RESEARCH BY OWNER INDICATES THAT AXLES FOR THIS, AND OTHER SIMILAR MERCURY AND FORDS HAD FACTORY AXLES INSTALLED THAT HAD NOT BEEN PROPERLY HEAT TREATED.
