THE CAR HAS BEEN ACCUMULATING FLUID ON THE FLOOR OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE. USURE OF WHERE THE PROBLEM WAS, WE HAVE BEEN ABSORBING THE WATER AND AIRING OUT THE CAR. MOLD HAS ACCUMULATED AS WELL (BLACK MOLD) AND NOW I KNOW WHY I'VE HAD REPEATED RESPIRATORY PROBLEMS, INCLUDING PNEUMONIA THREE TIMES OVER THE PAST 2 YEARS. RUST IS ALSO FORMING DUE TO THE CONSTANT HUMIDITY LEVELS INSIDE THE CAR. THE BRAKE PEDAL SEEMS TO BE RUSTING AS WELL AS THE DRIVER'S SIDE CHAIR FLOOR MOUNT. I CANNOT SEE WHAT IS HAPPENING TO THE ELECTRICAL WIRING, AS IT IS COVERED BY THE PANELS. THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS TIMES THAT DUE TO THE LIQUID ON THE FLOOR OF THE DRIVER'S SIDE, MY FOOT HAS SLIPPED WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE WHICH HAS LED TO POTENTIAL ACCIDENTS. AS I CANNOT SEE THE FLOOR ITSELF (DUE TO THE CARPETING), I DON'T KNOW IF THAT IS RUSTING OUT AS WELL. I HAVE NOT TAKEN IT TO A DEALER YET, SINCE I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT THE PROBLEM WAS... I THOUGHT THAT MAYBE RAIN WAS GETTING INTO THE CAR SOMEHOW. WELL, SINCE IT HASN'T RAINED IN OVER ONE WEEK, AND THE PUDDLE IN THE CAR WAS WORSE THAN EVER BEFORE, I SUSPECTED THE A/C SYSTEM. I WENT ONLINE AND HAVE FOUND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS AND YET THERE IS NO RECALL? I AM APPALLED THAT THIS SITUATION HAS NOT BEEN ADDRESSED? FUNGAL RESPIRATORY INFECTIONS CAN LEAD TO DEATH, ESPECIALLY FOR THOSE WHO ARE VULNERABLE. SLIPPERY BRAKE PEDALS, RUSTING FLOOR BOARDS AND RUSTING SEAT FLOOR ANCHORS, POTENTIAL FOR ELECTRICAL SHORTS AND/OR FIRES ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE. THE COMPANY HAS APPARENTLY NOT TAKEN RESPONSIBILITY FOR THESE ISSUES. PERHAPS IT WILL TAKE A DEATH FOR A RECALL? I WOULD LIKE TO EMPHASIZE THAT NO MECHANIC WAS ABLE TO DEFINITIVELY TELL US WHERE THIS LEAK WAS COMING FROM, NOR WERE WE ABLE TO TELL... UNTIL NOW. IT HAS BEEN TWO YEARS. THIS CAR HAS NO RESELL VALUE AND SHOULD NOT BE SOLD DUE TO THE POTENTIAL FOR SERIOUS HARM. THIS MATTER IS LONG OVERDUE!

THIS PROBLEM IS NOT RELATED TO THE AGE OF VEHICLE, NOR IS IT OWNER-CREATED. IT IS A MANUFACTURER DESIGN FLAW. DRIVER-SIDE FRONT FLOOR STAYS SOAKING WET. SHOES GET WET AND SLIPPERY WHICH IS DANGEROUS WHILE PRESSING ON GAS AND BRAKE PEDALS (DRIVING HAZARD). MOLD CONTINUES TO GROW EVEN AFTER CLEANED (HEALTH HAZARD). TOLD THAT THE PROBLEM IS A FAILED GROMMET FROM THE EVAPORATOR CORE DRAIN. NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED ($700 REPAIR ESTIMATE TO REPLACE GROMMET). DUE TO HEALTH AND SAFETY HAZARDS, A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED FOR THIS MANUFACTURER FLAW/FAULTY MATERIAL!

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 MITSUBISHI ENDEAVOR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR WHEEL BEGAN TO MAKE CONTACT WITH THE FRAME OF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE SUB FRAME HAD RUSTED NEAR THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL CAUSING THE A-ARM TO SEPARATE AND THE WHEEL TO LEAN INWARD. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 170,000.

THE ROOF RACK HAS VERY FLIMSY PAINT AND HAS BEEN PEELING FOR YEARS. I CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD IT WAS NOT COVERED. I COMMUTE ON THE FREEWAY AND 90% OF THE ENDEAVORS I SEE HAVE PAINT PEELING OFF THEIR ROOF RACK. I HAVE KEPT THIS CAR IN THE GARAGE FOR THE LAST 8 OUT OF 10 YEARS. IT HAS BEEN PROTECTED FROM THE ELEMENTS AND ISN'T DRIVEN MUCH AND STILL THE ROOF RACK LOOKS AWFUL! IF I WERE LOOKING TO BUY A NEW CAR AND SAW THIS, I CERTAINLY WOULD NOT WANT A CAR WITH A PAINT PROBLEM. *TR

DRIVER SIDE FLOOR STAYS SOPPING WET. I AM ASSUMING THIS IS FROM THE AC DRAIN HOSE. MECHANICS WANT $700-1000 TO ATTEMPT TO FIX THE PROBLEM, BUT SAY THERE ARE NO GUARANTEES AS THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING DEFECT WITH THE 2004 ENDEAVOR. THIS RAISES SEVERAL SAFETY ISSUES WITH MAIN ONE BEING THAT FEET ARE WET AND SLIPPERY AND LIKELY TO CAUSE BEING UNABLE TO BRAKE AS NEEDED DUE TO FOOT SLIPPING OFF PEDAL. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 MITSUBISHI ENDEAVOR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN IT RAINED, WATER WOULD PENETRATE THE VEHICLE AND SATURATE THE DRIVER'S SIDE FLOORBOARD AREA. THE DEALER REPLACED THE WINDSHIELD AND THE DASH BOARD WAS REMOVED AND INSPECTED, HOWEVER THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THERE COULD HAVE BEEN A DEFECTIVE FIREWALL AND INSULATION THAT CAUSED THE WATER TO PENETRATE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 145,000.

THE A/C DRAIN TUBE LEAKS AND CAUSES WATER TO POOL UP ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE FLOORBOARD UNDERNEATH THE CARPETING. I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE LOOKED AT TWO TIMES AND ALL THEY CAN DO IS BLOW THE TUBE OUT, WHICH ONLY TEMPORARILY FIXES THE PROBLEM. IT IS RECOMMENDED TO HAVE THE DASH REMOVED IN ORDER TO GET TO THE BOX WHERE THE DEBRIS IS LOCATED TO REPAIR THE SEAL. I DON'T HAVE HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS TO HAVE THIS DONE, NOR CAN I DO WITHOUT MY VEHICLE FOR SEVERAL DAYS! THIS SHOULD BE MADE A RECALL BECAUSE IT BECOMES NOT ONLY A SAFETY HAZARD, BUT ALSO A HEALTH HAZARD. THE WATER MAKES THE FLOORBOARD WET, CAUSES THE WINDOWS TO FOG UP ON THE INSIDE AND CAUSES THE FLOORING UNDER THE CARPETING TO POSSIBLY BECOME CORRODED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 MITSUBISHI ENDEAVOR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, SHE ATTEMPTED TO APPLY THE BRAKES AND HER FOOT SLID OFF OF THE PEDAL DUE TO HER FOOT BEING WET. SHE THEN NOTICED THAT THE ENTIRE FLOORBOARD WAS WET. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE DRAIN SYSTEM FROM THE SUN ROOF COULD HAVE BEEN THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 115,000.

I NOTICED THAT THE FLOOR ON THE DRIVER SIDE OF MY MITSUBISHI ENDEAVOR 2004, BOUGHT IN THE SAME YEAR, WAS SOAKING WET AND COULDN'T UNDERSTAND WHY SINCE IT WAS NOT RAINING. MY SON NOTICED THAT THE FLOOR GETS SOAKING WET WHENEVER HE OR I USE THE CAR. I SUSPECT THAT IT MIGHT BE THE AIRCON LEAKING BUT DIDN'T BRING IT TO THE MECHANIC BECAUSE I WAS SCARED OF THE EXPENSE WHICH I CANNOT AFFORD NOW THAT WE'RE ON FIXED INCOME. SINCE JUNE 2013, HOWEVER, THE LEAKING HAS NOTICEABLY INCREASED, AND MY SON USED THICK BATH TOWELS TO DRY THE FLOOR, BUT I NOTICED THAT THE TOWELS GET SOGGY WITH WHATEVER IS LEAKING, BUT EVEN A COUPLE OF THICK BATH TOWELS NOT ENOUGH TO DRY THE FLOOR. BEING CONCERNED ABOUT IT BECAUSE IT'S STARTING TO SMELL MILDEW INSIDE MY CAR, I TOLD HIM TO VACUUM IT, BUT IT STILL REMAINS WET AND STINKY THAT I'M SCARED FOR MY HEALTH AND THAT OF MY SON AS HE HAS DEVELOPED SEVERE ALLERGY, AND I'D BEEN SICKLY ALSO, BUT I CREDIT MINE TO OLD AGE, BUT CANNOT UNDERSTAND HIS SINCE HE DIDN'T HAVE IT BEFORE. MY 2004 MITSUBISHI ENDEAVOR HAS SOME SORT OF PROBLEM THAT SEEMS TO BE THE SAME AS OTHERS. THE FLOORBOARDS ARE SOAKING WET AND ARE CAUSING OUR FEET TO SLIP WHEN PRESSING ON THE BRAKE AND GAS PEDALS. THE CARPET IS CONSTANTLY COVERED IN MOLD BECAUSE OF ALL THE MOISTURE AND THE SMELL IS MISTY AND SOMETIMES UNBEARABLE. HAVE A YOUNG CHILD WITH ASTHMA AND ALLERGIES AND A NEWBORN. I HAVE NOT FIXED THE PROBLEM BECAUSE THERE IS A DEALERSHIP, BUT WANTS TO CHARGE $1,000 TO FIX A DESIGN FLAW. MITSUBISHI MOTORS HAS A TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN (TSB-09-55-002) TO FIX THE PROBLEM BY DRILLING INTO WHERE THE WATER ACCUMULATES AND INSTALL A SECONDARY DRAIN. *TR

WE NOTICED A LOT OF WATER ON THE DRIVERS SIDE FLOORBOARD AFTER RECEIVING THE CAR BACK FROM RECEIVING HAIL DAMAGE REPAIR. WE CONTACTED THE AUTO REPAIRMAN ASSUMING THAT THE WATER WAS ASSOCIATED WITH THE REPAIR. WE WERE TOLD THAT IT WAS NOT THAT THE MITSUBISHI ENDEAVOR HAS A DESIGN DEFECT WITH THE HEATER CORE AND AC DRAINAGE. A SECOND MECHANICAL OPINION CONFIRMED THIS. WE VACUUMED THE CAR USING A SHOP VAC AND DOCUMENTED 4 INCHES OF WATER REMOVED FROM THE CAR ON TWO SEPERATE VACUUMING SESSIONS. A MEMBER OF THE FAMILY IS ALLERGIC TO MOLD AND HAS FOUND THE RESULTING MOLD TO BE A HEALTH HAZARD. THIS IS THE ONLY MODE OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE FAMILY AND THE QUOTED COST OF REPAIRS IS IN A RANGE OF $400-$900. THE WET FLOOR PRESENTS A POTENTIAL FOR PHYSICAL HARM AS IT IS EXTREMELY WET. *TR

LIKE MANY, MANY REPORTS THE DRIVERS SIDE FLOOR MAT IS SATURATED AND POOLED WITH WATER FROM THE AC/HVAC SYSTEM DRAINAGE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURE HAS TSB'S ON ON THE ISSUE WITH FOAM GASKET REPLACEMENT OR INITIALLY DRILLING A HOLE CLEANING IT OUT AND INSTALLING A RUBBER PLUG TSB-08-55-007. NOW INSTALLATION OF A HOSE USED FOR RADIATOR OVERFLOW ON AN ECLIPSE NOW BEING SUGGESTED NO: TSB-11-55-003. HOW IS THIS NOT A DESIGN FLAW AND HOW IS THE MOLD AND MOISTURE ISSUE NOT A SAFETY CONCERN. THE INTERNAL CAB PARTS ARE NOT COATED OR TREATED TO INHIBIT RUST FROM THIS EXCESSIVE MOISTURE. THE EXCESSIVE MOISTURE INSIDE THE VEHICLE ALSO ACCUMULATES ON THE INSIDE WINDSHIELD OF THE VEHICLE AS IT REMOVED THRU THE SYSTEM BUT RE-ENTERS THRU THE FIREWALL INTO THE FLOOR. *TR

TO CORRECT THIS PROBLEM IT WILL COST THE CONSUMER APPROXIMATELY $800.00. THIS IS CLEARLY AN ENGINEER DEFECT/FLAW. WE WERE TOLD BY AN MITSUBISHI SERVICE REP THAT THE FOLLOWING YEAR (2005) IT WAS CORRECTED. OBVIOUSLY MITSUBISHI WAS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM. WHY WASN'T A RECALL DONE ON THIS PROBLEM? I THINK IT CERTAINLY WARRANTS ONE. HOW MANY OTHER PEOPLE HAVE BEEN AFFECTED BY THIS? WHY SHOULD THE CONSUMER ASSUME COSTS FOR SOMETHING THAT WAS NOT MADE CORRECTLY? THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED WHO ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO PULL THE AC UNIT AWAY FROM THE FIREWALL AND REPLACE A FAILED SEAL BETWEEN THE FIREWALL AND THE A/C BOX. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE ISSUE AND THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 147,000.

BOUGHT THIS 2004 MITSUBISHI ENDEAVOR USED WITH 64K MILES IN JANUARY. STARTED USING THE AIR THIS SUMMER AND NOTICED DRIVER'S SIDE FLOOR IS SOAKING WET AFTER EACH USE. FOUND ONLINE THAT MULTIPLE PEOPLE ARE HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE. CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY CONFIRMED THAT MITSUBISHI IS AWARE OF IT AND HAVE PUT TOGETHER A FIX BETWEEN $220-$350 BUT THERE IS NO RE-CALL. I WAS TOLD THE PROBLEM IS A FAILED SEAL IN THE A/C UNIT. ALSO, HAD TO HAVE THE EGR SENSOR REPLACED TWICE. CALLED MITSUBISHI AND THEY SAID NOTHING THEY CAN DO BECAUSE THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY. IT RAN $400-$500 EACH TIME AT THE DEALERSHIP. *TR

THE DRAIN TUBE IS TOO SHORT AND LOCATED INSIDE THE FIREWALL AND NEEDS TO BE LENGTHENED OUT OF THE FIREWALL (PER MITSUBISHI TSB-11-55-003). THE FLOORING CONTINUES TO BE SOAKED WITH WATER EVEN WHEN THE AC IS NOT IN OPERATION. THIS IS AN UNSAFE CONDITION DUE TO THE STEPPING ON THE WET FLOOR MAT AND CAUSING THE BREAK PEDAL AND GAS PEDAL TO BECOME WET, CAUSING YOUR FOOT TO SLIP OFF THE PEDALS WHEN WET.
