Sunroof Front Trim for Mercedes-Benz GLC300 IS ALL SCRATCHED BUT MERCEDES BENZ SAYS IT IS NOT COVERED BY THEM.
The sunroof exploded spontaneously while driving to a destination. When the incident happened, I was stopped at a red light. I panicked as it sounded like gunshots hitting my car. I pulled over to the nearest safest destination to inspect the car. This put the safety of myself at risk and others at risk who were driving along the sides and/or behind me. This incident was confirmed by a dealer, as I went to Mercedes Benz Sugar Land on the following day of the incident and was quoted around $3,700 to have it repaired. The vehicle not been inspected by police and/or insurance. There were no warning signs that this could have happened besides the fact that Mercedes Benz USA is currently under an active lawsuit for this happening to several other drivers. I do believe that this is a manufacturing defect affecting safety, as similar incidents involving Mercedes-Benz panoramic sunroofs, which may indicate a wider defect trend.
In October 2024, the rear subframe was replaced due to rust perforation in the area of the suspension arm mounting bracket. I had no warning. The car was in for routine service at Mercedes Benz of New London. It had rusted from the inside out and was considered unsafe to drive by the Mercedes service advisor. I could have had a serious accident! I had no choice but to replace the subframe as it is my only vehicle. Shockingly I learned many others have had this issue with various Mercedes models/years and that Mercedes Benz knows of this serious safety problem and there is a class action lawsuit pending but subframe replacement is not covered under warranty by Mercedes Benz, so the cost was mine to bear.
My car caught on fire due to AC malfunction
The sunroof is very glitchy and this is common in all Benz I have had a few different Benz and they all eventually have this same issue with their panoramic sunroof. Sometimes it opens half way life one side is up and the other side is closed and other times it will open fully but not close and other times it won’t open at all. This is a common problem that many Benz owners have stated this in the Benz forums all over. This is a safety issue due to unexpected weather conditions if it rains and it’s stuck inside gets damage and owners get wet which is also a distraction and may cause accidents. Please investigate this issue thoroughly. Their sunroofs should be recalled and extended warranties placed on them automatically by Mercedes Benz due to this being a very common issue in all model’s panorama sunroofs particularly C300s year 2017 thank you for looking into this matter.
Error code P052E71 on a 2017 c300 with 100k miles. It seems to be a very common and recurring issue that appears to have no real solution and is costing consumers thousands upon thousands. This malfunction does relate to emissions and this vehicle is operated in California.
The valve for crankcase ventilation has a malfunction. The actuator is blocked Select 'Error codes / Events' menu in Engine Control Unit. Then read fault memory.
I purchased my 2017 Mercedes c class coupe in 2020, used. Around 2021, I started hear noise from the sunroof when driving on the highway. I went to get it repaired and they mentioned they needed to tighten the screws. This week, I was closing my sunroof and then I heard a crack. I went to a shop to get it manually closed for now on calis 105 degree heat. I am now learning there has been recalls for Mercedes 2017+ coupes but it’s not stated for my specific car to get it fixed. How do I go about this? I feel the sunroof is faulty and has been faulty.
The same part that was recalled the Starter Current Limiter has overheated again. The dealership is trying to charge for this same part for diagnostic, parts and labor. The car produces smoke around the battery and melted due to overheating. The battery is new. The car only turns over..then immediately overheats. Just because it was recalled and replaced does NOT mean it is perfect from defaulting again. Please have someone look into this matter.
Factory AMG rims. 3 of the 4 rims have cracked. The last rim cracked with brand new tires. So it is not a tire issue. I find it unbelievable looking online how may others have had this problem with AMG rims. Does not seem acceptable.
at approximately 48,000 miles driven the check engine light turned on when car was taken to the mechanic, code p052e71 came back as the problem, which means crankcase breather hose had to be replaced. the cost was almost 2000 dollars.
On May 3, 2023 I experienced an issue in which the sunroof on my 2017 C300 cert pre-owned with 51,000 miles Benz imploded out of nowhere while driving. My dad who I was taking to the doctors was also in the car resulting in both of us having fragments of glass on us. The problem has been reported to the insurance company and dealer the same day. There were no issues with the sunroof before the event happened.
I’m unsure but my check engine light came on showing something about my pvc valve needing replacement while I was driving
Check engine light code " P052E71" Crankcase Ventilation Valve Replacement is needed. There is a defective part oil separator and the valve is stuck. Must replace the whole assembly with the hoses. (Part is available for inspection). The problem has been confirmed by the Mercedes dealership. When starting the car, gas fumes come out and is very distinct in the air which is VERY dangerous in confined spaces as well as around other people. . You will fail emissions testing due to this. The repair will cost between $1600 - $2000. This is a know defect in these cars and should be recalled. It also pollutes the air and put the safety of everyone around in danger.
Crank case ventilation valve causing check engine lamp. Car has 42k miles. Recommended repair cost $2000
Crankcase Breather System: Vent Valve Fault code stored for block crankcase breather valve. The fault code is 052E71. A lot of Mercedes cars are reporting it online and no recall has been made. The labor to change this takes around 8-9 hours and the part costs 300. Company is doing nothing about it as a lot of W205 engines are having this issue
Engine bay gets too much water whenever car wash has been done due to space between windshield and plastic engine bay shield (right hand side from vehicle driver seat) has slight gap.
There is an existing recall (21V197000) from Mercedes regarding defective glue attaching the roof panel to the car. The roof panel can dislodge and fly off the car, creating a road hazard. I have the same issue on my 2017 C300 where the panel has moved, causing a whistling noise. The deal has diagnosed this issue. However, my VIN is not covered by the Mercedes recall. I have reached out to Mercedes, and they refuse to include my vehicle in the recall. Other 2017 C300 models are included. I believe their recall does not cover all affected vehicles. The recall number is 21V197000.
I’m trying to ship my car back to the United States and there is a valid recall on my car which I have taken it to the dealership in Korea, which is where I’m currently at, and I cannot get me car updated either because they don’t understand the paper or because I don’t have an official recall which I have also encountered in the states. Without this update my car will not be shipped back home with me. Is there any way I can get this recall information in Korean to possibly make them perform the update.
I was driving on a straight away doing the speed limit which is reported seconds before the car crash. The steering wheel turned to the left really hard out of no where and wouldn’t let me gain control over the car again. I was sober it was 9am and I was aware of my driving. I ended up spinning out and landed in the ditch feet away from the light pole. I made it know to everyone what happened, but they looked at me crazy. I stopped driving that car and sent it back to Mercedes to get a detailed inspection. Which lasted about 30 days for them to get back to me about what happened. When I received the call to get my car they didn’t provide any information about the incident. Instead they just sent it to corporate and left me in the dark. I was in pain during this whole time. I was couldn’t find a lawyer that was willing to help. It’s been three years since the incident and I will have to live with pain for the rest of my life. It’s not fair that we need thousands of dollars to be heard. I have all communication and documentation that was given during the time of incident.
On August 18th, 2021 the roof panel between the windshield and the panoramic roof completely detached while driving on the highway. Luckily no accidents or injuries are reported. Safety recall for this issue has been issued since March 2021 but the factory hasn't produced the parts to send to the dealerships to make the necessary repair to this day. The car is currently unusable and unsafe to drive. Even if the dealership attempts to re-attach another panel they won't have the right adhesive, instructions, and panels that the engineers in the Mercedes factory redesigned to remedy this issue.

IN LATE OCTOBER 2019, I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT 70 MPH. MY PANORAMIC SUNROOF SUDDENLY BLOW UP WITH A LOUD SOUND. MERCEDES CLAIMED THAT A ROCK OR SOMEONE SHOT BBGUN AT MY CAR. HOWEVER, I READ FROM MULTIPLE SOURCES THAT THIS HAPPEN OFTEN WITH THE MERCEDES'S PANORAMIC ROOF. LUCKY FOR ME, MY FAMILY WAS NOT IN THE CAR AT THE TIME.

( I HAD THE TOP GOT REPLACED ONLY AFTER COUPLE OF MONTHS AFTER I PURCHASED THE CAR.) TODAY APRIL 27 2018 I COULD NOT START THE CAR IN THE MORNING TO GO TO WORK, THE DISPLAY WAS SHOWING THE KEY IS NOT DETECTED( HAD TO EXIT THE CAR COUPLE OF TIMES, WITH THE KEY AND TRY AGAIN TO START THE CAR UNTIL IT FINALLY WORKED).HAD MY TOP OPEN WHILE WAS DRIVING TO WORK AND ONCE PARKED THE TOP WOULD NOT CLOSE, AND AGAIN HAD TO EXIT THE CAR LOCK UNLOCK AN TRY AGAIN COUPLE OF TIMES BEFORE IF FINALLY CLOSED. FEDERAL LAW EXPLICITLY PROHIBITS DEALERSHIPS FROM SELLING A NEW CAR IF A PENDING RECALL HASN'T BEEN PERFORMED.
