The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds at night, the low beam headlights would independently dim. No warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired due to the cost. Upon further investigation, the contact related the failure to Service Campaign Number: PC861; however, the warranty had expired in March 2022. Another local dealer was contacted for a second opinion, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

I am unable to see at night because my headlights are dim but keep passing inspection, and I am afraid I am going to crash... I have complained to my Nissan dealership since the recall was in effect but it has expired and I continuously pass inspection but when I drive at night I have to use high beams and can not see a thing. This is my 4th attempt for help. I almost hit a deer the other night. The lights are so dim that it seems that they are not even on..I have to turn my high beams on just to see and I was warned that I can recieve a ticket for driving with high beams on..I went to the Nissan company and they said there was nothing they could because they didn't honor the recall on the headlight assemblies anymore and I would have to pay $1500 to replace them. I'm disabled and can not afford to do that..what else can Nissan do I am getting ready to get rid of this and advise everyone of Nissan practices.
While driving at night in a poorly lit area, I could barely see. I turned on the high beam but it blinded on coming traffic. I checked into this and found out Nissan was sued for this and had a short (approximately 3 months) period when you could get it fixed for free from the dealership. No recall issued even though Nissan was well aware of this. But when I tried to get it fixed, the dealership did not have the parts. There is only one dealership in Sacramento, so by the time I could get back with them, this repair window was closed. I think this was too short of a repair time for such a safety hazard.

(NOT RELATED TO CURRENTLY OPEN HOOD LATCH RECALL) I’m the current owner of a 2013–2018 Nissan Altima, a model range known for a headlight delamination defect. This issue causes the reflective coating inside the headlamp to degrade, severely reducing light output. It’s a major safety risk for drivers, other motorists, and pedestrians—especially at night. A class action lawsuit acknowledged this and led to a limited repair program. However, I—like many others—only discovered the issue after that window had closed. As a second owner, I reached out to Nissan requesting a “goodwill repair,” which they define as a discretionary repair for issues outside normal coverage. Nissan declined. I was told by Erica on the executive team that goodwill repairs are more likely if there’s a history of maintenance at a Nissan dealership. In other words, if the previous owner spent money at a dealership, Nissan would be more willing to repair a known factory defect. This policy is unfair. Routine maintenance should have no bearing on a company’s responsibility to fix a well-documented safety defect. That logic leaves many current owners—who had no control over previous maintenance decisions—without support. Over 1.5 million affected Altimas are still on U.S. roads, many now in the hands of second or third owners. These drivers may be unaware of the issue or unable to afford repairs for something that should never have occurred in the first place. I’m asking Nissan to re-open the repair program or evaluate on a case-by case basis, considering fairness and safety. This could be offered to anyone who purchased the car after the repair window. Until then, I—and many others—are left to drive with dangerously dim headlights, putting ourselves, our passengers, and the general public at unnecessary risk. This is about more than customer service. It’s about corporate responsibility and public safety.
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed at night, the contact became aware that the headlamps failed to provide adequate illumination. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with both headlamp assembly, observing that the headlamp assemblies had delaminated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
My regular headlights are not bright and cannot see 10 feet in front of my car without my high beams on. I have had my headlights "restored" by professionals and I can still not see in front of my car with my regular running headlights. This has now been an on-going issue and I am unable to drive at night because I cannot see in front of my car and I feel VERY unsafe in doing so. I feel like I am at risk because I cannot see unless my high beams are on and then that puts the oncoming traffic at risk as I am blinding them. I feel like oncoming traffic cannot see my normal headlights and at a risk of getting hit. I fortunately have NOT had any accidents but I cannot drive at night because of this issue. I do not feel safe for myself, my family or other drivers at this point. This has been an on-going issue that seems to be getting worse as the brightness continues to deteriorate as more time goes by.
The head lights don’t illuminate properly and the headlight assembly was never changed. You are more than welcome to inspect them please do. I can’t see at all if normal lights are on only if high beam are. I have been pulled over for riding with my high beams on citing it’s a hazard but when I put my normal lights on I was also pulled over because they couldn’t tell my headlights were on. I could potentially crash or cause a crash trying to drive at night. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by an independent service center. The vehicle has not been inspected by the police or insurance. There were no warning lamps or messages and the problem first appeared in 2023
the headlights are very bad and have to basically drive with the high beams on in order to see because on low beam i almost ran someone over i changed the bulbs a few times but it has not improved any and while changing them that it seems as the bulb burnt something. I have been on the nissan forums and theres many complaints saying that nissan knows something is faulty and they refuse to recall and fix it
Headlight brightness has diminished to levels below safe operation of vehicle in darkness. Changing bulbs, adjusting beam pattern and restoring outer shell of headlight assembly did not increase brightness. Internal reflectors, which cannot be cleaned or replaced, have lost their effectiveness over time. Driver, pedestrian and all other driver’s safety are at risk. Independent observation and multiple video streaming service videos have reported similar issues. The only recourse is assembly replacement at the expense of the consumer.
I purchased my 2015 Nissan Altima in July, 2022 with 56,530 miles on it. At this date it has approximately 71,500 miles on it. I have driven it 14,970 miles in 2.5 years. On [XXX] I was driving home from Thanksgiving in East Brunswick, NJ to my home in South Philadelphia on [XXX] in New Jersey when my car suddenly began to have a slow down in ability to accelerate. I ended up pulling over after a moment of slowing down and not knowing what was happening. When I got to the break down lane, the car stalled. I ended up getting road side assistance to tow me to Ward's Automotive in Mt. Laurel, NJ, where my family and I have brought cars for many years (we used to live in Moorestown, NJ. Ward's ended up telling me the following Monday that my engine was "bad." I have no idea how my engine died after only 71,500 miles on this car! I got oil changes on it every 5,000 miles. I did report to the dealership in December, 2022 that I was hearing weird noises coming from the right front side but they told me they heard nothing. What can I do??? I am still paying for this vehicle (approx. $3,100 left on loan). I did not purchase an extended warranty when I bought it used. I have learned my lesson, but I need help understanding what rights I have. I don't know if there is any Manufacturer's Warranty on the car. Please help me! I take my wife's Nissan Altima (2015) to dealer (Jackie Cooper, Tulsa) regularly and (in 2020) asked them why the headlights were so dim. Told me there was a class action suit ongoing and that we could fix it and wait for the settlement to submit receipts, or we could wait and that they would call when the suit was settled. Was never notified by dealership that we could bring it in to get replaced. Called again to check status (10/24) I found out that the deadline is now passed and we can not get it repaired unless we pay. No dealer notification and because Nissan did not ever inform us, we now need to do it on our own. Unsatisfactory (and expensive). It is a known defect and should have been repaired when we brought it in for regular service. This car is unsafe to drive at night, but not due to anything we have done and it should be fixed since we were not notified. 2015 Nissan Altima with 74478 miles and has always been well cared for. Because this is a know problem, mileage and length of time should not have anything to do with fixing it, ESPECIALLY since they neglected to call us. It is a safety problem. My wife (the driver) is [XXX] and needs headlights that work. I never drive the car but I did last night to get gas. The lights are terrible. Dim and yellowish. I spent 80.00 on a kit to buff out the clear lens but that did little to nothing. THIS IMPACTS SAFETY AND I WANT IT FIXED!!!! Head lights dim; can barely see at night.
The low beam lights on the vehicle are almost non-existent. You have to use high beams for visibility which of course comes with the risk of blinding other drivers. I’ve replaced the headlight housing and still the lighting is poor. I don’t understand why these vehicles weren’t part of a recall after the class action lawsuit showed the lighting to be faulty. This is a serious safety hazard.
The low beam headlights are very dim. I’ve replaced headlight bulbs and tried even clearing headlight lens and still not good visibility
I HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH THE VERY BAD LOW BEAM LIGHTING AT NIGHT. ITS SO TERRIBLE THAT ITS LIKE HAVING NO LIGHTS ON AT ALL AND RIDING WITH THEM ON CONSTANT HIGH BEAMS HAS RESULTED IN ME BEING PULLED OVER ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS BY POLICE BUT ITS ALSO UNSAFE TO ALL OTHER DRIVERS I PASS. THE LOW BEAMS WERE WHY I HAD AN ACCIDENT IN NOV OF 2023. THAT RESULTED IN ME GOING DOWN AN EMBANKMENT HITTING A TREE HEAD ON. FROM THAT ACCIDENT I ALSO LEARNED THE AIR BAGS WERE FAULTY BC THEY DID NOT DEPLOY EITHER. I WAS ONLY INJURED WITH A FEW SCRAPES, BRUISES AND ALOT OF SORENESS BUT IT COULD HAVE BEEN SO MUCH WORSE. I HAVE THE PHOTOS FROM THAT WRECK THAT SHOWS THE DAMAGE BUT ALSO HOW THE AIR BAGS DIDNT DEPLOY AS WELL. I PLAN TO LOOK INTO WHAT OTHER ACTIONS I CAN TAKE AGAINST NISSAN SINCE THEY KNOW THESE ARE ISSUES AND HAVE NOT FIXED THEM. MY CAR WAS MANUFACTURED IN OCTOBER OF 2015. I WAS MAKING A RIGHT HAND TURN WHEN THIS OCCURED BC I COULD NOT SEE BC OF THE LOW BEAM LIGHTS. I WAS ONLY GOING MAYBE 5 MPH. 10 MPH TOPS. PLEASE CONTACT ME WITH QUESTIONS.
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that the front headlights were dim and failed to function as intended. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The contact stated that in the past five years the headlights had been replaced two times. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but provided no assistance. Additionally, the contact was informed that a previous warranty for the repair had expired. The contact was referred to the NHTSA Hotline to report the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
I wasn't aware of the recall on my 2015 Nissan Altima headlights. The headlights on my vehicle are so dim, I am unable to drive at night. I was told the recall has expired for this function, which I never received any notification of the recall. This is very disturbing to know that a recall expires and I do consider this a safety hazard due to not being able to see while driving at night. Can someone please assist me with this recall. I would really appreciate any help due to the fact, it's very expensive to replace a recall item to my vehicle.
I understand there was a voluntary recall and a lawsuit regarding the headlight system on Altimas between 2011-2018. I also understand we were supposed to have received a notification which we never received. We own 3 Altimas that fall into this grouping and never received notification on any of them. The 2015 Altima's lighting is pretty much non-existent. You cannot see at night and it's dangerous. Took it to Carson Nissan and although they were very nice, we were advised that we were too late and there is nothing they can do. It would be very expensive if we fixed at our expense.
I bought a used 2014 nissan altima. The dim lights do not work properly and is dangerous to myself, my familiy and to other drivers approaching me. Visibility is about a cars length, if that. The dealership i bought the car from did not disclose that there had been a lawsuit against nissan for this issue. Someone needs to issue a recall on all these models with defective headlights before someone is seriously injured and I would be surprised to find that there hasn't already been. Im making payments on a car I cannot drive at night. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!!!!!!
Since April 2022 we reached out to Nissan of Vacaville, Ca about the head light recall. Numerous times they've told us that the headlights were not in stock. Now in 2024 they're saying that they are no longer honoring the recall. They report that it has expired. I drive the car mostly at night and the lights do not work properly. It impairs my vision and thereby can cause a wreck that could result in injury or death.
I have a expired recall that was not completed by previous owner. I called company and they refuse to fix my problem because it was expired.
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that the side mirrors adjuster switch was no longer operable. The contact stated that the passenger's side headlight was inoperable. The contact stated that her husband was an independent mechanic, and he replaced the passenger's side headlight bulb. The contact stated that 6 months later, the driver's side headlight became inoperable. The light bulb was replaced; however, the failure persisted. Additionally, the rear passenger's side and front driver's side parking lights, and the front driver's side and passenger's side fog lights became inoperable. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact's husband inspected the headlight fuses and noticed that they were in good condition; however, the contact's husband replaced the headlight fuses, but the failure persisted. The contact's husband determined that the fuse box was overloaded. The contact's husband installed a secondary fuse box under the hood, and connected some of the headlight wires, and the headlights became operable, except for the fog lights. An unknown dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in a recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 35,000.

The Low beams on my headlights are so dim, I have a really horrible time seeing when driving home from work at night ; so bad, that my husband and son tried driving to see for themselves and now worry about me driving at night in my car. I’ve heard numerous complaints about this issue, and I thought there was a recall on this problem .
My car's low beam headlights go dim quickly, if work at all. The bright light beams work as should. At times I must drive with the bright beams on just to see safely. I understand there was a settlement by Nissan, however, my issue did not start until after the settlement was over. I am unable to get my headlights fixed due to the deadline. I might note, I purchased my car right before the deadline, so at that time, it was not having the issues. It is very disappointing that Nissan is aware of the issue, but due to timing of this issue, they will not replace the faulty part.
Air bag light on passenger side stays on and unable to drive vehicle at night due to lights being so dim
Having issues driving vehicle at night time due to headlights being to dim. In order to drive safely i have to turn high beams on. Im concern for my family safety when driving with dim lights at night time.
The low beam headlamps you cannot see at night when you are driving and I just bought this car and ran the VIN for recalls and it says that there is 10 recalls and one of them being problem with the low beam headlights none of these 10 recalls were fixed and I guess the date has passed and now I can't fix them I don't understand how that's fair to me when I just bought the car two three days ago and now I guess there's nothing I can do the headlamps is a severe safety issue I was told by the salesman at the Nissan car lot in Independence Missouri where we bought the car said there was Zero recalls on it
Purchased car from third party late September 2022. Immediately noticed that night driving was nearly impossible to see with headlamps on dim. Going from high beams to low beams is almost like switching to parking lamps. Can’t drive with high beams on when there’s other traffic it poses a hazard to oncoming vehicles. Took the car into Nissan dealership the following week and they told me I missed a deadline on headlight replacement coverage. Only owned the car a week at that time. I swapped out bulbs and had outer covers polished. Still can’t see to drive safely at night. Poses a huge safety risk when night driving is unavoidable. Really wish Nissan would reopen any claims for the dim lighting for those who didn’t know about it before purchasing.

Headlights displaying unsafe night visibility. My wife almost drove off embankment due to low visibility. The vehicle has not been taken to the dealership for inspection yet. At this time my wife tries not to drive it at night. I found through my own investigation about the headlights that there had been a class action suit concerning these headlights on Nissan Altimas, but we have not received any recall notice.
My headlights that came on the vehicle are designed to where you can’t see more than 3ft in front of the car at night. There is a class action lawsuit out over these very headlights. I applied and was approved for headlight replacement but Nissan for some reason can’t fix my issue. I am unable to drive my vehicle at night out of fear that i may injury myself, others or even worse while behind the wheel of this specific vehicle. I just wanted this on record so that my insurance company is off the hook if an accident occurs. These headlight are absolutely 100% useless!!!
My low beam headlights very low ,so low seems like they aren't on,have to drive with high beams on, there was a recall in 2022, that I wasn't made aware of also the control arm front driver and passenger side is cracked and my car has never been wrecked. Brought it brand new off the Nissan dealership lot. Had issues from the start with the interior they call themselves fixing ( but did not).
My vehicle headlights are very dim when driving. I have replace the bulbs and still it is very dim when driving at night. I did not receive a recall for the headlights for my vehicle and when I called the dealership, they said that I received an extension, but I don’t recall getting one. Now that my headlights are very dim when driving at night I’m very concerned for my safety and I had asked them if they would honor the recall and they told me no. because I received an extension. Not sure exactly what that means. Either way there was a recall and I would like to drive in the evening, knowing that I am safe because my headlights are working properly.

Very dim headlights which create issues in less than ideal nighttime conditions.
I have a 2015 Nissan Altima with the headlight delamination recall warranty. The dealership found that my vehicle was affected by faulty headlights. Diagnosed in May of 2022 and was told new headlights would be ordered. It is now March of 2023 and I still cannot drive my vehicle at night due to poor illumination on roadway. This concerns me as a sfety issue that they refuse to expedite, also that they admit was their issue to repair. It should not take 10months to get headlight parts into their dealership. As I mentioned the vehicle is not driveable at night safely. I ask that you look into this issue with the dealership and their lack of support to assist me as an owner. I was always told that the headlights have not come in yet and that I just have to wait. I pray they still honor the warranty work as the warranty period has expired in just waiting for the headlights to arrive. They did diagnose issue and order headlights within the warranty period. I bought 2015 Nissan Altima from Cars Express on 2/17/2023. He breached verabal agreement and will not fix the safety issues. I paid him for the paint job on front bumper and paid for the paint. Witnesses that he would pay then refused pay the paint men so I paid them once vehicle was in my possession front blinkers do not work headlight out. Safety sensor is cut. Air bag light came on and says air bags not on check engine light came on.. I tried to talk to him about safety concerns and I asked to return the vehicle for full payment including the paint and paint job I already paid him. The car was a salvage rebuilt and the hood of the car needed to be aligned that wasn’t done, safety concern is hood might open while I’m driving. He defrauded/scammed me. I’m stuck with an vehicle that is not safe, he does his own repairs which he told me he takes them a mechanic. He buys wrecks and chop shop fixes them. The car was inspected on 1/14/2023 by [XXX]. My car is part of the headlight settlement from a lawsuit against Nissan. I followed the settlement guidelines and took my car to the dealer for assessment. The dealer agreed that my headlights were defective and ordered the replacement set. The low beam headlights on my car are useless at night...often I have to drive with the high beams on to see anything. They are a safety hazard and I cannot believe there are not more accidents because of them. The headlights ordered for my car have not come in at this time. It has been 10 months since they were ordered. The parts department states that Nissan has been very slow to provide the numerous sets of headlights ordered by their dealership. I could replace the headlights on my own because you can buy new oem Nissan headlights online for 600 a pair. If I can buy them new online what is Nissan's hold up sending them out? In the meantime, I am reluctant to drive my car at night for safety concerns. Nissan admitted no wrong doing in the lawsuit and appear to be in no hurry to make it right.
I am the original owner of this 2015 Nissan Altima and I am having difficulty seeing when driving at night. The headlights are very dim. I recently (12/9/22) took my car in for service for a separate recall dealing with the hood latch. I mentioned the issue with the dim lights to them at that time and they inspected my headlights. They inspected my lights and agreed that they were dim and they informed me that the headlight assemblies needed to be replaced. They even provided me a copy of a Nissan Service Campaign (Ref PC861) dealing with halogen headlights dimming due to quality defect on the vehicle causing the delamination of the headlight assembly. However, they told me that it would not be a covered repair because the campaign had expired about 10 weeks prior to my visit. They recommended I call Nissan USA and see if they could help me. I did that and they basically told me No. I spoke to several people in the organization. I feel like this is a safety issue when driving the vehicle at night and since it is a known defect and I am the original owner I believe it should be covered. The cost of the repair is $1,300. I will attach my service department paperwork from 12/9/22 where it states the lights are bad, a copy of the Nissan Service Campaign that the dealership gave me, and a copy of a Class Action Settlement concerning this same issue for your review. I have spoken to Nissan USA several times without success so I am hoping you can help me resolve this problem. I even tried to resolve it through the Better Business Bureau but they are being told by Nissan that the car is outside the warranty. I believe a safety issue like this should be covered outside the original warranty. Thanks in advance for your help.

MY COMPLAINT IS INVOLVING BOTH DRIVERS AND PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHTS. WHILE DRIVING FROM THE EVENING ON INTO NIGHT TIME AND WHILE HAVING MY LIGHTS ON I CAN NOT SEE THE LIGHT IN FRONT OF ME THEY ARE VERY,VERY DIM. SO I HAVE TO RESORT ON PUTTING ON MY HIGH BEAMS WHICH CAUSES ONCOMING MOTORISTS TO BE BLINDED BY MY HIGH BEAM LIGHTS WHICH CAN CAUSE THEM TO LOSE CONTROL OF THIER VEHICLE AND CRASH INTO MINE. I ALSO CAN NOT SEE IF THERE IS ANY PEDESTRIAN IN FRONT OF MY VEHICLE OR A DISABLED VEHICLE IN FRONT OF ME UNTILL I AM WITHIN A FEW FEET FROM THEM. I CAN NOT FOR SAFETY CONCERNS DRIVE MY VEHICLE AT NIGHT.
Headlight assemblies are so dim, even after replacing headlamp bulbs, that the vehicle is unsafe to drive at night. Nissan and dealer are unwilling to correct under the class actio Suarez vs Nissan eventhough vehicle was presented and confirmed needing repair during the time period
I am referring to my 2015 Nissan Altima headlight dimness. The car has been apart of a settlement which i was approved for. The settlements website is listed here: http://www.altimaheadlightsettlement.com/ I have been approved for headlight repair for more than 6months. I purchased the vehicle in December of 2019, without the knowledge of any headlight issues. I work late some times and simply cannot drive this vehicle with its headlights, it is a major safety hazard not only for myself but also for other drivers. Nissan Dealership that i purchased the vehicle at, had approved me for free headlight repair as listed in the settlement, and i had actually gone to the location, they performed an inspection / test and i had qualified for repair. Now it has since been 6+ months with no repair, and no timeline on when headlights will be replaced. I cannot continue to be at risk of driving the vehicle at night with non adequate lighting for myself to see and others to see me. The issue occurred immediately after purchasing the vehicle and has caused me to not be able to drive it at night. The issue as mentioned above, has been confirmed and a settlement has been reached but my problem is, that the settlement has been reached and i've been approved but i keep getting the work around from the dealership putting blame somewhere else and making me wait for new headlights. It is unsafe and wrong.
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while driving at night, the headlights were extremely dim. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact notified the dealer of the failure and confirmed that the failure was a known issue; however, there were no recalls for the failure. The contact was given an estimate for the repair. The manufacturer was also contacted but no assistance was provided. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
I recently purchased a 2015 Nissan Altima for my 17 yr old son as a first time vehicle at a local dealership. Unfortunately and unbeknownst to me, this vehicle had a class action lawsuit in which the deadline ended prior to me purchasing the vehicle for having "halogen headlamps (“Class Vehicles”) defect that causes an interior reflecting surface of the headlamp to deteriorate, resulting in dimming of the low beam headlights". This vehicle is STILL NOT recalled by the manufacturer, Nissan. It puts drivers and passengers in extremely dangerous situations on the road. We have driven this vehicle twice at night and even with the high beams, you can hardly see ahead of you. I am shocked that these vehicles have not been recalled. Because I purchased this vehicle a week ago, I had no idea of the recall and when I looked up the VIN, the deadline passed. I contacted Nissan who said they will not do anything because the deadline of the class action lawsuit passed. I contacted the attorneys for the class action lawsuit who also stated nothing could be done because the deadline passed. So here we are with my son's first vehicle, now having to dish out more money to get this manufacture defect repaired because the manufacturer refuses to accept responsibility and recall these vehicles to repair this issue.
Nissan is aware that there is a problem with the headlights. There was a class action suit against them for this defect. They need to be made to issue a recall. It's very dangerous as the lights are incredibly dim making it difficult to see. I tried to get them repaired by Nissan but I missed the class action suit deadline by 5 days.
This is one of the absolutely worst kind of problems that fundamentally affects the safety of the car when driven at night. Problem: Delamination of the headlight reflective material resulting in severely degraded headlights. A multitude of accounts including at least 2 YouTube videos with many comments confirming the problem state that there is so little light the car is or is next to undrivable at night. This is a MAJOR safety issue which I am currently working around by driving with my high beams on all the time after causing a blowout on the passenger side tire by hitting an object I couldn't see and replacing the halogen with xenon bulbs before I knew what the problem was. I also nearly hit a pedestrian one night. NISSAN settled a class action lawsuit that required NISSAN to notify all owners of 2013-2018 NISSAN Altimas and remedy the problem one of 3 ways but only up to Sept 2022. The website that describes the lawsuit is at http://www.altimaheadlightsettlement.com/case-documents.aspx The problem for me specifically is that because I purchased this car in Sept 2022, I didn't become an owner of the car until the very month the last remedies specified in the class action lawsuit expired. I can say with surety that every 2013-2018 NISSAN Altima not already fixed is a timebomb for potentially fatal accidents of all types hitting any person or object imaginable at night. I question the logic of a time limit for this problem because it will most likely occur depending on how often the car is driven at night. I have just contacted NISSAN USA and they refuse to voluntarily extend the warranty provided under the terms of the class action settlement, but the problem is so extremely bad that there should have been a recall done from the beginning and I hope this case is addressed by the DOT with expedience. Imagine all the Altimas that haven't been fixed which are on the road today at night. Every time it happens, there is a major possibility of death to someone.
Fatally flawed Nissan headlight assembly. The dim low-beam headlights of my 2015 Nissan Altima have been the subject of a class action lawsuit against Nissan. They may or may not have been the subject of a proposed or actual recall. My dealer is now telling me that I missed some deadline under an “inspection recall.” Apparently to confirm whether my headlights are dim or not. My vehicle was in a Nissan service center for other repairs in Jan of 2018 and again in June of 2021, they ran my VIN number. They should have told me there was some arbitrary deadline to meet to fix their fatally flawed headlight assembly. Someone at Nissan consumer affairs tells me that my VIN number isn’t included in the lawsuit/recall. This is irrelevant. My headlights are certainly UNSAFELY DIM. My 17 yr old Toyota and 19 yr old dodge both have brighter headlights than my 7 yr old Nissan. I expect Nissan to do what is right. This is a defective part that will lead to injury. I’m only asking for my vehicle to be safe again. This should be a wide recall with NO arbitrary deadlines. I fear for the safety of my wife and my children.
My headlights are very dim (very dangerous) to the point I can’t see 10 feet when the sun goes down. I never got a recall notice for Nissan 2013-2018 dim headlights. I need Nissan to remedy my car and have the headlamps replaced ASAP since I use the car to drive my elderly parents to their appts because I am their caregiver.
Purchased a used 2015 Nissan Altima 2.5S and discovered that low-beam headlights are very dim. We almost hit a deer due to low visibility. Internet search reveals this is a known problem. We are too late to benefit from the class action lawsuit. A safety recall should be issued.
2015 NISSAN ALTIMA. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARD TO DEFECTIVE DIMMED HEADLIGHTS.
I brought my 2015 Nissan Altima SL additions on local Nissan dealership back in March and I was told nothing was wrong with my last driver side headlamp, and I am experiencing delamination where it’s not so bright, I believe my vehicle has been affected by the recall but now it’s past the recall deadline date
Since I bought my 2015 Nissan Altima, the low-beam headlights have been dangerously dim. I stopped driving at night as I almost hit pedestrians. I'm jeopardizing my safety and others on the road. Installing a new headlight did not change visibility and the Nissan dealership inspected the problem and recommended an "Aftermarket" headlight assembly. There are no warning symptoms or signs of this problem and the vehicle is still equipped with its original headlight housing.
The front headlights of this car do not work properly. It is almost impossible to drive this car at night without always using the high beams - the front headlights do not provide enough light to see the road, people or animals clearly. This is a mayor safety hazard, not only for the driver but also for other vehicles and pedestrians. This is an issue that has taken place since the car was purchased. Therefore we opt not to drive this car at nighttime if we don't have to. I'm reporting it today because we were unable to return to the house before it got dark, and it was very scary to drive without properly lit roads. Thank you for your prompt attention to this issue
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while driving at night, the headlights were extremely dim. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact called the local dealer where the vehicle was diagnosed and it was determined that the headlight assembly needed to be replaced. The parts were on backorder and the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted but no assistance was provided. The approximate failure mileage was 140,335.

Have trouble seeing where I'm going in the dark. Nissan knows about this problem, but says it could take 9 months to get replacement headlight assembly. How did Nissan get away with not getting a safety recall? Did they line the right pockets?
Low beam headlamps very dim causing poor lighting. Had headlamps replaced per law suit settlement agreement. Still problem unresolved. Returned to dealership to complain and was told headlamps pass their testing. Still low beam lamps are so dim its creating a safety hazard, so, I drive with high beams on. Dealership refused to drive my car at night to verify hazard. Dealership told me to buy aftermarket headlamps and they will charge me to install. This issue is not being resolved with the law suit agreement and many consumers are very upset that they are driving around with very low beam lighting.
Received a recall notice from Nissan USA that said headlights could dim below acceptable levels. Took the vehicle into Colonial Nissan in Charlottesville VA in April 2022. Dealership confirmed our car had the problem but said no parts were available. I have checked back every 30 days since then and am always told no parts are available and Nissan can’t say when they will be. We have ceased driving the car at night due to dim headlights.
Dim lights do not provide adequate lighting. Even after replacing bulbs, amour of light given off on dim setting does not provide adequate lighting for safe night driving.
The headlights are too dim to pass safety inspection there has been no recall but there has been s sort of class action lawsuits Why no recall to get the headlights replaced The entire headlight assembly is bad
Low beam headlights on 2015 Nissan Altima are defective and Nissan or dealer are not replacing as needed. This is a safety issue.
Altima Headlight Class Action Lawsuit, issue did not begin to occur until after the deadline of 4/25/22 and did not receive a notice. Headlights are so dim and I have to drive in the dark that this puts myself and others at risk. The Nissan dealership will not look at the headlights until my VIN has been included in the NHTSA database they refer to.
The gear stick gets stuck when trying to shift gears it wont move from Parking, headlights seem to not give enough lighting when on, I have replaced the transmission after 3years of having the vehicle, I still owe on the loan and the vehicle still shakes when driving over 80mph on the freeway. I dont currently have any warning lights on the vehicle. I have taken the vehicle many times for repairs for the same complaint that the vehicle shakes when driving it and the problem still has not been resolved. I already spent a lot of money on trying to fix the problems.
Nissan has a recall for headlamps, i am an owner of a make and model and year of said recall, and have attempted to have headlamps corrected; dealership says i won’t receive the remedy. I cannot see with the current headlight and it is a safety issue.
Headlamps are very dim took vehicle for headlamps replacement, according to the dealership headlamps are okay. I am driving at night with basically no headlamps which makes it a safety hazard for me and other motor vehicles drivers.
HEADLIGHTS LOW BEAMS DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY, YOU CAN HARDLY SEE THE ROAD AT NIGHT, AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS THE BULBS, BUT I WENT TO BUY SOME LED LIGHTS TO SEE IF IT WORKED BETTER BUT IT DID NOT, I EVEN PAID FOR MY HEADLIGHTS TO BE POLISHED, BUT DID NOT SEE ANY CHANGE, I LOOKED FOR INFORMATION AND THERE WAS A LAW SUE AGAINST NISSAN FOR THE HEADLIGHTS, THEY FIND OUT THAT THE CHROME INSIDE THE LIGHT GETS DETERIORATED WITH TIME AND THAT CAUSES THAT THE LIGHT GET BLURRED,AND THE ONLY SOLUTION IS TO BUY NEW HEADLIGHTS, WHICH I DONT THINK IS FAIR SINCE IS A MANUFACTURE PROBLEM AND NOT A WEAR AND TEAR ISSUE, PLUS IS A SAFETY ISSUE SINCE YOU CAN NOT SEE CLEARLY AT NIGHT WHENYOU DRIVE.

The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving approximately 15 MPH at night, the visibility of the roadway was difficult to see due to the low-beam headlights not providing adequate illumination. The contact used the hi-beam headlights for better visibility while driving. The contact also stated that the air bag warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 115,000.

Driver side head light is defaulted does not reflect there for you are blind at night . I was pulled over by the cops and they told me that the next time I’m driving at night I will get a ticket…
My vehicle is part of the class action suit for Nissan Altima headlamp assemblies. I have gone through the proper channels with Nissan. In the interim I have had a bulb go out. At this point my car is dangerous to drive after dark and I must drive with high beams on. Nissan will not do anything to help except to say that I am on the list. I avoid driving after dark as much as possible, but some times it is absolutely necessary. Nissan is being negligent in this by not offering any solution and not being willing to help with the replacement bulb or trying to expedite the replacement of my headlamp assemblies. If there is an accident due to the state of the headlamps I will take legal action against Nissan.
Nissan Altima headlights do not work effectively and barely illuminate the roadway. Recall was issued for headlight replacements months ago. Car was brought to dealership months ago for headlight inspection and approved for headlight replacements. Multiple phone calls have been made to find out when the actual headlight replacement will occur but still have not received an answer to if/when headlights will be replaced. Have tried replacing headlight bulbs with 3 different brands/types of bulbs and none of them make a difference with the brightness of headlights.
There was a class action lawsuit for the highlights on my Nissan. The first week of April 2022 we had the highlights check by a Nissan Dealer. We were told that it is included in the Lawsuit and that they would replace the highlights. They had to order them and would call when the came in. It has been two months and they keep saying the replacement highlights has not come in. I call the parts department and was told that I could come in and pay for them. Then they could have them next day. Call the service department and was told again that our car is on a waiting list for the highlights. They don't know when they will well have the replacement highlights. The car can not be driven at night without the high lights on. We were pull over one night for riding with the highlights on oncoming vehicles and told that it is not safe to drive the car until the lights are fixed.
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that the driver's side headlight was becoming significantly dim. The dealer was notified of the failure and diagnosed that the driver's side headlight bulb needed to be replaced. The dealer notified the manufacturer for repair assistance and was awaiting a response. The contact also notified the manufacturer. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 44,000.

I received a class action lawsuit settlement for the headlights of my Nissan Ultima when I contacted the dealership they said there is a no contest I don’t know what that means but I know I was supposed to receive replacement headlights due to my headlights being so dim It’s hard to see while driving at night and is really a safety hazard Nissan is not Honering the settlement
I took my vehicle in for the light delamination recall. In the last year I have had to replace my headlamps with with three different types headlights because you cannot see at night with the lights on. None of them worked. I order to see at night I have to drive with my brights on otherwise nothing is visible. The Nissan service department denied the recall stating there wasn’t an issue. But prior to my appointment they stated they were out of parts.
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed at night, the headlights failed to illuminate as needed. The vehicle previously had the headlights replaced on three separate occasions by an independent mechanic; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer; however, the dealer could not duplicate the failure and declined to perform Manufacturer Campaign Number: PC861 associated with the VIN. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 116,000.

HEAD LIGHTS ARE VERY DIM
The Headlights are so dim and cause me to be unable to see the road and makes it non driveable at night time.
Lowbeams on car are dangerous hen driven at night. Can hardly see 10 feet in front of car
I purchased this car second hand and the headlamps have been very dim since purchasing the vehicle. These are available for inspection. I cannot see without my bright lights on, even on moderately lit roadways. Driving with dim headlights is dangerous for me (as well as others) and driving with my brights on is dangerous to others. I received a letter regarding a class action on the headlamps and scheduled an appointment for replacement referencing the letter when I scheduled. When I arrived for my appointment I asked if I pay out of pocket and and am reimbursed? I was told no, they would do a spray test, and if failed, Nissan would replace. When I picked up my vehicle I was told the headlamps passed, to my extreme surprise. My invoice states “sprayed headlights with Nissan glass cleaner, headlight pattern ok”. No test was mentioned in the class action letter. I was told to contact 1-800-Nissan1 if I had a problem. I called and Nissan was apathetic. I called the number on the class action letter and was unable to speak to a person. This problem has been evident since purchasing the vehicle. Nissan refuses anything is wrong and my vehicle is practically inoperable at night.

I am not able to see the road correctly when I drive. I thought it was my vision so I bought stronger glasses but it was not working. Its the light bulb in car is soooo dim. Also the front window fogs up to the point of having a car accident. I have to have the window open and even on cold days to be able to see. If it rains I cant see at all. I have to put the AC on it so I can see. Its a nightmare to drive at night. Please help. This has been such a difficult thing to drive with at night. Thank you. I do love my car.
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while driving at 40 MPH, the headlights were not bright enough to view the road causing her view to be obstructed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 17,000. .

The headlights are so dim due to delamination, it's a serious safety Hazzard because you cannot see more than four feet in front of you at night. I try to avoid driving at night like the plague. I've read where people have had accidents and have been pulled over by the police because the light output is way too low. I'm also aware of Suarez vs Nissan lawsuit due to this issue.
I have a 2015 Nissan Altima that was purchased brand new in 2016. Over the past few years the headlights have become very dim. It looks like the lights are not on while driving at night. You can barely see the lights on the road which makes it a safety hazard. It's even worse when it's raining or foggy outside. I've taken my car to the dealer a couple of times for them to check out the lights and replace the bulbs. They told me that replacing the bulbs wouldn't do any good and that the headlamp assembly will need to be replaced. Recently I received correspondence in the mail in regards to a class action lawsuit against Nissan for the defective headlamps. The same issue I'm having with dim lights caused by delamination of the reflective surface inside the headlamp assembly. I took my car back to Nissan and told them about the lawsuit which directs Nissan to replace the headlamp assembly. The Nissan dealer inspected the headlamps and did some kind of test and told me that my headlamps are fine and didn't meet the criteria that Nissan gave them to replace the headlamps. This is still an issue with my vehicle and it is still a hazard to not be able to see the lines on the roads while driving at night. I've also talked to the Nissan Consumer Affairs but they didn't offer me any solutions other than to call the number for the Nissan Settlement Administrator. No one answers the phone and I only get the recorded messages with information about the lawsuit that I already got from the website.

The low beam headlights on my 2015 Nissan Altima S are dangerously dim. I can barely see the road at night unless I have my high beams on. I have replaced the bulbs with high performance bulbs and there was no improvement. I cleaned the headlight covers with no improvement. I have read online that this is a problem with 5th generation Nissan The low-beam headlights in the 5th generation Altima are dangerously dim. The reflective material inside the projector headlights can wear down, drastically reducing the beam's power In December of 2018 this problem ranked 10th in CarComplaints.com top problem trends list.
dim headlights are very, very dim
Headlights have become so dim I nearly ran off of the road. When it rains at night I have to pull over because the factory headlights do not supply enough light to drive on the roadway.
Headlights are excessively dim and do not effectively light the roadway. Replacing the bulbs does not remedy the situation.
The headlights on my 2015 Altima are so very dim. It is as if they are not even on. All passengers that ride in my car ask if my headlights are on when they are in the car. I started to notice this dimming about 2018/2019. I took my car to the dealership where I was told (the first time) that I must have put too bright of headlights in the unit. (Which is not the case as I know it takes H-11). The next time I took it to the dealership they told me that they are dim because my windshield has tint on it. (Which I know was not the cause as I tinted the windows and windshield shortly after purchasing my Altima). The next and last time o took it to the dealer they said it was the housing that was cloudy (from the inside of the headlight). I was told my only option was to replace the whole headlight units for about $1,300.00. That was a hard NO since I was not responsible for any of these issues. So I decided to get fog lights installed. Even looked into getting LED headlights. The LED headlights made no difference in visibility. The fog lights help very little. But a little is better than nothing. And that only cost around $200.00 at a mom and pop shop. Way more affordable than replacing both headlight units. So the shop I took my Altima to informed me that the projection piece of the headlights was the actual problem. That my only option was to replace the entire fixture. (Of course the mom and pop shop would do it for wayyyy less but still an expensive repair I didn’t want to have to do. I felt eventually enough 2015 Nissan Altima owners would complain and this would turn into a recall. My car is available for inspection, has been inspected by Nissan’s OWN certified mechanics, and then also by another shop. The visibility is so poor I’m afraid to drive at night. I’m afraid of hitting an animal or even a person! I can’t see pot holes to avoid them. And I can’t just go around driving with my high beams on! This needs fixing ASAP! Unacceptable! 2nd Nissan I have purchased
Head lights, very dim/low visibility. Marker/daytime running light went out. I’ve been having to use high hi beams at nights because my low beams are very dim which can be a safety concern for other drivers as well as not being able to see more than 10 feet in front of me. The AC E knob also stays on when trying to turn it off and does not start the compressor to make the air cold
The headlights on dim only project 5-10 feet, thereby forcing the driver to use bright lights at all times. This problem was first noted in December, 2018 and again the summer of 2019 when another driver used the car. I do not generally drive at night. However, other family members are now greatly concerned as the problem has only deteriorated. Headlights were restored this summer at the dealership and bulbs were replaced in September. Bulbs were then replaced with high intensity bulbs. Neither attempt to fix this problem has helped in any way.
The low beam headlights are not bright enough to see clearly at night. Replaced both low beam bulbs with HID bulbs and they are still too dim to drive safely at night.
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Altima. The contact stated the driver's side low-beam headlight was inoperable. The driver used the hi-beam headlights while driving the vehicle. I believe the headlights need to be recalled & re-done due to you cannot see to drive the car very well at all at night. I purchased this car in April 2021 & I have had this issue since I bought this car. I have had it inspected by the dealership auto garage & they did check & said there was no recalls in the headlights so I would like the whole headlight be replaced before I have a major accident due to not being able to see the road ways at night. There are no warning lights on so this is just a poor design in the headlights! Please replace!!!!!
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving at nighttime, he was unable to see the road while using the low-beam headlights. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 169,000.

Purchased vehicle used. Test drive prior to purchase was at daytime. The first time vehicle was driven at night the low beam lights were noticeably dim. Had to switch to high beams in order to adequately see enough to safely drive. Research indicates this is a know issue with this year model.
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving at various speeds at night, the headlights low beam did not function properly, and the contact had to use the high beam to see the road ahead. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but the contact could not recall the diagnosis. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that the vehicle was out of warranty and did not provide financial aid. The failure mileage was unknown.
In the dark, low beam headlights are too dim. I have to use high beams all the time, causing other drivers to have limited visibility due to high beams being on.
The headlights were so dim that I basically could not see at night. Replacing the bulbs did not help. This is a significant safety issue.
There was no incident, but the halogen projector beam headlamps have become progressively more dim over time due to a manufacturing defect which caused delamination and degradation of the reflective surfaces within the headlamp assembly. The problem has gotten so severe that it is unsafe to drive the car at night because of reduced visibility due to the dim headlamps. This is NOT due to hazy or cloudy plastic lenses of the headlamp housing, which is common to all vehicles with plastic lenses. My lenses are still clear and even in vehicles I've driven with very cloudy lenses, the lamps are much brighter than mine. Apparently, this is a widespread issue with these Nissan Altima halogen projector beam headlamps. Nissan has refused to acknowledge this problem. This is a life safety issue that should be addressed by a recall. Please provide a complaint number or confirmation of this report in the event that an incident related to this issue should arise which may require litigation.
The headlights are not bright which causes it to be difficult to see. Also headlights keeps going out with constant replacement of bulbs. The headlights ballast are not durable
My concern is the headlights when driving at night. I have been stopped twice because od dim headlights.
Just purchased this car used from a dealer. Upon driving it at night I’ve found the low beam headlights are significantly dim. This is a serious safety concern.after doing research on this issue I’ve found that the reflector bulbs inside the headlight assy burn off the reflective coating thereby rendering the bulbs ability to broad at light very poor.
The lights on the vehicle are too dim which are a safety hazard, making it difficult to see at night.

The dim headlights are a safety issue. I can't see how to drive at night or in the evening. I have to turn bright lights on, and it is putting other drivers at risk. Nissan is aware of this issue and wants to say that if you are out of your basic warranty you may not be able to get the light repair under goodwill. This is not the fault of their customers and they should be responsible for their additional money-making tactics. I have owned many vehicles and have never had this issue. I am not the only person who is experiencing this problem. I do not have the $1250 they are requesting to get my headlights repaired so they stuck two dim headlight bulbs in, and I still can't see. This is a dangerous issue for me and other drives. I want them to repair this issue. I just paid off my car this month $30,000 with no late payments. They should be happy to repair this safety issue. I checked for a recall and I see that there is a current investigation regarding dimming headlights for 2013-2019 Nissan Altima's. The vehicle was inspected, and they want me to pay. The vehicle was inspected, and they want me to pay. It is not fair that I have paid all that money and can't drive my car at night.
The headlight assemblies "chrome" reflective material for the low beam bulbs has faded and blackened. This has resulted in very low light being emitted from the low beam light setting. This is a very dangerous problem that Nissan needs to address.
MY PROBLEMS STARTED ABOUT 2 YEARS AGO WHEN I WAS HAVING SOME DIFFICULTY TURNING IN DARK INTERSECTIONS AT NIGHT. I COULDN'T SEE WELL ENOUGH TO COMFORTABLY NAVIGATE THE INTERSECTION. NOW IT IS SO BAD THAT I HAVE TROUBLE ON DARK CITY STREETS AT NIGHT SEEING UPCOMING CURVES, INTERSECTIONS, OR ANYTHING OUT MORE THAN ABOUT 20' OUT. TURNING ON BRIGHT LIGHTS FIXES THE VISIBILITY PROBLEM, BUT OF COURSE CAUSES ADDITIONAL ISSUES FOR ONCOMING TRAFFIC. I THOUGHT PERHAPS I HAD EYE PROBLEMS AND HAVE BEEN TO AN OPHTHALMOLOGIST TWICE AND THEY FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH MY NIGHT VISION. I HAVE NO ACCIDENT REPORT OR POLICE REPORTS TO ADD TO MY CONCERN YET. GUESS YOU WILL JUST NEED TO TRUST THAT WHAT I'M DESCRIBING IS A SAFETY CONCERN THAT DESERVES YOUR ATTENTION. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP WITH THIS ISSUE.

THE HEAD LIGHTS BARELY WORKS AT NIGHT. IT LOOKS AS IF I DON;T HAVE THEM ON. GET A LOT OF COMPLAINTS FROM PEOPLE. AFTER MEETING ANOTHER CAR YOU HAVE TO STOP AT NIGHT. I HAVE 2006 NISSAN SENTRA NEVER HAD THIS PROBLEM.
REGARDING MY 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA...THE HEADLAMPS ARE A SAFETY HAZARD. FAR TOO DIM! I AM CONSTANTLY ASKED BY PASSENGERS IF I HAVE MY LIGHTS ON. TO BE SAFE, I NEED TO USE MY HIGH BEAMS; WHICH IN ITSELF IS NOT SAFE, HOWEVER SINCE ONCOMING DRIVERS RARELY FLASH THEIR HIGH BEAMS BACK AT ME, I ASSUME THEY AREN'T VERY BRIGHT EITHER. COMPLAINTS LIKE THIS FOR THIS CAR ARE ALL OVER THE INTERNET AND I HAVE A HARD TIME BELIEVING IT HASN'T BEEN BROUGHT TO YOUR ATTENTION. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ON THIS. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. THIS ISN'T A MATTER OF CHANGING THE BULBS. I'M NO MECHANIC, BUT IT SEEMS TO BE A PROJECTOR ISSUE CAUSING MANY OWNERS TO REPLACE THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY. SINCE THIS ISN'T A COSMETIC ISSUE, BUT SAFETY, WHY HAS THIS NOT BEEN RECALLED? IT SEEMS TO AFFECT 2013 THROUGH 2015 MODELS THE MOST. SINCE THERE IS NO DATE TO REPORT, AND THIS FORM REQUIRED ONE FOR COMPLETION, I AM PUTTING JANUARY 1ST 2015 AS A DATE.
THE HEADLIGHTS IN THE CAR ARE EXTREMELY DIM, CAUSING A MAJOR ISSUE WITH VISIBILITY AT NIGHT. THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUE SINCE 2016 AND I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE BRAND NEW IN 2015 AND HAVE BEEN THE SOLE OWNER OF THE VEHICLE. I COMPLAINED TO THE DEALER ABOUT THE LACK OF VISIBILITY AT DARKNESS AND THEY REPLACED THE BULBS, WHICH DID NOT CHANGE ANYTHING. I WAS INSTRUCTED BY THE DEALER THAT IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THE PROJECTOR LENS, NOT THE BULBS. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN REPORTED IN THE 2013 - 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA'S, YET NISSAN HAS NOT RECALLED IT. I FEAR THIS ISSUE WILL CAUSE A TERRIBLE ACCIDENT.
LIGHT ARE NOT BRIGHT ENOUGH TO EVEN SEE AT NIGHT DRIVING ON DIM, HAVE TO DRIVE WITH HIGH BEAM ON WHICH IS VERY DANGEROUS
HELLO, I DRIVE A 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA. I'M WRITING BECAUSE I BELIEVE THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY ON THIS VEHICLE ARE DEFECTIVE. THEY'VE QUICKLY CORRODED AND DO NOT PROVIDE THE PROPER LIGHTING FOR SAFE DRIVING AT NIGHT. THE LIGHTING IS EXTREMELY DIM, AND HAZY AT ALL TIMES. I OFTEN HAVE TO USE MY FOG LIGHTS TO DRIVE AT NIGHT WHICH ARE BRIGHTER THAN MY HEADLIGHTS. IF I'M ABLE TO WITHOUT IMPACTING ANOTHER DRIVERS VISION I HAVE TO DRIVE WITH HIGH BEAMS. I AM A 22 YEAR OLD WITH 20/20 VISION SO THEREFORE THE ISSUE IS NOT MY OWN VISION OR MOTOR SKILLS. I HAVE REPLACED BOTH HEADLIGHTS 2 TIMES IN THE PAST YEAR WITH HIGH GRADE HEADLIGHTS AND IT HAS MADE ZERO DIFFERENCE. I ALSO SEE THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS GENERATION OF NISSAN ALTIMA'S. THE VEHICLE HAS THIS ISSUE AT ALL TIMES.
Mileage: 50,000
EXTREMELY LOW VISBILITY. BO MATTER HOW MANY TIMESBIVE CHANGED OR ADJUSTING MY HEADLIGHTS/BULBS THERE IS NO IMPROVEMENT AT ALL. I FINALLY CHANGED THE ENTIRE HEADLIGHT ITSELF AND NOW I CAN FINALLY SEE 2 FEET IN FRONT OF WHEN ITS DARK OUT. NISSAN USED HORRIBLE QUALITY HEADLIGHTS AT THE COST OF DRIVER SAFETY.
Mileage: 22,000
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY DIM. HONESTLY I CAN'T REMEMBER IF THEY WERE EVER GOOD WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR BRAN NEW. NO MATTER WHAT LIGHT BULB I PUT IN THERE DOESN'T MAKE A DIFFERENCE THEY ARE DIM.
Mileage: 45,000
HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY DIM, CHANGED THE BULBS TWICE, STILL DIM. ALSO, FUEL PUMP WENT OUT.
DIM LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS THE LOW BEAM HEAD LIGHTS ARE VERY DIM AND IT HAS HAPPENED PROGRESSIVELY. REPLACING THE BULB DOES NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE AND NECESCETATES DRIVING WITH THE HIGH-BEAM HEAD LIGHTS, WHICH IS DANGEROUS FOR OTHER DRIVERS.
AT NIGHT TIME I NOTICED MY LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS WERE EXTREMELY DIM. LIKE ALMOST CAN'T EVEN SEE THE ROAD DIM WITHOUT SITTING RIGHT AGAINST MY STEERING WHEEL. SO I TURN MY HIGH BEAMS ON TO SEE IF THEY WERE DIM TOO BUT THOSE WERE NORMAL. I REPLACED THEM ALL WITH LED AND THE PROBLEM STILL WAS NOT RESOLVED. I DRIVE AT NIGHT WITH MY HIGH BEAMS ON UNTIL I MEET AN ONCOMING VEHICLE AND THEN I USUALLY CAN'T EVEN SEE THE ROAD UNLESS MY BRIGHTS ARE ON(WHICH IS A SAFETY CONCERN FOR THEM AS WELL). IN THE CITY, MY LIGHTS DO NOT EVEN APPEAR THAT THEY ARE ON AT ALL
Mileage: 89,000
HEADLIGHT OUTPUT DANGEROUSLY DIM; CAN HARDLY SEE AT NIGHT. WHEN DRIVING ON ROADS WITHOUT STREETLIGHTS NEED HIGH BEAMS ON TO AVOID COLLIDING WITH ANYTHING
Mileage: 59,000
LIGHTS ARE VERY DIM AT NIGHT AND I HAVE TO USE MY BRIGHTS WHICH IS VERY DANGEROUS.
THE HEADLIGHTS FOR THIS VEHICLE ARE EXTREMELY DIM AND UNSAFE WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT! THEY ARE SO DIM THAT OTHER ONCOMING CARS WILL FLASH THEIR HEADLIGHTS AT ME THINKING I AM USING RUNNING DAYLIGHTS OR HAVE NO LIGHTS ON AT ALL!! I CANNOT SEE THE ROAD WELL AT NIGHT AT ALL AND AM FORCED TO USE THE HIGH BEAMS FOR SAFETY! I ORIGINALLY BELIEVED THAT THE ISSUE WAS THE BULBS THEMSELVES AND I HAVE REPLACED THEM TWICE WITH NO RESOLUTION TO THE ISSUE. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE LITERALLY OFF THE SHOWROOM FLOOR WITH 9 MILES ON IT, IN FEB 2016. THE FIRST BULB REPLACEMENT WAS ON 2.16.2019, AND I HAVE DOCUMENTATION SUPPORTING THAT REPLACEMENT. THE SECOND REPLACEMENT WAS ON 2.22.2020, WHICH I DID MYSELF AS THE COST OF THE LABOR WAS TOO HIGH. THIS ALSO DID NOT RESOLVE THE ISSUE. WHEN I REACHED OUT TO THE DEALERSHIP THAT SOLD ME THE VEHICLE, THEY ADVISED THAT IT WAS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE PROJECTOR REFLECTIVE FINISH INSIDE THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY. THEY STATED THAT NISSAN WAS WELL AWARE OF THE ISSUE, HOWEVER THEY HAVE NO PLANS ON A SAFETY RECALL AND MY ONLY SOLUTION IS TO REPLACE THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY, FOR A WHOPPING $880! NISSAN NEEDS TO OWN UP TO THIS SAFETY HAZARD AND TAKE CARE OF ITS CONSUMERS. I HAVE BEEN A LOYAL NISSAN CUSTOMER - HAVE PURCHASED FOUR VEHICLES WITHIN 6 YEARS - ALL NEW AND THIS IS HOW I AM TREATED? HOW EVERYONE WITH THE SAME VEHICLE AND ISSUE IS TREATED? THERE IS A CLASS ACTION INVESTIGATION HAPPENING RIGHT NOW OVER THIS ISSUE, ANYONE WHO HAS NOT SHARED THEIR EXPERIENCE, NEEDS TO DO SO!
Mileage: 84,972
HEADLIGHTS EXTREMELY DIM HARD TO SEE DRIVING AT NIGHT
Mileage: 83,000
MY LOW BEAMS ARE SO LOW IT DOES NOT LOOK LIKE THEY ARE ON AT NIGHT. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE. IF I DRIVE THE VEHICLE AT NIGHT I HAVE TO USE MY HIGH BEAMS WHICH IS NOT SAFE FOR OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD. I LIVE IN FLORIDA & IT RAINS A LOT. I CAN'T SEE WITH MY LOW BEAMS AND OTHER DRIVERS CAN NOT SEE ME. I AM AFRAID I MAY GET IN AN ACCIDENT IF ONLY USING MY LOW BEAMS OR RECEIVE A TICKET FOR DRIVING WITH MY HIGH BEAMS.
Mileage: 40,000
I CANNOT RECALL THE EXACT DATE, BUT LATE 2018/EARLY 2019, WHILE DRIVING DOWN A RESIDENTIAL STREET I NOTICED HOW DIM MY HEADLIGHTS WERE. BEING THAT MY CAR IS A 2015 MODEL, I NAIVELY EQUATED IT TO AGE AND LIGHTBULB DIMNESS; WHICH WAS NOT THE CASE. I SWAPPED HEAD LIGHT BULBS, TO NO AVAIL; I OPTED FOR THE MOST EXPENSIVE HEAD LIGHT BULB IN AUTOZONE, BUT STILL HELLA DIM. IN MY MOST RECENT VISIT TO SHEEHY NISSAN SERVICE, A RECOMMENDED SERVICE IS TO "REPLACE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY/BAD REFLECTIONS." IN ADDITION TO THE SERVICE BEING RECOMMENDED, I WAS INFORMED THAT IT HAS BEEN A PROBLEM VOICED TO SERVICE TECHS BY MANY OTHER 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA OWNERS.
I BOUGHT MY 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA WITH 3000 MILES. PRACTICALLY BRAND NEW IN 0CTOBER THAT SAME YEAR. ABOUT A YEAR AFTER I NOTICED MY HEADLIGHTS WERE NOT AS STRONG AS THEY WERE BEFORE. I FIGURED THE BULBS WERE BEGINNING TO BURN OUT. SO I UPGRADED THEM TO AN LED H11 BULB AS THAT IS THE BULB THE MANUAL SAYS IS REQUIRED. THESE BULBS WERE NOT OVERLY EXPENSIVE BUT THEY WEREN'T CHEAP EITHER. I DID A LOT OF RESEARCH BEFORE BUYING. ABOUT ANOTHER YEAR LATER. THEY BEGAN TO GO DIM AS WELL. AT THIS POINT IT'S 2018 AND I CANNOT DRIVE AT NIGHT ANYMORE. REPLACING THE ASSEMBLY THROUGH NISSAN WHICH THEY RECOMMEND BUT WILL NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THIS PROBLEM WOULD COST ME ABOUT $1000+THEIR TAXES. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE WITH THIS VEHICLE ON THE ROAD. VISIBILITY AT NIGHT IS ABOUT CLOSE TO ZERO. I CAN'T EVEN PICK UP MY FAMILY AND GO ANYWHERE BECAUSE IT JUST ISN'T SAFE TO DO SO. I HAVE TO MAKE TRIPS DURING THE DAYLIGHT AND BEFORE IT GETS DARK TO AVOID DRIVING DANGEROUSLY INTO THE NIGHT. I WEAR GLASSES AND CONTACTS AND I USE OTHERS DRIVING NEAR AND THEIR HEADLIGHTS TO SEE BETTER THAN MY OWN CAR. THAT IS RIDICULOUS. I HAVE CALLED NISSAN TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE AND THEY WANT TO RUN A DIAGNOSTIC AND POSSIBLY REPLACE THEM FOR OVER $1200 WHICH INCLUDES THE DIAGNOSTIC. THEY NEED TO BE LOOKED INTO QUICKLY BECAUSE MY VEHICLE IS ALMOST PAID OFF FOR BUT IS TOO DANGEROUS TO EVEN DRIVE ANYMORE. IT'S A CHEAPLY MADE VEHICLE AND IT SHOULD BE ILLEGAL FOR THEM TO PUT SOMETHING ON A MARKET LIKE THIS. HOW HAVE THERE BEEN NO RECALLS YET FOR THIS? THIS IS A DIRECT VIOLATION OF THE NHTSA.
Mileage: 9,000
DIM HEADLIGHTS ON LOW, MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE SAFELY AT NIGHT. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THESE HEADLIGHTS
THE HEADLIGHTS ON DIM ARE NOT BRIGHT ENOUGH TO EVEN DRIVE AT NIGHT. I HAVE TO USE HIGH BEAMS TO EVEN SEE THE ROAD.
Mileage: 99,000
THE DIM HEADLIGHTS ARE EXTREMELY DIM, ALLOWING ME NOT TO DRIVE SAFELY AT NIGHT UNLESS I HAVE MY HIGH-BEAMS ON. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR OVER A YEAR NOW. I'VE REPLACED THE HEADLIGHTS WITH NO IMPROVEMENT.
LOW BEAMS HAVE DEGRADED TO AN UNSAFE SITUATION. I CANT SAFELY SEE AT NIGHT WITHOUT HIGH BEAMS. SHOULD BE RECALLED. THIS APPEARS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS.
Mileage: 150,000
HELLO, I DRIVE A 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA S WITH 115,000 MILES ON IT. THE OTHER NIGHT I WAS PULLED OVER FOR NOT HAVING MY HEADLIGHTS ON. THE THING IS, MY HEADLIGHTS WERE ON. MY HEADLIGHTS ARE SO INCREDIBLY DIM (AS A RESULT OF A FACTORY DEFECT IN MY VEHICLE) THAT THE POLICE OFFICER BEHIND ME COULDN'T TELL THAT THEY WERE ON. I WAS GIVEN A WARNING AND TOLD THAT I NEED TO ADDRESS THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE TRIED TO ADDRESS THIS ISSUE IN THE PAST. I'VE BEEN TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP TWICE ABOUT THIS, BOTH TIMES I WAS TOLD THAT THIS IS A WELL KNOWN ISSUE BUT THERE IS NOTHING THAT CAN BE DONE BESIDES CHANGING THE ENTIRE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY. EVEN IF I DO, I WAS TOLD, THIS PROBLEM WILL LIKELY HAPPEN AGAIN. THE PLASTIC THAT IMMEDIATELY SURROUNDS MY HEADLIGHT IS CHEAP, AND AS IT HEATS UP, IT PRODUCES A GAS THAT FOGS UP THE ENTIRE HEADLIGHT. THE LEFT HEADLIGHT IS COMPLETELY USELESS AND THE RIGHT ONE I HAVE AROUND 3 FEET OF VISIBILITY. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING SINCE MY CAR HAD 25,000 MILES ON IT AND I AM FED UP WITH IT. IT IS TOO DANGEROUS FOR ME TO DRIVE AT NIGHT WITHOUT MY HIGH BEAMS ON. I KNOW THIS IS HAPPENING TO LOTS OF OTHER PEOPLE TOO. HERE ARE SEVERAL ARTICLES I FOUND AFTER 30 SECONDS OF SEARCHING ON GOOGLE: HTTPS://WWW.NISSANCLUB.COM/THREADS/HEADLIGHTS-TOO-DIM-CANT-SEE-SOLUTION.508866/ HTTP://WWW.NISSANPROBLEMS.COM/ALTIMA-PROJECTOR-HEADLIGHTS/ HTTPS://WWW.CARCOMPLAINTS.COM/NISSAN/ALTIMA/2015/LIGHTS/HEADLIGHTS_ARE_TOO_DIM.SHTML HERE IS A CLASS ACTION INVESTIGATION ON THIS ISSUE: HTTPS://CHIMICLES.COM/NISSAN-ALTIMA-DIM-HEADLIGHTS-CLASS-ACTION-INVESTIGATION/ WHEN I REACHED OUT TO NISSAN, A REGIONAL MANAGER CONTACTED ME. HE TOLD ME THERE WAS NOTHING NISSAN WAS GOING TO DO SINCE MY CAR WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. THEY WILL NOT BE COVERING ANY COSTS, AND THEY WILL NOT BE ISSUING RECALLS UNLESS ENOUGH PEOPLE COMPLAIN TO THE NHTSA. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP.
Mileage: 25,000
VEHICLE IN MOTION, HIGHWAY AND CITY STREET DRIVING. THE LOW-BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE DANGEROUSLY DIM. IF DRIVING ON A ROAD NOT OTHERWISE LIGHTED BY STREETLAMPS, NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE THE ROAD AHEAD. HIGH-BEAMS ALWAYS HAVE TO BE USED. CHECKED GROUND WIRE, REPLACED BULBS WITH NO IMPROVEMENT. THIS HAS BEEN AN ISSUES FOR A WELL OVER A YEAR.
Mileage: 132,000
THE FRONT HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM IT MAKES SEEING VERY DIFFICULT. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH NISSAN. THE 3RD LANE TURNED INTO A TURN LANE ON A CITY STREET THAT I COULDNT SEE DUE TO THE POOR LIGHTING AND WE STRUCK A CURB BLOWING OUT BOTH RIGHT SIDE TIRES AND RUINING THE WHEELS.
Mileage: 81,000
MY DAILY COMMUTE TAKES ME THROUGH RURAL, RELATIVELY UNLIT AREAS AT NIGHT. THIS HAS BECOME INCREASINGLY UNSAFE IN THE LAST YEAR AS MY HEADLIGHTS HAVE DIMMED TO THE POINT WHERE I AM UNABLE TO SEE MORE THAN 60-70 FEET IN FRONT OF ME. THIS POSES A SIGNIFICANT HAZARD THROUGHOUT THE YEAR AS DEER ARE ABUNDANT IN THE AREA I DRIVE THROUGH AND ANY AMOUNT OF INCLEMENT WEATHER FURTHER HINDERS SAFE DRIVING.
Mileage: 95,000
THE HEADLIGHTS ARE EXTREMELY DIM AND DIFFICULT TO SEE IN NIGHTS. I FEEL EXTREMELY UNSAFE TO DRIVE AT NIGHTS. NISSAN DOESN'T HAVE A WAY TO FIX. A FULL REPLACEMENT WILL COST SEVERAL 1000 DOLLARS BUT NOT REPORTED TO YIELD RESULTS.
OVER A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME (APROX. 2 YEARS), THE HEADLIGHT LOW-BEAM OUTPUT HAS DECREASED TO UNSAFE LEVELS. AT NIGHT, IT IS HARD TO TELL IF THE HEADLIGHT ARE EVEN ON, BECAUSE THEY DO NOT SEEM TO LIGHT UP THE ROAD AT ALL. I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO CHANGE THE BULBS, AND CLEANING THE LENS, BUT NEITHER HAS HELPED. I LOOKED FURTHER INTO THE ISSUE, AND IT APPEARS THE REFLECTOR MATERIAL INSIDE THE PROJECTOR HEADLIGHT HAS BURNT OFF FROM REGULAR USE IN THE 2 YEARS THAT I OWNED THE CAR (PURCHASED NEW), THERE IS ALMOST NO REFLECTIVE MATERIAL LEFT IN THE PROJECTOR HEADLIGHT. I CHECKED WITH NISSAN DEALERSHIP, AND THAT ISN'T SOMETHING THAT IS COVERED BY ANY OF THE WARRANTIES, THERE IS ALSO NO RECALL FOR THIS PART WHICH I FIND COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. EVERY SINGLE 2014+ ALTIMA THAT I SEE ON THE STREET APPEARS TO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE, THE ROAD IN FRONT OF THE CAR ISN'T LIT, AND I AM SURE IT IS ALSO DUE TO THE BURNED OFF REFLECTORS IN THEIR HEADLIGHTS AS WELL.
Mileage: 25,000
MY HEAD LIGHTS ARE VERY DIM MAKING IT HARD TO SEE AT NIGHT, I ALMOST HIT A TROOPER ON A DARK ROAD AT A SCHOOL ,LIGHTS WERE VERY DIM AND HE HAD ON DARK CLOTHES.THEY HAVE BEEN GETTING DIMER EVERY NIGHT.I WAS TURNING IN TO A SCHOOL .
Mileage: 58,000
THE HEADLIGHTS HAVE BEEN GETTING DIMMER OVER TIME (SO BAD ITS HARD TO SEE!!) REPLACING THE BULBS HAS NOT HELPED! VERY UNSAFE!!
Mileage: 69,000
WHEN I DRIVE AT NIGHT WITH THE LIGHTS ON LOW BEAM THEY ARE DANGEROUSLY DIM. IT IS VERY HARD TO SEE.
Mileage: 110,000
POOR LOW LIGHTING
I CHANGE MY DIM HEADLIGHTS AND I STILL CAN'T SEE AT NIGHT. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL ON 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA
THE LOW BEAM DRIVERS HEADLIGHT HAS BECOME VERY DIM. THE BULBS WERE REPLACED WITH THE SAME HALOGEN TYPE, BUT THERE WAS NO DIFFERENCE. THE HEADLAMP APPEARS TO BE CLOUDED ON THE INSIDE LENS. THE EXTERIOR HEADLAMP SURFACE IS CLEAR. THIS IS HAPPENING ALL THE TIME.
Mileage: 80,000
HEADLIGHTS ARE REAL DIM THE LENS ARE CLEAN AN CLEAR CANT HARDLY TELL THEY ARE ON
THE VISIBILITY IS VERY POOR. IT HAS BEEN THIS WAY SINCE WE PURCHASED THE CAR WITH 22K ON IT.
Mileage: 22,000
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE LOW-BEAM HEADLIGHT PROJECTION WAS INADEQUATE FOR NIGHT TIME DRIVING. EXTON NISSAN (200 W LINCOLN HWY, EXTON, PA 19341, (610) 594-7400) WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE PROJECTOR MECHANIC WAS MALFUNCTIONING CAUSING THE DIMNESS OF THE HEADLIGHTS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE BUT, PROVIDED NO ASSISTANCE. A CASE WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
Mileage: 100,000
2015 NISSAN ALTIMA - THE LOW BEAMS PROVIDE INSUFFICIENT LIGHTING DURING NIGHT DRIVING AND CREATES A SAFETY HAZARD. I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE USED IN 2018. I REPLACED THE BULBS BUT THERE WERE NO IMPROVEMENTS. FRIENDS AND FAMILY NOTICE THE PROBLEM AND ARE AFRAID TO DRIVE AT NIGHT IN THIS CAR. RESEARCH SHOWS THE PROJECTOR BOWLS ARE DEFECTIVE AND IT IS GOING TO COST ME NEARLY $1K TO REPLACE BOTH HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES.
Mileage: 80,000
THE HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY DIM. VERY POOR VISIBILITY CAUSING TO NOT BE ABLE TO SEE WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT.
Mileage: 86,000
THE FRONT HEAD LIGHTS HAVE BECOME DIM TO THE POINT WHERE MY VISION IS IMPAIRED DURING NIGHT TIME DRIVING.
Mileage: 12,000
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE LOW BEAM HEADLAMP BULBS WERE INOPERABLE. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT USED THE HIGH BEAM WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO UNIVERSAL NISSAN (12785 S. ORANGE BLOSSOM TRL, ORLANDO, FL 32837) WHERE THE HEADLAMP BULBS WERE REPLACED. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED.

MY BACK BREAK LIGHTS KEEP BURNING OUT AND THE CASING LOOKS LIKE IT'S BURNED NOW. COULD IT CATCH FIRE?
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE DANGEROUSLY TOO DIM, POSING A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY RISK. HAVE TO DRIVE WITH HIGH BEAMS ON TO SAFELY SEE THE ROAD, AND FOR OTHERS TO SEE US.*DT CONSUMER STATED HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES WAS REPLACED.*JB
INITIALLY I THOUGHT MY EYESE WERE GOING BAD, BUT AFTER RESEARCHING, THERE IS RECURRING INCIDENCE OF OF CONSUMERS REPORTING DIM HEADLIGHTS. ITS TO THE POINT THAT I TRY NOT TO DRIVE AT NIGHT, AND IF I DO, I HAVE TO USE MY HIGH BEAMS WHICH POSES A HAZARD TO OTHER DRIVERS. NISSSAN IS AWARE OF THE PROBLEM, HOWEVER IS CHARGING OVER $1000 TO REPLACE THE HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY BECAUSE SIMPLY REPLACING THE BULB IS NOT THE SOLUTION. HTTP://WWW.NISSANPROBLEMS.COM/ALTIMA-PROJECTOR-HEADLIGHTS/#:~:TEXT=THE%20LOW%2DBEAM%20HEADLIGHTS%20IN,CREATING%20A%20LESS%20EFFECTIVE%20HEADLAMP.
Mileage: 60,000
THE HEADLIGHT COMPONENT IS OF VERY POOR QUALITY. IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT KIND OF BULBS ARE PLACED IN THE HEADLIGHTS, THE LIGHT DOES NOT PROJECT ONTO THE ROAD ENOUGH TO SEE WELL AT NIGHT. THE HEADLIGHTS DON'T PROJECT FAR ENOUGH OUT AND YOU ARE ONLY ABLE TO SEE THE ROAD THAT IS BARELY IN FRONT OF YOU, NOT EVEN TO THE SIDES. I HAVE TRIED UPGRADING THE BULBS MULTIPLE TIMES AND THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE.
Mileage: 40,000
I AM ALSO HAVING AN ISSUE WITH THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS BEING DANGEROUSLY INEFFECTIVE FOR NIGHT DRIVING OR INCLEMENT WEATHER. IT SEEMS THAT THEIR ARE MORE THAN AN ADEQUATE AMOUNT OF COMPLAINTS FILED TO WARRANT SOME ACTION. MY DAUGHTER AND GRAND CHILDREN RIDE IN THIS VEHICLE AND THERE BETTER NOT ANYTHING HAPPEN TO THEM BECAUSE OF THIS. NISSAN NOR NHTSA HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO SETTLE THAT LAWSUIT. LIGHTS DECLINED GRADUALLY. FROM ONLINE RESEARCH I SEE THAT THE ISSUE IS THE REFLECTORS INSIDE THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES. I HAVE ALSO CHANGED TO "BRIGHTER" BULBS, NO HELP. I'VE RESEARCHED AFTERMARKET HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES AND THEY ALSO SEEM INFERIOR.
Mileage: 100,000
LOW BEAMS ARE HARD TO SEE AT NIGHT. HAVE REPLACED MULTIPLE TIMES AND STILL HARD TO SEE AT NIGHT WHICH IS DANGEROUS. I DON'T FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING AT NIGHT OR MORNING DUE TO POOR VISIBILITY. *TR
Mileage: 88,000
LIGHTS ARE VERY DIM AND HAS CAUSED ME TO BE IN ALMOST 2 ACCIDENTS. I HAVE TO USE MY HIGH BEAMS ALOT
Mileage: 500
THE INTERIOR LIGHTS DON'T WORK I HAVE A PUSH START AND I HAVE TO USE MY KEY TO UNLOCK/LOCK THE DOORS. THE BEEPER DOESN'T WORK AND THE BATTERY HAS BEEN REPLACED SEVERAL TIMES. MY CAR ALSO DRIVES AS IF IT'S IN NEUTRAL AND WON'T PICK UP SPEED. I HAVE TO TURN THE CAR OFF AND START IT BACK UP FOR IT TO STOP BUT IT WILL DO IT CONSTANTLY. I HAVE TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP NUMEROUS OF TIMES AND THEY ALWAYS TELL ME THEY CAN'T FIND AN ISSUE. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR A YEAR NOW.
THE REFLECTION ASSEMBLY IN BOTH FRONT HEADLIGHTS HAS BEEN COMING APART RESULTING IN A GRADUAL LOSS OF BRIGHTNESS. IT IS VERY HARD TO SEE WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT.
Mileage: 51,000
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DIMMER SWITCH SHIFTED TO THE OFF POSITION WHILE ATTEMPTING TO DIM THE HEADLIGHTS. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN WITH NO HEADLIGHTS ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED OR NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000.
Mileage: 95,000
HEAD LIGHT HAS GONE DIM. I HAVE REPLACE IT 4 TIMES. IT ONLY LAST 2 -3 MONTHS. IT GETS SO DIM I HAVE TO USE MY BRIGHT LIGHTS. THIS US GETTING VERY DANGEROUS FOR ME TO DRIVE.
I AM NOT ABLE TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE AT NIGHT THE REGULAR HEADLIGHTS WORK AS IN THEY APPEAR TO COME ON BUT AT NIGHT THEY ARE NOT VISIBLE TO ME DRIVING I HAVE TO DRIVE WITH MY BRIGHTS ON. I TEIED TO DRIVE AT NIGHT AND ALMOST WRECKED DUE TO ONCOMING TRAFFIC NOT ALLOWINNG ME TO SEE THHE VERY LOW BEAM MY HEADLIGHT PUTS OFF
Mileage: 132,000
VERY DIM HEADLIGHTS. CAN NOT SEE IN FRONT OF YOU WHILE DRIVING. HAVE TO DRIVE WITH BRIGHT LIGHTS ON TO SEE AT NIGHT. THE BRIGHT LIGHTS LOOK LIKE REGULAR HEADLIGHTS WHEN TURNED ON, NOT VERY BRIGHT TO BE BRIGHT LIGHTS. IT'S A SAFETY CONCERN AND VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. I CHANGED OUT THE BULBS TWICE TO HALOGEN AND LED AND NEITHER FIXED THE PROBLEM.
THE HEAD LIGHTS ARE DIM AND DO NOT PROJECT OUT OR TO THE SIDE TOOK TO DEALER THREE TIMES AND NOTHING KEEP SAYING IT CHECKS OUT SO I TOOK A VIDEO WHILE ON THE HWY TO SHOW THEM AND THEY SAY NOTHING THEY CAN DO SO THE SAFETY OF MY FAMILY MEANS NOTHING TO NISSAN I HAVE A SENTRA WE SEE FINE OUT OF

LOW BEAMS ARE DANGEROUSLY LOW AND HAVE ALMOST CAUSED ME TO HAVE ACCIDENTS. NIGHT DRIVING, ESPECIALLY IN WET CONDITIONS IS AWFUL! VERY SCARY AND DANGEROUS!
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE TOO DIM. I CAN'T SEE WELL AT NIGHT AS A RESULT. DEALER TOLD ME THE BULBS ARE FINE AND THAT THE PROBLEM RESIDES WITH THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY. FILM HAS DEVELOPED ON THE LENSE/PROJECTOR. NISSAN WANTS TO CHARGE ME $1,300 TO FIX THIS WHICH IS UNACCEPTABLE. MY CAR IS WELL KEPT (GARAGED)...
MY HEADLIGHT DIM NOT BRIGHT NEVER WAS PERFECT EVEN BEGINNING TIME BY TIME GETTING WORSE MAY GETTING MORE WORSE LAST YEARS . I REPLACED LIGHT BULB BUT DIDN'T CHANGED SAME DIM L AFRAID TO DRIVE EVENING NOT SAFE TO DRIVE IF RAINY DAY I DON'T DRIVE AT ALL BECAUSE U CANT SEE NOTHINK THESE HEAD LIGHT THAT BAD . .L BOUGHT MY CAR BEGINNING TO 2016 ONLY 4 YEARS OLD CAR.
IT'S VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE WITH ONLY THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ON. HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM THAT I CAN NOT SEE MORE THAN A FOOT IN FRONT OF ME ESPECIALLY IF THERE ARE NO STREET LIGHTS. IT'S PRETTY MUCH LIKE DRIVING WITH NO HEADLIGHTS ON. EVEN PEOPLE THAT HAVE RIDDEN IN MY CAR CAN TELL THE HEADLIGHTS ARE NONEXISTENT. I SUFFERED SOME FRONT END DAMAGE TO MY CAR AFTER HITTING A GARBAGE CAN THAT I DID NOT SEE WHEN I WAS DRIVING HOME AT NIGHT. THIS IS TRULY A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION. I HAVE TRIED TO GET A BRIGHT BUILT (60% MORE VISION); HOWEVER, IT DOES NOT HELP.
Mileage: 119,000
THE HEADLIGHTS ON MY 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA HAVE CONTINUED TO GET DIM. I CAN BARELY SEE AT NIGHT, WHILE PARKED OR DRIVING. IT LOOKS LIKE MY LIGHTS ARE NOT ON AT ALL FROM THE DRIVER'S SEAT. MY BRIGHTS WORK FINE. I CHANGED BOTH BULBS TO LED AND THERE IS NO CHANGE. THIS IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. I AM GOING TO BUY NEW HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES FOR BOTH THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE LIGHT PROJECTED FROM THE HEADLAMPS WERE EXTREMELY DIM AND INSUFFICIENT FOR SAFE VEHICLE OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO RICART NISSAN DEALER, (4255 S HAMILTON RD, # 190, GROVEPORT, OH 43125, (614) 836-6506) WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT PART OF A RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. NO ADDITIONAL ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 95,400.

WHEN YOUR TURN SIGNAL LIGHTS ARE BRIGHTER THAN YOUR LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS YOU KNOW YOU HAVE A NISSAN ALTIMA. LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE EXTREMELY DIM. HAVE REPLACED BULBS WITH MAXIMUM BRIGHTNESS TWICE. POLY-CARBONATE HOUSING IS STILL RELATIVELY CLEAR, NO CHANGE IN CONDITION. DRIVING AT NIGHT IS HARROWING. ON HIGHWAY, WHEN CARS ARE BEHIND, THEIR HEADLIGHTS CREATE A SHADOW THAT THE ALTIMA BEAMS CANNOT OVERCOME. ON CITY STREETS OR COUNTY ROADS IF THERE ARE NO STREET LIGHTS THE LOW BEAMS PROJECT ABOUT 20 FEET. HIGH BEAMS OK UNTIL ENCOUNTER ON-COMING TRAFFIC AND MUST SWITCH TO LOW BEAMS. AT THAT POINT YOU ARE TOTALLY IN THE BLACK DUE TO THE ALTIMA WEAK BEAMS AND THE ON-COMING HEADLIGHTS. THE BEST YOU CAN DO IS HOPE THAT A WHITE LINE IS PAINTED ON THE EDGE OF THE ROADWAY AND TRY TO STAY IN THE LANE. FOG CONDITIONS AT NIGHT ARE HORRIBLE WITH WEAK LOW BEAM LIGHTS. VISIBILITY IS ABOUT 3 FEET. TURNING HIGH BEAMS ON MAKES IT EQUALLY BAD. I CAN TRY TO TAKE SOME COMPARISON PICTURES IF NHTSA THINKS IT WILL HELP CLARIFY THIS WELL DOCUMENTED ISSUE WITH THE NISSAN ALTIMA. RESEARCH INDICATES THAT REFLECTOR USED IN LIGHTING HOUSING GOES BAD AND VERY LITTLE LIGHT IS ACTUALLY PROJECTED, NO MATTER WHAT BULB IS INSTALLED. MY VEHICLE IS ALMOST UNUSABLE AT NIGHT AND DEFINITELY IN RAIN OR FOG. ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT LET MY TEEN DRIVE THE ALTIMA AT NIGHT. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SAFETY ISSUE THAT NEEDS USG SUPPORT. NISSAN REFUSES TO TAKE ANY RESPONSIBILITY - REFUTING CLAIMS BY OWNERS AND STATING OVER $1000 TO FIX THE ISSUE. NISSAN WILL NOT RECALL WITHOUT USG INTERVENTION AND WE NEED NHTSA'S HELP!
Mileage: 108,000
LOW BEAM LIGHTS ARE EXTREMELY FAINT WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT OR BAD WEATHER IT'S EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO SEE EVERYONE ALWAYS ASKS IF I HAVE MY LIGHTS ON. I DON'T EVEN DRIVE AT NIGHT OR BAD WEATHER ANYMORE DUE TO THE LACK OF LIGHTING BEING PROJECTED FROM MY 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA IT'S TOO UNSAFE FOR MYSELF AND OTHERS IN MY CAR AND I HAVE 20/20 VISION SO IT'S NOT MY EYES!
Mileage: 32,000
I HAVE SPENT OVER 500 ON LIGHTS BULBS AND LIGHTING ON THIS ALTIMA 2015 '..THE HEADLIGHTS OR THE BULBS ARE TRASH THERE R VERY VERY VERY DIM FEW MONTHS AFTER PURCHASE,I WAS TOLD TO CHANGE,REPLACE,RESTORATION ITS LIKE IM GETTING THE RUN AROUND AND NOT FIX THE PROBLEM AND ITS RIDICULOUS TO PRODUCE POOR LIGHTING ON A CAR AND SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE IMMEDIATELY NOW!! I DRIVE IN THE DAY NOW WHEN I HAVE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT CAUSE NO LIGHTS HAVE TO USE BRIGHT LIGHTS TO SEE WHOM EVER IT MAY CONCERN THIS NEED TO BE RECALL NOOOOWWW BEFORE SOMEBODIES DIE BECAUSE OF A SIMPLE FIX THAT NISSAN SEEMS LIKE THEY DON'T WANT TO ADDRESS UNTIL SOMEONE DIES IN A CRASH '..NOW!!!!!
Mileage: 38,000
THE HEADLIGHTS ON THIS VEHICLE HAVE BEEN REPLACED TWICE. I HAVE HAD THE NISSAN DEALER CHECK THESE HEADLIGHTS AND THEY SAY THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THEM. THE HEADLIGHTS ARE A SEVERE SAFETY HAZARD FOR NIGHT DRIVING. I HAVE TO USE MY BRIGHTS TO BE ABLE TO SEE AT NIGHT. MY GRANDDAUGHTER BORROWED MY CAR AND SHE THOUGHT THE HEADLIGHTS WERE OFF. THESE HEADLIGHTS NEED A SAFETY RECALL BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED.
Mileage: 81,000
DRIVER AND PASSENGER HEAD LIGHTS DIM, NOT PROJECTING ENOUGH LIGHT TO PROVIDE CLEAR PATH OF VISIBILITY WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. BOTH INNER BULBS HAVE HAZED OVER TO A CLOUDY WHITE, NO LONGER CLEAR, AND NOT ALLOWING LIGHT THROUGH. BROUGHT VEHICLE TO MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALER, WAS TOLD BOTH HEADLIGHTS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, AND THE $1100.00 REPAIR WOULD NOT BE COVERED BY EXTENDED WARRANTY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE LOW BEAM HEAD LIGHTS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE ADEQUATELY. THE LOCAL DEALER MCGUIRE NISSAN LOCATED AT 716 WEST GENESEE ST, SYRACUSE NY 13204, (315) 802-4432 WAS CONTACTED AND NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY DIM. (HIGH BEAM IS FINE.) LOW BEAMS ARE SO DIM YOU HAVE TO ALSO USE THE FOG/DRIVING LIGHTS TO SEE AT NIGHT, MY CAR HAS THEM, SOME MODELS DON,T. CHANGING THE BULBS DID NOT HELP AT ALL, OUTSIDE LENS IS CLEAR. USING HIGH BEAMS AT NIGHT IRRITATES AND IS DANGEROUS TO ON COMING DRIVERS. I DON'T LIKE DRIVING LIKE THAT AT ALL. LOW BEAMS SHOULD BE BRIGHT ENOUGH TO BE SEE, THEY ARE NOT.
Mileage: 105,000
HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY DIM. BULBS WERE CHANGED AND DON'T HELP. AFTER READING ONLINE THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE. THE ENTIRE ASSEMBLY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED FOR BOTH HEADLIGHTS. WE CAN ONLY DRIVE AT NIGHT WITH THE HIGH BEAMS ON! THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. THIS OCCURS ALL THE TIME AND HAS GOTTEN PROGRESSIVELY WORSE.
Mileage: 50,000
THE HEADLIGHTS OF MY NISSAN ALTIMA 2015 IS REALLY WEEK AND IS BECOMING WEAKER DAY BY DAY TO THE POINT IT'S HAZARDOUS TO DRIVE AT NIGHT ESPECIALLY IN RAIN, SNOW OR FOG. I HAVE NOTICED THAT THERE IS ACCUMMULATION OF WATER VAPOR INSIDE THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY. THEY DON'T GO AWAY.
Mileage: 40,000
MY HEADLIGHTS ARE GETTING DIMMER AND DIMMER. I REPLACED THE BULBS TWICE. BUT THEY ARE STILL DIMMING. NOW HAVING TO USE HIGH BEAMS ALL THE TIME.
LENS IN THE HEADLIGHT HOUSING IS BURNT OFF TO THE POINT IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. BIG SAFETY ISSUE. VERY DANGEROUS.
LENS IN THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY HAS BURNT OFF AND THE CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. NUMEROUS ISSUES WITH THIS PROBLEM.
WHEN I 1ST BOUGHT THE CAR I UPGRADED THE HEADLIGHTS TO LED LOW BEAMS. THIS PRODUCED A NICE LIGHT AND THE LIGHTING INCREASED SIGNIFICANTLY WITH A VERY SHARP CUTOFF LINE. THIS WAS ABOUT 18 MONTHS AGO. NOW THE LOW BEAMS BARELY PRODUCE A BLOB OF LIGHR AND THERE IS NO CUTOFF LINE FOR THE LIGHTS VISIBLE. MY FOG LIGHTS ACTUALLY LIGHT UP THE ROAD BETTER THAN THE LOW BEAMS. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS DRIVING AT NIGHT WITH VERY VISIBLE LIGHT ACTUALLY HITTING THE ROAD. I WILL NEED TO REPLACE THESE HEADLIGHTS VERY SOON AS I DO ALLOT OF NIGHTTIME DRIVING GOING TO AND FROM WORK IN THE WINTER MONTHS. IF THE ROADS ARE WET OR DAMP THE LIGHTING DOES NOT EVEN LIGHT UP THE LANE MARKER LINES THIS MAKES IT VERY HARD TO DRIVE ESSPECIALLY ON CURVY ROADS.

MY DIM HEADLIGHTS ARE EXTREMELY LOW. DRIVING AT NIGHT IS A SAFETY HAZARD DUE TO THE DIM HEADLIGHTS. I HAVE NOT REPORTED THIS TO MY DEALERSHIP AFTER VIEWING OTHER COMPLAINTS WITH THE SAME SAFETY ISSUE AND THE FEEDBACK FROM DEALERSHIPS LESS THAN HELPFUL. I KNOW THAT HEADLIGHTS (BULBS) SHOULD BE REPLACED FROM TIME TO TIME. HOWEVER, AFTER REPLACING BULBS THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. THE PERFORMANCE OF THE HEADLIGHTS, ESPECIALLY AT NIGHT, IS BELOW INDUSTRY STANDARDS. AS OF NOW THIS PROBLEM HAS BEEN REPORTED TO NHTSA AS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN. I HAVE NOT DISCOVERED ANY REAL INFORMATION FROM NHTSA, PRO OR CON, ON THIS ISSUE WHICH IS CONCERNING TO ME. I WOULD HOPE THAT DUE DILIGENCE AND FOLLOW UP TO CONSUMERS FROM NHTSA, ABOUT THIS COMPLAINT, IS FORTHCOMING OR AT THE LEAST DIRECTIVES ARE GIVEN AS TO RESOLUTIONS TO THIS SAFETY ISSUE. ALSO, PURCHASING BRIGHTER BULBS DON'T SEEM TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I HAVE TRIED THAT. YOUR FEEDBACK WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED CONCERNING THIS HEADLIGHT SAFETY ISSUE ON MY 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA.

WHEN I HAD BROUGHT MY CAR LESS THAN ONE MONTH LATER THE HEADLIGHTS WAS NOT WORKING ONLY THE HIGH BEAM WORKS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT BOTH HEADLIGHTS WERE DIM, WHICH MADE IT DIFFICULT TO SEE THE ROAD WHILE DRIVING. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT REPLACED THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE BULB, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
THE LIGHTS ARE BECOMING DIMMER AND DIMMER, CHANGING THE BULBS DOES NOT HELP. THE ISSUE SEEMS TO BE IN THE REFLECTOR. THE WHOLE LIGHTING UNIT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND NISSAN WON'T REPLACE IT EVEN THOUGH IT IS A DEFECT IN THE LIGHTS. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING AT NIGHT. I HAVE TO USE MY HIGH BEAMS TO EVEN SEE.

HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY DIM, EVEN AFTER REPLACING WITH AFTERMARKET LIGHTS, AT NIGHT, MAKING IT VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE
Mileage: 2,000
HAVE OWNED CAR FOR 2.5 YEARS. INITIALLY HEADLIGHTS APPEARED FINE. THE HEADLIGHTS BRIGHTNESS OF THE HEADLIGHTS HAS DEGRADED SO MUCH THAT I BELIEVE NIGHT DRIVING PUTS THE DRIVER AT GREAT RISK. VISIBILITY WITH LOW BEAMS SEEM MORE LIKE PARKING LIGHTS. NO USEFUL LIGHTING FOR MORE THAN A FEW FEET. THE HIGH BEAM NOW SERVE AS MY LOW BEAM AND THEY APPEAR TO BE DECLINING. THIS IS EXTREMELY UNSAFE AND UNSETTLING! I ASKED THE DEALERSHIP INITIALLY THINKING IT WAS THE BULB. THEY SAID IT WASN'T THE BULB, BUT THE REFLECTORS. THEY ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THIS HAS BEEN A REPORTED PROBLEM. A RECALL HAS NOT BEEN MADE! THIS IS CLEARLY AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. I'M TOTALLY FEARFUL IF IT SHOULD RAIN AS IT FURTHER REDUCES THE LIMITED VISIBILITY. AMAZING THAT THIS PROBLEM AND CONCERN THAT SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN AROUND FOR AT LEAST A FEW YEARS CONTINUES TO GO UNADDRESSED.
LIGHTS ARE VERY DIM ON LOW BEAM. THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY HAS A MANUFACTURE DEFECT THAT MAKES IT DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. REPLACEMENT FOR BOTH HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY'S COST AROUND $800. I AM SCARED TO DRIVE AT NIGHT BECAUSE I CAN'T SEE.
Mileage: 110,000
WHEN VEHICLE WAS PURCHASE FROM DEALER, THE HEADLIGHTS WORKED GREAT. NOW THE HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT IT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE THE WHITE AND YELLOW LINES ON THE ROAD AHEAD OF YOU. WHEN CONTACTING THE DEALERSHIP THEIR ANSWER WAS 'WE'RE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM' AND RECOMMENDED BUYING NEW HEADLIGHTS AT 800$ A POP. AFTER FURTHER INVESTIGATION AND RESEARCH I FIND THIS IS IN FACT A MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND SEVERAL THOUSAND COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN MADE. WHEN CAN I EXPECT A RECALL ON THIS POTENTIALLY DEADLY ISSUE? I ALONG WITH MANY OTHERS HAVE BEEN TAKEN BY A CAR MANUFACTURER THAT PUTS PROFITS BEFORE SAFETY. WITHOUT THE NHTSA STANDING UP FOR THE PUBLIC THIS WILL CONTINUE TO BECOME AND REMAIN A ISSUE FOR INNOCENT AND NEEDLESS FATALITIES.
Mileage: 50,000
LOW BEAM LIGHTS VERY DIM. CANNOT SEE WELL AT NIGHT AT ALL, IT'S LIKE I HAVE NO LIGHTS. CHANGING THEM DID NOT HELP. I'M ONLY 40 AND HAVE NO VISION PROBLEMS. THE SEATBELT LIGHT COMES ON AND OFF WHILE DRIVING AND MY SEATBELT IS ON. NISSIAN CANNOT PULL A CODE ON WHY.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE HEADLIGHTS FAILED TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE LIGHTING. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,000.

MY HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY DIM AT NIGHT AND I HAVE TO USE MY BRIGHT LIGHTS. IT'S BEEN DOING THIS FOR AWHILE NOW. ON DARK ROADS, I CAN'T SEE ANYTHING. AUTO STORE SAYS LIGHTS DON'T NEED TO BE REPLACED, THAT IT'S A FACTORY DEFAULT.
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM MY TEENAGE DAUGHTER WITH PERFECT VISION CAN BARELY SEE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT ON HIGHWAYS AND BACKROADS UNLESS SHE HAS THE HIGH BEAMS ON. I'VE LEARNED THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL CAR. I FEEL LIKE THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN THAT SHOULD BE RECALLED.

MY LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM THAT I HAVE TO RUN THE HIGH BEAMS TO SEE AT NIGHT, I GOOGLED THIS AND THERE IS WEB PAGE AFTER WEB PAGES OF FORUMS WITH ALTIMA OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM, NOT THE BULB, BUT THE REFLECTIVE COATING INSIDE THE LIGHT ASSEMBLY AND NISSAN IS CHARGING 1000 BUCKS TO CHANGE OUT THE ASSEMBLY. YOU CANT SEE THE ROAD IF THERE IS AN ONCOMING VEHICLE, SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET HURT BADLY I NOTICED THE LAWERS IN CALIFORNA AND TEXAS GETTING A LAWSUIT AGAINST NISSAN FOR THIS ISSUE, THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL TO FIX THIS. I HAVE HAD A FEW RECALLS FOR BOTH MY ALTIMA S, A SEAT BELT AND BACK DOOR, BUT THERE WILL NOT BE A SEAT BELT OR DOOR IF YOU RUN OFF THE ROAD OR A HEAD-ON COLLISION BECAUSE YOU CAN'T SEE IN FRONT OF YOUR CAR. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE A NIGHT IF IT IS RAINING, JUST DON'T DO IT, PLEASE HELP US NISSAN ALTIMA OWNERS
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT VERY DIM, EVEN AFTER REPLACING BULB. RESEARCH SHOWS LOW BEAM REFLECTOR HOUSING IS FAULTY, NOT REFLECTING LIGHT, CREATING UNSAFE NIGHT DRIVING CONDITION. FURTHER RESEARCH SHOW ONLY WAY TO REMEDY IS TO REPLACE COMPLETE HEADLIGHT HOUSING.
Mileage: 85,000
THE HEADLIGHTS ARE DIM AND THERE IS NO WAY TI FIX THEM. IT;S BECOMING VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AT NIGHT CAUSE YOU CANNOT SEE NOTHING AHEAD OF THE CAR
LOW-BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE DANGEROUSLY DIM. NISSAN REPLACED THEM VOLUNTARILY (NO CHARGE) APRIL 9, 2018, BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM. NOW THE REPLACED (NEW) LOW-BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE AGAIN DANGEROUSLY DIM. I VERY OFTEN HAVE TO USE MY HIGH BEAMS TO SEE PROPERLY (STREET SIGNS, CURBS, ETC.) WHICH IS DANGEROUS TO ONCOMING TRAFFIC.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA. WHILE THE CONTACT'S WIFE WAS DRIVING 45 MPH, SHE WAS UNABLE TO SEE MORE THAN TEN FEET IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE DUE TO POOR ILLUMINATION FROM BOTH LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT CALLED PAYNE'S AUTO MART & LEASING (LOCATED AT 1524 1ST AVE SE, MOULTRIE, GA 31768, (229) 985-0989) AND INFORMED THEM OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 87,000.

LOW-BEAM HEADLIGHTS BECAME INCREASINGLY DIM OVER SEVERAL MONTHS TO THE POINT WHERE THERE IS NO FORWARD STREET ILLUMINATION. I NOW MUST ALWAYS DRIVE WITH BRIGHT HI-BEAM LIGHTS ON. ON-COMING DRIVERS OFTEN FLASH FOR ME TO DIM/LOWER THE BRIGHTS CAUSING A SAFETY HAZARD FOR BOTH ME AND THE APPROACHING DRIVER. DEALER TECHNICIAN CONFIRMS THAT BULBS ARE FULLY FUNCTIONAL WITH NORMAL DIM BRIGHTNESS AND DO NOT NEED REPLACING. THE ONLY REMEDY SUGGESTED IS FOR BOTH LEFT AND RIGHT HEADLAMP ASSEMBLIES BE REPLACED COSTING OVER $1000 EACH. THIS ON A FOUR YEAR OLD CAR SUGGESTS TO ME THAT THIS IS A MANUFACTURER'S RESPONSIBILITY. A 30 SECOND ON-LINE SEARCH INSTANTLY SHOWS THAT OTHER 2013-2015 NISSAN ALTIMA OWNERS HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THEIR CARS.

STOCK HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY DIM! POLARIZED LENS NOT VERY EFFECTIVE

THE HEADLIGHTS ON THIS CAR CONTINUE TO GET DIMMER. THEY ARE AT THE POINT WHERE IT ISNT DRIVEABLE AT NIGHT. I CONTACTED THE DEALER BECAUSE THE CAR IS UNDER A CERTIFIED WARRANTY AND THEY ALONG WITH NISSAN CORPORATE TOLD ME ITS NOT THEIR PROBLEM. I EVEN REPLACED THE BULBS WITH BRIGHTER SYLVANIA BULBS BUT IT MADE NO DIFFERENCE. PEOPLE HAVE SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ALL OVER THE INTERNET SO CLEARLY IT IS A PROBLEM AS THE CAR IS NOT SAFE AT NIGHT. CAN YOU HELP?
Mileage: 55,000
HEADLIGHTS DANGEROUSLY DIM. NO VISIBILITY DRIVING AFTER DARK. LIGHTS DOES NOT ILLUMINATE ROAD. CANNOT SEE ANYTHING IN FRONT OR SEE CURBS OR PEOPLE CROSSING ROADS. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH 2013-2015 NISSAN CARS. IT IS SO UNSAFE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT AS YOU CANNOT SEE ANYTHING IN FRONT OF CAR. CHANGED BULBS TWICE, BROUGHT NEW HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY AND STILL HAD SAME PROBLEM AFTER 7 MOS. NISSAN SHOULD RECALL HEADLIGHT BEFORE SOMEONE DIES DUE TO THEIR FAULTY HEADLIGHTS AND THEIR SILENCE
CAR HAS POOR VISUALBILITY DURING NIGHT TIME DRIVING WITH LIGHTS ON LOW BEAM HAS CHANGED LIGHTS TO LED AND BOUGHT HIGHER QUALITY BULBS WHICH HASNT HELPED THE PROBLEM CAR WAS BROUGHT BRAND NEW 2015 AND HAS NOTICED PROBLEM OF LOW LIGHT REFLECTION SINCE EARLY 2018
PERSISTANT POOR LIGHT PRODUCTION OF LOW BEAM HEAD LIGHTS/ HEAD LAMP PROJECTORS. HAVE REPLACED HEAD LAMP BULBS WITH STONGER H11 BULBS, INCLUDING LED AND YOU CAN BARELY SEE THE ROAD AT NIGHT. CLEARLY THE PROJECTOR DETERIORATES OR FAILS AS CAR AGES. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD, AS YOU CANNOT CLEARLY SEE THE ROAD UNLESS YOU USE HI BEAM, WHICH IS NOT PRACTICAL. EVEN WITH FOG LAMPS TURNED ON, FORWARD VIEW IS DIFFICULT IN NIGHT AND ABSOLUTELY DANGEROUS IN POOR WEATHER CONDITIONS. THIS IS WHILE DRIVING VEHICLE AT NIGHT, POOR WEATHER CONDITIONS, DUSK, DAWN, LOW LIGHT CONDITIONS.
Mileage: 75,000
THIS IS THE 3RD COMPLAINT. I NOW HAVE NO LIGHT PROJECTING FROM A GOOD BULB ON THE DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT AND THERE IS ONLY 1 FOOT OF PROJECTION OF LIGHT COMING FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT. I AM NOW DRIVING WITH MY HIGH BEAMS AT NIGHT. I FEAR FOR MY SAFETY, THE SAFETY OF MY PASSENGERS AND THE PUBLIC THAT I DRIVE BEHIND WITH MY HIGH BEAMS ON. NISSAN NEEDS TO FIX THIS DEFECT BEFORE SOMEONE IS HURT OR KILLED. I TRY NOT TO DRIVE AT NIGHT, BUT I DO HAVE THINGS I NEED TO DO OR PEOPLE I NEED TO SEE THAT PUTS MY IN DRIVING AT NIGHT. I LOVE MY CAR AND I AM CLOSE TO PAYING IT OFF, SO I WON'T BE GOING INTO ANOTHER CAR LOAN. I WANT NISSAN TO FIX THIS DEFECTIVE ISSUE ASAP.
HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM THEY'RE BARELY LITE. TOOK VEHICLE TO THE RICHMOND NISSAN DEALERSHIP. RESULT: THE PROJECTORS ARE BAD AND THE ENTIRE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY HAS TO BE REPLACE ON BOTH LIGHTS!! QUOTED COST (PARTS AND LABOR): $1100 -$1200. I DECLINED THE SERVICE OFFERED. THERE ARE MANY, MANY, MANY LINKS AND DOCUMENTATION THAT THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM FOR NISSAN FOR YEARS WITH EARLIER 2000 YEAR CARS!!!! MINE IS A 2015. WHY HASN'T THERE BEEN A RECALL ORDER ON THESE PARTS? I DRIVE ON COUNTRY ROADS AND THE INTERSTAES WHICH ARE NOT LITE. PLEASE HELP!!

THE HEADLIGHTS ON THIS VEHICLE HAVE ALWAYS SUPPLIED POOR LIGHTING AND IT HAS GOTTEN WORSE EACH YEAR TO THE POINT NOW IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT. WE HAVE EVEN TRIED REPLACING THE BULBS AT OUR OWN EXPENSE WITH BRIGHTER ONES BUT IT DOES NOT HELP. ACCORDING TO STANHOPE NISSAN IT IS A COMMON COMPLAINT WITH THIS VEHICLE AND IT CAN ONLY BE RESOLVED BY REPLACING THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES WHICH WOULD COST OVER $1000. WE HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY BUT IT DOES NOT COVER IT. I TRIED CONTACTING NISSAN WITH THIS ISSUE AND THEY DON'T CARE. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL, PERIOD.
Mileage: 2,000
I AM TOLD AT THE NISSAN DEALER THAT THEY KNOW THAT THE PROJECTION LENS ON THE HEADLIGHTS ONLY LAST ABOUT 2 YEARS AND THEN THE CUSTOMER MUST SPEND ABOUT $1200 TO REPLACE THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLYS. THE DIM HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM, ON UNLIT ROADS, YOU MUST RUN THE BRIGHTS AT ALL TIMES IN ORDER TO SEE THE ROAD AND THE CURB. NISSAN DOES NOT HONOR ANY TYPE OF WARRANTY ON THIS ISSUE, HOWEVER THEY HAVE GIVEN THEIR SERVICE DEPT A BULLITIN SO THAT THEY KNOW OF THIS PROBLEM. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL.

OWN A 2015 ALTIMA WHERE THE HEADLIGHTS ARE DIM AND YELLOW DUE TO INTERNAL CORROSION AND THE PROJECTOR LENS IS OPAQUE, WHICH DIFFUSES THE LIGHT OUTPUT. VERY POOR LIGHTING
Mileage: 34,000
I'VE NOW REPLACED MY HEADLIGHTS A SECOND TIME IN LESS THAN A MONTH AND NO CHANGE. WHEN I DRIVE ON STREETS, HIGHWAYS, OR WHEN I TURN AT DARK I HAVE NO VISIBILITY FROM MY HEADLIGHTS.THE LIGHTS AREN'T PROEJECTING ENOUGH LIGHT SO THAT I CAN SEE THREE FEET AHEAD OF ME. OTHER VEHICLES PULL UP BEHIND ME AND THEIR HEADLIGHTS SHOW A SHADOW IN FRONT OF ME. NISSAN WANTS TO CHARGE ME $200 TO LOOK AT THEM TO TELL ME I WHAT'S WRONG. I'M CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF OTHERS.

THE DRIVER'SIDE LOW BEAM HEAD LIGHT DOES NOT PROVIDE ANY SIDE LIGHT ALL OR FRONT LIGHT GREATER THAN 10 FEET. THE LIGHT BULBS FOR BOTH LOW BEAMS WERE REPLACED WITH LED BULBS 02/03/2019, WHICH MADE NO DIFFERENCE IN THE DRIVER'S SIDE POWER. THE LACK OF LIGHT POWER MAKES DRIVING AT NIGHT EXTREMELY DIFFICULT ESPECIALLY LEFT TURNS WHICH HAS ALMOST CAUSED ME TO HAVE HAD AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THE INABILITY TO SEE DURING A LEFT TURN. THIS PROBLEM BEGAN IN JUNE 2017, THE CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW IN MARCH 2015.
Mileage: 50,020
THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY DIM AND THE DRIVER IS UNABLE TO SEE MORE THAN 10-15 FEET IN FRONT MAKING IT NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO NAVIGATE THE VEHICLE AT NIGHT TIME. A WRITTEN COMPLAINT WAS SENT DIRECTLY TO NISSAN WITH NO RESPONSE FOR THIS ISSUE. I SPOKE WITH THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND WAS TOLD THIS IS THE NATURE OF PROJECTOR LIGHTS. THE CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW AND HAS BEEN AN ISSUE FOR QUITE SOME TIME. IT IS TIME THAT I SPEAK UP BECAUSE THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY CONCERN AND I FEAR FOR MY FAMILY'S WELL BEING WHEN THEY DRIVE AT NIGHT. I NOTICED THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ON THIS SITE AS WELL AS THE INTERNET FOR THE SAME ISSUE. THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD CONSIDER A RECALL/ REPAIR OF THIS ISSUE BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT OR WORSE DUE TO LACK OF ADEQUATE LIGHTING AT NIGHT.
EXTREMELY DIM LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS. I CAN BARELY SEE MORE THAN A FEW CAR LENGTHS AHEAD OF ME AND IT FEELS VERY UNSAFE AT NIGHT. I NEED THIS TO BE FIXED.
Mileage: 65,000
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY DIM. LOW BEAM BULBS WERE REPLACED, AND LIGHTS ARE STILL VERY DIM. UNABLE TO SEE THE ROAD - ESPECIALLY WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC, IN THE RAIN, AND IN AREAS WITH SOME STREET LIGHTING. MUST USE HIGH BEAMS AT ALL TIMES TO BE ABLE TO SEE THE ROAD AT NIGHT AND IN THE RAIN. THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM.
Mileage: 125,000
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE EXTREMELY DIM, LIKE TO THE POINT OF NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE MORE THAN ONE FOOT IN FRONT OF THE CAR. I HAVE TRIED NEW BULBS AND DIFFERENT BULBS, TO NO AVAIL. THEY ARE HORRIBLE. THIS IS ONGOING FOR MORE THAN A YEAR.

THE HEADLIGHTS ON LOW BEAM ARE BECOMING LESS EFFECTIVE AT LIGHTING UP THE ROAD AT NIGHT. THIS BEGAN IN 2017, BUT HAS GOTTEN WORSE. THE HIGH BEAMS WORK JUST FINE, BUT THE LOW BEAMS ARE TERRIBLY DIM ON ROADS THAT HAVE NO STREET LIGHTS. ON ROADS WITH STREET LIGHTS, I FEEL LIKE I'M DRIVING WITH THE LIGHTS TURNED OFF. THE CAR IS BECOMING DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AT NIGHT.

I HAVE EXPERIENCED AN INCREASE IN LOSS OF ROADWAY VISIBILITY DUE TO THE MALFUNCTIONING AND DIMMING OF MY 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA HEADLIGHTS. I HAVE MADE SEVERAL DOCUMENTED COMPLAINTS TO NISSAN MOTOR CORP AND MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALER IN BRADENTON AND BRANDON, WHO ADVISED IT WOULD REQUIRE ME TO PAY A COSTLY REPAIR OUT OF POCKET. THE PROBLEM HAS WORSEN. I AM UNABLE TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE AT NIGHT, LIMITING MY SCHEDULE TO AN ALMOST HALT WHEN LEAVING FROM WORK. MY COMMUTE IS LONG AND DANGEROUS.THERE HAS BEEN NEAR MISS CAR ACCIDENTS ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS WHILE IN MOTION ON HIGHWAYS AND ROADWAYS. THE DIM LIGHTING IS POSING A RISK TO ME AS A DRIVER, I AM VISUALLY IMPAIRED AS WELL, PLEASE HELP SOON.

I HAVE NISSAN ALTIMA 2015 FOR 4 YEARS. I HAVE A REAL PROBLEM WITH HEADLIGHTS THAT LIMITED MY DRIVING DURING NIGHT OR DARK SITUATION. THE FIRST YEAR OF MY CAR, THE HEADLIGHTS WERE FINE AND WORK, BUT IN THE SECOND YEAR, HEADLIGHT BECOMES MORE DIMER. ON THE SECOND YEAR, I TOOK IT FOR VA INSPECTION, AND THE INSPECTOR TOLD ME TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR HEADLIGHTS. AFTER A WHILE I NOTICED, IT BECOMES MORE DIMER. I CANNOT SEE 10 FEET IN FRONT OF MY CAR. I ALMOST HATE TWO PERSON AND MANY TIMES I HATED THE ISLAND OR MIDDEN. I AM OK AND THE CAR DID NOT HAVE BIG DAMAGE OR PROBLEM. TODAY, I TOOK IT FOR YEARLY INSPECTION, AND THE INSPECTOR DID NOT PASS THE INSPECTION IN THE SAME KIND OF CONDITION. I PROMISE HER THAT I FIX MY CAR AND SHOW IT TO HER IN TWO WEEKS. OTHERWISE, SHE NEVER PASSED MY INSPECTION IN NEXT YEAR.
Mileage: 30
MY HEADLIGHTS STARTED DIMMING OVER A YEAR AGO, AND I CAN'T EVEN SEE THE GROUND IN FRONT OF MY CAR AT NIGHT. I'VE COMPLAINED TO ORR NISSAN, BOSSIER CITY, LA AND THEY ACT AS THOUGH THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT. I NEED THIS FIXED BY THEM IMMEDIATELY BEFORE A TRAGEDY OCCURS.
Mileage: 42,000
THE FIRST TIME I NOTICED THIS PROBLEM WAS ON A GIRLS TRIP TO ROCKPORT, TX ON SEPT 1, 2018. ONE OF THE LADIES ASKED IF MY HEADLIGHTS WERE ON. I SAID YES. SHE ASKED ME TO PULL OVER SO SHE CAN CONFIRM. SHE CONFIRMED THE LIGHTS WERE ON. ON SEPTEMBER 23, 2018 I WAS COMING BACK HOME ON A DARK HIGHWAY WITH MY SISTER WHEN WE FOUND COULD NOT SEE THREE FEET IN FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. IT APPEARED AS THOUGH I HAD NO HEADLIGHTS ON. I PULLED OVER TO CHECK AND THE HEADLIGHTS WERE ON. I GOT BACK IN THE CAR AND DROVE TO THE FIRST OPEN AUTO PARTS PLACE I COULD FIND ON A SUNDAY NIGHT AROUND 8PM. THE MAN SUGGESTED BULB REPLACEMENT. I REPLACED THE BULBS. HOWEVER, ON OCTOBER 20, 2018 I WAS AGAIN DRIVING AND ON A DARK ROAD WITH A LOT OF PEOPLE WALKING ON THE SIDE AND I NEARLY HIT A PERSON BECAUSE I DIDN'T SEE THEM BECAUSE OF THE POOR LIGHTING COME FROM THE HEADLIGHT. I WENT BACK TO THE AUTO PARTS STORE AND THE MAN SUGGEST A MORE EXPENSIVE BULBS AND AS OF TODAY OCTOBER 25, 2018 I STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I AM IN FEAR OF MY LIFE AND THE PEOPLE IN MY VEHICLE. I AM ABOUT TO DRIVE TO ARKANSAS IN TWO WEEKS. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD TO DRIVE THIS WAY. ALL CARS DRIVING NEXT TO ME HAVE MUCH MORE SIGNIFICANT LIGHTING FOR THE ROAD. NISSAN NEEDS TO RECALL AND REPLACE THESE DEFECTIVE, DANGEROUS, HEADLIGHTS THAT ARE FAILING SO NO ONE BECOME A CASUALTY.
Mileage: 110,000
HEADLIGHTS HAVE BECOME EXTREMELY DIM ON LOW BEAM. CANNOT SEE EVEN A FEW FEET AHEAD, CANNOT SEE ANYTHING ON THE SIDES LIKE CURBS. MAKES IT TREACHEROUS TO DRIVE AFTER DARK. I ALMOST HIT A PEDESTRIAN TWICE IN THE LAST MONTH BECAUSE I COULD NOT SEE THEM WITHOUT THE BRIGHTS ON. BARELY BRIGHT ENOUGH TO PICK UP ON THE REFLECTIVE BUTTONS THAT MARK LANES. CAN'T SEE ENOUGH OF THE STREET TO MAKE TURNS, WITHOUT RUNNING THE RISK OF MISSING THE LANE AND HITTING THE CURB OR ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE PROBLEM JUST AROSE IN THE LAST 2-3 MONTHS. PRIOR TO THAT THE HEADLIGHTS SEEMED FINE, AND I DO A LOT OF NIGHT DRIVING. SOME WITH CITY STREETLIGHTS, AND SOME ON ROADS WITH MINIMAL LIGHTING. LIGHTS MAY HAVE DIMMED GRADUALLY, BUT I FIRST NOTICED IT IN LATE AUGUST, EARLY SEPTEMBER 2018. AT THAT POINT IT WAS A VERY NOTICEABLE CHANGE. 2 PASSENGERS HAVE POINTED OUT THAT THEY DIDN'T THINK I EVEN HAD THE HEADLIGHTS TURNED ON. ON HIGH BEAM, THE LIGHTS WORK WONDERFULLY. UNFORTUNATELY, THAT IS NOT SAFE TO USE WHEN FACING ONCOMING VEHICLES OR WITH VEHICLES IN FRONT OF YOU. THIS IS NOT AN OXIDATION ISSUE OF THE LENS COVER. THE LENS IS CRYSTAL CLEAR STILL, AND THE CAR IS JUST NOW ABOUT 4 YEARS OLD. HAS 55000 MILES ON IT. IT SEEMS THERE ARE QUITE A FEW COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS FOR NISSAN ALTIMAS. I'M AFRAID SOMEONE WILL GET KILLED IN AN ACCIDENT BEFORE ANYTHING IS DONE TO CORRECT THE ISSUE. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THE PROBLEM AND HELP PREVENT SUCH A TRAGEDY.

DIM HEADLIGHTS, FLORIDA HIGHWAY PATROL GAVE ME A WARNING TICKET HE WAS CONCERNED WITH MY SAFETY AS THE LIGHTS ARE SO DIM. JOHN LEE NISSAN WANTS $4000 TO FIX THEM. I NEED HELP. I COMMUTE 112 MILES TO WORK AND I AM IN FEAR FOR MY SAFETY AND OTHERS.
I BOUGHT MY 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA NEW ON OCTOBER 1, 2014. BECAUSE I USUALLY DRIVE IN URBAN AREAS WITH GOOD STREET LIGHTING, I DID NOT NOTICE MY WEAK LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS UNTIL JULY 2, 2017. I WENT TO ONE DEALERSHIP WHICH TOLD ME MY LIGHTS WERE OK. I SUBSEQUENTLY GOT 'WARNINGS' FROM 2 POLICE OFFICERS WHO TOLD ME MY LIGHTS WERE TOO DIM. I THEN TOOK THE CAR TO ANOTHER NISSAN DEALERSHIP WHERE NO PROBLEM WAS FOUND. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE FIRST DEALERSHIP WHICH AGAIN FOUND NO PROBLEM. I THEN GOT PULLED OVER A THIRD TIME. TOOK MY CAR TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO CHANGED THE HEADLIGHTS (CHARGED ME ABOUT $150) WHICH DID NOT HELP. I THEN CALLED AND WROTE TO NISSAN: PHONE CUSTOMER SERVICE REFUSED TO TALK TO ME AND MY LETTER TO A COMPANY OFFICER WENT UNANSWERED. I THEN WENT TO ANOTHER MECHANIC SPECIALIZING IN HEADLIGHTS, SHOWED THEM MY ORIGINAL AND THE REPLACEMENT HEADLIGHTS (BOTH SETS WERE GOOD), SO HE SUGGESTED THAT I GET HID HEADLIGHTS. THOSE COST ABOUT $250, AND DID NOT HELP. WHEN I TOOK MY CAR TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN ALEXANDRIA, VA, THAT DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED MOISTURE IN MY HEADLIGHTS AND SAID THAT SINCE I'D ALWAYS GOTTEN MAINTENANCE AND REPAIRS AT A DEALERSHIP, THEY WOULD HAVE GOTTEN NISSAN TO SPLIT THE COST OF REPAIRS. BUT SINCE I'D HADHID HEADLIGHTS INSTALLED, I'D HAVE TO PAY THE ENTIRE $1,600 COST OF REPAIRS MYSELF. I'VE HAD TO DRIVE AT NIGHT WITH MY HIGH BEAMS ON. MY HEADLIGHTS ARE NOT STRONG ENOUGH TO REACH THE BUMPER OF THE CAR IN FRONT OF MINE WHILE STOPPED AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT. EARLY NEXT MONTH, I'M GOING TO PAY ANOTHER $500 FOR A NEW HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY + INSTALLATION OF FOG LIGHTS, BECAUSE THE MECHANIC AT THE SPECIALIZED SHOP (WHO HAS A 2014 NISSAN ALTIMA WITH THE SAME PROBLEM) SAYS THAT THIS IS A FAULTY DESIGN. ALL IN ALL, I'LL HAVE SPENT ALMOST $1,000 ON A PROBLEM NISSAN KNOWS ABOUT AND WON'T ADDRESS. I HAVE VIDEOS THAT CLEARLY SHOW THIS PROBLEM.
Mileage: 31,000
DRIVING AT NIGHT IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. THE HEADLIGHTS ARE ON YET YOU CAN BARELY SEE AHEAD OF YOU. AT TIMES YOU ARE FORCED TO TURN ON THE HIGH BEAMS WHICH ENDANGERS OTHER DRIVERS. I HAD EVEN RECEIVED A CITATION FOR FLASHING MY LIGHTS BECAUSE I WAS UNABLE TO CLEARLY SEE THE STREET SIGNS. THIS SITUATION IS PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS WHEN TURNING. THE PROBLEM IS YOU CANNOT SEE THE ROAD CLEARLY AND ENDS UP SOMETIMES IN THE WRONG LANE. I WAS MAKING A LEFT ONE NIGHT AND ENDED UP TOO FAR DOWN THE ROAD THAT I WAS ON. AS I WAS TRYING TO TURN, OTHER CARS WERE TURNING ON MY RIGHT ON A ONE LANE ROAD. I JUST COULD NOT SEE WELL ENOUGH TO FOLLOW THE CURVE. WHEN RIDING WITH OTHER PASSENGERS AT NIGHT, THEY NEVER FAIL TO ALERT ME TO THE FACT THAT MY HEADLIGHTS ARE OFF. I USUALLY HAVE A HARD TIME CONVINCING THEM THAT THEY ARE WRONG.

I WAS TOLD THAT MY LIGHTS SEEMED VERY DIMMED. BEING THAT I LIVE IN THE CITY FULL LIGHTS SO IT'S HARD TO TELL BUT I'VE NOTICED THE LAST COUPLE OF TIMES I'VE GONE OUT OF TOWN AND HAD TO TAKE DARKER ROADS, THE LIGHTING ON THE VEHICLE IS TERRIBLE. YOU CAN BARELY SEE 5FT IN FRONT OF YOU AND THAT'S VERY DANGEROUS WHILE DRIVING....SOMEONE NEEDS TO LOOK INTO THIS AND CORRECT THE PROBLEM.
MY LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY DIM MAKING IT VERY HARD TO DRIVE AT NIGHT AND IN DARK SITUATIONS. IT IS THE ONLY VEHICLE I HAVE AND I AM A NURSE THAT HAS TO TAKE CALL AND DRIVE AT NIGHT. MY SON AND I DROVE AT NIGHT FOR A BALLGAME AND I COULD BARELY SEE. I WENT TO AUTO ZONE AND O'REILLY'S AND BOTH PLACES TOLD ME REPLACING BULBS WOULDN'T HELP. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS.
HEADLIGHTS ARE EXTREMELY DIM. I GOT PULLED OVER TWICE BECAUSE MY HEADLIGHTS WERE TO DIN OR APPEAR TO BE OFF. I HAVE REPLACED THE BULBS BUT IT REMAINED THE SAME. THIS NEEDS TO BE RECALLED IMMEDIATELY BECAUSE IT A SAFETY ISSUE WHEN DRIVING IN THE RAIN AND AT NIGHT. I DRIVE A LOT AT NIGHT AND I HAVE TO USE MY HIGH BEAM AND THAT MAKES IT DANGEROUS FOR OTHER DRIVERS BECAUSE IT DISTRACTS THEM. WHY WON'T NISSAN RECALL THIS ISSUE?

LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE EXTREMELY DIM. EVEN AFTER INSTALLING NEW BULBS AND EVEN HID AND LED, THE FACTORY HALOGEN BULBS ARE EXTEMELY DIM. THEY ARE THE SAME BRIGHTNESS AS THE ORANGE SIDE MARKER LIGHTS. I CAN NOT DRIVE MY CAR AT NIGHT AND ITS A SHAME NISSAN WONT RECALL THIS BEING THEIR ARE THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF COMPLAINTS FOR THIS BODY STYLE 2013-2015. I FIND IT VERY BAD THAT I HAVE TO PAY $1,000 FOR THE DEALERSHIP TO TAKE MY BUMPER OFF TO INSTALL NEW HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES WHICH WILL DO THE SAME THING IN 2-3 YEARS.

LOW BEAMS ARE EXTREMELY DIM. IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO SEE AT NIGHT. EVEN HARDER TO SEE IF THERE IS RAIN. REPLACING THE BULB TO THE HIGHEST DEGREE DOES NOT SOLVE PROBLEM. MANY OWNERS HAVE COMPLAINED OF THE SAME PROBLEM. NISSAN IS AWARE BUT HAS NOT RECALLED. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE. I CAN ONLY SEE WITH THE HIGH BEAMS. THIS CAUSES PROBLEMS FOR OTHER DRIVERS. PLEASE AT LEAST INVESTIGATE THIS ISSUE.

HEADLIGHTS ARE EXTREMELY DIM AFTER REACHING ABOUT 75,000 MILES. I MOSTLY DO DAY DRIVING FOR WORK, BUT USE THE CAR A NIGHT FOR HOME USE TOO. I'VE REPLACED THE HEADLIGHTS TWICE NOW -EACH TIME GETTING THE NEXT BRIGHTER VERSION HEADLIGHT, BUT THEY'RE STILL, LITERALLY AS BRIGHT AS A CANDLE. CARS BEHIND ME CAST SHADOW IN FRONT OF ME AT NIGHT AND I CAN'T SEE ANYTHING UNLESS I PUT ON MY BRIGHTS. CARS IN FRONT OF ME GET ANNOYED WITH MY BRIGHTS.

THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE ENTIRELY INADEQUATE TO PROVIDE SUFFICIENT LIGHT INTENSITY AND FAIL TO SAFELY ILLUMINATE THE STREET AHEAD OF YOU. THIS CREATES A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION WHEN DRIVING AT NIGHT, WHILE RAINING, OR UNDER ANY LOW VISIBILITY CONDITIONS SINCE YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO SEE OBJECTS. THIS ISSUE WAS NOT PRESENT WHEN I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE NEW, BUT BECAME A SERIOUS SAFETY HAZARD AROUND 50,000 MILES. UNFORTUNATELY, I HAVE TO DRIVE WITH THE HIGH BEAMS AT NIGHT TO BE ABLE TO SAFELY SEE. SOMETIMES, WHEN I SWITCH TO LOW FOR AN ONCOMING VEHICLE, I SUDDENLY FIND MYSELF DRIVING COMPLETELY WITHOUT SUFFICIENT LIGHT.

I OWN A 2015 ALTIMA. I NOTICED I WAS HAVING TROUBLE SEEING AT NIGHT, SO I ASKED MY MECHANIC HOW MUCH NEW HEADLIGHTS WOULD COST. WHILE THEY WERE LOOKING OVER THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY THEY NOTICED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS APPEARED TO BE MELTING THE ASSEMBLY, CAUSING THE LIGHT TO DISTORT; HENCE MY TROUBLE SEEING AT NIGHT. I TOOK THE CAR TO MILFORD NISSAN WHO LOOKED IT OVER AND CHECKED ALL THE WIRING BUT SAID THAT THE DISTORTION WAS NOT THEIR ISSUE AS THE CAR HAS 48,000 MILES ON IT AND IS NO LONGER PROTECTED. I STATED THIS MADE NO SENSE TO ME AS THE CAR IS ONLY TWO YEARS OLD, AND WHAT EXACTLY DOES MILEAGE HAVE TO DO WITH HOW ELL THE HEADLIGHTS WORK. I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD NOT PAY FOR IT. AGAIN I ASKED FOR MORE CLARIFICATION AND STATED WOULD CONTACT NISSAN USA, AND AGAIN TOLD THIS WOULD REQUIRE A WHOLE NEW HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY AND THEY WERE NOT PAYING FOR IT. I DID AND THEY INVESTIGATED, AND SAID THE ISSUE WAS LOOKED AT BY THEIR DEALER AND IT FELL UNDER WEAR AND TEAR AND WAS NOT COVERED. I ASKED HOW EXACTLY THIS FELL UNDER WEAR AND TEAR AS HEADLIGHT AND MILEAGE ARE NOT CONNECTED, AND I AM UNABLE TO SEE CLEARLY AT NIGHT, AND THIS IS A NISSAN BUILD ISSUE, AND THEREFORE YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. I WAS TOLD IT WAS NOT AND THE CASE WAS CLOSED. I ASKED FOR SOMETHING IN WRITING AS I CANNOT SEE AT NIGHT AND WANT SOMETHING SAYING NISSAN LOOKED AT IT AND SATED THEIR WAS NOT A PROBLEM WORTH FIXING ON THEIR END, AND THAT YOU WOULD NOT ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY. MY WIFE AND I LOOKED ON LINE AND NOTICED THAT OTHER PEOPLE HAVE SIMILAR ISSUES WITH NISSAN VEHICLES AND HEADLIGHT VISIBILITY AT NIGHT. I ALSO INCLUDED PICTURES OF THE HEADLIGHT AND YOU CAN SEE WHERE THE HEAT HAS CLEARED A PATH AND DISTORTED THE LIGHT. THANK YOU TAKING THE TIME TO REVIEW MY CASE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE LOW BEAM HEADLAMPS WERE DIM. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THEY ADJUSTED THE LIGHTS HOWEVER, THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER BUT THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 7. UPDATED 08/16/16*LJ THE CONSUMER STATED IT WAS DIFFICULT TO DRIVE AT NIGHT, WITH JUST USING THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS. UPDATED 10/17/8/16.*JB

I RECENTLY SWITCHED FROM AN AUDI A6, WHICH USES HID BULBS TO A 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA 2.5 L. THIS MODEL USES HALOGEN BULBS, AS I HAVE DISCOVERED. I WAS DRIVING AT NIGHT DURING THE FIRST WEEK OF OWNING THE NISSAN AND HAD POOR VISIBILITY OF THE ROAD. I WAS DRIVING SLOWLY TOWARD A STOPLIGHT AND COULD NOT SEE THE SMALL STRIP OF MEDIAN TO MY LEFT AS I WAS COMING TO THE STOPLIGHT. I HIT IT, AND THE SIDEWALL IN THE PASSENGER-SIDE TIRE BLEW OUT. I LATER LOOKED UP THE VEHICLE SAFETY REPORT ON THIS MODEL AND I SEE THAT IT RECEIVED A "POOR" UNDER THE "HEADLIGHTS" SECTION OF THE IIHS WEBSITE. SEE: HTTP://WWW.IIHS.ORG/IIHS/RATINGS/VEHICLE/V/NISSAN/ALTIMA-4-DOOR-SEDAN/2015 I FEEL VERY UNSAFE IN THIS CAR. I HAVE NOT HAD ANY SUCH COLLISION WITH A MEDIAN OR OTHERWISE IN OVER TEN YEARS. I JUST CAN'T SEE AT NIGHT WITH THIS NEW CAR.

LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS DANGEROUSLY LOW LIGHT LEVELS WHILE DRIVING DURING NIGHT TIME CONDITIONS. HIGH BEAMS ARE ALMOST ALWAYS USED TO DRIVE AT NIGHT, AS THE CARS LOW BEAMS ARE UNFIT TO DRIVE. CONTACTED MANUFACTURER, SUPPOSEDLY DID AN INVESTIGATION WITH THE DEALER. THEY DIDN'T EVEN CONTACT THE CORRECT DEALER ABOUT THE HEADLIGHT ISSUE.
