This Problem Across All Years
I have noticed the windshield is distorted and from reports all over the Internet that seems to be an issue with 20-22 mazda cx-30’s and I don’t think Mazda is going to replace it. It causes me to get fatigued, and a little dizzy at times during long distance driving.

I picked up my certified pre owned CX-30 just 2 days ago and noticed the windshield appears distorted or wavy which results in eye strain and headaches. This seems to occur in the left side of the windshield. It is difficult to focus for long periods of time. I asked another person to drive the car and they confirmed it nearly instantly. I recently learned this is a known issue with the vehicle.

Was driving on interstate, during the afternoon, not close to any other traffic ahead. It was neither raining nor particularly windy. I heard a very loud “explosion” sound, like a gunshot. I pulled over and my sunroof is bowed OUTWARD a little, and missing a big section of glass. There is no rock or debris laying on the interior screen, and the sunroof is NOT concave like from an impact. It is clearly blown upward.

Notable distortion in the windshield horizontally through driver and passenger areas. Dealership has been helpful in replacing the windshield three times thus far. The most recent windshield is clearer but still with notable distortion and is considered an aftermarket windshield. Mazda is aware of the issue and was told they are giving pushback on replacements. This issue is noted numerous times on multiple Mazda forums with no solution. From conversations with the dealership, Mazda is claiming this is normal especially close to the pillars due to vehicle design. This issue causes driver fatigue and distance perception problems while driving which is considered a road safety concern. Paperwork and vehicle are available for inspection upon request.

Yesterday I heard a very light ting sound. I did not think much of it. When I stopped I checked for any windshield damage, I could not locate any. After having the car parked for several hours, to my utter shock I had about a 1' long crack in my windshield. After looking for some time, I located the microscopic chip that caused the issue. I believe the windshield is defective! It is either too thin, too brittle, or both. Which could be a safety hazard.

The windshield in my 2021 CX30 had a distorted view on the passenger side of vehicle. Took it in to dealership who confirmed that there was obvious distortion in the windshield. Windshield was replaced and the new windshield has the same issue. Mazda is now saying that it is "normal" to have some distortion on this particular model and they will not replace the windshield again.

There is a warp in the windshield on the driver's side of the car that causes noticeable distortion. It causes eye pain and headaches. It also causes distortion and visibility issues when driving at night.

Manufacturing defect in the windshield glass: distorted/warped windshield glass causing waves/ripples. Result: impaired visibility when operating vehicle and rapid eye fatigue. Google search (forums) indicates that this is a well known issue on several Mazda models. The issue presumably existed at factory. I noticed upon purchase as CPO at 6k miles. Available for inspection if needed.
