I've ran out of gas twice my indicator the gas tank gauge does not show that the vehicle is empty it shows it's full and then I run out of gas on the side of the road almost get hit by cars trying to get to gas station to get more gas in the middle of traffic very dangerous have my daughter with me trying to push my vehicle out of the way so I don't get hit apparently it's a recall that says mine was done but it's not done because it's still having problems I am the third owner of mine so I think it was mislabeled as completed if that's the case then how do I know any of these recalls have been done properly

Car shuts off In the middle of driving & also when simply parked. It starts jerking like it’s trying to catch up then it kills. It’s happened in front of traffic and busy roadways/intersections. It has happened more than once.

WHEN GAS GAUGE NEARS 1/4 FULL THE NEEDLE EITHER STICKS OR DROPS TO EMPTY. THE GAUGE DOES NOT RETURN TO FULL FOR SEVERAL TRIPS OR DAYS. NISSAN HAS HAD RECALLS FOR THIS BUT INDICATES MY VIN # IS NOT ON THEIR LIST. THE PROBLEM I AM HAVING IS EXACTLY AS IT IS DESCRIBED ON THE RECALL. I HAVE COMPENSATED FOR THIS BY KEEPING TRACK OF MY MILEAGE SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN 2014.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE WAS NOT WORKING. NORMALLY, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WOULD DISPLAY HOW MANY MILES REMAINED UNTIL FUEL WAS NEEDED ACCORDING TO THE FUEL AMOUNT. EVER SINCE THE FAILURE BEGAN APPROXIMATELY THREE MONTHS AGO, THE CONTACT WAS REFUELING THE VEHICLE MORE OFTEN SINCE THE FUEL TO MILEAGE SYSTEM FAILED. THE DEALER (DARTMOUTH NISSAN, 83 S STATE ROAD, NORTH DARTMOUTH, MASSACHUSETTS) WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WOULD BE A DIAGNOSTIC FEE. DUE TO THE FEE, THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 185,000.

THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF FUEL. THE FUEL GAUGE FAILED TO PROVIDE THE ACCURATE READING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FIESTA NISSAN (2005 ST MICHAELS DR., SANTA FE, NM 87505, (505) 955-1000) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL SENSOR FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE REPAIR FEES. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V075000 (FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE). THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 111,000.

THE SCANNER IS SHOWING DTC P0463 FUEL LEVEL SENSOR "A" CIRCUIT HIGH. WHY MOST CAR ARE ELIGIBLE FOR A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE AND MINE HAS NOT? THIS PROBLEM IS PREVENTING THE SYSTEM FROM SHOWING THE ACTUAL FUEL LEVEL AND COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT IF THE ENGINE FAILS AND STOP. PLEASE ADVISE.

MY HUSBAND HAS MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS AND RAN OUT OF GAS ON THE HIGHWAY DUE TO A FAULTY READING ON THE GAS GAUGE. HE HAD TO WALK FROM THE HIGHWAY IN RECORD LOW COLD TO THE GAS STATION WITH HIS DISABILITY IN THE COLD WEATHER TO GET GAS AND BACK. THE DEALER STATES OUR TRUCK IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL AND BELIEVE THIS TO BE UNFAIR. IF THIS IS A KNOW RECALL IT SHOULD BE FIX AND SHOULD NOT MATTER IF YOUR VEHICLE WAS LISTED AS THE CARS AFFECTED ESPECIALLY IF IT IS A KNOW ISSUE. HE COULD HAVE DIED!

THE NISSAN DEALER WILL NOT COVER THE COSTS OF PARTS AND LABOR EVEN AFTER I SHOWED THEM THE DOCUMENTATION FOR THE RECALL. I NEED TO GET REIMBURSED BASED ON THIS RECALL CAMPAIGN. THE ATTACHED DOCUMENTATION SPECIFICALLY STATES THAT THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR NEEDS TO BE REPLACED.

IN 3/2017 I RECEIVED NHTSA SAFETY RECALL NO. 10V-075 FROM NISSAN NORTH AMERICA. I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN ON 3/31/2017 FOR THIS WORK TO BE PERFORMED KNOWING THIS WAS A VERY IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL INVOLVING THE GAS TANK FLOAT. AFTER THE WORK WAS PERFORMED THE FUEL GAUGE GIVES FALSE READINGS: WHEN THE GAUGE REACHES ABOUT 1/2 FULL IT DROPS TO EMPTY AND THE "DISTANCE TO EMPTY" COMPUTER SAYS 12 MILES LEFT UNTIL RUNNING OUT OF GAS. WHEN FILLING UP WITH WITH THE GAUGE READING EMPTY AND 12 DTE THE TANK WILL ONLY ACCEPT 12 GALLONS AND IT'S A 21.1 GALLON CAPACITY TANK. I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN TO SCOTT CLARK NISSAN IN CHARLOTTE, NC 4/12/2017 AND 6/28/2017. I'VE ALSO FILED A FORMAL CASE/COMPLAINT WITH NISSAN NORTH AMERICA: 27312766. NISSAN IS REFUSING TO FIX THE ISSUE EVEN THOUGH THE MALFUNCTION WAS A RESULT OF THE SAFETY RECALL WORK. THIS POSES A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AS WE DO NOT KNOW IF/WHEN THE VEHICLE WILL RUN OUT OF FUEL. AGAIN, I'VE TRIED TO WORK WITH SCOTT CLARK NISSAN IN CHARLOTTE, NC AND NISSAN NORTH AMERICAN IN GOOD FAITH TO GET THIS ISSUE RESOLVED. THEY ARE REFUSING TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR SAFETY RECALL MAKING THE VEHICLE LESS SAFE AFTER THE WORK WAS PERFORMED. I HAVE HAD THE COOLANT PROBLEM FIXED. THEN I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE ALL THE U-JOINTS. I HAVE HAD TO BUY NEW GAS CAPS TO GET MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO GO OFF. NOW THERE IS A TERRIBLE LEAK AND A NOISE THAT IS SO BAD. I TOOK IT INTO A LOCAL SHOP AND IT IS THE TIMING CHAIN. THIS CAR HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS AND NOW IT IS SO BAD THAT I CAN'T SELL IT BECAUSE NO ONE WANTS IT AND I AM NOW SO UPSIDE DOWN IN MY LOAN BECAUSE THE VALUE IS GOING DOWN SO MUCH THAT I CAN'T TRADE IT IN.

I WAS DEVISTATED WE DID EVERYTHING IN OUR POWER MADE REPORTS CALLED EVERYONE POSSIBLE NOTHING! TRIED TO SUE HOWEVER I FELL ILL (CANCER) AND COULDN'T KEEP OUR HEARING APT HERE IN SACRAMENTO CA. ITS STILL PARKED IN OUR GARAGE.

I TOOK MY PATHFINDER IN TO THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALER FOR A CHECK UP--CHUGGING AT 35MPH, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT SPORADICALLY GOES ON AND OFF, GAS GAUGE STOPPED FUNCTIONING. NISSAN RAN THE DIAGNOSTICS AND TOLD ME THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS BECAUSE I NEED TO PAY $500.00 TO REPLACE THE FUEL SENSOR. I BELIEVE THIS IS A PART THAT WAS PREVIOUSLY RECALLED. I DON'T KNOW IF NISSAN CONSIDERS THE FIX ONCE AND DONE BUT VEHICLES DRIVEN IN SALT AND SAND WINTER CONDITIONS WILL NEED EXTRA ATTENTION. THE TRANSMISSION TROUBLE IS SOMETHING NISSAN KNOWS ABOUT BUT REFUSES TO RECALL. I WAS TOLD I NEEDED TO REPLACE THE RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION--OVER $5000.00. IF NISSAN KNOWS ABOUT THESE PROBLEMS, WHY MUST I, A NOW UNHAPPY OWNER, PAY FOR THESE REPAIRS?

WHILE RESEARCHING A TRANSMISSION ISSUE ON MY 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER, MY HUSBAND CAME ACROSS RECALL #10V075000 FOR THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR FOR 2006 PATHFINDERS. AFTER ALL THE TRANSMISSION/RADIATOR REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED (ANOTHER ISSUE THAT NISSAN WAS WELL AWARE OF BUT HAS NOT REMEDIED) MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND I TOOK IT TO AN AUTO PARTS STORE TO HAVE THE CODE READ. THEY PUT IT ON A CODE READER AND TOLD ME IT WAS THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR. I CONTACTED MY LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP TO BRING MY CAR IN TO HAVE THE REPAIR DONE. I WAS TOLD THAT THE RECALL WAS NOT ASSOCIATED WITH MY VIN AND THAT THE REPAIR WOULD HAVE TO BE PAID FOR OUT OF MY POCKET. I THEN CONTACTED NISSAN NORTH AMERICA WHERE I WAS TOLD TO TAKE MY CAR INTO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP: 1) ASK FOR A DIAGNOSTIC CODE ON THE PART 2) GET THE NAME OF THE SERVICE ADVISOR AND DEALERSHIP 3) GET AN ESTIMATED COST OF REPAIR/REPLACEMENT AND I WAS GIVEN A CASE NUMBER. I MADE AN APPOINTMENT AND HAD ALL OF THOSE THINGS ACCOMPLISHED. I THEN CALLED BACK AND GAVE NISSAN ALL THE REQUIRED INFORMATION AND WAS TOLD THEY WOULD CALL ME BACK WITH A DECISION. 2 DAYS LATER SOMEONE FROM CONSUMER AFFAIRS CALLED ME BACK AND TOLD ME THAT NISSAN WOULD NOT PAY FOR THE REPAIR SINCE MY VIN IS NOT ASSOCIATED WITH THE RECALL. I ASKED TO SPEAK WITH THAT PERSONS SUPERVISOR AND WAS TOLD THAT SUPERVISORS DID NOT HAVE CUSTOMER CONTACT..SO MUCH FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I TRIED TO EXPLAIN THAT MY CAR IS SHOWING ALL OF THE SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS THAT GO ALONG WITH THIS PROBLEM INCLUDING; MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMING ON, THE COMPUTER SHOWING THE CODE FOR THE ISSUE, MY DIGITAL GAS GAUGE NOT READING CORRECTLY, MY REGULAR GAS GAUGE NOT GOING BELOW TANK, AND ALMOST RUNNING OUT OF GAS WITH MY CHILDREN IN THE CAR WITH ME. . I HAVE BEEN FORCED TO RELY ON MY ODOMETER TO INDICATE WHEN I SHOULD REFILL MY GAS TANK.

WE TOOK IT TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC SINCE WE HAD RECENTLY A BAD EXPERIENCE WITH OUR LOCAL NISSAN DEALER IN FIXING ANOTHER PROBLEM (TIMING CHAIN). THE MECHANIC DROPPED THE TRANSMISSION PAN AND FOUND THE RADIATOR WAS LEAKING COOLANT INTO THE TRANSMISSION FLUID. SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING RECENTLY. I RESEARCHED POSSIBILITIES ON CAUSE AND DISCOVERED VIA THE INTERNET THIS WAS TYPICAL OF THIS MAKE/MODEL/YEAR AND THAT THE FUEL LEVEL SENSOR AND SENDING UNIT HAD ISSUES. NISSAN INFO ON RECALLS INDICATES THAT ABOUT 74,000 VEHICLES OF THIS TYPE/YEAR HAD THAT PROBLEM AND WERE BEING RECALLED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING, THE FUEL GAUGE DISPLAYED AN INACCURATE FUEL LEVEL READING, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO STALL. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO RESTART VEHICLE. THE CONTACT REFUELED THE VEHICLE AND WAS ABLE TO RESOLVE THE FAILURE MOMENTARILY BEFORE RECURRING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEALER WHO ADVISED THAT THE FUEL SENSOR WAS DEFECTIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED BY REPLACING THE FUEL SENSOR. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE SHIFTED OUT OF GEAR ABNORMALLY. THE DEALER DETERMINED THAT THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY COOLING FLUID LEAKING INTO THE RADIATOR. THE DEALER THEN PERFORMED A TRANSMISSION SYSTEM FLUSH AND THE FAILURE WAS RESOLVED. ONE YEAR LATER AFTER REFUELING THE VEHICLE, THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO DEALER WHO INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND DETERMINED THAT THE TRANSMISSION MODULE SYSTEM HAD FAILED. THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO A LEAK OF COOLING FLUID INTO THE RADIATOR SYSTEM. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000. THE APPROXIMATE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 107,000.

OUR PATHFINDER HAS FAILED AND BEEN "REPAIRED" 7 TIMES NOW FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. IT'S RELATED TO THE ISSUE ABOUT THE FUEL SENDING UNITS. I WAS EVEN ALSO TOLD BY NISSAN THAT THE SENDING UNIT WAS REPLACED BEFORE WE PURCHASED THE VEHICLE WITH LESS THAN 22K MILES. TO DATE NO LESS THAN 3 UNITS HAVE BEEN INSTALLED (INCLUDING THE NEWLY DESIGNED ONE 2X ) TO ADDRESS PLASTIC GAS TANK ISSUES. ON THREE OCCASIONS WE'VE RUN OUT OF FUEL. IT REGISTERS 1/2 TANK AND THEN WE RUN OUT. OR IT IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE 1/2 TANK AND THEN DROPS TO E AND THE EMPTY FUEL LIGHT COMES ON. THIS WHOLE THING HAS PASSED THE INSANE LEVEL. ONCE I HAD TO PAY 400+ FOR REPAIRS AS THE WARRANTY ON THE VEHICLE WAS EXPIRED. I TRIED TO ARGUE IT WAS COVERED UNDER PREVIOUS REPAIRS BUT THAT'S LIKE SPITTING IN THE WIND (NISSAN AS WELL AS THE DEALER COWELS NISSAN). SINCE THE LAST "REPAIR" A FEW MONTHS AGO IT HAS ALSO FAILED 4 MORE TIMES. WE'RE JUST IN THE HABIT OF USING THE TRIP METER. FIRST QUESTION IS THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE WHEN YOU POTENTIALLY COULD JUST RUN OUT OF GAS ON THE INTERSTATE. ALSO WITH ALL THESE ERRORS IN THE COMPUTER THE VEHICLE WON'T PASS STATE SAFETY INSPECTIONS. LAST TIME NISSAN REFUSED TO REPLACE THE SENDER UNIT OR AUTHORIZE ANY REPAIRS OR PAY FOR A LOANER VEHICLE. MY 2006 NISSAN PATHFINDER HAD BEEN HAVING FUEL GAUGE PROBLEMS FOR SEVERAL WEEKS. FINALLY AFTER THE ANNOYANCE BECAME TOO MUCH, WE TOOK IT TO THE NISSAN DEALER. WE WERE TOLD THAT THERE WAS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL GAUGE ASSEMBLY THAT INVOLVED A RECALL. UNFORTUNATELY FOR US, WE MISSED THE RECALL BY LESS THAN FOUR MONTHS. MY COMPLAINT IS THAT NISSAN KNEW THERE WAS A PROBLEM, THEN ARBITRARILY CHOSE A DATE WHEN THE RECALL WOULD END THAT WOULD SATISFY THE NHTSA, BUT NOT FULLY COVER THE PERIOD WHEN THIS PROBLEM COULD ARISE. LIMITING THIS RECALL BY DATE CAN PROVE TO BE EXTREMELY PREJUDICIAL TO THE CUSTOMER THAT PURCHASES THE VEHICLE LATER IN THE YEAR; FOR EXAMPLE, PURCHASING THE CAR IN NOVEMBER 2006 VERSUS JANUARY 2006 WOULD PLACE THE CONSUMER AT AN ELEVEN MONTH DISADVANTAGE. *TT

AFTER FILLING MY VEHICLE UP WITH FUEL, THE GAUGE STILL READ ONE QUARTER TANK, AND IT TOOK MOST OF THE DAY BEFORE THE GAUGE SLOWLY MOVED UP TO READ FULL. AFTER THAT, WHEN THE TANK WOULD REACH 1/2 FULL, THE GAUGE WOULD START ACTING CRAZY. ONE MINUTE IT WOULD READ 1/2 FULL, THE NEXT SECOND IT WOULD READ EMPTY AND MY GAS LIGHT WOULD COME ON. ALSO, AT HALF FULL DOWN TO ONE QUARTER FULL, THE SERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT WOULD COME ON. WHEN I DISCOVERED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY YEAR AND MODEL VEHICLE, I CALLED NISSAN TO INQUIRE, BUT WAS TOLD THAT DUE TO MY VIN # MY VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED. THE PROBLEM I WAS HAVING WITH MY FUEL GAUGE IS EXACTLY THE SAME PROBLEM THAT THE RECALL COVERED, AND THE PARTS THAT I HAD TO HAVE REPLACED ARE THE SAME PARTS THAT THE RECALL COVERED. I HAD TO PAY $300 TO HAVE MY VEHICLE REPAIRED, WHEN OBVIOUSLY THE PART COVERED IN THE RECALL WAS ALSO DEFECTIVE IN MY VEHICLE.
