1.What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? The fuel system failure is a highly critical safety concern, and my life is at risk. It causes malfunctions with the vehicle, for example, the OBD-based emissions test has flagged a lot of (codes P219A, P0300, P0304, P0410, P0305, P0303, P0171, P0301) 5 of the cylinder misfire codes with the check engine light on, as well affecting other parts in the vehicle function properly, acceleration issues, car stalling as though it’s going to shut off. This is a serious matter and Mercedes-Benz is failing to prioritize customer safety, over cost especially when known faults in the vehicle can lead to potentially life-threatening incidents such as fuel leaks and fire hazards. Yes, the vehicle is available for further inspection upon request immediately each day my life is at risk. 2.How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? My safety and other's safety are put at risk every time I get out on the road to drive my car it's putting me and other' live in serious danger (especially with the extreme increase in car accidents in the local Nashville, TN area). Despite the vehicle now being 3,000 miles over the 150,000-mile extended warranty threshold. I recently purchased the car on [XXX] and was not made aware of Mercedes Benz having any extended warranty coverage for the faulty fuel system that Mercedes-Benz had placed on this model. I can only assume the previous owner the car was reposed from was also unaware of this as well. I believe Mercedes-Benz should still cover the cost of this repair. The fuel system failure is a critical safety concern, and Mercedes-Benz should prioritize customer safety, especially knowing there were faults of poor quality that they discovered with their vehicles and can lead to potentially life-threatening incidents such as fuel leaks and fire hazards. Apr 12, 2024 Crash

I was in a collision and the airbags did not deploy. There was a recall on airbags for the Mercedes C300 within the year my vehicle was made, however, the recall did not include my VIN. Also, the sunroof drain is faulty, which was also recalled on other Mercedes C300s within the same production year, again not my VIN, but upon inspection by a certified dealership, it appears to be the same issue as other recalled vehicles.

The sam box (electrical system fuze panel) located under the hood is in a spot where if the lid isn't on correctly water will drain from the windshield right into the sam box and cause the vehicles electrical system to deploy the steering wheel airbag. That's at least what happened to me. It was raining out that day and I guess I went over a bump that caused the lid of the sam to get out of place. I drove home and the car seat for a few hours. I went out upon unlocking the door as soon as I pulled the handle to open the driver side door the steering wheel airbag blew and the vehicle is now in srs mode. The dealership had told me that it's a design flaw but wants me to pay for the diagnostic. No lights were on and I did not file a police report.

The airbags were supposed to have been fixed per recall by carriage house Mercedes in new London ct. my son was in a horrible front in collision and they did not deploy. None of them did. Accident happened 3 days ago insurance will pick up car today. I’d like this noted incase they need evidence

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2011 Mercedes-Benz C300. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V081000 (Air Bags) and 19V010000 (Air Bags). The vehicle was taken to a local dealer for the recall repair; however, the vehicle remained at the dealer awaiting parts for the repair. The manufacturer was contacted and was unable to confirm when the parts would become available. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

I RECEIVED NOTICE OF AIRBAG RECALLS IN 2016. FINALLY RECEIVED A LETTER FROM MERCEDES BENZ USA STATING THEY HAD AIRBAGS IN SEPTEMBER 2019. (THIS WAS AFTER CALLING DEALER REPEATEDLY REGARDING AIRBAGS AND TOLD THERE WASN'T A SOLUTION YET). TRIED CALLING MERCEDES BENZ DEALER-AUTONATION MERCEDES BELLEVUE WA. COULD NOT GET THRU , COULD NOT LEAVE MESSAGE IT WAS VERY FRUSTRATING. FINALLY CALLED SALES- RECEPTIONIST WALKED BACK TO SERVICE AND I GOT TO SPEAK TO CUSTOMER SERVICE REP. EMAILED MERCEDES BENZ USA ON 10/-5/19 @ 0923. MAIN OFFICE CONTACTED AUTONATION MERCEDES BELLEVUE CALLED ME AND SCHEDULED AIRBAG REPLACEMENT 11/08/19@0900. LEFT MY VEHICLE ALL DAY- DRIVER AND PASSENGER AIRBAG REPLACEMENT. AT 1600 WAS CALLED AND TOLD THEY DIDN'T HAVE AIRBAGS. SO DROVE MY CAR HOME- WITHOUT REPLACEMENT AIRBAGS. WAS TOLD SIRBAGS WERE REORDERED AND THEY WOULD CALL WHEN IN. NO CALL WAS RECEIVED/ CALLED SEVERAL TIMES SPOKE WITH SERVICE REP CHAD, FINALLY WAS RESCHEDULED FOR DECEMBER 2019- WAS CALLED AN HOUR LATER AND CANCELLED. HAVE NOT HEARD FROM THEM SINCE. THE DEALER SAID THAT THE AIRBAGS WERE ON BACKORDER FROM THE MANUFACTURE WITH NO TIMELINE FOR POTENTIAL REPLACEMENT. PER INSTRUCTIONS ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE I AM FILLING OUT THIS FORM TO LET THE NHTSA KNOW THE MANUFACTURE HAS FAILED / IS UNABLE TO REMEDY THIS DANGEROUS SAFETY RECALL IN A TIMELY MANNER

THEY NEVER CONTACT. 2) I KEEP GETTING POSTCARDS FROM MERCEDES BENZ THAT PARTS ARE AVAILABLE, HOWEVER, I HAVE LEFT MESSAGES FOR THEIR ASSIGNED RECALL PERSON WHO NEVER HAS TIME TO CALL BACK THEY ARE DRAGGING THEIR FEET ON THIS MATTER HOPING I'LL GO AWAY AND FORGET ABOUT IT

AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, A DEER RAN ACROSS THE OPPOSITE SIDE LANE OF TRAFFIC AND COLLIDED WITH THE DRIVERS SIDE AND WINDSHIELD. THE ENTIRE DEER LANDED IN DRIVERS LAP AND PASSENGERS SIDE SEATS. NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. STATEFARM AND STATE TROOPER REPORTS WITH PHOTOS TAKEN. BOTH OCCUPANTS WERE TAKEN TO ER BY AMBULANCE AND TREATED.

WE HAVE CALLED THE DEALER EVERY 6 MONTHS AND THEY ALWAYS SAY "TAKATA HAS NOT SENT US PARTS" THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE FOR A LIFE CRITICAL PART SUCH AS AN AIRBAG THAT CAN EXPLODE. NOTHING BUT EXCUSES. EVERY TIME WE DRIVE THIS VEHICLE WE ARE WORRIED ABOUT THE AIRBAGS. THIS IS THE 4TH MB WE HAVE OWNED AND ITS LIKELY THE LAST DUE TO THE WAY THIS RECALL HAS BEEN HANDLED.

I GET A LETTER PER YEAR FORM MERCEDES STATING THEY ARE LOOKING INTO IT. I HAVE CALLED THE LOCAL DEALER MANY TIMES. TAKATA RECALL. SEVERAL YEARS AGO I WAS INFORMED THAT MY MB VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN THE CARS IMPACTED WITH FAULTY TAKATA AIRBAGS FOR BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER. I JUST CALLED MBUSA AND WAS TOLD THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY UPDATED INFORMATION AS TO WHEN SAFE AIRBAGS WILL BE INSTALLED IN MY CAR. MERCEDES-BENZ USA, LLC. ON 10/30/17, I HAD TO PAY 3445.13 FOR A REPAIR MY BALANCE SHAFTS GEARS, WHICH WE'RE DEEMED DEFECTIVE IN ALL M272 ENGINES WHICH IS IN MY C300. HOWEVER, IN THE ABOVE MENTIONED LAW SUIT, THIS PROBLEM WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE BEEN CORRECTED. WHEN I BROUGHT THIS TO THE ATTENTION TO THE MERCEDES-BENZ OF MODESTO TECHNICIANS, THEY SAID I MISSED THE CUT-OFF DATE BY ONE YEAR. THEY ACKNOWLEDGED I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM AND CHECKED TO SEE IF I QUALIFIED FOR A FREE REPAIR, BUT LATER CLAIMED, THE ISSUE WITH THE DEFECTIVE BALANCE SHAFTS GEARS HAD BEEN ADDRESSED. HOW CAN THAT BE WHEN I INCURRED THE SAME PROBLEM. THE REPAIR SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY. MY CAR HAS TWO RECALLS FOR THE AIRBAGS WHICH MEANS MY CAR CAN NOT BE TRADED IN BECAUSE IT'S NOT RESALEABLE. THESE RECALLS ARE NOT MINORITY'S AND WE RISK SERIOUS INJURY OR POSSIBLE DEATH BECAUSE MERCEDES CAN FIX THE PROBLEM. REASSURANING KNOWING IF YOU'RE EVER IN AN ACCIDENT YOUR AIRBAGS MAY DISTINCTION DURING IMPACT OR BE THE REASON YOU DIE. TAKATA AIRBAG RECALL - THE RECALL LETTER THAT I RECEIVED JANUARY 31, 2018 STATES THAT THE PART TO REPAIR THE CAR WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE UNTIL SEPTEMBER 2018 FOR THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG AND SEPTEMBER 2019 FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG. I DON'T WANT MY WIFE DRIVING THIS CAR UNTIL THE FIX/REPAIR IS DONE. TWO YEARS IS A LONG TIME TO WAIT FOR PARTS. WE WANT A LOANER VEHICLE PROVIDED BY THE MANUFACTURER.

ALTHOUGH I HAVE CONTACTED MY LOCAL MERCEDESS DEALERSHIP ABOUT FIVE TIMES ON THIS ISSUE, I AM ADVISED THEY ARE STILL UNABLE TO SERVICE EITHER AIRBAG. THIS IS OF PRIMARY CONCERN TO ME AS I AM A SINGLE 48 YEAR OLD FEMALE, WHO HAS AN ONLY CHILD (SON) WHO IS 12 YEARS OF AGE. ASIDE FROM HIM LOSING HIS FATHER IN JANUARY 2017 - I ALSO TAKE CARE OF MY 78 YEAR OLD MOTHER. THERE ARE NO OTHER CLOSE RELATIVES OUTSIDE OF US SO I TRULY NEED TO TAKE EVERY PRECAUTION AT SAFETY. TAKATA RECALL. IN MAY 2016, I RECEIVED A NOTICE FROM MERCEDES BENZ THAT MY CAR IS AFFECTED BY THE RECALL. I HAVE WRITTEN AND CALLED MERCEDES BENZ USA AND MY DEALER A NUMBER OF TIMES SINCE THEN AND THEY TELL ME THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE THE REPLACEMENT AIR BAGS YET. THEY SAY THEY ARE WAITING ON NHTSA TO GET MANUFACTURERS TO GET THE REPLACEMENTS MADE AND OUT TO THE AUTO DEALERS. NOW THAT TAKATA FILED BANKRUPTCY, MANUFACTURING THE AIRBAGS HAS BECOME MORE OF A PROBLEM. IT IS HARD TO UNDERSTAND HOW A PROBLEM WITH THE AIRBAGS STARTED IN 2013, EXPANDED GREATLY IN 2014/2015, AND THE CONSUMER IS STILL NOT ABLE TO GET THE RECALLED AIRBAGS REPLACED. CORPORATIONS MUST BE HELD RESPONSIBLE. I SEE A LOT OF DOCUMENTS ABOUT THIS, BUT IT SEEMS LIKE VERY LITTLE IS GETTING DONE TO GET THE AIRBAGS REPLACED IN A TIMELY MANNER. TO THIS DAY 11/06/2017 MBUSA HAD MADE NO ATTEMPT TO CONTACT ME OR PROVIDE A SOLUTION. THE REAR SEAT-BELTS LOCKUP ON PASSENGERS AND RATCHET DOWN CONSISTENTLY WITH LITTLE MOVEMENT THEREBY REQUIRING THE PASSENGERS TO UNFASTEN THEIR BELTS AND RIDE WITHOUT THE SEAT BELT BEING FASTENED. MERCEDES USA SAID IT WILL NOT HAVE AIRBAGS TO REPLACE IN MY CAR UNTIL LATE 2018 FROM NHTSA. MERCEDES BENZ'S RESPONSE IS THAT NO ONE HAS YET DIED IN ONE OF ITS VEHICLES DUE TO TAKATA AIRBAGS. MERCEDES HAS DIRECTED VICTIMS OF THESE DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS TO THE NHTSA NATIONAL HIGHWAY AND SAYS THE BAGS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE TO REPLACE UNTIL LATE 2018 WHEN NHTSA RELEASES THEM. I'VE ALREADY WAITED AND RISKED MY LIFE FOR MORE THAN A YEAR, ACTUALLY 4 YEARS. MERCEDES COULD CARE LESS. MY REQUEST IS THAT MERCEDES RETURN THIS CAR FOR THE SIMPLE FACT THIS CAR IS A 2011. IT WAS WIDELY REPORTED IN THE WALL STREET JOURNAL AND OTHER NEWS OUTLETS THAT HONDA AND TAKATA FOUND OUT THE BAGS WERE DEADLY AND DEFECTIVE AS FAR BACK AT LEAST AS 2001, HOWEVER, KEPT IT UNDER WRAPS. MERCEDES KNEW WHEN IT MADE THE DECISION TO PURCHASE THESE AIR BAGS AND INSTALL THEM INTO LATER MODEL VEHICLES, PROBABLY AT DRASTIC DISCOUNTS, THAT THE DEFECTIVE BAGS WERE NO GOOD AND WORSE POTENTIALLY DEADLY. ALREADY PEOPLE HAD DIED FROM THESE AIRBAGS. I DON'T WANT TO BE THE FIRST ONE TO DIE IN A MERCEDES DUE TO THESE AIRBAGS. I JUST HEARD BACK FROM THE NATIONAL TRANSPORTATION SAFETY BOARD, WHO SAID THAT MERCEDES IS MISINFORMING CONSUMERS. IT DOES NOT HAVE AIRBAGS THAT WILL BE RELEASED IN 2018. TAKATA RECALL--MY 2011 MERCEDES BENZ C300 HAD RECALLS FOR DRIVER AND ALSO PASSENGER AIRBAGS ON 2/11/16 AND 5/23/16 RESPECTIVELY. CURRENTLY THERE ARE NO REPLACEMENT AIRBAGS AVAILABLE. THANK GOODNESS, MY VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT THAT DEPLOYED THE AIRBAGS. BUT, I DON'T FEEL SAFE IN THE VEHICLE AS THE DEPLOYMENT OF THE AIRBAGS COULD CAUSE DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY FOR THE DRIVER AND/ OR THE PASSENGER. I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO MERCEDES ONCE WHO TOLD ME IT WAS A DUMMY LIGHT AND WAS CLEARED. SEVERAL DAYS LATER IT CAME BACK ON AND MY CALLS TO THE SHOP WERE NOT RETURNED. I THEN LEARNED OF THIS RECALL AND WHEN FINALLY REACHING SOMEONE WAS TOLD IT MAY BE RELATED AND THAT I WILL RECEIVE INSTRUCTIONS WHEN A REPAIR WAS FOUND. IT'S BEEN AT LEAST A YEAR AND EVERY DAY I START MY VEHICLE I AM REMINDED THAT I OR ANY PASSENGERS IN MY CAR COULD BE AT RISK IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT. TAKATA RECALL -- WHAT OTHER ALTERNATIVES ARE AVAILABLE SINCE THE MANUFACTURERS ARE TAKING FOREVER TO COMPLETE THIS PROCESS? DOES ANYONE IN AMERICA MAKE AIRBAGS? I TOOK MY CAR TO TYSINGER TODAY AND ASKED THEM TO JUST DEACTIVATE BOTH AIRBAGS AND THE GUY SAID IT WAS AGAINST THE LAW, BUT I FOUND A FORM REGARDING DEACTIVATION OF THE BAGS. SO, WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO DEACTIVATE THE BAGS? I FEEL LESS AT RISK DRIVING THIS CAR WITHOUT THOSE BAGS RUPTURING. THE AIR BAGS ON MY C300 MERCEDES 2011 DID NOT DEPLOY DURING FRONT CRASH. THE ACCIDENT HAPPENED AT A T INTERSECTION STREET. I WAS AT THE FRONT LANE AT A T INTERSECTION STOPPING DURING RED LIGHT. A VOLVO CAR FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF THE INTERSECTION THAT WAS TRYING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN-INTO THE STREET THAT I WAS STOPPING ON- CRASHED INTO MY VEHICLE FRONT TO FRONT AS A RESULT OF AVOIDING GETTING CRASHED BY ANOTHER CAR THAT WAS PASSING RED LIGHT INTO IT'S OPPOSITE DIRECTION. THE VOLVO THAT CRASHED INTO MY CAR FRONT TO FRONT PUSHED MY VEHICLE ABOUT 10 FEET BACK WORDS AND CAUSED MY VEHICLE TO CRASH INTO AN SUV WITH THE REAR RIGHT SIDE OF MY VEHICLE INTO THE REAR LEFT SIDE OF THE SUV THAT CAUSED MY CAR TO STOP. A POLICE REPORT WAS TAKEN AT THE SCENE. I THEN HAVE REQUESTED FROM THE COLLISION CENTER AT THE MERCEDES DEALER WHO HANDLED MY CAR, TO LOOK INTO THE AIR BAGS TO CHECK WHETHER THERE WERE A MANUFACTURE DEFECT WITH THE AIRBAG FOR NOT DEPLOYING.
