DT: THE PROBLEM BEGAN IN MAY. WHILE IT WAS RAINING AND THE OWNER WAS TRYING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN, THE STEERING WHEEL TIGHTENED UP. THE OWNER HAD TO STOP THE CAR AND TURN THE WHEEL REALLY HARD TO TURN. IT FELT LIKE THE CAR DID NOT HAVE POWER STEERING. THE PROBLEM HAPPENED MOSTLY IN THE RAIN. THE OWNER TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP, AND THEY WILL REPAIR IT, BUT IT WILL COST THE OWNER. THERE WAS RECALL 00V225000 BUT THE OWNER'S VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE OWNER CONTACTED MITTSUBISHI, BUT THEY WON'T DO ANYTHING SINCE THERE IS NO RECALL ON THIS CAR. THE OWNER WILL HAVE IT REPAIRED TOMORROW. ALSO, HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS. THIS BEGAN LAST MONTH. THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WORKED JUST FINE UNTIL THE OWNER SHUTS THEM OFF. THE OWNER DIDN'T KNOW WHEN THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS WILL ACTUALLY SHUT OFF. THERE WAS A RECALL FOR OLDER MODELS. *AK
NOT ONLY DO I HAVE THE AGGREVATION OF BENT RIMS AND FLAT TIRES, AND FINANCIAL HARDSHIP ON THIS, MY LEFT SIDE OF THE CAR DOESN'T ALIGN TO THE RIGHT. WATER LEEKS IN ON THE LEFT SIDE. SOMETIMES THE HEATER BLOWS OUT COOL AIR. THE SUNROOF SHAKES WHEN OPENING. I ALREADY HAD A MANUFACUTERS DEFECT IN MY STRUT ON THE LEFT SIDE. I HAVE SCTRACHES ON THE LEFT SIDE FOM THE CAR SCRAPPING THE GROUND WHEN I MAKE A RIGHT HAND TURN. I HAD TO HAVE THE COOLING SYSTEM REPLACED THE FIRST WEEK I FINANCED IT.MY HOOD WON'T OPEN AND MY HEADLIGHTS FAIL CAUSING ME TO DIRVE ONLY WITH THE FOG LIGHTS. ALL THESE ISSUES ARE THE SAME AND CONSTANT SINCE I PURCHASED THIS LEMON.*AK

THE DRIVER WAS FOLLOWING A DUMP TRUCK WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH. THE DUMP TRUCK STARTED LOSING ROCKS FROM THE BACK OF THE VEHICLE. THE DRIVER TRIED TO AVOID THE ROCKS, HOWEVER, A ROCK HIT THE SUNROOF OF THE CONSUMER'S VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE SUNROOF GLASS BROKE CAUSING THE GLASS TO ENTER THE VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER STATES THAT, "THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THE SUNROOF GLASS HAS BROKEN." PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER DETAILS. *NM
THE REAR DEFROSTER FELL OFF INTO THE VEHICLE. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER, AND REAR WINDOW EXPLODED, SENDING GLASS INTO THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT.*AK

MASTER BRAKE CYLIINDER WAS LEAKING AND REPLACED. #3. PCM CHIP REPLACED. #4. WINDOW MOULDINGS FOR FRONT AND BACK WINSHIELDS HAVE COME OFF.*AK

WHILE SITTING IN PARKING LOT REAR WINDOW BROKE INTO MILLIONS OF PIECES. MR
REAR WINDOW SHATTERED IN CONVERTABLE TOP AT 15 MPH AFTER NORMAL ACCELEORATION FROM 0 MPH. WE WERE STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT FOR SEVERAL MINUTES WITH NO OTHER VEHICLES OR PERSONS PRESENT TO EITHER SIDE OR REAR OF VEHICLE. WE WERE IN A SMALL LINE OF TRAFFIC, 4 PASSENGER CARS FROM OUR POSITION TO THE TRAFFIC LIGHT. OTHER PROBLEMS NOTED BY MITSUBISHI DEALERSHIP BEFORE REAR WINDOW GLASS FAILURE ARE EXCESSIVE MOVEMENT/POPPING OF REAR GLASS AT SPEEDS OF 50+ MPH. PULLING/STRETCH MARKS IN FABRIC OF TOP AROUND REAR WINDOW GLASS, FABRIC HAD BEGUN TO "SHRINK" UPWARDS ON THE PASSENGER AND DRIVERS SIDE OF TOP ABOVE FRONT WINDOWS EXPOSING INTERIOR OF TOP. UPON INSPECTION OF THE ITEMS BY MITSUBISHI DEALER THEY CONSIDERED ALL OF THE ABOVE ITEMS NORMAL WEAR ON CONVERTABLE TOP. MITSUBISHI DENIED WARRANTY CLAIM SAYING THAT "WINDOW GLASS DOES NOT JUST BREAK ON IT'S OWN". MR
CONSUMER STATES THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS FAIL INTERMITTENTLY. NLM
REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER DETACHED IN SEPTEMBER OF 2000. AT THIS TIME DEFROSTER HAS DETACHED AGAIN.*AK

3 INCH THICK FOG DEVELOPS AND CONTINOUSLY MOVES UP ON INSIDE OF WINDSHIELD WHEN TURNING ON DEFROSTER, CAUSING A DISTRACTION TO DRIVER. CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER TWICE FOR THIS DEFECT, BUT COULD NOT CORRECT DEFECT.*AK *SLC

AFTER OPENING BOTH FRONT WINDOWS THEY WOULD CLOSE WITH A WHITE FILM ON THEM. CONSUMER COULD NOT SEE OUT WINDOW. DEALER TOOK DOOR ASSEMBLY APART, AND RETURNED VEHICLE AS REPAIRED WITHOUT TELLING CONSUMER WHAT CASE HAD BEEN.*AK CONSUMER STATES WHEN THE WINDOWS WERE ROLLED DOWN, THEY SOUNDED LIKE THEY WERE GOING TO BREAK, WINDOWS HAVE NEVER BEEN FIXED. *SLC
