The problem I am having now envovles the EMC. After getting the catalytic converters replaced 2 times replacing the oxygen sensors 3 times and the manifold replaced, also a few other things that’s all connected the computer won’t acknowledge that’s the new parts have been replaced. So the engine still has a bad exhaust smell and the vehicle won’t run properly. Mechanic said I shouldn’t have a problem with the EMC but it is the problem. The problems go away once the codes are cleared but come back when the engine light comes back on. I have also noticed that a recall for the EMC for the same year vehicle but for a hybrid.
I have 2014 nissan pathfinder but every time I start a shake so my dealer told me they're is something wrong with the transmission and there's a recall for this vehicle that I should filled claim.
The rear subframe is completely rusty. The problem has been looked at by multiple independent auto repair centers. It is a safety concern as the subframe could fall apart due to the rust putting myself and others at risk while driving this vehicle. I bought this car in June of 2024 and it was a problem that was brought to my attention at that time but was rusty before that.
Pressing the gas pedal from a full stop resulted in no car accleration (aside from normal car rolling forward from taking foot off of brake) and no engine 'acceleration'. Only when I pressed hard enough did the car suddenly lurch forward/accelerate. This is very risky, as I had been making a turn I would potentially be blocking the incoming lane. In addition, after parking in a parking lot, and turning off the car, I noticed that the brake lights were still lit up.
3 of my door handles have broken once before I had taken ownership of the vehicle. Since owning the vehicle those same 3 door handles have broken again. This is a cause for concern because if you were in a motor vehicle accident you wouldn’t be able to get the doors open from the inside of the vehicle. For the past few months I have been rolling the windows down to open the door from the outside handle..
This recall has been out for 2 years now and Nissan still hasn’t come up with a way to fix it or a replacement. I’m constantly in fear driving down the highway that my hood will fly up into my windshield.
The vehicle started shuddering , a couple of days later it became worst and started losing acceleration , jerking and no shifting almost make have and accident because it didn't shift.
Hood won't latch shut.
Alternator failed, Broken Tensioner, Catalytic converters bad, Engine misfiring, Brake failure. Discovered odometer disclosure is incorrect and VIN is wrong on the inspection certification. Odometers to the best of my knowledge only move forward, not backward unless they are tampered with or the information presented is fraudulent. I could have nearly been injured fatally, when the car stopped on three separate occasions and ultimately the brakes failed. I had the car less than 1 month in my possession and out of approximately 30 days, it did not run consecutively for 7 days. This information was turned into the Virginia State Police - Office of Inspections; however, they found no fault, but this is a clear misrepresentation of vehicle identification and mileage.
I had no light come on I was driving and I was crossing an intersection when the vehicle started shaking and jerking it was going slow then it just jerked me fast while there was on coming vehicles this happened suddenly and now the car light came on a day or two later and the car will not move forward or backwards I contacted the manufacture and they said there was nothing they can do sad this day I almost wrecked 3 times I even asked if they could pay for the labor and I would buy the part because I believe this was a manufacture issue everything I have read is about people having the same issue this could have been prevented and I thank God I didn’t die I did pray the whole drive back home and I feared for my safety and my babies safety . This needs to be addressed and there needs to be a recall before people get seriously injured or lose there lives and it shouldn’t matter about how much miles the vehicle has I believe the manufacture knew about this in the beginning but if they don’t want to fix it at least sell us the parts at a decent price because it’s gonna cost more to fix it than what the car is worth
Experience judder and stall of vehicle while driving, pulling off and coming from a complete stop. Vehicle will lose power while driving which is unsafe when getting on the freeway or driving in high traffic areas. Vehicle has been taken to the Nissan twice and to other repair shops for related concern and all have stated that the trans needs replacing. There were no lights or warnings before problems started it all occurred simultaneously.
My rear lift gate sometimes closes on its own
We have experienced a second CVT failure on the vehicle. First one was on highway driving experienced significant loss power on the highway and "CVT Judder" as it has been described to me by the dealer. The condition was constant and would not allow my vehicle to accelerate and was running very high rpms and was no longer safe to drive any distance. Car was purchased Certified Used in March 2022, first bad transmission was in March 2022, failure occurred and was replaced under warranty. Then in April 2022 second CVT failure and dealer is indicating out of warranty for repair so will be at my expense $6,000+. We have had several major repairs to this vehicle both under warranty and outside- CVT replacement, rear axle, and also need catalytic converter replacement. I am attempting to contact Nissan Consumer Affairs for support but not hopeful given dealership response.

Sun visors both sides will not remain up. Had one replaced. Still not staying in position. Holding them up with rubber bands and shoe laces doesn’t allow them to be adjusted when needed for safety.
In 2017 the engine light came on and I took my car to Nissan of McKinney, Texas. They found the transmission was damaged and they claimed they replaced with another/new transmission. On November 18, 2021 the engine light came on again and I took the car to Nissan of McKinney. Michael D. Riffe at phone number 214 390 5370 or 469 877 0690 was my service agent., after inspecting the car, he told me that the transmission is bad again and I need to pay approx. $5900 before tax and labor. I reminded him that they had just changed the transmission in 2017 so I didn't understand why the 2nd transmission went bad again, he refused to help repair/replace the transmission even though they claimed to have installed a new transmission in 2017. Michael told me since I had added miles on the car they can't replace the transmission and I will need to pay approx. $5900 before tax for it to be replaced. Nissan of McKinney is deceptive, I feel like I was robbed and Nissan of McKinney lied in 2017 when they claimed that they had replaced the transmission because a transmission does not just break and they never showed me proof that they had installed a new transmission. I am requesting for assist so Nissan of McKinney/Nissan can take full responsibility and repair/replace the transmission at no charge. Also, after a research I found similar SUVs had transmission issues and there was a lawsuit filed in which Nissan accepted to settle, I was never made aware of this lawsuit and my vehicle is one of the affected vehicles in the lawsuit.
While driving the 2014 Nissan Pathfinder at 50 mph the hood came unlatched. It then hit the windshield and broke the fenders. This caused no visibility of the road while traveling at a high speed. The issue was reported to Nissan however, the vehicle is out of warranty. Our insurance company has assigned us to a collision center to fix the windshield and fenders. There were not warning messages before the hood latch failed.
Interior driver’s side door handle snapped when I tried open it today from the inside. The only way to get out of the car now is to roll down the window and open from the outside. This seems to have happened to many other owners and was actually a recall on the 2008 Nissan murano
Driving on the highway at 75 mph on 8/26/21 the moon roof above the driving compartment shattered. It was preceded by a loud explosion sound which startled the driver enough to have to pull over. A police officer was driving behind her and pulled over as well because his car was showered with glass fragments. No vehicles were in front of the car when this occurred so nothing impacted the glass. It was a hot Florida day. Luckily the sun shade was closed so the glass did not rain down on the driver
While driving the car the driver and passenger sun visors are falling down and disturbe the view of the road. Contact the dealer and was told that the car is out of warranty and as such they would not replace it. This is a constant problem and it is not repairable.. I purchased my car 1 year ago. Since then my car has continued to stutter. Sometimes its a suttle stutter, most times its very noticeable and has continued to get worse in the short time I've had my car. I commute 1 hour to work and 1 hour home from work and am very concerned traveling on the highway at high speeds with this issue. I've asked a dealership in Hutchinson, KS to help me with this issue as I am concerned the CVT valve in the transmission has not been fixed and they won't help me. They tell me that since their tech does not witness the stutter during their brief test drive there is nothing they can do to help. I've read several complaints on nhtsa.gov from other customers as well and they are consistent with my concern.
THE SUN VISORS MAKES A LOUD CRACKING NOISE AND HAVE CONTINUED TO FALL DOWN IN MY LIGHT OF SIGHT STARTING SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS ROUGHLY A YEAR OLD. THEY WILL NOT STAY UP AND HAVE ALMOST CAUSE ME TO GET INTO A SEVERE ACCIDENT SEVERAL TIMES. THE DRIVES SIDE VISOR HAD TO BE REMOVED AS IT HIT ME WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND CAUSED ME TO SWERVE OFF THE ROAD.

BOTH SUNVISORS IN MY VEHICLE ARE BEING HELD UP WITH BUNGY CORDS BECAUSE THEY JUST FALL DOWN INTO YOUR FACE WHILE DRIVING. ACCORDING TO THE DEALERSHIP THIS IS DUE TO THE MECHANISM THAT SUPPORTS THE SUNVISORS. IN ORDER TO HAVE REPAIRED NEW SUNVISORS HAVE TO BE INSTALLED WHICH COST 485.00 WITH LABOR. THERE IS NO WAY TO KEEP THE SUN OUT OF YOUR EYES WHILE DRIVING AND IF YOU DO NOT TIE THEM UP WITH SOMETHING THEY JUST FALL FORWARD INTO YOUR FACE. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM IN MY MAKE AND MODEL AND EVENTUALLY THERE WILL BE A RECALL. AFTER TALKING WITH NISSAN HEADQUARTERS TODAY 08 12 20 THERE IS NO RECALL YET AND TO CONTACT YOU.

ON MONDAY 12/9/2019 I WAS DRIVING THE PATHFINDER ALONE ON AUDELIA ROAD IN DALLAS TEXAS. THE SPEED LIMIT IS 35 MPH IN THIS AREA. I WAS THE ONLY PERSON IN THE VEHICLE AND THERE WAS NOTHING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT. AROUND 11:00 AM I HEARD A LOUD EXPLOSION AND THE VEHICLE WAS FILLED WITH DUST WHILE IN MOTION. ASSUMING I WAS HIT I PULLED OVER AND EXITED MY CAR. AFTER I GOT OUT OF THE CAR I NOTICED THERE WERE NO OTHER CARS IN THE AREA. I WALKED AROUND THE OUTSIDE OF THE CAR AND SAW ZERO DAMAGE. MY HEAD WAS POUNDING AND MY EYES HURT FROM ALL THE DUST THAT WAS SHOT OUT IN THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYING. AAA TOWED MY CAR TO TROPHY NISSAN IN MESQUITE TEXAS. THE DEALERSHIP WOULD NOT TOUCH THE VEHICLE AS THEY STATED IT WAS A MANUFACTURE ISSUE. I HAVE CALLED NISSAN AND STARTED THE PROCESS. THE ENGINEER SENT BY NISSAN HAS ASSESSED THE VEHICLE AND STATED THAT HE SEES NO PHYSICAL, ELECTRICAL OR AFTER MARKET PARTS THAT WOULD HAVE TRIGGERED THE FAILURE. I TOOK THE VEHICLE IN TO THE DEALER BECAUSE OF THE SHAKING AND STALLING AND TWO DAYS LATER I RECEIVED MY VEHICLE BACK. THE SERVICE REPORT STATES THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 14TH MY VEHICLE WAS WORSE THAN BEFORE WITH TWO WARNING LIGHTS. I WAS BARELY ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER ON SEPTEMBER 16TH. ON SEPTEMBER 17TH I RECEIVE A PHONE CALL FROM THE SERVICE ADVISOR THAT THE ISSUE WITH THE VEHICLE IS THE TRANSMISSION. THE SHAKING HAS BEEN AN ISSUE SINCE 2017 BUT ACCORDING TO THE SERVICE AGENTS THEY NEVER EXPERIENCED IT UNTIL SEPTEMBER 16TH.

I HAD 2014 NISSAN PATHFINDER AND MY VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED AND PASSED WITH NO ISSUES IN JUNE 2019. THE DAY OF THE ACCIDENT, I DROVE ALL MORNING WITH NO TYPE OF INCIDENTS. MY NIECE, WHO LIVES ON A HILL WAS IN THE CAR WITH ME AND I PICKED HER THAT MORNING FROM HER HOUSE. SHE HAD TO RETURNED TO HER HOUSE LATER THAT MORNING FOR AN ITEM SO I DROVE BACK UP THE HILL, WAITED FOR HER IN HER DRIVEWAY, LEFT HER HOUSE AND AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE HILL I REALIZED THAT MY BRAKES WAS NOT FUNCTIONING, MY EMERGENCY BRAKE LIGHT APPEARED AND THEN ALL THE LIGHTS ON MY DASHBOARD TURNED ON. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WASN'T WORKING AND I COULDN'T STOP THE CAR. I KEPT PRESSING MY BRAKES AND NOTHING WAS HAPPENING. IT JUST KEPT GOING! AT THAT POINT, I LOOKED AROUND TO SEE THE BEST PLACE TO CRASH. I CAME DOWN THE HILL CROSSED OVER ONE OF THE MAIN ROADS AND STEERED MY CAR INTO A FENCE AND WE HIT A TREE. ALL OF MY AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AND I WAS GRATEFUL THAT BOTH MY NIECE AND I HAD NO MAJOR INJURIES. MY VEHICLE WAS TOTALED BY THE INSURANCE COMPANY. I HAD NO ISSUES WITH MY BRAKES IN THE PAST! I DID FIND OUT THAT THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKE SOFTWARE IN THE 2013 AND 2014 NISSAN PATHFINDERS MODEL-YEARS AND THERE WAS A RECALL. I BOUGHT MY VEHICLE IN 2014 HOWEVER I NEVER GOT A RECALL NOTICE. I ALSO HAD MY VEHICLE SERVICE AT A NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND BRAKE SOFTWARE FAILURES WAS NEVER COMMUNICATED TO ME. SOMETHING WENT TERRIBLY WRONG WITH MY BRAKES OR THE SOFTWARE THAT DAY.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE SUN VISOR HAS AN INNER PLASTIC PIECE BROKEN WHICH MAKES THE SUN VISOR RANDOMLY FALL, BLOCKING MY VIEW WHEN DRIVING. THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE ON MANY 2014 PATHFINDERS THAT CAN BE FIXED BY MAKING THE PARTS (VISOR) BETTER, OR BY SELLING A REPLACEMENT PART FOR THE PLASTIC PIECE THAT EASILY BREAKS. INSTEAD, THE MANUFACTURER ONLY SELLS AS A REPLACEMENT PART, THE EXACT SAME VISOR THAT IS LIKELY TO BREAK AGAIN. A SECOND ISSUE ON THIS CAR IS THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR HANDLE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE DOOR. I FIND MYSELF OFTEN TRAPPED INSIDE THE CAR OR OUTSIDE THE CAR DUE TO THIS DOOR HANDLE MALFUNCTION. THIS COULD EASILY BECOME A LIFE/DEATH SAFETY ISSUE IF EVER I WAS IN AN ACCIDENT AND WAS TRAPPED INSIDE THE CAR. THIS IS ANOTHER COMMON DEFECT ON THIS CAR CAUSED BY A CHEAP PLASTIC PIECE BREAKING. WHILE DRIVING AT A SPEED OF 75MP ON THE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 10:30 AM THE SUNROOF EXPLODED. THE SUN SHADE WAS OPEN BUT THE SUNROOF WAS CLOSED DURING THE EXPLOSION. THE WEATHER SUNNY AND CLEAR WITH A TEMP OF ABOUT 40 DEGREES. I HADN'T PASSED A SEMI OR TRUCK OR AN OVERPASS. I MAINTAINED OUR SPEED UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER AND ASSESS THE DAMAGE. I BELIEVE IT'S CALLED THE 'STRUT MOUNT'. THEREFORE THE STRUT/ARM IS NO LONGER CONNECTED TO THE LIFTGATE. THE ENTIRE POWER LIFTGATE SYSTEM IS NOW INOPERABLE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY TOLD ME THE ENTIRE POWER LIFTGATE SYSTEM HAS TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF ALMOST $2,000.00. I CALLED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS TO ASK FOR ASSISTANCE AND LOG A CASE. THE CASE # IS 33162218. NISSAN DECLINED ASSISTANCE. I FOUND A RECALL ON THE 2014-2016 NISSAN ROGUE MODELS WITH THE SAME ISSUE. I BROUGHT THIS UP TO NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND IT DID NOT CHANGE THEIR POSITION. MY ARGUMENT IS: 1) THIS IS AN INTERNAL PART AND SHOULD NEVER HAVE RUSTED. 2) WHY DOES THIS 1 PART REQUIRE THE ENTIRE POWERLIFT GATE BE REPLACED? WHEN THIS FIRST HAPPENED, I WAS OPENING THE LIFTGATE (USING THE POWER FEATURE), IT GOT ABOUT 1/2 UP, STOPPED, THEN SLAMMED BACK DOWN. HOWEVER, IT DID NOT CLOSE ALL THE WAY BECAUSE THE STRUT THAT BROKE FROM THE HINGE WAS LEFT EXTENDED, CAUSING THE LIFTGATE TO NOT BE CLOSED. THIS WAS ACTUALLY DANGEROUS BECAUSE MY ARM COULD HAVE BEEN TRAPPED WHEN THE LIFTGATE CLOSED UNEXPECTEDLY. I FOUND SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ONLINE BUT NO OFFICIAL RECALLS.

YOU ARE UNABLE TO POSITION THE VISOR TO BLOCK THE SUN AS WELL, WHICH PRESENTS ANOTHER SAFETY ISSUE. I HAVE HAD TO RESORT TO CONNECTING TWO DOG COLLARS TOGETHER TO KEEP THE VISORS IN AN UP POSITION RATHER THAN SPEND $200-300 TO REPLACE THEM. NISSAN REFUSES TO REPLACE THE VISOR SINCE ITS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. THE FIRST REPLACEMENT WAS UNDER WARRANTY, BUT THEY ONLY COVER WARRANTY WORK FOR ONE YEAR. THIS FAILURE IN THE MECHANISM ALSO AFFECTS THE "OPEN" POSITION BY NOT ALLOWING IT TO BE ADJUSTED TOWARDS THE WINDSHIELD AND ABOVE SITE-LINE. IF IT'S "OPEN" IT HANGS VERTICAL AND WILL NOT ADJUST OUT OF SITE. THE MECHANISM IS SO WEAK AND BROKEN AT THIS POINT THAT WE FEAR IT MAY FALL FROM IT'S CURRENT "CLOSED" POSITION TO "OPEN" AND DIRECTLY IN THE LINE OF SITE WHILE DRIVING. WHILE NOT AS IMPORTANT TO DRIVER SAFETY, THE PASSENGER SIDE IS JUST AS BAD. NISSAN IS NOT RECALLING THESE, BUT IT IS A "KNOWN ISSUE" ACCORDING TO MULTIPLE SERVICE DEPARTMENTS THAT I HAVE CALLED FOR REPLACEMENT. TO REPLACE ONE UNIT IS CLOSE TO $200 ($194.50). THIS IS RIDICULOUS FOR A "KNOWN ISSUE" THAT IS ACTUALLY A SAFETY CONCERN AS MUCH AS IT IS AN ANNOYANCE.

I'VE JUST CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND WAS INFORMED THEY DO NOT KNOW WHEN PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE. IF THIS IS SUCH AN "IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL", WHY IS THIS PART STILL NOT AVAILABLE? THE LIGHT IN MY CAR ILLUMINATES ON OCCASION AND I AM VERY CONCERNED.

ALMOST HIT SEVERAL TIMES BECAUSE AS I LIGHTLY HOVERED THE BRAKE WHILE TURNING OR IN STRAIGHT LINE IT HESTIATES TO PROVIDE ACCELERATION. (DEALER SAID NOTHING THEY CAN DO FOR THIS)THEY NEED CODES I WAS TOLD. 4) ALL BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS BOTH WENT BAD BEFORE 25,000 MILES. 5) RIGHT FRONT BEARING WENT BAD AT APPROX 6000 MILES CAUSING ACCELERATED TIRES WEAR (I HAD TO BUY NEW TIRES) AT 10K MILES ON A 60-75K TIRE. 6) PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT STAYS ON ALL THE TIME(CURRENTLY HAD CAR IN THEY SAID THEY WERE GETTING A PART) I AVERAGE 10-12K A YEAR AND PARK IN A LARGE OPEN DRIVEWAY.

CVT TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. THE SUV HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS FOR EACH ISSUE THE TRANSMISSION ISSUE HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP 6 PLUS TIMES AND I JUST PICKED UP THE 2014 PATHFINDER 8-16-2016 AND WAS TOLD AND HAVE IT ON MY INVOICE THAT THE SERVICE TECH DROVE THE SUV AND FEELS THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPING OR SKIPPING BUT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO NISSAN POWER TRAIN WARRANTY WILL NOT ALLOW THEM TO REPLACE IT BECAUSE MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS NOT SHOWING A CODE. SO I HAVE A 2014 PATHFINDER THAT IS A COMPLETE SAFETY HAZARD FOR MY FAMILY AND OTHER PEOPLE ON THE ROAD. THE SUV WILL CUT OUT, SLIP, SHUTTER, LOSE POWER AND HAS THE POTENTIAL OF CAUSING AND ACCIDENT WHEN TRYING TO ACCELERATE WHICH IS TERRIBLE FOR WHO EVER WAS TO HIT ME AND ALSO COULD BE FATAL IF I WAS TO BE HIT AND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG DOES NOT DEPLOY COULD REALLY HURT/KILL THE PASSENGER. EVERY EXCUSE I GET FROM NISSAN IS THEY REPROGRAMMED THE CAR AND THIS NEVER FIXED ANYTHING. THE CAR WAS HAVING TRANSMISSION ISSUES BACK BEFORE IT MADE IT TO 30,000 MILES AND NOW AT 55,000 MILES THE SUV IS HAVING MAJOR ISSUES WITH THE TRANSMISSION. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE BUT NISSAN REFUSES TO FIX. NISSAN INSTEAD PUTS THIS SUV BACK ON THE ROAD KNOWING IT IS HAVING A SAFETY ISSUE FOR ACCELERATION AND PASSENGER SIDE AIR-BAG AND PUTTING PEOPLE AT RISK. I AM REQUESTING NISSAN TO DO A BUY BACK OF THIS SUV. I AM NOT LOOKING FOR A REPLACEMENT WITH ANOTHER FAULTY TRANSMISSION OR A REBUILT TRANSMISSION. I HAVE FOUND THAT THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT IN FEDERAL COURT IN FLORIDA WITH PEOPLE HAVING THE EXACT SAME ISSUE. SO OBLIVIOUSLY THERE IS A MAJOR PROBLEM WITH THESE TRANSMISSIONS.

I LOOK AROUND AND REALIZE THAT I HEAR WIND AND GLASS ABOVE MY HEAD AS WELL. APPOX. 8 BY 12 INCHES OF GLASS WAS GONE FROM THE CENTER OF MY SUNROOF. LUCKILY, MY VISOR WAS CLOSED OR IT COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH WORSE WITH GLASS FALLING ON MY HEAD AND FACE. THE DEALER SAID THAT THEY'VE NEVER HEARD OF THIS BEFORE, BUT UPON FURTHER RESEARCH IT SEEMS TO BE A MUCH MORE COMMON OCCURRENCE THAN THAN I WAS LEAD TO BELIEVE. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS ISSUE AND COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH WORSE IF MY VISOR HAD BEEN LEFT OPEN.
