Bought vehicle I’m second owner it was sold as is from a dealership with airbag lights on after a certain amount miles check engine light came on said I had e -regular voltage to fuel injectors 1 gear started slipping then loss of power when accelerating next revolutionary trans-sensor went and now when I start the vehicle the A/T ECU Fuse keeps blowing out and the radiator coolant has transmission fluid mixing into it.
This is.my 2nd time replacing it the oil is mixing with the anti freeze because the radiator has a hole in it another recall problem for nissan
Contamination from the radiator mixed with the transmission cooler. The car is now inoperable due to this design flaw. This causes the transmission to be extremely sluggish and unresponsive when run, oftentimes the engine won't start or crank due to a blown fuse related to this issue. The slow acceleration causes safety issues when pulling out into traffic. The vehicle was inspected by a licensed Illinois auto rebuilder. The four-wheel-drive indicator is stuck to on although the vehicle is in two-wheel drive and service engine light appeared.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN PATHFINDER. THE CONTACT STATED THAT UPON PLACING HER VEHICLE INTO REVERSE, THE VEHICLE SHUT-OFF WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE STARTED ROLLING BACKWARDS. THE CONTACT AND HER SON EXITED THE VEHICLE, TO MANUALLY STOP THE VEHICLE FROM ROLLING BACK AND HITTING A BUILDING. THE CONTACT THEN HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHERE THE MECHANIC REPLACED THE ENGINE COIL BLOCK HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE STARTED TO OVERHEAT AT START-UP. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT UNDISCLOSED SPEEDS, THERE WAS WHITE SMOKE COMING FROM THE ENGINE WHILE THE TEMPERATURE GAUGE SHOWED A HIGH ENGINE TEMPERATURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED HER THAT THE WARRANTY HAD EXPIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 93,500.

MY 2008 NISSAN PATHFINDER HAD TRANSMISSION ISSUES AND WAS REPLACED TWICE IN 2017. I BROUGHT TO THE NISSAN AUTHORIZED DEALER FIRST FOR A THUMBING SOUND WHEN PUSHING GAS PEDAL AFTER TAKING THE FOOT OFF. WHEN IT WORSENED THEY SAID IT WAS THE CALIPERS AND CHANGED MY CALIPERS FOR $2000. BUT THE THUMBING SOUND PERSISTED. AFTER A FEW MONTHS THEY SAID IT WAS TRANSMISSION ISSUE AND THEY CHANGED THE TRANSMISSION TWICE. THE THUMBING SOUND PERSISTED WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN ABOVE 40 MPH. THE TRANSMISSION WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY BUT THE SOUND GOT WORSE. I TOOK IT TO ANOTHER DEALERSHIP AND THEY FOUND BROKEN METAL PIECES IN THE REAL AXLE BOX. I CALLED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND THEY SAID THEY CANNOT HELP SINCE THERE IS NO RECALL. I SEE SIMILAR INCIDENTS REPORTED BY CONSUMERS IN THE INTERNET. NOW I HAVE TO PAY $3000 TO REPLACE THE REAR AXLE ASSEMBLY ACCORDING TO THE QUOTE GIVEN BY THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP FOR PARTS AND LABOR. THIS WAS SOMETHING THAT COULD HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED DURING THE WARRANTY TIME AND NISSAN DEALERSHIP COULDN'T DIAGNOSE IT. NOT THEY SAY THE WARRANTY WAS OVER A YEAR AGO. HAVING THE GEAR BOX BROKEN IS SOMETHING THAT SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN. THIS WAS SOMETHING THAT HAPPENED DURING THE WARRANTY PERIOD BUT NOW NISSAN REJECTS TO CORRECT IT.

I TOOK IT TO A REPUTABLE TRANSMISSION REPAIR SHOP WHERE I WAS INFORMED THERE IS A "CRACK" IN THE COOLING PART OF MY RADIATOR AND MY RADIATOR AND TRANSMISSION AND BOTH NEED REPLACED. ALSO THAT THE RADIATOR FLUID AND THE TRANSMISSION FLUID ARE MIXED TOGETHER.
I BOUGHT THE CAR FROM A USED CAR DEALERSHIP WITH 109,000 MILES ON IT. NOT EVEN A MONTH AFTER BUYING IT, THE INTERCOOLER LINE CRACKED CAUSING THE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND COOLANT TO MIX. THIS COMPLETELY DESTROYED MY RADIATOR, WHICH I HAD TO REPLACE, ALONG WITH FLUSHING THE ENTIRE COOLING SYSTEM. IT ALSO CAUSED MY TRANSMISSION TO FAIL. TO REPAIR MY CAR WILL COST ME ABOUT $5,000. I WENT TO NISSAN ABOUT THIS AND WAS TOLD THEY COULD NOT HELP ME BECAUSE THE CAR HAS OVER 100,000 MILES ON IT. I WAS ABLE TO TEMPORARILY FIX IT, BUT NOW MY TRANSMISSION IS COMPLETELY JUNK AND I CAN'T AFFORD TO FIX IT OR GIVE IT BACK TO THE BANK. ALL OF THESE ISSUES OCCURRED WHILE I WAS DRIVING THE VEHICLE.

REPAIR SHOP QUOTED US FOR RADIATOR REPLACEMENT AND TRANSMISSION SERVICE BUT WARNED IF THE TRANSMISSION WAS TOO CONTAMINATED IT COULD NEED A WHOLE REPLACEMENT OF THAT AS WELL. UPON SEARCHING ONLINE FOR THIS ISSUE WE FOUND IT IS A KNOWN PROBLEM FOR NISSAN PATHFINDERS OF THIS AGE AND WITH THIS RADIATOR TYPE. IT CAN CAUSE THE TRANSMISSION TO SEIZE UP WHILE DRIVING AND RENDER THE CAR UNABLE TO BE CONTROLLED.

THIS PARTICULAR YEAR AND MAKE OF VEHICLE HAS A KNOWN MANUFACTURERS DEFECT THAT CAUSES THE TRANSMISSION FLUID TO MIX IN WITH THE RADIATOR, WHICH IN TURN RUINS YOUR VEHICLE AND CAUSES ABOUT $5,000+ IN REPAIRS. A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT WAS SETTLED REGARDING THIS, AND ALL NISSAN DID WAS EXTEND THEIR WARRANTY. UNFORTUNATELY, THIS DEFECT DOESN'T ALWAYS BREAKDOWN PRIOR TO THE WARRANTY ENDING, IN MY CASE, IT HAPPENED SHORTLY AFTER THE WARRANTY WAS UP. SO NOW I'M STUCK WITH A VEHICLE I PURCHASED 2 YEARS AGO, THAT DOESN'T WORK, AND I STILL OWE MONEY ON IT, ALL BECAUSE OF THIS KNOWN DEFECT.

NEXT PROBLEM P1774 SAID LOW COAST BRAKE-FASTENS SOLENOID VALVE FUNCTION. ALL THIS TIME ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND CHARGED ME $50. TO RESET LIGHT. THEN NEXT PROBLEM IS THE TRANSMISSION NOW IS 4 GEAR COME WITH ISSUES AND IS IN THE MECHANIC NOW,JUNE 6, 2017 I NEED TO REPLACE IT AND CHARGING ME $3,200. BUT THEY STILL WORKING OWN CAUSE THEY DON'T KNOW YET IF DOESN'T WORK I WILL NEED TO PAY MORE. VEHICLE SHUTTERS WHEN TRYING TO CHANGE GEARS. THIS OCCURS WHEN DRIVING AT HIGH AND LOW SPEEDS (IT HAS AN AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION). IF THE VEHICLE IS COLD AND I PUT IT IN DRIVE, THE TRANSMISSION WILL NOT ENGAGE. WHEN IDLING, THE CAR BLOWS COLD AIR IN THE FRONT, EVEN IF ITS SET ON THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE. THE CAR CONSISTENTLY BLOWS COLD AIR IN THE BACK, WHETHER ITS IDLING OR BEING DRIVEN. AFTER HAVING MY CAR LOOKED AT, THE PROBLEM WAS FOUND TO BE CAUSED BY A CRACKED RADIATOR THAT LEAKED COOLANT INTO THE TRANSMISSION. NOT ONLY CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE TRANSMISSION, BUT ALSO TO THE HEATER HOSE WHICH IS BEYOND REPAIR AND NEEDS REPLACEMENT. AFTER DOING RESEARCH, I HAVE FOUND THAT THIS HAS BEEN A MAJOR ISSUE FOR NISSANS WITH A YEAR OF 2005 TO 2010, AND ALTHOUGH THEY DID NOT DO A RECALL, THEY OFFERED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY UP TO $80,000 AND 100,000 WITH A CUSTOMER CO-PAY. BUT FOR MOST PEOPLE THAT PROBLEM DID NOT START OCCURRING UNTIL AFTER 100,000 MILES... LIKE MYSELF. THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT ON THIS WHICH SETTLED IN OCTOBER OF 2012. I BOUGHT MY CAR FROM A NISSAN DEALERSHIP IN APRIL OF 2011. WHY WAS I NOT MADE AWARE OF THIS AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE?!

AFTER A $1,017 BILL FROM AAMCO FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TO FIND THE ISSUE, (IN WHICH THEY HAD TO PULL THE TRANNY AND INSPECT IT WAS DAMAGED DUE TO FLUID FROM RADIATOR GETTING INSIDE COMPROMISING TRANSMISSION SEALS) I DISCOVERED, ONLINE, THIS ONGOING WELL KNOW PROBLEM..CALLED NISSAN NORTH AMERICA AND DISCOVERED MY VEHICLE WAS COVERED UNDER THE 100K MILEAGE (94955 ACTUAL) AND GOOD THROUGH 8-2017, FROM A PREVIOUS FILED COMPLAINT OR CLASS ACTION, NOT SURE WHICH. WHEN MY HUSBAND CALLED NISSAN AND TOLD THEM OUR ISSUE, AND THAT OUR MILEAGE WAS 103,000, THEY SAID WE WERE NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY AND IT WOULD COST APPROXIMATELY $6,000 (OBVIOUSLY KNOWING WHAT THE ISSUE WAS FROM ALL THE OTHER TRANSMISSIONS THAT WERE RUINED FROM THEIR ERROR). MY HUSBAND'S FRIEND, WHO IS MECHANIC, REPLACED THE RADIATOR AND FLUSHED THE TRANSMISSION FLUID. IT SEEMED TO RUN FINE FOR THE NEXT FEW MONTHS, WITH THE OCCASIONAL FLUSH OF THE TRANSMISSION FLUID. WITHIN THE LAST WEEK, THE CAR BEGAN SLIPPING AGAIN. BY YESTERDAY, IT WOULD NOT COME OUT OF SECOND GEAR. MY TRANSMISSION IS SHOT AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED WITH NISSAN, AS WE HAVE BEEN LOYAL CUSTOMERS FOR THE LAST 14 YEARS. I LOVED MY PATHFINDER, AND WOULD THINK THAT AFTER SPENDING $36,000 ON A CAR, IT WOULD HOLD UP LONGER THAN 6 YEARS. IT IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE THAT NISSAN WILL NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR MANUFACTURING ERROR AND THAT THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. I WAS TRAVELING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS GOING ABOUT 60MPH AND THE CAR SUDDENLY JERKED NEARLY GIVING ME WHIPLASH. I THEN LOOKED DOWN AT THE GAUGE CLUSTER AND NO LIGHTS WERE ON AND EVERYTHING SEEMED NORMAL, AND IN ABOUT 5 SECONDS IT DID IT AGAIN... I SLOWED DOWN AS FAST AS I COULD TO MERGE OVER AND GET OUT OF TRAFFIC AND AS I WENT TO PULL OFF THE CAR SHUT DOWN AND I COULD NOT GET IT RESTARTED. I HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED TO MY HOUSE AND PARKED IT FOR A FEW DAYS. THE BATTERY WENT DEAD FROM TRYING TO START IT SO MUCH SO I TOOK IT TO A O'REILY AND FOUND THE BATTERY TO BE BAD SO IT WAS REPLACED. THE CAR THEN STARTED UP AND I DROVE SLOWLY AROUND MY NIEGHBORHOOD AND IT SEEMED OK. THE NEXT DAY MY WIFE TOOK IT BACK TO O'RELIY TO HAVE THE ALTERNATOR TESTED AND IT WAS FINE. I THOUGHT MAYBE IT WAS SOMETHING WRONG TO CAUSE IT TO SHUT DOWN LIKE THAT AND AS SHE WAS DRIVING HOME IT DID THE SAME THING AGAIN. AFTER MUCH RESEARCH IT SEEMS THAT THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH NISSAN PATHFINDERS AND THAT THEY DID NOT LET THE OWNERS KNOW ABOUT THE ISSUE WITH THE RADIATOR FLUID MIXING WITH THE TRANNY FLUID AND RENDERING THE VEHICLE USELESS. I NOTIFIED THE DEALERSHIP OF THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPING AND OF THE WARRANTY NOTICE, AND THAT I WANTED IT LOOKED AT. THEY CAME BACK TO ME AND VERBALLY STATED THAT THERE WAS NO ISSUE WITH MY TRANSMISSION. DEALER DID NOT NOTE IT ON THE WORK ORDER THAT THEY TEST DROVE AND SAID THERE WAS NO ISSUE. NISSAN IS KNOWN TO HAVE RADIATOR PROBLEMS THAT LEAD TO TRANSMISSION FAILURE FOR MY TYPE OF VEHICLE. THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT OUT RIGHT NOW ABOUT THE ISSUE. NISSAN REFUSED TO DO THE WORK UNLESS I PAID FOR THE $3000 CO-PAY, AND PAID FOR THE TIMING CHAIN SHOES, ANOTHER NISSAN KNOWN ISSUE, ANOTHER $1800. MY VEHICLE IS A 2008 PATHFINDER WITH 92000 MILES ON IT NOW. JUST WANT NISSAN TO STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT PROPERLY AND REPLACE THE ITEMS REQUIRED AT NO CHARGE TO ME.
