I have replaced the water pump, the belt, the thermostats, the rotors, the brakes, the fuel pump, the evap vent valve solenoid, the spark plugs, and fuel injectors and my car is STILL throwing the codes P-0462 and P-447. I've checked the wires and they are good. My car keeps misfiring and stalling now and my fuel pump doesn't have a fuel level sensor. The float bar is brand new as well as the fuel pump. And my dashboard speedometer is 10 miles off. I've tried everything and it's still throwing the same codes.
I started my vehicle, as usual, and when driving at a very slow speed (neighborhood speed limits) I approached a very busy intersection and the car just stopped. Not only did it stop, it would not steer and a bunch of warning lights came on the dashboard. Tav I believe, oil, check engine light. Even with the key in the acc mode, the power steering was not functioning. Everything just stopped functioning. I know this vehicle was recalled for the same exact thing back in 2008, but obviously it wasn't permanently fixed. Recall #07v-527. If I would have been in the middle of an intersection and this happened I could have been killed.
The crankshaft or camshaft sensor has went out which causes it to stall or immediately die, which is a safety hazard yes the check engine light was on
The car won't start
Last year i had the same issues with my 2003 nissan sentra gxe that i am now facing with my 2006 nissan altima. The serpentine belt comes off because of the harmonic balance and this ones ac clutch locked up and is wobbling plus my transmission acts irratic snd the starter csused the cwr to stall and catch fire! Th3 stress and agony of dpending all my savings fixing the car to end up stuck anyways and this is ongoing problems that keep reoccuring in all piece of sh** nissans and they want more money id like to file a lawsuit ! #BOYCOTT NISSAN
UNKNOWN: While driving the car will stall. After restarting it, the car will then be stuck in fifth (highest) gear. The SES (Service engine soon) light comes on. The first time this happened, after the next trip, the SES light went out. Then the same thing happened. This is a danger because if this happens in heavy traffic, it could lead to a collision.
MY VEHICLE'S CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON ONE DAY SO I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR SO THEY REPLACED IT. THEN RIGHT AFTER I LEFT MY LIGHT CAME BACK ON AND I TOOK IT TO THE MECHANIC AGAIN AND HE SAID IT WAS THE SAME CODE FOR THE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR. AFTER CHECKING IT AGAIN THE MECHANIC SAID THERE IS SOME SORT OF ELETRICAL PROBLEM THERE BECAUSE IT TELLS HIM TO"CHECK CIRCUITS" BUT EVEN AFTER MESSING AROUND WITH THE CIRCUITS MY LIGHT IS STILL ON.

THE REAR SUSPENSION HAS ALWAYS BEEN AN ISSUE. WHILE DRIVING THE WHEEL WILL SCRAPE AGAINST THE WHEEL WELL. YOU CAN'T FIT MORE THE TWO PEOPLE IN THE BACK SEAT DUE TO THIS ISSUE. THE TWO FRONT EXTERIOR HEADLIGHTS DON'T PROVIDE ADEQUATE LIGHTING TO EVEN SEE THE CAR IN FRONT OF YOU. ITS EXTREMELY LOW/DENSE LIGHTING EVEN AFTER CHANGING OUT THE BULBS. THE ELECTRICAL IGNITION SWITCH TO START THE CAR HAS ALWAYS BEEN A PROBLEM. I HAVE TO TURN THE KEY, WAIT, TURN IT AGAIN, WAIT FOR THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS TO COME ON, THEN FINALLY THE CAR WILL START. THE POWER TRAIN GEAR CONTROL IS ANOTHER WAITING GAME. TO PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE, I FIRST HAVE TO SLOWLY SHIFT THOUGH EACH GEAR BEFORE FINALLY PUTTING INTO DRIVE. ONCE I DO PUT IT INTO DRIVE THE CAR WILL SUDDENLY JOLT FORWARD BEFORE I'M ABLE TO START DRIVING THE CAR. I RECENTLY HAD THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED CAUSE IT JUST STOPPED WHILE IN MOTION AND STRUGGLED TO START UP AGAIN. IT FINALLY DID, BUT IT COULDN'T DRIVE OVER 1ST GEAR. I HAD TO TOW THE CAR HOME. ALSO, FEW YRS BACK I HAD THE HEAD GASKET REPLACED CAUSE THE CAR WOULD SHUT OFF WHILE I WAS DRIVING. IT WOULD ALSO NOT START UP AGAIN IF I HAD JUST TURNED OFF THE ENGINE. IT NEEDED TIME TO COOL OFF BEFORE RESTARTING FOR ME. AND AS OF THIS MOMENT, THE CAR IS IN THE SHOP AGAIN. THIS TIME IT NEEDS A NEW ENGINE. WHILE IT'S IDLING, IT'S MAKING A VERY LOUD CLUNKING SOUND. IT'S JUST NEVER ENDING WITH THIS CAR. I KNOW THERE WERE MANY RECALLS ON THE ENGINE, EXTERIOR LIGHTING AND REAR SUSPENSION BUT I NEVER GOT THE NOTICES.
WHEN I DRIVE THE VEHICLE, THE ENGINE LIGHT CONSTANTLY POPS ON AND OFF THE CAR CONSUMES A LARGE AMOUNT OF OIL EACH WEEK, I HAVE TO CHECK THE OIL AND KEEP A CASE OF OIL WITH THE FILTER IN MY TRUCK TO CONSTANTLY FILL IT UP. THE CAR DRAINS GAS LIKE CRAZY, AND IT'S SLOW AND DRIVING AND SLUGGISH. THE CAR HAS CUT OFF ON ME IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING WHERE I HAD TO SPEND OVER $500 TO GET IT REPAIRED.

THE SERVICE CENTER GOT IN TOUCH WITH A NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND ORDERED A NEW COMPUTER BOX. THE NEW COMPUTER DID NOT WORK EITHER! WE ARE STUCK WITH AN INOPERABLE VEHICLE. HELP!

THE CAR HAS BEEN CONSUMING MORE OIL THAN USUAL AND AFTER THE FIRST INCIDENT, THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND DOES NOT SHUT OFF. A SEARCH FOR RECALLS REVEALED IN FACT THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ISSUED, 06V-223 ON THE 2006 ALTIMA, BUT WAS NOT NOTIFIED OR THE RECALL ADDRESSED.

WHILE SLOWING, HER CAR JUST SHUT DOWN AND WOULD NOT START. SHE WAS STUCK IN THE LEFT LANE OF I-95 ON THE BRIDGE. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT KEPT COMING ON WHEN SHE TRIED TO RESTART THE CAR AND THE CAR WOULD NOT START. AAA WAS CALLED BUT THE POLICE HAD TO SHUT DOWN I-95 TO PUSH HER FROM THE LEFT LANE TO THE RIGHT HAND SHOULDER PAST THE BRIDGE. SHE WAS TOWED TO BALTIMORE AND THE VEHICLE WAS DROPPED AT A REPAIR FACILITY. THE NEXT DAY IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A BAD CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR AND REPAIRED. I RESEARCHED AND THERE IS A RECALL BY NISSAN FOR THIS VERY PROBLEM FOR OUR YEAR AND ENGINE ALTIMA. WHEN I CALLED NISSAN, THEY INDICATED OUR VEHICLE WAS NOT INVOLVED IN THE RECALL. HUH? WHILE AT A RED LIGHT, THE POWER ON MY 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA SHUT OFF WITHOUT WARNING. AFTER TRYING TO TURN OVER THE IGNITION SEVERAL TIMES, THE VEHICLE FINALLY STARTED. I DROVE IT TO ADVANCE AUTO WHERE THEY RAN A DIAGNOSTIC AND ADVISED THAT THERE WERE TWO ERROR CODES: P0725 & P0335 (ENGINE SPEED SENSOR CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION & CRANK SHAFT POSITION SENSOR CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION). UPON CALLING MY MECHANIC,HE ADVISED THAT THIS HAS BEEN A TYPICAL PROBLEM FOR THIS MODEL AND THAT HE BELIEVED THERE WAS A RECALL. AFTER REPLACING THE FUEL PUMP THEY CALLED ME BACK AND SAID IT STILL WASN'T WORKING. IT ENDED UP BEING THE ECM ALONG WITH ANOTHER SENSOR!! I EXPRESSED HOW UPSET I WAS THAT THIS SENSOR FAILED WHY I WAS DRIVING AT A HIGH SPEED ON THE HIGHWAY! THIS MAKES ME NERVOUS AND FEARFUL WHEN DRIVING THIS VEHICLE AND FINALLY AFTER THE STOPPING MULTIPLE TIMES ON THE INTERSTATE AND AT RED LIGHTS, I TOOK THE CAR IN FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND WAS ADVISED MY CRANKSHAFT SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THERE WAS A RECALL PER NISSAN AMERICA FOR THIS KNOWN ISSUE. I TOOK THE CAR IN AND WAS ADVISED MY VIN# WAS PART OF THE RECALL BUT THE DAMAGED CRANKSHAFT SENSOR WOULD NOT BE REPLACED, ONLY A RESET OF THE ECM. I WAS ADVISED THAT THE ECM WOULD NOT BE RESET DUE TO THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT IS ON DUE TO THE FAULTY CRANKSHAFT SENSOR. I WAS ALSO CHARGED FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WHICH BASICALLY CONFIRMED THE PROBLEM THAT SERVICE DEPARTMENT WAS ALREADY AWARE OF PER THE VIN#. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS REGARDING THE 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA AND A THE FAULTY CRANKSHAFT SENSOR WHICH CAN CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO STOP. I AM SCARED TO DRIVE ON THE INTERSTATE DUE TO FEAR THAT THE CAR WILL STOP AND CAUSE A PILEUP AND OR EVEN DEATH. I HAVE CONTACTED NISSAN AMERICA @1 800 647 7261 AND THEY ARE NOT COOPERATIVE. THEY ARE AWARE OF THIS ISSUE HOWEVER WILL NOT REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE CRANKSHAFT SENSOR. SINCE THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE THEN I STRONGLY FEEL THAT NISSAN SHOULD TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE PART. I NOTICED THAT MY 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA HAS A DESIGN DEFECT. WHEN YOU START UP THE ENGINE THE SPEEDOMETER CLUSTER LIGHTS UP AUTOMATICALLY, EVEN IF THE DRIVING LIGHTS ARE TURNED OFF. AT NIGHT TIME, THIS CAN LEAD THE DRIVER TO BELIEVE THAT HIS DRIVING LIGHTS ARE ON AS WELL, SINCE MOST OTHER CARS REQUIRE FOR THE LIGHTS TO BE TURNED ON, IN ORDER TO TURN ON THE ILLUMINATION ON THE SPEEDOMETER CLUSTER. SUBJECT CRANK POSITION SENSOR. SUBJECT CAR 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA 2.5. RECALL WAS RECEIVED ABOUT THE SAME TIME THE CAR STARTED DYING WHILE DRIVING. WHEN TRAVELING AT LOW SPEEDS THE ENGINE WILL DIE CAUSING A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION WHEN THE CAR LOOSES POWER AND POWER STEERING STALLING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. WHEN TRAVELING AT FREEWAY SPEEDS THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF, THE CAR LOOSES POWER FOR APPROXIMATELY 3 SECONDS THEN VIOLENTLY JERKS REGAINING POWER. NISSAN DEALER HAS STATED THAT THIS IS AN ECM PROBLEM AND THAT A REPROGRAM WILL FIX THIS PROBLEM. I TOOK THE CAR INTO THE DEALER AND THE REPROGRAM OF THE ECM WAS COMPLETED. NOW THE CAR DIES MORE FREQUENTLY AND NOW IT TAKES CONSIDERABLE CRANKING TO START THE CAR WHEN WARM. APPROXIMATELY 2 MIN. TO RESTART. NISSAN HAS TRIED TO "BAND AID" A FAULTY CRANK POSITION SENSOR WITH AN ECM REPROGRAM THAT IS NOT WORKING. THE CAR ABRUPTLY DYING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND CAN EASILY LEAD TO UNCALLED FOR INJURIES AND DEATHS STEMMING FROM THIS FAULTY SENSOR. I AGREE THAT THE UPGRADED ECM PROGRAM SHOULD READ BOTH THE CAM POSITION SENSOR AND CRANK POSITION SENSOR IN TANDEM AS A REDUNDANT FEATURE BUT IF THE PROBLEM IS WITH A LEAKY SENSOR OR A BAD SOLDER JOINT IN THE SENSOR, THE SENSOR SHOULD BE REPLACED UNDER A RECALL. *TR

I OWN A 2006 NISSAN ALTIMA. I HAVE AN AFTERMARKET GPS SYSTEM THAT I USE IN THE CAR. I HAVE NOTICED THAT THE SPEED GAUGED BY THE GPS HAS A VARIANCE FROM WHAT SHOWS ON THE SPEEDOMETER. FOR INSTANCE, IF I AM TRAVELING 40 MPH AND HAVE THE CRUISE CONTROL SET TO THAT SPEED, THE GPS SHOWS THAT I AM ACTUALLY TRAVELING 36 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A SERVICE DEALER, WHERE THE DEALER TESTED AND REPLACED THE BATTERY. THERE WAS NO DETERMINATION MADE AS TO THE CAUSE OF THE EXPLOSION.
