Cracked cylinder head probably caused by cylinder deactivation causing catastrophic oil loss on the highway. Upon researching this, I see that it is a known issue with Mazda. My car is now in the shop awaiting repairs. It only has about 35,000 miles on it. This is obviously a known defect and is simply not acceptable.

The vehicle turned the ac off and started blowing straight hot air into the vehicle after sitting in idle for less than 5 minutes. Which resulted in my dog having a seizure and passing away. There was not a notification on the app or any type of warning for this to happen.

The car has a lot of vibration when driving 60mph and above. Have had this issue looked at more than 5 times and they had my card for 1 month at the dealership trying to find the issue. This started back in February of 2024 and I have purchased 4 sets of tires and nothing makes the vibrations of the seat, steering wheel go away. Originally it wasn’t vibrating while driving back in February of 2025 only when braking to which I said to them I think it’s the rotors that have an issue. They never check the rotors and said it was my tires that were cupped. I put new tires on the car and still the same issue and went back to the dealership in April of 2024 and let them know it think it’s the rotors. In fact it was the rotors they were warped and they balanced the tires again. The dealership recommended resurfacing the rotors to which I had done. A Couple of months later the vibration while driving started. Bought another set of tires had then installed, balanced and aligned and still vibration. I thought maybe it’s the brand so I bought another set of tires to which the problem is still there. Now besides the vibration while driving I have vibrations while braking again after the dealership put in new rotors back in Nov. 2024. When to the dealership on 06.26.25 let them know the vibration while braking is happening again and I think it’s the rotors. They check them and rotors are warped again about only 6.5 months. The service manager said she will resurface them for me for no charge but then the service advisor said if they do that that the resurfacing is going to make me have to change the brake pads as I will end up in the red since my brake pads are in the yellow right now. I said then don’t resurface because I am not paying for the brake pads when that should’ve been done the first time the rotors were warped. I feel like I risk my life everyday driving this car to work 34miles one way.

I motor fan is constantly on when driving. It is 32F to 40F here in Hampton Roads. There is no reason the fan should be on. I have video of the fan running at 29 degrees F. I reported it to my local mazda 3 times. A person I know in another area reported the same problem and her local mazda dealer fixed it.

Headlight of the motor keeps rumbling in about 25000 miles of usage. Expense of fixing such a motor is estimated between 2500-2800$. Further, it is unknown how safe it would be for someone to keep driving such a car with a rumbling motor if they dont fix it. This sound and vibration of the motor can be felt even in a standing car when lights are on.

New 2023 Mazda CX5. We have experienced 2 Unintended Sudden Acceleration episodes. The most recent one was while backing down our driveway, the car suddenly accelerated when the brake was applied causing considerable damage to the car and house. Our front porch camera caught the entire episode showing that the brake lights were in fact on. Mazda needs to take responsibility and recall these vehicles to find out what is going on, as there are numerous other similar complaints for this car on this site and others.

I bought a new Premium Plus CX-5 in April of this year. Since I bought the car, occasionally I hear a sharp click or snap from the dashboard, particularly when it's warm outside and I have the AC on. I have video footage of the sound multiple times, but Mazda says they cannot replicate it. It sounds like a rock hitting the windshield type sound, but it's electronic and inside the car. Multiple Mazda dealerships in So Cal confirmed the noise. It is because the vents are chrome, aka plastic wrapped in thin metal. When the car cools, these will snap but not break / do any damage. This has been confirmed by at least 5 others on the internet. Please see this thread: [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Car’s (less than a month old)rear glass shattered when shut the driver side door. No prior damage or wild temperature fluctuations. Could have been dangerous if occurred while driving or someone sitting in back seat. Wondering if there’s a defect in glass, or install.

The power liftgate on the 2023 Mazda CX-5 SUV closes with sufficient force that the vehicle owner's manual warns of possible serious injury or even death, and cautions the operator to be sure that people or objects are not in the way of closure. However, the actual design of the overall system permits accidental closure by way of the key fob even when the operator is out of sight of the vehicle. This effectively renders the warnings meaningless, and disregards the safety of people or objects that might be in the way. The vehicle electronics/computer system uses dual purpose switches in or on the vehicle to activate the liftgate; if closed, a press of the switch will unlock and open it, and if open, the same switch will close and lock it. The system also provides the same feature with an exposed, raised button on the key fob which can easily be accidentally pressed to activate closure. Who then assumes liability for the possible resulting tragedy? During my first month of ownership (April 2023), I have experienced the liftgate opening by accident at least twice and it obviously could have been both opened and closed numerous times by accident totally without my knowledge. In a similar fashion, I have experienced the susceptibility of the other fob switches to accidental activation; the car has been locked by accident as least once, and the horn accidentally activated at least three times when I have been inside the house while the car is out of sight in the garage and the key fob was in my pocket. I am obviously making the reasonable assumption that accidental pressure on the various fob switches is the cause for activation. The attached PDF document describes in more detail some of the hazards posed by the existing design, and possibly applies to other car makes and models

4 month old car and brakes are rusted and rotor is warped. The car is shaky and rear right side grinder. Mechanic said it was safe to drive and that it was a “user error” for being to hard on the brakes. They said they inspected the vehicle and could not determine the “brown liquid” was. They cleaned what I assume was rust and claimed it was safe to drive again. Two weeks and three drives later it is grinding again, smelling smoky, and shaking. I feel unsafe driving the car. There were no warnings or messages when the symptoms first appeared. The car is available for inspection upon request. Although it has not directly put anyone at risk yet, I believe it is a matter of time before myself or someone else gets injured.
