DT: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT THE CONSUMER STRUCK A DEER AND EXPERIENCED DIFFICULTY STOPPING WITH THE BRAKES. THERE WAS DAMAGE TO THE FRONT HOOD AND HEADLIGHTS. NO POLICE REPORT WAS TAKEN. HE DROVE THE VEHICLE HOME. UPON INSPECTION THERE WAS CORROSION ON BRAKE LINES. HE SUSPECTED THIS WAS DUE TO DISSIMILAR METAL CORROSION AND ROAD SALTS. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED AT THIS TIME. *AK UPDATED 12/27/05. *JB THE BRAKE LINE BURST.

WHEN BRAKING HARD, THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR RESULTING IN LOSS OF BRAKES. I HAD TO USE THE E-BRAKE AND PUMP THE REGULAR PEDAL TO STOP. BRAKE FLUID WAS LEAKING FROM LINE LOCATED IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT NEXT TO DRIVER SIDE FRONT WHEEL WELL. *LA

I HAVE HAD NUMEROUS ONGOING PROBLEMS WITH THIS CAR. THE CHECK ENGINE LITE STILL COMES ON INTERMITTENLY FOR NO OBVIOUS REASON AND I HAVE REPLACED THE CARS WHOLE PROCESSOR AND STILL HAVE PROBLEMS. NOW I HAVE A GRINDING NOISE AND A VIBRATION WHEN I GO TO APPLY MY BRAKES. PUT NEW BRAKE SHOES ON 1 WEEK AGO AND ROTORS WERE IN GOOD SHAPE SO STILL HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE PROBLEM IS NOW. I HAVE EXHAUST FUMES OR GAS FUMES INSIDE THE VEHICLE AT TIMES. PLEASE, PLEASE HELP ME. I CAN'T AFFORD MUCH MORE. I HAVE ALL THE BASIC OIL CHANGES DONE AT 3000 MILES AND HAVE EVERY THING FIXED RIGHT AWAY. VSS HAS BEEN REPLACED 3 TIMES NOW.

RECENTLY I HAD FULL FRONT & BACK BRAKE JOB. WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR THE BRAKES WERE FINE. IN LESS THAN A YEAR I HAD ONLY 10% BRAKES LEFT. THE DAY I LEFT I LOST ALL BACK BRAKES. A MONTH LATER IT HAPPENED AGAIN. NOW THEY ARE SAYING FORD HAS RECALLED THE ANTI LOCK SYSTEM AND MASTER CYLINDER. PLEASE HELP.

AT 42,000 MILES THE VEHICLE HAD WARPED BRAKE ROTORS REPLACED 6 TIMES WHICH CAUSED VIBRATION AND EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK
ALL 4 BRAKE ROTORS CUT BY DISC BRAKE PADS, ALTHOUGH PAD LINING STILL EXCEEDS STATE INSPECION REQUIREMENTS. REPLACED ALL BRAKE PADS AND 1 ROTOR, RESURFACED OTHER 3 ROTORS. DEFECTS CAUSED STEERING AND HANDLING PROBLEMS DURING BRAKING.
WE HAVE HAD NUMEROUS AND EXTENDED REPAIRS ON THIS VEHICLE. THE DEALERTELLS US THAT THIS VEHICLE IS NOT LISTED UNDER THE RECALL NOTICES, HOWEVER, REPLACEMENTS HAVE BEEN MADE ON MOTOR MOUNTS, STRUTS, BRACKETS, AS WELL AS OTHER SITUATIONS. FORD CORP. WILL NOT ASSIST US. WE TAKE EXCELLENT CARE OF OUR VEHICLES AND PARTS JUST SEEM TO CORRODE AND FALL OFF. WE FEEL WE ARE ENTITLED TO SOME FORM OF COMPENSATION. $4,000 IN REPAIRS ALONE IN THE PAST 6 MONTHS. PRIOR WE HAVE HAD MAJOR BRAKE REPAIRS INCLUDING SEIZED CALIPERS ON BOTH SETS AND BRAKE BOOSTER CABLE, COOLING SYSTEM FAILURES, HEAD GASKET FAILURES, BALL JOINTS, SPRINGS/COILS, STRUTS, ETC. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THIS VEHICLE IS NOT UNDER RECALL NOTICES, WHEN ALL INDICATIONS POINT TO THE FACT THAT IT IS AND WE ARE HAVING DIFFICULTIES IN THOSE AREAS. PLEASE ASSIST US IN ANY WAY POSSIBLE. WE DID GO THROUGH A REVIEW PROCESS WITH FORD AND THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO ASSIST US. THE DEALER FELT THEY COULD HAVE GIVEN US SOMETHING TOWARDS A NEW PURCHASE. HE ALSO SAID OUR ONLY RECOURSE IS TO GO THROUGH THE LEGAL CHANNELS. WE ARE AT A POINT THAT WE HAVE PUT SO MUCH MONEY INTO THE VEHICLE THAT OUR RESOURCES ARE LIMITING IN THE PURCHASE OF ANOTHER CAR.

VEHICLE EXPERIENCED BRAKE FAILURE WHILE DRIVING WHEN 3/8"X 3/8" PLASTIC "T" ON THE VACUUM SYSTEM SNAPPED. *AK
WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES AT HIGH SPEED THERE WAS A SLIGHT SHIMMY IN THE FRONT END. AT 48,000 MILES THE ROTORS HAVE TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE THE PITS ARE TOO DEEP TO MACHINE OUT. *AK CONSUER WAS ADVISED THAT ROTORS WERE CORRODED TO TURN DOWN AND WOULD BE TO THIN FOR SAFE BRAKING BEYOND LIMIT, ALSO BRAKE PADS WERE REPLACED AT 48,000.*JB
