I took my vehicle to an independent repair shop for routine maintenance and while there I was advised that the vehicle is suffering from the subframe corrosion issue. I called the manufacturer service center and they took my VIN and said I was not covered under the bulletin. The independent contractor gave me an estimate to get it repaired, however Mercedes doesn’t even have the parts needed in stock as they are backed ordered nation wide. This is our only car and it now I am forced to drive an unsafe vehicle.

I had the sunroof opened and it almost blew off, if I didn’t pull over it would have. I took it to the shop and was told it is a manufacturers issue.

I believe my car was missed on the panoramic roof issue. I have been hearing a lot of wind and road noise coming into my car from the roof and now my roof is having issues completely closing. A few guys with c300 I know were recalled for the same issue and they had theirs repaired from the dealer under recall and after a few trips to different dealers they told me to try and add it here through the website.

My car (vin [XXX] ) a 2015 Mercedes C300 is experiencing the same premature rusting on the subframe. I was told that while a lot of Mercedes are covered, mine is not for some reason but I'm at the same risk for the subframe getting holes in it and wheels breaking off. I only have 78,000 miles on my car, only have it serviced at the dealer and it has been garaged parked. This type of damage is not typical for a car that has been this well cared for and for the amount it has been driven. I called Mercedes to honor the $5600 or to extend the warranty should it have to be replaced and they said to file a claim here. The rear subframe is rusted through. It is a known manufacturing defect where water sits and rusts through the subframe. This was a recall on various Mercedes up through 2014. Multiple 2015 models have the same issue, including my Mercedes 2015 C300 4MATIC. I have a 2009 SLK with the same issue, which Mercedes previously fixed and acknowledged the manufacturing defect. The part number under the recall through 2014 is "212 250 3805" My 2015 car has part number "212 350 3605" that is not covered but still has rust issues. See attached picture The subframe can result in the back wheels falling off. My subframe is severely rusted through and a risk as a driver. A certified Mercedes dealer has inspected this issue and confirmed the safety but Mercedes will not cover the repairs for the known defect. There are no warning lights or indicators to this issue.

My wife and I were driving our 2015 C-Class Mercedes on a highway, traveling at roughly 55MPH on 2/25/24, at approximately 2pm, conditions were sunny but windy, when suddenly we heard a loud noise above our heads. The noise sounded like it came from around our sunroof, and it sounded as if maybe the car had been hit by a piece of debris, although neither of us saw anything. We looked in our mirrors but didn't see anything, and I also tried opening and closing the sunroof and it worked fine. I also looked in my rear view mirror and didn't see any cars behind me swerve, or in any way adjust their driving. Because there was no safe shoulder on that part of the road, we continued a mile or so further up the road and then pulled over to see if we could visibly see anything wrong with the car. To our disbelief, a section of the body of the car that is just above the front windshield and just before the sunroof, a piece I believe called the "front stationary sunroof panel" , was completely missing! We were unsuccessful at finding the piece. After some research in recent days, I believe this issue is related to MB recall campaign #2021070010, 22V-954 / 2023010004/5/6. If this is however related to the recall, the Mercedes dealership we took our car to on 3/1/24 told us it would cost us over $2,000.00 to repair. As I thought about a piece of the car simply flying off while driving, I realized how much of a safety hazard this could pose to others, hence this written report.

I have a 2015 Mercedes-Benz C300 4Matic got a letter from the company car had few recalls to address. Dropped the at Mercedes-Benz Hampton VA dealership on 12/06/2023 at 8:30 AM EST. After few hours got a call from the dealership that rear subframe of the has bad corrosion and because of the rust it got holes in it which is a bad safety risk. Risk is so great that it cant pass Virginia state inspection. I did a good online research and found it is a common issue in Mercedes-Benz vehicles and the company issued safety recall on some years and models but not on all the affected vehicles. Like my car has the exact same safety issue rear subframe got rust from inside so it was hard to notice till it became unsafe to drive the car. The dealer is asking almost $5000.00 to replace it. The Mercedes-Benz customer support center is unable to explain why some cars are covered with extended warranty offered by the factory and some doesn't for exact same issue. There are bunch of more people with same complaint but they don't know where to go.

Sunroof clips are snapping on many w205 2015 mercedes c300 models causing the panoramic roof to come loose potentially flying off the car while driving this has the potential to hurt many people. Mercedes claims there is only a recall for models up to 2011 however hundreds of thousands of later model vehicles have the same issue. I read an article saying they recently opened a recall for the later models but my vin isn’t covered. If the 100 pound panoramic roof flies off while driving on the highway at 70 mph it can definitely kill someone. Please address my concern I cannot afford to come out of pocket for Mercedes defect and lack of help.

UPON SUBMITTING A CLAIM FOR MY "INOPERATIVE" SENSOR ISSUE AND THE CAR LOSING ALL POWER AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. I DISCOVERED YOUR CLAIM ABOUT PANORAMIC SUNROOF DETACHMENTS. WELL YOU ARE IN LUCK AS I HAVE A LOVELY MERCEDES WITH A ROOF PANEL THAT I HAD TO GLUE TO THE TRACK AS IT CAME APART. THE HINGE ON RIGHT SIDE IS LOOSE. I CAN NO LONGER OPEN THE SUNROOF OR IT WILL CATCH WIND AS IF IT'S ABOUT TO DETHATCH. DRIVING THE SUNROOF IS SO LOOSE THAT IT WILL NOT CLOSE WITHOUT THE HELP OF HOLDING IT DOWN SO IT LOCKS INTO PLACE. BROUGHT IT INTO THE DEALER LAST SUMMER AND THEY BRUSHED IT OFF AND TRIED TO CHARGE ME OVER $2,000 TO GET IT FIXED. THEY SAID "COMMON ISSUE" I WOULD PRODUCE PICTURES, HOWEVER MY CAR IS CURRENTLY SITTING AT A MERCEDES FACTORY SHOP GETTING ITS OTHER SAFETY ISSUES TAKEN CARE OF.

I STARTED EXPERIENCING LOUD WIND NOISE COMING FROM THE TOP OF MY CAR NEAR MY WINDSHIELD WHEN DRIVING OVER 40MPH. I PULLED OVER AND EXAMINED THE AREA AND FOUND THAT THE TOP LEFT GLASS PANEL IN FRONT OF THE SUNROOF ON MY 2015 MERCEDES BENZ C300 WAS SLIGHTLY PROPPED UP. IT SEEMED TO BE A POSSIBLE SEAL OR GLUE ISSUE CAUSING THE GLASS PANEL TO BE SLIGHTLY LOOSE AND ALLOWING AIR IN. I CALLED MERCEDES AND MADE THE NEXT AVAILABLE APPOINTMENT FOR SERVICE A FEW DAYS OUT. WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, I BEGUN TO HEAR THE WIND NOISE AGAIN BUT FOLLOWED BY A LOUD RIP FROM THE ROOF OF MY CAR THIS TIME BUT DID NOT SEE ANYTHING IN SIGHT. ON JULY 19, 2020, I WAS DRIVING MY MB C300, ON HIGHWAY 301 IN BRADENTON FLORIDA. SUDDENLY, I HEARD WHAT SOUNDED LIKE A GUNSHOT. I WAS TERRIFIED. ONCE, I CALMED DOWN AND WAS ABLE TO GET TO A SAFE LOCATION, UPON EXAMINATION, I DISCOVERED THAT MY SUNROOF HAD SPONTANEOUSLY SHATTERED. THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO EVIDENCE OF ANY TYPE OF FOREIGN OBJECT CAUSING THE SUNROOM TO SHATTER. FORTUNATELY, WHEN THE LOUD BANG OCCURRED, I HAD THE PRESENCE OF MIND TO NOT LOSE CONTROL OF MY CAR IN WHAT COULD HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. ALSO, IF THE SUNROOF HAD BEEN PARTIALLY OPENED THE GLASS CHARDS COULD HAVE CAUSED SIGNIFICANT INJURY. THIS IS COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY UNACCEPTABLE. MERCEDES BENZ IS A LUXURY CAR MANUFACTURER, KNOWN FOR SUPERIOR ENGINEERING. THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

EXPLODING PANORAMIC ROOF. ON JANUARY 18, 2019, TWO HOURS INTO DRIVING FROM NEW YORK TO CANADA FOR A FAMILY VACATION, WITHOUT ANY WARNING AND FOR NO APPARENT REASON THE PANORAMIC ROOF TO OUR 2015 MERCEDES BENZ C300 4MATIC SUDDENLY AND VIOLENTLY EXPLODED. AT THE TIME OF THE OCCURRENCE THE HIGHWAY ROAD (I84E)WAS STRAIGHT, SMOOTH AND WE WERE AT CRUISING SPEED (60MPH), NO CARS ANYWHERE NEAR US IN FRONT OR FROM THE REAR. THE EXPLOSION SOUNDED AS IF A BOMB HAD GONE OFF OR IF WE HAD BEEN SHOT. TINY GLASS PARTICLES SPRAYED MY ENTIRE FAMILY INCLUDING MY WIFE, 2 DAUGHTER (12,15) AND OUR PUPPY. LUCKILY THE SUNSHADE COVERING UNDERNEATH THE GLASS ROOF CAUGHT THE LARGER PIECES OF BROKEN GLASS. AFTER MAKING SURE THE FAMILY WAS NOT INJURED I MANAGED TO FIND A LARGE PIECE OF CARDBOARD THAT I DUCT TAPE TO THE ROOF AND SLOWLY MADE OUR WAY BACK HOME, ENDING OUR TRIP. UPON ARRIVING HOME I DID LOTS OF RESEARCH AND TO MY SURPRISE FOUND THAT EXPLODING PANORAMIC ROOFS WAS MORE COMMON THAN I HAD EVER THOUGHT WITH MANY OWNERS GONE THROUGH THE EXACT SITUATION AS I. YET, MERCEDES REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THIS ISSUE AND PRESENTLY DOES NOT HAVE A RECALL ON THEIR PROBLEM. TO ADD INSULT TO INJURY WHEN I BROUGHT THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR A REPAIR, THE SERVICE ADVISOR ACTED AS IF THIS WAS NO BIG DEAL AND ALSO THAT HE HAS NEVER SEEN THIS ISSUE IN HIS 34 YEARS OF BEING THERE. I CAN ONLY ASSUME THAT THIS IS A FALSE STATEMENT SINCE THE VALLET PERSON WHO TOOK MY CAR SAID HE HAS SEEN IT ON QUITE A FEW OCCASION. MERCEDES BENZ OF NORTH AMERICA NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS SITUATION BEFORE IT BECOMES A FATAL MISHAP. THE SOUND AND GLASS DEBRIS COULD HAVE EASILY DISTRACTED ME ENOUGH FOR ME TO LOSE CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. LUCKILY NO ONE WAS NEAR OUR CAR.

PANORAMIC SUNROOF SPONTANEOUSLY EXPLODED WHILE THE CAR WAS SITTING. MERCEDES CLAIMING SOMETHING FELL INTO IT, BUT THERE WAS NOTHING ABOVE IT OR IN THE CAR WHILE IT WAS SITTING IN THE GARAGE. AFTER READING ONLINE, THIS IS HAPPENING TO A LOT OF OTHER CONSUMERS, INCLUDING ONE WHO HAS STARTED A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT IN CALIFORNIA

I WAS DRIVING AT APPROX. 20-25 MPH DURING DAY LIGHT AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THERE WAS LIGHT BLINKED ON MY DASHBOARD FOR APPLYING THE BRAKES BECAUSE OF ANOTHER VEHICLE AHEAD OF ME. I APPLIED THE BRAKES AS WELL AS BRAKE ASSIST PLUS SYSTEM GOT ACTIVATED AS WELL. BUT STILL MY VEHICLE END UP HITTING THE VEHICLE AHEAD OF ME. THE BRAKE ASSIST PLUS SYSTEM WHICH IS CLAIMED BY MERCEDEZ TO TAKE BRAKE AUTOMATICALLY TO BRING THE SYSTEM TO HALT IN CASE OF EMERGENCY DID NOT WORK AND IT END UP HITTING ANOTHER VEHICLE IN FRONT OF MY VEHICLE

MY SUNROOF EXPLODED/SHATTERED WHILE I WAS DRIVING TODAY, TRAVELING AT A SPEED OF 45MPH ON CITY ROAD AFTER TURNING A CORNER. OUTSIDE TEMP WAS AROUND 85 AND INSIDE CAR WAS 75. CAR HAS AROUND 6800 MILES, AND THERE WAS NOTHING THAT HIT THE SUNROOF. SCARY SITUATION FOR THE DRIVER! CAR IS CURRENTLY UNDER WARRANTY AND AT THE DEALER FOR REPAIR, BUT THEY WANT MY INSURANCE TO PAY. I INSIST THIS BE INVESTIGATED BECAUSE I BELIEVE IT TO BE A MANUFACTURE DEFECT

I WAS DRIVING 580-E AND MERGING ONTO I-5 S WHEN I HIT A HUMONGOUS POT HOLE WITH MY LEFT FONT TIRE CAUSING IT TO IMMEDIATELY BLOW OUT. THAT IN-TURN CAUSED MY STABILITY TRACKING TO ENGAGE, WHICH CAUSED ME TO SLOW DOWN DRASTICALLY. THAT CAUSED ANOTHER VEHICLE TO NEAR MISS RAMMING ME IN THE BACK AND ME SIDE SWIPING ANOTHER VEHICLE. I WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH AND ALMOST LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND HAD TO IMMEDIATELY PULL OVER TO A VERY NARROW SHOULDER OF THE ROAD WITH MY EMERGENCY FLASHERS BLINKING. TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE, MY SELF AND OTHER PASSENGERS IN THE CAR, I HAD TO DRIVE APPROXIMATELY 0.5 MILES TO THE NEXT EXIT (67) TO SAFELY GET MY VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD TO A SAFE LOCATION. I THEN CALLED A TOW TRUCK TO TOW MY VEHICLE BACK TO SANTA ROSA WHERE I LIVE TO GET THE TIRE REPLACED AND FRONT BUMP REPAIRED. I AM UNSURE OF THE CAUSE OF THE UNSAFE CONDITION OF THE HIGHWAY OR WHAT CAUSED THE POT HOLE. THERE WERE SEVERAL CARS STRANDED WITH DAMAGES TO THEIR VEHICLES AS WELL. ONE PERSON CAME TO THE SAME EXIT (FOOD MART ON PATTERSON ROAD) WITH A BLOWN OUT TIRE AS WELL. I HAVE HER CONTACT INFORMATION IF YOU NEED TO CONTACT HER.

MY VEHICLE, A 2015 MERCEDES-BENZ C300 PURCHASED ON 6/6/15 WITH APPROXIMATELY 1200 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. ON MONDAY MORNING 7/20/15, AT APPROXIMATELY 5:30 AM PDT, I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY WHEN THE INTERIOR LIGHTS CAME ON AND THE DRIVERS DOOR POPPED OPEN. THERE WAS NO WARNING CHIME OR INDICATOR LIGHT PRIOR TO THIS HAPPENING. IT WAS VERY FRIGHTENING, AND CAUGHT ME BY SURPRISE. LUCKILY AT THE TIME THERE WERE NO OTHER CARS NEAR ME. I WAS ABLE TO SLOW DOWN AND SHUT THE DOOR. I CALLED THE DEALER AND THEY WERE CONCERNED AND HAD ME DROP IT OFF THAT AFTERNOON. PICKED UP ON TUESDAY AFTERNOON 7/21/15 APPROXIMATELY 5:30 PM PDT. I WAS TOLD THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE DOOR OPENING. HOWEVER, LOOKING AT FORUMS ON THE INTERNET, THIS EXACT ISSUE HAS BEEN REPORTED BY OTHERS IN THE US AND AUSTRALIA AT LEAST. SOME WERE THE DRIVERS DOOR OTHERS WERE THE PASSENGERS DOOR. ONE REPORTED IT HAPPENING A SECOND TIME AFTER THE DEALER INSPECTED. I AM VERY CONCERNED ABOUT THIS HAPPENING AGAIN, AND POSSIBLY TRIGGERING AN AIR BAG OR AUTO-PARK. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN THIS CAR. I HAVE CONTACTED MERCEDES-BENZ USA VIA CHAT THIS MORNING 7/22/15 AND THEY WILL HAVE A CASE MANAGER CONTACT ME.

I RECEIVE WARNING AFTER I PASS 5 MPH SPEED IF ANY OF THE PASSENGER DOORS OR TRUNK IS OPEN. THE CAR NEEDS TO NOTIFY ME AS SOON AS IT GOES INTO DRIVE MODE. MANUFACTURERS RESPONSE HAS BEEN QUOTED BELOW. "WE TESTED A C300 HERE. IF THE DRIVER DOOR IS OPEN, THERE IS AN IMMEDIATE MESSAGE WHEN THE VEHICLE IS PUT IN GEAR (FORWARD OR REVERSE). HOWEVER, ALL OTHER DOORS RECEIVE A MESSAGE AT APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH. MERCEDES-BENZ RECOMMENDS THAT THE DRIVER MAKE SURE ALL PASSENGERS ARE IN SEATBELTS AND THE DOORS ARE SECURED. " *TR

SOON AFTER PURCHASING MERCEDES, DISCOVERED THE FOLLOWING POTENTIALLY HAZARDOUS SAFETY ISSUES (ALL OF THESE FEATURES ARE STANDARD): 1) NEW "KEYLESS-GO LOCKING SYSTEM IS FACTORY PROGRAMMED TO UNLOCK ALL DOORS WHEN KEY IS IN OWNER'S POSSESSION & REAR DRIVER'S DOOR HANDLE IS TOUCHED, ALLOWING INTRUDER(S) TO EASILY ENTER OTHER SIDE OF VEHICLE. 2) NEW COMMAND/COMPUTER/TOUCH PAD SYSTEM, CONTROLS VARIOUS OPERATIONAL FUNCTIONS, LIKE RADIO, ENCOURAGING DRIVER TO TAKE EYES OFF THE ROAD TO OPERATE. TOUCHPAD REQUIRES DRIVER TO MAKE "MOUSE-LIKE" ACTIONS ON COMPUTER PAD (LOCATED ON CONSOLE) WHILE SIMULTANEOUSLY DRIVING. 3) NEW AIR FLOW & VENT SYSTEM, CIRCULATES AIR FROM GRILL TO WINDSHIELD, ALLOWING LEAVES & OTHER DEBRIS, INCL. WATER, TO ENTER ENGINE COMPARTMENT AT THE TOP OF HOOD. DEBRIS LODGED HERE COULD POTENTIALLY RESULT IN OVERHEATING & CAUSE FIRE OR RESULT IN DAMAGE TO WIRING AND/OR OTHER COMPONENTS OF THE ENGINE. 4) LETTERS (W/PICTURES) SENT TO MBUSA, CEO, RESULTED IN PHONE CALLS FROM SUBORDINATE STAFF, REJECTING OUTRIGHT EACH COMPLAINT BUT ADVISING THAT DEBRIS IN ENGINE AREA IS "NORMAL" & CUSTOMER'S RESPONSIBILITY TO REMOVE. LETTER TO DAIMLER'S CEO IN GERMANY WAS REFERRED BACK TO MBUSA. 5) ASKING FOR YOUR INTERVENTION BEFORE THESE PROBLEMS POTENTIALLY RESULT IN INJURY OR FATALITY. IF THIS IS NOT THE OFFICE TO INVESTIGATE & INTERVENE, PLEASE FORWARD TO THE CORRECT AGENCY & ADVISE ACCORDINGLY. CAN PROVIDE ADDITIONAL INFO. ON REQUEST. THANK YOU... *TR
