When I push on break it doesn’t engage to Release car from park.
The transmission appears to be failing. When accelerating, the RPM increases but the vehicle speed does not respond immediately, creating a slipping and jerking effect. The vehicle is available for inspection if requested. The vehicle hesitates and jerks when accelerating, especially when merging into traffic or driving at highway speeds, which creates a risk of collision due to the loss of proper acceleration. The front tires also shake unexpectedly, making it difficult to maintain control of the vehicle. The issue is known and widely reported for this model year. Similar symptoms have been documented as transmission failures in 2013 Nissan Pathfinders. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by Nissan for this issue. No warning lights appeared. The symptoms started gradually with hesitation when accelerating and have worsened over time to frequent slipping, jerking, and tire shaking while driving.
My 2013 Pathfinder keeps shuddering and jerking and swerving while driving
In January I took my car to the dealership to repair my recalls and I complained about my car juddering jerking and stalling they told me I need a new transmission. I paid for transmission and install the car is still serving and stalling and juddeing I looked up transmission problems it shows all nissan pathfinder has a recall on cvt . Is mine included in this recall or am I needing yet another transmission
vehicle does not accelerates properly after a left turn it starts jerking violently and it correct itself after a few minutes or it can jerk repeatedly before correcting. After awhile the brake-shift interlock started not working properly by getting stock in the parking position making it shift to the drive position.
There is a recall on the make, model and year of my vehicle but the vin says that my vehicle is not affected yet that is the only thing wrong with my vehicle. It leaks all of its transmission fluid within 10 mins of driving it. I have contacted the dealer but the dealer is over an hour away and they said that since my vehicle isn't apart of the recall they will not fix the problem even though they said that is exactly what is wrong with my vehicle and I would have to buy an entirely new transmission from them if I was to take it in to get it fixed. This is the recall information that they say is the problem in my vehicle but the VIN states it is not apart of. NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID: 14V142000 Report Date: MAR 26, 2014 Nissan North America (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2013 Pathfinder vehicles manufactured April 18, 2012, through October 3, 2012, and equipped with a continuously variable transmission (CVT). In the affected vehicles, the internal oil cooler (ITOC) hose may detach from the cooler due to inadequate clamping force, allowing transmission fluid to leak.
Interior door handle failure. The handle component of the interior door handle which retains the actuator cable frequently breaks resulting in an inability to open the door from inside the vehicle. I have replaced four of these on my vehicle in the 5 years I have owned it. The drivers door has been repaired twice. The component is plastic and obviously not made sturdy enough or made of appropriate material to withstand normal use. Failure of this component results in the inability to open the door from inside the vehicle, posing a safety concern should a passenger need to exit the vehicle in an emergency situation. Had I only experienced this issue once, I would not be gravely concerned, but this component is failing too frequently to just ignore. Numerous online forums also show this to be a frequent problem in all Nissan vehicles with this type door handle. At this point, I feel Nisan should redesign the door handle with a more sturdy and structurally sound design that can hold up to normal use.and should recall and replace the door handles of all Nissan vehicles that use this particular door handle.
Both the front and back cradles are bad. The back ones snapped in pieces. They should not have gone bad there is no rust on my car.
The front subframe is almost rusted through and could break. This is similar to the 2002-2005 Altima, for which Nissan issued an extended warranty. If the subframe fails, it will cause a massive risk.

The subframe on 2013 Nissan Pathfinder was completely broken from rot. I brought it to a shop because it was pulling to the left and making a clanking noise. I was told this is a common problem with 2013 Nissan’s. Car started pulling to the left about a month ago. Car was inspected about 2 weeks ago. After doing research it was learned that the 2013 pathfinders were never sprayed properly with some kind of rust protection. The pathfinder made a newly designed model for 2013 and never properly sprayed it. There are multiple places you can find others with 2013 pathfinder’s that have rusted out in the same area once the car get to about 140000 miles. Mine is just over 140000 miles
The sunroof exploded while the car was in motion. There was a loud boom distracting me while I was driving, in addition to glass falling on me and around my car putting me in danger. Glass also landed in the street, putting the safety of others at risk. There are remnants of shattered glass in my car and where the sunroof used to be. There were no warning lights or messages prior to the issue. The problem has not yet been confirmed or inspected by any of the above. Most of the glass flew out of the car, meaning that the sunroof was not hit by a foreign object.
When Accelerating from a stop, or increasing speed from a turn, the car sputters, power fluctuates, and sometimes it vibrates and feels like I am driving over a grid. The car sometimes feels like it's going to stall. I have owned this car for 10 years and this problem has been ongoing. It has been happening alot more recently. I have not been in an accident but I feel very unsafe when this happens and afraid it could cause an accident. I have been told it could be a known CVT issue but in the past, Nissan dealers always dismissed my complaints about the issue. No warning lamps or messages have ever appeared regarding this.
The transmission causes my car to stutter when accelerating or decelerating at low speeds. It's dangerous as you are trying to merge into traffic or pass other cars. I've taken it to my dealer who said that they see this all the time with Nissans. I have also taken it to a transmission repair shop who said it's a common problem with Nissans and that it will have to be replaced for $5500 to correct it.
My hatch want go up took it to Andy Mohr Dealer ship and diagnostic were perform and they still couldn't come up a solution to get my hatch to work properly
My daugther and myself were sitting at a stop light and the car would not move forward or backward. All of the transmission fluid was on the ground. I had to call the police for safety from being hit. I had the truck towed home.
The gas pedel is not responding. It goes down to the floor and nothing happens. I experienced this pulling out into traffic. I hit it several times to get it going. I made it to the turning lane. It kicked in. I turned out of the turning lane onto my street and it stopped working again. I made it home where it sits. I am terrified. This is danger to everyone around me.
Hood latch failed. Yes, available for inspection upon request. Hood opened, hit and then shattered windshield while driving on busy road. Received recall notice from Nissan about faulty hood latch. Service tech at window repair company noted good safety latch looked very loose. Was looked at by the window repair/replacement company. No warning at all.
Sun visor problem. Sun visor made within poor quality plastic. Plastic retainer broken now sun visor will not stay up. This is causing a vision problem when visor just drops into line of vision.
Shifter will not move from park. I have to use the hidden bypass push button just above park indicator to move vehicle in & out of gear. I bought this vehicle with about 141,000 miles. I noticed the under carriage was wet at time i bought it on september 16th 2021. Very slow leak. Had mechanic test transmission fluid temp and add Nissan cvt fluid. Didnt need much. Both rear interior doors have boken handles. Cables broke free of internal handle. Transmission starting to hesitate or lose power on mostly heavy acceleration. Acceleration pause for moment. Sometimes a few times within 5-7 seconds when attempt to excelerate at full throttle when heavy acceleration. Getting worse. Happening at slower speeds. Hood shakes on highway. Needs reinforced. So far caused no accidents.
Brake lights will not turn off when engine is off. Sometimes car starts without depressing brake pedal
Vehicle gets stuck in park. The gear will not shift into drive, reverse, or neutral. Will not move from park even though the car is on. Brake lights deploy when brake pedal is pushed but car will not move from park position.

In the course of 1.5 yrs I have had issues with my transmission. I had to replace my transmission last June, only for the transmission to go out again in the beginning of Aug. now it’s been less than a year and my car transmission gave out again in July. This will be transmission number 4 with in 1.5 years. This last time I was turning into my friends house and the car would not go into the driveway, instead it lost power and rolled back down the street. Luckily my friend lives on a not so busy road and I avoided getting hit. I had the car towed to a Nissan dealership and they confirmed once again that it was indeed the transmission once again. This can not be normal in any way for a transmission to give out in a car that quickly. This is very dangerous.

THE PATHFINDER WAS RECALLED DUE TO TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. WHEN I HEARD ABOUT THE SETTLEMENT HAD BEEN SETTLED. SO I CALLED THE COMPANY DIRECTLY AND FOUND OUT THAT THE PATHFINDER HAD NOT EVER BEEN CHANGED FROM THE PREVIOUS OWNER. SO NO ONE WANTED TO HELP ME. SO WE HAD TAKEN THE PATHFINDER IN BEFORE I KNEW OF THE RECALL DUE TO TRANSMISSION LEAKING. HAD PURCHASED EXTENDED WARRANTY THEY REFUSED TO REPAIR THE TRANSMISSION. SO LAST MONTH I HAD TO COME UP WITH MONEY TO HAVE A TRANSMISSION PUT IN. BECAUSE IT WAS STUCK IN PARK AND DRIVE. NO TAKE IN CONSIDERATION I HAD CONTACTED NISSAN DIRECTLY AND THEY REFUSED TO DO ANYTHING AND KNEW THIS YEAR HAD JUST SETTLED A CIVIL LAWSUIT. SO I NEED HELP WITH BEING REIMBURSED BY NISSAN. NONE OF THE TIMES WERE FROM SNOW FROM THE TOP OF MY VEHICLE. I HAD CLEARED THAT OFF BEFORE DRIVING.

IT EVENTUALLY BROKE ALL THE WAY AND THE DRIVER SIDE VISOR CANNOT BE USED AT ALL AND IS BEING HELD UP BY A BUNGEE CORD!! I CANNOT USE THIS VISOR WHILE DRIVING AND IT IS A HAZARD!! NISSAN SERVICE CANNOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CAR IN TIME OF WRITING. IT DID NOT HAVE ANY ENGINE LIGHTS OR WARNINGS. VEHICLE HAS CURRENTLY HAVE 52983 MILES. THE FIRST TWO EVENTS WERE IN A HIGHWAY DRIVING AND THE RECENT TWO ARE IN A LOCAL ROAD. ALL HAPPENED IN DRY AND WARM CONDITIONS.

OURS STARTED BY MAKING A LOUD "CLICKING" NOISE, BEFORE LOSING THE CAPABILITY TO STAY EITHER UP OR DOWN. THEY HANG DOWN. WE HAVE SLAMMED OUR FOREHEADS INTO THE ROCK HARD VISOR EDGES WHEN SIMPLY GETTING INTO THE CAR OR IF THERE IS A QUICK STOP. ON 08/16/2016 I PURCHASED A MOTOR VEHICLE FROM STAR NISSAN LOCATED AT 5757 W. TOUHY AVE., NILES, IL 60714 (2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER SUV VIN). ON OCTOBER OF 2016 I WAS DRIVING IN THE EXPRESS WAY GOING 60MPH AND MY VEHICLE SUDDENLY STOPPED ACCELERATING AND CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP WHILE I HAD OTHER VEHICLE PASSING ME BY AT 60+ MPH. I HAD TO PULL TO THE SIDE TO AVOID GETTING HIT IN THE REAR. THE VEHICLE FINALLY TOOK OFF BUT NOT WITHOUT JERKING AND RATTLING NOISES. I IMMEDIATELY CAME OFF THE EXPRESS WAY. THEY GAVE ME THE VEHICLE BACK ON 07/06/2017. MY VEHICLE WAS ADMITTED AGAIN ON 07/25/2017 WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS. THE TECHNICIAN HAD TO DRIVE MY VEHICLE 344 MILES TO REPLICATE THE SYMPTOMS ONCE AGAIN. HOWEVER MY VEHICLE WAS ADMITTED UNTIL 08/17/2017. THE NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS OFFICE SENT OUT AN ENGINEER WHO MADE RECOMMENDATIONS. THE RECOMMENDATION WAS TO REMOVE BRAKE LIGHT RELAY AND REPLACE BRAKE SWITCH. I WAS GIVEN THE VEHICLE BACK AND THE PROBLEMS HAS PERSIST. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD AS IT OBSTRUCTS THE VIEW OF THE DRIVER. THIS HAPPENS TO BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDES AND OBSTRUCTS VISION WHEN EITHER SIDE HAS FAILED.

THE ONLY WAY TO OPEN THE VEHICLE WAS TO LOWER THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDOW AND REACH OUTSIDE TO THE EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE. THIS LENGTHENED THE TIME AND EFFORT SIGNIFICANTLY IN EXITING THE VEHICLE. THE HANDLE MECHANISM BROKE INSIDE THE DOOR PANEL AND OCCURRED DURING REGULAR EXIT OF THE VEHICLE MAKING IT UNUSABLE UNTIL REPLACED BY NISSAN AT MY COST. NISSAN DID COVER THE PART AS A WARRANTY REPAIR.

I CALLED THE DEALER SECOND TIME ONE WEEK AFTER THE FIRST TIME. THEY TOLD ME THE SAME ANSWER. I RECEIVED THE SECOND RECALL TODAY 7/30/2016 WITH DIFFERENT PROBLEM. THE RECALL NUMBER NHTSA RECALL 16V-380. I CALLED THE NISSAN DEALER RIGHT AFTER I RECEIVED THE SECOND RECALL. THEY TOLD ME THERE IS NO PART TO FIX THE PROBLEM. I AM REALLY CONCERN AND WORRY ABOUT THESE. THE SECOND RECALL IS REGARDING ABOUT "THE BRAKE STOP LAMP SWITCH MAY HAVE BEEN INSTALLED OUT OF SPECIFICATION". MY PATHFINDER IS PREOWNED BY A LEASING COMPANY BUT I HAVE NOTICED FOR THE LAST YEAR THAT THE ENGINE SHUDDERS DURING ACCELERATION ON THE HIGHWAY AND/OR INCREASING MORE OFTEN ON ROADS WHEN I'M GOING TO ACCELERATE. I LET UP ON ACCELERATION AND THEN CONTINUE TO GET IT TO A DIFFERENT SPEED THEN PUSH ON THE ACCELERATOR AND TYPICALLY IT RESOLVES ITSELF BUT COULD BE VERY UNSAFE, ESPECIALLY SINCE IT APPEARS TO BE AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH OTHERS AS WELL. MY INTERIOR PASSENGER DOOR HANDLE ALSO BROKE (OTHER COMPLAINTS ON HERE REGARDING DRIVER SIDE). THE DOOR HANDLE SIMPLY QUIT WORKING AND APPEARS TO HAVE NO RESISTANCE. THE ONE THING THAT HAS BEEN HAPPENING IS THE CAR FEELS LIKE IT'S GOING TO STALL. I WILL BE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD OR ON THE HIGHWAY AND IT FEELS LIKE IT IS IN NEUTRAL ALL OF THE SUDDEN. I WILL PRESS THE GAS PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR AND NOTHING. WHEN TURNING INTO TRAFFIC OR JUST TURNING PERIOD, IT DOES THE SAME THING. IT IS VERY SCARY. I HAVE 2 YOUNG CHILDREN AND THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS. I HAVE REPORTED THE PROBLEM NUMEROUS TIMES TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO CLAIMS THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM OR DID NOT NOTICE ANY PROBLEMS I WAS DESCRIBING. THEN THE ABS & VDC LIGHTS TURNED ON. WHEN I GOT HOME I TURNED THE CAR OFF AND TURNED IT BACK ON AND THE LIGHTS WERE NO LONGER ON. NEXT TIME I TRIED THE CRUISE CONTROL IT WORKED. ANOTHER THING THAT HAS BEEN HAPPENING IS MY BRAKE LIGHTS WILL STAY ON WHEN THE CAR IS TURNED OFF, NOT EVERY TIME BUT MANY TIMES AND THERE HAVE BEEN TIMES I DIDN'T CATCH IT. BEFORE TRYING TO JUMP-START MY BATTERY, WITH THE VEHICLE OFF, THERE WAS A CLICKING SOUND COMING FROM THE FAR RIGHT OF THE ENGINE. WE WERE ABLE TO JUMP START MY CAR AND IT HAS BEEN WORKING FINE TODAY SO FAR BUT I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT AT THE DEALER, YET AGAIN, FOR THESE ISSUES.
WHILE PARKED THE FRONT WINDSHIELD CRACKED FROM UNDERNEATH THE BOTTOM PASSENGER SEAL. OVER THE NEXT DAY, EVERY TIME THE CAR WAS STOPPED AFTER DRIVING, THE CRACK SPREAD SIGNIFICANTLY. WHEN I REPLACED THE WINDSHIELD, NOT COVERED BY NISSAN'S 3 YEAR-36,000 MILE WARRANTY- I FOUND OUT THE WINDSHIELD WAS DEFECTIVE AND THIS HAPPENS A LOT WITH NISSANS. PLEASE INVESTIGATE.

I TOOK NOTE OF THE LATEST ONE TODAY. I WAS STOPPED (ON A MAJOR STREET) WAITING FOR ONCOMING TRAFFIC TO PASS. IT DID, AND I ACCELERATED TO TURN LEFT AND THE CAR FELT LIKE I HAD PUT IT IN NEUTRAL. IT WAS SLOWLY ROLLING BUT NOT ACCELERATING AS I CROSSED OVER THE ON-COMING LANE AND CONTINUED WITH MY LEFT TURN. I CHECK TO SEE IF IT WAS IN DRIVE (IT WAS) AND CHECKED THE SPEED (20MPH) BECAUSE I HAD BROUGHT IT IN LAST WEEK WHEN IT DID IT THE FIRST THREE TIMES, AND THEY ASKED ME WHAT SPEED I WAS GOING WHEN IT HAPPENED. THE TIME PRIOR TO THAT I WAS CHANGING LANES ON THE HIGHWAY (INFRONT OF A LARGE TRUCK) AT ABOUT 50 MPH AND WHEN I WENT TO ACCELERATE, I GOT THE SAME FEELING. I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED! THE TIME PRIOR TO THAT, I HAD BEEN AT A RED LIGHT. WHEN THE LIGHT CHANGED, I CROSSED OVER THE FIRST SECTION OF THE RED LIGHT THEN TURNED LEFT AND ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE BUT IT (AGAIN) FELT LIKE I HAD THROWN IT INTO NEUTRAL. I PULLED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD FOR A SECOND TO LET OTHER CARS PASS IN CASE IT STALLED ON ME. THE FIRST TIME WAS JUST WHEN DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. THIS HAS ME EXTREMELY SCARED AS IN TWO OF THE SITUATIONS, I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED IF I COULDN'T ACCELERATE TO MOVE AND A CAR PLOWED INTO ME.

THEY CALLED ME 2 WEEKS LATER TO COME GET MY VEHICLE. WITHIN THE FIRST DAY HAVING IT BACK IT WAS SHACKING EVEN WORSE LIKE IT WAS GOING TO CUT OFF. IT SCARED ME. I CALLED DEALERSHIP AGAIN THEY CAME AND PICKED UP THE VEHICLE. AFTER THE DEALERSHIP HAD MY VEHICLE FOR SEVERAL WEEKS THEY TOLD ME THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. THE 2013 NISSAN PATHFINDER'S WERE REPORTING ISSUES WITH THEM AND I WAS TOLD I WASN'T THE ONLY OWNER GOING THROUGH THIS PROBLEM. I SHOULD CALL THE CORPORATE NISSAN OFFICE AND START A CLAIM. I DID SO THAT DAY. I GOT A CALL SAYING MY CAR WAS READY AND THEY WOULD DROP IT OFF TO ME. AFTER TWO DAYS OF HAVING MY VEHICLE I HAD PROBLEM'S ONCE AGAIN. I WAS DRIVING UP ONTO MY DRIVEWAY AND THERE WAS A INCLINE. MY ENGINE MADE THE NOISE LIKE IT WAS REARING UP I TRIED IT 3 TIMES PUSHING DOWN ON THE GAS PEDAL AND STILL NOTHING. SO, I PUT IT IN PARK AND CALLED THE DEALERSHIP THE NEXT BUSINESS DAY, THEY TEST DROVE IT AND FOUND NO PROBLEM'S WITH IT. MEANWHILE I HAD A OPEN CASE WITH NISSAN TO TRY AND BUY BACK MY VEHICLE BECAUSE I DIDN'T FEEL SAFE IN IT WITH MY 3 CHILDREN. I HEARD BACK A COUPLE DAYS AGO THAT MY REQUEST HAD BEEN DENIED. THEY HAVE OFFERED ME 2 MORE YEARS EXTENSION ON MY TRANSMISSION WARRANTY. I AM EXTREMELY DISSATISFIED. THIS WILL BE MY 3RD NISSAN OWNING AND THIS IS THE FIRST PROBLEM I HAVE EVER HAD. I AM WORRIED ABOUT THIS MATTER. I SPEND A LOT OF MONEY FOR A VEHICLE AND I EXPECT TO NOT GET A LEMON. I HAVE BEEN OUT OF MY VEHICLE SINCE JUNE 15 PRETTY MUCH.
