Me, [XXX], and my ex-wife went to buy this car from a auto auction, plate where out state, but I figure wouldn't cost me much to register, bought it February 6, 2021 and I am kind of short in money to register car but then couple week after driving check engine pop up so I had free check engine by auto zone parts, so then it wasn't serious needed change oil change and filters, so I drove more so everything was going good ready for smoke check, but i didn't have the money so I ask my ex-wife to let me borrow money around May of month, so I was driving to her home, and out of no where I got hit in the front driver side lower fender from some silver low profile car, I was going 30's mile street but when I got hit by anomies driver the driver side bag pop up and also the passenger side too!! I was stunt and confused, wasn't a hard hit, driver that hit me run off, I pulled over the side of street. Couple light show up in dash board I don't recall what they said. I called my lawyer an he mention there was problems and recalls in a TAKATA air bag deploying. I did a research and sure enough my car had takata air bags. I made the report, on June 16, 2921 they sent a email that they will fallow up and investigate, I did sent pictures and mileage 150,000 around there so am still waiting for their action. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACTS RESIDENCE AND LATER TOWED TO AN INSURANCE TOW LOT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WILL BE AN INVESTIGATION AND DID NOT OFFER FURTHER ASSISTANCE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 117,000.

TAKATA RECALL MERCEDES SENT ME A LETTER SAYING MY LOCAL DEALER HAD PARTS TO FIX THE AIRBAG. MY LOCAL MERCEDES DEALER SAID MERCEDES DID NOT SEND THEM ANY PARTS FOR ME. MY CAR IS NOT FIXED AND NOBODY IS DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THE CAR SPENT MOST OF ITS LIFE IN GA ONE OF THE ZONES THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIXED FIRST. I CANNOT CUT THROUGH THE DISHONESTY WITHOUT HELP.

TOOK CAR TO DEALERSHIP FOR RECALL SERVICE ON DRIVER AIRBAG MODULE, AFTER DRIVING AWAY ONCE JOB WAS FINISHED NOTICED I WAS UNABLE TO TURN STEERING WHEEL AND THE STEERING WANTED TO LOCK WHILE DRIVING.SRS LIGHT REMAINED ON. SMOKE CAME OUT FROM UNDER THE HOOD AND CAR WAS NOT OVERHEARING, I CALLED DEALERSHIP AND SERVICE ADVISOR WAS GONE AND WAS NOT OFFERED ANY ADDITIONAL HELP. I DROVE CAR SLOWLY TO MY HOME AND PARKED IT ON THE STREET BECAUSE I WAS UNABLE TO DRIVE TO THE DRIVEWAY. I OPENED HOOD AND SMOKE WAS COMING FROM POWER STEERING RESERVOIR AND ALSO LEAKING FLUID.I DID NOT HAVE ANY ISSUES DRIVING MY VEHICLE PRIOR TO THIS RECALL SERVICE. I WAS PUT ENDANGER ALONG WITH MY 2 KIDS AND NOW HAVING TO FIX OTHER COSTLY REPAIRS AND HAVE NO ADDITIONAL VEHICLE TO DRIVE. FLIE SIZE OF PICTURE EXCEEDS UPLOAD LIMITS.

JUST YESTERDAY (15 SEPTEMBER) WE WERE TOLD THAT NHTSA WAS DETERMINING WHEN THE PARTS WOULD BE MADE AVAILABLE TO MERCEDES-BENZ, AND THAT THERE IS NO WAY MBUSA CAN TELL US EVEN APPROXIMATELY WHEN THE VEHICLE CAN BE REPAIRED. THE DEALER SAID THAT THE NHTSA WAS IN CHARGE OF THE COORDINATED REPLACEMENT PLAN. THAT'S NOT WHAT YOUR WEB SITE SAYS. MBUSA CLAIMS THE VEHICLE IS COMPLETELY SAFE TO DRIVE, EVEN THOUGH IT IS EQUIPPED WITH THE SAME TAKATA PSDI-5 DRIVERS-SIDE AIRBAG INFLATOR WHICH HAS KILLED AT LEAST TEN PEOPLE IN OTHER AUTOMOBILES. MBUSA BASES THIS CLAIM ON THE ASSERTION THAT THERE HAS NOT BEEN A REPORTED DEATH OR INJURY CAUSED BY A DEFECTIVE AIRBAG INFLATOR IN A MERCEDES VEHICLE TO DATE. TO USE THAT ASSERTION AS THE BASIS FOR PUTTING MANY THOUSANDS OF MOTORISTS AT AN INCREASED RISK OF DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY IN MERCEDES-BENZ VEHICLES SEEMS HIGHLY IRRESPONSIBLE. I WAS DRIVING MY THREE MONTH OLD 07 MERCEDES BENZ C230 SPORT SEDAN. I HAD 1 PASSENGER WITH ME AND I ENTERED THE INTERSECTION IN THE#1 LANE AND I FELT AN IMPACT TO THE DRIVER DOOR AS THE AIRBAG DEPLOYED. I STEERED THE STEERING WHEEL TO THE RIGHT , CAUSING THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE TO FISHTAIL IN THE ISLAND. AS I WENT ACROSS THE LANES I STEERED TO THE LEFT TO AVOID THE FRONT END. MY PASSENGER REAR TIRE HIT THE CURB. AS I EXITED THE VEHICLE I NOTICED THERE WERE NO OTHER VEHICLES AROUND AND NOTHING IN THE ROADWAY. THE CAR HAD NO DAMAGE, JUST SCRATCHES TO THE BODY. MERCEDES SENT A REPRESENTATIVE, WHO DETERMINED ME THAT I MUST HAVE RAN OVER SOMETHING IN THE ROAD, CAUSING THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR TIRE TO LOCK, WHICH RESULTED IN LOSS OF CONTROL OVER THE VEHICLE. IT HIT THE CURB, CAUSING THE AIRBAG TO DEPLOY. I WENT OUT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO TAKE A LOOK UNDERNEATH THE VEHICLE. I OBSERVED NO DAMAGE UNDERNEATH. THE ONLY DAMAGE WAS TO THE INSIDE REAR DRIVER SIDE TIRE WHICH HAD A LIGHT SCRATCH MARK WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN A DENT. THEY STATED IT WAS MY PROBLEM, AND THEY DID NOT SEE ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE AIRBAG. I CONTACTED MERCEDES BENZ COLLISION CENTER ABOUT AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT. MECHANIC STATED THE SENSOR FROM THE DRIVERS SIDE WAS IN THE DOOR AND SHOULD HAVE GONE OFF IF SOMETHING HIT THE RIGHT POINT. I CONTACTED MERCEDES BENZ CORPORATION ASKING TO SPEAK TO THE REPRESENTATIV E WHO CAME OUT WITH THE DECISION, THEY DENIED MY REQUEST. I INFORMED MERCEDES BENZ THAT MAYBE THERE WAS NO A DEFECT IN OTHER MERCEDES BENZ VEHICLES, BUT THERE WAS ONE WITH MINE.
