PASSENGER AIR BAG SENSOR. This is blinking on my dash. I looked it up in the manual. It stated that the airbag may not deploy in an accident. I also got a recall notice for this same problem and called the dealer. They said that my vin was not included in the recall even though I had the same make, model and year and the same problem. I had a problem with this when the vehicle was new, they fixed it. They wanted two hundred dollars to look at it. Why is this safety problem in my vehicle not included?
Please recall electrical system, started out the doors not locking and trunk wont open then inside lights would not come on. I put my steering wheel down lower and when I did the car would not start. The inside lights come on when the car wont start then when I move steering wheel back up the lights go back off and the car will start again. The all wheel drive lock button will not work and the all wheel drive kicks in and out on it's own while driving the vehicle. While my children and I were on our way to town the vehicle started to lose power and the steering wheel was hard to handle then the all wheel drive locked in and out and then power was back. It was scary and it almost caused me to crash and people to crash into me from sudden speed reduction. The mechanics I take my vehicles to told me I'll have to take it to a Nissan dealership to get the electrical system taken care of or replaced.
NISSAN MURANO 2007: FAULTY FUEL LEVEL SENSOR, FUEL GAUGE DOES NOT REGISTER AVCURATE LEVEL OF FUEL IN TANK, SAFETY CONCERN IS NOT BEING ABLE TO KNOW HOW MUCH GAS IS IN THE CAR WHICH CAN LEAD TO BREAKING DOWN ANYWHERE WITHOUT ANY WARNING. ENGINE LIGHT ON (SERVICE ENGINE SOON WARNING LIGHT), INCORRECT FUEL LEVEL READING. POWER STEERING FLUID CONSTANTLY NEEDING TO BE FILLED WHICH CONSTANTLY MAKES UNDER THE HOOD SMOKE WHENEVER DRIVEN. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic on several occasions where it was diagnosed that the alternator needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. I see the air bag light on and won't turn off for about almost a week and a half after i Purchase it a week later this year and it lightly shakes when I put on drive ,don't know if that will be another issue . Hopefully I can have your company gide me in the right direction to solve this problem .
Hello, i would like to report a problem. Didnt really see anything about transmission on the choices listed above. Well i got this car used from someone. Didnt really noticed the transmission problem until i was driving it for a while on the freeway. The transmission is just so bad . It is stuck on 3rd gear all the way. At high speeds. So imagine, the engine is whining so bad. The car basically wants to give up now. Still starts, revers, goes foward with no problem. Shifting is the problem. Also, ive checked the transmission fluid. Its still at a perfect level. Yes, it has roughly 129,000 miles on it. But really? This car should be lasting longer. Please. I really dont want to pay out of pocket for a whole new transmission. Theres got to be a way or something you guys could do to help me and my family.

WHILE OPERATING MY VEHICLE ON 6/27/2020 AFTER 1HR OF DRIVING THE CAR STEERING WHEEL WOULD NOT TURN ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. I HAD TO STOP THE CAR PUT IN IT PARK, TURN THE CAR OFF AND THEN BACK ON. WHEN I TRIED TO TURN THE CAR ON AND IT HESITATED THEN TURN OVER. I THEN PROCEEDED TO TURN THE CORNER AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. THIS IS THE 2ND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED AND WHEN I TOOK CAR TO CAR SHOP. THE CODE WAS P0340, CAM SHAFT POSITION. I REPLACE THE CAM SHAFT AFTER THIS HAPPENED THE FIRST TIME. NOW THIS HAS HAPPENED AGAIN, ALMOST CAUSING ME TO HAVE AN ACCIDENT.

ALL THE LIGHTS COME ON BY THEMSELVES (INTERIOR LIGHTS/EXTERIOR LIGHTS/HEADLAMPS) AND THE ONLY WAY TO SHUT THEM OFF IS TO REMOVE THE BATTERY TERMINALS FROM THEIR POSTS. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES AND THE CAR IS PARKED AND THE ENGINE IS OFF. THERE IS A HIGH-PITCHED RINGING SOUND WHENEVER THE FRONT DRIVERS DOOR IS UNLOCKED. WHILE I'M DRIVING AND THE FOB IS IN MY POCKET, AN ALARM BEGINS TO SOUND AND ALERTS THAT THE KEY-FOB IS NOT INSIDE THE VEHICLE; I MUST STOP, SHUT OFF THE ENGINE, REMOVE THE ACTUAL KEY FROM THE FOB AND INSERT IT INTO THE IGNITION AND RESTART THE VEHICLE (BATTERY IN THE KEY-FOB HAS BEEN CHANGED SEVERAL TIMES AND THE PROBLEM STILL EXISTS). THE VEHICLE BATTERY HAS ALSO BEEN REPLACED.

MY FAMILY HAS OWNED A 2007 NISSAN MURANO FOR NEARLY 8 YEARS. IN THE LAST YEAR, MY WIFE HAS EXPERIENCED EXTREME TRAUMA AS SHE HAS HAD THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY DIE ON HER WHILE IN THE MIDDLE OF FREEWAYS, HIGHWAYS, AND RESIDENTIAL ROADS. WE HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE TAKEN IN AND INSPECTED BY MULTIPLE NISSAN DEALERSHIPS AND EACH VISIT HAS ONLY RESULTED IN THEIR RECOMMENDATION OF ROUTINE MAINTENANCE BEING SUGGESTED, SUCH AS TRANSMISSION FLUID EXCHANGE, BRAKE REPAIR, OR BATTERY REPLACEMENT. OUR MURANO HAS RECENTLY DECIDED TO REPEAT THESE SAME ISSUES AFTER OVER A YEAR OF NORMAL FUNCTION. MY WIFE WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE NORMALLY AND ALL OF A SUDDEN SHE BEGAN TO LOSE POWER UNTIL THE CAR CAME TO A STOP AND THE FUNCTION OF THE VEHICLE STOPPED DUE TO WHAT APPEARED TO BE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM. AFTER ASSESSING THE ISSUE, I ATTEMPTED TO JUMP START THE VEHICLE WITH JUMPER CABLES, WHICH ALLOWED THE MURANO TO START, BUT ONCE IT WAS INDEPENDENTLY IDLING, IT WOULD AGAIN LOSE POWER AFTER AN ATTEMPT TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE. I AM HEAVILY CONCERNED FOR THE WELFARE OF MY WIFE AND DAUGHTER AS THEY DRIVE THIS CAR DAILY. THE NISSAN DEALERSHIPS THAT I TYPICALLY RELY ON FOR THESE CRITICAL REPAIRS HAVE BEEN NO HELP AND I AM AT A LOSS FOR WHY THIS HAS HAPPENED WITH SUCH A LONG TIME FRAME BETWEEN ISSUES. I HOPE THAT NISSAN WILL ISSUE A RECALL ON THIS PROBLEM AND RECTIFY ANY PRIOR REPAIRS THAT HAVE BEEN SUGGESTED AS A RESOLUTION TO THE ISSUE THAT MAY VERY WELL HAVE NOT RESOLVED THE TRUE ISSUE AT HAND. I AM IN DIRE NEED OF ANSWERS AS TO WHY A WELL MAINTAINED VEHICLE WOULD BE FINE ONE MINUTE AND THEN COMPLETELY INOPERABLE THE NEXT. THE VEHICLE HAS HAD MANY COMPONENTS REPLACED AND MAINTAINED TO PROLONG THE LIFE OF THE VEHICLE AND WITH 180K MILES HAS THE POTENTIAL TO CONTINUE FOR MANY MORE. TRAVELING EAST ON HIGHWAY 287 THROUGH TOWN MY CAR LOST ALL POWER SO I COASTED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD IN THE MIDDLE OF HEAVY TRAFFIC. THE NEXT DAY I WENT TO GO PICK UP MY CAR ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD HAVING SOMEBODY GIVE ME A JUMP AND THEN IT WOULDN'T START AT ALL. SO THEN I WENT AND GOT A NEW BATTERY AND IT RAN FOR AS LONG AS IT TOOK TO RUN THAT BATTERY DOWN. I REPLACED ALTERNATOR A YEAR AGO WHEN I WAS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM. I'M STUCK I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO. DOES ANYBODY HAVE A SOLUTION?

I HAD A WARRANTY THRU AUTOZONE ON THE PARTS SO THE PART WAS REPLACED BUT I HAD TO COVER THE LABOR COST. 2 MONTHS LATER THE ALTENATOR REPLACE IT AGAIN BUT I WANTED LABOR COST COVERERD THIS TIME. THEY AGREED TO COVER THE PART AND LABOR. THERE MUST BE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS. I VE READ OTHER OWNERS OF THE SAME CAR HAVING THE SAME ISSUE. IF NISSAN DOESN'T FIX THIS FOR FREE, I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER OF THEIR CARS BECAUSE I CAN'T BELIEVE MULTIPLE TIMES. I HAD TWO DIFFERENT MECHANIC SO IT NOT THE PERSON, IT'S THE CAR, I BELIEVE SO. THE OTHER PROBLEM I'VE HAD IT THAT THE AIR DUCK INTAKE HOSE KEEPS DISCONNECTING, IT WILL CAUSE MY CAR TO MISS FILE AND RUN VERY RUFF, LIKE POOR PERFORMANCE. MY VEHICLE IS IN THE MECHANIC SHOP RIGHT NOW AND MY MECHANIC TOLD ME THE ALTERNATOR IS GOING BAD. I WILL BE REPLACING THE ALTERNATOR.

THE REPAIR IS ABOUT $600 PER LOCK. THERE IS NO KEY HOLE TO USE TO GAIN ACCESS FROM THE OUTSIDE. THE ONLY KEY ACCESS IS THE DRIVER'S DOOR. THIS CREATES A SAFETY PROBLEM, ESPECIALLY FOR TRUNK ACCESS BY ELDERLY FOLK, WHO HAVE TO CLIMB INTO THE TRUNK AREA TO OPEN THE TRUNK.

THE CAR WOULD NOT START AFTER THIS STOP. I PUSHED THE CAR INTO A NEARBY PARKING LOT AND TOOK THE BATTERY INTO A LOCAL HARDWARE STORE. THE BATTERY WAS DEAD AND NEEDED TO BE CHARGED. I RE INSTALLED THE BATTERY AND GOT THE CAR STARTED (THE ENGINE SOUNDED LOUD) AND DROVE TO THE AUTO STORE AND HAD THE ALTERNATOR TESTED - IT WAS DEAD. I STARTED TO DRIVE THE CAR HOME AND IT WOULD NOT GO ABOVE 30 MPH AND THE CEL WAS ON. THE NEXT MORNING I HAD THE ALTERNATOR REPLACED (SUNDAY), THE BATTERY KEPT IT'S CHARGE. I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE NISSAN DEALER ON MONDAY MORNING - THEY DETERMINED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. I GOT MY CAR BACK AFTER 2 WEEKS AND DROVE IT HOME. I DID NOTICE THAT THE THERE WAS A SLIGHT WHINE - I THOUGHT IT WAS WITH THE REPLACED TRANSMISSION. I GOT LOUDER EACH DAYAND I TOOK IT BACK TO THE NISSAN DEALER, BUT THE NOISE WOULD QUIT AFTER IT WARMED UP. THE NISSAN DEALER DETERMINED THAT IT WAS THE HIGH PRESSURE POWER STEERING HOSE. WHEN THE OPEN BUTTON IS PUSHED (EITHER FROM INSIDE THE CAR OR ON THE KEY FOB) THERE IS NO SOUND INDICATING THAT THE REAR HATCH IS BEING CONTACTED AT ALL. WE HAVE TRIED REPLACING THE FUSE AND A CONTROL MODULE BUT NEITHER OF THOSE HAVE CORRECTED THE ISSUE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST. THE TECHNICIANS STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT CONTINUED TO ILLUMINATE AFTER THE REPAIR. THERE WAS A RECALL UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 08V521000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM: SOFTWARE), THAT MAY BE RELATED TO THE FAILURE. THE BATTERY HAS BEEN REPLACED TWICE IN THE VEHICLE AND IT HAS LESS THAN 35,000 MILES ON IT. THE FIRST REPLACEMENT WAS DONE WHEN THE CAR WAS ONLY ABOUT 6 MONTHS OLD AND I JUST RECENTLY HAD TO HAVE THE BATTERY REPLACED AGAIN. THE SECOND BATTERY WAS SUPPOSED TO BE AN 84,000 MILE BATTERY AND WAS UNDER WARRANTY. HOWEVER, WHEN I WAS DRIVING IT, THE CAR DIED ON ME AND WOULD NOT START AGAIN. THE BATTERY HAD LESS THAN 26,000 MILES ON IT. NISSAN FOUGHT US ON THE REPLACEMENT EVEN THOUGH IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY, BUT WE FINALLY GOT ANOTHER ONE PUT IN. WE ARE ON OUR 3RD BATTERY IN LESS THAN 3 YEARS. THIS SAME VEHICLE HAD AN ENGINE MOUNT CRACK AT 32,000 MILES AND HAS ALSO HAD THE RADIATOR REPLACED AT 34,000 MILES. IT HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 4 TIMES NOW IN THE LAST 2 1/2 MONTHS. WHEN THE RADIATOR WENT OUT, THE GAUGES DID NOT EVEN SAY THAT THE CAR WAS RUNNING HOT. I DISCOVERED THE ISSUE WHEN MY CAR STARTED SMOKING EVERYWHERE AND COOLANT WAS ALL OVER MY VEHICLE. NISSAN INSISTS THAT IT IS NOT AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE OF ANY KIND AND THAT THE GAUGE CAN STILL READ COOL IF THE RADIATOR GOES OUT AND THE CAR IS SMOKING. WHEN MOST OF THE BATTERIES IN THE US PROVIDE AT LEAST 36 MONTHS OF WARRANTY, NISSAN MADE ITS OWN POLICY TO COVER 100% ONLY FOR 1ST 12 MONTHS, AND THEN START PRORATED CHARGES. THEY CONCEAL THE DEFECT DURING A SALE/LEASE, BUT IT'S VERY COMMON. I HAD TO PAY $75 IN ORDER TO REPLACE THE BATTERY THAT IS ONLY 24 MONTHS OLD. THEY REPLACED WITH ANOTHER DEFECTIVE NISSAN BATTERY, AND REFUSED TO REPLACE WITH A REPUTABLE BATTERY SUCH AS INTERSTATE. I STAYED AT THE DEALERSHIP FOR ABOUT AN HOUR AND SAW FOUR SIMILAR SUVS CAME IN, ALL WITH THE SAME COMPLAIN. I SPOKE TO SOME NISSAN OWNERS AND THEY ALL AGREED THAT THEIR BATTERIES WENT DOWN JUST AFTER 12 MONTHS. NISSAN USED TO OFFER 36 MONTHS WARRANTY TILL 2005, AND THEN STARTED TO REDUCE THE WARRANTY, AND NOW IT IS ONLY FOR 12 MONTHS. THEY SHOULD REFUND MY PAYMENT AS WELL AS TO OTHER OWNERS WHO WERE FORCED TO REPLACE THE BATTERY WITHIN 36 MONTHS AS THE COMPANY CLAIMS BUMPER TO BUMPER COVERAGE FOR THIS PERIOD. THEN THEY SHOULD REPLACE WITH A REPUTABLE BATTERY SUCH AS INTERSTATE UNTIL THEY FIX THE PROBLEM OF THEIR BATTERY. *TR
