WHILE TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING. THE PULLEY BELT CAME OFF AND PARTS OF THE ENGINE FELL OFF. THE DEALERSHIP IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM.
THE TRANSMISSION MAKES NOISE WHEN PULLED INTO GEAR. NLM
CONSUMER BEEN HAVING PROBLEM WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION THAT WILL NOT WORK FORWARD OR IN REVERSE. TECHNICIAN INDICATED THAT WAS DUE TO TORQUE CONVERTER. *AK

MY CAR IS ONLY THREE YEARS OLD AND HAS BEEN SERVICED AS SUGGESTED. ALL OF A SUDDEN MY TRANSMISSION GOES OUT. THE MANUFACTURER IS NOW TELLING ME THAT I WILL NEED A NEW ONE. THE CAR IS NOT THAT OLD AND IN MY OPINION I DO NOT FEEL THAT IT SHOULD ALREADY BE IN NEED OF AN OVERHAUL. MY BRAKES ARE ALSO BEGINNING TO FAIL. THE BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS HAVE ALREADY BEEN CHANGED TWICE AND NOW ARE BEGINNING TO GRIND AGAIN. AFTER HAVING IT CHECKED MY A MECHANIC, HE SAYS I DO NOT NEED NEW BRAKE PADS BUT THEY CONTINUE TO MAKE A GRINDING NOISE. NO ONE KNOWS WHAT IS CAUSING THIS NOISE. I HAVE CONTACTED MITSUBISHI'S CUSTOMER SERVICE LINE TO INQUIRE AND THEY HAVE BEEN OF NO HELP. THEY REFERRED ME TO YOU. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR TIME.

THE TRANSMISSION WAS JUST SERVICED IN JANUARY. I WAS NOT EXPERIENCING ANY OTHER PROBLEMS UNTIL ALL OF A SUDDEN IT STARTED SHIFTING REALLY HARD FROM 2ND TO 3RD. IT SHAKES AND THEN BANGS INTO GEAR.

5TH GEAR BROKE WHILE HIGHWAY CRUISING. HAD MULTIPLE PROBLEMS WITH TRANSMISSION FAILURE INCLUDING HARD SHIFT, RATTLING GEARS AND CLUTCH PROBLEMS. FOUND SHAFT WITHIN TRANSMISSION STRIPPED. GEAR WAS FREE SPINNING ON SHAFT. TRANSMISSION BEGINNING TO DISPLAY SAME SYMPTOMS AGAIN. FAILURE WITH TRANS HAS BEEN ABOUT EVERY 12,000 MILES. *AK
(AT AROUND 57, 000 MILES, WE HAD THE CAR SERVICED 11/30/99. INCLUDED WAS A 60,000 MILE TRANSMISSION CHECK AND SERVICE. ) ON APRIL 10, 2000, THE TRANSMISSION FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. IT WENT OUT OF GEAR INTO NEUTRAL SO MY HUSBAND HAD NO CONTROL OF THE CAR. HE WAS DRIVING IN OUR NEIGHBORHOOD, SO LUCKILY HE DIDN'T GET INTO AN ACCIDENT OR GET HURT. NOTE: SOME OF THE AUTO INFORMATION AND DEALER INFO IS INCOMPLETE--THE PAPERWORK IS IN THE CAR AT THE MECHANICS, I CAN GET THAT INFO IF YOU NEED. THANK YOU. *AK
TRANSMISSION UNDER WARRANTY, FIFTH GEAR FAILURE TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP WHO ORDER THE PARTS THEN SAID LATER THAT THE WHOLE TRANSMISSION NEEDED REPLACEMENT THEN SAID THE FOLLOWING INCORRECT LUBRICANT WAS PRESENT IN TRANSMISSION AT INSPECTION ?? HOW WHO DID THIS WHICH DEALERSHIP VEHICLE NOT SAFE TO DRIVE, THE TRANMISSION IS UNDER WARRANTY BUT DEALERSHIP REFUSES TO FIX TRANSMISSION
PROBLEM #1) IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE PURCHASE OF THE CAR, I BECAME AWARE THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM. THE CAR STALLS WHEN THE CLUTCH IS DEPRESSED. IT WILL OCCUR A DOZEN TIMES THROUGHOUT THE DAY AND THEN NOT HAPPEN FOR ANOTHER 6-8 MONTHS. IT HAPPENED FOR THE FIRST TIME APPROXIMATELY 6 MONTHS AFTER THE PURCHASE. I REPORTED IT TO COLONIAL AUTO CENTER AND NOTHING WAS FOUND WRONG. IT HAPPENED AGAIN IN JANUARY 1998 WHILE MY HUSBAND WAS DRIVING. AGAIN, I BROUGHT THE CAR BACK AND NOTHING WAS FOUND. IT HAPPENED IN THE SUMMER OF 1998, AND AGAIN IN APRIL OF 1999. PROBLEM #2) ON THE MORNING OF APRIL 25, 1999, I WENT TO START MY CAR AND GO TO WORK. THE HORN WAS STUCK ON! THE ONLY WAY I COULD STOP THE PROBLEM WAS TO PULL THE FUSE. THE DEALER SAID THE HORN BUTTON WAS PUSHED IN, EVEN THOUGH WHEN I GOT HOME THE DAY BEFORE, THE HORN WAS NOT BLOWING. THEY WOULD HAVE TO REPALCE THE ENTIRE AIR-BAG SYSTEM FOR $656.23.
VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO DEALER 5 TIMES FOR SAME PROBLEM. TRANSMISSION HARD TO SHIFT WHEN COLD. GRINDS BETWEEN 1ST AND 2ND GEAR. DIFFICULT OR UNABLE TO ENGAGE 1ST GEAR SOMETIMES. TRANSMISSION MAKES RATTLING NOISE WHEN IN NEUTRAL. DEALER REPLACED TRANSMISSION OF FIRST TRIP. REDUCED RATTLE SOUND BUT INCREASED SHIFTING DIFFICULTY. DEALER REPLACED SYNCRONIZERS AND HUB ASSEMBLY ON SECOND TRIP. GRINDING IMPROVED BUT SHIFT DIFFCULTY STILL PRESENT. HAVE TO START CAR IN SECOND OR THIRD GEAR SOMETIMES. CANNOT ENGAGE FIRST GEAR. THIRD AND FOURTH TRIP DEALER FOUND NO NOTICABLE PROBLEM. VEHICLE LOST 5TH GEAR APPROXAMENTLY 3 WEEKS AFTER LAST VISIT TO DEALER FOR SAME PROBLEM. VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING APPROXAMENTLY 65 MILES PER HOUR WHEN 5TH GEAR DISENGAGED AND GRINDING NOISES IMMEDIATELY CAME FROM ENGINE COMPARTMENT. VEHICLE RAPIDLY SLOWED DOWN AND EMERGENCY LANE CHANGE ACCROSS DENSE TRAFFIC WAS REQUIRED. 3RD AND 4TH GEARS WERE STILL USABLE WITHOUT PROBLEMS OR NOISE AND VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE LIMPED TO DEALER. VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT DEALER HAVING PROBLEM INSPECTED. *AK
IT IS HARD TO GOO TO THE FIRST GEAR IF STOPED. IT IS ALSO HARD TO CHANGE GEARS AS DRIVING. SOME TIMES IT IS WORSE THEN OTHERS, ESPECIALLY WHEN TRYING TO UPSHIFT WHILE PASSING OTHER CARS.
OVERHEAD DOME LIGHT AND SRS LIGHT COME ON. GAS GUAGE FAILS TO WORK PROPERLY, NOT SHOWING CORRECT AMOUNT OF FUEL. VEHICLE WANDERS UNEXPECTEDLY CARBON BUILD UP CAUSES VEHICLE TO STALL. SPEEDOMETER SHOWS DIFFERENT SPEED THAN ACTUALLY DOING; WHEELS VIBRATES; WAS TOLD TIRES CUPPING.
TRANSMISSION IS LEAKING FLUID. DEALER SAID THAT VEHICLE HAS THE WRONG TRANSMISSION FLUID. *AK
TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY BROKE DOWN ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT.
TRANSMISSION DOWN SHIFTS VERY VIOLENTLY WITH (VIBRATIONS).
