Odometer Fraud. The contact purchased a 2013 Nissan Juke. The vehicle was a local dealer sale. Upon delivery of the vehicle, the odometer reading was not displayed on the instrument panel due to a faulty Tire Pressure Monitoring System; however, the Title indicated that the mileage was 83,950. After repairing the Tire Pressure Monitoring System, the odometer displayed 127,000 miles. The local dealer was contacted regarding the mileage discrepancy, but no assistance was offered.

The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 56,000.

EACH TIME NISSAN SIMPLY CHARGES THE BATTERY, OR REPLACES IT. ON AT LEAST 8 SEPARATE OCCASIONS NISSAN HAS CLEARED THE JUKE AS OK TO DRIVE, ONLY TO HAVE IT FAIL TO START WITHIN SEVERAL MONTHS. WE HAVE BEEN STRANDED MANY TIMES, AND NOW CARRY JUMPER CABLES AND 2 HAND HELD POWER STARTERS, THOUGH THESE OFTEN FAIL TO START THE CAR. WE DO NOT WANT TO RESELL THIS VEHICLE ON THE USED MARKET TO UNSUSPECTING CONSUMERS SINCE THE JUKE IN ITS DEFECTIVE CONDITION IS CLEARLY A SERIOUS HAZARD TO USERS AND OTHERS ON THE ROAD. WE ASKED NISSAN ON APRIL 12, 2017 TO REPURCHASE THE VEHICLE, BUT THEY REFUSED BY LETTER DATED APRIL 21, 2017 SINCE OUR LEMON LAW ONLY PROTECTS BUYERS FOR 20 MONTHS FROM PURCHASE. I CONTINUED TO MY DESTINATION AND THE SPEED WAS SHOWING MY SPEED PLUS 40.
