I CANT EVEN DRIVE DOWN THE STREET OVER 40 WITHOUT THE VEHCLE DOING A DEATH SHAKE FROM HELL TO TOP THAT OFF DUE TO THE RECALL FOR THE STRUT PLACEMENT ERROR CAUSING MY STRUT TOWER WALL DIRECTLY BEHIND MY PASSENGER SIDE FRONT WHEEL TO ALMOST BE COMPLETLY GONE FROM RUSTING OUT. THIS IS TOTAL BULLSHIT. SOMETHING GOTTA GIVE. IM CALLING CORPORATE IN THE MORNING. HOPEFULLY THEY DONT TRY TO BEAT AROUND BUSH WITH ME LIKE THEY DO TO ALL THERE CUSTOMERS THEY DO WRONG.
I AM HAVING MULTIPLE ISSUES WITH MY 1998 NISSAN PATHFINDER DUE TO CORROSION. THE MOST RECENT INCIDENT WAS WHILE I WAS DRIVING MY MUFFLER FELL OFF. I TOOK IT TO A SHOP AND WHEN THEY RAISED THE VEHICLE, THE ENTIRE EXHAUST SYSTEM HAD CORROSION AND HOLES FROM IT. THIS WAS FOLLOWED BY LAST YEARS STRUT HOUSING CORROSION WHICH BROKE OFF THE STRUT FROM THE FRAME OF THE VEHICLE WHILE I WAS DRIVING. I LOST BRAKES AND HAD TO STEP ON PEDAL ALL THE WAY, AND THEN THE VEHICLE GRADUALLY CAME TO A STOP. THE RECALL NOTICE CAME AFTER THE INCIDENT. THIS WAS FOLLOWED BY THE PREVIOUS YEAR'S GAS TANK CORROSION WHICH CAUSED GAS TO DRIP. ALSO A RECALL NOTICE CAME IN AND NISSAN DEALER FIXED ISSUE. *TR

THE STRUT HOUSING ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE RUSTED COMPLETELY AND BROKE . IT CAUSED THE INNER FENDER TO TOUCH THE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER. I HAD TO PAY TO HAVE THIS REPAIRED OUT OF POCKET, AND THEN RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE SEVERAL MONTHS LATER. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT THE NEXT STEP IS FOR REIMBURSEMENT. *TR

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1998 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS SEVERE RUSTING ON THE FRONT DRIVERS SIDE STRUT HOUSING AND FRAME. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THEY WOULD SPRAY A SUBSTANCE ON THE PORTION OF THE FRAME THAT WAS RUSTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 90,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.

THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE WAS MAKING A STRANGE NOISE UPON INSPECTION I REALIZED THE FRONT LEFT STRUT TOWER SEPARATED FROM THE CHASSIE OF THE VEHICLE. AFTER INSPECTION FROM A REGISTERED REPAIR SHOP THEY RENDERED THE VEHICLE UNREPAIRABLE DUE TO SAFETY LIABILITY. *TR

THE BOTTOM OF THE CAR RUSTING COMPLETELY I THINK. 2. THERE IS BIG NOISE FROM THE BOTTOM OF THE CAR FEELING LIKE SOMETHING COULD BE RUSTED AND BROKEN. 3. THE 2 SIDE RUNNING BOARDS ARE CORRODED AND BROKEN AND SEPARATED FROM THE VEHICLE. I DON'T FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE NOW. *TR

THESE 20+ POUND PIECES OF METAL FALLING ONTO A ROADWAY AND BEING HIT BY ANOTHER VEHICLE COULD PRESENT A SERIOUS ACCIDENT RISK. HAVE CONTACTED NISSAN MOTORS VIA LETTER (WITH PICTURES) AND VISITED A LOCAL DEALER. PHONE CALL FROM NISSAN MOTORS DENIED ANY AND ALL RESPONSIBILITY FOR POOR DESIGN AND INFERIOR METAL ON THIS PART. THERE MUST BE MANY VEHICLES ON THE ROAD WITH THIS POTENTIALLY LETHAL DEFECT. *TR

I DISCOVERED THAT THE LEFT FRONT STRUT TOWER HAS BEGUN TO TEAR AWAY FROM THE REST OF THE BODY AT ITS BASE. THERE IS VISIBLE CORROSION AT THE BASE. I RECENTLY NOTICED UNUSUAL SWAYING AFTER HITTING BUMPS AT HIGHWAY SPEED. THE TOP OF THE STRUT TOWER IS OBVIOUSLY OUT OF ALIGNMENT WITH THE OPPOSITE TOWER. THE BRAKE LINE TO THE LEFT FRONT WHEEL IS NOW UNDER STRESS. THERE HAVE BEEN NO KNOWN COLLISIONS WITH THE VEHICLE. NO KNOWN INCIDENT TO CAUSE DAMAGE. NO HEAVY OFF-ROAD. VEH. HAS BEEN USED TO TOW. *TR
