While driving on the highway the car did a "skip", then the CHECK TRANSMISSION LIGHT came on. I got off the highway, shut the car off, waited a while and started the car again. The light was off so I drove home. As I was driving the light came on again. The next time it came on the code was p084a. Have not had it checked by dealer yet. The mechanic said it would cost $5000-7000 to fix or replace. Every time the car sits and restart the light does not come on, sometimes I can drive for some time and nothing happens, sometimes the light comes on. Not sure what to do.

While driving to work at approximately 6:30 am , as I was signaling to merge onto the on ramp the cars gas pedal stop controlling the speed of my car. I pulled over to the side of the road and my car would not move. I tried to put the heat shifter into park but it was stuck in drive. I had to have the towed to a mechanic which informed me that I needed a new transmission. (3 different independent shops). After being told what it would cost to repair the vehicle the vehicle is still parked in my driveway.
Was driving up highway and all of a sudden it felt like the car was hesitating and had hard time shifting gears, when you pushed on the gas the Rpms would go up and down but it seemed like the car wouldn’t go anywhere. I was in the left lane and traffic if going 70, 80 mph and the car would not go anywhere. It had to be towed to a garage. We was almost rear ended because we couldn’t get the car to go to get it off the I do have a text message from the machine from garage

The car started using more fuel, hesitatingly, slipping gears wouldn’t go in gear, died while driving.
The CVT transmission would lose power when making a turn over last few yrs. My safety was put at risk due to oncoming traffic could have hit the car due to loss of power. The service transmission required light just started coming on after dealing with loss of power. Car only has 106,000 miles on it. The car is available for inspection & is currently at TMT Automotive in Bremen IN. Codes coming up are transmission issues. The loss of power issue started in 2018 when the car was purchased; I did not know this was a sign of transmission issue. There was not a warranty on the car when purchased. There were no lights or warnings until last week when the car started lurching forward & light came on for the first time for transmission service. I scheduled a diagnostic appt with TMT as soon as it happened. I do not have documentation yet due to car is at the TMT Automotive, waiting to hear on 3/25/24 from shop if the transmission is bad.
My transmission wasn't working properly. It is available for inspection if my vehicle can be towed where it needs to go as it does not drive on it's own. When my transmission stopped working I could have caused a collision. Yes, my vehicle has been inspected by the manufacturer. Some warning signs were the transmission taking longer than it should to go into gear and having trouble accelerating.
We purchased new a 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport which has a Recall regarding the CVT transmission causing Vehicle Hesitation when Accelerating increasing the risk of a crash. We began experiencing "Hesitation when Accelerating" along with a "Transmission Service Required Light" in November 2023. Upon contacting a Mitsubishi Dealership, we were told by a Service Rep that the Recall had already been performed on our vehicle and there was nothing else to do regarding the Recall. I explained that the problem with the CVT had not been correctly repaired due to the fact that we are now experiencing the cause and affect issues that mandated the Recall on the CVT Power Train. This is my wife's car and we are very concerned with this issue and the reluctance of Mitsubishi to correctly make the needed repairs under the Recall Notice.
I was driving on the highway on a trip and out of no where my car shuttered and then flashed service transmission soon, I pulled over and my car would no longer drive, reverse or go into neutral. The tow company reset my battery to try to reset my car system. After that my car wouldn’t really go past 60. I followed the tow truck to the nearest town and it stalled again at the light and I could no longer go at all, my car locked up and wouldn’t reset at that point. It’s an $1100 tow back home. The CVT transmission really needs to be rechecked and recalled. I’ve found too many issues and the same complaints but can’t find a recall on it at all.
The cvt transmissions aren't great. And goes out quite a bit. No warnings lights ever came on. Just a normal routine inspection to continue with being up to date with maintenance. This problem needs to be recalled.
Hesitation when pressing the accelerator. This is a recall that affects 2015-2016 Outlander Sports but according to my vin it isn't needed on this car. I regularly will slow to make a turn or to a stop light and when i try to go it can take 0.5-5.5 seconds before the car will actually move. This has led to a dozen times where i have almost been in an accident because of it.

The mileage is at 101162 and the main problem is when I try to reach 65 MPH speed I feel the transmission goes back to a lower speed so I always stock with 40 - 45 MPH and so hard to accelerate again. we own another 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport with 196k miles on it and never faced any transmission issues we always change the J4 fluid and the filter on time. for sure there's something wrong with this year's model (2015) from the manufacturer because our 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport with 196k miles is still sharp.

In addition, my safety was put at risk because my vehicle would not accelerate at a traffic light when needed to go. It would also not get up to speed when merging into the highway and it would not maintain the speed limit while driving. This was a very dangerous situation for me. I was not able to accelerate at stop lights, which could have caused me to get hit from behind. In addition to this, I was unable to maintain a safe speed on the highway. My car would only get up to 40 miles per hour when the speed limit would be 60 to 70 miles per hour. Furthermore, my car was taken to the Mitsubishi dealership service center and was inspected. I was told that I needed a new transmission. Lastly, the day before I took my car in to get diagnosed the serve light on my car came on and said, “Service Transmission Required.”

Driving nov 6 and I heard a noise, almost thought I hit a pot hole or something, come to a red light and dmy car .akes a whining noise and will not go. I put in a claim to my insurance company which was denied before they even looked at the car, I called back and made an adjuster look at the car because I had already been told that the transmission was going to cost about $7,000. I'm a single mother of two kids and I just finished paying that car off. So then I start reading about recalls after my insurance company denied the claim I've been without a car for about 4 weeks and I find out about the so many recalls that Mitsubishi had with the Outlander just I'm outside of the date of manufacturer so then I find this safety recall SR-17-005 for 2015 Outlander campaign C1606Z. Even when you look at the adjustice quote that I attached he doesn't have any idea what happened to the car He's saying now that it's the whole the whole transaxle that needs to be replaced not just the transmission so he's caught in a job at like $10,000 and I think my car is only worth between four and six why wouldn't he just total my car.

Purchased my used vehicle at my local dealer, in which,they just received into inventory and had not been reconditioned at all ,prepping for Resale,but this vehicle was still offered to me in a nonformal fashion; since my low credit,low deposit,and prior repos that It be best if I choose that one. the vehicle has displayed symptoms of shuddering since day one. Test drive was uneventful since we remained low speed.however, Immediately and if ever drive 55-75mph there would have shuddering and erratic rpm readings but would settle once slowed and time passed.the dealer was informed the next day of this + of all oil change,car wash,detail, inspection,etc. That were also offered as apart of the deal as well and they ONLY picked up the vehicle once ,second day after financing vehicle,BUT they Only installed a "GPS" device within the vehicle and ignored and downplayed all my requests and Accounts of the details of the matter ENTIRELY. The problem persisted and the dealer personnel gave me the run around and errors electronically that pushed this matter past warranty dateline and they informed me they were not obligated to any action. 2.5 - 3 years have passed living with these unresolved issues gotten used to it until Last month on the freeway the "service transmission" light illuminated it shuddered uncontrollably to a sudden stop where it was very difficult to steer to safe location,but Once I stopped the vehicle would always start up but not would it accelerate forward or backwards every time.sometimes yes ,and some not so much. Had to be towed home and seemed to drive About half of a block distance only as have had been completely cool,as opposed to warm or hot and attempting to move forward. Shows all the symptoms of safety campaign SR-16-006. Local repair shop was uncertain diagnosing ,but Tried a complete transmission fluid exchange, Which was a fail. After being reprogrammed at the dealer my 2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport started to exhibit a shudder, surge condition. Finally on March 2021 while driving on a highway the CVT started to slip and the vehicle started to exhibit a lack of acceleration untill it came to a stop in the middle lane almost causing an accident. The vehicle was scanned and codes P084A, P0776 and P0843 were present. The vehicle was taken to the dealer on a tow truck and scanned again and the same codes were present. Now the dealer is telling me that I need a new CVT transmission and that warranty was denied by Mitsubishi. It is to their knowledge that these CVT transmissions are defective and they are trying to fix them with a simple CVT ECU reprogramming and oil change as per the TSB-20-23-001, also charging the owner for the oil change. It is about time that the US Government make Mitsubishi Motors issue a mandatory recall since this is a dangerous condition that can cause a major accident on US highways. It is also time for a Class Action Suit against Mitsubishi Motors for selling a defective product and refusing to repair the vehicles.

My car has a major problem with acceleration hesitation in transmisson that has almost caused several accidents. Also whenever I ride down the road and hit the minute bump my steering jerk really bad and it happens on both sides causing me to jerk steering wheel almost run off the road several times.
My transmission doesn't go into gear right away and doesn't drive right in automatic. If I switch it to manual and only go up to 5th gear it shifts fine. There was a transmission recall for same year make and model as mine. Those recalls happened around 80,000 miles. I have 84,000. I was previously told I needed either a fuel tank or fuel injectors, never got it diagnosed. My gas gauge reads full all the time even when I dont have gas.

VEHICLE HAS DONE THIS 4 TIMES YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN IT MIGHT HAPPEN. IT HAS ONLY HAPPENED AFTER STOPPING THEN ATTEMPTING TO GO AGAIN ENGINE IS RUNNING FINE PRIOR TO AND AFTER IT GOES AGAIN. I AM ALSO EXPERIENCING VEHICLE HESITATION FROM A COMPLETE STOP OR A SLOW DOWN. I BOUGHT IT WITH ONLY 6 MILES ON IT. THE PROBLEM STARTED WITH ABOUT 500 MILES ON MY VEHICLE. IT NOW HAS 1,200 AND IS STILL DOING IT. FROM A COMPLETE STOP, IT WILL NOT ALWAYS GO WHEN THE ACCELERATOR IS PUSHED AND WHEN IT DOES GO, IT JERKS LIKE IT JUST SHIFTED INTO GEAR. THAT HAS HAPPENED THREE TIMES JUST TODAY. A COUPLE WEEKS AGO WHEN I SLOWED DOWN TO TURN RIGHT, I WAS ABLE TO MAKE THE TURN WITH MY FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR BUT AS SOON AS I TRIED TO SPEED UP, IT WOULD NOT MOVE. I HAD CARS BEHIND ME AND WAS LUCKY I DIDN'T GET REAR-ENDED. I HAD TO COAST INTO A PARKING LOT WHERE THE ACCELERATOR STARTED WORKING AGAIN. IT IS INTERMITTENT AND CANNOT BE REPRODUCED ON DEMAND, SO THE DEALER HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO HELP WITH THIS. I WAS IN TO THE DEALER YESTERDAY AND WAS TOLD THEY HOOKED IT UP TO THE COMPUTER AND TOOK IT FOR A TEST DRIVE AND EVERYTHING SEEMS FINE. THEY TOLD ME TO BRING IT BACK IN RIGHT AWAY IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN. I CALLED TODAY TO TELL THEM IT HAS HAPPENED THREE TIMES AND THEY CAN'T GET ME IN FOR OVER A WEEK TO LOOK AT IT. BY THAT TIME IT PROBABLY WON'T BE HAPPENING AGAIN. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. I'M SCARED TO DRIVE IT BUT IT'S MY ONLY VEHICLE. I HAVEN'T EVEN MADE MY FIRST PAYMENT ON IT YET. BUT OF COURSE BY THEN THE DEALER DOESN'T WANT TO TAKE THE CAR BACK. THE DEALER SEES NOTHING WRONG BUT I'M SURE WITH ALL OF US POSTING THE SAME COMMON ISSUE, THERE IS SOMETHING DEFINITELY WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION. SEVERAL INSTANCES WHERE ACCELERATION FAILED MOMENTARILY WERE FOLLOWED BY A RECALL. SEVERAL WEEKS AFTER THE ISSUE WAS 'CORRECTED", ACCELERATION FAILED TO GENERATE A SPEED PAST 30 MPH FOR A FEW MOMENTS, THEN 25 MPH, AND I BARELY MANAGED TO GET BACK AT HOME AT NO MORE THAN 20 MPH. EVERY TIME I STEPPED ON THE GAS, IT CAUSED ACCELERATION TO DECREASE UNTIL I STOPPED AND COASTED AT 20.

ON 12/13/2015 I WAS AT A ONE WAY STOP INTERSECTION AND AS I PROCEEDED TO ACCELERATE THROUGH THE INTERSECTION THE VEHICLE LOST POWER TO THE DRIVE WHEELS MOMENTARILY AND THEN REENGAGED WITH A JERK. IT FELT LIKE THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPED AND THEN GRABBED OR REENGAGED. A FEW DAYS BEFORE THIS I HAD RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE TO HAVE THE TRANSMISSION CONTROL PROGRAM REPLACED. I HAVE SINCE TAKEN THE VEHICLE IN FOR THE RECALL SERVICE AND ALSO REPORTED THE NEAR MISS DUE TO THE LOSS OF DRIVING POWER. THE RECALL SERVICE WAS PERFORMED AND THE DEALERSHIP FAILED TO REPRODUCE THE LOSS OF POWER OR IDENTIFY THE ROOT CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. SO FAR THIS FAILURE HAS ONLY HAPPENED ONCE BUT I WILL CONTINUE TO MONITOR. LOSS OF POWER WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE THROUGH AN INTERSECTION TO ME IS OF SIGNIFICANT SAFETY CONCERN AND SHOULD BE GIVEN HIGH PRIORITY BY ALL. THE VEHICLE HAD ABOUT 3,500 MILES ON IT AT THE TIME OF THE LOSS OF POWER AND IS NOW AT 4,000.

HE PROMPTLY TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP OF PURCHASE WHERE THEY TOLD HIM IT WAS A LOOSE TRANSMISSION CABLE AND FIXED IT. APPROX 1 WEEK AFTER BEING FIXED, IT BEGAN TO STUTTER AND SHAKE AGAIN, BUT THIS TIME SOUNDED LIKE LOUD BANGS AND LIKE THE CV JOINT WAS COMING APART. HE TOOK IT TO A DIFFERENT DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD THAT THE PREVIOUS TRANSMISSION CABLE FIX WAS UNSUCCESSFUL AND THAT IT WAS FIXED "CORRECTLY THIS TIME". OVER THE LAST WEEK, THE CAR IS ACTING UP AGAIN - AND IS GETTING WORSE OVER TIME. HE HAS TAKEN IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING. THEY LET IT SIT FOR SEVERAL DAYS WITHOUT LOOKING AT IT AND DAD FINALLY PICKED IT UP WITHOUT ANYTHING BEING DONE TO IT. HE WAS EVEN IN CONTACT WITH THE MITSUBISHI MANUFACTURER. I FILED A COMPLAINT WITH THE BBB AND WITH THE ATTORNEY GENERALS OFFICE - THEY CALLED ME AND GAVE ME THE PHONE NUMBER TO A LEMON LAW LAWYER WHO NOW IS HANDLING MY CASE. MY BRAND NEW CAR STILL ISN'T FIXED - I HAVE HEARD THAT THERE IS ANOTHER 2015 OUTLANDER SPORT IN FLORIDA DOING THE SAME THING.
