAT PROFIT AT THE EXPENSE OF CUSTOMERS. *TR

FRONT TIRES BEGAN CUPPING AFTER FOUR OR FIVE MONTHS. ALL TIRES CUPPED AFTER ROTATION. VERY HEAVY VIBRATION AND "THUMPING" OF VEHICLE. DEALER BLAMED TIRES. FIRESTONE BLAMED FRONT SUSPENSION OF MAZDA/FORD TRUCKS. NEITHER WOULD TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. *AK (DOT NUMBER: W2UU1P0078 TIRESIZE: P225/70R15)
WHILE DRIVING THE TRUCK STARTED TO MAKE A STRANGE NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT.I PULLED OVER GOT OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND CHECK THE FRONT.WHAT I FOUND WAS THAT HALF THE TOP SURFACE OF THE TIRE WAS GONE SHOWING BARE METAL.THE TIRE STILL HAD AIR IN IT.THIS SAME TIRE WAS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION THAT SAME DAY. *AK( DOT NUMBER: TIRE SIZE: P23575R15 )

THESE TIRES WEREN'T WARRANTED, AND SINCE THE OTHER TWO WERE ALMOST NEW, TO MATCH THEM UP, I HAD TO BUY 2 NEW ONES FROM A FIRESTONE DEALER. SINCE THEN I HAVE HAD NO MORE PROBLEMS WITH THE TIRES, BUT I FELT THAT FIRESTONE SHOULD HAVE WARRANTED THEIR TIRES AGAINST FAILURE, AND THERE WAS COMPLETE FAILURE ALONG THE SIDEWALLS.. PE00020; WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH REAR PASSENGER'S SIDE TIRETREAD HAD SEPARATED. FIRESTONE, WILDERNESS HT TIRES, P225/70R15. TIRE WAS PURCHASED WITH VEHICLE. VEHICLE IS MAZDA TRUCK, B2500 1998. DRIVER'S SIDE REAR TIRE IS ALSO EXPERIENCING SPLITTING. *AK THE TIRE IS DEFECTIVE. THE TREAD SEPARATED AND RIPPED. THERE IS SPLIT ON THE LEFT REAR ALSO. *YH
FYI: THESE TIRES SHOW SAME SYMTOMS AS RECALLED "AT" & "ATX" - BUT I'M TOLD THEY'RE NOT PART OF RECALL - I HAVE ONE THAT IS SEVERLY OUT OF BALANCE, ESPECIALLY ON HOT DAYS( DOT NUMBER: 02 7532 TIRE SIZE: 255 70R15 )
THESE TIRES NEED TO BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL!! I HAD A BLOW OUT (LEFT FRONT) AT 65MPH AT 24K MILES. THE OTHER FRONT TIRE WAS GOUGED AND CRACKED. I REPLACED THESE TIRES WITH 2 MORE FIRESTONE P225/70R15S AND 25K MILES LATER BOTH FRONT TIRES WERE AGAIN GOUGES AND CRACKED. I HAD THOSE REPLACED 2 DADYS PRIOR TO THE OTHER RECALL ANNOUNCEMENT. FROM THE NEWS REPORTS I HAVE SEEN AND FROM COMPARING MY TIRES TO OTHERS, THEY LOOK THE SAME DAMAGE WISE AS THE ONES BEING RECALLED. THERE IS NO REASON ANYONE SHOULD GO THROUGH 2 SETS OF TIRES IN 50K MILES. PLEASE CONTINUE TO LOOK FURTHER INTO THIS PROBLEM. A TIRE SEPARATION/BLISTING FROM INSIDE OF THE SIDEWALL ON A 1998 MAZDA B-SERIES TRUCK, AFTERMARKET EQUIPMENT. FIRESTONE NOTIFIED. *AK THE FAILED TIRE WAS FIRESTONE WILDERNESS HT. THE TIRE WAS SLOWLY GOING FLAT AND SHOWED BUBBLES FROM INSIDE WALL WHEN THE CUSTOMER PULLED OVER AND INSPECTED THE VEHICLE. THE RIGHT SIDE DOOR STEP MOULDING CRACKED. *YH
HAD FOUND OUT THAT TIRES ARE SEPARATING BETWEEN THE TREAD AND THE SIDEWALL. FIRESTONE WILDERNESS TIRES. *AK
TREAD COMPLETELY SEPARATED FROM TIRE CASING, DAMAGING FENDER AREA IN THE PROCESS. VEHICLE BECAME VERY DIFFICULT TO CONTROL BUT I WAS ABLE TO COME TO A STOP WITHOUT HITTING ANYTHING. TIRE STILL HAD AIR IN IT BUT WAS COMPLETELY MINUS THE TREAD. TIRES HAS BEEN CHECKED RECENTLY AND WERE FOUND TO BE FREE OF DEFECTS AND CORRECTLY INFLATED. THE FAILED TIRE SHOWED NO SIGNS OF EXTERNAL DIRESS AND WAS STILL INFLATED TO 32 POUNDS.( DOT NUMBER: UNKNOWN TIRE SIZE: P225/70R15 )
TREAD OF TIRES CAME OFF NEW MAZDA PICKUP TWICE WITHIN TWO WEEKS ON RIGHT FRONT AND LEFT FRONT TIRES. WHEN ASKED IF TIRES WERE DEFECTIVE AT FIRESTONE DEALERSHIP I WAS TOLD THE TIRES WERE NOT DEFECTIVE THAT THEY CAME APART DUE TO MY DRIVING ON THEM WHILE FLAT. INTERESTING TO SEE NOW THAT I WAS RIGHT AND THEY WERE WRONG. I HAD SEEN FLATS BEFORE BUT NEVER AN ENTIRE TIRE COME APART.( DOT NUMBER: )
TIRE TREAD COMPLETELY SEPARATED FROM THE CASING OF THE TIRE WITHOUT ANY WARNING. TIRES HAD BEEN INSPECTED AND ROTATED JUST 1,000 MILES EARLIER AND NO PROBLEMS WERE FOUND. THE SUDDEN LOSE OF THE TIRE TREAD AND RESULTING LOSS OF CONTROL CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO SPIN AND HIT THE CENTER DIVIDER OF THE FREEWAY. *AK( DOT NUMBER: UNKNOWN TIRE SIZE: P225/70R15 )
WITH THE LATEST REPORTS OF THE FIRESTONE TIRES THE MODELS LISTED WITH PROBLEMS DID NOT INCLUDE THE MAZDA TRUCKS. I AM ON MY SECOND SET OF THOSE TIRES AND MY VEHICLE HAS BUT 51K MILES. THE FIRST SET RESULTED IN A BLOWOUT AT 65MPH AT 29K MILES AND THE NEW ONES THAT REPLACED THOSE HAVE ONLY 22K MILES AND ARE IN THE SAME SHAPE AS THE FIRST. NO BLOW OUT THIS TIME JUST SCOOPED AND PITTED/WORN TIRES THAT VIBRATE. THE MAZDA NAD FORD RANGERS ARE THE SAME VEHICLE SO PLEASE INCLUDE THE MAZDAS IN YOUR REPORT.
