Rear suspension links rusted out. Repair place says there is a lot of rust issues that will take a lot of work to fix. Excessive rust seems to be issues with Nissan.

The hood flew open upon entering the freeway. Could not see anymore going 60 mph. Had to pull over and bend the fenders back to close the hood. Afraid this will happen again. The latch was recalled before this happened and the dealer sprayed it and said it was safe to drive which it was not. They said nissan would not cover any repairs that are now needed to the hood and fenders.

I bought this car from Auto Auction Group Inc in Los Angeles, Ca. When I bought the vehicle it read 103,158 miles on the odometer, however I learned recently through a car fax, that when the car was received by auto auction group it had 222,854. They rolled back the odometer committing fraud and putting me at risk and selling me a lemon that was basically on its way to break down sooner rather than later. I also learned they had erased the check engine warning so it seemed like the car was fine.

I have taken the car to 3 mechanics for 4-5 incidents knowing that the mechanics were indeed certified in professionally fixing the issue. I was driving the car and made a proper left turn, yielding to oncoming traffic when suddenly the vehicle was unable to accelerate. The other car was approaching and I pushed on the gas as hard as I could to barely get it to move out of the way, luckily avoid a collision. The car died and will restart and drive another 11 miles, repeating the process. No mechanic has been able to properly identify the cause. Please understand, I could be that "lies" to individuals in order to sell the car, but do I really want to put another person's life at such a faulty incident? Well, I recommend another recall on the issue, regardless of the cost because a little hood latch and a simple light compartment isn't anything like an unknown cause of malfunction stall towards driving in a hectic traffic.

Passenger airbag safety light does not light up as it should, shows passenger isn't wearing seat belt when they are. Airbag might not deploy under these conditions. There was a recall for this, took to dealership, was not corrected. Transmission stalls and studders, will not accelerate due to faulty CVT. Causes near miss accidents. Shift lock occasionally prevents car from changing from park, reverse, drive.

Hello, I took my Nissan Altima into my local Nissan dealer for a hood latch recall on 11/13/2023. On [XXX] at about [XXX] I was driving my car at a speed of maybe 45-50mph and my hood flew open hitting my windshield causing damage to my car, and scaring my son and I. I called the dealer the next morning and spoke to Anthony from the service department regarding this situation, and he stated a faulty latch could have been put on my car, causing this to happen. I sent pictures to him via email, and he advised that he would contact the director and call me back with an update. I received a callback within hours advising Nissan would cover the damages but I would need to contact consumer affairs to see which location could do the repairs as they were behind by 8 month at that location in particular and could not provide me with a loaner car. My fiancé contacted consumer affairs on 11/22/2023 and was told someone would call on 11/27/2023. I received a missed call and voicemail advising that I would receive a callback on 11/29/2023. I did not want to wait until the 29th and tried calling back as well as emailing several times and had not heard back. Today 11/28/2023 a call was placed to the direct number I was given and no answer. I then called the 800 number and spoke with a rep named Monica requesting a supervisor or manager and was yelled at and told I would receive a call back on the 29th. I advised that I am extremely saddened by the way I am being handled after such a traumatic ordeal that could have been deadly or life altering. This recall was supposed to prevent this issue, and it only caused it. This recall hasn't done anything to fix the cars, and neither have three other hood latch recalls for Altima cars. Altima drivers are in danger from hoods that suddenly fly open while driving, and this situation just proves a problem. Nissan doesn't know how to properly repair it, and my car and I are proof. My son was driving on the highway when all of a sudden the car would no longer excel when he pressed on the gas. He immediately moved over in traffic to get to the side of the road and just barely made it before the car completely stopped moving. He was very lucky that he reacted in the way he did being a new driver on the road. This could have been EXTREMELY bad if he didn't think to move over and in the correct direction to make it all the way through traffic around him. The transmission is the component that failed. The issue was inspected and confirmed by the dealer and replaced. No warning lights came on when this issue occured.

Steady Check Engine light came on April 25, 2023. Just had oil change/filter done day before. Had tune-up done May 25, 2023. Had mechanic who replaced my catalytic converter and (2) O2 sensors a year ago check my car. Found that the inside of the catalytic converter was melted. They checked for a fuel leak in engine, none found. Replaced catalytic converter and front O2 sensor. As of today, no Steady Check Engine light has come back on. I think a Flashing Check Engine light should have displayed for something as serious as a fuel leak. What if my car caught fire while driving? Also, I was told several years ago by a local Nissan dealer that my driver side airbag would need replacing - that indicator light never came back on the dash board either. Faulty sensors? I notified Nissan in TN by mail.

The CVT was making noise and vibrated. We did some research on line and read that the 2013 Nissan Sentra already had a transmission recall and many reported safety incidents. We saw many complaints for the 2013 Altima transmission but no recalls. The dealer said the transmission must be replaced but we would have to pay for it and they would contact us if a recall was announced. There was a recall for the CVT software and the owner notification states that that this issue could lead ro accelerated wear and damage to the CVT. I would think that they would then need to cover a failed transmission.

The rear suspension lower links on my 2013 Nissan Altima corroded and broke away from the joints on both sides. The rear passenger was affected in July 2022 and the rear driver side was affected in October 2022. Both incidents happened as I was backing out of my drive-way and the rear lower links literally snapped and broke away from the vehicle. After my Altima was at the body shop for the second time to replace the driver rear suspension lower link, we discovered a Campaign by Nissan that was entitled "Altima Rear Lower Link" and it affected 2013 Nissan Altima's (which we had) and the campaign went on to indicate that this was in states with high road salt usage. We live in Iowa so that covered our state for high road salt usage and the campaign went on to say that under severe corrosion conditions, one of the rear lower suspension links may corrode and separate at the bushing joint area. This happened to both sides of my Altima's rear lower link suspension as there was severe corrosion. We tried to file a claim with Nissan to get reimbursed for our towing expense and expense of having my Altima repaired but were denied reimbursement stating our VIN # didn't match any listed on this campaign even though we had the exact same make, model, year and conditions surrounding the campaign that caused the rear suspension lower link to snap away from the joint area. This isn't just something common to happen to vehicles and with Nissan refusing to reimburse us for a known issue on the exact same make, model and year of the car is frustrating. There could have easily been human error in not including our VIN# in this campaign. Way too many coincidences for Nissan to not even consider looking into our issue and including our VIN# in this campaign.

ANSWER While opening all three of the passenger doors from the inside something internally inside the door has broken preventing all three of these doors to open from the inside. 2. ANSWER This is a safety risk because we are unable to open the door from the inside and if there were an accident we would not be able to exit the vehicle. 3. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center?ANSWER Yes, the problem has been confirmed by the dealer. 4. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? ANSWER No, the doors have not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. 5. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? ANSWER No, there were no warning lights that came on warning me about this.

THE STEERING WHEEL WAS PULLING TO ONE SIDE AS I DROVE TO WORK. AFTER I PARKED MY CAR I PUT IT IN REVERSE AND SOMETHING FELL OUT OF THE BOTTOM OF THE CAR. THE REAR LOWER LINK HAD BROKEN IN HALF AND THE CAR WAS NOT DRIVABLE. THE TIRES BENT IN. THE CAR WAS THEN TOWED TO UNIVERSAL NISSAN. THIS WAS A RECALL AND NISSAN WANTS TO CHARGE ME FOR PARTS AND LABOR.

While driving at 35mph on a city road the car hood flew up open & smashed into the windshield despite their supposed fix of hood latch spring being replaced & assembly lubricated by the Nissan dealership in Aug 2021 due to a Nissan hood latch recall (NHTSA recall 16V-029) in response to a class action lawsuit. At highway speeds, this would have seriously compromised human lives. In this case, neither the primary hood latch lever or fuel door release lever had been pulled open by the driver just prior to the incident; yet the hood flew open without warning. (Hoods have primary latches located inside the vehicles, then secondary latches located under the hoods. Primary hood latches in the cars are located too close to the fuel door latches that might cause drivers to accidentally unlatch the hoods instead of the fuel doors. Then once the primary hood latch is pulled in the Altima, the secondary latch under the hood fails to hold the hood down, allowing the Altima hood to open while driving.) No warning lights or messages came on. The car was not drivable & was towed to the Nissan dealership where it is currently pending repairs estimate $5234.58. At this time, Nissan Motors accepts no liability for this incident; clearly shifting the blame again. Nissan Motors has issued multiple (2014, 2015, 2016, 2020, 2022interim) hood latch recalls in response to this problem in various Nissan models 2013-2018, the most recent in 2022 (still in progress). Design and manufacturing defects allegedly cause the hoods to open while driving at any speed. According to the Altima class action lawsuit, Nissan blames the problems on multiple sources but still can’t properly repair the cars. The Altima hood latch systems are allegedly not strong enough to perform in real-world conditions and aren’t up to industry standards used for more than 100 years. The return springs are also allegedly too weak, as are the locking systems which prevent the hoods from securely latching.

The airbag light has come on on the dash and does not go out. It doesn't matter if someone is in the seat with or without the seat belt. It stays on. Now I'm worried the airbag won't work in an accident or it might go off/explode at any time.

Got recall for hood latch handled in September of 2021. While driving on the highway at 70 mph the hood flew open which caused severe damage to vehicle and almost causing numerous of crashes. Vehicle is being repaired per dealer however this is the third time this issue occurred and at this point I am afraid to drive the vehicle and nervous for anyone with these vehicles to continue driving them honestly. I am unsure what to do at this point considering what if this happens again and the outcome isn't as good as previously. I just feel as though if this issue can't be corrected after 5 recalls why continue to have these vehicles on the road.

2013 Altima 3.5 SL. the passenger door handle popped and wont open from the inside, you have to roll the window down and open it from the outside, if you cant get out of your car in an emergency it is a life or death situation.

My automatic vehicle is stuck in park- either the shift lock solenoid component or the actual assembly and/ore electric that activates the ability to move out of park is defective. If you use a tool and manually override shift lock you can move out of gear. There are thousands of complaints and videos online about this same issue. The fix is anywhere from 500 to 1k at a repair shop. This is an extremely dangerous condition as there is no way to ever quickly get out of the way - of anything- if your vehicle is in park.

CVT Transmission failed, they know the 2013 model has a bad transmission and instead of recalling it they only did an extended 2 year warranty in a class action lawsuit. The car should not be on the road we just paid our car off not knowing about this issue and the car stopped in the middle of traffic and would not drive. We got it towed to a Nissan Dealership to find out it needs a new Transmission and that's when we learned about all the issues of the CVT Transmission issues on the 2013 model. Uploaded towing bill, do not have the invoice from the dealership yet but they are stating 5900.00 to replace the transmission which is crazy now seeing everything online knowing it's a faulty part.

My 2013 Nissan Altima has serious electrical problems and continues to drain my battery, leaving me seeking alternative transportation to and from home, work, etc. The headlight low and high beams are dangerously dim! I have replaced the bulbs several times and the problems continues to get worse. I have seen litigation online with numerous people involved. I thought NTSB would have acted by now? I have also had numerous problems with the AC not working? I am getting estimates currently looking at a $2,000 problem. The lights on this car have always had an issue ever since I bought it off the lot in 2014 new with 35 miles on the car. The first couple of years I continued to return to the dealer where I bought the car to have them replace the lights but I got tired of dealing with returning to not get favorable results. It for sure is a Nissan issue. The cosmetic light strips on the rearview mirrors on both sides of the vehicle also had condensation visibly in the strips as well. I had those also supposedly replaced as well. The issue is still there all these years later just got annoyed with returning to the dealer and wasting lots of time with no results. I have pictures of the issue dated a few weeks after buying the car in 2014, May. The headlights look pretty dull and not bright when driving. I am on this website to see in fact if there is a recall on the lights but apparently there is not.

The gear shifter in my 2013 Nissan Altima will not shift. I turn on the vehicle. I then place my foot on the brake and push the button to shift gears and nothing happens. The unit is locked I cannot shift to any gear. I has to tow the vehicle home. I did not find out until later that a plastic piece can be popped out and a screwdriver or key could be pressed on the mechanism inside the hole to release the gear shifter to shift. In recent times there have been random shootings and car jackings in and around the Chicago area. I am very concerned with this for I or a family member could become a victim if the situation is presented. With no way to shift gears, we cannot avoid a potential emergency situation.

This is a known problem with Nissan's all over social media and youtube has videos about this issue with the gear shift going out and not functioning.Please add this to the recall please take the time so consumers can drive safely again.

Component malfunctioned - Driver sun visor comes down randomly & always over bumps. 2013 Altima is available for inspection. Risk factor - Visor came down randomly while I was driving in rush hour beltway traffic and hit me in the nose, blurred my vision and put me and my passenger at severe safety risk. Problem confirmed by independent service center No other inspections No warnings. First started in 2018 but has gotten progressively worse to the point of almost causing accidents due to hindering my vision while driving and/or hitting me in the face.

I went to recall for Altima hood latch no repair, alt rge cvt p0766 ntb16-121, max alt rg mur ocs ntb16-052 and altima hood latch ntb16-011. There were no safety issues with vehicle operation before the recall. The KatyNissan called me on June 7th to notify me that they fried the components during the computer diagnosis. The KatyNissan told me that they will charge Nissan USA for it. I went to the KatyNissan to pick up my car on June 8th, the transmission and i-key warning lights appeared on the head-up display. I called the person in charge and said, "Why is this happening?" He asked me to pay $100 to re-synchronize the car keys because he reprogramed the car computer due to the fry up, and the car jerks violently when shifting the gear. After the pickup, I got a new state registration tag and went back home. MIL warning sign appeared on the head-up display. On the next day morning on June 9th, I brought my car to the dealer for repair. The KatyNissan explained this situation to Nissan USA and Nissan USA stated that they are not responsible for the fry-up during the computer system diagnosis so the KatyNissan and I should split up the expenses in 50:50. I believe this statement is unreasonable, the dealer should take full responsibility.

CAN'T SHIFT OUT OF PARK. MULTIPLE NISSAN VEHICLES OF THIS EXACT MODEL YEAR HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. OVER 500+ COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN MADE ABOUT THE SHIFT LEVER GETTING STUCK IN PARK, AND THE ISSUE IS DUE TO A WEAK PLASTIC BIT THAT BREAKS ON THE INSIDE OF THE CENTER CONSOLE. THIS WOULD BE A MAJOR ISSUE FOR SOMEONE TRYING TO MOVE THEIR CAR WHEN STUCK IN TRAFFIC AFTER PUTTING IN PARK, ONLY TO REALIZE THEY CAN'T TAKE IT OUT OF PARK. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALER, TO WHICH QUOTED ME 400$ FOR THE REPAIR COSTS AND THEN LET ME KNOW OF MULTIPLE PEOPLE WHO HAVE CALLED WITH THE SAME COMPLAINT. THIS TYPICALLY HAPPENS AROUND 75,000 MILES. THIS CAN BE A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN, AND SHOULD BE RECALLED DUE TO THE NUMBER OF ISSUES THAT OWNERS HAVE HAD WITH THE EXACT MODEL.

LOUD AND EXTREMELY SHAKY. I GOT HOME AND AS IT WAS NIGHT AND DARK OUT, DIDN'T SEE ANYTHING. TODAY WHEN THE DAYLIGHT CAME OUT, I NOTICED MY REAR PASSENGER TIRE LEANING INWARDS 'DRASTICALLY. SO I LOOKED UNDER THE TIRE AREA AND THERE WAS A CORRODED PIECE OF METAL HANGING DOWN WITH MY SPRING LOOSE. MY FRIEND AND I SEARCHED EVERYWHERE AND COULDN'T FIND THE PART'13-14 NISSAN ALTIMA SEDAN REAR PASSENGER RIGHT LOWER MAIN SPRING SUPPORT ARM. I CALLED NISSAN AND WAS QUOTED $200 AND SOME CHANGE. OK, NOT TOO BAD... I WAS DRIVING IDLE SPEED IN ORDER TO 'BE SAFE.' WHY WAS I NOT NOTIFIED?! AND WHY IS IT THAT WHEN I CALLED NISSAN, THEY DID NOT TELL ME THIS WAS A 'KNOWN ISSUE' AS THEY HAVE IN THE PAST? AT FIRST I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT TO DO BECAUSE I WAS IN FEAR OF MY SAFETY. I LOOKED DOWN AT THE DASHBOARD OF MY CAR TO SEE WHAT IT COULD POSSIBLY BE AND NO WARNING LIGHTS OR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS DISPLAYED. I TURNED THE CAR BACK ON AND IT STARTED PERFECTLY NORMAL LIKE NOTHING HAD HAPPENED. WITH A LOT OF TRAFFIC AND ABOUT 3 CARS HONKING AT ME, I THEN PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE AGAIN AND SHORTLY DOWN THE STREET A COUPLE BLOCKS AWAY THE CAR DOES IT AGAIN TO ME, THIS TIME ALMOST CAUSING ANOTHER ACCIDENT. I WAS SO TERRIFIED I HAD MY CAR TOWED TO A MECHANIC WHERE HE SAID THIS PROBLEM IS COMMON WITH NISSAN ALTIMA TRANSMISSIONS PARTICULARLY THE 2013 MODELS. I REACHED OUT TO THE CORPORATE OFFICE AND I WAS ADVISED THAT I HAVE NO WARRANTY OR COVERAGE TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. THIS IS VERY SERIOUS AND SAD BECAUSE THE MAKERS OF THIS VEHICLE COULD HAVE TAKEN MY LIFE. NO CHECK ENGINE LIKE CAME ON, NOR HAD ANY SIGNS OF MY CAR NEEDING SERVICE CAME UP, NOTHING. WHEN I WOULD TRY SPEEDING UP IT STARTED TO MAKE A RATTLING NOISE, STILL LESS POWER. I PULLED OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE FREEWAY BECAUSE THERE WERE CARS COMING VERY FAST AND ONCE I PRESSED ON MY BRAKE TO MAKE THE STOP, MY CAR STALLED. A COUPLE OF MONTHS LATER THE SAME THING HAPPENED AGAIN AS I WAS GETTING ON THE FREEWAY AFTER WORK WITH MY SON. HAD TO GET OFF AND DRIVE TO THE DEALER. APPARENTLY, THEY FIXED THE WRONG THING. A FEW DAYS AFTER PICKING UP MY VEHICLE FROM GETTING THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FIXED, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON AGAIN. DIDN'T NOTE ANYTHING MAJOR WHILE DRIVING BUT WAS JUST AWFUL HAVING TO TAKE BACK THE VEHICLE WHEN I HAD JUST PICKED IT UP LITERALLY 2-3 DAYS BEFORE. THE DEALER KEPT MY VEHICLE THROUGH THE HOLIDAYS AND IT TOOK THEM 3 DAYS TO DETERMINE WHAT WAS WRONG WITH IT. I WAS FINALLY TOLD THAT I NEEDED A THROTTLE CHAMBER REPLACED. WAS NEVER TOLD WHAT THE PART WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR DOING AND WHY IT WASN'T FOUND WHEN THEY HAD IT PREVIOUSLY. STILL NOT 2 YEARS OF OWNING THE VEHICLE. PERSONALLY, TOO MANY ISSUES WITH MY 2013 ALTIMA VEHICLE IN LESS THAN 2 YEARS AND NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS KEEPS WASHING THEIR HANDS OF ANY DEFECT OR LEMON LAW. AFTER THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER CAME TO ME AND MY FAMILY'S RESCUE AND THE HE SHOWED ME HOW TO BYPASS THE SHIFT LOCK RELEASE. AFTER EXPERIENCING SUCH A HORRIFIC ORDEAL I DECIDE TO RESEARCH THIS PROBLEM AND COME TO FIND OUT IT SEEMS TO BE A MAJOR ISSUE THAT MANY (2013-15) NISSAN ALTIMA OWNERS HAVE EXPERIENCED WITH THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFT LOCK MECHANISM THAT PREVENTS THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFTER FROM COMING OUT OF PARK. THE SHIFTER REMAINS STUCK IN PARK POSITION AND WILL NOT SHIFT, NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN FILED FOR NISSAN NOT TO KNOW OF THE SERIOUS MATTER THAT QUALIFIES AS A LEGITIMATE RECALL. FIRST ISSUE: WENT TO OPEN INSIDE DRIVER DOOR AND HEARD SOMETHING SNAP. NOW THE DOOR HANDLE JUST FLOPS BACK AND FORTH WITHOUT OPENING THE DOOR. SECOND ISSUE: I PUT MY FOOT ON THE BREAK AND TRIED TO MOVE THE GEAR SHIFTER FROM PARK TO REVERSE. THE BUTTON THAT YOU WOULD PRESS TO SHIFT WOULDN'T MOVE. NOW MY CAR IS STUCK IN PARK. "TAKATA RECALL" MY GEAR SHIFTER REMAINS IN A STUCK POSITION. THE CAR WAS STATIONARY ON A CITY STREET. I WAS UNABLE TO SHIFT FROM PARK TO ANOTHER GEAR. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE AS I HAVE GOTTEN STUCK WITH MY TODDLER IN THE CAR AND WAS UNABLE TO MOVE TO A SAFER LOCATION. IT TOOK ME AT LEAST 15 MINUTES TO GET THE CAR TO SHIFT FROM PARK INTO GEAR. I WAS TERRIFIED! I HAD TO LEAVE THE CAR IN ITS LOCATION AND TAKE A LYFT HOME WITH MY DAUGHTER. THE NEXT DAY MY LOCAL MECHANIC CAME TO CHECK THE CAR. HE SAID THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE FOR 2013 NISSAN ALTIMAS. HE SAID HE WOULD HAVE TO TAKE THE CAR TO HIS SHOP TO INVESTIGATE WHAT MIGHT BE CAUSING THIS FAILURE OR I SHOULD CALL UP NISSAN BECAUSE THEY SHOULD BE AWARE OF THIS SAFETY ISSUE.

IF THERE WAS A FIRE OR CRASH OR END UP IN WATER THERE WOULD BE LITTLE CHANCE TO EXCAPE IF POWER WENT OUT OF INJURY. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL, I WAS QUOTED $185 DOLLARS PER DOOR HANDLE FOR A THE FAULT OF NISSAN QUALITY PARTS.

CONSISTENT WITH NHTSA ITEM #10119276, THE MAGNET CLUTCH TO THE AIR CONDITIONER COMPRESSOR DOES NOT ENGAGE CAUSING THE AIR CONDITIONER TO BLOW HOT AIR. UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS, THIS COULD POTENTIALLY OVEREXPOSE TTHE OPERATOR TO DANGEROUS LEVELS OF HEAT WHICH COULD ADVERSELY AFFECT THE OPERATOR'S ABILITY TO SAFELY CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND THEREFORE LEAD TO CRASHES AS WELL AS INJURY TO THE OPERATOR SUCH AS HEAT EXHAUSTION OR HEAT STROKE. WHEN THE VEHICLE IS MOVING, THE RISK OF THE OPERATOR'S OVEREXPOSURE TO THE HEAT CAN BE REDUCED BY ROLLING DOWN THE WINDOWS. HOWEVER DURING RAINFALL, AT SLOW SPEEDS OR WHILE AT A STANDSTILL, THAT OPTION IS NOT AVAILABLE. AS AN EXAMPLE, WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE, I REACHED A SECTION THAT WAS SHUT DOWN. OTHER MOTORISTS ASSISTED HIM AND WERE ABLE TO FIND SOMEONE WITH A COOLER OF ICE AND SO THE DOCTOR WAS ABLE TO TREAT ME BY ICING ME DOWN. THE DOCTOR TOLD ME THAT I WAS ON THE VERGE OF HEAT STROKE WHICH WAS AN EMERGENCY SITUATION. THIS INCIDENCE MADE ME REALIZE THAT A DEFECTIVE AIR CONDITIONER IS NOT SIMPLY UNCOMFORTABLE AND AN INCONVENIENCE BUT BECAUSE UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS IT CAN ADVERSELY AFFECT THE OPERATOR'S ABILITY TO SAFELY CONTROL THE VEHICLE, IT CAN LEAD TO UNSAFE DRIVING CONDITIONS. I NOW BELIEVE THAT ANY PROBLEM THAT HAS THE POTENTIAL TO ADVERSELY AFFECT THE OPERATOR'S ABILITY TO SAFELY CONTROL THE VEHICLE SHOULD BE CONSIDERED A SAFETY ISSUE.

THIS IS IN REGARDS TO THE CVT TRANSMISSION. IN FEBRUARY 2018, WHILE MY CAR WAS IN IDLE MODE, MY CAR SHUDDERED AND STALLED. WHEN I PUT IT IN PARK, SHUT THE CAR OFF, AND RESTARTED IT, THE CAR TURNED BACK ON. HOWEVER, WHEN I SHIFTED BACK IN "DRIVE" THE CAR WOULD SHUDDER AND STALL. AFTER MANY ATTEMPTS, THE CAR FINALLY WORKED. LATER THAT DAY, WHILE AT A STOP SIGN THE CAR SHUDDERED AND STALLED. I HAD TO GET IT TOWED TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP. THEY DID A DIAGNOSTIC. NOTHING SHOWED UP. MY LOCAL MECHANICS REPLACED A SENSOR BECAUSE THEY THOUGHT THAT COULD HAVE BEEN THE PROBLEM. FAST FORWARD TO AUGUST 2018. MY CAR WHILE DRIVING SLOW BEGAN TO SHUDDER AND THEN STALL OUT. I BROUGHT IT TO NISSAN. THIS TIME THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST SAID I NEED A VALVE BODY REPLACEMENT. THAT COSTED ME $1100. 2 WEEKS LATER. I WAS DRIVING AND WHEN I STARTED TO SLOW DOWN MY CAR SHUDDERED THEN STALLED. I RESTARTED IT FORTUNATELY AND BROUGHT IT BACK TO NISSAN. THEY DID ANOTHER DIAGNOSTIC. THIS TIME THEY SAID THE CVT TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I HAVE DONE MUCH RESEARCH ON THIS. MANY PEOPLE HAD THIS PROBLEM. MY CAR IS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA WITH 65K MILES ON IT. THERE IS NO REASON WHY THIS SHOULD BE HAPPENING. NISSAN KNOWS THIS IS A PROBLEM, YET THEY DO NOTHING ABOUT IT.

IT COST ME ABOUT $500 TO HAVE IT FIXED. I HAD BEEN ROLLING THE DRIVER-SIDE WINDOW DOWN TO GET OUT BUT HAD TO HAVE THE BACK DOORS REPAIRED BECAUSE I HAVE SMALL CHILDREN AND IF THERE HAD BEEN AN ACCIDENT THE CHILDREN WOULD BE TRAPPED IN THE BACKSEAT. I CALLED CUSTOMER CARE TO COMPLAIN. THEY CONSIDERED MY CASE FOR ABOUT A WEEK AND CAME BACK WITH A DETERMINATION THAT THEY COULD NOT COVER IT BECAUSE IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. EVEN THE NISSAN DEALER INDICATED THAT SINCE SO MANY OF THESE VEHICLES HAD THE SAME PROBLEM A RECALL SHOULD BE GIVEN. I AM DISAPPOINTED AT THE LACK OF ACTION PROVIDED BY NISSAN! GOD-FORBID IF SOMEONE GETS HURT BECAUSE THEY CAN'T GET OUT IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT! I HAVE ATTACHED 9 PAGES OF COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER 2013 ALTIMA OWNERS WHO HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I HAD TO HAVE MY CAR TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND SAID THAT THE DIAGNOSTIC COMPUTER TEST DID NOT SHOW ANY CODES FOR THE PROBLEM. THEY ENDED UP UPDATING THE TRANSMISSION MODULE AND SAID THEY HOPED THIS WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM CONTINUES TO OCCUR AND I HAVE HAD TO AVOID STOPPING AT LIGHTS DUE TO THE CAR WANTING TO CUT OFF. THIS SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM THAT OTHER NISSAN CAR OWNERS ARE ALSO FACING. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION TO BE IN DUE TO THE FACT THAT YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN YOU WILL BE STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF A STREET WHETHER IT BE INTERSTATE STOP AND GO TRAFFIC OR NORMAL CITY STREET TRAFFIC. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE EXITING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT HEARD A LOUD POP SOUND. AFTERWARDS, THE INTERIOR HANDLES ON ALL FOUR DOORS WERE UNABLE TO OPEN THE DOORS. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO START THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT START AND NOTICED A LOT OF CORROSION ON THE BATTERY TERMINALS. THE BATTERY HAD BEEN CHANGED OUT THREE TIMES, BUT THE FAILURE WAS STILL BEING EXPERIENCED. THE DEALER (TOWN CENTER NISSAN, 2310 BARRETT LAKES BLVD NW, KENNESAW, GA 30144) INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE DOOR HANDLE FAILURE "COULD BE A SAFETY RISK". THE DEALER STATED THAT THE REASON THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START WAS DUE TO CORROSION OF THE BATTERY TERMINALS. BOTH REPAIRS WOULD BE AT THE CONTACT'S EXPENSE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE BOTH FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.

WE HAD TO TURN THE ENGINE OFF FOR ABOUT 15-30MINUTES AND PRESSED/ PULSED THE GAS TO FINALLY GET IT TO MOVE... THIS ALL HAPPENED FOR 3 DAYS AND I TOOK IT TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP (PAYED $140 TO DIAGNOSE THE PROBLEM) MECHANIC SAID JUST FROM DRIVING THE CAR INTO THE SHOP, 9/10 IT MAY BE THE TRANSMISSION. TO PINPOINT THE PROBLEM THEY WILL HAVE TO REMOVE THE COVER BODY ($546) AND IF IT'S THE TRANSMISSION, REPAIRS WILL COST $4600!!!! EVEN THOUGH MILEAGE IS WITHIN THE WARRANTY RANGE OF <60K IT'S NOT COVERED BECAUSE THEY CLAIMED THE CAR WAS IN AN ACCIDENT AND WAS SALVAGED. I REALLY DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THAT WILL IMPACT IT GIVEN THE CAR HAD ONLY 13K WHEN I PURCHASED IT. IT SEEM THIS IS COMMON PROBLEM REPORTED BY MANY WITH THIS PARTICULAR CAR. SOMETIMES THE CAR DOESN'T MOVE AT ALL UNTIL I MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL BACK AND FORTH. FROM THIS I CAN INFER IT HAS TO DO WITH THE POWER STEERING OR SOMETHING ELECTRICAL. IT ONLY HAPPENS WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL IS TURNED HALFWAY OR MORE AT A STOP. KINDA LIKE A POWER OUTAGE AT THAT SINCE ALL THE LIGHTS DIM AND SOMETIMES EVEN THE HVAC FAN SPEED GOES DOWN WHILE WHILE THE CAR IS UNABLE TO MOVE. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS AS I WAS TRYING TO MAKE A LEFT TURN WHILE THERE WAS A PAUSE IN OPPOSITE TRAFFIC AND THE CAR JUST ROLLED A LITTLE AND STOPPED SINCE I DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL WHILE ACCELERATOR PEDAL DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING UNTIL I STRAIGHTENED THE STEERING WHEEL. AFTER MY CAR ROLLED OUT INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC I COULD OF EASILY GOTTEN IN A CRASH IF THE ONCOMING CARS DIDN'T SLOW DOWN FOR ME. THIS HAPPENS PRETTY RANDOMLY BUT ONLY WHEN TRYING TO TURN FROM A STOP. I OFTEN TRAVEL WITH MY 85 YEAR OLD MOTHER AND TO HAVE THE AC BLOW HOT AIR WHILE STUCK IN TRAFFIC FOR ALMOST TWO HOURS WAS SOMETHING BOTH UNACCEPTABLE AND EMBARRASSING. THIS PROBLEM BEGAN ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AFTER I DROVE IT OFF THE LOT FROM CARMAX IN PLEASANTON, CA. IT BLOWS HOT AIR ALMOST CONSISTENTLY WHILE DRIVING, REGARDLESS OF SPEED. WHILE RESEARCHING, I FOUND THAT THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AND I AM ALSO HEARING THAT, DEPENDING ON THEIR MOOD, NISSAN WILL COVER THE EXUBERANT $1500 TO REPLACE THE COMPRESSOR...NOT MANY HAVE BEEN SUCCESSFUL. I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC AND PER THE SALESPERSON AT CARMAX, HE RECOMMENDED THAT THE AC NEEDED TO BE RECHARGED. THEY DID SO, BUT THE PROBLEM STILL PERSISTS. I AM SURPRISED WITH THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS THAT HEY HAVE NOT ISSUED A RECALL FOR THIS. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD, AS IT IS JUST AS BAD AS LEAVING A CHILD IN A CAR FOR HOURS! WE WERE STUCK IN TRAFFIC FOR ALMOST TWO HOURS AND WERE DRENCHED WITH SWEAT ONCE WE FINALLY ARRIVED HOME. HAD SHE PASSED OUT DUE TO HEAT EXHAUSTION, I'M NOT SURE WHAT I WOULD HAVE DONE BECAUSE WE WERE AT A STAND-STILL AT ONE POINT. IT WAS A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!?! I HAVE A 10.5 MONTH OLD AND IT IS 100 DEGREES OUTSIDE!!! ANOTHER HUGE SAFETY ISSUE) AND NOW THERE IS ANOTHER NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE AT ALL SPEEDS, A GRINDING NOISE. THE CVT TRANSMISSION ON MY 2013 ALTIMA WENT OUT. I PURCHASED THIS CAR BRAND NEW AND COMPLETED REQUIRED MAINTENANCE. THE TRANSMISSION WENT OUT AFTER LESS THAN 4 YEARS AND AT 70K MILES. IT SEEMS THAT THOUSANDS OF CONSUMERS HAVE HAD THE SAME ISSUE. THE CAR WILL SHUTTER, JERK, AND SHUT OFF WHEN YOU ARE STOPPED/IDLE. THE CAR ALSO SHUTTERS WHEN ACCELERATING AND DOES NOT HAVE MUCH POWER. THIS WAS AN EXTREME SAFE HAZARD WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. THE CAR IS NOT SHIFTING GEARS PROPERLY/TRANSMISSION BROKE. THE SHIFT LOCK WILL NOT RELEASE. APPARENTLY THE SOLENOID THAT RELEASES THE LOCK HAS CEASED FUNCTIONING. THE SAME COMPLAINTS ARE FOUND ALL OVER THE INTERNET AND NISSAN WON'T ACKNOWLEDGE IT. THEY ALSO WANT AT LEAST $750.00 TO REPLACE WHAT IS AT BEST A $20 PART. THAT'S BECAUSE IT IS PART OF THE SHIFT MECHANISM AND THEY WANT TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE UNIT. THAT LEAVES ONLY TWO CHOICES FOR THOSE WHO CAN'T AFFORD A REPAIR OF THAT PRICE. ONE IS TO DISABLE THE LOCK MECHANISM OR THE SECOND IS NOT SHIFT INTO PARK AT ALL AND USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE. NEITHER ARE SENSIBLE ALTERNATIVES BUT WITH NO HELP FROM NISSAN THEY ARE THE ONLY TWO AVAILABLE.

I WENT IN FOR A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND A NOISE COMING FROM MY CAR, ALSO MY AIR CONDITIONING HAD SUDDENLY WENT OUT. I FOUND OUT I NEEDED A NEW RADIATOR. I DID NOT DRIVE THE CAR AFTER THIS, I ORDERED MY PARTS AND HAD THE RADIATOR INSTALLED A WEEK LATER. THE CAR WAS DRIVING GREAT. THEN I PARKED IT SHUT IT OFF AND COULD NOT GET IT TO START AGAIN. SO THE MECHANIC RAN DIAGNOSTIC ON IT AND HAD A NEW CODE OF CYLINDER MISFIRE. SO I CHANGED OUT MY SPARK PLUGS, BUT SAME THING HAPPENED. THE CAR WOULD START BUT ONCE SHUT OFF IT COULD NOT START AGAIN. THEN THE MECHANIC NOTICED THE PLUGS WERE WET AND SAID THAT IT WAS ANTI-FREEZE DRIPPING IN, THUS HIS DIAGNOSIS A NEW HEAD GASKET IS NEEDED.

THE MELTING DASHBOARD CREATES A STRONG GLARE OR REFLECTION ON THE WINDSHIELD WHICH IMPEDES MY ABILITY TO SEE THE ROAD AND MY SURROUNDS. I NOTIFIED MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND THEY REFUSED TO HELP ME WITH THIS PROBLEM. I CALLED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS WHICH ALSO DENIED MY REQUEST TO SOLVE THIS ISSUE. IT APPEARS THAT THE DASHBOARD MATERIAL THAT IS USED WAS NOT PROPERLY TESTED FOR HIGHER TEMPERATURES OR THAT THIS IS SIMPLY A DEFECTIVE PART. THE RESIDUE ON THE SURFACE OF THE DASHBOARD COULD ALSO BE A HEALTH HAZARD AS THE DASHBOARD IS CLEARLY DEGRADING AND MAY BE EMITTING FUMES WITHIN THE CABIN. I ALSO SUSPECT THAT LEFT UNTREATED, THIS MELTING DASHBOARD HAS THE POTENTIAL TO IMPACT THE DEPLOYMENT OF AIRBAGS WITHIN THE VEHICLE. I EXPECT THAT NISSAN ADDRESSES THESE CONCERNS AND OFFERS A SOLUTION TO THIS MANUFACTURING DEFECT BEFORE IT CAUSES AN ACCIDENT.

THE REPRESENTATIVE GAVE ME A CASE NUMBER (22894092) AND TRANSFERRED ME TO MY LOCAL DEALER AGAIN. FOR UNKNOWN REASONS, THE BRAKES STAY ON CAUSING THE CAR TO EITHER NOT MOVE, OR TO GO INTO LIMP MODE. WHEN THIS HAPPENS, THE GEAR SHIFTER CAN BE MOVED OUT OF PARK WITHOUT DEPRESSING THE BRAKE. ALSO, THE CAR CAN BE STARTED WITHOUT HAVING TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL. SOMETIMES, THE OUTSIDE BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON, SOMETIMES THEY DON'T. I REPLACED THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH AND MANUALLY OPERATING THE SWITCH WOULD NOT MAKE LIGHTS GO OFF. SOMETIMES WHEN DRIVING, THE BRAKE SYSTEM WILL RELEASE AND VEHICLE ACCELERATES RAPIDLY, TO THE POINT OF LOSING CONTROL. SOMETIMES, A QUICK PUMP OF THE BRAKE PEDAL WILL RELEASE WHATEVER IS GOING ON-SOMETIMES NOTHING WILL CAUSE IT TO GO BACK TO NORMAL. REMOVING THE NEGATIVE BATTERY CABLE WILL TURN OFF THE LIGHTS, BUT WILL NOT RESET THE PROBLEM. DEALER HAS NO SUGGESTIONS TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM, EXCEPT TO LET THEM KEEP THE CAR AND TO START REPLACING PARTS UNTIL THEY MAKE THE PROBLEM GO AWAY. NISSAN AMERICA SAYS NISSAN HAS ALREADY SPENT TOO MUCH MONEY TRYING TO RESOLVE PREVIOUS ISSUES ON THIS CAR AND WOULD NOT SPEND ANOTHER PENNY!!! PRIVATE MECHANIC THAT IS TRYING TO TROUBLESHOOT PROBLEM IS HAVING NO LUCK DETERMINING THE CAUSE. THERE ARE NISSAN TSB'S ABOUT SHORTED WIRING, BUT ONLY NISSAN TECHS CAN ACCES THOSE. CAR HAS BEEN IN SHOP 44 TIMES FOR 62 DAYS FOR VARIOUS MAJOR PROBLEMS THAT NISSAN CAN'T OR WON'T FIX COMPLETELY. NISSAN REFUSES TO TRY TO MAKE THE SITUATION RIGHT, EVEN THOUGH THEY ADMIT THE DOWN TIME IS EXORBITANT AND NOT IN LINES WITH THEIR COMPANY SATISFACTION GUARANTEE.

WHILE DRIVING ON ROUTE 128 NORTH THE ENGINE HOOD FLEW OPEN AND SMASHED WINSHEILD, TOP ROOF , BENT BOTH FENDERS, AND ENGINE HOOD. CAR WENT TO AUTO SHOP FOR REPAIRS. THIS WAS DUE TO SECONDARY HOOD LATCH FAILURE.

I SIMPLY TURNED ON MY CAR WHEN THE RPM AND SPEED GAUGE WENT OUT OF CONTROL FROM 0 TO MAX IN STATIONARY MODE, THE CAR WAS PARKED IN MY GARAGE SPOT. THIS PROCESS OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES IN A ROW, ALONG WITH THIS THE CAR ENGINE WAS EXTREMELY LOUD MAKING ROARING NOISES AND SHUDDERING AND VIBRATIGN. WHEN I PUT MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE PEDAL NOTHING HAPPENED THE CAR CONTINUED WITH THE RPM AND SPEED GAUGE CYCLING FROM 0 TO MAX, I DID NOT FEEL SAFE TO ATTEMPT TO DRIVE THE CAR. LAST MONTH I HAD TO HAVE THE CAR SERVICE BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT ACCELERATE WHILE I WAS ON THE FREEWAY THE MAX SPEED ON THE CAR WAS 30 MILES PER HOUR. I GOT OFF THE HIGHWAY IMMEDIATELY AND THE CAR TURNED OFF WHEN I PARKED IT ON THE STREET. IT TOOK 3 ATTEMPTS TO FINALLY TURN ON. THE CAR DID THIS AGAIN ON A SECOND OCCURRENCE BEFORE I COULD GET IT TO THE DEALER, I WAS DRIVING ON THE STREET AND AGAIN THE SAME ISSUE OCCURRED. THE CAR STALLS, JERKS, VIBRATES ON ITS OWN AT RANDOM TIMES. EACH TIME I HAVE HAD MY PREVENTIVE SERVICES DONE AT THE DEALER THE CAR IS IN NEAR PERFECT CONDITION AND NOTHING CAN BE DIAGNOSED, THEN THE CAR HAS THESE INCIDENTS OCCUR WITH NO WARNING.

FOR 3 YEARS WE HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS PARTICULAR ISSUE, WITH NO RESOLUTION. THE DASHBOARD LIGHT SIGNALING THAT THE PASSENGER AIR BAG IS PROPERLY ACTIVATED FOR AN ADULT OCCUPANT COMES ON OR DOES NOT COME ON WHEN IT IS SUPPOSED TO. THIS OCCURS WHETHER THE CAR IS STATIONARY OR ON THE MOVE. THE DEALER HAS TOLD US NOT TO PUT ANYTHING ON THE PASSENGER SEAT = RIDICULOUS. THE DEALER THEN SAID THAT IT "REPROGRAMMED THE SYSTEM". THEN THE DEALER TOLD US THAT THEY NEEDED TO REPLACE THE SENSOR. I BELIEVE THIS HAS BEEN DONE 2 X. WE LAST HAD THIS ATTENDED TO SEPT 15, 2015 BUT THE "SO-CALLED REPAIR" DID NOT WORK AGAIN. THIS AIR BAG ISSUE IS SERIOUS, AND WE FEEL UNSAFE IN THIS CAR, THEREFORE WE HAVE DRIVEN LESS THAN 2000 MILES IN 5 MONTHS - THE CAR SITS IN THE GARAGE. THE PROBLEM IS INTERMITTANT = WE DON'T KNOW WHEN THE AIR BAG SYSTEM IS FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY - WE MUST ASSUME IT IS MALFUNCTIONING!

WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY MY VEHICLE TURNED OFF. TURNED THE CAR BACK ON JUST FINE. WHEN I PUT IT BACK INTO DRIVE IT TURNED OFF AGAIN. CALLED 911 WHO TRANSFERRED ME TO DPS WHICH HAD TO SHUT ALL 5 LANES OF TRAFFIC TO PUSH ME OFF TO THE SIDE. TOWED CAR TO DEALERSHIP WHICH WRONGFULLY DIAGNOSED WITH A LOW BATTERY KEY FOB. SAME NIGHT AFTER PICKING UP MY CAR IT TURNED OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION AT NIGHT. LUCKILY THIS TIME IT STAYED ON AFTER PUTTING IT IN DRIVE. MY CAR IS STILL UNDIAGNOSED AT THE DEALERSHIP ALMOST A FULL WEEK LATER.

WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON 12/17/15 ON AN ON RAMP TO A HIGHWAY, THE SECONDARY LATCH (RECALL PREVIOUSLY AT DEALERSHIP TO BE REPAIRED 7/2015) FAILED CAUSING THE HOOD TO FLY UP. FILED COMPLAINT WITH NISSAN WHO TOLD US TO TAKE IT TO A DEALERSHIP. WE TOOK IT TO A DEALERSHIP IN WHICH THEY VERIFIED THE SECONDARY LATCH WAS NOT WORKING AND GAVE US AN ESTIMATE OF $3,200 IN DAMAGES. WE ARE STILL WAITING FOR NISSAN TO APPROVE THE REPAIR OF THE LATCH AND DAMAGES. THEY NOW ARE TELLING US THAT THEY HAVE TO SEND AN ADJUSTER TO LOOK AT THE CAR AND THAT COULD TAKE WEEKS. IN THE MEAN TIME, WE ARE DRIVING AN UNSAFE VEHICHLE WITH CHILDREN.

I HAVE RESEARCHED THE ISSUE ONLINE AND FOUND NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS, HOWEVER, NO RECALLS.. I AM SURE NISSAN KNEW OF THE DEFECT PRIOR TO RELEASING THE VEHICLES AND SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONT TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE.

WHICH I THINK SHOULD HAVE BEEN AT LEAST LOOKED AT BECAUSE IF MY VEHICLE WOULD HAVE CAUGHT ON FIRE OR IF I WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT I COULDN'T HAVE GOT OUT OF THE CAR FAST. I WAS ALSO CHARGED FOR THIS REPAIR WHICH NOW I AM FIGHTING WITH NISSAN BECAUSE I AM STILL UNDER BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY. WHICH HAVE ONLY OWNED THE CAR FOR 2 YEARS AND IT DOESN'T HAVE 36,000 MILES ON IT. THEY ARE TELLING ME I HAVE TO PAY BECAUSE OF WEAR AND TEAR. ALSO THE DEALER TOLD THAT I AM THE ONLY PERSON WITH THIS MODEL AND YEAR THAT HAS HAD THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE RESEARCHED THAT IN THE MODELS 2003-2008 HAD THE SAME PROBLEM. I AM FIGHTING BECAUSE THEY HAVE CHARGED ME $114.98 TO FIX THE CABLE BECAUSE NO PARTS ARE ON MY RECEIPT AND MY CONSOLE WAS LOSE AND THEY ALSO CHARGED ME $45 TO TIGHTEN SCREWS. THE DEALER ALSO BLAMED THIS ON ME WHEN MY CAR HAS BE IN THEIR SHOP FOR PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG STAYING ON MANY TIMES , WHEN THEY DID THIS REPAIR MY PASSENGER SIDE SEAT WAS ALWAYS MOVED AND USED WHAT IS TO SAY THEY WEREN'T PUTTING THEIR WEIGHT ON MY CONSOLE. I HAVE OWNED MANY NEW VEHICLES AND NEVER HAD THIS HAPPEN. THIS IS MY THIRD NISSAN AND MY SECOND ONE BOUGHT FROM THIS DEALERSHIP. WHEN CROSSING AN INTERSECTION MY CAR STOPPED AND WOULD NOT GO FOR A FEW SECONDS. I WAS JUST FORTUNATE THERE WERE NO CARS COMING. 2013 NISSAN ALTIMA RECALL NOTICE MALFUNCTION HOOD RELEASE WHICH COULD CAUSE A COLLISION. WELL HAPPENED TO MY DAUGHTER ON AUGUST 9TH, WHO HAD MY PERMISSION TO DRIVE MY CAR SHE BY THE WAY IS 28. I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED OF THIS RECALL, HOWEVER MY FRIEND THAT LEASED THE SAME VEHICLE TWO MONTHS PRIOR AT THE SAME DEALERSHIP, WAS NOTIFIED. MY DAUGHTER WAS JUST GETTING ONTO THE EXPRESSWAY DOING APPROX. 20 MPH IF THAT WHEN THE HOOD OF MY VEHICLE "RELEASED" AND BLEW UP AGAINST THE WINDSHIELD TO WHERE SHE COULD NOT SEE AT ALL. LUCKILY GOD WAS WITH HER AND SHE WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER SAFELY. MY VEHICLE IS STILL AT A NISSAN DEALERSHIP AS OF TODAY, AUGUST 26TH, COLLISION SHOP STILL SITTING IN THE SAME SPOT THAT IT WAS TOWED TO. OVER 6,000.00 IN DAMAGES FOR A RECALL THAT I SHOULD HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED AND NISSAN SHOULD BE PRAYING AND FEELING BLESSED THAT THIS HORRIFIC ACCIDENT AND BELIEVE ME IT WAS HORRIFYING TO SEE THAT PEOPLE WERE NOT KILLED, SHAME ON NISSAN CORPORATION FOR ME NOT RECEIVING THE RECALL NOTICE, SHAME ON NISSAN FOR NOT FIGURING OUT WHEN MY CAR WAS IN FOR SERVICE THAT MY VIN NUMBER SHOWED NOTHING OR IT WAS IGNORED, RECALL NOTICES ARE CONNECTED AUTOMATICALLY TO ANY NUMBERS WHETHER CAR, APPLIANCE, CAR SEATS, ETC., COME ON WE ARE LIVING IN 2015. THE PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON INDICATING THAT THE AIR BAG IS OFF EVEN WHEN THERE IS A PERSON IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. I BROUGHT THIS TO THE ATTENTION OF THE DEALER FIRST ON MAY 28, 2013 AND WAS TOLD THE COMPUTER WAS RESET AND IF I CONTINUED TO HAVE A PROBLEM THEY WOULD INSTALL A NEW SENSOR. WHEN I RETURNED WITH A PROBLEM I WAS TOLD THAT I WOULD NEED TO CONTACT NISSAN CUSTOMER AFFAIRS. I ATTEMPTED TO CONTACT THEM BY PHONE AND THEN SENT A LETTER TO NISSAN CUSTOMER AFFAIRS ON AUGUST 30, 2013. AN ATTEMPT TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM WAS MADE BY THE DEALER ON SEPTEMER 12, 2013 BUT I AM STILL HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE ISSUE. I WAS TOLD THAT EVEN THOUGH THE LIGHT INDICATES THAT THE AIR BAG IS OFF IT WOULD DEPLOY IF THERE WAS AN ACCIDENT. I AM NOT CONVINCED. I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM BUT AS EARLY AS YESTERDAY AUGUST 28, 2014 THE LIGHT WAS ON FOR ALMOST 50 MILES INDICATING THAT THE AIR BAG WAS OFF WHILE MY WIFE WAS SITTING ON THE PASSENGER SEAT.

CAR SHAKES AT 1900 RPM (EVERYTIME YOU PASS BY 1900RPM) AND WHEN STOPPED AT LIGHT (WHEN YOU HAVE BRAKES APPLIED). THIS VIBRATION CAN BE FEELED BY DRIVER & PASSENGER AND WHOLE CAR SHAKES. I HAD IT POINTED OUT DURING THE SERVICING/OIL CHANGES TO NISSAN TECHNICIAN AND ALL I GOT IS "IT IS NORMAL FOR CVT SO CAR WILL VIBRATE". THIS VIBRATION IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS ON AN AVG I DRIVER THE CAR FOR AN HOUR A DAY. AND IF I STOP AT LIGHTS FOR 10 MINUTES ON AN AVG, THEN I AM EXPOSING MY SELF TO THIS VIBRATION FOR THAT MUCH TIME A DAY WHICH IS BAD. ITS SPECIALLY BAD FOR MY LEGS. NISSAN DOES NOT HAVE A FIX AT THE MOMENT FOR THIS ISSUE BUT I EPXECT A BRAND NEW CAR NOT TO VIBRATE AS HORRIBLE AS THIS. MY 10 YEAR OLD CAR WAS MUCH SMOOTHER THEN THIS. THE OVERALL EXPERIANCE IS HORRIBLE AND WILL ADVISE ALL TO STAY AWAY FROM NISSAN BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT ADMITTING THE PROBLEM AND THEY DONT HAVE THE SOLUTION FOR SUCH A PROBLEM. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE WHEN YOU CONSIDER THE EFFECTS ON LONG TERM EXPOSURE AND I FEEL GOVERMENT SHOULD DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

I WAS DRIVING ON I-5 HEADING NORTH FROM OCEANSIDE, CA WHEN THE MOON ROOF SPONTANEOUSLY EXPLODED. THERE WAS NO CONTACT WITH ANY OBJECT WHATSOEVER. THERE WAS FIRST A LOUD BANG, LIKE THE SOUND OF A GUN BEING FIRED AT CLOSE RANGE AND THEN THE GLASS OF THE MOON ROOF FELL ON ME AND INTO THE AUOTMOBILE CABIN..
