I am unable to see at night because my headlights are dim but keep passing inspection, and I am afraid I am going to crash... I have complained to my Nissan dealership since the recall was in effect but it has expired and I continuously pass inspection but when I drive at night I have to use high beams and can not see a thing. This is my 4th attempt for help. I almost hit a deer the other night. The lights are so dim that it seems that they are not even on..I have to turn my high beams on just to see and I was warned that I can recieve a ticket for driving with high beams on..I went to the Nissan company and they said there was nothing they could because they didn't honor the recall on the headlight assemblies anymore and I would have to pay $1500 to replace them. I'm disabled and can not afford to do that..what else can Nissan do I am getting ready to get rid of this and advise everyone of Nissan practices.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a failed sun visor. The contact was informed that the driver's side sun visor assembly needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. In addition, the contact stated that the failure impaired his vision while driving. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

Hood latch will not release. Suspect the latch or components under the hood, similar to other Nissan Altima's that were recalled for same issue, failed similarly and now repairs and or quick access to engine bay in the event of an emergency is impossible without first repairing the latch and components involved. Called Nissan dealership they said some Nissan Altima's had been recalled for the same issue, but not mine. No indication of failure until owner attempted to open the hood. Hood had opened up till the last service at a Nissan dealership. Scheduled repair at a Nissan dealership at my own expense since it isn't covered under recalls like other Nissan Altima's.

The contact steered to the side of the road where the passenger slammed the hood down to latch the hood securely. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed and determined that the hood latch needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The contact stated that the failure caused damage to the fenders and the hood. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 112,000.

Hello, On October 15th, close to 5 pm, I was driving on a busy highway surrounded by other cars when suddenly, the hood of my 2015 Nissan Altima slammed into my windshield. There was damage to the hood, a cracked windshield, the left side wheel was pulling to the side, and there was damage done near the sunroof top of my car. The interior light box inside the car was hanging. My insurance was made aware of the incident. I am a 67-year-old woman. I and others on that highway could have lost our lives. Please get in touch with me asap about this horrific incident. Photos were taken of the damages.

The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the driver’s side sun visor would independently lower, causing a visibility hazard. The contact initially spoke with the dealer who referred him to the manufacturer for assistance. The manufacturer was then notified and referred him to NHTSA to report a safety complaint. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 54,000. The consumer stated the vehicle was serviced and sun visor was replaced on Aug. 30, 2022.

I WAS NOTIFIED BY THE CAR SHARING PLATFORM THAT I ADVERTISE MY CAR ON THAT IT HAD A RECALL SUMMER OF 2020 AND THAT I COULD NOT PUT MY CAR ON THE PLATFORM UNTIL THE SAFETY ISSUE WAS REPAIRED. THE SAFETY ISSUE IS MOSTLY PREVALENT WHERE THERE IS A LOT OF SALT USED FOR DEICING THE ROADWAYS ON THE EAST COAST. I AM ON THE WEST COAST SO DOES NOT APPLY TO ME. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO MAKE ANY MONEY WITH MY CAR WHICH IS THE ONLY REASON I PURCHASED IT. I CHECKED TODAY AND THERE IS STILL NO FIX... FOR A HOOD LATCH!! I CAN NOT SELL THE CAR AS AN ACTIVE RECALL, EVEN A MINOR ONE SUCH AS THIS, DEVALUES MY CAR AND I WOULD STILL OWE ON MY LOAN. NISSAN DRAGGING THEIR FEET ON THIS FIX HAS RESULTED IN ME LOSING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS IN INCOME.

IN 2018, WHILE FILLING UP MY GAS, I ACCIDENTALLY PULLED THE HOOD RELEASE LEVER INSTEAD OF MY GAS RELEASE LEVER. AFTER PULLING AWAY, WHILE DRIVING THE HOOD RELEASED AND FLEW UP TO MY WINDOW, CAUSING DAMAGE ALONG THE HOOD. SINCE THIS INCIDENT, I HAVE BEEN GOING BACK AND FORTH WITH NISSAN TO GET IT REPAIRED. THEY INITIALLY DENIED THAT IT WAS THE HOOD LATCH PROBLEM, AS AT THE TIME, MY VIN NUMBER WASN'T INCLUDED IN THE RECALLS (ALTHOUGH WHAT HAPPENED TO ME WAS EXACTLY WHAT WAS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL). I WAS ABLE TO GET AN APPOINT WITH NISSAN CORP WHO INSPECTED MY CAR AND CLAIMED THAT THE DAMAGE WAS A RESULT OF RUSTING TO THE HOOD LATCH SO THERE WASN'T ANYTHING THEY COULD DO. NOW THAT MY VIN NUMBER IS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL, I TRIED AGAIN TO GET THE DAMAGE REPAIR/COST COVERED, BUT THEY CONTINUE TO DENY MY REQUEST STATING THE RUST CAUSED IT. (THIS RECALL STATES THAT RUST WILL FORM AND CAUSE THE ACCIDENT) I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO TURN TO NOW AS NISSAN IS BEING IMPOSSIBLE TO GET HELP FROM. NOW, EVEN THE HOOD RELEASE LEVER ISN'T WORKING.

BEING THAT MY CAR IS A 2015 MODEL, I NAIVELY EQUATED IT TO AGE AND LIGHTBULB DIMNESS; WHICH WAS NOT THE CASE. I SWAPPED HEAD LIGHT BULBS, TO NO AVAIL; I OPTED FOR THE MOST EXPENSIVE HEAD LIGHT BULB IN AUTOZONE, BUT STILL HELLA DIM. IN MY MOST RECENT VISIT TO SHEEHY NISSAN SERVICE, A RECOMMENDED SERVICE IS TO "REPLACE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY/BAD REFLECTIONS." IN ADDITION TO THE SERVICE BEING RECOMMENDED, I WAS INFORMED THAT IT HAS BEEN A PROBLEM VOICED TO SERVICE TECHS BY MANY OTHER 2015 NISSAN ALTIMA OWNERS.

THE SECONDARY HOOD LATCH RECALL HAS BEEN OUTSTANDING WITHOUT A REMEDY FIX FOR TO LONG. IT CAME OUT MAY OF 2020. IN 4 MONTHS IT WILL BE A YEAR. I'M NOT ABLE TO DO MY SECOND JOBS WITH THE OUTSTANDING RECALL. THIS NEEDS TO BE FIXED ASAP. NISSAN NEEDS TO PROVIDE CUSTOMER WITH A LOANER UNTIL SOMETHING IS DONE BECAUSE IT'S A SAFETY ISSUE AND I DON'T WANT THE HOOD FLYING UP.

I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, HEADING HOME AND RANDOMLY THE HOOD ON THE CAR FLEW OPEN. I BELIEVE THE HOOD LATCH IS FAULTY DUE TO THE RECALL. I WAS DRIVING AT 40 MPH ON THE HWY. MY VIEW WAS OBSTRUCTED BUT I SAFELY PULLED THE VEHICLE IN TO THE SERVICE LANE. I HOPPED OUT THE CAR TO CHECK THE DAMAGES AND NOTICE THE FRONT PANELS ON BOTH SIDES OF MY VEHICLE WAS BROKE BECAUSE OF THE HOOD LATCH FLYING OPENED. LUCKILY MY WINDSHIELD DID NOT BREAK DUE TO THIS BECAUSE AS THE DRIVER I'VE COULD'VE BEEN INJURED. THE HOOD WOULD NOT SAFELY CLOSED AND I HAD TO DRIVE SLOW ON THE STREET TO MAKE HOME SAFELY. GEICO INSURANCE HAS PICTURES AND MORE EXPLANATIONS OF THE DAMAGES.

MY WIFE'S 2015 ALTIMA 2.5 SL HAS A TREMENDOUS WATER LEAK ON THE DRIVERS SIDE FILLING THE CABIN WITH INCHES OF WATER. THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN GARAGE KEPT FOR THE 5YRS, BUT WITH THE PURCHASE OF MY NEW CAR WE KNOW KEEP THE ALTIMA IN THE DRIVEWAY. AFTER A RECENT RAIN I NOTICED A VERY STRONG MUSTY, MOLDY ODOR AND THE SOUND OF WATER AS I BACKED OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY, AS I REACHED LEVEL GROUND MY FEET WHERE SOAKED WITH WATER. I HAVE HAD THE DRAIN TUBES CLEANED AND CLEARED AS THIS WAS MENTION TO ME AT THE DEALERSHIP AS A COMMON PROBLEM. THIS DID NOT FIX THE WATER LEAK AND NISSAN REQUIRES $475 TO CHECK THE PROBLEM FURTHER. I DID A SEARCH ONLINE AND NOTICED THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH NISSAN VEHICLES, AS THIS WATER LEAK SEEM TO COME FROM FAULTY STRUCTURAL WELDING IT'S A SAFETY HAZARD TO THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM AND SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE AS A WHOLE, WE NOW EXPERIENCE SLIGHT ELECTRICAL GLITCHES WITH OUR ALTIMA WHICH AGAIN I FEEL IS A SAFETY HAZARD.

ON 8/8/2020 I WAS GOING TO MY NIECE'S BIRTHDAY PARTY. WHILE THE CAR WAS IN MOTION ON THE BELTWAY, MY HOOD POPPED UP 5 TIMES. I HAD TO CONTINUOUSLY PULL OVER ON THE SHOULDER OF THE BELTWAY (WHICH IS VERY DANGEROUS) TO KEEP RE-CLOSING THE HOOD. I WAS VERY SCARED AND CONCERNED THE HOOD WOULD FLY UP WHILE I WAS DRIVING WHICH WOULD CAUSE ME NOT TO BE ABLE TO SEE THE ROAD AT ALL. THIS WAS NOT THE FIRST TIME THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED. IT'S BEEN HAPPENING ON AND OFF FOR AT LEAST 2 WEEKS. ON 8/10/2020 I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR REGULAR MAINTENANCE AND TO MY SURPRISE NISSAN DOESN'T HAVE A FIX TO THIS PROBLEM. I NOW HAVE TO BE WITHOUT MY VEHICLE FOR HOW EVER LONG UNTIL NISSAN CAN COME UP WITH A TEMPORARY FIX AND WAS NOT OFFERED A LOANER VEHICLE. I AM HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED WITH NISSAN AND I HAVE BEEN A CUSTOMER FOR YEARS.

I CALLED NISSAN AND THEY ARE NOT ACCEPTING RESPONSIBILITY. THE VEHICLE IS DEVELOPING MOLD AND ELECTRICAL ISSUES. IT IS NOT SAFE TO SIT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND IS A MAJOR HEALTH AND SAFETY ISSUE. THIS IS MANUFACTURING ISSUE BUT THE DEALERSHIP IS ATTEMPTING TO MAKE ME PAY FOR REPAIRS SINCE THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY.

I GOT OUT OF THE CAR AND PRESSED ON IT (TO BE SURE IT WAS CLOSED) AND DROVE AWAY FROM THE GAS STATION. I WAS DRIVING 30 MILES PER HOUR WHEN THE HOOD LET GO AND HYPEREXTENDED AND FLEW UP IN FRONT OF ME AND I WAS UNABLE TO SEE ANYTHING.

I LEARNED OF THE RECALL FOR THE WINDOW HITTING THE DOOR RELEASE AND REPORTED IT TO MY LOCAL NISSAN SERVICE CENTER WHERE I TOOK IT AS WELL AS TO NISSAN NA. I WAS GIVEN A CASE NUMBER AND A REPRESENTATIVE CONTACTED ME TODAY TO LET ME KNOW THAT MY VIN IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL AND THAT NISSAN WILL NOT DO ANYTHING FOR ME, EVEN THOUGH THIS IS DANGEROUS! ON 12/30/2018 I HAD JUST LEFT THE PARKING LOT OF THE LOCAL WALMART AND WAS AT A COMPLETE STOP FOR A STOPLIGHT ON THE CORNER OF COUNTY HWY Z AND STATE ROAD 13, WAITING TO TURN LEFT. NISSAN CLAIMS IS NOT A WARRANTY-ABLE FAILURE DUE TO "NATURE" BEING SOURCE OF WATER WHICH FLOODED THROUGH FIREWALL. GOING AT SPEEDS OF 55-75+ ALL SEATS FEEL AS IF THEY'RE GOING TO DETACH FROM THE BOTTOM COMPARTMENT. WHEELS ON THIS SEDAN ARE AT RECOMMENDED PSI 35-40 YET GOING AT 55-75 SPEEDS IT FEELS AS IF I'M RIDING A HORSE WITH DIFFERENT TYPES OF MEASURES ON EACH SIDE. FRONT WINDOW ALONG WITH REAR END WINDOW HAVE BOTH BEEN DISLOCATED FROM ITS ORIGINAL POSITION. MY CAR IS SLOWLY BREAKING DOWN AT 7.2K MILES BRAND NEW. RECENTLY WENT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP CAR LOAN WAS MADE AND OBVIOUSLY EVERYTHING WAS FINE. I'M NOT GOING TO DEAL WITH THEIR LITTLE GAME. IT'S A MATTER OF TIME UNTIL THE BODY ON THIS SEDAN BREAKS APART. I HAVE HAD NO CAR ACCIDENTS, PROBLEMS BEGAN AS FIRST OIL CHANGE WAS PERFORMED NOV 11 2015. IT'S BECOMING VERY DIFFICULT TO MANAGE VEHICLE ON HIGHWAY AS IT GOES LEFT OR RIGHT AS WIND HITS FRONT/REAR. HAVE PERSONALLY TRIED FIGURING OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM IS HAVE NOTICED A LOT OF BLACK GOO REAR AREA BY TIRES, FRONT END, UNDER BACK SEATS, UNDER PASSENGER AND DRIVER SEAT. AT TIMES I FEEL AS IF THE RIGHT SIDE IS SUSPENDED A BIT MORE THAN THE LEFT, AND VISE VERSA. NOISE LEVEL HAS INCREASED SIGNIFICANTLY WITH ALL WINDOWS AND DOORS CLOSED. CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW IN LATE APRIL 2015. WHEN I OPENED THE TRUNK OF THE VEHICLE FOR THE FIRST TIME, I NOTICED THERE WAS RUST IN THE SPOT WELDS ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE TRUNK. FRONT BUMPER ALSO STARTED TO POP OUT ON BOTH SIDES AFTER DRIVING IT THE FIRST DAY AND IS RUBBING AND PEELING PAINT FROM FRAME OF VEHICLE. REAR WINDSHIELD WAS PUSHED ALL THE WAY TO THE LEFT WITH A LARGE GAP TO THE RIGHT. THIS IS A BIG SAFETY ISSUE. FRONT FASCIA MISALIGNED FROM FACTORY AND RUST EATING AWAY AT MAIN FRAME OF VEHICLE DESPITE THERE BEING NO SCRATCHES OR DAMAGE TO VEHICLE. BOTH SIDE SKIRTS MISALIGNED. ALL DOORS SIGNIFICANTLY MISALIGNED FROM FACTORY. POWER STEERING WHINES AND TRANSMISSION GROANS AND SHIFTS ERRATICALLY. CAR DOES NOT DRIVE STRAIGHT AT SPEEDS 55+ AND WANDERS BETWEEN LANES. IT TAKES MUCH EFFORT TO KEEP IT STRAIGHT. TRUNK LID NOT ALIGNED PROPERLY. BBB MANDATED NISSAN TO REPURCHASE VEHICLE AND BRAND IT AS A LEMON DUE TO SERIOUS SAFETY DEFECTS & NON-CONFORMITIES. NISSAN FAILED TO FIX REAR WINDSHIELD AFTER ONE ATTEMPT AND FAILED TO FIX OTHER ISSUES AFTER 3 REPAIR ATTEMPTS. CAR HAS BEEN AT DEALERSHIP FOR 28+ DAYS. NISSAN FAILED TO CALCULATE CORRECT REPURCHASE NUMBERS AND NISSAN STILL REFUSES TO FIX VEHICLE. AFTER MY PROTESTING, NISSAN REPAIRED REAR WINDSHIELD BUT STRUCTURALLY, THE REST OF THE CAR REMAINS A SAFETY ISSUE. AN INVESTIGATION SHOULD BE LAUNCHED. I REQUEST NHSTA TO INSPECT THE QUALITY AND BUILD OF THIS VEHICLE AS IT ENDANGERS MY SAFETY AND THOSE OF OTHER DRIVERS AROUND ME. I AM STILL IN POSSESSION OF THIS VEHICLE.

THE VEHICLE "HIGH CENTERED" AT VARIOUS PLACES ON SPEED HUMPS, SOME OF WHICH REQUIRED BACKING UP TO SPARE WORSE AFFECTS. EARLY DAMAGE IS INEVITABLE, AND UNSAFE, AND COSTLY. FREQUENTLY THE VEHICLE SCRAPES AT PARKING BARRIERS AND CURBS. IN NO WAY CAN IT BE DRIVEN ON A PASTURE ROAD OF RUTS AND CENTER RIDGED ELEVATIONS, BOTH FOR "HIGH CENTERING" AND CATCHING PLANT LIFE ON FIRE DUE TO DRAGGING THE VEHICLE BOTTOM ON THE CENTER RIDGE. THE REAR CAMERA IS MORE DISTRACTING THAN BENEFICIAL, SINCE ABOUT FIVE VIEWS MUST BE MADE WHEN MOVING IN REVERSE, AND THE CAMERA VIEW, THE 6TH, IS SO INCONCLUSIVE.

I AM UNABLE TO CLOSE THE HOOD OF MY CAR COMPLETELY. THE HOOD LATCH IS LOOSE AT ALL TIMES AND I AM UNABLE TO USE THE "OPEN HOOD" BUTTON ON THE INTERIOR. I NEVER RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM NISSAN. HOWEVER, WHEN I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR IT'S FIRST SERVICE APPOINTMENT AT EDISON NISSAN DEALERSHIP (04/21/2015), THE SERVICE TECHNICIAN REPORTED THAT THE RECALL WAS ADDRESSED AND SERVICED. TODAY ON 08/10/2015, THE HOOD POPPED OPEN AND I AM UNABLE TO CLOSE IT. I HAVE TRIED TO CONTACT THE DEALERSHIP TO SET UP A REPAIR, BUT NO SERVICE MANAGERS OR STORE MANAGERS WERE AVAILABLE TO DISCUSS MY CONCERNS AND THE REPRESENTATIVE WAS UNABLE TO SET UP A COURTESY LOANER CAR FOR ME TOMORROW, WHICH WOULD ALLOW ME TO DROP OFF MY CAR FOR REPAIR AND STILL GET TO WORK.
