THE VEHICLE HAS SEVERAL SAFETY ISSUES. 1. THE DOOR AJAR LIGHT ON DASH REPEATEDLY COMES ON AS WELL AS INSIDE LIGHT WHILE DRIVING. THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED SINCE VEHICLE WAS NEW AND NEVER REPAIRED CORRECTLY BY MAZDA FACILITY. 2. TRUCK HAS ORIGINAL WILDERNESS HT TIRES FROM FIRESTONE, WITH 22,000 MILES ON THEM, AND JUST HAD VIBRATION AND VEERING TO RIGHT. FOUND BALL ON TREAD OF DRIVERS SIDE STEER TIRE, WHERE APPARENTLY THE TREAD IS SEPARATING FROM THE TIRE. THE DOT CODE ON THESE TIRES IS W2UU IPO479, P225/70R15 100S. THIS MODEL WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE 2000 RECALL, ALTHOUGH I RECENTLY LEARNED THE HIGHWAY SAFETY BOARD FOUND THESE TIRES TO HAVE MORE COMPLAINTS THEN THE AT AND ATX THAT WERE RECALLED. 3. I TOO HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE OIL PRESSURE NOT REGISTERING UNTIL THE VEHICLES WAS WARMED UP AFTER TRAVELING A COUPLE MILES. DEALER SAID I HAD TO REPLACE SENDING UNIT WHICH THEY DIDN'T HAVE IN STOCK. I REMOVED OLD SENDING UNIT AND TURNED OVER ENGINE UNTIL IT BLEW OIL OUT THE POST THE SENDING UNIT GOES IN, AND ITS BEEN WORKING FINE EVERY SINCE USING THE SAME OLD SENDING UNIT. 4. THE BRAKE LIGHT ON TOP OF CAB, STARTED LEAKING WATER INTO CAB AROUND THE GASKET, SO I HAD TO SILICONE AROUND GASKET TO STOP LEAK. 5. HAD PROBLEMS WITH TRANSMISSION NOT SHIFTING AND WOULD GO INTO NEUTRAL. THIS HAPPENED ON INTERSTATE DOING 70 MPH. PULLED OVER TO SHOULDER AND AFTER TRIAL AND ERROR, FOUND THE ONLY WAY VEHICLE WOULD MOVE WAS TO PUT IT INTO DRIVE 1. DEALER SAID SENSOR WAS BAD IN TRANSMISSION AND REPLACED, AND NO PROBLEMS SINCE. 6. TRANSMISSION DOES NOT SHIFT PROPERLY WHEN TRAVELING UP A HILL, ESPECIALLY IF PULLING A TRAILER, EVEN WHEN TRAILER IS EMPTY AND THERE IS A LOSS OF POWER. THE ENGINE RPM GAUGE SHOWS THE ENGINE RUNNING AT 5000 RPM AND TRANSMISSION WILL NOT SHIFT UNTIL YOU GET TO TOP OF HILL AND START DOWN OTHER SIDE. *TR

DRIVER FELT VIBRATION WILE DRIVING IN FAST LANE, DRIVER THEN LOST CONTROL AND COLLIDED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. *TS THE CONSUMER LOST CONTROL OF THE TRUCK DUE TO TIRE TREAD SEPARATION. THE TIRE BRAND WAS FIRESTONE. THE DRIVER OF THE OTHER VEHICLE WAS INJURED. *JB

TYPE OF CAR: 2000 MAZDA B4000 TRUCK . I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AT ABOUT 30MPH, MADE A RIGHT HAND TURN INTO A PARKING LOT. MOMENTS LATER I NOTICED IN MY REAR VIEW MIRROR A TIRE LYING IN THE ROAD. TURNS OUT MY SPARE TIRE FELL OUT FROM UNDERNEATH MY TRUCK. THE SPARE TIRE CARRIER CABLE HAD SNAPPED ALLOWING THE TIRE TO FALL TO THE GROUND. IT'S A VERY GOOD THING THIS TIRE DIDN'T COME OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY THE NIGHT BEFORE. IT'S ALARMING TO THINK WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED IF THIS HAD OCCURRED 12 HRS BEFORE WHILE TRAVELLING AT 65 MPH.*AK THE TIRE CARRIER MANUFACTURER IS DURA AUTOMOTIVE SYSTEMS (WWW.DURAAUTO.COM). I'VE CONTACTED DURA VIA EMAIL LETTING THEM KNOW OF THE FAILURE AND THEY HAVE NOT RESPONDED TO MY ATTEMPTS. AS OF NOW THE PARTS HAVE NOT BEEN REPLACED.

THE OIL PRESSURE GUAGE HAS JUST QUIT WORKING PROPERLY, IT WILL NOT REGISTER WHEN THE TRUCK IS STARTED, BUT IF I HIT A BUMP OR STOP THE TRUCK AND TURN IT BACK ON, OR DRIVE FOR TWO MILES THE OIL GUAGE WILL POP INTO NORMAL RANGE. THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS COME ON BY THEMSELVES WHEN SWITCH IS OFF, EVERY TIME I MAKE A RIGHT TURN, DURING SOME LEFT TURNS, AND RECENTLY WHEN I AM SLOWING FOR RED LIGHTS. THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE WORE UNEVENLY AND CAUSED EXCESSIVE NOISE AND BUMPINESS IN THE FIRST 12,000 MILES, IT WAS ROTATED TO LEFT REAR AND NOW JUST MAKES NOISE. THE LEFT REAR TIRE ON THE PICK-UP WENT FLAT WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON FM623 NEAR PETTUS, TX. I WAS TRAVELING AT ABOUT 55 MPH AT THE TIME. I NOTICED A PRONOUNCED REDUCTION IN POWER AND PULLED OFF THE ROAD. I CHANGED THE TIRE AND TOOK IT TO 2 PLACES IN BEEVILLE FOR REPAIR. BOTH ESTABLISHMENTS ADVISED ME TO REPORT THE INCIDENT AS A TIRE FAILURE THAT CANNOT BE REPAIRED. THE TIRE HAS A LITTLE MORE THAN 3000 MILES ON IT.*AK (DOT NUMBER: W21111 TIRESIZE: P22570R15/)

UPON LEAVING LIVE OAK, FLA. ENTERING I-75 NORTH BOUND AT THE FLORIDA STATE LINE THE MAZDA TRUCK STARTED SHAKING, SHIMMY LIKE ACTION, AND ALONG SOME PARTS OF THE ROAD IT WAS NOT SO EASY TO MAINTAIN STABILITY ALL OF THE ROAD. I ENTERED THE GEORGIA WELCOME CENTER AND CHECKED THE TIMES FOR ANY ROCKS, NAILS, OR ANY OTHER OBJECTS. I THEN LEFT THERE AND PROCEEDED NORTH, THE SHAKING STARTED ABOUT 4.5 OR 5 MILES NORTH OF THE WELCOME CENTER. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF THIS MIGHT COULD BE A TIRE DEFECT OR SOMETHING ELSE.. PE-00-020; ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT ON A 2000, MAZDA, B2500 TIRE SIZE P22570R15. TIRES HAVE 12 THOUSAND MILES ON THEM, DOT NUMBER NOT AVAILABLE. CONSUMER HAS NOTICED LEFT REAR TIRE HAD DEVELOPED A HAIR LINE CRACK AROUND THE ENTIRE TIRE ON THE INSIDE AND THE OUTSIDE. CONSUMER TIRES WAS INSPECTED. *AK
PE#00020; WILDERNESS HT, P225/70R15, DOT#W2UUIP629. AFTER HAVING ALL FOUR TIRES INSPECTED BY A TECHNICIAN, CONSUMER DISCOVERED THAT ALL FOUR WERE DEFECTIVE. TIRES HAVE RADIAL AND LATERAL RUNOUT. EXCESSIVE VIBRATION WAS FELT WHEN DRIVING. TIRES WERE THE ORIGINAL TIRES PURCHASED WITH VEHICLE. VEHICLE IS A MAZDA TRUCK, B4000, 2000.
I AM CONCERNED SINCE AT RECOMMENDED TIRE PRESSURE THE BOTH THE INNER AND OUTER RIBS ARE ROUNDING PREMATURLY AND IT IS STARTING TO GO OUT OF BALLANCE WHICH DEFFINATELY MEANS THE TIRES ARE CHANGING CONFIGURATION.
