TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MUFFLER HAD BEEN REPLACED 3 TIMES DUE TO IT CRACKING AROUND THE HEADER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MUFFLER DAMAGED WIRING HARNESS AND THE COMPUTER SYSTEM, WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO STALL. HUMMEL'S NISSAN (4770 MERLE HAY RD, DES MOINES, IA 50322) WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE MUFFLER WAS REPLACED TWICE BY THE DEALER HOWEVER, THE MUFFLER FAILURE RECURRED. THE MUFFLER WAS REPLACED A THIRD TIME BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 68,000.

THE FUEL SHOWS THAT I HAVE A QUARTER OF A TANK OR A BIT MORE LEFT AND THE NUMBER MILEAGE ON THE SCREEN SHOWS THE SAME. MY VEHICLE RANDOMLY STOPS WITHOUT WARNING. THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES. I HAD THE VEHICLE REPAIRED LAST YEAR FOR THE SAME REASON AND HERE I AM AGAIN. I SEE THERE IS A RECALL AND MY CAR WAS NOT INCLUDED. I CALLED NISSAN AND THE REPRESENTATIVE TOLD ME TOLD CONTACT NHTSA TO BE MORE EFFECTIVE.....HE ACKNOWLEDGED THE PROBLEM WITH THE TRUCKS. I FEEL AS THOUGH IT IS A DEFINITE SAFETY HAZARD. WE WERE LUCKY THIS TIME. MY AIR BAG LIGHT WILL NOT SHUT OFF EITHER AND HE MENTIONED THIS WAS ANOTHER RECALL.. WHY DID THIS VIN MISS THE RECALLS. IT CLEARLY HAS THOSE ISSUES. THEY WANT ME TO GO TO A DEALER AND I CANNOT AFFORD TO DO THAT. THE DEALERS ARE MORE EXPENSIVE. HOPEFULLY THERE IS ASSISTANCE. THERE IS A RATTLE WITH THE A/C FAN. I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THAT HOWEVER I HAVE AN ODOR FROM IT AS WELL. I HAVE BEEN TO THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP MULTIPLE TIMES AND COMPLAINED ABOUT THE LOUD EXHAUST NOISE AND THEY SAID IT WAS NORMAL FOR THIS VEHICLE. THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF REPORTS OF THIS EXACT PROBLEM ONLINE. I HAVE JUST FAILED MY STATE SAFETY INSPECTION IN MISSOURI AND FOUND OUT THAT THE LOUD NOISE WAS BECAUSE OF A MANUFACTURER DEFECT ON THE EXHAUST MANIFOLDS. BOTH ARE BROKEN IN THE SAME PLACE. NISSAN IS UNWILLING TO PROVIDE REPLACEMENT PARTS THAT HAVE BEEN DEFECTIVE FROM THE START.I BELIEVE IT IS UNETHICAL FOR NISSAN TO KNOWINGLY NOT OFFER REPLACEMENTS. THE VEHICLE UNEXPECTEDLY SHUT DOWN WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH. THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN COMPLETELY BUT THE ELECTRICAL PARTS WERE STILL FUNCTIONING. LUCKILY I WAS DRIVING AT A TIME WHEN THERE WAS NO TRAFFIC SO I WAS ABLE TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. I WAITED FOR ABOUT 5 MINUTES AND TRIED TO RE-START THE VEHICLE HOPING THAT I COULD AT LEAST GET HOME. AFTER ABOUT 20 MINUTES AND A COUPLE OF ATTEMPTS, THE VEHICLE DID START BUT STALLED AND SHUT DOWN AGAIN A FEW BLOCKS FROM HOME WHILE I WAS DRIVING AT 35MPH. AGAIN I WAS ABLE TO COAST TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TRIED TO RE-START IT WITH NO SUCCESS. AT THIS POINT I HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED. THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP CHANGED THE IPDM AND SUPPOSEDLY FIXED THE VEHICLE. I PICKED IT UP AND AFTER DRIVING ONLY 10 MILES, IT WOULD NOT START BACK UP. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALER AGAIN AND THEY CAME BACK SAYING THAT NOW THE CATALYTIC CONVERTERS HAD TO BE REPLACED AND INFORMED ME THAT BOTH THE IPDM AND CATALYTIC CONVERTERS WERE A COMMON ISSUE WITH THE ARMADA. SOUNDS TO ME LIKE A RECALL SHOULD BE IN PLACE FOR THIS. I CAN ONLY THANK GOD FOR HELPING ME TO STAY CALM WHEN THE VEHICLE SHUTDOWN AND THAT NEITHER MY KIDS OR I GOT INTO AN ACCIDENT ON THE FREEWAY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL MECHANIC WHO PERFORMED A TUNE UP AND CHANGED THE OIL; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUED TO OCCUR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER WHO WAS PERFORMING A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WHEN THE COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT VIEWED INFORMATION ON THE INTERNET THAT INDICATED THAT THE INTEGRATED POWER DISTRIBUTION MODULE MIGHT HAVE CAUSED THE FAILURE TO OCCUR. THE CONTACT HAD NOT SPOKEN WITH THE MANUFACTURER. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 108,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90,000.

2005 NISSAN ARMADA.. HAVE A HOLE IN RADIATOR THAT NEEDS REPLACEMENT. HAS HAPPENED TWICE WITHIN THE PAST TWO MONTHS. HAD IT REPLACED IN AUGUST WHILE ON VACATION THEN LAST WEEK SMELLED THE ANTIFREEZE AND I TOOK IT TO A DEALER AND THEY SAID THERE IS A WHOLE IN THE CENTER OF THE RADIATOR AND WE NEED A NEW RADIATOR. WE HAVE A GUARD ON BOTTOM OF TRUCK TO PREVENT THIS FROM HAPPENING AND DEALER SAYS THIS IS A RARE OCCURRENCE WITH THIS MODEL. PURCHASED THE EXTENDED WARRANTY AND IT IS CURRENTLY SITTING AT THE DEALER WAITING TO HAVE AN INSPECTOR COME AND SEE IT SO THE WARRANTY COMPANY CAN DECIDE IF IT WILL BE COVERED. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 NISSAN ARMADA. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH, THE ENGINE COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO RESTART THE ENGINE ONE HOUR AFTER THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE BATTERY AND ALTERNATOR WERE OPERATING NORMALLY; THEREFORE, HE SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT AT AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR THE VEHICLE TO BE REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,700 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 27,900.

THE VEHICLE HAS A CONSISTENT, OVER-ACCENTUATED VIBRATION AND NOISE THAT EMANATES FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT WHEN UNDER ACCELERATION, ESPECIALLY MINOR ACCELERATION IN HIGH GEAR. THE NOISE IS LOUD AND DISTRACTING, THE VIBRATION IS PRONOUNCED AND CAN BE FELT IN THE STEERING WHEEL, GAS & BRAKE PEDAL AND GEAR SHIFT. IT GIVES YOUR FEET AND HANDS A "BUZZY" VIBRATION WHICH IS UNCOMFORTABLE AND DISTRACTING. IT FEELS AND SOUNDS AS IF A MOTOR MOUNT OR SOME TYPE OF VIBRATION DAMPING PART HAS FAILED AND IS SENDING THE VIBRATION INTO THE PASSENGER COMPARTMENT. LOCAL NISSAN DEALER SERVICE DEPT. CLAIMS "IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE THAT WAY BECAUSE ITS GOT A BIG ENGINE IN IT." I THINK NOT. *NM

DT*: THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH ON THE FREEWAY, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE ENGINE WAS POWERLESS, BUT THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM REMAINED OPERATIONAL. THERE WAS SUFFICIENT MOMENTUM TO PULL THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A SERVICE DEALER. DUE TO THE HOLIDAY, THERE HAS BEEN NO COMMUNICATION WITH THE SERVICE DEALER.

DT: THE CONSUMER STATED THAT ON MARCH 5, 2005 THE DRIVER'S AND PASSENGER'S SEAT BELTS LOCKED WHEN APPLYING THE BRAKES, THE SEAT BELTS TIGHTENED LIKE THEY WERE CHOKING THE CONSUMER. THE MIDDLE ROW SEAT LOCKED, BUT DID NOT CATCH IN ORDER TO KEEP THE CONSUMER FROM GOING FORWARD. ALSO WHEN PRESSING ON THE BRAKES THE VEHICLE SHOOK SO VIOLENTLY THAT ONE COULD NOT HANG ONTO THE WHEEL. THE CONSUMER HAD TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR THE BRAKES, AND THE DEALER SAID THAT THE VEHICLE NEEDED A NEW BRAKE SYSTEM. IN ADDITION, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAD COME ON. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERS ON OCTOBER 5, 2005 BECAUSE THE FUEL PUMP CRACKED. THE VEHICLE NEEDED A NEW EXHAUST MANIFOLD AND THE ENGINE BLEW OUT. THE VEHICLE NEEDED A NEW ENGINE. CURRENTLY THE VEHICLE HAD 12, 000 MILES ON IT. *AK UPDATED 11/29/2005 - *NM (12/05/05) THE CHILD SAFETY SEAT WAS REPLACED TWICE. THE REAR SECOND ROW SEAT SNAPPED AND PUSHED FORWARD WITH THE CHILD IN THE CAR SEAT. *SC
