The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that while driving at 5 MPH, the vehicle shuddered, and the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle intermittently returned to normal functionality. The contact checked the transmission fluid and noticed the fluid was burnt and emitted a foul odor. The contact found metal shavings inside the transmission fluid pan. The contact who is a mechanic used a Thinkcar Scanner and retrieved DTC: P17F1. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure had progressively worsened, and the vehicle was no longer driven and remained parked at the residence. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 69,000.

Error P17F1 Judder Code. This is a known issue and my VIN is not covered under a recall when this is a known issue due to the ongoing CVT transmission lawsuit.
Loss power i ,studding had a overheating in transmissonsounds whinning , bumps, locking up hesatation sudden lurching at home in driveway.
When trying to merge onto the interstate, the car didn't accelerate, causing other vehicles on the road to swerve around me. Afterwards, I noticed that the car was shaking or juddering at low revs (about 1,000 RPM). I internet searched for possible causes and found that this shaking was caused by a known problem with the CVT on my car (Nissan Murano). I bought the car (a 2015 Nissan Murano AWD SL) in 2018 as a certified pre-owned vehicle only used by that Nissan dealership, it now has 63,841 miles on it. I needed the vehicle so I had the transmission replaced (I was told that 'fixing' the problem was not an option), at a cost of $7,157.19. There was no warning, no lights on the dash, etc. I had also just had the car serviced at the dealership (on 8/3/24, which cost me $2,618.55) where they replaced the CVT fluid as part of the service. I'm just lucky that the transmission didn't fail while I was actually going at a higher speed. Nissan needs to recall and/or replace these transmissions.
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle jerked and hesitated, after which the vehicle lost motive power. The driver was able to pull over to the shoulder of the roadway, where the vehicle was able to restart but was unable to shift into drive or reverse. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that the CVT transmission fluid needed to be flushed. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 204,000.

While trying to accelerate and merge onto the highway, the transmission began to increase in RPMs but would not accelerate. There are no warning light or anythign that would inform us of a failure. This almost caused an accident because I could not get up to speed. Then the transmission began juddering at low speeds and has continued. This is a sign the transmission is failing according to Nissan. Upon research, there are many complaints out there about the transmission in the Nissans. There was a class action suit that required Nissan to extend the warranty of their drivetrain. For some reason, the Murano was excluded from this list even though it shares the same issues and the same transmission as the Pathfinder, which was recalled/warranty extended. These vehicles are a timebomb when they will fail and could cause multiple accidents. They knowly have an issue that they wont fix that could take someone life
I bought a Murano on 3/31/2016 with 17,000 miles on it. I now have 58,000 miles on it & dealership says I need a new transmission.I had no idea that there was a CVT transmission when i bought it. It was never explained or disclosed about the class action lawsuit with these transmissions. I understand these defective transmissions can cause the driver to lose control of the vehicles when it stuttering & jerking at low speeds. My car has been doing this at about 20,000 miles. I have had every recommended service done on the car, including the 30,000 miles transmission maintenance. There have been 2 Disturbance Alerts with 2 issues that come up on a app on my phone stating 2 Issues Critical. 1. Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected/Code P0302 & 2.Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected/Code P0300. I told the dealership about these issues but they could never find anything wrong with the car.
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Murano. The contact stated that while parking the vehicle, she noticed an abnormal burning odor. The contact stated that the odor persisted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that coolant was leaking externally from the head gasket bank #1 and bank #2, and was entering the combustion chamber, causing damage to the engine and the CVT transmission. The dealer determined that the engine and the CVT transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that a partial cost of the repair would be covered. The failure mileage was approximately 50,300.

Car began shaking on acceleration and low speeds and wouldn't stop shaking until approx 40mph or above. Upon braking to take a right hand turn car died, just stopped accelerating even though all lights on and running. No response at all when pushing pedal to the floor. Would go in reverse but only very low speed. Replaced alternator. Seemed ok but 4 months later same exact problem happened and car is not drivable again.
I bought this Nissan Murano after the owner of Suncoast Quality Cars gives me the NADA - Consumers Report, which states the car was scored as an 82, in "Good Condition" with major repairs needed. After picking the Murano up 1-week after I made the purchase, when driven more than a couple of miles, you could feel the transmission slipping. While the owner of Suncoast said that his mechanic had done a full diagnostic test and had confirmed NADA's scoring, just to make sure I took it to Courtesy Nissan of Tampa and paid for their Certified Nissan Mechanics to do a full diagnostic test. Courtesy Nissan's Diagnostic test revealed that the transmission would need to be replaced, which while I did purchase a used car warranty from Suncoast, the car has been out of commission since roughly a week after receiving delivery from Suncoast. When I contacted [XXX] (Owner) by email on 4-separate occasions, from 2-separate email addresses, and text, he states he never received them. Given the owner's approach, and refusing to own up to his lies, or take any kind of responsibility here, I would like a full refund, as I would have never purchased the car, if I knew it had a major safety issue and would have to have the transmission replaced immediately after delivery, and I most certainly wouldn't have paid the price of a car that NADA stated was in "Good Condition", as the cost of the transmission is actually 65% of the price I paid for the car. With the transmission needing to be replaced, the same measuring tool (NADA) that Suncoast used to sell me the car, actually states the car is worth thousands-less. Attached, you will also find a copy of the results from the Certified Nissan Mechanic at Courtesy Nissan of Tampa. Warm regards, [XXX] [XXX] [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
Nissan's CVT transmission dies on highway at ODO=72K miles, a well known issue similar to other Nissan's models. I had to replaced the CVT transmission at $6K. Nissan should at least gives clear instruction that CVT transmission oil to be replaced at 30K mile in the owner manual. At least two Nissan's models had recalls due to the same CVT transmission failure. Why not include other models with the same issues to protect the consumers?
I took my vehicle to jack Ingram nissan on 1/26/2023 because the car started, jerking, stalling, shuddering, hesitating, and premature transmission failure. They told me at Jack Ingram nissan that my CVT transmission was bad. I just had the CVT transmission flushed in May 2022 and nothing was wrong wit my transmission then. My vehicle only has 90,200 miles on it so nothing should be wrong with the transmission. It has been reported that several complaints about the CVT Transmission in Nissan Muranos and several other nissan models go bad when the car does not have 100,000+ miles on them. Nissan dealers ships refuses to take the necessary steps and make the necessary repairs for this ongoing problem with there CVT Transmissions.
The transfer case need to be replaced. I took my vehicle to the dealer a few months ago and they told me I had a leak but didn't know where it was coming from. I took it back to the dealer yesterday 12/16/22 and they told me where the leak is coming from. The cvt fluid is leaking from the lh axle seal. Murano owners have been complaining about this same issue. The dealership is charging me $712.59 for an issue that I didn't cause. The dealership need to fix this for free because this issued happened during the making of the vehicle and shouldn't fall on the buyer.
The transmission started going out going around a corner passing a semi on a canyon road. There are thousands of reports of transmission issues with this year and model. Brakes shake and act like they will not engage.
Light smoke coming from the exhaust became more over a couple days. Had to replace head gaskets.!!!$$$$ and sensors. Its a 2015 with 65k miles. I've noticed this is a problem with nissan Suv's lately which is sad. A friend of mine has a 2019 pathfinder and the same thing is happening to hers! I know things happen but this was a huge repair! And who has money for that.
The contact owns a 2015 Nissan Murano. The contact stated while driving approximately 70 MPH, the vehicle inadvertently started stalling. The contact also stated she parked the vehicle momentarily and then started driving approximately 15 MPH, and the vehicle inadvertently stopped. The contact was unable to shift the vehicle to neutral(N). The contact and a friend were able to shift the vehicle to the drive(D). There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle was towed back to the residence. The contact was notified by an independent mechanic of a power train Bulletin; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 62,000. The contact stated that the issue occurred again in June. The vehicle was taken to a Nissan dealership to be diagnosed and the mechanic was unable to repeat the issue. The vehicle was also taken to Cochran West Hills for a service appointment. The alternator was replaced but the issue still occurred.

Transmission code P171F1 CVT Judder (C/V Inspection) at 93,000 miles. Took it to the dealership due to rough idling when stopped at stoplights. Nissan is recommending a full transmission replacement at a cost of over 6K. This code does not cause the check engine light to come on and unknowlingly could leave someone stranded in the middle of traffic. This car has never missed a scheduled service and has been meticulously cared for over the years and should not have this type of problem at this mileage.
The CVT translation is slipping and jerking at 1000 rpms. I took it Nissan and even though they increased the warranty on their cvt transmission, this one they do not want to cover, and don’t say why.
CVT transmission suddenly began sputtering on acceleration from a stop, which put me at risk of causing a collision, since it was not reliable to pull out into traffic. The dealership confirmed that the CVT transmission needed replaced (which it was at my expense). The problem first appeared in 11/2021 (got it fixed in 12/21) and no warning lights came on.
CVT transmission would struggle at low speeds, it would feel like it was jumping or getting caught on something. No check engine light or other error codes would display. Dealership insisted nothing was wrong. After 3rd check in 6 years, they finally got an error code and determined we needed a replacement.
Here is my experience: I purchased a 2015 Nissan Murano new in July 2015. My CVT transmission failed and was replaced under warranty by Nissan in June 2019 at 52,000 miles. Today 11-29-21, at 62,100 miles, my transmission failed again due to the transmission oil/cooler/radiator assembly failing to cause the cooling fluid and the transmission fluid to mix, resulting in having to replace the Transmission, Radiator, and associated assemblies for $6,600!
On several occasions while the car is being driven, the transmission goes into neutral by itself and stops responding to the throttle without any warning. This puts drivers at serious risk since the car while following its inertial movement must move to the side of the road or it could stop in the middle of the lane. According to the car's maintenance record, the transmission was replaced in 2017 however it failed again in 2021. The car was taken to the dealer for diagnosis and his recommendation was to repair the transmission at my own cost of $ 4000.
My check engine light came on. We hooked a snap on scanner to it. It said code P17F1. There is a recall but not when I enter my vin number.
TOOK VEHICLE TO NISSAN DEALER FOR REGULAR OIL CHANGE (SERVICE LIGHT ON). VEHICLE HAD HAD A COUPLE OF HESITATIONS SOMEWHAT LIKE HAVING WATER IN THE GAS. THIS HAPPEN WHEN AFTER STOPPING AND THEN TAKING OFF THE HESITATION OCCURRED. NISSAN CHECKED AND THE TRANSMISSION HAS TO BE REPLACED-ONLY 46,000 MILES ON CAR? I DO HAVE AN EXTENDED WARRANTY, THAT I PURCHASED WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR. IF NISSAN IS HAVING THIS PROBLEM WITH THESE TRANSMISSIONS, THEY SHOULD BE AUTOMATICALLY REPLACING THEM. THE VEHICLE IS CURRENTLY AT NISSAN DEALER WAITING FOR THE NEW TRANSMISSION.

AT ABOUT 47,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE, WAS DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 70 MPH AND VEHICLE BEGAN TO JUDDER VIOLENTLY SHAKING REAR OF VEHICLE CAUSING DIFFICULTY TO CONTROL VEHICLE.
Mileage: 47,500
CAR WILL HARD START, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON. DRIVE FINE BUT AFTER STOPPING OR SLOWING DOWN, TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT COMES ON AND RPMS WILL NOT GO OVER 3000. CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE AND HAVE TO PULL OVER, TURN OFF AND RESTART.

PURCHASED THE 2015 MURANO WITH 2200 MILES FROM OLYMPIA NISSAN IN OLYMPIA, WA. DID NOT GET THE EXTRA WARRANTY BECAUSE WE TRUSTED NISSAN AND THE CAR WAS BASICALLY NEW. ABOUT TWO YEARS AFTER PURCHASING IT, WE COULD FEEL A SLIGHT HESITATION WHEN ACCELERATING FROM LOW TO HIGHER SPEEDS. IT HAPPENED MORE WHEN DRIVING ON CITY STREETS BUT ALSO HAPPENED PERIODICALLY ON THE FREEWAY. MY HUSBAND THOUGHT IT MIGHT BE THE GAS HE WAS USING. THE MISSING CONTINUED AND GOT PROGRESSIVELY WORSE. HE TOOK HIS CAR IN TO NISSAN FOR ALL HIS OIL CHANGES AND EVERYTHING ELSE THAT THEY SUGGESTED. HE MENTIONED THE PROBLEM BUT THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING. THIS WAS BROUGHT UP DURING THE WARRANTY PERIOD. I STARTED DRIVING THE CAR RECENTLY AFTER MY HUSBAND PASSED AWAY AND IT WAS QUITE OBVIOUS THAT THE PROBLEM HAD GOTTEN MUCH WORSE. I TOOK IT TO GOODYEAR AND HAD THE EJECTORS CLEANED AND SPARK PLUGS REPLACED BUT THIS DID NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM. GOODYEAR OFFERED TO TAKE IT TO NISSAN TO BE CHECKED ON THEIR COMPUTER. THEY DETERMINED I NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION. THIS CAR IS FIVE YEARS OLD WITH 75,000 MILES! AFTER RESEARCHING THE ISSUE, I FOUND THAT THIS HAS BEEN AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH NISSAN'S CVT TRANSMISSION. I AM ANGRY AND FRUSTRATED. I HAVE A CAR I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE. I BELIEVE THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN FIXED THROUGH A RECALL OR AN EXTENSION OF THE ORIGINAL WARRANTY. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO MANY PEOPLE. IT'S TIME FOR THE ISSUE TO BE RESOLVED. MY HUSBAND TOOK THE CAR TO NISSAN FAITHFULLY FOR OIL CHANGES AND ANYTHING ELSE THAT CAME UP. THEY NEVER ONCE MENTIONED A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION.

THERE IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH THE TRANSFER CASES OF THESE CARS (SEE SERVICE BULLETIN NTB17-003). THE AXLE SEALS ON MY CAR ARE LEAKING AND CAN CAUSE DANGEROUS RESULTS FOR ANYONE OPERATING THE CAR. NISSAN NEEDS TO RECALL AND FIX THIS KNOWN ISSUE IMMEDIATELY. *TR

MULTIPLE TRANSMISSION ISSUES. STUTTERING AND JERKING AT LOW SPEED, ESPECIALLY ON A SLIGHT GRADE GOING UP. LOSS OF POWER FROM A STOP. SLIPPING WHEN GOING INTO GEAR THEN JERKING. SHIFT POINTS APPEAR TO BE ERRATIC. PROBABLY CAME ON SLOWLY BUT ONLY GOT TO A DANGEROUS OR PROBLEMATIC POINT NEAR THE END OF THE WARRANTY PERIOD. NOTICED IT BADLY WHEN ATTEMPTING TO PULL OUT INTO TRAFFIC AND ALMOST GOT SIDE SWIPED.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 NISSAN MURANO. WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE DETECTED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS ALSO AN ABNORMAL SHUDDERING WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS STARTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO VAN HORN NISSAN OF SHEBOYGAN LOCATED AT 5515 RACETRACK RD, SHEBOYGAN, WI 53081, PHONE NUMBER; (920) 310-6816 TO BE DIAGNOSED HOWEVER, THE PROGNOSIS WAS UNKNOWN . THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 39,000.

CAR HESITATES WHEN ACCELERATING CAUSING A DANGER WHEN CAR DOES NOT GO AS EXPECTED WHEN PULLING INTO TRAFFIC. IT ALSO JERKS AND SHUDDERS AT LOWER SPEEDS, THE CAR SHAKES SOMEWHAT VIOLENTLY AND WILL STOP IF YOU FLOOR THE GAS PEDAL. BOUGHT THE CAR BRAND NEW FROM DEALER AND HAVE BROUGHT IN FOR THE ISSUE TO BE TOLD THE COMPUTER DOESN'T SEE A PROBLEM. I DRIVE THE CAR DAILY I KNOW THERE IS AN ISSUE AND IT IS DANGEROUS TO DRIVE WHEN IT CHOOSES NOT TO GO WHEN ACCELERATING. IT HAS BEEN A PROBLEM SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR AND HAVE COMPLAINED TO THE DEALERSHIP NUMEROUS TIMES.
Mileage: 3,000
THE CAR WAS BUCKING AT LOW SPEEDS (10-20 MPH) AND HAD A VIBRATION AT HIGH SPEEDS (70+). THE DEALERSHIP REPORTED THAT THE DIAGNOSTIC CODE WAS P17F0 AND THEY NEEDED TO REPLACE THE CVT SUBASSEMBLY AND THE RPL AUTOMATIC CVT TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY AND REPROGRAM THE A/T CONTROL UNIT.WHILE DOING THAT THEY DISCOVERED THEY NEEDED TO REPLACE THE FRONT AND REAR SEALS ON THE LEAKING TRANSFER CASE. THIS IS VERY SIMILAR TO A RECALL AFFECTING THE CVT ON OTHER NISSAN VEHICLES, BUT THAT RECALL DID NOT COVER THIS VEHICLE.
Mileage: 63,500
WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP OR AT LOW SPEED, TRANSMISSION JUDDERS AND CAUSES THE CAR TO LUNGE AND VIBRATE TILL IT GETS TO A HIGHER RPM. AT A CERTAIN RPM, THE CAR CAN SIMPLE LUG REPEATEDLY IF THE SPEED IS HELD CONSTANT. THE CAR STORES AN ERROR CODE AND THE FIX PER THE DEALER IS TO REBUILD THE TRANSMISSION. MY VEHICLE HAS THIS ISSUE AT ONLY 39,200 MILES. WHILE NISSAN CREATED A SERVICE BULLETIN FOR THIS ISSUE, AND WAS REPAIRED UNDER WARRANTY, A REPAIR THIS MAJOR SHOULD BE A RECALL BECAUSE OF HOW EXPENSIVE IT WOULD BE TO REPAIR OUT OF WARRANTY. BASED ON THE REPAIR ORDER I WAS PROVIDED, THIS WOULD'VE COST OVER $1,600 FOR PARTS ALONE, AND THE DEALER NEEDED TO KEEP THE CAR FOR A FULL WEEK. MULTIPLE ANECDOTAL REPORTS OF THIS ISSUE CAN BE FOUND AT HTTPS://WWW.NISSANMURANO.ORG/THREADS/ENGINE-CVT-HORRIBLE-SKIPPING-AND-LUNGING.186778/

CVT TRANSMISSION IS A CLASSIC NISSAN FAILURE. I HAVE TAKEN THE CAR MULTIPLE TIMES TO MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALER. 1ST TIME, THEY REPLACED A FAULTY VALVE BODY, 2ND TIME THEY REPROGRAMMED THE SOFTWARE, 3RD TIME THEY DID A VIBRATION SOFTWARE UPDATE. STILL SHUDDERS IN LOWER GEARS, STILL HAS A VIBRATION WHILE IDLE, BUT THEY CLAIM THAT THEIR TECHNICIANS "CAN'T FEEL IT" OR THAT THEY "CAN'T GET THE CAR TO DUPLICATE". RIDICULOUS. THEY KNOW THE TRANSMISSION IS FAULTY AND THEY DON'T WANT TO FOOT THE BILL.

WE PURCHASED OUR 2015 NISSAN MURANO PLATINUM ON 1/10/2019. THE VEHICLE HAS 36,106K. ON 1/13/2019 WE FELT A SLIGHT JUDDER WITH THE VEHICLE. WE AGAIN FELT A JUDDER ON 1/15/2019, WHICH WAS MORE SEVERE. ALTHOUGH NO SERVICE LIGHT WAS PRESENT, WE IMMEDIATELY CONTACTED THE DEALER AND SCHEDULED SERVICE FOR 1/16/2018. UPON COMPLETION OF THE SERVICE CALL, THE DEALER INDICATED THAT THE VALVE BODY WOULD NEED REPLACED, WHICH IS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. I HAVE READ SEVERAL COMPLAINTS REGARDING THIS ISSUE WITH NISSAN CVTS. IT IS A CLEAR DANGER TO THE CONSUMER THAT IF THE CVT CONTINUES TO JUDDER AN ACCIDENT IS LIKELY. IN ADDITION, ISSUES WITH THE CVT CAN CAUSE A COMPLETE FAILURE OF THE VEHICLE, CAUSING SERIOUS HARM TO THE CONSUMER. CARS WILL GIVE A SERVICE LIGHT WHEN AN ISSUE AS TRIVIAL AS TIRE PRESSURE, LOW FUEL AND CHANGE ENGINE OIL OCCUR. WHY WHEN A MAJOR MECHANICAL ISSUE IS OCCURRING IS THE CAR NOT ALERTING THE OPERATOR OF A POTENTIALLY DEADLY CONSEQUENCE??!!

AT ABOUT 10,000 MILES AT LOW SPEEDS ON LOCAL CITY ROADS, I COULD SOMETIMES FEEL VIBRATIONS AND A LACK OF ACCELERATION THAT FELT LIKE THE TRANSMISSION COULDN'T DECIDE WHAT TO DO. ALWAYS AT SPEEDS UNDER 20 MPH AND GENERALLY WHEN EITHER SLOWING DOWN FOR AN INTERSECTION OR STARTING TO SPEED UP WHEN THE TRAFFIC LIGHT TURNED GREEN IN TIME THAT I DIDN'T NEED TO FULLY STOP. AFTER A FEW OF THESE I TOOK CAR TO DEALER AND THE FIRST TIME THEY SAID THERE HAD BEEN NO ERROR CODES GENERATED AND TO JUST KEEP DRIVING IT. AFTER THE SECOND OR THIRD TIME I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER, NOW WITH 12,839 MILES ON IT THEY REPROGRAMMED THE STEERING ANGLE ADJUSTMENT AND THE PROBLEM SEEMED TO GO AWAY. HOWEVER, NOW AT 21,000 MILES, IT SEEMS TO BE COMING BACK AGAIN. I FEEL LIKE THE CVT AND COMPUTER HAVE A PROBLEM COMMUNICATING WITH EACH OTHER IN THESE LOW-SPEED SITUATIONS. THIS HESITATION IN ACCELERATION COULD CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT AND CERTAINLY FEELS UNSAFE.
Mileage: 21,000
TAKATA RECALL. WHEN COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP JUST UNDER 20 MILES PER HOUR THE TRANSMISSION GRABS AND SLOWS YOU DOWN AND THEN RELEASES. THIS CAUSES YOU TO STOP SHORT OR STOP TOO FAR AHEAD. EITHER WAY CAN BE DANGEROUS. PLEASE GIVE US A RECALL. I DON'T FEEL SAFE

MY 2015 NISSAN MURANO STARTED HAVING SOME TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS AT AROUND 20K MILES. ON LOW REVS SPECIALLY THE TRANSMISSION JERKS AND SHUDDERS. IT'S LIKE IT CAN'T SELECT THE PROPER GEAR AND IT'S A COUPLE GEARS UP FROM WHERE IT SHOULD BE. THE VIBRATION IS VERY ANNOYING AND POTENTIALLY UNSAFE. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THAT THEY COULD FEEL THE PROBLEM, BUT THAT THERE ARE NO LIGHTS IN THE DASHBOARD. SUGGESTED TO KEEP DRIVING THE CAR UNTIL A SERVICE LIGHT SHOWS UP. I THINK THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. I WAN TO SELL MY CAR NOW, BUT NO ONE WOULD BUY A CAR THAT SHAKES ON LOW REVS.

THE TRANSFER CASE AND AXLE SEALS ON MY 2015 NISSAN MURANO HAVE BEEN LEAKING AND THE DEALER HAS HAD THE VEHICLE THREE DIFFERENT TIMES, WITHIN THE LAST MONTH AND A HALF, FOR NUMEROUS DAYS. THERE WAS 27,091 MILES ON IT WHEN I TOOK IT IN ON 11-08-17. THE DEALER HAS PROVIDED A RENTAL EACH TIME. THE THREE DATES THE VEHICLE WENT INTO THE DEALER ARE: 11-08-17, 12-02-17 AND 12-19-17. I FILED A CASE WITH NISSAN UNDER CASE #29147756 AND GAVE THEM A COPY OF THE TITLE SHOWING THAT IT WAS PURCHASED THROUGH MY FAMILY'S BUSINESS, BURKINS & FOLEY. I WILL PROVIDE YOU WITH A COPY IF NEEDED.
CVT SHUDDERS AT LOW SPEEDS 20 - 40 MPH, THE FEELING IS AS IF THE GEARS ARE JAMMING AND BANGING AGAINST EACH OTHER; IMMEDIATELY RELEASING ACCELERATOR AND PRESSING FOR HARDER ACCELERATION TEMPORARY SUPPRESSES THIS BEHAVIOR. ANY INCLINES WHERE CAR SLOWS DOWN AND RPM FALLS CAN LEAD TO REOCCURRENCE OF THE SAME. HAPPENS 2/3 TIMES WHEN THESE CONDITIONS DESCRIBED ABOVE HAPPEN. I BELIEVE THE 'D'-STEP ARTIFICIAL SHIFTER TECHNOLOGY IS GOING OUT OF SYNC WITH REST OF TRANSMISSION ROTATION SPEED AND CAUSING THE GEARS TO GRIND DURING THOSE D-STEP ADJUSTMENTS.
Mileage: 64,000
VEHICLE HESTIATES - IT JERKS AND SHUDDERS WHEN ACCELERATING NORMALY AROUND 20 MPH, AND ALSO AROUND 40 MPH. IT FEELS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION ISN'T SHIFTING PROPERLY AND CAUSING ABNORMAL VIBRATION AND INSTABILITY WHILE TRYING TO ACCELERATE NORMALY. THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION ON CITY STREETS AND URBAN HIGHWAYS WHEN THIS HAPPENS. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF MONTHS - AND AS RECENTLY ON SUNDAY AUGUST 27, 2017.

AT 20K MILES IN OUR 2015 NISSAN MURANO, WE EXPERIENCED THE CAR CHUGGING AT SPEEDS UNDER 15MPH, TURNING A CORNER, ACCELERATING FROM A STOP. THE CHUGGING WAS FOLLOWED BY ENGINE REVVING. THIS WAS FOLLOWED 2 DAYS LATER BY COMPLETE FAILURE WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE AT ALL. IT HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AFTER THE ENGINE FAILED. NISSAN CANNOT DETERMINE A CAUSE AND IS REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION

DIFFICULTY WITH GEAR SHIFT MOVING OUT OF PARK INTO DRIVE, NEUTRAL OR REVERSE. PROBLEM OCCURS WITH COLD ENGINE AND WARM ENGINE, ALWAYS FROM STATIONARY POSITION. MAKES A LOW SOUNDING CLUNK AFTER FINALLY MOVING INTO GEAR. RESISTANCE OF GEAR SHIFT TO MOVE IS NOT CONSISTENT BUT IS FREQUENT (ABOUT 7 OUT OF EVERY 10 DRIVING EVENTS OR 70% OF THE TIME) NO FLUID LEAKAGE UNDER VEHICLE HAS BEEN OBSERVED. PROBLEM HAS EXISTED WITH CAR WITHIN MONTHS OF PURCHASE AS NEW VEHICLE.
STARTED ABOUT 1 1/2 WEEKS AGO (APPROX 2900 MILES ON THE ODOMETER), FIRST TIME WASNT EXPECTING IT AND HOPED IT WAS JUST A FLUKE, 2ND TIME IT HAPPENED EARLY MY DAUGHTERS WERE WITH ME AND ASKED WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE CAR WHEN IT HAPPENED, AND THEN AGAIN THE OTHER MORNING AT THE END OF MY 45 MIN RIDE INTO WORK. EACH TIME IT HAPPENED WAS WHEN I WAS MERGING FROM AN ON RAMP INTO TRAFFIC. THE LAST OCCURANCE, AND I BELIEVE THE OTHERS AS WELL, I WAS GOING APPROX 35MPH, STAYING STEADY ON THE SPEED LOOKING FOR A SPOT IN TRAFFIC TO MERGE INTO, GIVING IT GAS AND STARTED MY MERGE ONLY TO FEEL AND HEAR NO CHANGE IN RPM OR SPEED, GIVING IT MORE AND MORE PETAL, AND STILL NO CHANGE IN SPEED AT ALL, AFTER AVOIDING THE OTHER DRIVER THAT ALMOST HIT ME BECAUSE OF IT, I MOVED BACK OVER AND HAD A MOMENT AND TRIED AGAIN TO GET INTO THE PETAL AT ALMOST WIDE OPEN THROTTLE AND STILL NO RPM CHANGE AND NO MOVEMENT UP IN SPEED (ALSO STILL NO LOSS OF SPEED), DURING EACH OCCURRENCE THE CAR WAS SMOOTH (NO ENGINE BUCKING JUST WOULDN'T RESPOND TO GAS INPUT). THE SAME SYMPTOMS HAVE OCCURED THE THREE TIMES IT'S OCCURED. THE RESOLVE EACH TIME WAS THE SAME, LET OFF THE GAS FOR 1-2 SECS, GIVE IT GAS AND THE CAR DROVE AGAIN AS NORMAL. DEALERSHIP HAS LOOKED AT MY CAR WITH NO EXPLINATION, NO TROUBLE CODES WERE GENERATED, AND THEY STATED TRANNY FLUID WAS FINE. IT ACTED LIKE THE CVT WAS STUCK ON A PARTICULAR BAND AND ALSO WOULDN'T ALLOW ANY ADDITIONAL GAS, HENCE NO ADDITIONAL SPEED. THE LAST OCCURANCE IT WAS ABOUT 35 DEGREES OUT. I HAVE TRIED TO REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM MANY TIMES WITH NO SUCCESS AT ALL, AND WITH NO CODES BEING GENERATED TO POINT THE DEALEFSHIP TO ANY ISSUE, THIS IS A BIG SAFETY CONCERN FOR ME AND MY FAMILY AS IT GOES UNRESOLVED.

WHEN OVERRIDING INTELLIGENT CRUISE CONTROL TO PASS A CAR, OCCASIONALLY THE XTRONIC CVT TRANSMISSION APPEARS TO GO INTO NEUTRAL, RPM INCREASES RAPIDLY AND CAR DOESN'T SPEED UP. MOST OCCASIONS HAVE BEEN TRAVELING ON INCLINE. WHEN TRANSMISSION RE-ENGAGES IT JERKS SOMETIMES VERY HARD. ON ONE INSTANCE TURNED CRUISE CONTROL OFF AND TRANSMISSION RE- ENGAGED. MOST OCCASIONS HAVE BEEN AT SPEEDS 60-65 MPH CARRIED CAR TO DEALER COULD NOT WARRANTY BECAUSE IT DID NOT SHOW UP ON COMPUTER.
