TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 1994 MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS. WITHIN FIVE MINUTES OF PARKING THE VEHICLE, IT CAUGHT FIRE. THE FIRE ORIGINATED UNDERNEATH THE HOOD ON THE DRIVER SIDE NEAR THE TIRE. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE AND FILED A REPORT. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN SEPTEMBER OF 2007 FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 07V336000 (VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL). THE PURCHASE DATE WAS UNKNOWN. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 85,000.

BRAKE SWITCH AT BRAKE PEDAL WIRE BREAKS AND VEHICLE WILL NOT GEAR SELECTOR IS LOCKED IN THE PARK POSITION AND NO BRAKE LIGHTS. AIR IDLE SOLENOID HUMS LOUDLY. ENGINE LOSES OIL AND NO APPARENT OIL LEAKS. BRAKES MAKES GRINDING NOISES AFTER REPLACING ROTORS AND DEALER BRAKE PADS FRONT AND REAR. POWER WINDOW ON DRIVERS SIDE WORKS INTERMITTENTLY.
