The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving at various speeds and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle failed to respond while the engine was running. The contact stated that the vehicle responded and returned to normal functionality after depressing the accelerator pedal several times. The contact stated that the failure was more evident while driving in cold weather. No warning light was illuminated. The contact had not taken the vehicle to a local dealer or independent mechanic. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 84,000.

While i was driving the transmission felt as if it was slipping and didn't want to switch gears. When i stopped at a red light it didn't want to kick into drive it took like 3 -4 minutes to kick in no warning lights came on it just started messing up when I took it to get it looked at the code p17f0 came up. Im still paying a 429 car note on this vehicle and can not drive it plus the Carmax Care coverage i had on the car, is unusable!! So now im stuck with a broken car that im still paying on.
The transmission started slipping at 70,000 miles on the Altima, even after getting a preventative transmission service at 30,000 miles. A mechanic revealed a judder code, which means the transmission will stop working within weeks. A repair would cost more than the car is worth. My wife could have been stranded in traffic. This is unacceptable. No warning lights appeared on the dash.
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while attempting to drive from a complete stop, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to respond. The contact stated that upon depressing the accelerator pedal a second time, the vehicle responded as intended; however, the failure recurred at the next stop. The contact stated that the gas cap warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that upon inspecting the gas cap, no issue was found. The vehicle was taken to Auto Zone, where the failure was linked to the transmission. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
-Nissan made their Altimas and other vehicles using a CVT transmission that was of poor design and quality. -Nissan has admitted to this in several class action lawsuits, [XXX] ) and has extended their powertrain warranty and time period as a result. -The extended powertrain warranty is to cover up until 84k miles, the mileage on the Nissan Altima in question is just over 82k, well under the mileage limit. -Nissan corporate has denied repairs for this particular Nissan Altima under both their financial assistance and goodwill programs, despite having done so for many other Altima, Murano, Maxima, etc... owners. -Nissan is denying assistance based on two points: First, they claim that the time has expired. My claim is that transmissions fail due to poor engineering and quality, as well as wear and tear - NOT due to an arbitrary point of time when the clock hand strikes 12 midnight. In other words, transmissions due not wear out based upon an arbitrary time schedule. Secondly, Nissan is denying assistance and suggested that the warranty is void due to a lack of dealer maintenance, in violation of the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, which protects consumers' rights to choose where they have their car serviced without voiding the warranty. My 96 year old mom purchased 2016 Alltima 8 years ago. It now has 59,000 0riginal miles on it and the CVT transmission is failing we were told at the nissan service center where the car was purchased. Nissan has refused to help pay for any repairs. So 96 year old woman living on fixed income has to pay. Go back to Japan NISSAN
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the vehicle failed to properly accelerate, and the vehicle was jerking and lurching while driving. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the transmission was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 100,000.

Sometimes when you push the gas to take off after coming to a stop my 2016 Altima will not accelerate for several seconds. The RPMs will go high but the car won't move for several seconds and then it moves very slow for several more seconds. If it doesn't straighten up on its own I've discovered I can turn the car off for a few seconds and restart it. When I do this the transmission will work again. I've almost been struck by another car more than once when I attempted to pull out of a business and my car "stalls". I think Nesaun should fix this problem before someone is killed or seriously hurt. This has been an ongoing problem since I got the car in 2019 with 35000 miles on it.
As I was driving on the highway , I experienced loss of power, acceleration issues, slipping between gears, whining noise, hesitating, and jerking I had no warning signs no lights come on on my vehicle to notify me of any type of problems. This all happened when I was driving on the highway. My car went from driving perfectly normal to no longer working. I took my car to a mechanic they run a diagnostic. They also test drove in and inspected the car and said my transmission is failing and it needs to be replaced and that this has been a common issue in Nissan Altima between 80,000 and 100,000 miles
I am the new owner of a 2016 Nissan Altima with approximately 179,000 miles, and I am experiencing a complete transmission failure despite Nissan’s claims that their CVT transmissions are reliable. After researching, I discovered that Nissan has faced multiple class-action lawsuits regarding faulty CVT transmissions, which led to warranty extensions in the past. However, I was told by Nissan Customer Affairs that those extensions have ended, and they refused to offer any assistance, even though this is a well-documented, known defect. As a new owner, I do not have access to the vehicle’s full service history, but there are no reported service issues or previous transmission failures according to the BAR website. Regardless, this failure is consistent with thousands of other complaints from Nissan Altima owners, and it is unacceptable that Nissan refuses to take responsibility. Additionally, there are two active recalls on my vehicle (hood latch and door handle issues), but I cannot even bring the car in for recall repairs due to the transmission failure. I am requesting that Nissan takes this matter seriously. If Nissan continues to ignore its responsibility, I will escalate this complaint further.
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while driving up an incline at 65–70 MPH, the vehicle hesitated and briefly lost automotive power. The vehicle returned to normal functionality. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the stop lamp switch and wiring had failed. The vehicle was not repaired. Most recently, the contact stated that while driving up an incline at 60-70 MPH, the vehicle hesitated and briefly lost automotive power. No warning lights were illuminated. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.
Mileage: 140,000
I purchased this vehicle from Drivetime in Las Vegas off Decatur Blvd in December of 2021. I was not advised these particular make and models could have CVT Transmission failure. It has the SR Sports Model transmission, so I always thought when I had it in sport mode that the RMP's stayed high and the car would jerk if I let off the gas not knowing the transmission was actually faulty. In March of 2024 the vehicle stalled multiple time while at the gas station after filling up my gas tank. There was a Meineke in the same parking lot, I got the car going and quickly parked. They ran the codes since the check engine light had came on and told me P0776 was a faulty transmission. That these cars have known problem with transmission failure. They cleared the code and said if it comes back on it's going to go out quickly. I was told to baby the car, I barely drive anywhere but for work purposes and to the grocery store until last week the car had some major issues and check engine light came on. Ran codes and it was P0776 again. This last year I have experienced loss of power while driving and making a left turn. I did get hit once but the person left the scene, and I did not know what to do. So, I kept driving as the vehicle was not to the point of not being driven and I don't exactly have a large bank account to fix things like this as they come up. I have been ill paying for medical out of pocket and my deductible is $1500. Plus my father passed and I had to help pay for funeral and other expenses. I was told to reach out to NHTSA about this issue to see what could be done to help me out.
Hello, I own a 2016 Nissan Altima 2.5L SL with 100,000 miles on it. We've owned it since new and have taken very good care of it. Always kept in garage. All maintenance schedules have been followed, and the oil has been changed every 5,000 to 7,000 miles with full synthetic oil. About a year ago, at 90,000 miles, stepping on the accelerator pedal would do nothing, then, it would lurch forward at high RPM after 3 to 5 seconds. This occurs after coming to a complete stop. This only happens if the vehicle has been driven for at least an hour or so - especially on hot days. No check engine lights were coming on. After shutting off the vehicle and letting it cool down completely, the issue goes away until it is driven for an hour again, then the problem presents itself again. I've nearly been killed at some intersections as the vehicle will not accelerate for a few seconds. I have taken the vehicle into Tuffy Auto in Waukesha - they replaced the O2 Sensors, the Brake Light Switches (both), and the Mass Air Flow Sensor. This cost me about $1500 but the problem still remains. They've checked for codes, but nothing can be found. I like working with those guys, but they were unable to find the issue. I also took it into Nissan in Waukesha and they charged me $150 to diagnose the problem. they said nothing could be replicated after keeping the vehicle for a day. They instructed me to bring it back when it was reproducing. One day last summer, it would not accelerate at any stop. Taking 5 to 10 seconds before it would accelerate. I limped it over to Nissan Waukesha at 3pm in the afternoon and their service advisor immediately said there was nothing he could do for me. He was extremely rude and unhelpful. I explained that I had brought it to them while the issue was present, but he insisted there was nothing he could do for me. After doing some research, I've discovered hundreds, if not thousands of Altima owners with the same issue. Various forums and online postings of th
REPAIR SHOPS ESTIMATE STATES; AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE (3102M3VX0CRE) NEEDS TO BE REMOVED & REPLACED, (Combination) CRANKSHAFT MAIN OIL SEAL REMOVE & REPLACE, (Combination) TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER & LINES - Flush - FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT, CVT PROGRAMMING which is totaling $5,714.48. This cost will cost me a hardship as I am a person with disabilities. I don't feel it is fair that the extended warranty has a time limit as this was not a good solution for those that don't drive much. I am being told it expired in 2023. Had I driven more this recalled CVT would have damaged sooner and been covered. I am extremely afraid to drive this car like this.
2016 Nissan Altima has approximately 89,300 miles and the continuously variable transmission (CVT) had to be replaced. Nissan is well aware of the CVT issues. A few years ago, due to class-action lawsuits regarding the CVT, Nissan offered extended warranty for all impacted vehicles for 7 years and 84,000 miles, whichever comes first. Our vehicle was less than 6,000 miles outside of that warranty. And went out about 1 year after that warranty. Due to a separate warranty we purchased at the time the Certified Pre-owned Altima was bought (with about 9,200 miles on it), we were covered for 7 years or 100,000 miles additional warranty, whichever came first. For the warranty we paid for, we were over by 1 year and 3 months but under in mileage; Nissan agreed to pay half of the CVT replacement cost. We have copies of the warranties and receipts. Car began to skip/stall in late 2024. Check engine light came on. Code was run at Nissan Dealership in January 2025 that said CVT was bad. We had the CVT replaced at a Nissan Dealership and had to pay for 1/2 the CVT replacement. Impacted Nissan CVTs should be mandatory recalled and Nissan should be required to pay full cost of CVT replacements for those Nissans due to the widespread and known issues.
Car enters lymph mode, transmission failure car fails to move. Incident occurs randomly while driving on the highway placing driver and passengers at risk of being hit from behind. Nissan transmissions are notorious for transmission failures. This is the second Nissan Altima I have owned with the same transmission problem Vehicle only has approximately 60,000 miles and already failing. No warning lights came on nor other indications of malfunction. Transmission has been serviced by Nissan oil and filter have been changed. Transmission is warranted for 100,000 miles or seven years. The vehicle is a 2016 and has just passed the warranty. Previous Altima transmission was warranted for 100,000 miles regardless of the number of years. This is the third time transmission has fallen into safe mode on the freeway
I opened Complaint Number 11539204 on 08/17/2023 concerning issues with the car stalling, delayed shifting and gear slippage. I had the transmission replaced with a new one on 08/18/2023 at Tri-State Nissan Winchester, VA, and now I'm experincing the same issue with this new transmission. I was told that the warrenty for the enw transmission was only 12 months/12K miles. I paid over $5K for this new transmission and in a little more than 14 months, the same issues are being experienced. I was told Nissan changed their warranty on 07/2024 for their new transmissions to 36 months/36K miles. I called 1-800-Nissan-1 and got a case created, but they are not able to help in covering the cost to replace this 2nd transmission. There needs to be a recall on these Nissan's CVT.
While driving on interstate 80 RPM started fluctuating as the MPH started decreasing. I had to pull to the side of the freeway and drive at 5mph because that’s all it would let me do. Car had to be towed from Colfax California to the AAMCO in Auburn, California. Had to rent a car that cost me $609. I found out today that the transmission needs to be replaced and the cost will be $6949.03.
The transmission failed in the middle of a traffic controlled intersection. I was almost hit a few times (flashers engaged). No motion was possible in either direction. Was later replaced at a cost of $6100 by a local transmission shop.
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle lost motive power and decelerated independently. On several occasions, the vehicle stalled and failed to immediately restart. The vehicle was taken to the local mechanic who diagnosed and determined that the transmission was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 113,000.

After driving the vehicle for about an hour, when coming to a stop, the vehicle will not accelerate. Stepping in the acceleration pedal does nothing. No RPM increase, nothing. After 10 seconds the vehicle suddenly takes off. After angry drivers honk. The RPMS rev up and will not decrease to normal. I am limited to 25 mph with very high RPMs. Same thing repeats after every stop. The problem goes away intermittently after restarting the car. I've almost died trying to make turns in front of oncoming traffic when it will not accelerate.
During normal operation of the vehicle the car suddenly would not accelerate or go faster than 12mph. The transmission failed without warning. I have filed a claim with the manufacturer.
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while his daughter was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle briefly accelerated independently, before returning to normal functionality. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the continuously variable transmission (CVT). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 75,000.

2016 Altima 66,700 miles At a light, when push the accelerator my car hesitates for about 4 seconds. Then it slowly gains power. This is an accident waiting to happen. 2016 Altima needs a recall. I see multiple complaints on the internet as well.
When I am stopped at a light or in stop and go traffic my car will not accelerate when I put my foot on the gas pedal. I can push it all the way to the floor and my car will not move. It takes about 10 seconds or so then my car will jolt quickly and finally go. I have also had issues with the RPM's shooting up while I am driving at a low rate of speed. This has happened maybe 3 times and I have to pull over and turn my vehicle off then turn it back on and then it seems to drive normally. This issue started several months ago and at first it was just occasionally. Now it is more frequent and happens anytime I am driving. If I turn my car off then turn it back on it seems to correct the issue briefly. I have found myself while stopped in traffic just turning my car off then back on because I am in fear of it happening. This is dangerous as I am at risk of getting hit when I am making a turn at an intersection if my car will not move. I have looked online and it seems other people with Altimas the same year have also experienced similar problems. I have not had the vehicle inspected. There are no warning lights that have come on in the vehicle indicating there is a problem.
I was driving on the interstate highway when I realize that when I was trying to accelerate, the car was not starting to move forward anymore was not able to drive at proper speed on freeway . prior to that, I realize my RPMs was going up and down Had to pull over on freeway shut my car off and let car cool down waited about 10 minutes with off and then restarted it and continue to go seem to be fine at that point but has happened a couple times to me already, driving at normal speed and then it seems like when it’s getting hotter that I would gradually wouldn’t be able to move at normal speed as I needed to be on the freeway. RPMs would eventually start jumping up a down again I end up bringing my car to a Garage have transmission flushed and change screen filter, and oil cool filter still same result. It seems to feel very unsafe when driving on freeway!!!!
It is a known issue that the Stepper Motor on Nissan CVT transmissions are faulty. It causes the vehicle to not accelerate from stopped, which creates a dangerous situation if you are expecting your vehicle to respond when you press the accelerator to make a turn in traffic. When the Stepper Motor is not functioning properly, the driver will depress the accelerator, and the vehicle will not respond for up to 3 seconds. Once the vehicle responds to the depressed accelerator, it jolts the vehicle forward rapidly. Research in Nissan forums and conversations with auto technicians confirm this is an issue, however Nissan has not issued a recall. My research indicates this faulty part effects Nissan Alitmas as far back as 2008, and other Nissan vehicles such as the Nissan Murano.
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The contact was almost involved in a crash due to acceleration failure. The contact noticed that the vehicle shuddered before the failure in acceleration. Additionally, the contact noticed that the RPMs were high during the failure. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to accelerate above 60 MPH. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a failed transmission. The dealer determined that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Three months ago, the contact heard an abnormal sound coming from the passenger's side front end of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and kept for six months; however, the failure could not be duplicated. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 76,454.

The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle began to jerk, after which the vehicle lost motive power. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the transmission. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 106,000.

I was driving today 3/2/24 and speed was about 40-50 and suddenly/randomly the vehicle would do a jerk once it got to about 50 and the rpm’s would jump up between 2-3 and quickly drop back down to normal. I was not pressing the gas hard or a lot just lightly and also the jerking would happen if I was going down in speed from like 60-50 it would randomly jerk again and rpm’s would increase and go back down. Would do this off and on. No check engine lights or any lights what so ever we’re out up on the dash either which made it odd that my car was acting up. My vehicle only has 59,300 miles and has been serviced strictly at dealer for oil and transmission and I have been told that Nissan and their CVT transmissions are no good and transmissions can suddenly “die” on you for no apparent reasoning. Online searches let me to forums that discuss this being a common issue although Nissan has never done any form of recalls. This poses a safety concern in that the car is jerking and rpm’s go crazy for a moment. My vehicle also after being stopped at a traffic light today did not want to accelerate and “go” when I pressed the gas. I creeped up to 20 mph while rpm’s increased and then all of a sudden the car jerked and I was back in motion. I have owned my car since brand new and never have I had any issues.
During driving on interstate highway transmission suddenly failed to shift during acceleration or deceleration. This caused an inability to properly move with flow of traffic to move to emergency lane nearly causing a major Mother Vehicle Accident involving multiple vehicles.
Car just randomly “ gave “ out . I couldn’t accelerate in the middle of intestate traffic !! The engine and the transmission blew at the same time. No warning , no check engine light ! Up to date on oil changes and other maintenance. Car only has 150k miles on it , no way this both happens at the same time. Complete limp mode. Danger to myself and most importantly my kids. How the engine and transmission just fails. Now I’m liable to pay 9,000, no warning no nothing. Complete failure . This isn’t the first time I’ve heard of this year make and model having transmission and engine issues. How terrible!
My 2016 Nissan Altima has roughly 80k miles, all the sudden my transmission began to fall a part, Nissan is fully aware of this issue, but they don't want to take responsibility. There are so many Nissan owners with the same issue
If I'm in city traffic with lots of traffic and a red light for a while or in a drive thru, my car takes longer to accelerate after coming to a complete stop. I'll push the gas pedal in to go and it takes a few seconds to get moving up to normal acceleration speed. The first few seconds of pushing the gas pedal my car barely moves, similar to idling forward without gas, even if I floor it, but once it gets going it drives normally. It works well driving long distance and only happens on stop and go trafffic and at a drive thru. I have a 2016 Nissan Altima SV 2.5.
Since June of 2022, my car has been in service repair a total of 10 times. Each time my check engine comes on, the diagnostic codes always involve the A/F sensor. This started at 35,000 miles and Nissan cannot figure out the issue. There are SEVERAL bulletins addressing the issue, with the most recent being 2022. The service dealership will no longer work on my car surrounding the issue. As a result of having a sensor issue that cannot be repaired, the car will periodically not respond with acceleration. I have had two VERY close calls of making a left hand turn in front of oncoming traffic with the gas pedal suddenly not responding no matter how hard it’s pressed. It’s almost as if it goes into neutral. The rpm’s increase and the engine revs, but it just won’t move. After several seconds of remaining motionless, the car then suddenly accelerates to the speed that it should. This issue is not an outlier. I contacted several people that listed their cars for sale, that stated their check engine light is on due to an 02 sensor. They all stated they have tried to get the car repaired with zero success. People then just sell the car and transfer the issue to another person. If it hasn’t already, this issue is going to kill someone. My car stalled in front of two cars coming towards me at 50 mph. Had they not stopped in time, I would have been T-boned on the drivers side. That wouldn’t have ended well. Nissan suggested I sell the car- that is their solution regarding a car that became unrepairable at 35,000 miles. Nissan did send an engineer to the dealership to inspect the car- multiple times. They do not know how to fix the issue.
Vehicle will delay acceleration when I have stopped at a stop sign or stop light especially if I was stopped on a hill. When I press the gas pedal it will delay acceleration for a couple of seconds and then finally take off. It was happening every so often but now it is happening more often. If I turn the car off and start it again, it goes away for a little while but comes back. The check engine light doesn't come on when this happens.
I was driving on the freeway with my 6yr & 11yr daughters when my car stop accelerating and started to slow down I’ll hit the gas pedal and the RPMS will go up but the car wouldn’t advance ! I had to get off the freeway before the car completely stopped in the middle of the freeway as the velocity of the vehicle was getting slower and slower ! Take in mind I try to do this as safe as possible but my car was in the far end of the emergency lane I almost got rear ended my kids were crying scare ! I turn off the car once to the side of the freeway check the hood and nothing out of the ordinary. Turn the car back on and it was driving normal ! On the next day that’s when the check engine light turn on ! Took it to the dealer and they told me I need a complete new transmission!
At 107,000 miles my 2016 Nissan Altima would experience an issue when coming to a stop after about 30 minutes worth of driving. After stopping at a light or stop sign, when I pushed on the gas pedal, nothing happened. I could press the pedal all the way to the floor, and the only change was that the tachometer would go up. I would have to restart the car in order for the gas pedal to work. After taking the car in to the Nissan dealership, I as told that I would need a new transmission and the cost would be $5100+ after taxes. I shopped around, but most all other transmission shops said that they would have to get the CVT transmission from Nissan. So the only thing different from these other transmission shops and the Nissan dealership was the labor cost. I was told by the Service Department at Nissan, that the older CVT transmissions wear out a lot sooner than the newer ones. With Nissan only giving a 12month/12,000mile warranty, your gambling if this newer transmission will at least run for as long as the original one. There has to be a recall on these Nissan CVT transmissions
From the Last 1 months, I can see sometimes when I accelerate my car it's not accelerating properly but the RPM is increasing, and sometimes after I stop in traffic when I accelerate my car it's not accelerating immediately and when I press the gas paddle hard suddenly it accelerates. It's a safety concern for me.
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that after stopping at a traffic light, the light turned green, and the contact depressed the accelerator pedal however, the vehicle jerked and stalled. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was restarted and driven to the residence. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with a faulty transmission. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 74,300.

Car intermittently fails to accelerate when gas pedal is engaged. Gas pedal has been fully engaged at times and car does not accelerate. Had issues in 2021 and now it is reoccurring. This issue has occurred while in interstate traffic, as well as, day to day driving around town.
Transmission slippage or failure to engage when trying to accelerate onto highway. Transmission would slip during acceleration causing other motorists to have to immediately slow or stop to avoid collision. Identified by Nissan service that transmission needs replacement. Check engine light came on approximately 200 miles before diagnosis by Nissan service. At approximately 84K miles. No forewarning by the vehicle or communication from Nissan prior to this incident. Advised that Nissan is aware of the issue and have extended some warranties regarding the issue but not communicating to customers. Apparently issue is not isolated to just the Altima but several other Nissan models. Failures of this transmission type have been reported as early as 25K miles.
CVT issues. with shudder in speed control and lack of transmission staying engaged seems like it is popping in and out of gear at any speed. lack of power and changes in speed creates safety issues with other drivers on the road.
Diagnosed CVT failure; Nissan refuses to replace the transmission at their cost. Took the vehicle to multiple mechanics before the issue was officially diagnosed, as the issue is difficult to diagnose. When operating the vehicle, at times the vehicle will stop accelerating; driver is pressing on the accelerator and the RPMs will increase but the vehicle will not be propelled forward and the power steering is disengaged. The issue is intermittent so the driver does not when this will occur, other drivers on the road also do not know our car is stalled, and this creates a huge safety risk. Also, when stopped at a stop sign or stoplight and attempting to turn onto another street, driver will attempt to accelerate and turn and the vehicle will not move or will barely move and the power steering is disengaged. If the cross-street has traffic, my vehicle is immovable in oncoming traffic -- a huge safety issue.
My wife's car started having problems with acceleration lately. At a stop the car would sometimes have problem accelerating and I would have to tap on the gas pedal a few times. If that doesn't work, I would have to keep on pressing the gas pedal without releasing it. The rpm will sometimes not go up then suddenly it revs to 4k even 5k. The car would go on limp mode or not even go forward when I'm revving the car. It happened both on highway and city streets. I was almost hit by a truck on the freeway. This is very dangerous. I did some research and found that many owners have the same problem. There is even a lawsuit I found on the internet pertaining to the same issue. No one wants to spend the time and money to fix a transmission problem especially if it's a problem from Nissan itself and not because of negligent owners not taking proper care of their cars. It costs about $3500 to $4000 to replace a transmission! Please investigate and put a recall for the transmission for the Nissan Altima. All owners who have spent money and time should be reimbursed!
I’m starting to experience issues with the CTV transmission. I’m experiencing jerking and stalling while driving on a busy highway with cars traveling 55mph or more. It is extremely dangerous driving when these things occur when cars are traveling at those speeds and the vehicle hesitate without warning.
Transmission problem.
No injuries or accident but this vehicle has two serious problems . 1. The head lights are almost non existent. you can not drive faster than 25 mph with out over driving you lighted area... I consider this a serious issue. .2. when car was new i almost always was getting in the low 30s and as high as 40 mpg now it is always getting in the low 20s consistently ... When i check this on you tube they say that is a warning that the CVT is not working properly . With only 48000 miles on the car , I ask if this is a problem that Nissan should correct ?
My car has several problems with accelerating either during highway speeds or from a dead stop. First , the car starts fine and engine runs fine, does not idle rough or stall out. The problems arise after driving for a few miles and I come to a complete stop, either at a stop light or sign. When the light turns green and I attempt to move the car, there is a severe lag in response to get the car moving. When it does start moving (after about 5-6 seconds), it barely rolls forward at less than 1 mile an hour. It does not matter how many times I depress the gas pedal, or if I have it to the floor, the car barely moves without any sound or rise in RPMs. The car may cover a distance from 15 feet to 150 feet at this snail pace until suddenly the RPMs shoot up to 4-5000 and the vehicle takes off like a rocket. The first time this happened I was making a lefthand turn and while sitting in the turn pocket I pressed the accelerator and the car started to creep along and put me right in the way of oncoming traffic which luckily slowed down for me to crawl across. The next time it happened was when I left a stoplight and the car started crawling then suddenly shot off and almost hit the car in front of me which had slowed down for a dip about 30 feet from the stop light. BOTH VERY DANGEROUS SITUATIONS. The car also tends to lose acceleration while driving at highway speeds with the RPMs dropping approximately 1000 RPMs as when crossing intersections leaving me to crawl through a long intersection while now with cross traffic on the green light. This happens during freeway speeds as well. Also, at freeway speeds the car will top out at 40 MPH with the RPMs winding away at 4-5,000 RPMs while traffic is flying by me at 65-75 MPH. All these scenarios are prime conditions for an accident or collision. Symptoms first appeared about two months ago, now daily. The Nissan Dealer refuses to do transmission repair saying the computer throws no codes. Will not take my word on the problems.
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH, the vehicle made an abnormal sound and the RPM’s revved up and the vehicle started shuddering. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact veered to the side of the road and turned off the vehicle. The contact stated upon restarting the vehicle, the accelerator pedal was depressed and went all the way to the floorboard; however, the vehicle failed to respond. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle two more times. The failure persisted but the contact was able to continue driving. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the mass airflow sensor and intake manifold were replaced; however, the failure persisted. The contact referenced Nissan Technical Service Bulletin Number: NTB16-121a. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 120,000.

Car was stopped at a stop sign. When it was clear I attempted to proceed and turn left. The car began to roll then wouldn't accelerate causing me to block both lanes with oncoming vehicles. The rpms revved and the car wouldn’t move. Finally, the car started to go forward and without me pressing the gas it accelerated. I reported the situation to the Nissan Dealer and the Nissan Consumer repair. The mechanic at Nissan said the code is the transmission "death code." The simply said the car has over 84,000 miles so they would not be responsible for the repair. When I told them the situation, they did not discuss safety issues. I asked the man at Nissan Consumer Affairs if the life expectancy of a 2016 Nissan transmission was 108,000 miles. He said Nissan was not responsible for vehicle safety after 84,000 miles. He gave me a case number and and hung up. I then received an email with the case number and a note that said to give the number to my attorney. I do not have an attorney.
I only had my vehicle(2016NissanAltima) for less than 2 weeks before the vehicles major problems started. The engine consistently Stalls, Surges and Shudders. As well as the Shifter locking itself to where it wont shift out of park. There are no and have never been any warning lights to alert me. The CVT and the Computer are very faulty. To the point the vehicle is now a Death Trap. When driving the car the RPM will randomly accelerate and I have no way to control the vehicle and then vehicle will go into "Limp Mode" consistently and won't go any faster or slower than the speed the car chooses to do. I don't trust anything of what it says on the dashboard as far as Gas amount, Odometer, MILWarnings, Speed or otherwise. If there are no warnings from the car to alert me with, then that is a major issue with the car and is not mechanically sound and very dangerous for me and other drivers on the road. I have had to make the car sit the majority of the short time I have had it. Because I simply won't drive very far because of the dangers it puts me in everytime I have drove it. I have had to spend my money on transportation to and from work instead of making my first car payment. At this point I want to just Opt-out with the vehicle entirely and give it back to the dealership. This car is just unsafe and should not have been sold in the condition it is in. I only got to drive the vehicle 10 days or so before major issues started with the vehicle. I have not a clue what the details of what is wrong with the car. The only warning signal I do see now, is the MIL and that is not even mentioned in the option menu of the car settings etc. This car needs to be re-manufactured so that it can become a safe running vehicle. I don't have the money that it will take to fix the car. It's far too expensive for me or any hard working citizen to ever afford. I don't advise anyone to own a vehicle of this kind.
The car has been experiencing transmission problems since about 95,000 miles. I contacted Nissan of North America about the issue and they told me they knew of the issue, extended warranty to 88,000 miles. I bought car used with 87,000 and no issue until 95,000. Issue is, the car stalls in stop and go traffic, it revs and jumps when starting, makes a humming noise while gas pedal is engaged. Took it in for recalls and Nissan of Lagrange even said the CVT transmissions are junk. Nissan needs to recall every car that has this transmission and fix the issue.
Transmission failing. Will not take off from stand still, then jerks and goes after revving. Jerks badly and shudders when accelerating, then refuses to accelerate to highway speeds over 55mph.
CVT failed while driving on a busy inclined highway (towards Denver Airport) without any prior warning or check engine alert. The car came to a complete stop before I can judge the problem and pull over. Got it towed to the nearest Nissan service center (Tynan's Nissan, Denver) where they identified code P0776 and P17F0 after inspection. The check engine light turned amber only after the car came to a complete stop.
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while at a stop light, the vehicle failed to accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. Additionally, on other occasions while attempting to accelerate, the vehicle failed to respond as needed with the accelerator pedal depressed. The contact stated the failure was intermittent. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to duplicate the failure or retrieve a fault code. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 72,000.

My 2016 Altima began loosing power in spurts, wouldn't move after stopping until accelerator was pushed to the floor then it would lunge forward. Took the car to a dealership and found out the transmission needed replaced at 91,000 miles! Nissan did agree to pay half the cost but, here I am 4weeks later and I still don't have my vehicle...No loaner car was provided either, they wanted me to pay $44 a day with 100 free miles. By the time I drove from the dealership to my home I would use 65-70 of those miles alone. Very disappointed in both Nissan and Ricart Automotive!
On 8/11/22,I was driving my car and came to a stoplight. I went to accelerate and the car seemed slow to respond when I applied the accelerator. This happened several times during this one particular trip. When I made a lefthand turn and the car barely moved along. I got to my destination and let the car sit for about 20 minutes. I then proceded to drive home and the car worked fine. On 8/12/22, I took it a Nissan Dealership and was told the transmission may be failing. No warning lamps came on. I was told that I may have a hard time pleading my case because no warning lamps came on. This happened several times last year. I took it to the same Nissan Dealership and they reprogrammmed the computer. I plan on taking it to a Nissan Dealership and having it checked out again as I have 3000 miles left on the extended waranty.
CVT transmission failed. We are safe but the situation cause a lot of stress. The problem had been confirmed by Ancot transmission in South Carolina and the transmission had to be replace. After the Nissan dealership had to programmed the new one. The problem happened before the check engine light appear, when the light went on , we took the car at Ancot transmission. We are Canadian citizen, the problem happened during are vacations. [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
I have been having transmission issues, started in 2019 i have taken it to multiple dealership they can never find the issues, after my vehicle warranty expired they miraculously found the issue with my cvt transmission, when calling nissan customer care they would only cover 2500.. after i havr been taking it over 2 years to 4 different dealerships
Evidently there have been numerous issues with 2016 Nissan Altima transmissions that Nissan has neglected to issue a recall for. Mine started several months ago, sometimes I'll be driving, stop at a light and the car will just not move. Additionally it will sometimes just start revving over 6K rpm while driving on the highway. I have to use my car for personal use every day, I drive my 7 year old to school/summer camp and myself to work daily and this is a serious danger for us. I have had the vehicle inspected and it has been confirmed that this is a transmission issue and that they have numerous people bringing their Altimas in for the same reason. My engine light never came on until these issues started to occur.
When you are driving down the road and come to a stop the car will stall and not go like it is not shifting! The check engine light comes on sometimes sometimes it don’t. It may get up to 40 mph when this happens sometimes it might not go at all!
Vehicle unexpectedly stalls WITHOUT illuminating brake lights! MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE with AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FAULTY CVT. (Potential causes to unexpected Collisions) It unexpectedly Shakes, hesitates while shifting, struggles to change gear, wont change gear, stalls, and makes noise such as whining and/or grinding. These problems happen WHILE DRIVING HIGHWAY SPEEDS. It also happens coming from a stop. Completely dangerous happen once to me crossing an intersection car dodged me preventing a MAJOR accident/collision. This is a KNOWN ISSUE FOR THIS MODEL AND MANY OTHER NISSANS. NEED TO BE A RECALL ON TRANSMISSION ASAP. MANUFACTURE SHOULD BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR THIS SAFETY ISSUE NOT CONSUMER!! NOT a the weak manufacturer extended warranty from class action lawsuit. Nissan requires this $5k repair on these defective transmissions over 84k miles to be at owner expense. That repair cost extends well above what the average owner can immediately cover. Putting that owner/family and millions of others on highway/roads at risk of major accidents/collisions due to the unexpected failure of the transmission stalling, hesitating, shuddering, & distracting noises without brakes illuminating making cars around aware of an immediate unexpected speed decrease.
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while making a left turn at a stop light, the vehicle began to hesitate without warning. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal to the floorboard as the hesitation continued before resuming normal operation. The contact also stated that the failure had continued while driving at various speeds without warning. The dealer was notified and offered no additional assistance with the failure. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.

Vehicle jerks as RPM needle rapidly bounces between 10rpm and 40rpm when accelerating, sometimes subtle jerk when decelerating.
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer where the transmission was replaced. However, the failure reoccurred two years later. The contact stated while driving 15 MPH, the RPM revved up however, the vehicle lost motive power and started jerking while depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact stated that upon depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle remained stuck in first gear. The contact was able to drive to her residence at a slower speed while still experiencing the failure. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was then towed to the dealer who informed the contact that the vehicle could not be repaired under warranty due to the mileage. The contact referenced Nissan Technical Service Number: 15-084A. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

VEHICLE: 2016 Nissan Altima SL. I have a Nissan Altima, which is known to have CVT transmission issues. My issues started all of a sudden when my car immediately lost acceleration in the middle of moving traffic, resulting in my car almost being rear-ended on the highway. I had to quickly put the car in park, turn the car off and on and exit onto shoulder lane with a lot of shuddering and stalling coming from engine.I turned the car off again and waited for engine to cool down before attempting to drive again. I had to park my car somewhere overnight as the car was not making it home. The next day I took it to Nissan dealership (with much difficulty), almost resulting in another accident due to random and sporadic loss of acceleration. Nissan confirmed that it was transmission related (I have paperwork). Nissan has known CVT failures for 2013-2016 models and this should be covered under extended powertrain warranty. I am writing this because I have kept up with maintenance for my car and this issue had randomly appeared, often no tell signs until it happens, which Nissan then says is too late. The safety of myself and others is affected because this issue literally results in a loss of control over the car and in cities during traffic hours could be deadly. My vehicle is available for inspection upon request.
I have intermittent acceleration issues and high RPM revving on my car, which causes safety issues especially when making left turns across traffic. This seems to be a common problem. I have not taken to a Nissan dealer yet, but have talked to one and they say I need a new transmission probably for $6,000. I also took it to my local mechanic a few months ago but he could not diagnose anything because it was intermittent. But anyway its frustrating to have a car with known issues and well documented. I don't mind spending the $6,000 if it actually fixes the problem but based upon my research it could be many different things.
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that the gear shifter failed to shift into the intended gear and often failed to shift into any gear, which is an overt and considerable safety issue. The contact had to insert a pen into the gear shifter to correct the failure; however, this work-around was often not successful and the car was not able to be driven safely. The vehicle was repaired to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the gear shifter needed to be repaired by the independent mechanic at a cost totaling $1,158.75. The contact incurred the entire cost out-of-pocket, with zero reimbursement from insurance or the manufacturer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown. The VIN was unavailable. The contact has stated that the work-around for the gear shifter often did not work resulting in the vehicle being undriveable. The vehicle was repaired by the independent mechanic at their own expense. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure with the vehicle but failed to respond. The failure mileage is 83,470 and the VIN has been provided.

The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle hesitated during acceleration while the accelerator pedal was depressed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.

My 2016 Altima is experiencing hesitation when accelerating, jerking and shuddering while driving. The RPMs go up but the car doesn't respond. Yes, the vehicle is available for inspection. The car doesn't respond as it should when entering traffic (feels like the transmission is slipping) which means I have to slow down while merging into traffic on the freeway rather than accelerate. It puts myself and passengers at risk as well as other drivers. The vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer or dealer for this issue. This vehicle only has 33,000 miles on the car but the symptom's were apparent obvious around 25,000 miles.
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to several dealers and independent mechanics; however, no codes were retrieved while performing the diagnostic tests. The contact then took the vehicle to another independent mechanic where she was informed that there was a power train recall for similar vehicles. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where she was informed that the vehicle was under warranty however, the vehicle no longer qualified for the warranty. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled. The check engine and traction control warning light were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed that the battery terminal connector was too small for the battery. A connector was added. The contact called another dealer, King Windward Nissan (45-568 Kamehameha Hwy, Kaneohe, HI 96544) and was informed that the vehicle was not covered under warranty. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the contact was informed that the failure was due to the transmission. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was approximately 104,000.

The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Altima. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle failed to accelerate and instead decelerated. On another occasion while driving approximately 20-30 MPH, the vehicle was jerking with an abnormal ticking sound. The check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and diagnosed with transmission failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 84,000.

My car only have 85000 mile on it and it jerks sometimes and was told it was a Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor/Switch A Circuit Range/Performance and after doing research a lot of people transmission are doing the same thing. Nissan should be made to fix the problem
While trying to pull out of a intersection, car will not move or will move very slowly. I have almost been t-boned twice with my family in the car. This happens intermittently, 4 times in the past year. After car is turned off and restarted the issue seems to go away until the next time. The needs to be a safety recall before someone gets seriously hurt.
I just purchased this vehicle with 93,000 miles and good condition. A warning or indicator light never comes on but sporadically I will be driving around 40-50mph & if I let off of the gas something happens where no matter how hard or fast I press the accelerator the car looses power. I can press the accelerator all the way to the floor & still not speed up. The car will slowly decrease speed until about 30mph or either I have to take my foot off of the accelerator totally & press hard about 1/4 on the accelerator to regain power. It feels like the pressure behind the accelerator disappears when all of this happens. There is no dimming of lights or anything obvious. It happens when my Mom drives also. I have lost power trying to pass a car or turn with oncoming traffic ahead. It scares me.
Acceleration from stand still occasionally does not occur. This causes us to press harder on the acceleration pedal and suddenly the car accelerates with high RPM. There is no check engine light. This is particularly at risky when left side turns at traffic signals are made. The problem has not been reproduced but has happened occasionally and usually turning off the engine completely and restarting the car results in the resolution of the issue temporarily. Car has not been inspected by anyone so far.
I was on the highway taking my newborn and my 2 year old home when the car was not going very fast when I went up a hill. I wasn’t sure what the issue was so I proceeded to drive my car the next day. I was driving at towards and intersection and my car did not stop at a red light, at a 4 way intersection. At this point my car did not signal a check engine light so I had no idea what the issue was. I put my car in park at the nearest parking lot and my check engine light came on. My check engine light is on at only 99,000 miles. I had my transmission fluid flushed and changed, the vehicle was running completely fine with no issues, 2 days later it was running as if the transmission had no fluid in it. The Nissan dealership said that the vehicle had internal damage to the transmission.
Delayed acceleration issue. I am stopped at a light or in traffic and I press on the gas to go and it does nothing at all. This is occurring at various intervals...it just happens. I have been stopped to cross intersection and when light turns green, the car does not go at all for several seconds, 6-10 seconds. No warning lights are on. I have read this is a known problem for Nissan and there is no recall or action taken on their part. How many people have to be hurt or potentially killed before action is taken. I have taken it to the dealer and they cannot reproduce problem because it does not happen all the time and their is not error or warning code.
The transmission has fail it accelerates on its own, jerking, hesitated
Starting at around 80k miles I noticed a bit of jerking and stalling while driving with no warning indicator and got it checked out 2 times and was told it was a battery issue and bought a new battery. After the battery replacement I noticed it was still continuing but I was not getting the transmission issue on the reader until one day I was completely stalled in traffic with my newborn baby and tried to floor the accelerator but was slowly moving that it triggered the check engine light and finally the transmission error came up on the reader. Nissan is fully aware of the ongoing issues with the CVT transmission and will not extend the warranty to cover their defective CVTs. The transmission has been replaced by my own extended warranty at the Nissan dealership but I am still experiencing the same jerking and slight stall when I accelerate.
I have had this 2016 Nissan Altima SR for the past 5 years (1st owner) and it just began giving me acceleration issues about 2 months ago. At random times, while at a stop, reversing, doing a u-turn or changing gears, I step on the accelerator and it will not move. I have pushed all the way down on the accelerator and it won't budge for about 10 seconds, until then, it will just throw itself at a really high speed. There is no warning or light on the dashboard stating something is wrong. It does it at random times. There have been numerous times were I have been put at risk of a car accident because of this issue. Once, I was at a green light waiting to make a left, and when I had a chance to turn before the oncoming cars, I went for it, only to have the accelerator not work and go REALLY slowly (as if it was on neutral). At that speed, I was midway and the oncoming car was honking at me as it was getting closer. I kept stepping on the accelerator and nothing would happen. Luckily, a few seconds later it threw itself to a really high speed and I was able to make it before the oncoming car hit me. I have taken it to the dealer, only to find out I would be charged $169 for a diagnostics test and even then they wouldn't guarantee anything because it doesn't have any kind of warning light on the dashboard. The dealer then stated it could possibly be the transmission or throttle body. How is it possible for me to waste so much money on something the dealer itself is so unsure of the results? How can they guarantee they can fix the issue without happening again and possibly getting into an accident? I have heard of other Altima owners who have been told it is the transmission and they change it, only to have the same problems all over again. This issue really needs to be looked at before it gets more serious and cause devastating accidents. Thankfully it has not done that to me on the fwy yet.
For the past two years I have been experiencing dim headlights. I have had them change twice and still cannot see 5 feet ahead of me. I was unaware that this could be a common problem with this model. Also, the passenger air light stays on even when no one is sitting in the seat. this problem started about six months ago. Now I think the transmission maybe starting to slip.
Transmission seems to get stuck and not want to move at times. Airbag light on dash and some times shows pass air bag light off when there is a passenger in the seat.
I have jerking in what I believe to be the transmission when accelerating.
Upon arriving to my grandson's daycare, I applied by brake and put my car in park and suddenly my car accelerated at a fast speed. My car moved forward across an area that the children are usually playing in, but because it was raining they were inside. Thank God! I can't even imagine what would have happened. My car finally stopped because I was trying to avoid the daycare's shed, but hit the corner of the shed and this stopped the car. The air bag did not deploy as well. I am thankful to be alive and unharmed, but most thankful that no one else was harmed. My husband took photos of the brake marks on the pavement and grass and of the vehicle after collision with the shed and showing it was in park.
The contact owns a 2016 Nissan Altima. The contact stated while driving various speeds, the vehicle experienced unintended acceleration and deceleration. The contact had to place the key fob next to the push to start button to start the vehicle. Additionally, the contact had to use a screwdriver to shift the gear shifter from park to drive, or into reverse. The vehicle also stalled after stopping at a stop sign and then lunged forward to accelerate. The dealer was made aware of the failure and scheduled an upcoming appointment for a diagnostic test. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was over the mileage warranty coverage. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.
Mileage: 130,000
This vehicle's 1st transmission was changed at a Nissan dealership around 44,000 miles. At 120,000 it started having issues again which effect safety: vehicle would not respond to acceleration, causing the vehicle to be stuck in dangerous situation such as merging or even in the middle of intersections. Nissan is refusing to take responsibility.
CVT Transmission overheats then fails until it cools down.
Transmission is not right
Car loses power while driving on highways or roads and had nearly cost me my life on occasion where the vehicle cannot complete a turn from loss of power and I cannot proceed and obstruct oncoming vehicle paths. It has also revved up out of the blue to 6000-7000 RPMs despite a holding steady pace on the gas pedal. The speed jolts and has nearly caused me to rear end unsuspecting vehicles. Sometimes the vehicle cannot accelerate and has NO POWER after coming to a full stop at a red light or stop sign. I have been unable to receive help for any of these issues despite many diagnoses and lots of money spent. And it was not made aware to me, an owner of a Nissan Altima vehicle that there is a known probability of failure with CVTs in use in Altima’s of my hear. That lack of effort and total disregard for the lives of customers in similar Nissan vehicles is absolutely disgraceful and unacceptable! Furthermore, they try to deny it and try to take zero fault. Nissan is denying fault for faulty CVT in my vehicle and made NO ATTEMPT to notify owners of affected NISSAN vehicles and is NOT rectifying the issue or admitting their lack of effort on making owners of affected Nissan vehicles aware of issues and threatening consumer wellbeing
After driving for a period of time (not too far, but more than just around the block) when I come to a stop at a stoplight or stop sign and try to accelerate again, there is a long delay of around 3-5 seconds and then my car will “launch”. I can push the pedal all the way to the floor and nothing happens. Then it will suddenly take off. This is a hazard while trying to turn out into traffic, if I would have to accelerate out of the way of a vehicle approaching me from any angle while at a stoplight or stop sign. Trying to cross intersections that only have 2 way stops, and for many other reasons that are pretty self explanatory. This sits very uneasy with me especially when my wife and child are riding with me. I brought this up to the dealer and they found no codes and could not recreate it, but did reprogram my ecm to most current programming per NTB13-054D. That cost $140 and did not fix my issue. It seems like to recreate the issue the car has to be driven for a little while (at lease 20-30 mins on the highway) before it begins acting up. It also seems like hot weather contributes to the issue as well.I drive an hour each way to work, so it pretty much acts up for me 2x a day since it has gotten warm out.
Stopped propelling the car. Might be a transmission problem.
The CVT transmission in my 2016 Nissan Altima causes my vehicle to experience sudden shaking or jerking and to occasionally stall after a traffic stop while driving. I have been in near accidents based on this CVT issue as there is no way to anticipate when my vehicle will experience the aforementioned problems. I have taken my vehicle to an independent service center where technicians confirmed that the issue lies with my transmission. My vehicle was also inspected by my municipal vehicle inspection service which also flagged the problem. I have tried to contact Nissan USA to assist in the resolution of this issue but it has not been helpful in resolving the issue as I am outside the arbitrarily-set extended warranty period due to the vehicle's mileage. The Nissan Altima CVT transmission is a public safety emergency that needs to be fixed and I hope Nissan USA adequately and equitably addresses this problem. As a consumer who has previously only owned and operated Nissan Altimas, I am saddened by the company's inability to fully help consumers who are endangered by its faulty transmission and who may be a danger to others on the road due to this known issue.
2016 Nissan Altima, driving down highway and car would not accelerate, then jerked forward quite intensely. I felt like I did not have control of the car and feared I was going to hit someone or be hit by someone. I was finally able to get the car pulled over to the shoulder and turned it off. I thought it was a bad tank of gas. Let it sit for a bit, restarted, and made it home. We ran it this way for a couple of days so we could run the 'bad' gas out. Filled back up and added additive. Nope, same issue as soon as the car gets warmed up after about 8-10 miles. Took it to my local mechanic to make sure it was not the Mass Air Flow Sensor that I had to pay him to replace a few months back which cost me $600. That came back fine, but he informed me it was the transmission, and is a known issue with Nissans. I began researching, and boy is it ever a known issue all the way back to 2013. What baffles me is they are still using this same transmission, and one day, this will cause someone to get killed because they are allowed to continue doing this. I took it to Nissan Dealership, and opened a case with Nissan HQ Consumer Affairs. They confirmed CVT Transmission. I am at 88,500 miles, warranty out at 84,000. They offered to pay 80% for repair. Not acceptable when this should be a recall. Please have this recalled for goodness sake before someone is hurt. I did not have any warning light at all come on.
I was driving down the highway and my 2016 Nissan Altima began jerking and trying to stall, then jerking me forward again quite hard. I had to pull over in fear of hitting someone or my car becoming out of control. I have since discovered that it is the CVT transmission.
ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. MY CAR FAIL TO ACCELERATE AND IT HESITATED. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THE CODE SHOWING WAS THE POWER TRAIN CONTROL MODULE
Mileage: 41,000
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING OUR 16 ALTIMA THAT JUST CROSSED 50K MILES ON 3/20/21 WHEN SHE COULD NOT ACCELERATE AFTER STOPPING AT A RED LIGHT. SHE NOTICED THE RPMS WERE MOVING HIGHER BUT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE. SHE TURNED OFF THE CAR WHILE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AND WAS ABLE TO RESTART IT. AFTER RESTARTING SHE COULD NOT EXCEED 40MPH. WHILE DRIVING THE RMP BOUNCED BETWEEN 1000 AND 3000 AND THE CAR "JERKED" WHILE SHE CONTINUED TO DRIVE HOME. BY THE TIME SHE MADE IT HOME THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON. I USED A CODE SCANNER TO SEE WHAT WAS GOING ON AND THE CAR RETURNED THE FOLLOWING CODES (P0776PRESSURE CONTROL SOLENOID B PERFORMANCE OR STUCK OFF; P0841 TRANSMISSION FLUID PRESSURE SENSOR/SWITCH A CIRCUIT RANGE/PERFORMANCE). I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP AND AFTER THEY DID THEIR DIAGNOSIS I WAS TOLD THE VEHICLE, NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION. THIS VEHICLE HAS BEEN WELL MAINTAINED WITH ONLY 50K MILLS AND NOW NEEDS A BRAND NEW TRANSMISSION. THE TECH FROM THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THIS A COMMON THING WITH CVT TRANSMISSIONS, ESPECIALLY ON NISSANS; WHICH IS WHY HE RECOMMENDS CUSTOMERS BUY AN EXTENDED WARRANTY. IF THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH CVT TRANSMISSIONS WHY HASN'T THERE BEEN A RECALL OR REDESIGN TO FIX THE ISSUE? IT IS VERY DANGEROUS TO NOT HAVE YOUR VEHICLE ACCELERATE WHEN YOU NEED IT TO. HOW MANY ACCIDENTS HAVE BEEN CAUSED OR LIVES LOST BY DEFECTIVE CVTS? IT IS A VERY SCARY THING TO DRIVE A VEHICLE WITH THIS PROBLEM. PLEASE DO SOME ABOUT THIS. WE DO NOT WHAT THIS TO TURN INTO A TAKATA AIRBAG SITUATION. AFTER BEING WARNED ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. IF YOU GOOGLE NISSAN CVT TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS, YOU WILL FIND VIDEOS AND FORUMS WITH COMPLAINT AFTER COMPLAINT REGARDING THIS PROBLEM. PLEASE GET THIS ISSUE FIXED. MY WIFE AND I BOTH HAVE VIDEOS OF WHAT TOOK PLACE.

THE CAR OFTEN HESITATED TO ACCELERATE WHEN PRESSING ON THE GAS THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT WILL TAKE OFF SWIFTLY. IT'S STARTING TO DO IT OFTEN AND THERE ARE NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS. THIS HAPPENED WITH MY DAUGHTER DRIVING AS SHE MADE A LEFT HAND TURN & ALMOST CAUSED HER TO BE HIT.

THE CONTACT RESTARTED THE VEHICLE HOWEVER, WHILE APPROACHING A STOP LIGHT, SHE HEARD AN ABNORMAL KNOCKING SOUND COMING FROM THE ENGINE WITH AN UNKNOWN WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT HAD TO RESTART THE VEHICLE SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE REACHING HER DESTINATION. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED FROM HER RESIDENCE TO JIM BROWNE CHEVROLET, INC. (11300 N FLORIDA AVE, TAMPA, FL 33612) WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH TRANSMISSION FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TOWED TO MAUS NISSAN OF NORTH TAMPA (11011 N FLORIDA AVE, TAMPA, FL 33612) HOWEVER, THE DEALER REFUSED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE UNDER WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE REMAINED AT THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
ENGINE RPM IS UNCONTROLLABLE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AT 87781 MILES NO PROBLEMS BEFORE THIS FAILURE BECAUSE I WAS NOT AWARE OF THIS MANUFACTURER FAILURE I HAVE EXCEEDED MY EXTENDED WARRANTY BY 3K MILES AND NOW I'M IN A BAD POSITION TO DEAL WITH THIS,I STILL OWE ON THIS CAR.THIS IS VERY SHAMEFUL FOR LETTING NISSAN GET AWAY WITH THIS DEFECT,NOW WE THE CONSUMERS HAVE TO PAY.

MY 2016 ALTIMA SR IS EXPERIENCING A SPORADIC DELAY WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP. IT WON'T REV OR DO ANYTHING FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS NO MATTER HOW FAR DOWN THE PEDAL IS. THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN IT'LL GO. THERE IS NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND NO CODES. IF I TURN THE CAR OFF, IT'S LIKE IT RESETS AND HAS MORE POWER AFTERWARDS. THE DEALER HAS CONSULTED THEIR 'TECH LINE', THIS HAPPEN TWICE ONE AT 38000 AND NOW 68000.

LOCKS ARE UNLOCKING THEMSELVES DRIVING AND WHEN PARKED
WHILE DRIVING MY NISSAN ALTIMA AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, THE TRANSMISSION STARTED TO SHUDDER AND EVENTUALLY STOPPING PULLING IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC. I WAS ALMOST HIT BY AN 18 WHEELER THAT BARE HAD ENOUGH TIME AND SPACE TO SWERVE AND GO AROUND ME. THIS COULD'VE EASILY BEEN A FATAL ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF A FAULTY CVT TRANSMISSION THAT NISSAN KNOWS ABOUT BUT REFUSES TO CORRECT. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND AS EXPECTED THEY SUGGESTED REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION WHICH IS A $5,000 OR MORE REPAIR. SO I CONTACTED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS IN HOPE OF GETTING SOME ASSISTANCE FROM NISSAN SINCE THE VEHICLE IS A 2016 WITH ONLY A LITTLE OVER 100K MILES. AND LIKE I'VE READ ON SO MANY OTHER FORUMS AND COMPLAINTS, NISSAN REFUSED TO OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE. THEY WOULD RATHER RISK SOMEONE BEING INJURED OR KILLED WHEN THESE CARS JUST RANDOMLY STOP PULLING WHILE TRAVELING ON THE ROAD IN TRAFFIC. I'VE OWNED SEVERAL OTHER NISSANS, AND EVERY ONE WITH THE CVT HAD THIS PROBLEM, I SHOULD'VE KNOWN BETTER THAN TO PURCHASE ANOTHER PIECE OF JUNK NISSAN BUT I GAVE THEM THE BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT AND TOOK A CHANCE TO ONLY BE IN THE SAME SITUATION WITH A BAD CVT TRANSMISSION. MY THINK IS NISSAN KNOWS THIS IS A PROBLEM AND HAS BEEN A PROBLEM OF THEY'VE HAD SINCE THEY WENT TO THE CVT TRANSMISSION BUT THEY WON'T OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE OR REPAIR THE ISSUE. EVEN THE LADY THAT I SPOKE TO AT CONSUMER AFFAIRS SAID SHE HAD THE SAME ISSUE. NISSAN DID HAVE A CLASS ACTION SUIT FILED AGAINST THEM FOR THIS WHERE THEY EXTENDED THE TRANSMISSION WARRANTY TO 84K MILES BUT THEY'RE PROBLEMS USUALLY START RIGHT AFTER 84K MILES. I KNOW SOME WILL SAY 100K OUT A TRANSMISSION IS GOOD BUT I DISAGREE, IF YOU LOOK AT SOME OF THE COMPETITORS LIKE HONDA AND TOYOTA'S, THEY'RE DRIVETRAINS SURPASSES THE NISSANS BY HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF MILES. I OWN A 2013 HONDA ACCORD WITH THE CVT, IT'S AT 265K MILES WITH ABSOLUTELY NO ISSUES.

CAR WAS FINE. HAD IT SERVICED 4 MONTHS AGO AND WAS TOLD CAR WAS IN GOOD CONDITION. TODAY GOT AN CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. HAD IT TOWED NOW BEING TOLD IT'S A TRANSMISSION ISSUES AND WILL COST 4000 TO REPLACE. I JUST FINANCED THIS CAR ABOUT A YEAR AND A HALF. I OWE FINANCE COMPANY 343 A MONTH. I WAS TOLD IT SHOULD BE UNDER RECALL BECAUSE THE 2016 NISSAN CVT TRANSMISSIONS WERE RECALLED BUT MINE IS NOT SHOWING. WHAT CAN I DO?BOTH JOBS HAVE BEEN CUT DUE TO COVID.. IT'S CHRISTMAS TIME AND NOW A TRANSMISSION ON A FAIRLY NEW CAR. THIS CAR GAVE ME NO WARNING.. NO NOISES... NOTHING AT ALL TO INDICATE MY TRANSMISSION NEEDED SERVICE. ONE DAY IT'S FINE NEXT DAY MY TRANSMISSION IS OUT. PLEASE HELP. I CAN NOT AFFORD A 4000 REPAIR ON A CAR I JUST BOUGHT LAST YEAR PLUS PAY A CAR NOTE. CAN MY CAR BE CONSIDERED APART OF THE 2016 TRANSMISSION RECALL? MY CAR STOP RUNNING ON ME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD IN A HIGH TRAFFIC AREA. ON FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 27TH AS MY WIFE CAME HOME FROM WORK, SHE CALLED ME TO REPORT THAT THE CAR WAS BEHAVING STRANGELY, SHUDDERING AND LOSING POWER. WE HAVE NEVER HAD ANY DRIVABILITY ISSUES WITH THIS CAR SINCE WE BOUGHT IT, NOR ANY MECHANICAL PROBLEMS OF ANY KIND. SHE MANAGED TO GET HOME AND WHEN I TOOK A LOOK AT IT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AND WE DECIDED TO TOW IT TO THE DEALERSHIP ON SATURDAY MORNING IN ORDER TO GET THE ISSUE DIAGNOSED. FROM WHAT WAS EXPLAINED TO US AT THE NISSAN DEALER TODAY, TUESDAY, DECEMBER 1ST, WE WERE TOLD THAT UNDER NISSAN'S POLICIES, ANY CAR THAT HAS A "BRANDED" TITLE CAUSES THE NEW CAR'S LIMITED WARRANTY TO BECOME NULL AND VOID. WE BOUGHT THIS CAR USED ON FEBRUARY 7, 2017 WHEN IT HAD 2,356 MILES. THE VEHICLE TODAY HAS LESS THAN 35,000 MILES SINCE NEW. THE ISSUE IS THE CVT TRANSMISSION HAS FAILED, WHICH IS WIDELY KNOWN BY NISSAN TO BE IN AN ISSUE IN SEVERAL MODEL VEHICLES INCLUDING THE ALTIMA FOR AT LEAST SIX YEARS THAT I AM AWARE OF. WE ARE IN NO POSITION TO SPEND OVER $3500 PLUS DIAGNOSTIC COSTS TO REPAIR THIS VEHICLE, AND HAVING THE UNCERTAINTY THAT THIS ISSUE COULD RE-APPEAR AGAIN AT ANY TIME IN THE FUTURE AND WE WILL AGAIN BE FORCED TO SPEND ANOTHER UNDETERMINED AMOUNT SIMILAR OR HIGHER THAN THE CURRENT ESTIMATED COSTS. ADDITIONALLY, IF AND WHEN THIS TRANSMISSION IS REPLACED, WE FALL BACK INTO THE SITUATION THAT THE TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT WILL HAVE AN UNKNOWN LIMITATION ON THE WARRANTY OF THE REPAIR. THROUGH CLASS ACTION REMEDIES NISSAN HAS EXTENDED THE FACTORY WARRANTY TO COVER THESE REPAIRS TO CUSTOMERS WHO ARE OUTSIDE OF THE REGULAR WARRANTY PERIOD (ESSENTIALLY THE SAME AS NOT HAVING A FACTORY WARRANTY), EXTENDING IT TO AS MUCH AS 120,000 MILES IN SOME CASES, AND EVEN TRANSFERRABLE TO NEW OWNERS. WE CONTACTED AND OPENED A CASE AT NISSAN, BUT THEY SAID NO. NO MORE NISSAN VEHICLES FOR ME!

IF AN OPERATOR PUTS THE VEHICLE IN PARK, THIS DEFECT IS REPEATED, HOWEVER NOW DRIVERS WILL BE RELUCTANT TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK, THUS RESULTING IN CIRCUMSTANCES WHERE THE VEHICLE MAY UNINTENTIONALLY ROLL FORWARD SETTING UP THE POSSIBILITY OF PEDESTRIAN DEATH/INJURY OR PROPERTY DAMAGE RESULTING IN THE VEHICLE ROLLING FORWARD IF THE BRAKE IS NOT CONSTANTLY ENGAGED. NEXT DAY CAR DROVE FINE. HAD TWO SIMILAR EPISODES IN THE FOLLOWING MONTHS WHILE DRIVING IN TRAFFIC, CAR WITH SUDDENLY SLOW DOWN AND NOT RESPONDING TO ACCELERATION, RPM INCREASED 5-6K, THESE LASTED LESS THAN A MINUTE AND THEN DROVE NORMAL AGAIN.LAST WEEK HAD A MAJOR EPISODE, WHILE IN TRAFFIC AT 40 MILES AN HOUR, WAS NOT ACCELERATING AGAIN AND SPEED STUCK AT 40 MPH. AND RPMS INCREASED TO ABOUT 5 TO 6000, NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON, ENGINE SOUND AS IF STRUGGLING. CAR IS NOW JERKING WHEN REVERSING, ONLY HAS 44,800 MILES. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND THEY ARE SEVERAL VIDEOS ON YOUTUBE WITH SIMILAR MODEL ALTIMA EXPERIENCING SIMILAR PROBLEMS, MOST PEOPLE THINK IS THE CVT TRANSMISSION THAT IS FAULTY AND OVERHEATING.

ONE TIME THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND IT SHOWED THE SOLENOID #2 NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. ONCE THE CAR WAS TURNED OFF IT RESETS SOMEHOW AND WORKS FINE FOR A WHILE THEN DOES IT AGAIN. SO I WILL STOP AND RESTART THE CAR BEFORE I GET TO AN INTERSECTION SO I WON?T GET HIT BECAUSE MY CAR WON?T GO. IT WILL ALSO SHUDDER ON HILLS REGARDLESS OF BEING COLD OR HOT. DEFINITE SAFETY HAZARD AND MY DAUGHTER WANTS MY CAR SO BRINGING IT IN TO GET THE SOLENOIDS REPLACED AND TRANSMISSION FLUSHED TO SEE IF THIS FIXES THE ISSUE. THE CAR HAD A SLOW ACCELERATION, WHEN I STOPPED ON A STOP LIGHT/SIGN. WHILE DRIVING, THE CAR JUST ACCELERATES ALL ON ITS OWN. WHEN I STOP AT A STOP SIGN OR RED LIGHT. I TRY TO DRIVE OFF AND THE CAR DOES NOT GO. IT MOVES VERY SLOWLY AND TAKES A COUPLE SECONDS TO GO. IT IS VERY DANGEROUS. I REALLY WISH THIS WOULD GET INVESTIGATED.
THE CAR HAS A CVT TRANSMISSION THAT IS NOT FUNCTIONING PROPERLY. THE TRANSMISSION SHUDDERS, ACCLERATES ON ITS OWN, OR TURNS OFF COMPLETELY WHEN IT WARMS, IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE ON THE FREEWAY OR DRIVE IN WARM WEATHER DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE CAR SHUTS OFF WHEN IT HEATS UP. IT IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE, IT CONTINUES TO BE A PROBLEM WITH MANY OF NISSANS CVT TRANSMISSIONS THAT THEY ARE NOT FIXING.
Mileage: 81,000
CAR HAS THE SAME JUDDER CODE IN THE TRANSMISSION BUT HAVE BEEN TOLD THE VIN NUMBER WAS NOT SPECIFIED AS AFFECTED. CAR JUDDERS IN SLOW AND STOP AND GO TRAFFIC AND IN PARKING LOTS. THE CAR DID NOT MOVE FOR APPROXIMATELY FOUR TO FIVE SECONDS AND FINALLY BACKED OUT. PLACED THE CAR IN DRIVE AND DROVE TOWARD A STOP SIGN APPROXIMATELY 100 YARDS AWAY AND IT SEEMED LIKE IT WAS LOSING POWER AS I TRIED TO ACCELERATE AND AGAIN THE RPM'S INCREASED BUT SEEMED LIKE IT WOULD NOT MOVE. DROVE VEHICLE BACK HOME AND WITH SAME ISSUES AND PARKED FOR ABOUT THIRTY MINUTES. TRIED TO DUPLICATE BUT DROVE JUST FINE. THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE WHILE AT A RED LIGHT ABOUT A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO. TRIED ACCELERATING AND WOULD BARELY ACCELERATE LIKE IT HAD NO POWER. PLACED IN PARK, CUT THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON AND AFTER A FEW MINUTES, I HIT THE ACCELERATOR AND IT DARTED OFF. LUCKILY, THERE HAS BEEN NO ACCIDENTS BUT HAVE CONCERNS IF THIS HAPPENS WHILE ON A HIGHWAY. THIS ALTIMA ON HAS OVER 53K MILES AND HAVE NO IDEA WHY THIS IS HAPPENING BECAUSE I AM NOT A MECHANIC BUT HAVE READ SEVERAL STATEMENTS ON THE INTERNET FROM OTHERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE. NOT SURE WHY NISSAN HAS NOT PLACED A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE BUT IS VERY UNSAFE.

TOOK IT TO NISSAN DEALER THEY SAID NOTHING THEY CAN DO BECAUSE IT DOESNT SHOW AN ERROR CODE. SAME WITH NISSAN USA CORPERATION. SAYS NOTHING THEY CAN DO UNTILL SHOWS A CODE OR FAILS COMPLETELY. SO BASICALL THEY ARE SAYING THAT THIS VEHICLE IS SAFE TO DRIVE? NEW TRANSMISSION ABOUT 4500 DOLLARS. MY WARRANTY RUNS OUT AT 90,000 MILES, WICH IS AN AFTERMARKET WARRANTY THAT I PAID 2500 $ FOR. IM SURE THAT THEY HOPE THE WARRANTY EXPIRES SO I GET THE BILL. NISSAN KNOWS ABOUT PROBLEMS WITH CVT TRANSMISSIONS, AND FOOTPEDAL POSITION SENSORS AND DOES NOTHING ABOUT IT. HOW CAN THEY BE IN BUISNESS? HOW VAN THEY TELL ME IT IS SAFE TO DRIVE LIKE THIS. I THINK IT SHOULD BE A RECALL ISSUE.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE SELLER (CORNERSTONE PLYMOUTH, 763-559-5300, LOCATED AT 3901 VINEWOOD LN N, PLYMOUTH, MN 55441) WHO CONNECTED WITH THE THIRD PARTY WARRANTY COMPANY AND REPAIRED THE VEHICLE. ADDITIONALLY, WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS AT A CAR WASH IN JULY OF 2019, THE REAR WINDOW SHATTERED WITHOUT WARNING OR AN IMPACT. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 65,000.

ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, AFTER COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP VEHICLE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AFTER PUSHING THE ACCELERATOR. IN ADDITION TO THIS NOW THE TRANSMISSION WILL NOT UP SHIFT FOR ROAD SPEED. VEHICLE, WHEN PLACED IN PARK OR NEUTRAL, WILL REV UP WHEN ACCELERATOR IS PUSHED BUT NOT WHILE TRANSMISSION IS ENGAGED IN DRIVE. AGAIN THE ACCELERATION PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED MULTIPLE TIMES OVER THE PAST 4-6 MONTHS. THE SHIFTING EPISODE OCCURRED IN ADDITION TO THE AFORE MENTIONED PROBLEM TODAY 20 OCT 2019.

I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE CAR STARTED JERKING LIKE IT DIDN'T WANT TO GO AND I GOT OFF THE HIGHWAY BECAUSE IT WAS UNSAFE..MADE IT TO A STOP LIGHT AND THE CAR DIDN'T WANT TO GO..BUT IT WENT AFTER A COUPLE OF TRIES..I WENT SHOPPING AND GOT BACK ON THE HIGHWAY TO HEAD HOME AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AND WENT TO GET IT LOOKED AT AND THEY TELL ME A LOT OF THE NISSAN ARE HAVING THIS SAME PROBLEM AND IT'S THE TRANSMISSION WHICH COST A LOT OF MONEY..I HAVE AROUND 75,000 MILES ON MY NISSAN ALTIMA

THE CAR STARTED SHACKING ONCE IT WOULD GO ABOUT 25-30 MPH. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNED ON AFTER AND IT WAS READ BY A MECHANIC AS A CODE P0841-TRANSMISSION FLUID PRESSURE SENSOR/SWITCH. THIS HAPPENS ON CITY STREETS AND HIGHWAY DRIVING.
CAR STARTED TO LURCH AND WHINE WHILE DRIVING AT ANY SPEED. TWO WEEKS LATER IT GOT WORSE AND STARTED TO LOSE POWER OR FAIL TO ACCELERATE WHILE DRIVING. NOW VEHICLE WILL NOT GO INTO GEAR MOST TIMES. WHEN IT DOES IT FAILS TO MOVE FORWARD OR BACKWARD, WHILE PRESSING THE GAS PEDAL. MECHANIC INFORMED ME THAT THE TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING AND NEEDS TO BE REBUILT OR REPLACED.

ON THE 14TH OF JUNE, 2019 I WAS DRIVING TO WORK. WHEN SUDDENLY I FELT MY CAR POWER DECREASING AS I PRESSED THE GAS. SOON AS THAT HAPPEN I NEW SOMETHING WAS WRONG SO FOR MY SAFETY AND OTHER I TOOK THE NEAREST EXITED TO LOCAL STREET AND FOUND A SAFE AREA TO CHECK MY CAR. TURN IT OFF AND BACK ON AND I STARTED DRIVING SGAIN IT SEEMED LIKE NOTHING HAPPENED BUT AFTER ABOUT 10 LATER IT COMPLETELY LOST POWER NO MATTER HOW HARD I PRESSED THE GAS. SO I CALLED A TOW TRUCK AND WE TOOK TO THE REPAIR SHOP AND I FOUND OUT THAT THE TRANSMISSION ON MY CAR HAS DIED AND IT WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED. AND THAT WILL COST ME ALOT OF MONEY. SO I CALLED A NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME IT WILL. COST ME $3000 FOR NEW TRANSMISSION. SO MY NEXT OPTION WAS TO CHECK WITH NISSAN IF THEY WILL HELP ME SO I CALLED THE NISSAN CUSTOMER SERVICE SO THEY ASKED HOW MUCH MILES I HAD IN THE CAR AND I TOLD THEM 70,000 MILES. BUT SADLY THEY TOLD ME MY WARRANT END AT 60,000 MILES. I NEED MY CAR FOR WORK SO AT THE END IT TOOK ABOUT A WEEK TO GET IT FIXED AND COSTED ME AROUND $2000. WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD TO DEAL WITH WITH THIS CAR. WHAT SURPRISED ME IS THAT I ALWAYS TOOK GOOD CARE OF IT SINCE THE FIRST TIME I GOT IT I MADE SURE ALL MAINTENANCE THAT WAS NEEDED FOR IT WAS DONE BUT I WAS SURPRISED THAT MY TRANSMISSION DIED AT ONLY 70,000 MILES. SO HOPEFULLY THIS HELP IN ANYWAY FOR OTHER WHO HAVE THE SAME ISSUE.

I HAD STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, WHEN IT TURNED GREEN MY CAR STALLED AND WOULDN'T ACCELERATE. ONCE IT DID, IT WOULDN'T PICK UP SPEED. CAR WILL GO UP TO 4RPM AND WILL ONLY GO 10-15 MILES P/HR. NO SERVICE LIGHT HAS APPEARED. THIS HAPPENED IN CITY STREETS. THIS FIRST HAPPENED TWO WEEKS AGO AND BEEN HAPPENING EVERY TIME I'VE DRIVEN THE CAR, WHICH HAS BEEN THREE MORE TIMES, HAVE NOT DRIVEN IT SINCE.

WHEN I WENT TO SLIGHTLY MOVE FORWARD TO SEE IF I HAD THE RIGHT AWAY MY CAR JOLTED FORWARD. JUST SPED UP AND WOULD NOT RESPOND TO DE ACCELERATION. I ALMOST CRASHED INTO CHILDREN CROSSING A SIDE WALK. THE ACCELERATION WAS COMPLETELY OUT OF MY CONTROL. THIS HAS HAPPENED A COUPLE OTHER TIMES JUST NOT AS SIGNIFICANT. I DID NOTICE IT'S HAPPENING WHOLE MY AC IS ON.

IN MARCH 2019 MY VEHICLE HAD 54,000 MILES. I WAS STOPPED AT A LIGHT & WHEN I HIT THE GAS AND THE CAR JERKED FORWARD AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE, LEAVING ME SIT IN TRAFFIC. IT EVENTUALLY MOVED. I TOOK IT TO JONES JUNCTION NISSAN AND THEY "COULD NOT HAVE AN ERROR CODE" FOR THE PROBLEM, MADE ME BUY A CARB KIT TO FIX IT. TWO MONTHS LATER, IN MAY 2019, WITH 58,000 MILES ON MY CAR, I WAS DRIVING AND THE CAR STOPPED ACCELERATING. IT WOULD NOT MOVE WHEN I HIT THE GAS AND I HAD TO DRIFT FOR 2 MILES TO AN ADVANCE AUTO PARTS. WHEN I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND THEN BACK ON, IT STARTED WORKING AGAIN, BUT WOULD HESITATE ON OCCASION, PARTICULARLY WHEN STOPPED. I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP AGAIN AND THEY COULD NOT FIND AN "ERROR CODE" SO REFUSED TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION EVEN THOUGH WHEN THE MECHANIC DROVE IT, HE ALSO FELT THE HESITATION. NISSAN HAD THE DEALERSHIP "RE-PROGRAM" THE TRANSMISSION AND SENT ME ON MY WAY. NISSAN REFUSED TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. ONE MONTH LATER I WENT IN FOR AN OIL CHANGE AND LET THE MECHANIC KNOW IF WAS STILL HESITATING A LITTLE BIT WHEN I WOULD BEING TAKING OFF FROM A STOP. YESTERDAY, AUGUST 26, WITH 62,000 MILES ON MY CAR, IT STARTED HESITATING AND JERKING ON THE HIGHWAY AS I WAS DRIVING AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AGAIN. I HAD TO PULL OVER, STOP THE CAR, RESTART IT, BUT THE PROBLEM CONTINUED. IT DID THE SAME THING ON THE RIDE HOME, JERKING EVERY TIME I HAD MY FOOT ON THE GAS, AND NOT ACCELERATING AT STOP LIGHTS AND IN TRAFFIC. I'VE HAD THE VEHICLE IN TO JONES JUNCTION NISSAN 4 TIMES NOW FOR THE SAME ISSUE. TO DATE, THEY HAVE NOT REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION - WHICH IS A CVT TRANSMISSION - AND AFTER LOOKING ONLINE I SEE THERE ARE MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS AND ISSUES WITH THIS TYPE OF TRANSMISSION. IT HAS A PROBLEM THAT NEEDS FIXING! IT IS GETTING RIDICULOUS THAT I HAVE TO TAKE IT IN THERE SO OFTEN FOR THE SAME ISSUE AND NISSAN WILL NOT RESOLVE IT.

THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY EXPIRED AND OPENED A CASE FOR THE CONTACT. THE MANUFACTURER OFFERED TO HELP PAY 60% OF THE REPAIR COSTS FOR THE TRANSMISSION ONLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED AND THE CONTACT WAS ASSIGNED A LOANER VEHICLE AT NO CHARGE. THE CONTACT STILL HAD TO PAY OVER $2,000 TO COVER THE ACTIVE SHUDDER ASSEMBLY AND WAS STILL RESPONSIBLE FOR $1,500 TOWARDS THE REMAINING TRANSMISSION COSTS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 112,000.

MY 2016 ALTIMA BEGAN TO STUDDER AND JERK WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE AND LOOSES POWER WHILE DRIVING WHICH IS AN EXTREME SAFETY CONCERN. TOOK THE CAR TO 2 DIFFERENT TRANSMISSION SHOPS ONE STATED I NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION $4500 AND THE OTHER WANTS TO CHARGE $987 IN ORDER TO TAKE APART THE TRANS TO FIND THE EXACT PART AND REPAIR THAT, CONTACTED NISSAN AND WAS TOLD THE EXTENDED WARRANTY IS FOR YEARS 2003-2010 WHICH IS DISGUSTING SINCE MY CAR IS ONLY 3YRS OLD GETTING THE P0841 TRANSMISSION FLUID PRESSURE SENSOR SWITCH A/B CIRCUIT RANGE/PERFORMANCE. NISSAN STATED I WOULD HAVE TO TAKE IT TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP FOR THEM TO DIAGNOSE AND THEY WILL TRY AND NEGOTIATE SOMETHING TO LOWER THE COST OF REPAIR DEALERSHIPS WANT TO CHARGER ANYWHERE FOR $99-$150 JUST TO LOOK AT IT. I AM ALREADY OUT OF MONEY BECAUSE I DRIVE FULL-TIME FOR A LIVING AND ONLY HAVE ONE CAR. I WILL NEVER EVER BUY A NISSAN AGAIN I AM DISAPPOINTED THAT NISSAN WOULD EXTEND A WARRANTY ON AN OLDER CAR BUT NOT ONE 3 YRS OLD FOR A PROBLEM THAT THEY ARE FULL WELL AWARE OF.
WHEN CAR IS COLD IT WILL RUN NORMAL. WHEN THE CAR HEATS UP THE CAR WILL NOT TAKE OFF. WHEN DRIVING ITS LIKE YOU STOMP ON THE BRAKE THEN START AGAIN. TOOK THE CAR TO AUTO ZONE AND HAD THEM READ THE CODES THERE WERE TWO TRANSMITION CODES. SO WE TOOK THE CAR TO THE NISSAN DEALER SHIP AND THERE WERE A BUNCH OF DIFFERENT CODES. THEY TOLD ME I NEEDED A OXYGEN SENSOR AND A NEW TRANSMITION. ALMOST 8 THOUSAND DOLLARS WORTH AND THE CAR ONLY HAS 88000 MILES. WOW IS ALL I AM SAYING. OUT OF POCKET FOR A NEWER NISSAN AND THEN DONT HAVE THE MONEY TO GET IT FIXED. VEHICLE IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THANK YOU NISSAN.

TRANSMISSION PROBLEM FOR MILES OVER 60,000. WHEN AT STOP LIGHT AND TRY TO ACCELERATE WHEN THE LIGHT CHANGES, CAR DOES NOT MOVE WHEN ACCELERATOR IS PRESSED. WHILE DRIVING, CAR DOES NOT SWITCH GEARS AND CAR SLOWS DOWN. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR THE DRIVER AND PASSENGERS. IF YOU ARE DRIVING ONE OF THESE CARS, IT WILL BE DEADLY ONE DAY. I DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW THESE VEHICLES CAN BE SOLD. AFTER MANY PEOPLE LOSE THEIR LIVES, SOMEONE WILL NOTICE. THIS CAR IS DANGEROUS ON CITY STREETS AND ALSO INTERSTATE DRIVING.

I HAVE A 2016 NISSAN ALTIMA WITH ABOUT 68,000 MILES AND MY TRANSMISSION HAS TROUBLE CHANGING GEARS AFTER DRIVING IT FOR A FEW MINUTES. AS I CHANGE GEARS FROM 0 TO 40 MPH, THE CAR STARTS JERKING OR TAKES A WHILE TO REACH 40 MPH. IT ALSO HAPPENS WHEN I'M DRIVING AROUND THE CITY AND I MAKE A FULL STOP AT A STOP LIGHT. AFTER THE LIGHT TURNS GREEN, WHEN I START ACCELERATING THE CAR WON'T SPEED UP NO MATTER HOW FAR I PUSH THE ACCELERATOR, AFTER 6-10 SECONDS HAVE PASSED IT'LL START MOVING BUT IN A VERY JERKING MANNER. TO FIX THE ISSUE AT THE MOMENT, I HAVE TO TURN OFF THE CAR AND LET IT REST FOR A FEW MINUTES. BUT, IT STILL DOES THIS EVERY TIME I DRIVE. IN THE HIGHWAY, I CAN NOT GO FASTER THAN 70 MPH BECAUSE ONCE I GET OUT OF THE HIGH WAY AND SLOW DOWN THE CAR WILL HAVE THE SAME GEAR CHANGING ISSUE AND IT FEELS LIKE THE CAR WILL GIVE UP ANY SECOND. THIS WASN'T AN ISSUE WHEN I GOT THIS CAR WITH ABOUT 48,000 MILES ABOUT A YEAR AND A HALF AGO. IT STARTED ABOUT 8 MONTHS AFTER GETTING IT AND IT HAS ONLY GOTTEN WORSE. I TOOK MY CAR TO MY MECHANIC TO LET ME KNOW WHAT THE ISSUE WAS AND HE TOLD ME THAT IT WAS THE CVT TRANSMISSION. SINCE MY CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND IT DOESN'T FALL UNDER THE RECALL MADE FOR THE CVT TRANSMISSION, MY ONLY SOLUTION WOULD BE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET.

TAKATA RECALL. MY CAR STARTED MESSING UP AFTER I CAME BACK FROM TEXAS. IT WAS DOING FINE UNTIL IT STARTED LOSING POWER. WHEN I PRESS THE GAS IT WAS GOING SLOW AND I COULD PRESS IT ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND IT WOULDN'T MOVE. THE DEALER THAT I GOT IT FROM (CAR KING) HAVE WENT OUT OF BUSINESS AND THEY ARE IN A LOT OF TROUBLE.
MY VEHICLE'S CVT TRANSMISSION FAILED AT 97,000 MILES. I EXPERIENCED THE SAME SYMPTOMS EVERYONE ELSE HAS EXPERIENCED WITH THIS TRANSMISSION - VIBRATIONS, WILDLY FLUCTUATING RPMS AND FREQUENT DOWNSHIFTS. WITHIN A MATTER OF A FEW DAYS THE TRANSMISSION STARTED SLIPPING. I FEEL LUCKY I WASN'T KILLED WHEN MY VEHICLE'S TRANSMISSION SLIPPED WHILE I WAS ATTEMPTING TO CROSS TRAFFIC. AFTER MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALER QUOTED ME A PRICE OF $4,087 FOR A TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT, I CALLED NISSAN CUSTOMER CARE AND REQUESTED THEY COVER THE REPLACEMENT COST OF THE CVT BUT THEY REFUSED. NO THREE-YEAR-OLD, NORMALLY-DRIVEN VEHICLE UNDER 100,000 MILES SHOULD EVER HAVE ITS TRANSMISSION FAIL. THE NISSAN CVT PROBLEM IS A NATIONAL TRAVESTY. I WAS A NISSAN CUSTOMER FOR LIFE BUT WILL NEVER PURCHASE NOR ENDORSE THEIR VEHICLES EVER AGAIN.

I PURCHASED A 2016 NISSAN ALTIMA IN 2017. AFTER ABOUT 60,000 MILES I NOTICED IT STARTED TO JERK WHEN I ACCELERATED. SINCE MY OXYGEN SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED I THOUGHT THAT WAS THE ISSUE. ONCE I HIT 70,000 MILES MY TRANSMISSION COMPLETELY WENT OUT ON ME. JUST 10,000 MILES OVER THEIR FACTORY WARRANTY. NISSAN HAS EXTENDED THEIR POWER TRAIN WARRANTY IN THE PAST. HOWEVER, SINCE MY CAR IS A 2016 IT IS NOT COVERED IN THAT WARRANTY EXTENSION. THERE ARE NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ABOUT THEIR CVT TRANSMISSIONS. RATHER THAN FIXING THE ISSUE THEY EXTENDED IT ON OLDER MODELS, AND LEFT EVERYONE ELSE TO FIX IT ON OUR OWN DIME. NISSAN SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR EVERYONE OF THEIR VEHICLES NOT JUST A SELECT FEW OLDER MODELS. I HAVE OWNED A NISSAN FOR 12 YEARS. NEVER EVER AGAIN WILL I PURCHASE ANOTHER NISSAN. SINCE THEY OBVIOUSLY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE PEOPLE THAT PURCHASE THEIR VEHICLES

CVT TRANSMISSION SLIPPING, DELAYED CHANGING OF GEARS, NO RESPONSE OF GAS PEDAL. MY ALTIMA ROLLS INTO TRAFFIC WITH ME PRESSING THE GAS THERE IS A 3-5 SECOND DELAY BEFORE TAKING OFF. VERY DANGEROUS. NO ONE WAS ABLE TO RECREATE THE PROBLEM BUT NOW IT WON'T SHIFT. IT REVS HIGH AND WILL NOT TRANSFER TO WHEELS.
Mileage: 60,000
THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT SHIFT PROPERLY. AFTER ENGINE IS WARM, WHEN YOU PUSH THE GAS PEDAL, THERE IS ABOUT 5-6 SECOND DELAY BEFORE CAR WILL GO. IF YOU ACCELERATE TO GET ONTO HIGHWAY FROM ON RAMP, IT MAKES A RATTLING SOUND. IT IS GETTING TOO DANGEROUS TO DRIVE IT, SINCE YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO PREDICT WHEN IT WILL DO THIS. THIS ALWAYS SEEMS TO HAPPEN IF I AM IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC.

THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED NEW FROM ANDERSON NISSAN - LAKE HAVASU CITY, AZ AND WE ALSO PURCHASED THE EXTENDED WARRANTY (UP TO 60,000 MILES). AT APPROXIMATELY 64,000 MILES THE TRANSMISSION BROKE DOWN COMPLETELY. WHEN THIS WAS TOWED TO THE ORIGINATING DEALERSHIP, WE SPECIFICALLY ASKED IF THERE WERE ANY "KNOWN TRANSMISSION ISSUES" WITH THIS VEHICLE MAKE/MODEL/YEAR. WE WERE ONLY TOLD "THIS CAN SOMETIMES HAPPEN". WE HAVE SINCE LEARNED THAT THERE HAS BEEN A CLASS ACTION SUIT AGAINST NISSAN FOR THIS SPECIFIC ISSUE. ANDERSON-NISSAN CHARGED US $3700 TO REPAIR THE TRANSMISSION AND IS NOT ACCEPTING ANY RESPONSIBILITY OR REPLYING TO ANY EMAILS AS TO THEIR LACK OF TRANSPARENCY REGARDING TRANSMISSION ISSUES.

I HAVE AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM WHEN I'M DRIVING WHERE ALL OF A SUDDEN I CAN'T ACCELERATE. I'LL HAVE THE PEDAL TO THE FLOOR BUT NOTHING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING HAPPENING. THE GAS PEDAL IS FULLY DEPRESSED AND YET THE CAR SLOWS DOWN THE WAY IT WOULD IF YOU TOOK YOUR FOOT OFF THE GAS. THIS HAS HAPPENED 5 TIMES OVER THE PAST MONTH. BOUGHT THIS CAR NEW 2 YEARS AGO. I SHOULD NOT BE HAVING A PROBLEM LIKE THIS. I'VE BEEN TO 2 DEALERSHIPS AND THEY BOTH TELL ME THEY AREN'T GETTING A CODE SO THEY CAN'T SEE ANYTHING WRONG. ONE OF THE NISSAN MECHANICS ROAD TESTED IT WITH ME AND EXPERIENCED THE PROBLEM BUT I'M STILL BEING TOLD THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG. I SUSPECT SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH THE CVT. I'M TERRIFIED TO DRIVE IT BECAUSE I DON'T KNOW WHEN IT WILL HAPPEN. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. IT'S HAPPENED AT ALL SPEEDS - 5 MPH IN A PARKING LOT, 30 MPH ON THE STREET, 45-60 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY. MOST RECENTLY IT HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY AT 60 MPH. THE RPM WENT WAY UP BUT THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AND I COULDN'T GET IT TO GO ABOVE 60 MPH.

2016 NISSAN ALTIMA 2.5SR CVT TRANSMISSION FAILURE AT 26K MILES. WHILE IN MOTION GOING FREEWAY SPEEDS, VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOSES POWER WHEN ATTEMPTING TO MAINTAIN CRUISING SPEED AND RPMS FLUCTUATED INTENSELY UP AND DOWN. FELT VERY UNSAFE WHILE TRYING TO PULL OVER TO THE SHOULDER AND FEARED OTHER VEHICLES COULD HAVE STRUCK ME WHILE HAVING NO CONTROL OVER VEHICLE SPEED. BROUGHT VEHICLE INTO NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND CONFIRMED IT IS AN ISSUE WITH CVT TRANSMISSION REQUIRING $4K CVT TRANSMISSION REPAIR, LUCKILY COVERED UNDER 5 YEAR, 60K MILE WARRANTY. THIS ISSUE SEEMS COMMON WITH OTHER OWNERS OF THE CVT TRANSMISSION AND SHOULD HAVE ITS POWERTRAIN CVT TRANSMISSION WARRANTY EXTENDED ON NEWER MODELS TO 10 YEARS, 120,000 MILES JUST LIKE THE 2003-2010 YEAR MODELS WITH THE CVT HAVE RECEIVED.

I STOPPED AT A LIGHT AND PROCEEDED TO GO FORWARD AND THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE SO I PUSHED HARD ON THE ACCELERATOR AND THE CAR JUST TOOK OFF. I WAS ON A CITY STREET. I TOOK IT TO MY MECHANIC AND HE SAID THAT IT'S A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION. I THEN TOOK THE CAR TO THE NISSAN DEALER AND THEY RAN A FREE TEST AND SAID THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY $130 TO GET A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THAT WOULD LET ME KNOW IF IT IS THE TRANSMISSION. WE PURCHASED THE CAR NINE MONTHS AGO AT 30,000 MILES AND NOW IT IS OVER 60,000 MILE S. THE WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED AT 60,000 MILES. NISSAN KNOW THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND YOU HAVE DRIVERS WITH COMPLAINTS. IT IS JUST A MATTER OF TIME WHEN THEIR CARS WILL HESITATE AND SOMEONE IS GOING TO LOSE THEIR LIFE. MY CAR IS NOT THE ONLY ONE. FAMILIES ARE GOING TO BE TRAVELING AND THESE CARS HESITATE. THAT IS GOING TO BE A DEADLY SITUATION. I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS CAR. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER NISSAN.
AT 61,000 MILES (JUST 1000 MILES AFTER THE WARRANTY EXPIRED), THE CVT TRANSMISSION FAILED WHILE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. IT STARTED AS A KNOCKING THAT OCCURRED WHILE SHIFTING GEARS. THE NEXT DAY, THE ENGINE VIOLENTLY FLUCTUATED BETWEEN GEARS WHILE GOING ~60 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY. IT THEN REMAINED IN THE HIGH GEAR AFTER THE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP AT A RED LIGHT.

THE ISSUE OCCURS ON THE HIGHWAY, CITY STREETS, TURNING, AND CAR HAS HAD ISSUES WHILE IN MOTION. WHEN IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC, STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN OR HAVE TO STOP TO MAKE A TURN THE CAR HESITATES ABOUT 5-10 SECONDS AND THEN TAKES OFF. THIS HAS CAUSED ME TO ALMOST BE IN SEVERAL ACCIDENTS. I THOUGHT IT WAS BAD GAS SO SWITCHED GAS STATIONS AND IT STOPPED FOR A WHILE AND THEN STARTED BACK. WHILE DRIVING CAME TO A STOP TO MAKE A LEFT TURN. THE CAR HESITATED AND THEN WHEN THE TURN WAS COMPLETE THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE PASS 40MPH. I CAME TO ANOTHER STOP SIGN, CAR HESITATED, AND CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE PASS 20MPH. I HAD TO PULL OVER TURN THE CAR OFF AND BACK ON. IT STARTED ACCELERATING PROPERLY BUT STILL WITH THE HESITATION FROM A STOP. I TOOK THE CAR TO NISSAN AND THEY DID A DIAGNOSTIC TEST FOR $125 WHICH LED THEM TO SAY THAT THE VALVE BODY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED OR THE CAR NEEDS A NEW CVT. THE DEALERSHIP REQUEST ANOTHER $400 TO INSPECT THE TRANSMISSION TO SEE WHICH WAY IT COULD BE FIXED. ($1100 VALVE BODY AND $4000 CVT REPLACED. THIS IS VERY COSTLY AND A 2016 CAR SHOULD NOT NEED A TRANSMISSION. THERE IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH NISSAN'S CVT THAT I WAS NOT AWARE OF UNTIL NOW. AMONG OTHER THINGS THE SERVICE ADVISOR ADVISED THAT THIS JUST HAPPENS. WELL IT SHOULD NOT JUST HAPPEN IN A 3 YEAR OLD CAR.

WE PURCHASED THIS CAR LAST MAY AND SHORTLY THERE AFTER MAY BE A COUPLE OF MONTHS AFTER I START EXPERIENCING DELAYS ON ACCELERATION. I DRIVE ON THE HIGHWAY SO I USE THE CRUISE CONTROL. SO WHEN I STARTED EXPERIENCING THE DELAY ON ACCELERATION I STOP USING THE CRUISE CONTROL, BECAUSE I THOUGHT THAT WAS THE ISSUE. TO SHORTEN A LONG STORY AFTER I STOP USING THE CRUISE CONTROL, THE ISSUE REMAINED. I'M GOING TO GO MORE IN DEPTH ABOUT THE ISSUE. FOR EXAMPLE, I AM STOPPED AT THE STOP LIGHT. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNS GREEN, I ACCELERATE NOTHING HAPPENS FOR A FEW SECONDS THERE'S A DELAY FOR ABOUT FOUR TO 5 SECONDS AND THEN ACCELERATION COMMENCES IN THE RPMS GO WAY UP. AT THIS TIME I HAVE TO LET UP OFF THE EXCELERATOR AND EASE INTO ACCELERATION NOW. EVERY TIME I GO TO ACCELERATE THE RPMS GO WAY UP THE TRANSMISSION DOES NOT WANT TO GO INTO THE NEXT GEAR. I HAVE TO PULL OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD TURN OFF THE CAR TO RE-BOOT IT. MOST OF THE TIME THIS WORKS SOMETIMES IT DOESN'T. SO ABOUT A WEEK AGO I WAS DRIVING HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AND THEN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON. NOW I HAVE CODES TO TAKE TO THE DEALERSHIP. WHEN I TAKE THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP FOR DIAGNOSTICS, TRANSMISSION RELATED CODES COME UP AND NOW THE CAR NEEDS A NEW TRANSMISSION. WHEN I PURCHASED THIS CAR IT WAS ABOUT 49,000 MILES ON IT. I STARTED HAVING THIS ISSUE WELL BEFORE I GOT TO 60,000 MILES. 60,000 MILES IS THE CUT OFF FOR NISSAN'S POWERTRAIN WARRANTY. IF I HAD GOTTEN THE CODES BEFORE 60,000 MILES, IT WOULD BE COVERED ON UNDER NISSAN'S WARRANTY. MY GIRLFRIEND CHECKED ON CAR COMPLAINTS.COM AND NOTICED THAT THERE ARE SEVERAL OTHER NISSAN OWNERS WITH THE SAME ISSUE. I RESPECTFULLY REQUEST AN INVESTIGATION FOR RECALL ON THIS MATTER. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR YOUR TIME AND CONSIDERATION, (XXXXX) PARTS OF THIS DOCUMENT HAVE BEEN REDACTED TO PROTECT PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

HAD THE VEHICLE CHECKED OUT AT THE LOCAL DEALER DUE TO THE RPM'S JUMPING ON THE FREEWAY AT HIGH SPEED. TOLD ALL WAS WELL, NO PROBLEMS. A WEEK LATER MY CAR LOST ALL POWER PULLING OUT INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC WITH MY DAUGHTER IN THE CAR. HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO ANOTHER DEALER AND WAS TOLD IT NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION. I HAVE BEEN MADE AWARE THAT MANY OTHERS HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM AS WELL. THIS MUST BE ADDRESSED. MYSELF AND MY DAUGHTER ARE VERY LUCKY!

AFTER THE CAR IDLES FOR A PERIOD OF TIME, CAR HESITATES TO GO. AFTER PRESSING ON THE GAS PEDAL FOR A FEW SECONDS CAR TAKES OFF VERY FAST. SOME TIMES THE CAR WILL REV HIGH BEFORE IT SHIFTS. IF I TURN THE CAR OFF AND TURN IT BACK ON THE PROBLEM GOES AWAY FOR AWHILE. THIS HAPPENS IN TOWN STOPPING AND GOING.

ON WEDNESDAY 1/30/2019 MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING NORTH ON I-17 ENTERING FLAGSTAFF WHEN THE TRANSMISSION STOPPED WORKING. THE ENGINE WAS REVING TO ABOUT 6000 RPM BUT THE CAR WOULD ONLY GO ABOUT 5 MPH. SHE MANAGED TO GET THE CAR TO A PARKING LOT AND CALL ME FOR HELP. AFTER ABOUT 30 MINUTES THE TRANSMISSION COOLED DOWN AND WORKED NORMALLY. I HAD HER TAKE THE CAR TO A LOCAL SHOP AND HAVE IT CHECKED OUT. THEY GOT A CODE P0776. THEY CONTACTED NISSAN AND FOUND THE CAR TO BE UNDER AN EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT I PURCHASED UNTIL 100,000 MILES. MY DAUGHTER DROVE HOME THE NEXT DAY AND WE TOOK IT INTO PINNACLE NISSAN WHERE I PURCHASED THE CAR. THEY COULD NOT GET THE CODE TO COME UP SO ARE UNABLE TO FIX THE TRANSMISSION. THIS IS ABOUT THE TENTH TIME THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAS SLIPPED, THIS BEING THE MOST SEVERE. PINNACLE NISSAN AND NISSAN USA ARE TELLING ME TO CONTINUE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE UNTIL THE WARNING LIGHT COMES ON, THEN BRING THE VEHICLE IN FOR A TRANSMISSION REPLACEMENT. I TOLD THEM BOTH THAT THE WARNING LIGHT HAS NEVER COME ON WHEN THE TRANSMISSION SLIPS, SO COULD THERE BE A PROBLEM WITH THE CARS COMPUTER ALSO WHICH IS WHY THEY CAN NOT GET A CODE TO COME UP? THEY SAID NO, THAT IS NOT HAPPENING?

OCCASION DELAYED ENGAGEMENT WHEN TAKING OFF AND SLUGGISHNESS AT ACCELERATION. CAR SLOWLY TAKES OFF AT HIGH RPMS AND MAKES SOUNDS AS IF IN WRONG GEAR. AFTER TURNING OFF CAR, AFTER ABOUT 10-20 MINS CAR SHIFTS PROPERLY.

2016 ALTIMA, BARELY 3 YEARS OLD, 71,000 MILES. ABOUT A WEEK AGO, THE CAR BEGAN TO JERK AND SHUDDER AND RPM'S JUMP UP AND DOWN WHEN I ACCELERATE FROM A STOP. BEFORE THE DAY WAS OVER, IT WAS HAPPENING WHILE I WAS DRIVING (ANY WHERE FROM 0-60+MPH). THEN CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WHEN I HIT THE GAS, IT MAY JERK/LURCH FORWARD OR MAY NOT GO ANYWHERE. I WOULD HAVE TO LET OFF THE GAS AND TRY AGAIN. SOME TIMES IT WOULD CORRECT ITSELF, OTHER TIMES NOT AND RPM'S WOULD STAY HIGH-- 3-5. FELT LIKE IT DIDN'T WANT TO "CHANGE GEARS" (ITS A CVT SO ONLY ONE "GEAR") WHILE JERKING AND ACCELERATING/DECELERATING. VERY DISTRACTING AND CONCERNING TO SAY THE LEAST. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP TODAY TO HAVE THE DIAGNOSTICS RAN. WAS CONTACTED AND TOLD IT WAS THROWING 2 CODES - SUB ASSEMBLY FAILURE AND PRESSURE FLUID SENSOR FAILURE. THESE ARE TRANSMISSION CODES. WAS TOLD I NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION, $4200 OUT THE DOOR..... IN WHAT WORLD IS IT "NORMAL" FOR A FAIRLY NEW CAR WITH NO PRIOR ISSUES TO HAVE A COMPLETE TRANSMISSION FAILURE?? THE DEALER AGREED THERE IS NOTHING WE COULD'VE DONE TO PREVENT THIS. I HAVE CONTACTED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND FILED A COMPLAINT, REQUESTING GOODWILL ASSISTANCE WITH THE REPAIR COSTS. I WAS TOLD SOMEONE WOULD GET BACK TO ME BY CLOSE OF BUSINESS TOMORROW. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY A DEFECTIVE TRANSMISSION. READING THESE COMMENTS, IT APPEARS THAT THE REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSIONS DO NOT PERFORM MUCH BETTER. I WILL BE GETTING OUT OF THIS CAR ASAP.

THE LOCAL DEALER (NALLEY NISSAN OF ATLANTA, 2551 THE NALLEY WAY, ATLANTA, GA) AND THE MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE, BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 61,000. WHILE DRIVING, THE CAR WOULD DECREASE IN SPEED AND ACTED IF IT WANTED TO STALL.I TOOK THE CAR IN FOR AN APPOINTMENT AT THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD IT WAS READING A CODE WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND AS SCHEDULED TO COME IN 3 DAYS L AS LATER WHEN THE PART WAS IN. AFTER BEING AT THE DEALERSHIP ALMOST HALF A DAY, THEY TELL ME THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REBUILT. THE DEALERSHIP ATTEMPTED TO GET ME TO DRIVE IT HOME (OVER AN HOUR AWAY( AND BRING IT BACK ANOTHER DAY. I WAS NOT GOING TO ACCEPT THIS AND REQUESTED A CAR TO DRIVE, WHICH THEY DID DO SO. HOWEVER, WHEN ENTERPRISE RENTAL PICKED ME UP, THEY IMMEDIATELY KNEW IT WAS TRANSMISSION ISSUES AND PROCEEDED TO TELL ME THAT THEY ARE ONLY GOOD FOR 2 YEARS.

ON SATURDAY, MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WENT ON. I WENT TO A CAR SHOP LATE AFTERNOON AT AND THEY READ CODES FOR 2 ISSUE W/TRANSMISSION AND 1 CODE FOR ABS. THE CAR IS STALLS AT STOPLIGHTS, REVERSE DOES NOT WORK AT ALL TIMES EXCESSIVE EXHAUST WAS COMING OUT OF TAILPIPES. ON HIGHWAY, THE TACHOMETER MOVES FAST WHEN ADDING ACCELERATION AND POWER DELAYS. WHEN I GO TO THE WYLER DEALERSHIPS IN CINCINNATI, OHIO, THEY HAVE 2-3 MONTH DELAY ON TRANSMISSION WORK AND OTHERS IN THE AREA (WYLER EASTGATE) ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE WITH A BACKLOG OF TRANSMISSION WORK - THIS SEEMS TO BE A BRAND ISSUE WITH THE CVT TRANSMISSION AND WHEN ALL THESE PEOPLE ARE GETTING WORK DONE ON THEIR NISSAN TRANSMISSIONS AT THE DEALERSHIPS THIS IS DEFINITELY A QUALITY ISSUE. I HOPE YOU REQUEST A RECALL ON THESE TRANSMISSIONS OR PROVIDE A REBATE TO GET THIS WORK DONE AT THE DEALERSHIPS FOR THE NISSAN CUSTOMERS. I HAVE CALLED NISSAN CUSTOMER SERVICE AND SPOKE W/ ADAM HE PROVIDES ME WITH A CASE #33804054 (VERY PLEASANT FELLOW) ONCE I CAN GET INTO A DEALERSHIP FOR SERVICE THIS WEEK (WYLER OF CINCINNATI) IN COLERAIN. THANK YOU

RANDOMLY CAR JUTTERS AND LOSES ACCELERATION, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AT 54,000 MILES ON IN TOWN HIGHWAY ROAD. CAR WILL NO LONGER WILL ACCELERATE BEFORE 5-6 RPMS CONSISTENTLY FOR ABOUT 5 SECONDS THEN WILL KICK AND ACCELERATE. CODE PULLED READ TRNSMISSION FLUID SYSTEM EAS THE PROBLEM. TOOK CAR IN NEXT DAY AFTER FIGHTING WITH POCATELLO NISSAN KIA BECAUSE THEY REFUSED TO LOOK AT IT FOR A WEEK. HAD TO HAVE ENTIRE TRANSMISSION REPLACED. DROVE THE CAR FOR ANOTHER 1500 MILES AND SAME THING BUT I CAUGHT THE DRAG AND NEEDLE FLUCTUATION SOON ENOUGH THAT THE CAR DIDN'T GET NEARLY AS BAD ON THE REGULAR IN TOWN ROADS. TOOK IT IN A SECOND TIME AND TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED AGAIN. GOING ON 56600 MILES AND NOTICING A DRAG AND FLUCTUATION AGAIN ON IN TOWN ROADS BUT NISSAN WONT LOOK AT IT TIL THE ISSUE CAN BE REPLICATED AGAIN.

I PURCHASED THIS CAR IN DECEMBER 2017; HOWEVER, IN SEPTEMBER OF 2018 THE MALFUNCTION LIGHT CAME ON. I HAD THE CAR DIAGNOSED BY AUTOZONE FIRST WHICH ADVISED IT WAS A TRANSMISSION PRESSURE FLUID SENSOR. I THEN FOLLOWED UP WITH THE NISSAN DEALER, BOMMARITO ON 661 DUNN RD IN HAZELWOOD, MO. 63042 TO FIND OUT PART OF THE TRANSMISSION NEEDS TO BE BUILT, CODE P17F0. THE CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE OVER 35-40 MPH, AND THE RPMS ARE JUMPING ALL OVER. THE ESTIMATE OF REPAIR IS 4600.00 THIS CAR HAS APPROXIMATELY 66,500 MILES ON IT AND I BOUGHT IT WITH APPROXIMATELY 49,000. THIS APPEARS TO BE A FAULTY TRANSMISSION, AS I HAVE HAD CARS WELL OVER 120, 000 MILES AND NO TRANSMISSION ISSUES. RPMS WERE JUMPING UP DURING NORMAL DRIVING AND EVEN WHEN THE CAR WAS COASTING. EVENTUALLY (ABOUT 30 MINUTES LATER WHILE TRYING TO MAKE IT TO A SAFE STOPPING POINT) THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE FORWARD OR IN REVERSE. THIS OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING ON HIWHAY AND ON SMALLER ROADS (35 MPH) ALSO. WHEN STOPPED AT TRAFFICS LIGHT IS WHEN IT WOULDN'T MOVE. I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY, AS I APPROACHED THE RAMP, MY CAR STARTED MOVING SLOW. I PRESS THE ACCELERATOR TO PICK UP SPEED, MY CAR JERKED A BIT. AS I PROCEED TO EXIT THE FREEWAY IT PICKED UP SPEED. I ARRIVE AT THE TRAFFIC SIGNAL, STOPPED, WHEN THE LIGHT CHANGED, I HAD TROUBLE WITH MY CAR PICKING UP SPEED. PREVIOUSLY EXPERIENCING THIS SITUATION FROM AN OLD CHEVROLET VEHICLE I KNEW IT WAS THE TRANSMISSION. I CALLED MY PERSONAL MECHANIC AND EXPLAINED WHAT WAS GOING ON WITH MY CAR, AND I THINK THE TRANSMISSION IS GOING OUT. MY MECHANIC EXPLAINED MY CAR IS TOO NEW TO HAVE TRANSMISSION ISSUES, HE ASKED I BRING IT TO THE SHOP. MY MECHANIC IS AN HONEST MECHANIC IF HE IS UNABLE TO REPAIR YOUR VEHICLE, HE WILL NOT TOUCH YOUR VEHICLE. I BROUGHT MY VEHICLE TO MY MECHANIC HE DROVE MY VEHICLE HIMSELF, RETURN TO THE SHOP IN 5 MINUTES, EXPRESS TO ME, "TAKE YOUR CAR TO NISSAN RIGHT NOW! THERE MUST BE A RECALL ON THE TRANSMISSION YOUR VEHICLE IS TOO NEW FOR TRANSMISSION ISSUES." MY 2016 NISSAN ALTIMA, I PURCHASED OCOBER 15, 2016 STARTED OUT WITH 22 MILES, I PUT THOSE 22 MILES AFTER TEST DRIVING. NOW AT 66,048 MILES, I AM FACED WITH TRANSMISSION ISSUES. I FOUND NO FACTORY RECALL FOR THE TRANSMISSION. NISSAN FOUND TWO RECALLS, THE TRANSMISSION WAS NOT ON THE LIST. I AM DEVASTATED I READ NISSAN'S ARE THE 3RD BEST VEHICLES. MY CAR ONLY HAS 40,000 MILES I BOUGHT IT BRAND NEW AT LEAST THEY SOLD IT NEW IN JULY 2016 AT SERRA NISSAN IN BORMINGHAM AL. AND NOW 2 YEARS AS OF 2 MTHS AGO 40,000 MILES LATER . THE REPAIR SHOP HERE IN CHATTANOOGA, TN INFORMWD ME THAT THEY HAD TO TAKE THE WHOLE TRANSMISSION OUT AND REBUILD IT, WHAT? REBUILD UT AT 40000 MILES, THIS IS UNREAL. PLEASE HELP. I NOLONGER HAVE CONFIDENCE IN DRIVING THIS VEHICLE. THIS CAR IS COVERED STILL THANK GOD UNDER THE POWERTRAIN WARRANTY BUT HAVING CONFIDENCE IN A REBUILT TRANSMISSION AT 40K MILEAGE IS UNHEARD OF.. BASICALLY I DROVE FROM TN TO AL CAME BACK CAR DIDNT HARDLY MOVE AFTER GETTING OFF FREEWAY AND STOPPING AT A RED LIGHT, IT WAS DISGUSTING AND VERY FRUSTRATING. SO I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER NISSAN EAST AND. MECHANIC GUY BY THE NAME OF MIKE CALLED ME AND TOLD ME THAT THEY HAD TO TAKE THE WHOLE TRANAMISSION OUT AND REBUILD IT. I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF A CAR'S TRANSMISSION HAVING TO BE REBUILT AT 40000. I HAVE OWNED PLENTY OF NEW VEHICLES NEVER EVER EXPERIENCE THIS BEFORE. LOOK LIKE NISSAN IS ON MY BLACK LIST AND CONFIDENT IN KNOWING THAT THEY PRODUCE VEHICLES WITH TERRIBLE TRANSMISSIONS AND SEEMINGLY LEMONS. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT ABOUT 80 MPH WHEN MY RPM STARTED TO GO UP AND DOWN IN A WAY THAT I'D NEVER SEEN. IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THAT, MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I TOOK MY CAR TO ADVANCE AUTO PARTS TO SEE WHAT WAS WRONG AND IT READ, 'P0841 TRANSMISSION FLUID PRESSURE SENSOR/SWITCH A CIRCUIT RANGE/PERFORMANCE'. I TOOK MY CAR TO MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALER AND TOLD THEM WHAT WAS WRONG WITH MY CAR, AND RIGHT AWAY WITHOUT LOOKING UNDER THE HOOD OF MY CAR THEY SAID THAT I NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION WHICH WOULD COST ME $4,000. I THOUGHT MAYBE I NEEDED TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION FLUID PRESSURE SENSOR, SO I CALLED AROUND LOOKING FOR THE PART AND EVERY SHOP TOLD ME TO CALL NISSAN.

WHILE ALREADY IN MOTION THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED EXTREMELY SLOWLY ONCE AGAIN AS I HAVE REPORTED ON THIS WEBSITE BEFORE, BUT THIS TIME IT WAS MORE DANGEROUS BECAUSE AS I WAS MERGING ONTO THE FREEWAY, I WAS PRESSING ON THE ACCELERATOR AND WHEN THE RPM GOT TO 2000, IT STOPPED AND THE VEHICLE WAS ACCELERATING EXTREMELY SLOW. THERE WAS A 18 WHEEL TRUCK APPROACHING ME FAST FROM BEHIND, BUT I COULD NOT GET ANY SPEED. LUCKILY HE SWERVED ON TO THE NEXT LANE AND PASSED ME. THE RPM METER STOPPED AT 2000 AND IT TOOK 22 SECONDS TO GET FROM 60 MPH TO 75MPH AS THE VIDEO SHOWS. IT HAPPENED SEVERAL MORE TIMES DURING THIS DRIVE AND I WAS ABLE TO RECORD EACH INSTANCE PANNING FROM THE GAUGE DISPLAY TO THE ACCELERATOR SHOWING I AM PRESSING IT ALL THE WAY DOWN AND THE VEHICLE DOESN'T RESPOND. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO NISSAN AND WHEN I SHOWED THE VIDEO TO THE SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE, HE IMMEDIATELY TRIED TO BLAME THE ISSUE ON MY FLOOR MATS. HE SAID THAT IT APPEARS THE FLOOR MATS WERE PREVENTING THE ACCELERATOR FROM GOING DOWN THUS CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO NOT GAIN SPEED. HOWEVER I EXPLAINED TO HIM THAT THAT IS NOT THE CASE AS THE FLOOR MAT WAS NOT TOUCHING THE ACCELERATOR AT ALL. YOU CAN CLEARLY SEE MY FOOT PRESSING IT DOWN ALL THE WAY WITHOUT ANY INTERFERENCE FROM THE MAT. IN ADDITION, IF THE FLOOR MAT WAS PREVENTING THE ACCELERATOR FROM BEING PUSHED ALL THE WAY DOWN AS HE CLAIMS, HOW IS IT POSSIBLE FOR THE VEHICLE TO CONTINUE TO GAIN SPEED, ALL BE IT EXTREMELY SLOW? THAT RIGHT THERE PROVES HIS THEORY WRONG BECAUSE IF THE ACCELERATOR WAS INDEED STOPPED BY THE MAT, THEN THE MPH AS WELL AS THE RPM WOULD MAINTAIN AT THE SAME RATE. I ALSO REMINDED HIM THAT THIS HAPPENED ON A LOCAL STREET WHEN I WAS ONLY GOING 35 MPH AND THE ACCELERATOR WOULD HAVE BEEN NO WHERE NEAR THE FLOOR BOARD. NISSAN ADVISED ME THEY WERE ABLE TO DUPLICATE THE ISSUE AND ARE CONTACTING NISSAN TECH SUPPORT FOR DIRECTION

FOR THE SECOND TIME WHILE IN THE MIDDLE OF DRIVING, THIS TIME ON THE FREEWAY, THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE WHEN THE GAS PEDAL WAS PRESSED. I PRESSED IT ALL THE WAY DOWN AND THE RPM WOULD NOT GO UP AND THE CAR WAS SLOWING DOWN. IT HAPPENED BEFORE ON A LOCAL STREET WITH THE SAME SCENARIO. ON THE FREEWAY I WAS AT 70 MPH WHEN IT HAPPENED AND ON THE LOCAL STREET I WAS AT 35 MPH. IT STARTED ACCELERATING AFTER I HAD TO LET THE CAR CRUISE FOR ABOUT TEN SECONDS AS IT WAS LOSING SPEED. ALSO I AM NOW HAVING TO TAKE THE CAR IN TO SERVICE FOR THE 5TH TIME BECAUSE THE REVERSE BACK UP CAMERA WILL NOT WORK. THE CAMERA GOES BLACK AND NOTHING IS VISIBLE. NISSAN TRIED TO SAY IT WAS BECAUSE OF MY PHONE CONNECTED TO BLUETOOTH IN THE CAR AND TO TRY IT WITHOUT A PHONE CONNECTED. I DID AND IT STILL HAPPENED. I RECORDED A VIDEO OF THE INCIDENT AGAIN BUT IF I CAN'T HAVE A PHONE CONNECTED TO BLUE TOOTH TO BE HANDS FREE, THEN I AM VIOLATING THE LAW. I CAN'T SEE BEHIND ME WHICH IS VERY TROUBLESOME WHEN IT IS FOGGY OUTSIDE AND CAN'T SEE VERY WELL OUT THE WINDOWS. I HAVE PROVIDED TO IMAGES. IN AUGUST, THE VEHICLE AGAIN HAS THE LIGHT ON, TAKE IT BACK TO DEALER; THEY REPLACE THE FIRST SENSOR (THE ONE THAT WAN'T BAD) AND THE LIGHT GOES OFF. HOWEVER I AM TOLD THAT THE TECH THOUGHT IT MAY BE A WIRING HARNESS ISSUE; "LETS SEE IF THIS CORRECTS IT"; SINCE THE AIRBAG WON'T DEPLOY IF THE SENSOR IS BAD!! DECEMBER 19TH; DRIVING IN A SNOWSTORM, THE LIGHT COMES ON AGAIN. SINCE IT'S A SAFETY ISSUE TO DRIVE IT AS WITHOUT THE SENSOR; THE AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY. THE FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG OFF LIGHT CONTINUES TO COME ON WITH PASSENGERS IN THE SEAT AT VARIOUS SPEEDS. NISSAN HAS ATTEMPTED TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE AT LEAST FOUR TIMES WITHOUT SUCCESS. THERE IS ALSO AN NOTICEABLE VIBRATION IN OR NEAR THE DRIVE TRAIN WHEN EVER ENGINE IS OPERATING AT OR NEAR 1750 RPM THAT ALSO HAS NOT BEEN ELIMINATED.
