Component/System: Automatic transmission (requires full replacement). The vehicle is currently located at Safford Mazda of Fredericksburg, 10653 Patriot Hwy, Fredericksburg, VA, 22408, and is available for inspection upon request. Safety risk: The transmission developed a loud whining and grinding noise while driving, indicating imminent risk of sudden loss of motive power or seizure. This creates a severe crash hazard, especially on highways or during acceleration/merging. Sudden loss of propulsion without warning can leave the driver unable to accelerate, maintain speed, or move out of harm’s way. The problem has been reproduced and confirmed by Safford Mazda (authorized Mazda dealer). On October 16, 2025, they diagnosed the vehicle as requiring a complete transmission replacement (Repair Order/Multi-Point Inspection Video is available). The vehicle has not yet been inspected by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives, but remains at the dealership awaiting parts. Starting approximately in late August, a transmission whine started zero warning lights or alerts ever appearing. Noise rapidly worsened. [XXX]: expert friend drove it once, instantly recognized imminent failure, and ordered me to stop driving immediately. At ~20,000 miles, the dealer confirmed the drive unit must be fully replaced, still with no dashboard warning ever triggered. Had I kept driving while trusting the silent system, this critical component could have seized at any moment, causing sudden total loss of propulsion at highway speed or in traffic with my young child on board. The complete absence of any alert during a proven, progressive failure is an urgent, unacceptable safety defect that demands immediate investigation and recall before a family is injured or killed. As of [XXX] , the vehicle has been out of service for 33+ calendar days. The dealer informed me I am #60 in Mazda’s national transmission replacement backlog. I purchased the 2024 Mazda CX-30 from Werner Mazda in Manchester, NH on 12-16-2023. It came with defect(s) that cause interior water buildup on inside windows & roof that also caused the air bag deployers to rust & corrode & for toxic mold to develop in the car. Was obvious soon after I drove the car off the lot on [XXX]. I have taken many pictures & videos of it. Werner Mazda failed to fix the defect(s) / leaks even with video support from Regional Mazda. I filed a Demand For Arbitration with NH New DMV Arbitration Board for a vehicle buyback plus reimbursement of my out of pocket expenses which remains pending as of the date / time of this post (09-14-2024) INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

My car is model CX-30 2024 and I bought it a week ago. The car was turned off with the doors open because I was cleaning it. When I wanted to start the car it gave me an error: “Keyless Entry System Malfunction, have the Vehicle Inspected”, also the start indicator light (amber) flashes. After this error message, I couldn't start the car. I called Mazda where I bought it and they told me to do several maneuvers with the key fob, I also tried with the other key fob and after doing thousands of maneuvers the car didn't turn on. They told me to call Mazda's Emergency Roadside Assistance to have them send the tow truck and leave the car in the Mazda workshop. More than 4 hours passed and the tow truck never arrived, I called Mazda roadside assistance again and they told me that there were no tow trucks available and that it would take another 4 or 5 hours to arrive (that is, around 4 in the morning). It was already midnight, it was cold and I had to leave my son alone at home because I couldn't leave the car in the street. I had to call another tow truck company that could assist me faster (they arrived in 30 minutes). I am completely frustrated and disappointed with the Mazda service because in the workshop they said that the key fob was in hibernation and that's why it wouldn't turn on. It's incredible that this happens with a completely new car (1 week old) and that the dealer says that the car doesn't have any problems. This represents a high risk and danger to anyone if the car suddenly doesn't start and there's no way for it to start. In addition, I had tow truck and Uber expenses to be able to transport myself. I urgently need to review this problem with Mazda, as there are no recalls and they do not respond to this problem.
