Front end suspension need replacing confirmed by Nissan Dealership when rear suspension recall was done. Loud noise when in reverse or backing out with or without acceleration, transmission mount defect.

Sometimes when I'm driving the car starts idling as if I'm going fast that's how it sounds and I'm making a turn and it's sounds like it's accelerated but it won't go as much as I step on the gas it will not go so I got to pull over to the side wait for a little bit turn off the car and let it sit and then I'll go back tomorrow and it's every time this light turns on the dashboard with a car with the swively lines

Passenger airbag safety light does not light up as it should, shows passenger isn't wearing seat belt when they are. Airbag might not deploy under these conditions. There was a recall for this, took to dealership, was not corrected. Transmission stalls and studders, will not accelerate due to faulty CVT. Causes near miss accidents. Shift lock occasionally prevents car from changing from park, reverse, drive.

I feel like my 2013 Nissan Altima 2.5 SL sedan is/was Part of the Transmission Recall. I purchased my vehicle in 2017/2018… Since then I already replaced all the solenoids in 2020 for the transmission and it drove fine for 2 years. Then in October/November of 2023 the transmission code P0776 came on and it was taken to a Nissan dealership in Maine and was informed that the whole transmission was no good and needed to be replaced. I since bought a new Nissan Altima transmission that was never used before so, the transmission has 0 miles on it and had my personal mechanic place it in and now in early 2024 the transmission went from Driving 65mph on the highway and suddenly dropped to 30mph still on highway with no dashboard light notice at all… so now I have a vehicle that is broken and I don’t know what to do next!!! Please advise. I was wondering if my Vin# was one that had the original Recall and was taken care of anlready before I bought it? And if I can get any help with this new transmission that is now no good?

Steady Check Engine light came on April 25, 2023. Just had oil change/filter done day before. Had tune-up done May 25, 2023. Had mechanic who replaced my catalytic converter and (2) O2 sensors a year ago check my car. Found that the inside of the catalytic converter was melted. They checked for a fuel leak in engine, none found. Replaced catalytic converter and front O2 sensor. As of today, no Steady Check Engine light has come back on. I think a Flashing Check Engine light should have displayed for something as serious as a fuel leak. What if my car caught fire while driving? Also, I was told several years ago by a local Nissan dealer that my driver side airbag would need replacing - that indicator light never came back on the dash board either. Faulty sensors? I notified Nissan in TN by mail.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed that unknown frontal air bag had deployed under the hood and burned; however, the mechanic could not repair the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to another mechanic who informed the contact that they could not repair the vehicle. An unknown dealer was contacted but provided no assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 109,000.

The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was serviced by the dealer in 2016, for a recall repair for the mass airflow sensor however, the failure recurred. The contact had her nephew replace the mass airflow sensor on three separate occasions. The mass airflow sensor was also replaced once by an independent mechanic. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that recall repair was only performed one time free of charge. The failure mileage was 108,000.

The original transmission on this car failed and I had it replaced at a Nissan Dealership. In less than two years, the new transmission also failed. I was driving on the highway and transmission gave up and the vehicle would not accelerate putting my Life and others' life in danger/unsafe. I contacted Nissan consumer/customer service and the case manager was not helpful and literally, stonewalled my concerns. Gross negligence by Nissan about the vehicle owners and their safety. The Nissan Altima cars that were manufactured between 2013-2015 are pure LEMONS.

Car stalled on highway in 1st lane. Car jerking, stalling, not starting. Found recall on cvt transmissions on car. Nissan consumer affairs refuse to honor recall. States recall closed. Car not drivable. Being fixed at Firestone repair. Begged Nissan consumer affairs because of my safety to please fix. Spoke with 2 managers who would not honor closed past campaign!!! Told them I am a 60 yr old woman now to scarred to drive car. Had no choice but to have it fixed which I cannot afford.

WHEN PUSHING THE GAS ON THE HIGHWAY OR THE STREETS IT FEELS LIKE THE POWER OF THE CAR IS HOLDING BACK. FEELS LIKE THE GEARS ARE MESSING UP. AND THERE'S PROBLEM WITH CATALYST CONVERTER. IT'S ALWAYS SHOWING CHECK ENGINE LIGHT EVEN AFTER I HAVE TRIED OTHER SOLUTIONS ON FIXING THAT AND THE GAS ODOMETER IS NOT READING THE GAS LEVELS RIGHT EITHER. PLUS THE PASSENGER SEAT BUCKLE IS STUCK AND DOESN'T LATCH TO THE SEAT BELT FOR A HOLD FROM A CAR ACCIDENT. LIKE YOU HAVE TO REALLY PUSH HARD FOR THE SEAT BELT TO HOLD ON.

COMPLETE TRANSMISSION FAILURE AT NEARLY 122,000 MILES IN THE MIDDLE OF A MAJOR INTERSTATE WHEREIN THE VEHICLE COULD NOT TURN BACK ON. PRIOR TO THE FAILURE, THERE WERE WEEKS OF JERKY SHIFTING, THE CAR WAS UNABLE TO COAST, QUICKLY ACCELERATE, OR COME TO A STOP WITHOUT JERKING THE CAR UNTIL STOPPED. NO CONNECTION BETWEEN MULTIPLE CODES - RANDOM ASSORTMENT. VEHICLE FAILS EMISSIONS TEST DUE TO THESE ERRORS. SHOP NOW STATES THEY HAVE FOUND TBS ON THIS PROBLEM THROUGH NISSAN & THERE IS A PART REQUIRING A SWAP OUT. MY VEHICLE HAS EXPERIENCED THIS ISSUE FOR 6+ MONTHS. THE VEHICLE WILL NOT START AFTER WARM UP/DRIVING FOR A WHILE AND THEN TURNED OFF. IT WILL CONTINUOUSLY RUN IF ENGINE DOES NOT GET TURNED OFF. TOOK IT TO NISSAN DEALER FOR DIAG AND THEY SAID THAT IS WAS THE FUEL INJECTORS, SO WE REPLACED THEM ON THEIR ADVICE - BUT THAT DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. THIS IS ISSUE STARTED RECENTLY. THIS IS A WELL KEPT AND MAINTAINED 2013 ALTIMA WITH THE QR25DE 4 CYL ENGINE AND ONLY ~ 92,NNN MILES.

MY 2013 ALTIMA TRANSMISSION HAS ALWAYS BEEN VIBRATING TOO HEAVILY, BETWEEN 1500-2500 RPM IN COLD AND EXTEREMELY HOT WEATHER SITUATIONS, EVER SINCE I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE (SINCE FEB, 2014). NOW THE TRANSMISSION COMPLETELY FAILED AND THEY ARE ASKING 4K TO REPLACE IT.

I BOUGHT A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA IN 2017. 4 MONTHS AFTER THE PURCHASE WITH ONLY 65,000 MILES THE CAR STALLED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY WITH MY CHILDREN IN IT. I WAS ABLE TO GET IT RESTARTED AND THE NEXT DAY WHILE WORKING THE TRANSMISSION GAVE OUT IN THE MIDDLE OF A PARKING LOT. THE CVT TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED AT THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP. NOW 65,000 MILES LATER THE NEW CVT TRANSMISSION DIED WHILE I HAD A YOUTH CLIENT IN MY CAR FOR WORK. THIS IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE FOR A TRANSMISSION TO FAIL AT THE DROP OF A HAT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. THERE IS CURRENTLY A CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST NISSAN DUE TO THIS ISSUE. THIS IS EFFECTING MY WORK AND IS NOT A RELIABLE CAR. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED. ALSO THE AIR COMPRESSOR IS AN ISSUE AS WELL. THIS ALSO NEEDS RECALLED. THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE WHO ARE EXPERIENCING THESE ISSUES. WHAT IF THE CAR WOULD STOP IN THE MIDDLE OF A ROAD AND SOMEONE WOULD HIT ME WHILE I AM WITH MY CHILDREN OR A CLIENT? THIS NEEDS TO BE LOOKED INTO PLEASE. BECAUSE NISSAN IS REFUSING TO HELP ME AT ALL FOR THIS SECOND TRANSMISSION THAT IS ONLY 2 YEARS OLD!!!!

I WAS TURNING RIGHT TO PARK MY 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA AND I PUSHED ON THE BRAKE TO SLOW DOWN THE CAR TO STOP AND THE CAR SUDDENLY ACCELERATED AND JUMPED OVER THE CONCRETE CURB STOP. IT CONTINUED TO RUN UPSLOPE TO THE BUSHES AND OVER THREE BIG ROCKS WHILE I WAS TRYING TO AVOID HITTING THE FENCE IN THE FRONT AND BRAKING IT. I CONTINUED TO PRESS ON THE BRAKE AND THE CAR CONTINUED TO DRIVE FORWARD AND I KEPT TURNING THE WHEEL TO THE RIGHT TO AVOID A FENCE. THE CAR RAN OVER THE CURB STOP OF ANOTHER PARKING SPACE ABOUT FIVE SPACES ON THE RIGHT. THE BOLT IN THE CONCRETE STOP PUNCTURED MY OIL PAN AND THE ROCKS RIBBED OFF THE PLASTIC SHIELDS UNDERNEATH. I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO STOP THE CAR BY PUMPING THE BRAKE AND WIND UP IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. I CHECKED MY FOOT WAS STILL ON THE BRAKE. MY CAR HAD APPROXIMATELY 43000 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. THIS HAPPENED AT THE PARKING LOT OF BERTELSON MEMORIAL PARK IN EL DORADO HILLS IN CALIFORNIA. WE BELIEVED THAT THERE WAS A COMPUTER FAILURE THAT CAUSED THE ACCELERATION OF THE CAR WHILE I WAS TURNING RIGHT AND BRAKING AND TRIED TO PARK. ACCORDING TO ONE OF THE EXPERT, AN ELECTRICAL ENGINEER WHO HAS STUDIED SUDDEN ACCELERATION IN CARS FOR OVER 20 YEARS, STATED THAT "IF YOU'RE TURNING INTO A PARKING SPACE, YOU HAVE A LOT OF STRESS ON THE FRONT DRIVE SYSTEM, SINCE EVERYTHING IS BASED ON RUNNING THROUGH THE COMPUTER, INCLUDING SENSORS ON YOUR DRIVE SYSTEMS, ANY ONE OF THOSE COULD CARRY ONTO THE SYSTEM, CARRY ON TO THE ON-BOARD COMPUTER AND ATTACK IT." WE FELT VERY UNFAIR TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS FOR THE DEFECTIVE PRODUCT.

RECENTLY LESS THAN YEAR AGO, THEY REPLACED FEW THINGS WHICH WAS UNDER POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. NOW I HAVE 63K AND OUT OF WARRANTY. THE TOTAL COST IS ABOUT $1300.00. HOW CAN SUCH A REPUTED BRAND CAR HAVE SO MANY TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS WITHIN A YEAR? THIS IS MY FIRST AND LAST NISSAN.

I IMMEDIATELY CALLED DEALERSHIP AND ASKED TO HAVE A TECH DRIVE THE CAR TO EXPLAIN THE PROBLEM. THE TECH GOT IN, RODE OFF, CAME BACK AND SAID IT WAS ALL RUNNING FINE. I ACCEPTED THAT AND ASSUMED IT WAS ONLY A MOMENTARY PROBLEM. I GOT BACK IN MY CAR AND IT WAS STILL DOING IT. I CAME BACK AND ASKED THE TECH TO RIDE WITH ME. IT DID IT WITH HIM IN THE CAR AND HE TOLD ME THAT THE CAR HAD TO "ADAPT TO MY DRIVING STYLE." 2018, AT 48,000 MILES THE CAR STARTED TO STALL ON ME WHEN IT WAS IDLE. IT WOULD START RIGHT BACK UP, BUT TURN OFF WHEN I PUT IT BACK IN DRIVE. TOOK IT BACK TO THE NISSAN OF COOL SPRINGS DEALERSHIP BUT THEY DID NOT FIND ANY ERROR CODE AND TOLD ME EVERYTHING IS WORKING FINE AND CHARGED ME AROUND $160. I ALSO TOLD THEM THIS HAS HAPPENED WITH IN THE PAST 2-3 TIME. BUT AT THAT TIME I WAS NOT AWARE OF THE CVT ISSUES. RECENTLY IT HAPPENED WHEN I STOPPED FOR REFUELLING MY CAR. I WAS FORTUNATE ENOUGH THAT IT DID NOT HAPPEN ON THE HIGHWAYS.

CAR SAT FOR A WEEK AND THEN STARTED RIGHT UP AND DROVE FINE. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNED OFF. CAR STARTED STALLING AGAIN ONLY WHEN I PUT IT INTO DRIVE OR REVERSE, AND AS LONG AS I PUT IT INTO NEUTRAL AND GAVE IT GAS, THEN THREW IT INTO DRIVE I WOULD BE ABLE TO DRIVE IT. STILL NO LIGHT ON. CAR DROVE SEMI GOOD FOR A WEEK OR SO, SEEMED TO RUN A LITTLE ROUGH BUT DIDN'T STALL OUT. A FEW DAYS AGO IT STARTED TO NOT TAKE GAS AND REV UP ON ITS OWN. I WOULD START TO GO AND THE CAR WOULD ACCELERATE BY ITSELF. WHEN I WAS ON HIGHWAY, OR REGULAR ROADS. USUALLY UNDER 50 MILES AN HOUR. TACHOMETER WOULD REV EVEN THOUGH CAR DIDN'T SEEM TO GO ANY FASTER. THEN IT JUST STOPPED TAKING GAS ALL TOGETHER. NOW TODAY IT JUST STOPPED GOING. I WOULD GIVE IT GAS AND IT WOULDN'T GO ANYWHERE. I SHUT OFF AND TURNED ON AND IT WOULD GO FOR A LITTLE AND THEN STOP. NOW CHECK ENGINE LITE CAME ON AND THE FIRST CODE P0776 IS FOR A BULLETIN THAT WENT OUT AND THE THE OTHER CODE IS FOR P0965. PICTURES ARE ATTACHED. I HAVE BEEN AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR, WORRIED THAT I WILL GET INTO A CRASH. I GOOGLED THE PROBLEM AND SAW THAT A LOT OF OTHER PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SIMILAR PROBLEMS. THE MILEAGE IS AT 77,000. I PUT THE CAR IN PARK APPLIED MY FOOT TO THE BREAK AND RESTARTED THE CAR. EVERY TIME I WOULD DRIVE TO PUT THE CAR IN GEAR IT WOULD CUT OFF. IT KEPT DOING THIS OVER AND OVER. LOCAL POLICE CAME AND WITH THE HELP OF A GOOD SAMARITAN PUSHED MY CAR OFF THE ROAD TO A SAFE PLACE. I HAD TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND SAID THAT THE DIAGNOSTIC COMPUTER TEST DID NOT SHOW ANY CODES FOR THE PROBLEM. THEY ENDED UP UPDATING THE TRANSMISSION MODULE AND SAID THEY HOPED THIS WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM CONTINUES TO OCCUR AND I HAVE HAD TO AVOID STOPPING AT LIGHTS DUE TO THE CAR WANTING TO CUT OFF. THIS SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM THAT OTHER NISSAN CAR OWNERS ARE ALSO FACING. I BOUGHT MY CAR BRAND NEW WITH ONLY 113 MILES ON IT. I HAVE SENSE PUT 160K HIGHWAY MILES ON IT BUT HAVE HAD NO ISSUES UNTIL NOW BECAUSE I GET IT SERVICED REGULARLY. I WAS DRIVING TO WORK LAST WEEK AND AT 30-45 MPH THE RPMS STARTED JUMPING BETWEEN 1K AND 2K. ONCE I GOT PAST 60 MPH THIS STOPPED BUT EVENTUALLY MY CAR WOULD STUTTER AND STALL AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS MAKING IT DANGEROUS IF TURNING IN FRONT OF TRAFFIC OR COMING THROUGH INTERSECTIONS. I TOOK IT IN IMMEDIATELY FOR DIAGNOSTICS AND WAS TOLD I NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION AND SINCE MY WARRANTY WAS OUT I WOULD NEED TO PAY $4500 OUT OF POCKET. I GOT A SECOND OPINION AND I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP I SERVICE IT AT THAT IT WAS MY FAULT BECAUSE I DIDN'T HAVE THE TRANSMISSION FLUSHED WHEN THEY TOLD ME TO, YET THERE IS NOTHING IN THE OWNERS MANUAL STATING THIS IS A REQUIREMENT, ONLY A RECOMMENDATION BY THE DEALER. AS SHADY AS DEALERSHIPS ARE THESE DAYS OF COURSE I DIDN'T HAVE IT DONE BECAUSE I ASSUMED THEY WERE CHARGING ME FOR SOMETHING UNNECESSARILY. I SPOKE WITH A MECHANIC FRIEND OF MINE AND HE SAID THE TRANSMISSION FLUSH WOULD HAVE DONE NOTHING TO PREVENT MY TRANSMISSION FAIL. WHAT IS EVEN WORSE IS THAT NO WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON AND MY DASH LOOKED THE SAME AS IT ALWAYS DOES, THE ONLY LIGHTS THAT CAME ON WERE MY BATTERY AND BRAKE LIGHTS WHEN MY CAR SHUT OFF AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT, BUT IT STARTED RIGHT BACK UP AFTER THAT. I HAVE ASKED FOR ASSISTANCE FROM NISSAN AND HAVE BEEN DENIED EVEN THOUGH I HAVE SERVICED MY CAR WITH THE DEALER EVEN AFTER MY WARRANTY EXPIRED. THERE ARE 4 OTHER PEOPLE IN MY FAMILY THAT OWN NISSANS BUT APPARENTLY THAT MEANS NOTHING TO THIS COMPANY. SOMETIMES IT TAKES MULTIPLE TRIES TO EVEN GET IT STARTED. THE INTERIOR DOOR HANDLES ON THE BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE BROKE AND HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE AIR BAG SENSORS HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE HOOD LATCH HAD TO BE REPLACED. AND THE BACK BRAKES HAVE BEEN CHANGED THREE TIMES AND IT S STILL HAS A AWFUL LENGTHY SQUEAK WHICH IS VERY EMBARRASSING. SO SAY THE LEAST THIS IS VERY DISAPPOINTING CONSIDERING I'M STILL PAYING OVER THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS A MONTH FOR A CAR NOT AND STILL HAVE TO COME OUT OF POCKET FOR REPAIRS THAT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY SUPPOSEDLY DOES NOT COVER. AS I WAS DRIVING MY 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA WITH 35K MILES ON IT, I CAME TO A STOPLIGHT AT A BUSY INTERSECTION AND MY CAR CUT OFF COMPLETELY WITHOUT ANY INDICATION THAT SOMETHING WAS WRONG. I HAD MY CAR TOWED TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP, AND THEY STATED THEY COULD NOT FIND THE ISSUE BUT REPROGRAMMED MY CVT SINCE THERE WAS A RECALL ISSUED FOR MY CAR. THEY DETERMINED THAT AFTER DRIVING IT FOR 25 MINUTES THAT DAY AND 25 MINUTES THE NEXT THAT THE CVT REPROGRAMMING COULD HAVE BEEN THE SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM BUT TO RETURN IT TO THE DEALER IF IT HAPPENED AGAIN. 3 DAYS LATER MY CAR BEGAN SHAKING AND STALLING VERY ROUGHLY WHILE IN MOTION AND AGAIN CUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WHILE IN DRIVE. THIS TIME MY YOUNG SON WAS IN THE CAR WITH ME, AND HIM AND I COULD HAVE BOTH BEEN HARMED OR CAUSED AN ACCIDENT AND HARMED SOMEONE ELSE. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE THAT NISSAN HAS NOT RECALLED THESE VEHICLES OR THE CAR HAS BEEN RETURNED TO CUSTOMERS WITHOUT A SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM.

ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!?! I HAVE A 10.5 MONTH OLD AND IT IS 100 DEGREES OUTSIDE!!! ANOTHER HUGE SAFETY ISSUE) AND NOW THERE IS ANOTHER NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE AT ALL SPEEDS, A GRINDING NOISE. I PURCHASED MY 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA (44K MILES) IN MAY 2015. I HAD NO ISSUES WITH THIS VEHICLE UNTIL I REACHED THE 50K MILE MARK IN JANUARY 2016. THE FIRST ISSUE STARTED WHEN THE VEHICLE WOULD PUSH REALLY HARD DRIVING UP A HILL. THE NEXT ISSUE HAPPENED ON 5/2/16 WHEN I PLACED THE VEHICLE IN 'DRIVE' AND IT WENT FORWARD FOR A FEW SECONDS AND IT COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. TO BE CLEAR, IT WAS NOT THE BATTERY. EVERYTHING WORKED IN THE CAR EXCEPT ITS ABILITY TO ACTUALLY DRIVE. I TOOK IT TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THEY KEPT THE VEHICLE FOR ABOUT 2 DAYS FOR INSPECTION. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY COULDN'T FIND A THING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE; NO ERROR CODES OR DRIVING ISSUES WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS WITH THEM. I HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO TAKE BACK MY VEHICLE AND HOPE FOR THE BEST. HOWEVER, ON MAY 21, 2016, THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF AGAIN. I WAS ALMOST REAR-ENDED BECAUSE IT SHUT OFF WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. I SAT IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY STREET FOR 20 MINS BEFORE THE VEHICLE DECIDED TO DRIVE AGAIN. I'M ALMOST SURE THAT IT IS THE CVT TRANSMISSION. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM AND IT SEEMS AS IF I'M NOT THE ONLY NISSAN OWNER WITH THIS PROBLEM. THE CVT TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO "GO OUT" AT THE 50K MILE MARK. I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE THAT THIS VEHICLE CAN SHUT OFF WHILE IN USE AND THERE IS NO CODE OR TRAIL AS TO WHY. THE MOST DANGEROUS PART OF THIS EXPERIENCE IS THAT THE CAR SHUTS OFF WHILE IT IS BEING ACTIVELY DRIVEN. I USE THE FREEWAY TWICE A WEEK AND THERE WOULD LIFE-THREATENING EFFECTS IF THE VEHICLE SHUT OFF IN THAT TYPE OF TRAFFIC (65-75 MPH). I HAVE NEVER HAD A VEHICLE THAT COMPLETELY SHUT OFF AND A CERTIFIED MECHANIC COULD NOT TELL YOU WHY. AS I PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED, I'M SURE IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE TRANSMISSION BECAUSE THE VEHICLE'S DRIVING CAPABILITIES ARE AFFECTED. THERE'S NO TELLING WHAT OTHER PARTS ARE BEING AFFECTED BY THIS ISSUE.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,525. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

CAR RANDOMLY SHUTS OFF IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC AFTER DRIVING OVER 20 MILES. CAR HAS BEEN TOWED TO LOCAL DEALERSHIP TWICE, HOWEVER, THE DEALER IS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE. CAR SHAKES, SHUDDERS, CUTS OFF. CAR WILL RESTART BUT GAS HAS TO PRESSED EXCESSIVELY HARD FOR ENGINE TO TURN OVER, CAR CONTINUE TO JERK WHILE RESTARTING. LOCAL DEALERSHIP HAS HAD MY CAR FOR 30 DAYS! I WAS TOLD THAT NISSAN AMERICA WAS CONTACTED FOR DIRECTION, CAR MAY REQUIRE SOFTWARE UPGRADE AND/OR NEW TRANSMISSION. WHICH IS SPECULATION! THE SERVICE ADVISOR WAS TOLD BY THE MECHANIC THAT THEY ARE NOT 100% THAT THIS SOLUTION WILL FIX THE PROBLEM. SINCE THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE NO REPAIRS HAVE BEEN MADE. I HAVE SEEN SEVERAL COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME ISSUE ON THE 2013 AND PRIOR YEAR MODELS. I WILL ALSO FILE ANOTHER FORMAL COMPLIANT WITH NISSAN AMERICA. THIS CAR IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AS IT RANDOMLY SHUTS OFF WITHOUT WARNING OTHER THAN THE VIOLENT SHAKING AND SHUDDER IMMEDIATELY BEFORE THE CAR SHUTS OFF! THUS FAR THE CAR CUTS OFF WHEN STATIONARY, IF THE GAS IS PRESSED BEFORE THE CAR CUTS OFF COMPLETELY THE CAR WILL SELF CORRECT AND NOT SHUT OFF. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE IN 6 MONTHS ON A CITY STREET, THIS CAR HAS A LITTLE OVER 60K MILES.

I HAVE A 2013 ALTIMA THAT SHUDDERS/HESITATE/VIBRATES INTERMITTENTLY UPON ACCELERATION. I HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TWICE. UPON PICKING UP MY CAR, I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE ISSUE COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. THE PROBLEM STARTED AT APPROXIMATELY 25,000 MILES. I AM KNOW AT 54,000 MILES AND FEAR THAT THE WARRANTY WILL BE UP BEFORE A SOLUTION IS FOUND. THE SHUDDERING/VIBRATION/HESITANCY CAN HAPPEN ANYWHERE. I HAVE RESEARCHED THE ISSUE ONLINE AND FOUND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS, HOWEVER, NO RECALLS.. WHILE DRIVING AT SLOW SPEEDS THE CAR BEGINS TO LURCH AND THEN STALLS. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES IN THE PAST TWO DAYS. IN ADDITION, WHEN YOU STOP AT A REDLIGHT AND THEN START TO GO AT THE GREEN LIGHT THE CAR STALLS. THIS HAPPENED LAST NIGHT AND WE WERE ALMOST HIT BY THE CAR BEHIND US. THE CAR STALLED AT THE LIGHT SO WE HAD TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK, THEN PUT YOUR FOOT ON THE BRAKE TO START THE CAR, AND THEN PUT IN DRIVE. THE CAR LUNGED FORWARD BUT STALLED AGAIN IN THE MIDDLE OF A INTERSECTION. WE REPEATED THE START UP PROCESS AND THE CAR DROVE HOME. THIS MORNING THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN. WE CALLED NISSAN AND THEY ADVISED THERE ARE NO RECALLS FOR THIS. THIS CAR IS SIMPLY NOT SAFE TO DRIVE IN THIS STATE. WE DROPPED THE CAR OFF AT A DEALER THIS MORNING. VARIOUS CARS ALMOST REAR-ENDED ME AT DIFFERENT TIMES WHEN LIGHT WAS GREEN, I HAD FOOT OFF BRAKE, AND WAS TRYING TO MOVE FORWARD. THIS HAPPENED VARIOUS TIMES BEFORE THE TRANSMISSION ACTUALLY WENT OUT AT 62,500 MILES. HAD IT HOOKED UP TO COMPUTER AT NISSAN DEALER AND SHOWED NO DEFECT.

IN 12/14 IT DID IT AGAIN WHILE GETTING ON AND OFF THE FREEWAY AND COMING TO A STOP TOOK IT TO NISSAN AND WAS TOLD I NEEDED A AIR FILTER WHICH WAS CHANGED 2 OIL CHANGES BEFORE THIS HAPPENED. TOOK IT HOME AND IT CUT OFF MANY MORE TIMES, NOW 4/15 IT DID IT AGAIN BUT WORSE SITTING IN TRAFFIC IT CUT OFF AND EVERYTIME I START IT AND PUT IN DRIVE IT CUT OF BUT WILL GO IN REVERSE AND IT JERK REALLY BAD, AND WHEN IT DO GO ITS HESITATE AND WHEN SMASHING ON THE GAS IT TAKES A LONG TIME TO GO THEN TAKES OFF WHEN IT DECIDES TO. JANUARY THE 8TH I WAS DRIVING FROM WORK TO HOME MY JOB IS ABOUT 30 MILES FROM MY HOME. I WAS DRIVING NO FASTER THAN 50-45 MILES AN HOUR DUE TO CONSTRUCTION IN THE AREAS ON MY WAY HOME. THERE ARE CAMERAS AT THE LIGHTS IN A CITY 7 MILES BEFORE MY CITY. IF YOU GO OVER THE LINE A BIT THEY TAKE PICTURES OF YOUR LICENSE PLATE AND SEND YOU A PICTURE AND TICKET IN THE MAIL WITH AN IMAGE OF YOU GOING OVER THE LINE INDICATING YOU'VE RUN A RED LIGHT. SO I PRESSED ON THE BREAKS TO SLOW DOWN AS THE LIGHT TURNED YELLOW TO ASSURE I DID NOT GO OVER THE LINE. HE STATED THAT THE WHINING SOUND IS COMING FROM THE POWER STEERING AND THE ROARING IS COMING FROM THE WAY I AM DRIVING THE VEHICLE. HOW DARE HE! CAR SHAKES AT 1900 RPM (EVERYTIME YOU PASS BY 1900RPM) AND WHEN STOPPED AT LIGHT (WHEN YOU HAVE BRAKES APPLIED). THIS VIBRATION CAN BE FEELED BY DRIVER & PASSENGER AND WHOLE CAR SHAKES. I HAD IT POINTED OUT DURING THE SERVICING/OIL CHANGES TO NISSAN TECHNICIAN AND ALL I GOT IS "IT IS NORMAL FOR CVT SO CAR WILL VIBRATE". THIS VIBRATION IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS ON AN AVG I DRIVER THE CAR FOR AN HOUR A DAY. AND IF I STOP AT LIGHTS FOR 10 MINUTES ON AN AVG, THEN I AM EXPOSING MY SELF TO THIS VIBRATION FOR THAT MUCH TIME A DAY WHICH IS BAD. ITS SPECIALLY BAD FOR MY LEGS. NISSAN DOES NOT HAVE A FIX AT THE MOMENT FOR THIS ISSUE BUT I EPXECT A BRAND NEW CAR NOT TO VIBRATE AS HORRIBLE AS THIS. MY 10 YEAR OLD CAR WAS MUCH SMOOTHER THEN THIS. THE OVERALL EXPERIANCE IS HORRIBLE AND WILL ADVISE ALL TO STAY AWAY FROM NISSAN BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT ADMITTING THE PROBLEM AND THEY DONT HAVE THE SOLUTION FOR SUCH A PROBLEM. VIBRATIONS FELT AT 1500-2000 RPMS (ENOUGH TO SHAKE AND VIBRATE THE DASH COMPONENTS), THEN VIBRATION GOES AWAY. SLIGHT ACCELERATION UNDER LOAD AT 1500-2000 RPMS AND AT ANY SPEED (20-30, 40-55, 72 MPH) WILL RESULT IN DRONING/VIBRATIONS (EVERYTIME). HAD NISSAN SERVICE MGR. RIDE WITH ME, THEN HE DROVE THE VEHICLE AND CONFIRMED THE VIBRATIONS. HE SAID TO RETURN THE VEHICLE IN JAN 2014 TO FURTHER DOCUMENT THIS PROBLEM THAT NISSAN DOES NOT ADMIT EXISTS. I PICKED UP MY CAR ON THE 4TH DAY AND DROVE 2 MILES FROM THE DEALERSHIP AND ENCOUNTERED THE SAME JERKING AND SHUDDERING PROBLEM. I TURNED AROUND AND WENT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I WAS GREETED BY A SERVICE MANAGER THAT INSISTED WE GO FOR A DRIVE TO SEE IF HE COULD EXPERIENCE WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT. WELL THE MAIN SELLING POINT ON THIS VEHICLE IS THAT THE DEALER TOLD ME THEY WERE TOP IN MPG'S WITH 27 CITY AND 38 HIGHWAY. AFTER A WEEK OR SO I NOTICED THAT MY MPG AVERAGE IS NO MORE THAN 23.1. AND THAT WAS WITH MORE THAN 50% TRAVEL ON HIGHWAYS WITH NO TRAFFIC(NEVER WENT UNDER THE SPEED LIMIT). I FIGURED IT HAD SOMETHING TO DO WITH IT BEING NEW AND IT WOULD AVERAGE OUT BETTER LATER. SO AFTER 5,000 MILES ON THE CAR I TOOK IT IN AND THEY TOLD ME THAT THIS IS JUST BECAUSE EVERY DRIVER AVERAGES DIFFERENT AND I KEPT SAYING BUT I AM NOT EVEN GETTING CLOSE TO THE 27 CITY AND I DRIVE MORE HIGHWAY. BUT THEY TOLD ME THAT EVERYTHING IS NORMAL AND THEY RESET THE AVERAGE CALCULATOR. AFTER A WEEK IT WAS WORSE THAN IT WAS BEFORE AND I WAS BRINGING IT BACK FOR MY MANY OTHER PROBLEMS I HAVE WITH THIS CAR. THEY HAD MY CAR FOR 4 DAYS AND FINALLY TOLD ME THAT WHILE THEY HAD IT A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON SAYING THAT MY AIR FUEL RATIO SENSOR WAS FAULTY. THEY REPLACED IT AND TOLD ME THAT WAS THE FIX. I HAVE PUT ABOUT A TANKS WORTH OF MILEAGE ON IT SINCE AND I AM GETTING UNDER 23 MPG STILL. EITHER SOMETHING IS VERY WRONG WITH MY CAR OR NISSAN IS LYING ABOUT THE MPG'S AND YES I GET THAT THEY ARE PRESENTED BY THE EPA BUT NISSAN DOES THE TEST FIRST THEN SENDS IT TO THE EPA AND THEN THE EPA TESTS LATER ON. SO I HAVE BEEN HEARING A WHINING SOUND COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT OF MY CAR AT LOW SPEEDS. I TOOK IT IN AND THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME IT WAS A NORMAL POWER STEERING NOISE. I WAS DRIVING A BRAND-NEW, NISSAN ALTIMA RENTAL CAR ON A BUSINESS TRIP. AFTER I RETURNED TO MY HOTEL ONE AFTERNOON, I FORGOT TO TURN THE ENGINE OFF. THIS VEHICLE HAS A KEY FOB AND A "START/STOP" BUTTON ONLY. THERE IS NO METAL KEY. AFTER I EXITED THE VEHICLE, I NOTICED THAT THE HORN DID NOT HONK WHEN I LOCKED THE VEHICLE WITH THE KEY FOB. THE TRUNK RELEASE DID NOT AUTOMATICALLY OPEN WHEN I USED THE KEY FOB. I MANUALLY PRESSED A BUTTON UNDER THE TRUNK LID TO RETRIEVE MY BAG. THE NEXT MORNING, I NOTICED STEAM AND WATER COMING OUT OF THE EXHAUST TAILPIPES. (IT WAS APP. 34 DEGREES THAT MORNING.) I DISCOVERED THAT THE ENGINE WAS STILL RUNNING, AND THE CAR USED APP. 3/8S OF A TANK OF GASOLINE OVERNIGHT. MY CONCERN IS THAT A CAR LIKE THIS COULD BE DRIVEN INTO A GARAGE WITH THE ENGINE LEFT ON, AND THEN THE OCCUPANTS OF THE RESIDENCE COULD GET CARBON MONOXIDE POISONING FROM THE EXHAUST FUMES. AND FOR THE ISSUE WITH THE JINGLING NOISE WAS THAT A SCREW WAS LOOSE AND RATTLING AROUND ON THE ENGINE COVER. BUT WHEN I DROVE THE NEXT DAY THE BRAKES STARTED SQUEALING AGAIN SO ONCE MORE 2 WEEKS LATER I RETURN IT AGAIN.AND THEY TELL ME THEY HAVE TO SHAVE THE REAR ROTORS THIS TIME. HE STATED THAT THEY NEEDED TO HAVE THE CAR BACK AND WOULD PAY OUR FIRST MTH PYMT AND GIVE US A REPLACEMENT CAR OF LIKE KIND AND QUALITY. THEY WOULD NOT TELL US WHY THE VEH NEEDED TO BE RETURNED. WE NOTIFIED CORP NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS DEPT AND THEY CONTACTED EMPIRE NISSAN. THEY FINALLY ADVISE THAT THE REASON THEY NEED THE VEH BACK WAS BECAUSE THERE WAS AN OPEN CAMPAIGN ON IT WITH A SINGLE RECALL. WE AGREED TO RETURN IT FOR THE REPAIR. WE TOOK THE VEH BACK TO NISSAN AND LATER ON THAT DAY, WE WERE NOTIFIED THERE WERE 10 RECALLS FOUND ON THE VEH! AT THIS POINT WE REALIZED THAT WAS WHY THEY WANTED TO SWAP THE VEH. THEY AGREED TO GIVE US A RENTAL CAR DURING REPAIRS. WE PICKED UP THE VEH & AS SOON AS WE LEFT, THERE WAS A CONSTANT BUZZING NOISE COMING FROM THE CAR, THERE WAS A LOT OF ROAD NOISE AND WHISTLING FROM THE WINDOWS, THE ENGINE WAS LOUD. WE CALLED THE GM [XXX] & ASK THEM TO BUY THE VEH BACK & THEY TOLD US THAT WE WERE ASKING TOO MUCH AND THAT WE ARE ACTING LIKE WE ARE THE VICTIM. WE ALSO CALLED THE SVS MGR, [XXX] TO MAKE HAVE THE VEH SERVICED AGAIN. HE WAS RUDE AND SAID HE DIDN'T WANT TO GET IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS WITH THE MANUFACTURE & TO NOT BRING THE VEH IN TO THEM FOR SVS & THEY WILL NOT BE PROVIDING A LOANER NOR A RENTAL FOR US. HE STATED HE WOULD HAVE AN ENGINEER COME OUT TO LOOK AT THE VEH TO DETERMINE THE COND. WE HAVE HEARD NOTHING. NISSAN HAS BEEN EVASIVE AND HAS NOT BEEN HONEST WITH US. I BOUGHT A NEW 2013 ALTIMA 2.5 SL ON 7/26/12, WITH 104 MILES ON IT SINCE IT WAS DELIVERED FROM ANOTHER DEALER. ON 7/29/12 A WARNING LIGHT CAME ON AND THE OWNER'S MANUAL SAID THAT POSSIBLY THE GAS CAP WAS NOT TIGHT. THIS WAS NOT THE CASE. MANUAL SAID THAT IF THE LIGHT WAS NOT FLASHING, THEN IT WOULD CLEAR AFTER A FEW TRIPS. IT DID NOT CLEAR, SO I DROVE 25 MILES TO DEALER 8/3/12 FOR THEM TO TEST. THEY SAID IT WAS A BAD CATALYTIC CONVERTER AND WOULD BE REPLACED THE NEXT DAY. THE FOLLOWING DAY, THE SERVICE MANAGER CALLED AND SAID THAT WHEN THEY REMOVED THE CONVERTER THAT ITS CONTENTS SPILLED ON THE SHOP FLOOR; AND THAT THEIR CONTACTS WITH NISSAN WAS THAT THIS HAD HAPPENED ON OTHERS AND THUS THE ENGINE HAD BEEN RUINED AND THAT NISSAN WOULD REPLACE THE ENGINE. I STATED THAT I DID NOT WANT A REPLACED ENGINE BECAUSE OF ALL OF THE REQUIRED DISASSEMBLY AND REASSEMBLY INVOLVED, ESPECIALLY WITH A CAR ONLY A FEW DAYS OLD AND HAVING DRIVEN ONLY APPROXIMATELY 160 MILES. I HAD PAID FOR A NEW CAR AND WANTED A COMPLETELY NEW CAR AS A REPLACEMENT. I HAVE FILED A CASE WITH NISSAN, BUT SO FAR THEY HAVE DONE NOTHING BUT SAY THAT THEY ARE REVIEWING THE SITUATION. THE SELLING DEALER HAS BEEN VERY COOPERATIVE, SAID THAT THEY AGREE WITH ME AND HAVE STATED THAT THEY HAVE ALSO CONTACTED NISSAN ON MY BEHALF AND REQUESTED THAT A NEW REPLACEMENT BE PROVIDED. SINCE NISSAN HAS SEEN THIS SITUATION ON MORE THAN ONE OCCASION, THEY WERE AWARE THAT THEY HAD FAULTY CATALYTIC CONVERTERS AND THAT CATASTROPHIC FAILURE WAS THE RESULT. THESE ARE NOT CARS WITH SEVERAL THOUSAND MILES USE AND SEVERAL MONTHS OLD; BUT RATHER MINE WAS LESS THAN A WEEK OLD. NISSAN SHOULD NOT GIVE THE BUYING CUSTOMERS THE RUN-A-ROUND, BUT DO THE PROPER THING AND REPLACE THE CARS WITH NEW ONES LIKE WE PAID FOR.
