WAS ON MY WAY HOME FROM WORK AND HEARD A LOUD SCREECH, SINCE I WAS JUST DOWN THE STREET FROM MY HOME I PULLED IN MY DRIVEWAY AND THE TIRE BLEW. UPON INSPECTION I NOTICED THE TIRE WAS COMPLETELY SLASHED FROM THE FRONT RIGHT COIL SPRING BREAKING. NEW COIL SPRING STRUT SHOCK AND AXLE. *TR
MY DAUGHTER HAD JUST DRIVEN ALL OVER THE STATE WITH HER STUDENT TEACHING ASSIGNMENT. SHE WAS GOING TO TEACH FOR THE DAY WHEN SHE HAD TIRE FAILURE. SHE HAD JUST LEFT FROM HER APARTMENT GOING 10 MPH AND ABOUT ONE MILE FROM HER PLACE. THE COIL SPRING BROKE JABBING INTO HER TIRE AND CAUSING A BLOW OUT. WE HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED AND THE MECHANIC SAID THESE MECURIES AND FORD SABLES WERE GOOD FOR THIS KIND OD A PROBLEM. THEN I GOT ON LINE AND IT SAIS THAT ONE POINT BACK IN 95 THAT THESE KIND OF CARS HAD TO HAVE GUARDS TO PROTECT THE COILS FROM THE TIRES. I AM CONCERNED. *TR
WHEN I TOOK MY 1995 MERCURY SABLE TO A MECHANIC FOR AN OIL CHANGE, HE NOTIFIED ME THAT BOTH REAR SPRINGS WERE BROKEN. HE SHOWED IT TO ME AND I SAW IT FOR MYSELF. FURTHERMORE, ONE SPRING HAD WORN A VISIBLE GROOVE IN THE RIGHT REAR TIRE. IT WAS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE MY CAR FURTHER AND IT MUST BE REPAIRED IMMEDIATELY AT A COST OF $700. THE REPAIR IS SCHEDULED FOR NEXT WEEK AND INCLUDES REAR STRUTS, REAR SPRINGS AND THE ASSOCIATED MOUNTING BRACKETS. MY MECHANIC SAYS THIS IS A DEFECT IN THE STEEL USED FOR THE SPRINGS AND IS A COMMON PROBLEM ON FORD PRODUCTS AND THEY FIX A LOT OF THEM. *JB

SABLE .2 MONTHS AGO MY RIGHT FROM SPRING BROKE AND WENT THROUGH MY TIRE I WAS ABLE TO CONTROLE IT TILL WE STOPED BUT THE CAR WAS SO BAD IT NEEDED A TOW AND $375.00 TO FIX IT.I WAS TOLD IT WAS A DEFECTIVE SPRING AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN RECALLED.AND THEY HAVE FIXED A LOT OF CARS LIKE MINE WITH BAD SPRINGS.THEN JUST TODAY THE LEFT FRONT SPRING BROKE AND AGAIN INTO THE TIRE IT WENT.THIS TIME IT COST $260.00 TO FIX IT.AND AGAIN I WAS TOLD IT WAS A DEFECTIVE SPRING FROM FACTORY.THIS WAS A DIFERENT AUTO REPAIR IN DIFFERENT STATE.HE ALSO SAID HE THOUGHT THERE WAS A RECALL ON THEM.I NEVER GOT A RECALL NOTICE FROM FORD DEAL IN HICKSVILL OHIO WHERE THE CAR WAS BOUGHT NEW??IS THERE A PROBELM WITH THE SPRINGS IF SO WHO OWES ME THE COST OF FIXING IT .
WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE CONSUMER NOTICED THAT THE FRONT COIL SPRINGS WERE BROKEN. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE DRIVER THAT THE FRONT COIL SPRINGS WERE BROKEN AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *JB
THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A MECHANIC FOR AN INSPECTION. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT THE REAR COIL SPRINGS WERE BROKEN AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. PLEASE PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *JB
CAR WAS PARKED IN DRIVE WHEN GOT IN TO DRIVE WOULD NOT MOVE. AFTER INSPECTION WE FOUND THAT THE COIL SPRING HAD SHEARED OFF AND WAS LAYING RIGHT BY VEHICLE. UPON FURTHER INSPECTION FOUND BOTH SIDES TO BE BROKEN. CAR HAS NOT BEEN DRIVEN ROUGH AND WAS STILL IN GOOD CONDITION OTHERWISE. NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE AT THIS TIME BUT CONTACTED DEALER AND WOULD COST MAJOR TO REPAIR.*AK
WHILE DRIVING, A LOUD CLANKING NOISE WAS HEARD COMING FROM THE REAR. THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER. THE DRIVER NOTICED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE COIL SPRING SHEARED OFF. THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE DRIVER THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE COIL SPRING NEEDED REPLACEMENT. PLEASE FILL IN ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. *JB
WHEN BEGINNING TO BACK CAR OUT OF GARAGE, DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT COIL SPRING FAILED. LEFT FENDER SAGGED NOTICEABLY AND PIECE OF SPRING WAS FOUND ON FLOOR OF GARAGE UNDER CAR. AFTER HAVING CAR TOWED TO REPAIR SHOP, INVESTIGATION SHOWED RIGHT SIDE FRONT COIL SPRING TO ALSO BE BROKEN, BUT STILL IN PLACE. *LA

WHEN THE CONSUMER STARTED THE VEHICLE AND DROVE SLOWLY ABOUT 50 FEET, HE DISCOVERED THE TWO FRONT COILS SPRINGS WERE BROKE AND THE VEHICLE HAD A FLAT TIRE. THE COIL SPRINGS BROKE DUE TO CORROSION. *AK *JB

I HAVE A 1995 MERCURY SABLE THAT HAS A BAD HEAD GASKET. I WAS TOLD BY MY MECHANIC THAT THERE WAS A RECALL BY FORD, BUT AFTER CALLING AND LEAVING MESSAGES, I AM UNABLE TO CONFIRM THIS. PLEASE ADVISE. THANK YOU! I AM ALSO LISTING NUMEROUS PROBLEMS THAT HAVE OCCURRED WITH THE SUSPENSION AND BRAKES IN THE LAST YEAR.

VEHICLE WAS GOING DOWN THE HILL AND BLACK SMOKE WAS COMING FROM REAR. DRIVER'S FRONT TIRE BLEWOUT DUE TO COIL SPRING SLIPPING DOWN OVER THE STRUT WHICH PUSHED UP AGAINST THE TIRE AND PUNCTURING IT. DEALER WAS NOTIFIED. PLEASE PROVIDE MORE INFORMATION.*AK
WHILE TRYING TO MAKE A TURN VEHICLE SLOWS DOWN ON ITS OWN. ALSO, IS HARD TO START UP VEHICLE.*AK
VEHICLE WAS IN FOR A OIL CHANGE. CONSUMER NOTICED HIGH BEAMS WERE NOT SHINING RIGHT DISTANCE. ALSO, DEALER NOTICED THAT BOTH FRONT COIL SPRINGS WERE BROKEN. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION. CONSUMER FELT BOTH COIL SPRINGS SHOULD NOT HAVE BROKEN AT THE SAME TIME. FEELS ITS A MANUFACTURER'S DEFECT.*AK
BOTH FRONT SPRINGS BROKE, CAUSING THE FRONT END TO COME DOWN ON THE FRAMES.*YD*JG
FRONT COIL SPRINGS BROKE OFF, MECHANIC STATED THIS SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED, THERE IS A RECALL 98I002, HOWEVER IT ONLY COVERS 1993 YEAR SABLES. *SLC
THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE STRUT SPRING BROKE WHILE THE CAR WAS PARKED. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO BE FIXED. WHEN THE MECHANIC INSPECTED THE OTHER SPRING 2 OF THEM WERE CRACKED AND IN NEED OF REPLACEMENT. THE CAR ISN'T DRIVEN HARD. IT IS DRIVEN 40 MILES A DAY FIVE DAYS A WEEK.*AK
WHILE DRIVING, FRONT COIL SPRINGS BROKE, CAUSING FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE TO DROP. *AK LOWER REAR SUBFRAME MOUNT PLATE NUT HAS BEEN REPLACED. FLUCTUATING SPEEDOMETER WAS REPLACED. STARTER AND WIRE HARNESS HAVE BEEN REPLACED. MUFFLER AND TAIL PIPE HAVE BEEN REPLACED. 2 FRONT COIL SPRINGS AND STRUT BEARING PLATES HAVE BEEN REPLACED. *SLC
WHILE DRIVING OUT OF DRIVEWAY FOUND OUT THAT LEFT FRONT TIRE WAS FLAT. TOOK VEHICLE TO SHOP FOR TIRE REPAIR AND FOUND OUT THAT FRONT COILS SPRING WERE BROKEN IN TWO PARTS, HAD PUNCHURED TIRE.*AK

CONSTANT NOISE IN REAR WHEELS. *AK
THE FRONT SPRING BROKE WHILE GOING AT A LOW RATE OF SPEED. THE CAR WAS COMPLETLY UNDRIVABLE AND IF IT WAS GOING AT A HIGHER RATE OF SPEED COULD HAVE HAD MAJOR PROBLEMS. THIS HAPPENED 113 MILES AFTER THE CAR WAS AT THE DEALERS FOR A RECALL THAT REPLACED THE SUB FRAME MOUNTS FOR THE PART THAT SUPPORTS THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION. I FEEL THAT WHILE MAKING REPAIRS THEY CRACKED THE SPRING, OR THAT SPRINGS ARE MADE OF SUB STANDARD MATERAL.
MISSING BOLT FROM THE CV SHAFT AND OUTER TIE ROD CAUSED THE COMPONENTS TO COLLAPSE AND RESULTED IN ABS BRAKE FAILURE AND SEVERAL OTHER COMPONENT FAILURES. MJS
A WASHER WAS MISSING FROM THE TOP LEFT REAR STRUT, CAUSING VEHICLE TO SHAKE. *AK
WHILE DRIVING THE PASSENGER'S FRONT COIL SPRING BROKE, PUNCTURING THE TIRE AND CAUSING A TIRE BLOW OUT AND ALMOST AN ACCIDENT. PROLBEM SIMILAR TO PREVIOUS YEAR MODEL RECALL. *AK
RIGHT FRONT COIL SPRING FAILED WHILE PARKED AT SUPERMARKET.
FRONT STABILIZER BAR FAILED.
FRONT END MISALIGNED.
