2018 MERCEDES BENZ C 300 Unknown Or Other Problems

Rearview Camera is not displayed when the vehicle is placed in reverse. The display shows a black screen. A Recall Notice has been published for other vehicles of the same year, make, and model. The failure of the Rearview Camera results in safety risks during normal use of the vehicle.

The day after I purchased my c300, the engine light popped on. I went back to dealer and they said it was a recall because of a crank case (PCV). I was upset because they never said anything about it. This was April of 2024. Note:(This Dealer was not Ray Catina’s of Edison). I went to Ray Catina’s in Edison for them to inspect car and I have been calling because I was told it was a national recall and it was on back order and should be here in June. It is now almost August and I called on the 23rd of July and received a call from Ray Catena on the 24th for them to tell me that “they were told that the new plan from Mercedes is to bring my car in and they will clear code. That’s what they are told to do.” To me, this is NOT fixing the issue. I am a little aggravated because I bought my car on [XXX] and have NOT been able to feel good because not sure what ramifications will come with me driving my car with this issue. I was told that driving with this engine light on and code that it will not harm my car. They now say Mercedes was told to reset the code and that will resolve issue? Was sold Car Feb,27,2024 from dealership the car violently vibrates at 60mph took it to 3 Repair shops

Sun roof not opening. Mechanic notified me that this is a known issue, but no recall at this time.

There are Water intrusion that happened to other Model of Mercedes, my car have the same problem, when i bring it to the Mercedes dealer, they found a lot of water inside the trunk, but they insisted that I had accident, but there no accident that I know of.

C300 Crankcase Ventilation Valve Code P052E

According to the dealership, if the car is not started every 3 days, it will shut itself down. The car was towed 6 times, I'm a business woman, my coworkers, friends drives Mercedes Benz, and no one have heard of any such issues. Any cheaper cars, after 2 weeks at the airport, the car starts. Something is wrong with the car, something is draining the car battery if not started every 3/ 4 days. They are taking advantage to the fact, that I'm a female and older. They need to replace the car, fix, or junk their car. Someone needs to take responsibility for the repair of the car.

The check engine light came on with the error code P052E - PCV valve failure while the car is only driven for less than 38K miles. I am worried about the quality of the car/engine.

My c300 2018 only has 50k and suddenly the engine light is on, when I check it shows that I need the Positive Crankcase ventilation valve replaced. it cost $2300. As I know a lot of people who own Mercedes have the same problem. Three mechanics claim it on almost all C, CLA, and GLA models. Please make Mercedes recall it finally.

Rear camera doesn’t work

The fault code P052E71 is logged in the fault memory of the engine control unit. Cause: Possible cause: The component or the electrical actuation at the partial load crankcase ventilation valve (Y58/2) may be faulty or might not activate initially.

This is 2018 Mercedes Benz - C300 and it seems across this model line up and models from that year it looks like headliner particularly fabric starts to separate from the pillars in the rear. Across google there is bunch of C300 with the same issue in the same spot starting. The Car is only 5 years old and if it would be any other brand I would not be to upset about it. But this is Mercedes and they pride themselves of being a " Luxury " Vehicle where their standards should be much higher. Needles to say we contacted and went to one of the Mercedes Dealership that we got charged $226 for the inspection and Mercedes did not honored to replace the defect nor MBUSA - did not helped either. This is the problem across the model . Be AWARE and take this into consideration when thinking of purchasing this particular model year C300.

I have a 2018 C class. Purchased it with 32k mikes 12/21. April 2022 I started experiencing issues. When I put my car in drive/reverse the gears shift it’s self back to neutral. When I’m stopped at a light it will take me out of drive and shift it’s self in neutral. I’ve taken my car to the Mercedes dealer for a diagnostics paid out of pocket and they were unable to find the issue. This is a major safety concern and I would like to be contacted as it is unsafe to drive and no one seems to be able to locate the issue so it can be repaired.

Engine light is on recently on my 2018 C300. Car has 36000 miles on it. It is diagnosed as the valve for the crankcase ventilation. The actuator was blocked.

The sunroof on the vehicle jams and either stays partially open or won’t close in the rear completely. I finally got it to close but it will not open again. I know multiple mercedes owners who have this issue with the sunroof and if the sunroof will continue to not lock properly this could be a hazard on the highway if the brackets were to break and the glass slides off.

To Whom It May Concern, I bought this certified preowned Mercedes Benz, and the recall is open. I have taken the car to the dealership, they deny me from service because its an over the air recall. The Mercedes Benz website clearly states on their letter for consumer that the remedy for this recall can be taken care at the dealership free of charge or an over the air update. Its July and I got the car back in February.

FORWARD COLLISON SYSTEM ($1700 OPTION) AEB, DOES NOT WORK AS DESCRIBED IN MB LITERATURE OR WEBSITE. IN MY OPINION, THE FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM (AEB) IN MY 7 MO. OLD 2018 MERCEDES C300 SIMPLY DOES NOT WORK. I SPECIAL ORDERED THE CAR WITH THE 997 PKG THAT INCLUDES, DRIVER ASSISTANCE, BAS+, AND DISTRONIC THE MB MANUAL STATES: 'IF ACTIVE BRAKE ASSIST DETECTS THAT THERE IS A RISK OF COLLISION, YOU WILL BE WARNED VISUALLY AND ACOUSTICALLY. IF YOU DO NOT REACT AUTONOMOUS BRAKING CAN BE INITIATED IN CRITICAL SITUATIONS.' AND FURTHER THAT 'AUTONOMOUS BRAKING WORKS AT 4-124MPH FOR MOVING OBJECTS AND 4-31 MPH FOR STATIONARY OBJECTS.'
