I am reporting a serious vehicle safety hazard caused by improper and unsafe repair work performed by USA Platinum Motor, located at 1221 California Lane #126B, Arlington, TX. I brought my 2017 Mercedes-Benz C300 in for a cold start rattle with no warning lights or prior issues. The shop diagnosed a loose timing chain and I authorized the repair. After the repairs, the vehicle was returned with critical safety defects, including a loose fuel pump, unsecured fuel line, missing bolts, and improperly reassembled engine components. Shortly after pickup, the car experienced loss of acceleration on the interstate, a strong odor of fuel, and a sudden loss of power, creating a dangerous and life-threatening situation. The vehicle had to be towed back to the shop. The manager, who is not a certified mechanic, admitted he personally “fixed” the issue by tightening the fuel pump himself. A Mercedes-Benz diagnostic inspection later confirmed multiple severe assembly errors, including missing fasteners, unsecured oil cooler, disconnected vent lines, and other safety-related defects in the fuel and cooling systems. These unsafe and negligent repairs created an extreme fire hazard, engine instability, and risk of sudden failure while driving. I am requesting a formal NHTSA investigation into this matter to ensure vehicle safety compliance and to prevent similar incidents affecting other consumers.
ESP control unit software Recall 2016090002 Recall 2017110002 Recall 2020080016 And my car shows there’s cero recall active but is giving me problem showing code: U0121 u1110 U0122 B227d U0423 B227d
this is my send time writing in. mercedes used the wrong wrist pins for the pistons leading to my wife getting a cracked piston on freeway in phx.if you look up cylinder 1 issues on this model there is a lot of people who have encountered this. why this hasn't been recalled and sticking consumers with a10k plus repair is beyond me. if you use the wrong parts you should be responsible for the repair!!!
I have an error code: P052E.
my whole entire car smells like gas. I cannot drive this car around because I will pass out and it is a safety hazard. There is a recall for this exact same issue, just not for my Vin number. I would like to get this done for my car, please.
Keep getting a code P052E! Changed the oil and code went away for a few days then came back. Looked into getting it fixed and it seems like Mercedes has known about this issue and hasn’t called for a recall on this piece of equipment! Very costly to fix and says it needs to be replaced every 30k to 50k miles! At around 1k to 3k to fix everytime that’s something they should recall
P052E code for PCV vent valve
cracked piston in cylinder #1. After doing research this is a common problem in the m274 engine from 2015-2018 which Mercedes is aware of but does nothing. mercedes need to be held responsible and a recall issued. This isn't a 2 or 3 thousand dollar repair!! this repair is 6 figures!!! Please hold them acountable!!! THX
Check engine light on. Test results: Positive Crankcase Ventilation Regulator Valve Performance CODE : P052E
Car check engine light came on with only 62,000 miles. Diagnosed as code P052E, the issue is the positive crankcase ventilation valve being faulty. Regular oil changes and maintenance was done. I see multiple complaints with this issue, why is this not recalled? It is very expensive to have fixed.
My engine light keeps coming on and off on my 2017 C300 4matic coupe. I got the problem diagnosed in March 2023. Benz said I had a faulty solenoid valve and that I would need to replace the crank case ventilation assembly. That is $3000. My friend has a C300 sedan and they replaced his under the extended warranty that came out on August 2023 for the crankcase. I have the same exact issue but they said my VIN doesn’t populate so they cannot do anything. This is the 2nd faulty crank case in my car, it was replaced by warranty in 2019. I don’t drive that much I have 47K miles on the car. They refuse to cover the faulty part.

The contact owns a 2017 Mercedes-Benz C300. The contact stated that while at a stop light the vehicle stalled. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the battery cable needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that an update to the powertrain software was needed, and the transmission pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The contact called the local dealer, and it was recommended that the transmission be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

Check engine light on on 2017 Mercedes C300 4 Matic. Car has 52,000 miles on it. The code P052E71 was diagnosed by Mercedes mechanic as the valve for the crankcase ventilation. The actuator was blocked. Mechanic said part (crankcase ventilation hose) is not available and this problem happens to all 2015-2017 C 300 models usually around 50,000 miles. When air conditioning or heat is run it causes an odor of burning fuel or oil in the cabin. Mercedes said part is not in stock and they have no ETA on when it will be available. Vehicle is unable to pass vehicle emissions test.
My Mercedes benz C300 2017 have the P052E positive crankcase ventilation regulatory valve, and Mercedes Benz they start sending this letter and when I go to the dealer they said my car not qualified, but the letter says other thing, my car have the check engine light on with the code PO52E. They don’t want to do the repair because is a $2,500 repair and they making excuses to not do it.
P052E Positive Crankcase Ventilation Regulator Valve Performance this is a common issue with Mercedes as lots of car are affected by this and this should be covered under emission but lots of dealership are declining saying it’s not covered under emission warranty but this code cause pollution and this part is so expensive to fix and I paid 2k to fix it last year and that same code came again. We can’t keep paying 2k plus for something Mercedes fault design Please help us and make Mercedes Recall this Part
P052e..PVC ventilation crank shaft valve sensor, too many people all reporting the same expensive item/ labor intensive work by a dealership just after the warranty expires. Help. There are thousands of us with the EXACT SAME CODE AND PROBLEM!! ORDER A RECALL INVESTIGATION!! PLEAS?!?!!!
The contact owns a 2017 Mercedes-Benz C300. The contact had received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V032000 (Seat Belts). The vehicle was taken to a local dealer and the recall repair was performed; however, upon retrieving the vehicle, the check engine warning light illuminated upon starting the vehicle. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and remained in the dealer possession. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 34,000.

Check engine light came on. Error code indicates a PCV crankcase ventilation valve has malfunctioned. Code is P052E. This is a notorious problem with Mercedes, BMW and other European cars. It should also be considered part of the emissions system. Contacting the MB dealers, I cannot get a clear definition whether it is covered by extended warranties or any warranty whatsoever. They are vague as to "maybe, but not sure". I feel that there should be a recall to fix the defective parts involved with this error code.
P502e code crankcase ventilation failure
P052E PCV Regulator Valve Performance
My vehicle started shaking and the check engine light came on. It's a PCV valve
I took my vehicle to the mechanic due to the check engine light been on. The diagnostic came back to be that "The valve for crankcase ventilation has a malfunction. The actuator is blocked." As per mechanic this has to be replace but cost around $ 2,000 plus.
P520E code which is caused by a crankcase ventilation issue. The fix costs upwards of $2000. It seems to be a common issue with Mercedes vehicles with 4 cylinder turbos and should be a recall on this system.
Piston one issue. I bought this car from an auction and according to the record on the car the previous owner had problem with piston one and low compression in that piston. After performing some research it looks like Mercedes’ Benz c300 m274 is riddles with this issue. It’s all over the internet and I don’t know why Mercedes is not taking responsibity for this. This car has less than 70000 miles and the engine is locked from the cylinder. Thank you
The Crankcase Ventilator Actuator has malfunctioned, resulting in the Check Engine light showing up. The MB C300 4matic 2017 vehicle is at 40,200 miles as of [XXX]. Lot of other MB owners have reported same issues. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
My c300 2017 only had 55k and suddenly the engine light on, when I check it show that I need Positive Crankcase ventilation valve replace. it cost $2300.
Piston crack in Cylinder 1
My Mercedes Benz stopped working. The mechanic shared it involves the: fault valve for crankcase ventilation has malfunction.

Code PO52E
check engine code P052E : Positive Crankcase Ventilation Regulator Valve Performance. This is a common problem in all mercedes 2015-2020 and it cost about 2000 to repair. This should be a recall.
My car is throwing the error code P052E. It keeps going on and off.
Egine light on need to replace clogged Pcv value at 48,000 miles. Seems like this part needs a recall
I recently had to repair a part of my engine with the code P052E. It specifically was "The Valve for Crankcase Ventilation. It stated it was malfunctioned and that the actuator is blocked. It could have caused my engine to fail and my car to stop at any moment putting myself and others at risk. There is a large amounts of consumers with the same vehicle that complained about the same issue. It was inspected by the Mercedes Benz dealership. The only warning was that my check engine light was on.
A very common problem with mercedes. PCV ventilation valve. Fault code P052E
P052E positive crankcase ventilation regulatory valve Part number 274-090-17-29-80
Code P052E costing me over $2500 to repair. I’m not the only one dealing with this problem and my car only has 58k miles and it’s a 2017. Should be recalled considering the part being defective.
Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) Can cause problem to the engine. Check engine light is on, car have been scanned. This happen one week ago. There’s no recall for this and happen a lot many Mercedes Benz causing problems on engine and is not on warranty or any other recalls
my 2017 Mercedes C300 experienced what appears to be a very common engine fault with the W205 engine. It involves the "PCV" valve and the engine code fault is P052E. When this fault occurs the engine will stall and sputter. My wife and daughter were in my car last week and it stalled at an intersection which could have resulted in an accident, but luckily the school crossing guards were there to stop traffic and allow her to restart the car and get to the side of the road. The check engine light had previously been on and off for sometime so I had my local Mavis check what the light was on for and they gave me the fault code. I did not think it was anything that serious because the car ran fine. The car was towed today to Mercedes to officially diagnosis the problem
I have a mercedes c300 2017 and recently I was driving my car and the check engine light came on all of a sudden so I took it to my local shop to diagnose it they told me it was the PCV valve, so I called mercedes and they’re telling me that this is not covered and of course my warranty is no longer covered I have about 63k miles on the car. Mercedes is saying they don’t have a recall for this but I’ve googled around and multiple people are saying the same issue happened to them around the 55-65k range. It’s super frustrating that this doesn’t flag a recall.
Engine code P052E - PCV REGULATOR VALVE PERFORMANCE. Common faulty Mercedes Benz part integral to the car. Just took in the car to MBSeattle.
In my family we have 2 mercedes benz cars one 2017GLC300 and other 2017 C300 4matic and both of the cars have the same issues. Check engine with code P052E. And after talking to friends and mechanics it appears that this issues to be almost on every mercedes car of this engine since both of the cars that are in my family have the same engine components. I request that it should be recall so mercedes benz will repair those issues under warranty. Thank you
I purchased my 2017 C300 class Mercedes-Benz ("MB") in May 2021 from a used car dealership in Mobile, AL. At that time it had 36,000 miles. Less than 2 years later, on or about 12/15/22, as I was driving, the MB suddenly and without warning began to vibrate violently and immediately lost power. The car had @54,000 miles on it. I routinely drive interstate to and from work and had just gotten off of the interstate. I was lucky that I was driving at a low speed when this happened; otherwise, a serious accident could have resulted. I took it to the local MB dealership which told me that the car failed a compression test in the #1 cylinder and that the engine would have to be replaced. Subsequent research on the cause of this total engine failure with low mileage revealed that this engine has a chronic piston defect that damages the #1 cylinder, causing it to lose compression, and that MB has known about the defect for many years, an issued an internal bulletin about it. MB has not alerted the public nor instigated a recall. I was not informed by MB at any time that the C300 class engine had a chronic piston defect that would damage the #1 cylinder which would, in turn, cause the engine to lose power and the vehicle to vibrate and shake, creating a dangerous diving condition under all circumstances, but especially if the car was being driven at speed on a federal interstate highway. Despite demands by me and others, MB refuses to responsibly address the issue. The driving public is, and remains, clearly, in great risk of harm due to this defective engine and associated power train issues. It is patently unreasonable for MB to produce and market such a unsafe, dangerous and defective product that poses an unreasonable risk of harm to its customers and others when being used as it was intended. I understand that the NHTSA has opened an investigation on this defect and wish for my voice to be heard on it. Please contact me [XXX] for further details. Hey good morning. There’s been a been a system failure. P052E Positive Crankcase Ventilation Regulator Valve Performance. Warning message I got was the engine light showed
My car suddenly turned off at a stop sign. After I restarted it, it turned back on and my engine light turned on. I called the dealership and after inspection I was told that the valve for my crankcase was malfunctioning. The total cost, including both parts and labor are $1775. I have seen many complaints regarding this issue with the same vehicle. It is apparent that a recall should’ve been issued for this months ago. It is truly a safety issue when the car turns off at a stop sign or a ramp. I could’ve been hit while my car was stalling on a ramp exiting major highway. I implore you to rectify this issue immediately before someone gets hurt.
Crankcase ventilation valve failure.
Most M274 engines have P06DA00 fault code internally. Harness for oil pressure regulating solenoid valve is short/open inside the engine oil pan. It can cause excessive oil pressure and premature oil pump failure. As the broken wire is sunken in the engine oil, I worry if it can cause fire. If the oil pump fair during driving prematurely, engine can be stalled. Mercedes-Benz knew the issue but they decided to ignore it.
Crankcase Breather System: Vent Valve Fault code stored for block crankcase breather valve. The fault code is 052E71. A lot of Mercedes cars are reporting it online and no recall has been made. The labor to change this takes around 8-9 hours and the part costs 300. Company is doing nothing about it as a lot of W205 engines are having this issue
ode P052E : Positive Crankcase Ventilation Regulator Valve Performance. This seems to be a common problem with the C300.It's not an easy fix. MB hasn't addressed this common issue. Also strong smell of gas coming into the cabin during start up. Took car to Keys Van Nuys Mercedes in North Hollywood and was no recall. We are inhaling these fumes and they blamed it on a hose that expands and fumes escape into the cabin. Wanted to charge for the repair but I refused.
The contact owns a 2017 Mercedes-Benz C300. The contact stated while driving 45-50 MPH, the vehicle stalled inadvertently and would not exceed 3 MPH. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact was unable to veer to the side of the roadway. The contact turned on the hazard lights. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle however, the vehicle would not exceed 5 MPH and was making abnormal sounds. The contact veered to the side of the road for approximately 4 hours until there was no longer traffic on the roadway. The contact proceeded to drive at 5 MPH to her residence less than two miles away. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and assisted with towing the vehicle to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the piston rings had blown out and the engine needed to be replaced. The manufacturer informed the contact that the failure was a known failure; however, she would be responsible of the cost of the repair. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 29,650.

My car threw the check engine code P052E, the issue is the positive crankcase ventilation valve being faulty. Incredibly common on this model and now failed on my car too at 60K miles. All maintenance was done up to this point with the dealer and at or before recommended intervals.
My car leaked oil very fast while me & my wife were on a trip and it stopped on the highway and engine was stalling and misfiring due to a manufacture defect that is common with this model so it did put us in a very dangerous & risky situation. Now after i paid $1,740 the dealer is saying that my car needs a new engine due to cracked piston in cylinder 1 that damaged the engine which is a common problem with this model around the 50k miles.
Diagnosis code P052E PCV regulator valve replacement/crankcase replacement. Dealership does not want to acknowledge code while car was under warranty despite proof that it existed when check engine was diagnosed. Now code keeps coming back with check engine light on dashboard. To replace part, the engine has to be taken down since the crankcase is inside the engine. This is a malfunction during assembly/manufacturing, it is impossible to damage part while under usage. Mercedes Benz should be held responsible for part replacement and labor. I urge you to investigate this matter with other clients and ask the manufacturer to replace part and pay for labor.
misfire cylinder 1 46300 miles on the engine.Mercedes dealer told me I need new engine and they are not providing warranty coverage.
Check engine light came on, took it to the dealership. It is the Crankcase Ventilation Valve that is once again broken. It helps to accurately depict emissions. It is a known problem that hundreds of other drivers are reporting on forums https://www.benzworld.org/threads/2015-c300-crankcase-ventilation-valve-replacement-p052e71.3047538/page-1 https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w205/739851-check-engine-code-p052e.html There needs to be a recall, this is a consumer protection and environmental safety issue.
CODE PO052E71 crankcase vent solenoid causing check engine light
P06DA00 CODE oil pump vale circuit open
At approximately 26,500 miles of use, the check engine light came on in my Mercedes Benz C300. I brought the vehicle to the dealership and they informed me that the diagnosis was a crankcase vent valve malfunction. The MB fault code is P52E71. After paying Mercedes to fix the issue, I found forums on the internet where many other MB owners reported the same issue at around the same mileage. Being that this seems to be a common malfunction with the C300, I believe that it should be considered as a recall issue. I don't know what could have happened if I didn't service the vehicle, but any engine issue is dangerous while a vehicle is in motion.
When starting the car in the morning there is fuel smell that gets into the cabin. Additionally, as the car is idle during the drive, the smell of fuel is very obvious. Windows have to be rolled down to avoid the smell
Vehicle won’t start or hard to start
WHEN THE CAR IS IN THE A FEATURE, WHERE IT TURNS ON AND OFF WHEN NOT IN MOTION, IT GETS STUCK IN THAT MODE AS IF A MAGNET IS HOLDING IT IN THAT POSITION. IT WILL NOT MOVE, IT STALLS. I TURN IT OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON AND SOMETIMES IT STILL WILL NOT MOVE, SOMETIMES, IT WILL NOT TURN BACK ON. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON SEVERAL DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. ONCE, I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF MY MAILBOX TO PICK UP MAIL, AND ANOTHER OCCASION I PULLED INTO MY GARAGE, AND IT STOPPED, AND WOULD NOT TURN ON. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS, I WOULD HATE TO BE IN TRAFFIC, RAILWAY CROSSING, IR STOP SIGN AND THIS OCCURRED. PEOPLES LIVES HAVE BEEN LOST DUE TO THIS ISSUE. ONE LADY WAS HIT BY A TRAIN WHEN THIS SAME SITUATION OCCURRED AND LOST HER LIFE. I AM VERY CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY AND OF MY GRANDKIDS WHOM I TRANSPORT IN THIS CAR. IT ALSO SEEMS THAT SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE GEARS. SOMETIMES, I PUT IT IN REVERSE AND IT SITS THERE. I PUT IT IN DRIVE AND IT WILL NOT MOVE. I FEEL VERY UNSAFE IN THIS VEHICLE. PLEASE HELP.

CAR STARTED TO VIBRATE AT IDLE THEN GRADUATED TO SHAKING AT ALL TIMES EVEN DURING ACCELERATION. ACCELERATION VERY SLOW, STUCK FEELING. BROUGHT TO MERCEDES AT 28K MILES. THEY STATED IT IS A CRACKED PISTON IN CYLINDER 1. THIS IS APPARENTLY A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS ENGINE BUT THERE ARE NO RECALLS YET.

2017 MERCEDES C300 COUPE 49,000 MILES. THIS CAR HAS BEEN TO THE SERVICE CENTER 10 TIMES FOR ENGINE PROBLEMS " VIBRATIING, JERKING, SHAKING AND TICKING" LAST VISIT AT HOEHN MERCEDES,. SERVICE TECH SAID THAT THESE ENGINES AUTOMATICALLY VIBRATE AND JERK AND THAT IS JUST THE NATURE OF THE BEAST?? WTHECK???!! HAVE ALREADY HAD PISTON 1 CRACK AND BREAK, MECHANIC NEVER FOUND THE BROKEN PIECE. CAR IS MUCH WORSE SINCE THAT REPAIR. HOEHNN MB TOLD ME THAT THEY WERE REPLACING THE ENGIBE BUT WHWN I PICKED UP THE VAN THEY SAID THEY DECIDED JUST TO REPLACE PISTON #1
Mileage: 48,000
PISTON 1 CRACKED AT 48,000 MILES. MB TOLD OWNER THAT THE ENGINE HAD TO BE REPLACED BUT WHEN FINDING OUT THAT THE WARRANTY WAS UP AT 50,000 THEY REPLACED THE PISTON INSTEAD. CAR IS STILL SHAKING AT IDLE AND ROUGH RIDE. ENGINE SHAKES AND JERKS.
