TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2001 MERCURY GRAND MARQUIS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD ROLL SLIGHTLY WHEN THE GEAR WAS PLACED INTO PARK. THE CONTACT ENGAGED THE EMERGENCY BRAKE PRIOR TO EXITING THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 168,914.

WHILE DRIVING AT 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE SHIMMIED IN THE FRONT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP, WHERE THE MECHANIC RE-BALANCED AND ALIGNED THE TIRES. THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTED AFTER BEING TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THIS WAS AN ON GOING PROBLEM SINCE THE BEGINNING OF PURCHASE. THE CONSUMER HAD AN ADJUDICATION TO TAKE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. *AK THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN BACK TO THE DEALER ON MANY OCCASIONS FOR THE SHIMMY IN THE FRONT. THE DEALERSHIP REPLACED ALL FOUR TIRES AND THE DRIVESHAFT ASSEMBLY. THE VEHICLE DEVELOPED AN OIL LEAK THAT WAS ALSO ONGOING, SO THE DEALER REPLACED THE OIL PAN/OIL PAN GASKET AND THE REAR MAIN CRANK SHAFT SEAL. THE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY HAD TO BE REPLACED AS WELL. WHEN THE WEATHER WAS COLD, THE HOOD WOULD NOT POP OPEN AND THE RIGHT FRONT DOOR DID NOT CLOSE PROPERLY. *SCC *JB

WHEN SHIFTING VEHICLE INTO REVERSE IT WOULD GO FORWARD A FEW FEET BEFORE GOING BACKWARDS. IF SHIFTING VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL, IT WOULD GO FORWARD INSTEAD. DRIVER'S FOOT WAS NOT ON ACCELERATOR PEDAL. PROBLEM WAS INTERMITTENT. TAKEN VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP.*AK DEALER PERFORMED TESTS WITH FORD SCAN TOOL AND THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS FOUND/CONCERN COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. *TT
WHEN VEHICLE IS DRIVEN ON WET PAVEMENT REAR WHEELS HAVE NO TRACTION. PLEASE GIVE ANY FURTHER DETAILS.*AK

VEHICLE SUDDENLY ACCELERATED WHEN APPLYING BRAKES TO STOP AT APPROACHING STOP LIGHT, THIS OCCURRED FOR SECOND TIME. VEHICLE TAKEN TO DEALER.ON FIRST OCCASION DEALER WAS UNABLE TO LOCATE CAUSE. ON SECOND OCCASION DEALER REPLACED TRANSMISSION. FEEL FREE TO PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION ON THIS MATTER. *AK

ON INCLINE VEHICLE WILL ROLL BACK FAST WHEN STEPPING OFF THE BRAKES. ALSO VEHICLE IS DIFFICULT TO SHIFT INTO GEARS. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK
