PASSENGER SIDE DASH STARTED MELTING ABOUT A YEAR AGO AND HAS GOTTEN SO BAD THE DASH IS ALMOST LIQUID. SUNLIGHT REFLECTS OFF THE SHINY MELTED DASH AND BLINDS THE DRIVER. I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT BECAUSE I COULDN'T SEE DUE TO LIGHT REFLECTING OFF MELTED DASH. DASH IS SO STICKY THAT YOU CANNOT TOUCH OR IT WILL STICK TO HANDS/ CLOTHING. I HAVE RUINED MULTIPLE ITEMS OF CLOTHING DUE TO THIS MESS.

HEADLIGHT ON BOTH SIDES GO OUT OFTEN. AFTER HAVING THIS ISSUE FAR TOO MANY TIMES, I LOOKED ONLINE HOPING TO FIND A SOLUTION AND DISCOVERED MULTIPLE MAZDA OWNERS ARE HAVING SAME PROBLEM. ITS A MALFUNCTION IN THE MAZDA THAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED BY MAZDA. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AT NIGHT TO HAVE HAPPENING WAY TO OFTEN. AS FOR THE AIR BAG- IVE HAD MY MAZDA TO A MAZDA DEALERSHIP FOR THE RECALLS AND THE AIR BAG WAS KNE OF THEM. SINCE THEN, TWICE NOW, THE 'AIRBAG/FRONT SEAT BELT PRETENSIONER SYSTEM MALFUNCTION' LIGHT IS FLASHING WHILE DRIVING. I LOOKED IT UP, AND BY THE SOUNDS OF IT, MY AIRBAG IS MALFUNCTIONING?! ANOTHER DANGEROUS SITUATION ON THE MAZDA 6.

WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, A LOUD NOISE WAS HEARD AND THE STEERING LOST POWER WITHOUT WARNING. MY MAZDA WAS RECALLED DUE TO AIR BAG INFLATOR THAT COULD EXPLODE RESULTING IN SHARP METAL FRAGMENTS STRIKING THE PASSENGER OR OTHER VEHICLE OCCUPANTS. WHEN I CALLED MY MAZDA DEALER TO GET IT IN TO BE FIXED I WAS TOLD THE PARTS ARE ON BACK ORDER AT MAZDA AND THEY COULD NOT GIVE ME AN ETA ON WHEN THEY WOULD GET PARTS IN. HOW CAN MAZDA ALLOW IT'S CUSTOMERS TO CONTINUE DRIVING THEIR CAR WITH NO RECOURSE TO GIVE US A RENTAL CAR IN THE MEANTIME IF THEY CAN'T FIX AN ISSUE THAT I WOULD CONSIDER EXTREMELY SERIOUS AND NEEDING TO BE FIXED IMMEDIATELY? MY WIFE IS PREGNANT AND WE HAVE A TODDLER WHO RIDES IN A CARSEAT IN THE BACKSEAT AND WE NOW FEEL UNSAFE TO DRIVE OUR CAR. I WOULD EXPECT THIS MATTER TO BE TAKEN MUCH MORE SERIOUSLY THAN IT IS. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED INJURIES TO THE NECK AND NOSE, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO A TOWING FACILITY. THE FAILURE MILEAGE AND VIN WERE UNKNOWN.

DOOR LOCK SCREWS ARE UNSAFE; NEED TO BE CHECKED/REPLACED; 3. DASHBOARD HAS BEEN RECALLED DUE TO TURNING INTO A STICKY NASTY LOOKING MESS. THE WHOLE RIGHT SIDE (PASSENGER SIDE) HAS BECOME SO STICKY THAT DUST, CLOTH, EVERYTHING STICKS TO IT, AND IT CANNOT BE CLEANED. WHAT'S REALLY AWFUL IS THAT THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT THE CAR NOW NO LONGER SELLS MAZDAS. THE FIRST 2 SITUATIONS ARE DANGEROUS; & THE 3RD IS HORRIBLY UNSIGHTLY. TAKATA RECALL-WE BOUGHT A MAZDA 6 GRAN TOURING CAR IN 2010, VIN# [XXX]. IT CURRENTLY HAS ONLY 65,060 MILES. ON JULY 2016 WE RECEIVED A NOTICE THAT MAZDA CORP. DECIDED THAT A PASSENGER AIR BAG INFLATOR DEFECT EXISTS IN OUR CAR AND THAT THERE WAS A SAFETY RECALL ESPECIALLY FOR CARS IN CENTRAL FLORIDA BECAUSE OF CONSISTENT HIGH HUMIDITY. IN AUGUST WE TOOK THE CAR TO JENKINS MAZDA IN OCALA WHERE WE BOUGHT IT. THEY SAID THAT THEY WOULD TRY TO EXPEDITE THE REPLACEMENT BECAUSE IT WOULD BE DANGEROUS TO DRIVE.IN SEPTEMBER THE REPLACEMENT STILL HAD NOT COME SO THEY ASKED US TO STORE THE CAR WITH THEM. OUR CAR WAS THERE AT THE JENKINS MAZDA CAR LOT FOR MORE THAN 3 MONTHS. WE DID NOT USE THE CAR BECAUSE WE WERE AFRAID TO DRIVE IT. AAA CAME TO THE HOUSE AND TESTED THE BATTERY AND THEY CONCLUDED THAT BECAUSE IT WAS NOT USED FOR SEVERAL MONTHS THE BATTERY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. HOWEVER, WE NOTICED THAT THE NAVIGATION SCREEN WAS GIVING A MESSAGE ?A PROGRAM CANNOT BE READ. PLEASE CONSULT DEALER.? WE CALLED [XXX] AND THEY SAID COMEBACK AND WHILE REPLACING THE AIR BAG PART THEY WOULD FIX THE NAVIGATION SCREEN.ON JANUARY 17 2017 THE PART WAS REPLACED, BUT THEY COULDN?T FIX THE NAVIGATION SCREEN. THEY THEN SAID THAT THEY WOULD TALK TO THEIR SERVICE REP IN JACKSONVILLE ABOUT IT.ON FEBRUARY 10 AFTER TRADING MANY PHONE CALLS WITH THE [XXX] SERVICE MGR. IN OCALA, HE SAID THAT AFTER TALKING TO HIS SERVICE REP IN JACKSONVILLE THE REP FELT THE SCREEN IS OUR RESPONSIBILITY AND THEY WOULDN?T REPAIR IT BUT INSTEAD PUT A NEW ONE IN FOR $5500. THE DASHBOARD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE IS MADE OF A MATERIAL THAT MELTS DURING HOT SUNNY PERIODS AND TAKES ON A REFLECTIVE SURFACE WHICH ACTS LIKE A MIRROR. WHEN SUNLIGHT HITS THE SURFACE NOT ONLY IS THE SUN REFLECTED OFF THE SURFACE OF THE DASHBOARD BUT IT'S ALSO PROJECTED ONTO THE WINDSHIELD INSTANTLY BLINDING THE DRIVER OF THE RIGHT HALF OF THE ENTIRE WINDSHIELD, TURNING THE WHOLE SIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD INTO YET ANOTHER MIRROR BOUNCING DIRECT SUNLIGHT INTO THE EYES OF THE DRIVER INSTANTLY BLINDING THEM. VISIBILITY IS SUBSTANTIALLY REDUCED AND IT BECOMES EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO SEE OTHER MOTORISTS ON THE ROAD. ALSO THIS MELTED DASHBOARD IS THE SURFACE OF THE PASSENGER FRONT AIRBAG. BOTH CREATE SAFETY HAZARDS FOR ME AND MY FAMILY YET THE MELTED DASHBOARD HAS BEEN AN ISSUE FOR OVER TWO YEARS AND I AM STILL AWAITING FROM MAZDA THE SECOND LETTER THEY PROMISED TO SEND ME TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO REPAIR. THE RUBBER OR PLASTIC THAT IS MELTING IS CONVERTING INTO A GLUE LIKE SUBSTANCE THAT GETS ON MY CLOTH SEATS AND WORST OF ALL, IN MY WINDSHIELD WHICH CAUSES GLARE AND DISRUPTS MY VISION. I END UP HAVING TO REMOVE IT WITH OTHER MATERIAL THAT CAUSES MY WINDSHIELD TO BECOME STICKY. THE MATERIAL ENDS UP IN MY STEERING WHEEL RESULTING IN ADDITIONAL SAFETY ISSUES.
