This is the second nissan altima iv owed an the problem eatch one iv had is that were the idler tensioner pully gose and bolts to brakes so there for you cant put the idler tensioner pully back on
There is issue with sunroof drainage tubs causing rain to soak the floor of car. This definitely malfunction or inadequate problem with drainage tubs and sunroof parts with Nissans. I took it to the dealership and car collision repair shop and was told this is high reoccurring issue with Nissan sunroofs, but no recalls have been given, and I have to pay out pocket to get fixed. At 1st was told just get the drains cleaned out and you shouldn't have that problem again. The issue has progressed and now I have paid for drains to get unclogged 2x so far in one year and keep happening every time its alot of rain at one time. My only option I'm told is to keep getting drains cleaned and unclogged pay out of pocket or get another car without sunroof. I have gotten this done 2 years in row, that's getting too expensive to pay. That's not fair when you know it's problem with these drains and don't do nothing to fix issues. I like cars with sunroofs and have no control over when it rains. I should be able to have a car in 2025 with sunroof and not have this problem. Please help with this issue with factory sunroofs made in original cars not added. Make better drainage system for sunroofs in Nissan and all cars.
I have complained to Nissan that the dash in the car is literally melting. It started around 2014 when I noticed it was having a sticky texture and because of this it creates a glare in the windshield that makes it hard to see. Over the years it has only gotten worse and the dash is literally crumbling. I read online where they have had this issue before. I have tried to get help locally but I am lost no one will help me. This is a really bad safety issue!
Unknown. My car is making a whining noise & no matter how much i push the gas pedal it won’t accelerate. Sometimes it works but mostly it won’t.
It started about 2 months ago that the RPM was revving when it came to the gears shifting. I would accelerate and the car would barely move and the transmission was making a whirring sound. The Service Engine Soon light came on so I took my car to O Reilys and the code for the stepper motor came back. I had the stepper motor replaced in my transmission but I am having the same issue. My Mechanic told me that my Transmission is failing and I would need a brand new one.
REAR SUB FRAME IS RUSTED OUT AND WILL NOT PASS STATE INSPECTION. YES IT IS AVAILABE FOR INSPECTION. FRAME COULD BREAK AT ANY TIME AND CAUSE A ACCIDENT .
I was on my way to work driving on the freeway and suddenly I felt a sort of shaking from the car. I then exited the freeway and approached a red light. When the light turned green, my car moved some but then was stalled so I was stuck in the middle of an intersection. Luckily, I wasn’t too far from my job and I was able to eventually ease my way the next few miles. I was later told by a mechanic that it was my transmission that needed to be replaced .
Dash is melting- it is causes an extreme shine reflecting on the windshield and extremely sticky. In the sun, full sun or a cloudy day, it causes a large glare in the direct line of sight. It is very unsafe to drive. It spans the entire dash. There is no escaping the glare during the day.
My car is a 2011 Nissan Altima 2.5 s model. In the last couple of years, my dash board has cracks all over it. My research found out that is an issue also with Lexus and Toyota. I called back Nissan and was told by a supervisor that they will not be helping me with this. Thus the cause of this complaint.

DASH HAS MELTED TO THE POINT WHERE THE GLARE MAKES DRIVING CHALLENGING.
WE MOVED FROM ILLINOIS TO FLORIDA IN 2014, AFTER LIVING IN FLORIDA FOR 2 YEARS THE DASH BOARD IN THE NISSAN BECAME SHINY AND STICKY, LIKE IT IS MELTING. AFTER CONTACTING NISSAN ABOUT THE PROBLEM, THEY MENTIONED THAT THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND THERE IS NO RECALL ON THE DASH BOARD. WE FEEL THIS SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO FOR A RECALL DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE SHINY REFLECTION OF THE MELTED DASHBOARD IS CAUSING POOR VISIBILITY THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD DUE TO THE REFLECTION FROM THE SUN. THIS FEELS LIKE A BIG SAFETY ISSUE BECAUSE THIS REFLECTION CAUSES LARGE AREAS OF BLIND SPOTS ACROSS THE WINDSHIELD. NISSAN SHOULD TAKE RESPONSIBILITY LIKE MAZDA, TOYOTA, AND LEXUS HAVE AND REPLACE THE DASHBOARD UNDER RECALL.

I REPLACED ALL FOUR ORIGINAL TIRES ON CAR IN 1/2015. VEHICLE HAD 43K MILES ON; TIRES HAD ALWAYS BEEN ROTATED AND PROPERLY INFLATED TO 32 PSI. DURING THE NEXT MONTHS, I NOTICED INCREASING NOISE AS THE CAR ACCELERATED AND DECELERATED. I TRIED TO DETERMINE THE SOURCE OF THE RYTHMIC THUMPING NOISE BUT WAS UNABLE. I HAD TIRES INSPECTED AND NO PROBLEMS COULD BE FOUND WITH APPROXIMATELY 9,000 MILES ON THE TIRES. I NOTICED INCREASING RHYTHMIC NOISE BUT COULD NOT LOCATE WHICH TIRE WAS THE SOURCE. WE HAD A FLAT TIRE FROM A ROOFING NAIL IN THE RR WHICH REQUIRED THE TIRE TO BE REPLACED. REPLACED TIRE WITH ANOTHER GOODYEAR ASSURANCE. WITH THIS NEW TIRE ON THE RR, I WAS ABLE TO LOCATE THE ROAD RUMBLE TO THE RIGHT FRONT, SO I HAD THAT TIRE REPLACED WITH ANOTHER GOODYEAR ASSURANCE. NOISE SEEMED TO GO AWAY. AS MY WIFE IS THE PRINCIPLE DRIVER OF THIS CAR, I THOUGHT THE PROBLEM HAD BEEN SOLVED WITH THE TWO NEW TIRES (AS ONE HAD BEEN FAILING). ON A 500 MILE TRIP, I NOTICED THAT THE ROAD NOISE (LOW RUMBLE DIRECTLY ASSOCIATED WITH TIRE SPEED, ESPECIALLY AT LOW SPEEDS). I NOW REALIZE THAT THE ROAD NOISE MUST BE COMING FROM ONE/OR BOTH OF THE ORIGINAL TIRES THAT WERE PLACED ON THE CAR IN 2017. ON CLOSE INSPECTION OF THESE TWO TIRES, I HAVE NOTICED MULTIPLE AREAS OF A FINE SPLITTING APPROXIMATELY 1 INCH DOWN THE SIDE OF THE SIDE WALL ON BOTH OF THESE TIRES WHICH MAY BE INDICATIVE OF TREAD SEPARATION. I AM TO THE POINT WHERE I FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE TAKING THIS CAR ON THE HIGHWAY. I HAVE ASKED THREE DIFFERENT DEALERS ABOUT THIS AND I GET MANY ASSORTED ANSWERS, BUT THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT THESE TIRES MAKE A RUMBLING NOISE DIRECTLY RELATED TO TIRE SPEED AND SHOW SIGNS OF SIDEWALL CRACKING. I DON'T WANT TO GET TO THE POINT OF AN ENDANGERING BLOWOUT AND AM CONSIDERING REPLACING ALL 4 TIRES IN THE NEAR FUTURE. THIS CAR IS DRIVEN MOSTLY ON LOCAL CITY STREET AND VERY INFREQUENTLY ON HIGHWAYS.

1) WHEN ACCELERATING FROM S STOP, MY CAR WILL JERK (LIKE THE TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING). IT WILL OFTEN JERK WHILE MY CAR IS IN MOTION AS WELL. THIS HAPPENS ON CITY STREETS & FREEWAYS/HIGHWAYS. 2) THERE IS ALSO AN ISSUE WITH THE "HOOD LATCH" NOT LOCKING COMPLETELY. IT SOMETIMES LOOKS LIKE THE HOOD IS GOING TO POP OPEN WHEN DRIVING .

MAY I PREFACE MY STATEMENTS WITH THE FACT THAT I OWNED A 2005, 2009 AND 2011 NISSAN ALTIMA AND WHILE I TRADED MY LAST ONE IN FOR A DIFFERENT MAKE, I HAD VERY MUCH ENJOYED THE VEHICLE UNTIL I FOUND OUT THERE WAS A DANGEROUS FLAW IN THE ALTIMA AND, I WAS TOLD BY NISSAN, THE MAXIMA.IN MY 2011 ALTIMA, A SERIOUS PANIC STOP, LOCKING UP THE BRAKES, CAUSED MY VEHICLE TO NOT MOVE FOR 3-5 SECONDS. THIS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES AND I HAD MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP LOOK AT THE VEHICLE EACH TIME AND EACH TIME I WAS TOLD THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR BUT IT REOCCURRED .AFTER RESPONSES FROM THE DEALERSHIP WENT NOWHERE, I CALLED THE MAIN NISSAN CUSTOMER SERVICE LINE AND WAS TOLD THAT THE PROBLEM WAS IN THE TRANSMISSION OF BOTH VEHICLES. THE SPECIAL SEAMLESS TRANSMISSION WILL CAUSE A 3-5 SECOND DELAY AFTER A PANIC STOP BUT IT WAS NORMAL FOR THAT TYPE OF TRANSMISSION. WHEN I ASKED WHAT TO DO IF THAT OCCURRED ON A FREEWAY WITH A TRUCK BARRELING DOWN ON ME THEY HAD NO ANSWER.NOT SATISFIED WITH THAT RESPONSE I CALLED A LOCAL RADIO AUTO TALK SHOW AND WAS REFERRED TO A LOCAL AUTO SHOP AS HE HAD NEVER HEARD OF THAT SPECIFIC PROBLEM. THE LOCAL AUTO SHOP CHECKED THE VEHICLE AND ALSO SAID THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR BUT WHEN I TOOK THE OWNER OF THE SHOP OUT HE EXPERIENCED IT.HIS RESPONSE WAS THAT THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME HE HAD HEARD AND EXPERIENCED IT BUT UNLESS THERE WERE A LOT OF COMPLAINTS FOR THAT SPECIFIC PROBLEM NOTHING WOULD HAPPEN.I NOW THROW OUT THIS ISSUE TO YOU. I TOOK MY CAR TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP EXPLAIN THE PROBLEM MY CAR WAS DOING AND THE GUY THAT WAS GOING TO DO MY PAPERWORK AUTOMATICALLY SAID IT'S YOUR TRANSMISSION. HE TOLD ME TO LEAVE MY CAR AND THEY WERE GOING TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. I LEFT MY CAR FOR ALMOST A WEEK. IN THAT TIME I WAS WAITING I CALLED LIKE 3-4 TIMES TO ASK ABOUT MY CAR THE ONLY ANSWER I GOT FROM THE WAS WE'LL CALL YOU BACK IN A FEW AND NEVER CALLED ME . I STRUGGLED TO GET ON TIME TO WORK AND TO MY COLLEGE CLASSES SINCE I HAD TO TAKE PUBLIC TRANSPORATION. I FINALLY WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP TO CHECK UP ON MY CAR AND THEY DIDN'T DO ANYTHING TO MY CAR. MY CAR IS STILL UNDER THE 60,000 MILE WARRANTY WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AND THE DEALERSHIP WONT DO ANY THING ABOUT MY CAR.

KEYLESS START- I LEFT THE VEHICLE WITH THE KEY FOB, THE CAR WAS DRIVEN APPROX. 2 MILES AWAY WITHOUT THE KEY. WHEN THE PERSON DRIVING REALIZED THIS, THEY DIDN'T TURN THE CAR OFF AND CAME BACK. THE CAR NEVER SHUT DOWN, BUT DID START TO SHUTTER A BIT.

MY WIFE WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY WHEN SHE HEARD A NOISE AND SMELLED SOMETHING BURNING. SHE PULLED OVER AND GOT OUT THE CAR. A FEW MINUTES LATER THE CAR WAS ON FIRE AND BURNED TO THE GROUND. *JS
