The vehicle was towed to the local dealer for a tune-up, and the dealer diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the engine failure had occurred eight months after the transmission was replaced due to an unknown failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.

The contact owns a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, and it was determined that the vehicle needed an oil change, and that the check engine warning light would be deactivated. The oil change was performed; however, the check engine warning light remained illuminated. While driving at various speeds, the vehicle failed to accelerate as needed while depressing the accelerator pedal. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

In September 2020 there was a recall on the CVT transmission for several cars. I was not notified whatsoever, so consequently I had to pay for a replacement at my local dealership in February 2021. I was told that I was receiving a new transmission. In December 2023, I was informed that I would need a whole replacement. I went back to my local dealership and they informed me that they would be willing to fix it with a replacement from the factory if I did the labor. They stated I would have to do a claim with NISSAN USA for the replacement. I called and was informed that I did not qualify because of the mileage and warranty period. I went back to the dealership and explained the issue, they said they could do nothing also. I HAVE DOCUMENTS WITH ALL THE DETAILS I WOULD LIKE TO SEND IN. Vehicle started to overheat. Informed by mechanic that one of the 2 electric fans that pull air thru the radiator had gone bad. This also caused the A/C compressor to shut off causing the interior of the vehicle to reach over 100 degrees in less than 15 minutes while driving thru town on a 95+ degree day with the windows rolled down.

I was driving my vehicle and someone notice fluid leaking from the trans cooler area. After all the fluid leaked out without warning on the dash. The vehicle was not driveable and had to get it towed home. After further inspection I noticed one of the oil cooler lines ruptured and bust resulting in the CVT trans fluid leaking out. There was not warning and this could have been dangerous if driving and lost power. There was again not CVT warning light!.. Nissan has a faulty CVT cooling lines

Known CVT Judder on my vehicle and service bulletin. They will not assist payment any repairs for an unsafe vehicle due to mileage. They have had many recalls but refuse to recall this vehicle and continue to market and sell without notifying consumers of known faulty transmission that does not create a check engine lite and effects driving. I have not been in an accident but those could cause an accident and is very unsafe.

Shifter will not move from park. I have to use the hidden bypass push button just above park indicator to move vehicle in & out of gear. I bought this vehicle with about 141,000 miles. I noticed the under carriage was wet at time i bought it on september 16th 2021. Very slow leak. Had mechanic test transmission fluid temp and add Nissan cvt fluid. Didnt need much. Both rear interior doors have boken handles. Cables broke free of internal handle. Transmission starting to hesitate or lose power on mostly heavy acceleration. Acceleration pause for moment. Sometimes a few times within 5-7 seconds when attempt to excelerate at full throttle when heavy acceleration. Getting worse. Happening at slower speeds. Hood shakes on highway. Needs reinforced. So far caused no accidents.

I noticed a leak under my car with fresh fluid. It took me months to figure out where it was coming from. I removed the undercover where the bumper is and saw the leaking coming from the transmission oil cooler hose at the elbow connection. I looked online and noticed this exact recall: 2013 PATHFINDER; CVT FLUID LEAK AT COOLER HOSE For some odd reason my VIN was not listed under the recall. Looks like I have to fix Nissan’s issue out of my own pocket

I was driving down the road and the car wouldn’t shift into second gear. The speed limit was 35 mph and my car would only go 20 mph. I couldn’t drive home safely, no warning lights came on or anything. Dealership said my CVT transmission needs to be replaced. This sudden drop in speed became a hazard for me and my passenger.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER (NISSAN OF QUEENS 93-25 ROCKAWAY BLVD, OZONE PARK, NY 11417; (718) 835-8300) AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEY WERE UNABLE TO IDENTIFY THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. THEN ABOUT 2 MONTHS AFTER, WHILE STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN THEY ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE BUT THE ENGINE BEGAN TO REV UP WITHOUT ACCELERATING. THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO AGGRESSIVELY SHAKE AND ALL THE EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR LIGHTS BEGAN TO ILLUMINATE. THE CONTACT HAD TURNED OFF THE VEHICLE AND HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER MENTIONED ABOVE WHERE THEY WERE UNABLE TO IDENTIFY THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE HAD OCCURRED AGAIN AND DURING THE MOST RECENT FAILURE THE CONTACT HAD TO PRESS THE EMERGENCY BRAKES AT THE SAME TIME OF THE BRAKE PEDAL TO TURN OFF THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED BACK TO THE DEALER MENTIONED ABOVE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOW INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 21V020000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING) HOWEVER THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED UNDER THE RECALL AS OF YET. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF ALL THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 37,000.

THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE CVT AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION. I REPORTED THE PROBLEM WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT THE CAR FROM CARMAX AND WAS SENT TO NISSAN FOR A RESET. NO ISSUE WAS FOUND AT THAT TIME. THE CAR IS SHUTTERING AND STALLING OUT WHILE I AM DRIVING FULL SPEED. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON THE INTERSTATE/FREEWAY AS WELL AS OTHER BUSY ROADS LEAVING MYSELF AND MY CHILD STRANDED AND IN NEAR ACCIDENTS. NISSAN REFUSES TO HELP WITH THIS PART. IT SHOULD 100% BE A RECALL. INSTEAD, NISSAN ISSUED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT I WAS NOT NOTIFIED ABOUT AND EXPIRED TWO WEEKS, JULY 31, 2020 BEFORE I CONTACTED NISSAN WITH THE WORSENING ISSUE. THEY WOULD NOT HONOR THE EXTENDED WARRANTY BECAUSE MY CAR HAD 98,000 MILES INSTEAD OF 80,000/ I HAVE ONLY HAD THE CAR FOUR YEARS, I AM FINANCIALLY STRUGGLING BECAUSE OF THE PANDEMIC, AND MAKING PAYMENTS ON A CAR THAT I CANNOT DRIVE. THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT NISSAN'S FAULTY CVT TRANSMISSIONS. PLEASE HELP!!!!! THIS STARTED AGAIN TWO WEEKS INTO AUGUST WHEN I INITIALLY CONTACTED NISSAN. THE DEALER COULDN'T TRACE THE ISSUE AFTER PERFORMING STANDARD DIAGNOSTICS. THIS ISSUE IS HAPPENING VERY FREQUENTLY, WITH NO REMEDIATION OR RESOLUTION BY DEALERS. THIS SAME VEHICLE HAS BRAKELIGHT ISSUES. THE BRAKELIGHTS STAY EVEN THOUGH NO BRAKES ARE IN USE AND/OR VEHICLE IS PARKED. THE BRAKE AND ACCELERATION HAS TO BE PRESSED FRUSTRATING NUMBER OF TIMES BEFORE THEY TURN-OFF. THIS ISSUE MAY POTENTIALLY CAUSE ON-ROAD ACCIDENT RISK OR DRAIN THE BATTERY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ENGINE SENSOR WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING REPAIRED, BUT NOT THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. I AM REPORTING THIS AFTER READING HOW COMMON THIS ISSUE IS IN 2013-2017 NISSAN PATHFINDERS AND THE RATES DEALERS ARE CHARGING FOR THE REPAIR. I SAW ONLINE THAT DEALERS CHARGE $850.00 TO 1250.00. MY LOCAL DEALER CHARGES $980.00 PLUS TAX. I PAID $176.00 FOR THE PART AND IT TOOK ME UNDER 90 MINUTES TO INSTALL AFTER WATCHING A YOUTUBE VIDEO. THIS WAS A REPAIR ANYONE COULD DO THAT DIDN'T MIND A LITTLE GRIME ON THEIR HANDS. SOUNDS EXACTLY LIKE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V142000 CALLED NISSAN ABOUT THIS AND THEY SAID THEY REFUSE TO HONOR IT BECAUSE MY VIN SHOWS IT WAS MANUFACTURED AT A DIFFERENT PLANT THAN THE ONE SHOWN EXPERIENCING ISSUES.

NEXT DAY WHILE MAKIG A LEFT TURN AT 10 MPH THRU AN INTERSECTION FROM A STOP LIGHT, SAME EXACT THING HAPPENED. GOT TO SIDE OF ROAD, CAR REFUSED TO GO FORWARD. WORKS IN REVERSE BUT NOT FORWARD. TOWED TO SHOP WHERE NEW TRANSMISSION WAS FOUND TO BE THE ONLY FIX. VEHICLE HAS ONLY 112K MILES.

THE CONTACT COASTED THE VEHICLE TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND POWERED OFF THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND THE ENGINE BEGAN TO OVERHEAT. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE AND LATER TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE RADIATOR FAN MOTOR ASSEMBLY FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 57,212.

VEHICLE RADIATOR COOLING FAN IS MAKING A VERY LOUD NOISE. AFTER SOME INVESTIGATION I'VE CONCLUDED THAT THERE IS A BAD BUSHING/BEARING IN 1 OF THE 2 FANS OF THE DUAL RADIATOR (DRIVERS SIDE). THE NOISE IS DUE TO THE FAN WOBBLING WHILE RUNNING UP TO 1/4 INCH OR SO. I HAVE CALLED THE DEALER TO SCHEDULE A REPAIR AND WAS TOLD THAT THIS PART IS ON NATIONAL BACKORDER WHICH TELLS ME THAT THIS IS A VERY COMMON ISSUE. I HAVE PRICED ONE AT A PARTS STORE AND WAS QUOTED ~$800. THIS ISSUE IF LEFT UNCHECKED NOT ONLY IS VERY NOISY, BUT COULD LEAD TO CATASTROPHIC ENGINE DAMAGE AS THIS IS WHAT COOLS THE FLUID THAT COOLS THE ENGINE. I HAVE ALSO FOUND COMPLAINTS ONLINE OF OTHERS THAT HAVE THE SAME SPECIFIC ISSUE WITH THE SAME VEHICLE MODELS. THIS IS OCCURRING WHILE VEHICLE IS IN PARK IDLING AS WELL AS WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD.

NISSAN PATHFINDER 2013 REVS ENGINE AND JERKS VEHICLE WHILE FIRMLY PRESSING BRAKE (AT A STOP LIGHT). AT FIRST, I THOUGHT IT WAS JUST THE WIND, BUT IT KEPT HAPPENING FOR WEEKS. THEN I NOTICED THE RPMS JUMP WHEN IT HAPPENED. FURTHERMORE, THE VEHICLE WOULD SLOWLY ROLL FORWARD IF STOPPED ON A HILL, REQUIRING PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL ALL OF THE WAY TO THE FLOOR. JUST YESTERDAY, IT REVVED AND JERKED ABOUT A DOZEN TIMES. THE ONE THING THAT HAS BEEN HAPPENING IS THE CAR FEELS LIKE IT'S GOING TO STALL. I WILL BE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD OR ON THE HIGHWAY AND IT FEELS LIKE IT IS IN NEUTRAL ALL OF THE SUDDEN. I WILL PRESS THE GAS PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND NOTHING. WHEN TURNING INTO TRAFFIC OR JUST TURNING PERIOD, IT DOES THE SAME THING. IT IS VERY SCARY. IT WAS SLOWLY ROLLING BUT NOT ACCELERATING AS I CROSSED OVER THE ON-COMING LANE AND CONTINUED WITH MY LEFT TURN. THE TIME PRIOR TO THAT I WAS CHANGING LANES ON THE HIGHWAY (INFRONT OF A LARGE TRUCK) AT ABOUT 50 MPH AND WHEN I WENT TO ACCELERATE, I GOT THE SAME FEELING. I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED! THE TIME PRIOR TO THAT, I HAD BEEN AT A RED LIGHT. WHEN THE LIGHT CHANGED, I CROSSED OVER THE FIRST SECTION OF THE RED LIGHT THEN TURNED LEFT AND ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE BUT IT (AGAIN) FELT LIKE I HAD THROWN IT INTO NEUTRAL. I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD FOR A SECOND TO LET OTHER CARS PASS IN CASE IT STALLED ON ME. THE FIRST TIME WAS JUST WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH MY PATHFINDER THAT I SEE SEVERAL PEOPLE HAVING. THE SHUDDERING IS LIKE THE TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING AND IT HAS HAPPENED IN VARIOUS SITUATIONS. IT IS NOT A SIDEWAYS SHUDDER LIKE A SHAKE, IT IS A LACK OF FORWARD MOTION (WHILE THE ENGINE REVS TO HIGHER RPMS) SO SEVERE THAT IT FEELS LIKE BEING REAR ENDED AND HAS NEARLY SLAMMED ME INTO THE STEERING WHEEL MORE THAN ONCE. I CALLED NISSAN DEALERSHIPS, SPOKE WITH SERVICE MANAGERS AND THEY STATED THAT NISSAN IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WORKING ON ISSUING A RECALL. OCT 2013 MY VEHICLE WAS BACK IN FOR THE SAME ISSUE. THIS TIME NISSAN REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION. NOV 2013 BACK TO THE DEALER FOR SAME ISSUE, WAS TOLD A SOFTWARE UPDATE WAS JUST RELEASED FOR A COMPUTER UPGRADE FOR THE TRANSMISSION. PROBLEM STILL EXISTED. RETURNED A 4TH TIME IN DEC 2013 AND WAS TOLD I MUST HAVE BEEN SPINNING MY WHEELS IN THE SNOW, NO PROBLEMS WERE FOUND. IN ADDITION TO THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS, THE ROOF STARTED LEAKING AND THE WATER RAN BEHIND THE DASHBOARD. A GASKET NEEDED TO BE REPLACED, SHORTLY AFTER I BEGAN TO HAVE ELECTRONIC ISSUES WITH WIPERS, VOLUME CONTROL FOR BLUETOOTH, RADIO. SOME TYPE OF MODULE WAS REPLACED THIS TOOK TWO RETURN TRIPS BEFORE A PROBLEMS WAS FOUND. AGAIN WITHIN A MONTH THESE ELECTRICAL ISSUES RETURNED. ON MONDAY 3/24 THE TRANSMISSION ONCE AGAIN FAILED AS I WAS MAKING A LEFT TURN FROM A STOP. WITH THIS INCIDENT I WAS ALMOST KILLED BY A TRACTOR TRAILER BECAUSE I WAS STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION AND COULD NOT GET THE VEHICLE TO MOVE. LUCKILY THE TRUCK WAS ABLE TO SWERVE BEHIND ME A THE LAST MOMENT TO AVOID THE COLLISION. RESTARTING THE CAR SEVERAL TIMES CLEARED THE PROBLEM AND WAS IMMEDIATELY TOOK IT BACK TO MY DEALERSHIP. I EXPLAINED EVERYTHING THAT HAS BEEN HAPPENING WITH MY VEHICLE SINCE PURCHASED IN AUG 2013, 33 DAYS OF SERVICE SO FAR AND NO RESOLUTION. THE FIX WAS A TORQUE CONVERTER FOR THE CVT BUT THE PARTS WERE ON BACK ORDER WITH NO KNOWN ETA. IN LATE SEPTEMBER THEY CALLED SAYING THEY HAD THE PART AND TOLD ME TO BRING IT IN FOR THE REPAIR. WHEN I CAME FOR MY SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT A COUPLE DAYS LATER THEY TURNED ME AWAY STATING THE TORQUE CONVERTER WAS FOUND NOT TO FIX THE PROBLEM AND THEY NEEDED TO COMPLETELY REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. WE HAVE EXPERIENCED INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS WITH THE VEHICLE SHAKING OR VIBRATING WHILE ACCELERATING OR DECELERATING, WITH TEMPORARY LOSS OF POWER AT LOW SPEED 10-20 MPH. THIS HAS OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES, EVEN AFTER THE RECALL REPROGRAM WAS DONE. THE MOST RECENT OCCURRENCE HAPPENED TWICE MAY 17, 2013, TEN DAYS AFTER PICKING IT UP FROM THE DEALERSHIP AFTER THEY DROVE IT FOR 300 MILES AND DID NOT DUPLICATE THE ISSUE. WE WERE TOLD THAT THE RECALL WAS TO ADDRESS THE SHAKING ISSUES WITH THE VEHICLE AND WOULD BE CORRECTED BY REPROGRAMMING THE COMPUTER (WHICH WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE ALREADY BEEN DONE) AND IT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. I PICKED IT UP AND LITERALLY TURNED AROUND BECAUSE IT WAS DOING THE EXACT SAME THING EXCEPT THIS TIME AS I TOOK MY FOOT OF THE PEDAL THE VEHICLE DID NOT DECELERATE AND CONTINUED TO DRIVE AT 60MPH WITHOUT ME PRESSING THE GAS UNTIL I HIT THE BRAKE IT STARTED TO SLOW DOWN, THANK GOD, ALL WHILE MY BABY IS IN THE CAR WITH ME. SINCE THEN IT HAS BEEN AT THE DEALERSHIP WHICH DOES NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO NOW AND I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH NISSAN EXPRESSING MY CONCERN FOR THE VEHICLES SAFETY, AND THE FACT IT IS BRAND NEW A MONTH OLD CAR AND THE ONLY THING THAT I'M BEING TOLD IS THAT THEY ARE SENDING A TECH FROM NISSAN AND THEY'RE REALLY SORRY ABOUT MY TROUBLE. SO NOW THE CAR JUST SITS AT THE DEALERSHIP GOING ON A MONTH AND NEITHER ONE I FEEL HAS BEEN REALLY CONCERNED WITH TRYING TO FIX THE VEHICLE IN A TIMELY MANNER OR WORRIED ON THE SAFETY OF IT. I AM TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE WAY THE DEALERSHIP AND NISSAN HAVE HANDLED THE SITUATION. SO MUCH FOR THEM BEING CONCERNED ABOUT THE WELL BEING AND SAFETY OF THEIR PASSENGERS. *TR

DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY @55MPH THE ENGINE BEGAN TO REV FROM LOW TO VERY HIGH RPMS. ALL OF A SUDDEN CABIN BEGAN TO FILL WITH SMOKE AND LOST COMPLETE POWER TO DRIVE TRAIN. MOVE TO THE SIDE OF ROAD AND AVOIDED A HUGE ACCIDENT WITH 2 CHILDREN ON BOARD. *TR

AFTER FUELING MY BRAND NEW VEHICLE FOR THE FIRST TIME, I HEADED OUT AND NOTICED SMOKE AROUND MY VEHICLE. A NEIGHBORING VEHICLE MOTIONED FOR ME TO ROLL DOWN MY WINDOW AND SAID I HAD FLUID THAT LOOKED LIKE ANTI FREEZE POURING OUT FROM BENEATH MY 2013 PATHFINDER. I TRIED TO PULL OVER BUT THE SUV WOULD NO LONGER ACCELERATE FORWARD AND I WAS STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WITH MY CHILDREN. NOT KNOWING WHY MY VEHICLE WAS SMOKING, I CONTACTED THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. SOME PEOPLE STOPPED TO HELP AND PUSH THE VEHICLE FROM THE STREET. THE FIRE DEPARTMENT ARRIVED AND THE DEALERSHIP WAS CONTACTED. A TOWING COMPANY WAS SENT OUT. I WAS TOLD THE TOWING COMPANY'S HAVE BEEN TOWING THESE BRAND NEW VEHICLES ALOT, SOME THAT WERE DRIVEN OFF THE LOT AND HAD TO BE TOWED. AFTER RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE, I FOUND THERE ARE SEVERAL PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE AND THIS ISSUE WAS UNDER A LAW SUIT FOR THE 2005-2010 MODEL PATHFINDERS. IT DOESN'T LOOK LIKE NISSAN HAS RESOLVED THE ISSUE JUST YET. *TR

MY WIFE WAS DRIVING OUR TWO WEEK OLD 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER PLATINUM EDITION WITH MY FOUR YEAR OLD DAUGHTER WHEN THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND THE VEHICLE BECAME DISABLED. THE TRANSMISSION COMPLETELY FAILED AND THE CAR HAD TO BE TOWED TO THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALER. I WAS TOLD TODAY THAT THE COOLANT LINE BURST AND THAT THE TRANSMISSION FLUID LEAKED FROM THE VEHICLE. AS A "PRECAUTION" THEY WILL BE REPLACING THE RADIATOR, TRANSMISSION LINE (S), AS WELL AS THE TRANSMISSION ON THE VEHICLE BEFORE RETURNING IT TO US. THE DEALER CLAIMS THAT THE TRANSMISSION AND RADIATOR DID NOT GET AFFECTED BUY THE INCIDENT AND THAT THEY ARE REPLACING THOSE PARTS AS A PRECAUTIONARY MEASURE. I HAVE DONE SOME RESEARCH ONLINE AND LEARNED THAT A NUMBER OF OTHER 2013 PATHFINDERS HAVE SUFFERED FROM THE SAME CATASTROPHIC ISSUE. I ALSO LEARNED THAT PREVIOUS GENERATIONS OF THE PATHFINDER HAD SIMILAR ISSUES WHICH NISSAN WAS VERY SLOW TO ACKNOWLEDGE. WHEN A VEHICLE THAT IS TRAVELING AT A MODERATE TO HIGH RATE OF SPEED LOOSES TRANSMISSION THE DRIVER BECOMES AT RISK FOR A MAJOR ACCIDENT. THE VEHICLE CANNOT BE DRIVEN AND IN OUR CASE MY WIFE WAS SAVED BY A AAA EMPLOYEE WHO WAS KIND ENOUGH TO PUSH HER CAR OUT OF THE WAY OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THESE CARS NEED TO BE RECALLED IMMEDIATELY BEFORE SOMEONE GETS KILLED. IF YOU ARE READING THIS AND YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO DRIVES THIS VEHICLE PLEASE TELL THEM TO TAKE IT TO THEIR NISSAN SERVICE DEPARTMENT IMMEDIATELY. I AM CONVINCED THIS IS GOING TO REQUIRE A RECALL.
