The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that the air bag warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with curtain air bags failure. The dealer provided an estimate for the repair, and the contact was informed that the cost of the repair would not be covered because the vehicle was out of warranty. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 102,464.

I am experiencing an issue with the airbag light on my 2017 Nissan Altima S model, which is showing code B0020. This airbag code indicates a problem with the passenger side airbag system, typically caused by damaged wiring, a malfunctioning seat sensor, or a loose connector beneath the driver's seat. The repair quote from my local Nissan dealership ranges from $1728 to $3500, depending on the faulty components and the labor required for installation. This is a recognized problem for Nissan, and their failure to address it raises significant concerns regarding safety. Currently, I am uncertain about how to proceed with the repair due to the high costs involved.
Air bag indicator light turns on indicating a failure of the airbag system. I understand this disables this safety system putting all passengers at risk. The dealer advised the issue is caused by the driver seat side airbag wiring failure. From reading other users, this appears to be a common issue due to severe bends of the wiring from the connector to the airbag. To me this is a design failure which normally does not occur. The cost is ~3000 USD to replace the seat back.
Water leak...from trunk and sunroof....electrical problems airbag light on and off.....sensor issues i paid out of pocket.
The air bag sensor light is on continuously. According to the manual it indicates there is something wrong with our airbag. After reading several comments from individuals this seems to be a problem with many.
Airbag light sensor is on in the dashboard
Air bag sensor light comes on; took to Nissan Glen Burnie MD dealership and believed they rectified the issue (removing debris) and did a reset. Light came back on and took it to Nissan Bowie MD and they could not determine the cause and did a reset. Light came back on and took it to Nissan Bowie MD and B0020-13 code was returned resulting in having to replace seat and sensor (no issue with wiring found). Contacted Nissan after seeing many other complaints for same issue with Altima sensor. No help from Nissan since they don't have it listed for a recall. This represents a major safety issue as my understanding is the air bag is not active when the light is on.
Accident Description: On August 2024, a 2016 Nissan Altima SL was being driven at a low speed through a residential neighborhood under clear and dry conditions. The ambient temperature was between 85 and 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Without any prior warning or external impact, the vehicle's airbag system suddenly and unexpectedly deployed. Both the driver and front seat passenger, who were wearing seat belts. Additionally, the vehicle's door locks appeared to malfunction, impeding the passenger's exit. The vehicle has approximately 76,000 miles and is not currently under recall. Component or System Failure: The airbag system, including the airbag modules and potentially the door lock mechanism, malfunctioned. The vehicle is currently undergoing inspection by the insurance company and will be made available for inspection by NHTSA upon request. Safety Risk: The unexpected deployment of the airbags while the vehicle was at a low speed posed a significant safety risk to the occupants. The injuries sustained, including neck, shoulder, and back pain, demonstrate the potential for serious harm. Furthermore, the malfunctioning door locks hindered passenger egress and could have exacerbated the situation in a more severe accident such as if this would have happened on an expressway or highway at a high rate of speed with other vehicles involved, this would have been a deadly accident. Reproduction or Confirmation: The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center yet. Inspections: The vehicle is currently scheduled to undergoing inspection by the insurance company. No inspections by the manufacturer, police, or other parties have been conducted yet. Warning Signs: No warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms indicating an issue with the airbag system was observed prior to the incident.
Air bag light is on and occupant classification sensor is malfunctioning. Passenger airbag will not deploy in the event of an accident.
My airs bags lights on it won’t go off The contact is hoping for a recall relating to this issue or defect.
air bag light stays on error code B0020-13 they repaired occupancy sensor drivers side at a cost of $310.00 light went off came back on next day took it back to nissan they reset it again they said they would reach out to nissan so the light next day come back on
I have a 2016 Nissan Altima S. The airbag light is on without accident. I went four times to the Nissan dealer to fix the problem. They just told me it was a past code (B0020-13), cleared it the first three times, and told me the problem was on the driver-side airbag. But after a few months, the airbag light was still on again. I was told the problem was on the passenger side the last time. Ask me to replace the airbag module and seat back; the parts cost $3110, and the labor is $2600. It is ridiculous... The airbag is the car safety system; the parts have never been used before, so it should be okay if there is no accident.
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while driving at unknown speeds, the air bag warning illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who informed the contact that the failure was due to the air bag sensor module in the seat. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the air bag sensor module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.

Air bag light is on. Was told at Nissan dealing I need to have a module replaced in the driver seat for $2,300.
The airbag light will. Not go off
My air bag light is on and will not go out. I have not been in a accident and I am aware of the previous recall on the air bags back in 2016. I tried to have the Nissan dealership in Lithia Springs, GA check on the issue, but they stated they would have to keep the car for at least 3 days to be able to review the problem. I am unable to be without my vehicle for 3+ days for a known issue with the air bags on these cars. My current mileage is around 86,000. I estimate the airbag warning light came on around 75,000. I can't afford to correct this manufacturer defect that could possibly cost my life in an accident if Nissan doesn't fix this soon. I see so many reports of this problem on the nhtsa website, but still no recall has been issued since the original one in 2016. I guess I or my family will just have to sue Nissan if I end up in a accident and the airbags don't deploy. This is really scary how many people are having the same issue with these cars that were under the original recall. It is clear that this is an ongoing issue that needs to be addressed ASAP.
Based on the air bag warning light showing on my 2016 Nissan Altima I had Lia Nissan of Glens Falls, NY conduct a diagnostic inspection to determine the cause the noted warning light problem on February 22,2023. The technician determined that the air bag system in the back of the passenger seat was not functioning properly with a related code B0020-13 side a/b ih (open). To correct this problem, module i/f seat back, part #87650-phs7a, needed to be replaced at a cost of $2128. The noted part is the entire back side of the passenger seat where the air bag is housed. They also informed me that unless the needed repair was done, the entire air bag system throughout the car would not function, thus creating a major safety hazard. Upon further investigation, I discovered there is a NHTSA recall, #16V244000 dated 2016-04-25, Air Bag: Sensor: Occupant Classification. This recall notice directly relates to problems with the functioning of the front passenger [OCS] air bag system. Noting the potential for non-deployment of the frontal air bag and risk of injury. Upon my contacting Nissan USA and the above noted dealer, they claim no recall exists. The above noted NHTSA recall noted does reflect a clear correlation between my existing air bag system malfunction and the recall mandate for Nissan to address. Instead, they simply claim there is no recall on this vehicle, of which, I strongly disagree. In the meantime, all passengers in my vehicle are at risk. Since there have been no accidents or issues that I have created, it appears very clear that this is a safety equipment problem which Nissan is responsible for and has already been directed to address based the NHSTA recall. It would be appreciated if this matter is addressed since no action by Nissan is forthcoming.
The "Airbag off" light often illuminates when a 130lb adult is sitting in the passenger seat. I assume this means the airbag is disabled, a severe issue.
My airbag light is on. It just came on one day. (No accident or anything else to cause this to happen) I checked to see if a recall was on my vehicle but it was not. There are other Nissan Altima"s that have a recall for this reason.
The light for airbags stays on. It has been on for about two weeks. I see there is a recall call for this problem but it is not coming up with a recall for my vehicle.
About a month ago my driver side airbag indicator light came on. I called the dealership and they said there were no recalls on my airbag nor had any airbag been repaired. I took my vehicle to an independent mechanic and he told me that the module was disconnected from the airbag and he reconnected it and reset the module and the light indicator went off. Yesterday, the airbag indicator light came on again. It came off and on several times yesterday and this morning. I was told by the private mechanic that when the airbag indicator light is on the airbag will not deploy. Is my vehicle under the Takata airbag recall even though my dealership says no?
car was in a accedent the air bags did not deploy
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while sitting in the driver's side front seat, the air bag light failed to detect occupancy and was not illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a faulty air bag sensor. The contact was informed that the air bag sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 74,000.

As we were getting the highway the breaks had failed and then we some were able to get off the highway but the steering wheel cruise control decided it was gonna work by itself it was a very accident. And not only that my identity has been affected so bad because of the situation with mission and the dealership that I’m unable to use my name for anything anymore my credits ruined and now they want 18 grand for me to pay off the vehicle that’s they purposely made the car look like a rebuild so it was no longer covered I guess because the person set up the insurance with Geico and actually some how have me insurance in my father dl number and later on start changing stuff removing the insurance forging documents My name is [XXX] Email is [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the air bag sensor light illuminated and remained illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to a local dealer who inspected the vehicle but was unable to duplicate the failure. The dealer cleared and reset the air bag sensor however, after several months the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and the contact was informed that the air bag sensor needed to be replaced; however, due to the cost for the repair the vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 73,547.

Airbag light came on dashboard all of a sudden there was recall before with airbag I called Nissan is doing nothing that issue thanks please help
For the past two years I have been experiencing dim headlights. I have had them change twice and still cannot see 5 feet ahead of me. I was unaware that this could be a common problem with this model. Also, the passenger air light stays on even when no one is sitting in the seat. this problem started about six months ago. Now I think the transmission maybe starting to slip.
Transmission seems to get stuck and not want to move at times. Airbag light on dash and some times shows pass air bag light off when there is a passenger in the seat.
Passenger airbag light is always on. Nissan dealership said it is something with the sensor. Not covered under warranty. This should be recalled! I didn't do anything to make this mechanism screw up...
Airbag light is on and Nissan dealership says they may have to replace up to 3 components to find the problem, not covered in warranty
Air bag lights stays on and has been sense the car had 60,000 miles i spoke to the dealer and would not take care of it back then saying the warranty was out and im at 70,000 light still on dash and ive seen multiple recalls on the lass air bad module. I believe my call is a recall for that as well air bag light stays off when front passenger are in the car or out the car
I RECENTLY PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN FEBRUARY OF THIS YEAR. UPON DRIVING A FEW TIMES, THE AIR BAG SENSOR LIGHT APPEARS AND STAYS ON MY DASH ALONG WITH WHEN I HAVE A PASSENGER IN THE CAR, THE PASSENGER AIR BAG SENSOR DOES NOT TURN OFF. IT IS NOW MARCH AND I STILL HAVE THE SAME ISSUE. ACCORDING TO THE CARFAX REPORT I RECEIVED WHEN PURCHASING THE VEHICLE, A MAINTENANCE CHECK WAS CONDUCTED BY THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALER CLOSE TO ME IN JANUARY, IT ONLY SHOWS THE CURRENT RECALL OF A HOOD LATCH (20V315 - THAT APPARENTLY NO PART IS AVAILABLE FOR). I WAS ADVISED BY A SERVICE REPAIR REPRESENTATIVE THAT THE AIR BAG SENSORS UNDER THE PASSENGER SEAT ARE BROKEN AND WERE NOT REPAIRED DURING THAT MAINTENANCE CHECK. I QUESTIONED AS TO WHY WITH NO EXPLANATION GIVEN. I ADVISED THAT THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN AND SHOULD FALL BACK UNDER THE RECALL FROM 2016 (16V244) WITH THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE STATING THAT IT DOESN'T!! IS IT POSSIBLE FOR THIS TO BE FIXED UNDER THAT RECALL OR DOES A NEW RECALL HAVE TO BE IN EFFECT?? LOOKING OUT FOR THE SAFETY OF MYSELF AND FELLOW PASSENGERS. THANK YOU FROM A VERY CONCERNED VEHICLE OWNER.

I WAS RECENTLY INFORMED BY TWO NISSAN DEALERSHIPS THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG IS NOT DESIGNED TO DEPLOY FOR PASSENGERS WEIGHING LESS THAN 140 POUNDS. I UNDERSTAND THAT THIS IS DESIGNED TO PROTECT CHILDREN; HOWEVER, THERE ARE MANY, MANY ADULTS WEIGHING LESS THAN 140 POUNDS AND THIS WOULD PUT THEM AT SIGNIFICANT RISK FOR INJURY IN AN ACCIDENT. THANK YOU. ANDREA OLIVERA

I HAVE A 2016 NISSAN ALTIMA. FIRST: I WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT IN WHICH A REGULAR TRUCK HAULING AN ENCLOSED TRAILER DROVE OVER A LARGE PIECE OF PLYWOOD ON THE INTERSTATE AT 70MPH IN FRONT OF ME (ALSO GOING ABOUT 70 MPH) CAUSING THE PIECE OF PLYWOOD TO RAISE OFF OF THE ROAD AFTER HE CLEARED IT AND IT FLEW INTO THE FRONT OF MY VEHICLE AND BOUNCED UP ONTO THE HOOD AND THEN HIT THE ROOF BEFORE FLYING OFF OF MY CAR. DURING THIS PROCESS, PIECES OF THE PLYWOOD BECAME STUCK IN THE GRILL AREA OF MY CAR. THERE WERE NO INJURIES, THANKFULLY, BUT I AM CONCERNED THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. SECOND: I'VE HAD THIS CAR SINCE JULY OF 2019. OVER THE PAST 6 MONTHS I HAVE NOTICED THAT WHEN I PRESS THE GAS, THE RPMS RISE BUT THE TRANSMISSION TAKES A BIT TO SHIFT INTO GEAR CAUSING A LAG IN ACCELERATION. I HAVE ALSO NOTICED THAT IF I AM AT A LIGHT OR A STOP AND SHIFT INTO DRIVE SPORT, IT DOESN'T DO THIS. I HAVE GOTTEN IN THE HABIT OF SHIFTING INTO THE SPORT MODE WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP SIGN OR RED LIGHT. THIRD: MY DAUGHTER WAS HIT TODAY BY A TRUCK CROSSING LANES TO TURN IN FRONT OF HER. SHE WAS TRAVELING AT APPX 35 MPH. THE TRUCK HIT MY PASSENGER SIDE FRONT AREA, DESTROYING MY HEADLIGHT, BUMPER, AND GRILL. IT WAS HIT HARD AND THE AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE SEATBELT DID NOT LOCK, CAUSING HER TO BOUNCE FORWARD AND SMACK HER HEAD ON THE STEERING WHEEL. I AM CONCERNED NOW ABOUT THE SEATBELTS AND AIRBAGS AND AM MORE WORRIED THAT THEY ARE DEFECTIVE AFTER READING OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THESE SAME ISSUES. I LOVE MY CAR, BUT IT DOESN'T SEEM TO BE VERY SAFE AT ALL.

I BOUGHT THIS CAR AS AN USED VEHICLE. THE CARFAX REPORT SHOWED A MINOR INCIDENT ON THE FRONT, BUT AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THERE IS AN AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ON THE DASHBOARD WHICH CONTINUES TO GLOW WHEN I RUN THE VEHICLE. I ASKED MY SERVICE ADVISOR IN "NISSAN OF OMAHA" TO LOOK INTO THE ISSUE. HE REPLIED THE AIRBAG MODULE HAS TO BE REPLACED COMPLETELY AND IT WOULD COST ME $2300. I DOUBT IF THIS IS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE MANUFACTURING DEFECT AND THE SERVICE DEALER IS TRYING TO CHARGE ME FOR THE DEFECTIVE PART.

I WAS TOLD THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN IN A CRASH, YET DISCOVERED THE AIRBAG LIGHT WAS ON UPON FURTHER INSPECTION (AFTER PURCHASE). I KNOW SIMILAR MODEL YEARS HAD AIRBAG RECALLS. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT IF I WERE TO CRASH THE SRS SYSTEM AND THE AIRBAGS WOULD NOT DEPLOY. HOW CAN A DEALER SELL YOU A VEHICLE THAT ISN'T SAFE TO OPERATE? I JUST WANT TO ENSURE THERE ISN'T A KNOWN PROBLEM BEFORE I SPEND HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS JUST TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF OPERATING MY VEHICLE; EVEN THOUGH IT SHOULD HAVE CAME THAT WAY. ALSO, INTERMITTENTLY THE SEATBELT LIGHT WILL COME ON EVEN WHEN I AM BUCKLED UP.

MY VEHICLE HASN'T BEEN IN ANY ACCIDENTS AND THE AIRBAG LIGHTS WILL COME ON AND GO SOLID AND STAY ON THEN SOMETIMES GO OFF AND THEN COME BACK ON??? I'VE BEEN READING THAT THE OCS SYSTEM COULD BE FAULTY!! THE PASSENGER ONE WILL SOMETIMES STAY ON WHEN PEOPLE ARE SITTING IN THE SEATS OR IT WILL GO OFF WHEN NO ONE IS THERE??

NOT SURE IF IT INCLUDES TAKATA RECALL. MY 2016 NISSAN ALTIMA WAS IN A ACCIDENT ON JUNE 19TH 2019 THE CAR WENT TO A FENCE A PALM TREE AND A STRUCTURE OF THE HOUSE INSIDE OF THE HOUSE AND NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED. AND THE FIRST TIME BUYER I AM MARRIED WITH A CHILD AND THANK GOD MY CHILD WAS NOT IN THE CAR BECAUSE NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED CAR SEAT IS DEEMED UNUSABLE AND THE STROLLER AS WELL THAT WAS IN THE TRUNK DUE TO THE ACCIDENT THE CAR WAS TOTALED. THE INSURANCE THE TOW COMPANIES THE POLICE DEEMED IT A TOTAL LOSS AND WE'RE SHOCKED THAT WE WERE ALIVE AND WALKING DUE TO NO DEPLOYMENT OF AIRBAGS CAR SWERVED AND WENT INTO A HOUSE. THE PASSENGER AIRBAG INDICATOR LIGHT KEEPS POPPING UP ON MY DASHBOARD. I HAVE GOTTEN THE PROBLEM FIXED THREE(3) TIMES, ONCE WITH A NISSAN DEALERSHIP, AND IT STILL KEEPS COMING ON AFTER 2 MONTHS OF DRIVING.
BROUGHT MY CAR TO LIA NISSAN OF SARATOGA NY JUNE 29TH 2018. THE DID A RECALL REPLACEMENT OF MY PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG OCCUPANT SENSOR, SINCE THEN, AND BEFORE THE YEAR WAS OUT, THE PART HAS GONE BAD AGAIN. BROUGHT TO DEALER, THE SERVICE MANAGER STATES THAT BECAUSE I DIDN'T BRING IT IN BEFORE THE YEAR WARRANTIED DATE, THEY NEED TO CHARGE ME A $119 DIAGNOSTIC FEE. THE PART TO REPLACE THE OCCUPANT SENSOR COSTS $45 RETAIL. I DO NOT FEEL I SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE TO PAY A FEE FOR A PART THAT IS KNOWN TO HAVE MULTIPLE FAILURES.

AIR BAG LIGHT SUDDENLY STARTED TO FLASH. DEALER INDICATES THE SENSOR INSIDE THE SEAT IS DEFECTIVE. $1500.00+ TO REPLACE. UNTIL IT IS FIXED THE AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY IN AN ACCIDENT FOR ANY PASSENGER REGARDLESS OF WEIGHT. I CHECKED ONLINE AND SEVERAL OTHERS HAVE REPORTED THIS ISSUE.
MY REAR DOOR WILL NOT LOCK AND WHEN YOU LOWER THE IT OPENS THE DOOR I HAVE 47,000 MI ON MY CAR AND ALL MY ROTOR HAVE TO BE REPLACED. I AM CONCERNED THAT THE CURRENT AIR BAG RECALL DID NOT INCLUDE MY CAR.
I WAS INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT WHERE I WAS DRIVING MY 2016 NISSAN ALTIMA WHEN I REAR ENDED THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME THAT WAS STATIONARY AT THE TRAFFIC LIGHT. I WAS TRAVELING APPROX 30MPH, BUT WHEN I TRIED TO SLOW DOWN BY GENTLY APPLYING MY BRAKES BUT MY NISSAN ALTIMA CAR DID NOT SLOW DOWN AT ALL. I THEN SLAMMED THE BRAKES DOWN FIRMLY, STILL NOTHING, THE ABS DID NOT ENGAGE AT ALL. I SWERVED TO MY RIGHT TO TRY AND AVOID HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME HEAD ON. I CAUGHT IT'S RIGHT HAND BACK FENDER, BOTH FRONT AIR BAGS DEPLOYED, THE IMPACT OF HITTING THE MERCEDES STOPPED MY CAR- BOTH AIRBAGS INFLATED. MY 90LB, 18 YEAROLD SON WAS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. I BROUGHT IT UP TO NISSAN ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS WAS ON AND OFF WHEN MY SON SAT IN THE FRONT SEAT. ON THE FIRST OCCASION NISSAN JUST RESET THE PASSENGER AIRBAG SENSOR. IT DID NOT SOLVE THE ISSUE, THE SECOND COMPLAINT, NISSAN SAID IT WOULD ONLY GO OFF IF MY SON WEIGHED OVER 110LBS. IN THIS ACCIDENT THE AIR BAG DID GO OFF, CONSIDERING THIS CAR WAS GOING TO BE THE CAR HE DROVE- HE HAS HIS PERMIT RIGHT NOW, SO IF THE DRIVER WEIGHS LESS THAN 110LBS IT WOULD NOT DEPLOY. IT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE. SECONDLY, I BELIEVE THE NISSAN ALTIMA BRAKES FAILED IN THE ACCIDENT. WHEN THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER PICKED UP THE CAR ON ITS FLATBED, HE SAID THAT IT APPEARED THERE WAS SOMETHING FUNKY WITH THE FOOT BRAKE, IT WAS ROCK HARD WHEN COMPRESSED. THE ABS COMPLETELY FAILED, I NEVER FELT IT ENGAGE AFTER PUSHING FIRMLY HARD ON THE BRAKES. THERE WERE NO SKID MARKS ON THE ROAD. I NOTED THE ROAD WHERE THE ACCIDENT OCCURRED HAD TWO TYPES OF FLUID ON IT, ONE OILY ONE LIKE COOLANT. THE CAR WAS RECENTLY SERVICED, BY NISSAN VAN NUYS, THEY REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION. THE CAR DROVE INCREDIBLY WELL FOR A WEEK, BUT THE LAST FEW DAYS I NOTED THE SLUGGISHNESS AGAIN RETURNED. MY TIRES AND BRAKES WHICH WERE ALL FINE. THEY DID REPLACE THE BRAKE FLUID.

PURCHASED 4/2017 BRAND NEW. JULY 1ST, NOTICE THE AIRBAG SENSOR LIGHT IS ON ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL, TAKE IT IN; THEY REPLACE A SENSOR, DIDN'T FIX, REPLACE ANOTHER SENSOR, LIGHT GOES OFF. IN AUGUST, THE VEHICLE AGAIN HAS THE LIGHT ON, TAKE IT BACK TO DEALER; THEY REPLACE THE FIRST SENSOR (THE ONE THAT WAN'T BAD) AND THE LIGHT GOES OFF. HOWEVER I AM TOLD THAT THE TECH THOUGHT IT MAY BE A WIRING HARNESS ISSUE; "LETS SEE IF THIS CORRECTS IT"; SINCE THE AIRBAG WON'T DEPLOY IF THE SENSOR IS BAD!! DECEMBER 19TH; DRIVING IN A SNOWSTORM, THE LIGHT COMES ON AGAIN. SINCE IT'S A SAFETY ISSUE TO DRIVE IT AS WITHOUT THE SENSOR; THE AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY. SO HERE WE ARE THIRD TIME TO GO OUT; AND IT SEEMS LIKE WIRING SHOUDL HAVE BEEN LOOKED AT FIRST.

A DEER WAS STRUCK BY MY 2016 NISSAN ALTIMA AT A RELATIVELY HIGH RATE OF SPEED (45 MPH) ON A CITY STREET STRAIGHTAWAY WITH FRONT END IMPACT THAT RESULTED IN APPROXIMATELY $11,000 WORTH OF DAMAGE. NISSAN CUSTOMER SERVICE AND DEALER STATED THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO AND THE AIRBAG IS NOT ISSUE. LITHIA NISSAN OF FRESNO, DEALER EXPLANATION WAS THE PASSENGER WAS NOT SITTING CORRECTLY. LOOKING TO SEE IF ANYONE ELSE IS HAVING THIS ISSUE. THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS IN NEW CONDITION.

THE FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG OFF LIGHT CONTINUES TO COME ON WITH PASSENGERS IN THE SEAT AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. NISSAN HAS ATTEMPTED TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE AT LEAST FOUR TIMES WITHOUT SUCCESS. THERE IS ALSO AN NOTICEABLE VIBRATION IN OR NEAR THE DRIVE TRAIN WHEN EVER ENGINE IS OPERATING AT OR NEAR 1750 RPM THAT ALSO HAS NOT BEEN ELIMINATED.
Mileage: 2,000
RECALL 16V244000 AIRBAG LIGHT STAYS ON WITH MY WIFE IN PASS SEAT ~ 50% OF TIME. BROUGHT TO DEALER THREE TIMES BUT NOT FIXED. NISSAN CS NO ASSISTANCE TO FIX. WORKS OK IN OTHER VEHICLES WHEN SHE IS IN PASS SEAT.
Mileage: 5,000
AIRBAG SENSOR IS ACCORDING TO THE NISSAN DEALER ONLY ACTIVATING THE AIRBAG IF THE PASSENGER IS OVER 120LBS. MY WIFE IS UNDER THIS WEIGHT AND THE AIRBAG OFF LIGHT IS ON EVERY TIME WE DRIVE SOMEWHERE. NISSAN HAS TRIED TO PLAY IT OFF SAYING IT'S ACTUALLY SAFER FOR AN ADULT UNDER 120LBS TO HAVE THE AIRBAG OFF. THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE AND I DO NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM IN MY VW OR MY MAZDA.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, HOWEVER THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF A RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 898.
