WHILE DRIVING THE WHEEL AND STEERING BECAME IMPOSSIBLE TO CONTROL. THE CAR WAS ONLY STOPPED BY A WALL ON THE HIGHWAY. MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING AND HAD A HEART ATTACK DURING THIS INCIDENT WITH THE CAR. THE AIRBAG ON THE DRIVERS SIDE WAS DEPLOYED.

THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO GET THE BATTERY JUMPSTARTED AND DROVE TO NORTH FRONTIER AUTO WHERE THE CODES WERE CLEARED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TIMING CHAIN AND SOLENOID WERE DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE SOLENOID FAILURE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE TIMING CHAIN FAILURE WAS NOT. THE VEHICLE WAS RETURNED TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY STATED THAT THEY REPAIRED THE TIMING CHAIN. AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AXLE, BALL JOINT, AND CONTROL ARM WERE DETACHED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE THE FAILURES WERE CONFIRMED AND THE TIMING CHAIN WAS CONFIRMED TO BE INCORRECTLY INSTALLED BY THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 148,000.

NHTSA RECALL #16V-593 - THIS RECALL INDICATES THAT THERE IS THE RISK OF SIGNIFICANT LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH. THIS RECALL IS TAKING AN INORDINATE AMOUNT OF TIME, AND I THINK THAT IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT THIS BE EXPEDITED IN ORDER TO REPLACE THE PART BEFORE IT BECOMES A MORE SEVERE ISSUE WHICH COULD INCLUDE LITIGATION. THE STEERING CONTROL IS A VITAL PART OF THE OPERATION OF THIS VEHICLE AND I DON'T THINK THAT IT IS FEASIBLE OR FAIR TO THE OWNERS OF MAZDA VEHICLES TO BE PLACED IN SUCH A PRECARIOUS SITUATION. THIS ISSUE NEEDS TO BE ESCALATED SO THAT EXISTING OWNERS OF THESE VEHICLES CAN GET THE REPLACEMENT PARTS THAT ARE NEEDED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. MY VEHICLE IS BEGINNING TO EXPERIENCE SOME OF THESE STEERING ISSUES, AND I KEEP MY CAR PROPERLY MAINTAINED , BUT THE EXPENSE OF THE REPLACEMENT OF THESE CONTROL ARMS AT THIS TIME IS A DIFFICULT EXPENSE. PLEASE HELP ME TO HAVE THIS ISSUE ESCALATED.

WHILE TURNING ONTO A MAIN ROAD EXISTING A PARKING LOT, I BEGAN TO ACCELERATE, ALL OF A SUDDEN I HEARD A LOUD POP AND COULD NO LONGER STEER MY VEHICLE. MY VEHICLE SLOWED TO A COMPLETE STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. I CAREFULLY EXITED THE VEHICLE TO FIND THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE WHEEL SIDEWAYS. I WAS UNABLE TO MOVE MY VEHICLE FROM THE ROAD AND HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A LOCAL MAZDA DEALER. I WAS INFORMED THE BALL JOINT HAD SEPARATED FROM THE LOWER CONTROL ARM CAUSING $1,300 WORTH OF DAMAGE TO REPAIR THE AXLE SHAFT, LOWER CONTROL ARM, TIE ROD, SWAY BAR AND ALIGNMENT. I WAS ALSO INFORMED THE FRONT PASSENGER LOWER CONTROL ARM AND BALL JOINT WERE ALSO LOOSE AND IT WAS RECOMMEND THEY BE REPLACED, COSTING ME AN ADDITIONAL $500 IN REPAIRS. THE LOWER CONTROL ARM DEFECT I EXPERIENCED ON MY CX-7 IS THE SAME DEFECT AS THE MAZDA CX-9 RECALL (8515G). MY VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED IN MICHIGAN AND HAS BEEN DRIVEN ON MICHIGAN ROADS FOR THE PAST 8 YEARS. I BELIEVE THAT DRIVING ON MICHIGAN ROADWAYS DURING THE WINTER MONTHS FOR THE PAST 8 YEARS HAS LEAD TO ROADWAY SALTS AND WATER INTRUSION INTO THE BALL JOINT, CAUSING CORROSION, WHICH RESULTED IN LOOSENESS OF BOTH FRONT BALL JOINTS. AS A RESULT OF THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE BALL JOINT AND LOWER CONTROL ARM SEPARATING, MY VEHICLE WAS DAMAGED AND CAUSED A SERIOUS SAFETY RISK. THIS TYPE OF DAMAGE SHOULD NOT HAPPEN ON A CAR THAT IS ONLY 8 YEARS OLD. HAD THE CURRENT CX-9 LOWER CONTROL ARM RECALL APPLIED TO THE CX-7, MY CAR WOULD HAVE BEEN REPAIRED PRIOR TO BREAKING DOWN WHILE DRIVING. I BELIEVE THIS DEFECT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AS IT POSES A SERIOUS SAFETY RISK TO ALL OTHER CX-7 VEHICLES ON THE ROADWAY. IT IS MY RECOMMENDATION TO EXTEND THE CURRENT CX-9 RECALL TO ALL CX-7 VEHICLES.

THE SOUND OCCURRED MOST NOTABLY AT LOW SPEED WHILE TURNING SLOWLY, MANY TIMES WHILE BACKING UP AND TURNING, IT SOUNDED "DRY" AND LABORED, NOT A SQUEALING OR SQUEAKY SOUND. BUT I COULD NOT REPRODUCE THE NOISE AT THE DEALERSHIP, DESPITE MULTIPLE TRIPS AND HAVING THE MECHANIC SIT IN THE VEHICLE WITH ME. FINALLY THEY REPLACED THE "STRUT BEARINGS" IN 2013, THOUGH I HAD NEVER HEARD OF THIS PART BEFORE. THEY WERE CERTAIN THIS WOULD CORRECT THE PROBLEM BUT IT DID NOT. MY LAST TRIP TO THE DEALER IN OCT. 2014 LED THEM TO THINK THE STRUTS NEEDED REPLACING ALONG WITH THE STRUT BEARINGS, THOUGH THE LATTER WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. THE TIRES WERE REPLACED; HOWEVER, APPROXIMATELY 20,000 MILES AFTER THE REPLACEMENT OF THE TIRES THE TECHNICIAN AT THE DEALER STATED THE TIRES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AGAIN BECAUSE THEY WERE WORN. THE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED ON THE DASH BOARD. THE TECHNICIANS STATED THE DESIGN OF THE FRONT SUSPENSION WAS CAUSING THE TIRES TO WEAR ABNORMALLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 15,000.

AN EXCESS OF WHITE SMOKE EMITTED FROM EXHAUST UPON ACCELERATION AFTER A BRIEF PERIOD OF IDLE. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT A FAULTY TURBO CHARGER WAS TO BLAME. SO THE CAR WAS IN THE SHOP FOR 7 DAYS WHILE THEY REPLACED THE TURBO. SEVERAL MONTHS LATER THE CAR WOULDN'T START AFTER SITTING IN A HEATED GARAGE OVERNIGHT. IT SOUNDED AS THOUGH THE CYLINDERS WEREN'T FIRING PROPERLY. CAR WAS TOWED TO MECHANIC WHO IDENTIFIED ISSUE AS FOULED CYLINDER HEADS FROM PRIOR FAILURE OF TURBO. THIS TIME THE ENTIRE ENGINE WAS REPLACED. AGAIN THE CAR WAS IN THE SHOP FOR APPROXIMATELY SEVEN DAYS. SOME MONTHS LATER AN OPPRESSIVE AMOUNT OF ROAD NOISE APPEARED AT ALL SPEEDS ON ALL ROAD SURFACES. WE WERE DIRECTED THAT THE TIRES WERE TO BLAME. AFTER REPLACING ALL 4 TIRES AT A COST OF NEARLY $800 THE SOUND PERSISTED. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION THE TECHNICIAN FOUND THAT THE WHEEL SPEED SENSORS ON THE REAR WHEELS HAD FAILED ALLOWING WATER TO SEEP IN AND RUST REAR WHEEL BEARINGS. ALL FOUR WHEEL BEARINGS WHERE REPLACED. TODAY THE VEHICLE IS AGAIN IN FOR ENGINE REPAIR TO REPLACE THE OXYGEN SENSOR AND A DEAD BATTERY. AFTER OWNING THE CAR FOR 18 MONTHS IT IS HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP FOR A TOTAL OF APPROXIMATELY 4 WEEKS. *TR
I HAVE MY 2007 MAZDA FOR A YEAR AND IT HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR 1/2 THE TIME I'VE OWNED IT . IT IS THE WORST VEHICLE THAT MAZDA COULD HAVE MADE IT NEEDS TO BE RECALLED BECAUSE OF NUMEROUS PROBLEM SOMEONE IS GOING TO LOSE THERE LIFE. I HAVE HAD SO MANY THINGS DONE TO MY VEHICLE ACTUATOR 2 OIL ON THE ENGINE, TURBO WENT OUT, TIMING BELT , TIE ROD BROKE AND TIRE CAME OFF AND HIT A TRUCK, AIR CONDITIONING WENT OUT , THE LIST CAN GO ON AND ON JUST GOT IT BACK AFTER BEING REPAIRED AND IT HAS TO GO BACK TO THE SHOP ON FRIDAY THIS IS THE WORST CAR IN THE WORLD IT IS A LEMON MAZDA SHOULD BE SHAME OF THEMSELVES FOR SELLING THIS PIECE OF CRAP. *TR

I HAVE A 2007 MAZDA CX-7. IT IS A VERY BEAUTIFUL CAR BUT ALSO HAS TONS OF PROBLEMS. AT 15000 MILES IT WAS LEAKING OIL AND THEY REPLACE THE ENGINE GASKETS. THEN LATER WAS ALSO LEAKING OIL. WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER THAT IT WAS NOT. TOOK IT TO SOMEONE ELSE WHO SAID IT WAS LEAKING FROM THE TIMING CHAIN. MAZDA RESEALED IT. SINCE THEN MY CAR DOESN'T SHIFT PROPERLY GOING UP AND DOWN HILLS. MY AIR CONDITIONER IS HOT AND MAKES A FUNNY SOUND. MY CAR HAS LOSS OF POWER AND SOUND LIKE A DIESEL. OVERALL I THINK THAT MAZDA NEEDS TO STEP UP AND TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEMS OR THEY WILL NOT GET MANY RETURNING CUSTOMERS! SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE! IT WAS A 35000 DOLLAR CAR! *TR

MAZDA CX7 (FWD) EXHIBITS ABNORMAL TIRE WEAR(CUPPING,FEATHERING) ON ALL (4) TIRES AFTER LESS THAN 1000 MILES. BROUGHT THE CAR INTO THE PURCHASING DEALER WHO RE-BALANCED AND REALIGNED. TIRES CONTINUED TO EXHIBIT THE SAME WEAR AFTER 2000 MILES AND RIDE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS HAD SOME VIBRATION AND ROUGH FEEL AT LOWER SPEEDS. DEALER ONCE AGAIN REALIGNED VEHICLE AND INCREASED THE PSI ON ALL 4 TIRES TO 36PSI. AT JUST OVER 5000 MILES VEHICLE WAS BROUGHT INTO DEALER AGAIN, STILL CONTINUING TO SHOW ABNORMAL WEAR AND POOR RIDE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS (VIBRATION & ROUGH). DEALER REALIGNED AND RE-BALANCED ALL WHEELS AND ONCE AGAIN INCREASED TIRE INFLATION TO 36PSI. I LATER CONTACTED THE SERVICE MGR AND TOLD HIM THAT I DID NOT LIKE THE FACT THAT HE INCREASED THE TIRE PRESSURE OVER THE MANUFACTURERS RECOMMENDED SETTINGS AND THAT THIS WOULD CAUSE THE TIRE TO WEAR DOWN THE CENTER QUICKLY. *JB
