ABS STAYS ON THEN THE (BRAKE WARNING LAMPS WILL IMMEDIATELY COME AFTER A SHORT TIME, THE ENGINE WILL GO INTO A "FALL SAFE" CONDITION WHICH WILL LIMIT VEHICLE SPEED. THE ENGINE WILL STOP RUNNING AND TURN OFF ON ME. ALSO MY SUBFRAME IS ROTTEN AND IS NOW DISCONNECTED THE MECHANIC QUOTED ME $2,600 TO REPAIR JUS THE SUBFREAME.
WHILE DRIVING I LOST ALL POWER FOR THE MOTOR AND HAD TO HAVE TO BATTERY REPLACED CUZ LOST ALL POWER
WHILE DRIVING THE MURANO IT SLOWED DOWN AND WOULDN'T GO ABOVE 20MPH. AFTER ABOUT A MILE IT JUST STOPPED RUNNING & WOULDN'T CRANK BACK UP. ALL THE FLUIDS WERE AT THE RIGHT LEVELS. TOOK IT TO A JOHNNY'S MECHANIC SHOP & THEY SAID IT WAS THE ENGINE.

THE CAR IS STALLING WHEN I STOP WHINING REAL BAD
THIS CAR HAS HAD A LOT OF ELECTRICAL ISSUES. THE CAM SHAFT POSITION SENSORS HAVE HAD TO BE REPLACED THREE TIMES AND THE ECU HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE SUNROOF IS ALSO DEAD. THE BOSE STEREO IS ALWAYS GOING OUT. I'M UPSET BECAUSE THERE WAS MANY VINS THAT NISSAN COVERED BECAUSE THEY RECOGNIZED THAT THERE WAS A ISSUE, BUT MINE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD! YOUR CAR CAN DIE AT ANY TIME, ANY SPEED AND ANY WHERE. MY CAR IS NOW IN THE SHOP FOR THE 3RD TIME WITH CAM SENSOR ISSUES AFTER BEING STRANDED TWICE. THE CAR JUST WON'T START. THE BATTERY, ALTERNATOR AND STARTER ALL CHECK OUT GOOD.

A WIRE BROKE INSIDE THE ALTERNATOR CAUSING THE BATTERY TO STOP FROM CHARGING. MY FAMILY WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60MPH ON THE HIGHWAY WHEN THE CHARGER WARNING AND BRAKE WARNING LAMPS CAME ON. THE BATTERY BEGAN TO DISCHARGE AND THE CAR LOST POWER. WE PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND THE ENGINE WENT INTO A "FALL SAFE" MODE (ALL DASH INDICATORS AND RADIO DISPLAY FLASHED RAPIDLY) AND THEN THE ENGINE STOPPED RUNNING. THE ENGINE WOULD NOT RESTART AND THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED.

I WAS DRIVING ON A LARGE BYPASS 55 MPH. SUDDENLY, MY SPEED AND RPM'S DROPPED EVEN WITH PUSHING MY GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR. I PULLED OVER, PUT MY CAR IN PARK, AND TOUCHED THE GAS PEDAL. THE RPM'S INCREASED NORMALLY SO I BEGAN DRIVING AGAIN. WITHIN A SHORT DISTANCE IT HAPPENED AGAIN. I GOT OFF THE BYPASS AND PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT. I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND CHECKED MY FLUIDS. I RESTARTED THE CAR AND PULLED BACK OUT ONTO THE ROAD (40 MPH HIGHWAY). AS SOON AS I PULLED OUT IT DID IT AGAIN. I PULLED ONTO A BACKROAD. I NOTICED THEN THAT MY ABS LIGHT AND BATTERY LIGHT HAD COME ON. I TURNED ON MY 4 WAYS SINCE MY CAR WOULD NOT GO OVER 10 MPH. WHEN I TURNED THEM ON I HEARD WHAT SOUNDED LIKE AN ELECTRIC SHORT AND ALL OF MY LIGHTS AND GAUGES BEGAN FLICKERING WILDLY. WITH A VERY SHORT DISTANCE I BEGAN LOSING POWER TO EVERYTHING UNTIL MY CAR COMPLETELY STOPPED. I WAS ON THE SIDE OF A DARK ROAD AT 11 PM WITH NO LIGHTS OR POWER. WHEN THE TOW TRUCK ARRIVED HE SAID THAT SOUNDS LIKE THE ALTERNATOR. I LOOKED UP THE COST OF AN ALTERNATOR FOR MY VEHICLE AND FOUND OUT THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL: JULY 14, 2005 NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 05V319000 WIRE BREAKING INSIDE ALTERNATOR. THIS RECALLED DESCRIBED EXACTLY WHAT I HAD EXPERIENCED. IN THE MORNING, I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP REGARDING THIS AND AFTER A CALL BACK I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS "NO OPEN RECALL" ON MY VEHICLE. THEN I CALLED CUSTOMER AFFAIRS AT NISSAN CORPORATE FOR CLARIFICATION. I WAS TOLD THAT MY CAR'S RECALL WAS REPAIRED AT A DEALERSHIP (ALTHOUGH THEY HAD NO RECORD OF WHICH DEALERSHIP DID THE REPAIR) ON AN UNKNOWN DATE "BETWEEN 2005 AND THE PRESENT" SO NISSAN HAS CLOSED THIS RECALL AND IS NO LONGER RESPONSIBLE FOR THE REPAIR. I WAS INFORMED THAT EVEN IF I TOOK MY CAR IN AND IT WAS VERIFIED THAT THIS WAS THE SAME PROBLEM, THAT THEY WOULD NOT PAY FOR IT. I HAVE A CASE NUMBER FROM MY CALL TO NISSAN.

THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO STATED THAT THE FUEL PUMP FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO THE LOCATION OF THE FUEL TANK. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 06V003000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 66,000.

DRIVING ON A HIGHWAY WITH CHILDREN 65MPH COMING FROM AIRPORT, STARTING LOSING SPEED QUICKLY, BRAKE LIGHT AND CHARGING(BATTERY) LIGHT CAME LUCKILY MADE IT SIDE OF HIGHWAY DESPITE, HONKING HORNS AND SCREAMING KIDS, SOMEONE COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. THIS IS ON TOP OF THE ACCELERATION PROBLEM WHERE ALL OF A SUDDEN YOU WILL PRESS ON GAS PEDAL AND THE CAR DOESN'T GO AND THEN SUDDENLY LUNGES FORWARD, I HAVE ALMOST BEEN REAR- ENDED ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS DUE TO THIS. I HAVE PURCHASED NEW BATTERY, ALTERNATOR, ETC. I HAVE HAD THE THROTTLE SENSOR REPLACED. THIS CAR IS SO UNSAFE AND HAS BEEN A MONEY PIT. MANY MECHANICS INCLUDING NISSAN MECHANICS SAY THEY TEST DRIVE THE VEHICLE AND DON'T SEE THE ACCELERATION PROBLEM.

SO MANY PEOPLE HAVE THE SAME SITUATION AS I DO. IT IS DISGUSTING THAT YOU PAY ALL THIS MONEY FOR A RELIABLE CAR AND THEY N KNOW THERE IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND THEY DON'T CARE. THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM IS BAD ENGINE LIGHT GOING ON ALL THE TIME ALARM GOING OFF ALL THE TIME. ENGINE BURNES OIL VERY QUICKLY. ALL THESE THINGS ARE WRONG WITH THIS YEAR CAR IT IS JUST A LEMON THAT U HAVE TO KEEP POURING MONEY INTO ANDS IT DANGEROUS ON TOP OF IT.

REPLACED IT. AND AGAIN TODAY SAME THING. THIS IS SO DANGEROUS AND GETTING TO BE VERY EXPENSIVE. I SEE THERE WAS A RECALL ABOUT THIS ISSUE BUT NOT MY CAR. VERY UPSET. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE TO CORRECT THIS ISSUE BEFORE SOMEONE CAUSES AN ACCIDENT THAT COULD VERY WELL TAKE SOMEONE'S LIFE. I HAVE REPLACED THE CENSOR, BATTERY AND NOW TWO ALTERNATOR'S WITHIN 2 MONTHS.

I CALLED NISSAN CORP BECAUSE I KNEW THAT WAS A RECALL ID # 78963 - ENGINE AND ENGINE NISSAN IS RECALLING 362,891 MY 2003-2007 MURANO VEHICLES. THE INTAKE AIR DUCTS, WHICH ARE CONNECTED TO THE INTERMEDIATE RESONATOR IN THE AIR INTAKE SYSTEM OF THE ENGINE, MAY SEPARATE FROM THE RESONATOR WITH ENGINE MOVEMENT. THIS SEPARATION OCCURS DUE TO THE PREMATURE AGING OF THE MATERIAL USED IN THE INTAKE AIR DUCTS WHICH CAUSES EXCESSIVE SHRINKING, AND BECAUSE OF THAT ENGINE MAY STALL INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH. HOWEVER THE REPRESENTATIVE SAID THAT THERE IS NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT AND MY VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL EVEN THOUGH IT IS THE SAME MODEL AND YEAR OF THE VEHICLE RECALLED. *TR

THE SITUATION SEEMS TO BE EXACERBATED BY HEAT AND DIRECT SUNLIGHT ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR. MY CONCERN IS THAT NOT KNOWING IF THE DOOR IS LOCKED OR UNLOCKED CREATES A SAFETY HAZARD BOTH WHILE DRIVING AND IN THE EVENT OF A NEED FOR QUICK EXIT FROM THE VEHICLE. SIMPLY LOOKING AT THE MANUAL LOCKING SWITCH CAN BE DECEPTIVE BECAUSE IT WILL MOVE INTO THE LOCKED POSITION WITHOUT FULLY ENGAGING THE LOCK. FOR SAFETY REASONS I PREFER TO DRIVE WITH THE DOORS LOCKED. RETURNED VEHICLE TO THE DEALER AND INFORMED DEALER OF IDLER PULLEY PROBLEM RESEARCHED ONLINE AND REQUEST BELT SERVICE. WHEN MECHANIC REMOVED THE BELT, THE IDLER PULLEY ASSEMBLY WAS FOUND TO BE BROKEN. I BELIEVE THIS IS A SERIOUS DESIGN ISSUE AND NISSAN SHOULD PROVIDE A BETTER DESIGN AND RECALL A $16 PART. DT: THE CONSUMER STATES THAT THE 2003 NISSAN MURANO EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF POWER WHILE DRIVING AT 20 MPH. THE VDC OFF AND THE SLIP WHERE THE LIGHTS T CAME ON IN THE DASHBOARD. THESE LIGHTS CAME ON THE FIRST TIME THAT THIS HAPPENED. THE NEXT TIME THAT THE LOSS OF POWER WAS EXPERIENCED THE LIGHT DID NOT COME ON. THE CAR HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP TWICE FOR THIS ISSUE. THE DEALER HAS NO IDEA WHY THE CAR IS DOING THIS, SPECIFICALLY STATES THE CONSUMER. THE CONSUMER HAS CONTACTED NISSAN DIRECTLY BY MAIL AND RECEIVED A MESSAGE FROM NISSAN THAT THEY WANTED TO SCHEDULE A FINAL REPAIR ATTEMPT AT THE DEALERSHIP. THE MURANOS SHIFTER WAS ALSO STICKING, AND YOU COULD NOT GET THE CAR TO GO INTO PARK OR REVERSE. THE CAR WOULD NOT GO ANY HIGHER THAN NEUTRAL. THEN THEY ADVISED ME THAT ALTERNATOR NEEDS TO REPLACE WHICH WILL BE COVERED BY WARRANTY. I TOLD THEM SINCE ALTERNATOR CAUSED THE BATTERY TO GET DISCHARGE, I FELT THAT NISSAN SHOULD PAY FOR THAT TOO. THE DEALER SAID THAT THEY CAN NOT. HOWEVER, ABOUT COUPLE OF WEEKS, I RECVD A RECALL NOTIFICATION SATING THE FOLLOWING: "ON SOME 2003-2005 NISSA MURANO VEHICLES, THERE IS A POSSIBILITY THAT A WIRE BREAKING INSIDE ALTERNATOR COULD STOP THE BATTERY FROM CHARGING. IF THIS HAPPENS (WHICH HAPPENED IN MY CASE), THE CHARGE WARNING LAMPS WILL IMMEDIATELY COME ON AND THE BATTERY WILL BEGIN TO DISCHARGE. AFTER SHORT TIME, THE ENGINE WILL GO INTO A "FAIL SAFE" CONDITION WHICH WILL LIMIT VEHICLE SPEED. VERY SHORTLY AFTER THIS, THE ENGINE WLL STOP RUNNING. THIS COULD RESULT IN A CRASH". IN EARLY JANUARY 2005, THE CHARGE WARNING AND BRAKE WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON WHILE OPERATING MY 2003 NISSAN MURANO. AS A RESULT, I CONTACTED NISSAN SERVICE DEPT IN MY CITY. I TOOK IT IN, THEY REPLACED THE BATTERY AND THE ALTERNATOR WITHOUT CHARGE. HOWEVER, THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WAS NOT AWARE OF PROBLEMS WITH THE NISSAN OF THIS NATURE. THEY DID INDICATE THAT A COUPLE HAD BEEN IN RECENTLY FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. BECAUSE MY CAR WAS UNDER WARRANTY, IT WAS FREE REPAIRS, HOWEVER THE REPAIRS WERE NOT DONE IN A TIMELY MANNER SINCE THEY WERE NOT GOING TO BE GETTING ANY MONEY FROM ME. I'M A SINGLE MOM WITH TWO KIDS WHO RELIES ON THE SAFETY AND ACCESSIBILITY OF MY VEHICLE. TO BE DRIVING A CAR WITH THESE KIND OF PROBLEMS COULD HAVE BEEN TRAGIC. I PLACED A CALL DIRECTLY TO THE DEALERSHIP TO INFORM THEM OF THE SITUATION AND THEY RESPONDED QUITE QUICKLY - FOR WHICH I WAS GRATEFUL AS MY MONTH-OLD DAUGHTER WAS WITH ME IN THE CAR AND WITHOUT A/C IT WOULD HAVE GOTTEN QUITE WARM. MY COMPLAINT ISN'T WITH THE SERVICE I RECEIVED, BUT WITH THE FACT THAT I WAS NOT INFORMED OF THIS RECALL UNTIL AFTER THE PROBLEM OCCURRED WITH MY CAR. EVEN UPON BRINGING THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP, NO ONE INFORMED ME THAT THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE ALTERNATOR (I.E., THE RECALL) UNTIL AFTER THE REPAIR WORK HAD BEEN PERFORMED. BATTERY AND BRAKE LIGHTS CAME ON. I KNEW FROM READING POSTS ON A "MURANO" FORUM THAT THIS WAS A POSSIBLE SYMPTOM OF IMMINENT ALTERNATOR FAILURE. I WAS ONLY A MILE FROM HOME WHEN THE LIGHTS CAME ON, SO I WAS ABLE TO GET HOME SAFELY. I DO, HOWEVER, RESIDE OVER 20 MILES FROM THE NEAREST DEALER. IN ORDER TO GET IT TO THE DEALER FOR SERVICE, I DROVE MY OTHER CAR TO THE STORE AND PURCHASED A BATTERY TESTER/CHARGER. I KNEW FROM THE FORUM THAT I MAY BE ABLE TO DRIVE TO THE DEALER IN THIS STATE IF THE BATTERY HAD A FULL CHARGE. WHEN I TESTED IT, IT WAS ONLY OPERATING @ 60%. I CHARGED IT FULLY, THEN DROVE TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THE CAR CHECKED OUT. I MUST SAY THAT IT WAS NO FUN DRIVING TO THE DEALER (ON THE HIGHWAY) KNOWING THAT AT ANY TIME I COULD LOSE ALL POWER. I STAYED IN THE RIGHT HAND LANE ALL THE WAY SO THAT I COULD PULL OVER IN A HURRY IF NEEDED. TURNS OUT IT WAS THE ALTERNATOR. THE OLD PART IS NOT AVAILABLE. THEY TOLD ME THEY HAD TO INSTALL A REMANUFACTURED PART, AND SEND THE FAILED PART TO NISSAN. I DON'T EVEN HAVE 19,000 MILES ON THIS VEHICLE. THINGS LIKE THIS SHOULD NOT BE HAPPENING ON A $30,000 CAR! I FEEL LUCKY THAT I KNEW ABOUT THIS PROBLEM WITH MY CAR, AND WAS ON THE LOOK OUT FOR THE LIGHTS. IF I HAD BEEN UNAWARE, AS MOST ARE, THINGS COULD HAVE BEEN WORSE. I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY WHEN THE BATTERY AND BRAKE LIGHT CAME ON. I BARELY EXITED THE FREEWAY AND FOUND A GAS STATION BEFORE THE CAR DIED. THERE ARE 36,400 MILES ON MY CAR AND FOOTHILL NISSAN TOLD ME THAT THE WARRANTY COVERED ONLY UNTIL 36,000. THEY WON'T REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE ALTERNATOR SINCE I AM 400 MILES OVER THE WARRANTY LIMIT. THEN I REALIZED THAT I WASN'T THE ONLY ONE WHO WAS GOING THROUGH THIS. THERE ARE MANY OTHER COMPLAINTS OF THE EXACT THING THAT HAPPENED TO ME. I WAS LUCKY THAT I DIDN'T GET INTO AN ACCIDENT AND THERE WASN'T AS MUCH TRAFFIC AS THERE USUALLY IS ON THE FREEWAY THAT DAY AND I WAS ABLE TO HURRY OFF WITHOUT THE CAR STOPPING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FREEWAY.

I AGAIN HAD TO BE TOWED, AND THE ALTERNATOR WAS REPLACED AGAIN, BUT THIS TIME, MY BATTERY ALSO HAD TO BE REPLACED, WHICH WE HAD TO PAY HALF THE PRICE. THIS CAR IS ONLY 2 YEARS OLD AND HAS HAD 2 ALTERNATORS, AND NISSAN OF NORTH AMERICA SAYS THERE IS ' NO PROBLEM' WITH THIS CAR OR MODEL. I CONSIDER THIS TO BE A MAJOR SAFETY PROBLEM, IF SOMEONE HAD BEEN BEHIND ME, OR IF I COULD NOT HAVE STEERED OFF THE ROAD.
MY MOM WAS LEAVING THE GROCERY STORE AND THE CAR CUT OFF WHILE SHE WAS DRIVING OUT OF THE PARKING LOT. IT SLOWED DOWN BEFORE IT CUT OFF. WHILE WAITING FOR AAA SOMEONE OFFERED TO JUMP THE CAR. IT STARTED, BUT THE BRAKE AND LIGHTS CAME ON. SHE DROVE TO THE DEALERSHIP, ABOUT 3 MILES AWAY. THE CAR CUT OFF IN THE PARKING LOT. IT REMAINS AT THE DEALER, AWAITING REPAIR.

FORTUNATELY, SHE WAS ABLE TO COAST TO THE SHOULDER WITHOUT BEING REAR ENDED. THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED BACK TO OUR HOUSE. I DID SOME RESEARCH ON THE INTERNET AND CAME ACROSS A NISSAN MURANO FORUM WHICH HAD A DETAIL DESCIPTION OF THIS PARTICULAR PROBLEM. IF I HAD RECEIVED SOME TYPE ON NOTIFICATION ON THIS PROBLEM, I WOULD NOT HAVE PUT MY WIFE LIFE IN JEOPARDY BY ADVISING HER TO TAKE THE CAR HOME. 3) I WILL BE CONTACTING THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIRS.

WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK APPROXIMATELY 3.5 MILES ON JULY 22ND 2004, I NOTICED THE BRAKE AND BATTERY LAMPS WERE ILLUMINATED ON THE DASHBOARD OF MY 2003 NISSAN MURANO SE AWD MANUFACTURED IN MARCH 2003. AFTER CONTACTING UNIVERSITY DEALERSHIP IN LANSING, MI ON JULY 23RD 2004, I WAS INFORMED TO BRING IT IN RIGHT AWAY. I DROVE IT ABOUT 10 MILES THAT DAY WITHOUT A CHANGE IN BEHAVIOR FROM THE VEHICLE BUT THE LAMPS WERE STILL ON. LATER THAT DAY I WAS INFORMED IT WOULD NEED A NEW ALTERNATOR. I DID NOT HEAR ABOUT ANY PROGRESS UNTIL AUGUST 2ND 2004 WHICH IS 10 DAYS LATER. THE DEALERSHIP CLAIMED THE ALTERNATOR WAS ORDERED THE PREVIOUS FRIDAY (30 JULY) AND SHOULD BE IN "LATE TODAY OR TOMORROW". I RECEIVED NO UPDATE UNTIL 7 DAYS LATER (AUGUST 10TH) WHEN I CALLED THE DEALER AND WAS INFORMED THE ALTERNATOR HAD COME IN AND IT SHOULD BE DONE THE NEXT DAY. ON AUGUST 10TH, I WAS ALLOWED TO PICK UP THE REPAIRED VEHICLE. IN TOTAL I WAS WITHOUT THE VEHICLE FOR 18 CONSECUTIVE DAYS WHILE WAITING FOR A REPLACEMENT FOR A FAULTY ALTERNATOR WHICH ARE IN SHORT SUPPLY. I WAS STILL RESPONSIBLE FOR MAKING LOAN PAYMENTS DURING THE 18 DAYS I WAS NOT ABLE TO USE THE VEHICLE AND HAD TO ARRANGE ALTERNATE TRANSPORTATION TO WHERE I WORK. THE NATURE OF THE FAILURE COULD HAVE LEAD TO A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN AS THE ANTILOCK BRAKES WERE DISABLED, AND IF THE VEHICLE HAD LOST POWER (SOME DO, SOMETIMES DUE TO SIMULTANEOUS BATTERY FAILURE) CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE COULD HAVE BEEN LOST. IT IS ALSO AN IMPOSITION ON THE CUSTOMER TO HAVE TO WAIT AN EXTENDED PERIOD FOR REPLACEMENTS TO BE DELIVERED FOR COMMONLY FAULTY PARTS. THE ALTERNATOR FAILING IN THE MURANO IS NOT AN INFREQUENT OCCURRENCE, IT APPEARS TO HAPPEN IN A LARGE PERCENTAGE OF VEHICLES. NISSAN MURANO HAS DANGEROUS DESIGN DEFECTS COMPOUNDED BY UNRESOLVED ELECTRONICS PROBLEMS. DESIGN FLAWS: 1) INEFFECTIVE DEFROSTER SYSTEM , 2) LONG-ARMED WIPERS CLOG EASILY, 3) ALL DOORS MUST BE UNLOCKED TO GET GAS (INVITING CARJACKERS). THE DEFROSTER-WIPER PROBLEM WAS MADE WORSE BY ELECTRONICS. WHILE I WAS CLEARING WINDOWS THE CAR LOCKED IN 13 DEGREE WEATHER. *AK THE CAR: 1) LOCKS DOORS AT RANDOM INTERVALS , 2) PUTS THE WINDOWS DOWN WITHOUT WARNING (THE SERVICE MANAGER SAYS, "DON'T NOT LEAVE VALUABLES IN THIS CAR!"), 3) THE REMOTE ENTRY SYSTEM OFTEN DOES NOT BEEP REQUIRING THAT I CHECK ALL DOORS (ESPECIALLY GIVEN THE OTHER PROBLEMS WITH LOCKS), 4) NOW THE CAR SOMETIMES TELLS ME THAT THE DRIVER'S DOOR IS OPEN (WHEN IT IS NOT). THE CAR IS VIRTUALLY NEW (LESS THAN 6,000 MILES). NISSAN KNOWS THEY HAVE THIS PROBLEM. THERE IS AN INTERNAL SERVICE MEMO IT. BUT WHEN CONSUMERS COMPLAIN THEY ARE "STONE-WALLED" WITH, "WE COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM." LAST FRIDAY MY CARACTED UP AT THE DEALERSHIP. THE SERVICE MANAGER ACKNOWLEDGED IN WRITING ON NISSAN LETTERHEAD. THIS PROBLEM EXISTS AND IT IS IN A NUMBER OF MODELS -- MAXIMA, ALTIMA, TITAN TRUCKS, AND MURANOS. NISSAN SHOULDRECALL ALL OF THE AFFECTED VEHICLES, PROVIDE RENTAL CARS WHILE REPAIRS ARE MADE, AND TO ISSUE CREDIT VOUCHERS FOR ALL OF THE PAST AGGRAVATION THEY CAUSED BY THEIR FAILING TO PROVIDE GOOD-FAITH SOLUTIONS TO THE PROBLEMS THEY KNOW EXIST.

HAPPENED 3-MORE TIMES UNTIL MANUFACTURER FINALLY AUTHORIZED COMPLETE REPLACEMENT OF SENSOR TERMINAL CONNECTORS.IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP OVER 5-TOTAL WEEKS UP TILL NOW INCLUDING ALL 4 ATTEMPTS TO FIX. THEY ASSURED THAT THIS WOULD FIX THE PROBLEM. HOWEVER IT HAPPENED AGAIN ON 3/11/04. WE HAVE GIVEN THE MANUFACTURER ITS FINAL OPPORTUNITY BEFORE PROCEEDING WITH OUR LEMON LAW RIGHTS, THEY SIMPLY REACTED BY TRYING TO FIND A LOOPHOLE IN THE PROCESS, SO WE ARE NOW PROCEEDING WITH LEGAL ACTION AGAINST NISSAN NOW ON OUR 5TH TIME OF THIS OCCURENCE.*AK

3 TIMES MY MURANO HAS STALLED WHILE DRIVING AND WOULD NOT RESTART. ALL 3 TIMES IT HAS TO BE TOWED (OVER A 2 MONTH PERIOD APPROX. 4K MILES NOW, STARTED AT JUST OVER UNDER 3K). THE FIRST 2 TIMES, THE ENGINE WOULD AT LEAST TURN, BUT NOT START. THE LAST TIME IT WOULD NOT EVEN TURN. IT SEEMS TO BE TEMPORARY BECAUSE WHEN THE DEALER LOOSK AT THE NEXT DAY, IT STARTS AND THEY SAY THEY CAN'T FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH IT.

I JUST BOUGHT A 2003 NISSAN MURANO, RECENTLY I HAVE HAD A FEW PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR. FIRST PROBLEM, AFTER DRIVING ABOUT 30 MILES AND THEN SHUTTING THE ENGINE OFF AND THEN TURNING ON THE ALARM. AFTER ABOUT TEN MINUTES I WOULD DISABLE THE ALARM AND START THE CAR. THE CAR WILL NOT START IT DOESN'T EVEN TURNOVER. THIS HAS HAPPENED TWICE ONCE WHEN MY WIFE WAS DRIVING IT AND WHEN I WAS DRIVING IT. LUCKILY IT HAPPENED TO START FOR MY WIFE AFTER SEVERAL TRIES. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS DEFECT?
