I bought a vehicle from Woods Nissan in Lees Summit, MO, on [XXX], and in a week I went back for details, and the car would not start. They checked and claimed nothing was wrong, and I took their word for it. I took the car to KC Auto Clinic in Independence, MO, and they found it was the judder system, which they said was an issue they were seeing in many Nissan vehicles. To me, there should be a recall on this, as it can simply shut off and cause a huge accident. Don't let this happen and wait for an accident to happen, as this can happen to anyone, driving or possibly getting into an accident with a vehicle like mine. I was driving on a busy highway and when I went to accelerate after slowing down in traffic my Pathfinder started to shake and shudder and would not accelerate forward. I not only almost got rear ended but I almost got into a head on collision because I was at an intersection. The car just lost all power all of a sudden. My car has been maintained properly with routine oil changes, transmission fluid changes, it has four brand new tires on it just purchased six months ago. So now I find out that I am one of the "victims of the bad CVT transmissions that Nissan put into these vehicles and they knew it!!" I call Nissan support and they tell me basically "too bad the warranty was extended but it ended in 2022 and at 84,000 miles. It's now 2025 and you're at 105,000 miles. I am "disabled for life and on a fixed income" I don't have the money to fix the car. I have like two payments left and it's finally paid off!!! They should've done a RECALL ON THESE TRANSMISSIONS AND THEY DIDN'T!! THEY ARE DEATH TRAPS AND NOW I SEE THEY ARE GIVING $5000.00 TO MURANO AND MAXIMA OWNERS FOR BAD CVT TRANSMISSIONS!! BUT ALL OF US PATHFINDERS, ROGUE AND INFINITY OWNERS WHOSE TRANSMISSIONS DIDN'T GO BAD BEFORE 2022 OR 84,000.00 MIKE'S ARE JUST SCREWED!! THIS IS NOT FAIR AT ALL. WHAT KIND OF COMPENSATION IS THIS?? $4000 worth of work. 4 visits to a local shop. 3 visits to the Nissan dealership, who claims to have replaced cylinders every time. My engine violently shakes even worse. Has cut off midst driving with no power to crank again. 4 batteries & 4 alternator replacements. Barely press on gas pedal and it shakes the whole car, then smells like something rotting.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with CVT judder. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was not notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was no longer covered under TSB Number: NTB17-039N. The failure mileage was unknown.

My car jolts/jerks in park as soon as it’s crunk up. Have been to the shop 9 times since June. Last 4 times has been Nissan Dealership, had $3000+ worth of work/replacement done. My engine is still continuing to do the same thing. Nissan said past 2 times that it was ignition coils, because they replace plug wires, but they’ve been replaced 3 times now and still the same issue ? Sounds more like CVT or timing chain issue. No codes were thrown past 2 times either

It begins shaking, jolting and shuddering while driving; started off happening at take off; then progressed to anytime speed was under 35mph; now, it does it often throughout all speeds. Nissan states it needs a new transmission which was quoted to cost $6,600+tax. The vehicle trade-in value is only $5,000ish prior to these symptoms. Vehicle has less than 117,500 miles and all maintenance and fluids have been routinely changed throughout vehicle's lifespan. This CVT issue seems to be ongoing therefore Nissan and other makes should not be allowed to put these into vehicles that are so costly and these transmissions begin to give problems while vehicles are still under warranty. Need assistance in fixing the costly transmission and Nissan should have a discount on this faulty transmissions that they knew had issues. No warning lamps or messages given; symptoms were found when taken in at 117,000 miles and stated transmission needs to be replaced. Warning lamps and signals should have been given to owner to prevent the damage done to transmission. Warning lamps do not show anything wrong with vehicle; however, the jolting, jumping and sputtering is very dangerous during driving and may cause accidents in braking, acceleration and/or heavy traffic flow.

Complete shutdown of the vehicle while driving down the road. Caused me to go into a ditch. The vehicles lights flashed and then it just shut off. Had the alternator replaced twice also the battery replaced twice and now the nissan dealership has said they don't know what's wrong with it.

Intermittently there is low power when accelerating and the brake lights remain on. If there is low power when accelerating from a stopped position going into traffic, this could lead to injury or death of persons in the car as other vehicles could run into them. Likewise with brake lights remaining on throughout a journey, other road users cannot determine when the brakes have been applied which could lead to collisions.

I own a 2015 Nissan Pathfinder with a CVT transmission that has gone out. I bought the vehicle used in October 2022. Obviously this class action lawsuit and claim deadline had already passed - when I bought the car and until my transmission failed, I had no idea about the problems or the lawsuit. Therefore I have never opted out or into the lawsuit because I did not even own the car yet. The vehicle only has 55,000 miles. It's within the original 60,000 mile warranty, but Nissan refused to cover it because the 60 month warranty expired in May 2023. I've raised a case with Nissan Consumer Affairs to no avail. Nissan Cedar Park dealership where it's at has confirmed the transmission failure through no fault of our own. What recourse do I have? I have seen your CAMPAIGN BULLETIN: CVT Warranty Extension Reference: CVT Date: August 30, 2022 It seems to me clearly from that, that Nissan's CVT warranty for my vehicle has been extended and should be covered. How do I pursue getting them to make these warranty repairs? Can you help?

2015 pathfinder will intermittently not accelerate while driving. Occurs mostly after being at a stop. Has also occurred while in motion in a 35 mph zone. The traction control light will illuminate and stay on until vehicle is shut off and restarted. This is dangerous and will eventually cause a crash.

On my way to the emissions test site, I was approaching an intersection that was controlled by a stop sign. As I approached this stop sign, I applied the brakes. My vehicle kept traveling into the intersection. The brakes did not stop the car I went out into the middle of the intersection, crossing one lane of oncoming traffic and into the 2nd lane of traffic and stopped about one foot from an oncoming vehicle. Upon this incident, I drove the vehicle home and tried to figure out what happened. The car drove home okay. Reviewed Recent service visits: December 2021 we had the car in the shop for a bearing was bad in the cooling fan and causing it to hit the shroud; March of 2022 service visit, brakes were flushed; September 2022 in for service found out a rear brake job was needed. As a result of the incident I drove the vehicle to the dealer again - they put it through the diagnostic tool - and the code came up for that the transmission was gone and to drive it any further it would be a death trap. The vehicle needed a brand new transmission. Researching the Nissan Pathfinder year 2015-there is a known defect in the transmission. As a result of a class action suit the warranty was increased to 7 yrs or 84,000 miles. This Nissan Pathfinder has 75,000 miles and was 46 days past the 7 year mark. The dealer could do nothing for me - charged thousands to replace the transmission. And now, all those identified Nissan Pathfinders, Nissan Rogues and certain model Infinitis are still on the road. It was fate that this did not end in a horrific incident for me or those I could have come in contact with. #1 - these vehicles need to be removed from the road and in my case the transmission should have been replaced by a recall. Why wasn't this a recall, who settled a class action suit and left the "death trap vehicles" on the road? (I do not have the invoice for the repair yet, will pick up vehicle tomorrow and forward the invoice to you.

When driving for any period of time over a half hour the vehicle will cut power and stop the vehicle. I was turning left at a busy intersection, hit the gas to go and the vehicle lost power and I rolled into the intersection. I could not go forward because the transmission was dead. Nissans solution is a transmission software update. They said it was repaired and after I left the dealership, 40 mins into the drive the vehicle quit at 55mph. This is incredibly dangerous and Nissan is fully aware of the defective CVT transmission they've engineered. Someone needs to stop them before people start dying.

Purchased my vehicle new not long after (less than 200 miles) I started having a jerking (which felt to be in the transmission) at the speed of 20-25 mph. I literally would have to let up off the fuel to make it stop. Give it fuel again making sure I go past the 20-25 mph (which isn't good in school zones) I have had it to the Nissan Dealer 3x for this problem and was told that "Nothing" showed up on the Diagnostic Test. I haven't taken it back since. I was approached by an individual who owned a 2012 Pathfinder and he asked me if I had any problem with my car at the speed of 20-25mph? I said yes and what a conversation we had. My car currently has 27,775 actual miles, I'm to nervous to drive it on a long distance from home! With the jerking and I know it has something to do with the transmission (overhauled motors back in the day) there's No Way I'm going to be left stranded. It's quite a shame really I spent all that money (paid in full) and I'm unable to use my car for a long trip due to fear of becoming stranded because of a Manu. BooBoo

PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE IN FEBRUARY 2019. TWO YEARS LATER IN MAY 2021, I WAS SLOWING DOWN TO MAKE A TURN AND WHEN IT WAS TIME TO ACCELERATE OUT OF THE TURN, THE CAR FELT LIKE IT LOST POWER AND EVEN THOUGH I WAS PUSHING THE GAS PEDAL, THE CAR SEEMED TO BE STUCK AND HESITATING. IT WOULDN'T GO OVER 5MPH. BROUGHT INTO CARMAX WHERE I PURCHASED IT FROM, BUT BECAUSE THERE WERE NO LIGHTS ON THEY COULDN'T FIND THE PROBLEM AND THE DIAGNOSTIC DIDN'T PICK UP ANY CODES. TWO DAYS LATER THE CAR DID THIS AGAIN AND THIS TIME IT LITERALLY DIED AS WELL IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY STREET. THIS TIME IS RATTLED AND SHOOK WHEN IT DIED. CARMAX SAID TO BRING IT IN TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP. NISSAN TRIED TO GET ME TO PAY FOR A NEW ENGINE!! SAID THERE WAS SLUDGE ON THE OIL CAP AND THAT WAS AN INDICATION THAT WE NEVER CHANGED THE OIL. WE CHANGE THE OIL EVERY 5,000MILES! CARMAX WARRANTY WOULDN'T APPROVE A NEW ENGINE BASED ON 1 MECHANICS OPINIONS. I KEPT INSISTING IT FELT LIKE A TRANSMISSION ISSUE, BUT THEY CAN ONLY INVESTIGATE IF THEY HAVE A DIRECTION VIA IDIOT LITE OR CODE FROM THE DIAGNOSTIC. SO IF THEY DID THE INSPECTION AND THERE WAS AN ISSUE, THEN IT WOULD BE COVERED BY THE EXT. WARRANTY. BUT IF THEY DIDN'T FIND AN ISSUE, I WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR INSPECTION AND LABOR $300+. THEY REPLACED THE ALTERNATOR. CAR HAS BEEN RUNNING GREAT FOR THE LAST 9 MONTHS UNTIL THIS WEEK! THE CAR IS DOING IT AGAIN. SEVERAL TIMES IN A MATTER OF 3 DAYS THE CAR HAS LITERALLY FELT LIKE IT LOSES ITS POWER AND WONT GO OVER 20MPH NO MATTER HOW FAR YOU PUSH ON THE GAS PEDAL. SEEMS TO HAPPEN WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A SLOW DOWN, STOP, TURN OR AN INCLINE. YOU CAN LITERALLY FEEL THE LOSS IN POWER. BROUGHT IT TO A DIFFERENT NISSAN DEALER, WHO SAID RIGHT AWAY IT SOUNDS LIKE THE CVT TRANSMISSION ISSUE. I AM DEVASTATED. I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS VEHICLE. We bought this Nissan Pathfinder SV model with 4-wheel drive brand new in 2015. This model supposed to have had an upgraded Continuously Variable transmission (CVT). It is meticulously maintained. In 2020 at 70,000 miles the CVT oil was changed by the Nissan dealer. The dealer said that there was nothing abnormal with the car and it was doing well. About year later at around 80,000 miles, car started to sporadically shudder and loose power when cruising at a low speed and when trying to accelerate or go up a hill with slow speeds. There was no check engine light, or any other indicators that there was a problem. We took it to the Nissan dealer and the dealer ran diagnostics. They charged us $129.95 for an hour of troubleshooting and give us a report that the car has a code P17F1 - the CVT Judder. This indicates that there is a problem with the CVT steel belt or the CVT valve body. According to Nissan these problems can not be repaired. The only fix is transmission replacement at the cost of $6,042.76. This car is few months after the warranty expired. We are another family victimized by Nissan who knows that they have problems with their CVT and they keep selling bad vehicles.

CVT Transmission Internal Failure Judder Code P17FO Cost to replace $5000 Broken Radiator Fan cost to replace $938 Total repairs required $6281. Car located at Canon Nissan Dealer. Another repair shop indicated they are seeing failed CVT transmissions on many 2015 Pathfinders and Nissan models which appears to be a manufacturers defect. No warning lights. started naking noises week or two ago. indicated the fan was dangerous.

Vehicle started hesitation between 20 and 30 mph. Took to Nissan of Wood River and paid for diagnostic test and came back with code to replace transmission. Vehicle could have broke down on highway. Took to transmission shop, they verified and replaced transmission at 127k miles. There were never any warning lights or messages that appeared.. cost over $4500.00 for replacement. Nissan is aware of the CVT transmission problems and should recall.

SINCE THE 1ST DAY OF PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE I WAS EXPERIENCING ISSUES WITH TRANSMISSION LIKE HESITATION, JERKING / SHUDDERING / SHAKING AND ABNORMAL WHINING NOISE WHILE DRIVING AT LOW SPEEDS. I WAS NOT AWARE ABOUT NISSAN'S MAJOR CVT ISSUES UNTIL RECENTLY. VEHICLE'S BRAKING IS AFFECTED BECAUSE OF THIS ABNORMAL TRANSMISSION'S OPERATION AS THE VEHICLE DOES NOT IMMEDIATELY STOP AS NEEDED OR REQUESTED INSTEAD OFTEN SLIPPING OCCURS WHEN DOWNSHIFTING TO LOWER GEARS. NISSAN SERVICE CENTER WAS VISITED ONCE ABOUT A YEAR AGO OR LESS. I WAS TOLD THAT THE SOFTWARE FOR TRANSMISSION WAS SOMEHOW MISSING ON THE VEHICLE, WITHOUT EXPLAINING HOW CAN A VEHICLE BE MANUFACTURED WITHOUT TRANSMISSION SOFTWARE. I WAS CHARGED ABOUT $140 WITHOUT BEING PROVIDED A CLEAR DIAGNOSE, BUT WAS TOLD THAT MOST LIKELY THE CAR NEEDS A NEW TRANSMISSION. CONTROL VALVE BODY WAS REPLACED SINCE THEN, HOWEVER VEHICLE DRIVES THE SAME EXACT WAY. PLEASE, ADVISE HOW CAN GET ASSISTANCE FROM.

SEEMED TO FIX THE SITUATION BUT NOW AGAIN HAVING THE SAME ISSUES. BRINGING CAR BACK TO NISSAN DEALER FOR REPAIR. FOUND THAT YEARS PRIOR THERE WAS A SAFETY RECALL BUT NOT FOR THE 2015. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS ESPECIALLY WHEN PULLING OUT IN FRONT OF TRAFFIC. CAR WILL NOT ACCELERATE UNTIL BRAKE PEDAL IS PRESSED OR LETTING OFF THE GAS PEDAL, THEN REENGAGING. THIS IS IN CITY OR STOPPED THEN ACCELERATING TO RAMP TO GET ONTO THE HIGHWAY. BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON WHICH IS ALSO HAZARDOUS WHEN OTHERS WOULDN'T KNOW WHEN I'M ACTUALLY STOPPING. I HAD MY TRANSMISSION FLUSHED AT APPROX. 52K MILES ON 2/23/2019. IN APRIL 2019, THE TRANSMISSION BEGIN HAVING ISSUES. RPMS WOULD RIDE HIGH; HOWEVER, TRANSMISSION WOULD NOT UP-SHIFT. OCCURRED DESPITE ACCELERATOR PRESSED TO THE FLOOR. WHEN RELEASING THE ACCELERATOR AND PRESSING AGAIN, THE TRANSMISSION WOULD JERK AND BEGIN TO UP-SHIFT. ISSUE IS INTERMITTENT. CAN OCCUR WHEN TAKING OFF AFTER STOPPING AT AN INTERSECTION, AND SUDDENLY WHEN SMOOTHLY ACCELERATING UPON ENTERING FREEWAYS. HAVING SAFETY CONCERNS, I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO NISSAN AND EXPLAINED THE ISSUE AS NOTED ABOVE ON 5/8/2019. SINCE THE PURCHASE OF THE VEHICLE, MY NISSAN PATHFINDER HAS FAILED TO ACCELERATE EITHER AT A STOP OR DURING NORMAL SPEED. THE ENGINE WOULD NOT STALL, BUT WOULD ONLY ACCELERATE ALMOST AT IDLE SPEED. THE SYMPTOM OF THE PROBLEM WOULD OCCUR A COUPLE OF TIME THEN THE SLIP INDICATOR LIGHT WOULD DISPLAY AND STAY ON UNTIL THE CAR WAS SHUT DOWN AND RESTARTED, I HAVE SEVERAL PICTURES DEMONSTRATING THE ISSUE AS DESCRIBED FOR WHEN THE INDICATOR SLIP LIGHT FOR THE LIMITED SLIP CONTROL WOULD DISPLAY IN CLEAR CONDITIONS. THIS WOULD OCCUR IN IDEAL WEATHER CONDITIONS AND ROAD CONDITIONS WERE CLEAR AND MY FOOT WAS DEFINITELY NOT ENGAGING THE BRAKE PEDAL. THIS PRESENTS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY ISSUE, ESPECIALLY WHEN ATTEMPTING TO PULL INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC OR ATTEMPTING TO PASS A SLOWER VEHICLE. I COULD DEPRESS THE GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR WITH NO IMPACT ON ACCELERATION. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL NEAR MISSES WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC DUE TO FAILURE TO ACCELERATE. I TOOK IN THE VEHICLE INTO D-PATRICK NISSAN IN EVANSVILLE, INDIANA SEVERAL TIMES AND TO ANDY MOHR NISSAN, INDIANAPOLIS INDIANA. IN BOTH CASES, THE DEALERSHIP WAS UNABLE TO DETECT ANY ISSUES WITH CODE ERRORS OR REPLICATE THE ISSUE EVEN AFTER I PROVIDE PHOTO EVIDENCE OF THE ISSUE I WAS HAVING. THE FAILURE TO ACCELERATE IS SO RANDOM AND CAN HAPPEN SEVERAL DAYS IN ONE WEEK OR AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK. WHEN IT DOES HAPPEN I KNOW IT WILL NOT CHANGE UNTIL I CAN SHUT DOWN THE VEHICLE AND RESTART. SOME INSTANCES THE FAILURE TO ACCELERATE WOULD PERSIST BUT MOST OF THE TIME IS WOULD CORRECT ITSELF AFTER RESTARTING. I AM AFRAID TO DRIVE THE CAR WITH MY WIFE AND THREE CHILDREN IN IT. I FINALLY DECIDED TO FILE A COMPLAINT AFTER I FOUND ANOTHER NISSAN PATHFINDER OWNER WHO WAS HAVING THE EXACT SAME ISSUE WITH HIS NISSAN PATHFINDER.

2015 NISSAN PATHFINDER SOMETIMES WILL NOT GO WHEN THE GAS PEDAL IS PRESSED FROM A STOPPED POSITION. 3 DIFFERENT TIMES THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME AND MY WIFE. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION. IT HAPPENED THE LAST TIME AS WE WERE TRYING TO CROSS FOUR LANES OF TRAFFIC AT AN INTERSECTION.AS THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN AND WE TRIED TO GO IT ONLY IDLED ACROSS THE INTERSECTION WE GOT IT TO THE DEALERSHIP ASAP IT'S BEEN THERE A WEEK SO FAR. VEHICLE WAS MANUFACTURED IN AUG 2015. I PURCHASED IT USED BUT CERTIFIED! PLEASE INVESTIGATE TO SEE IF THE PROBLEMS THEY HAD WITH THE 2013-2014 MODELS ARE CONTINUING. I HAVE HEARD IT MIGHT BE THE TRANSMISSION? ALL MAINTENANCE HAS BEEN PERFORMED ACCORDING TO CARFAX, INCLUDING AT 9,774 AN ENGINE POWER TRAIN COMPUTER MODULE REPROGRAMMED. CERTIFICATION WAS DONE BY NISSAN ON 8/21/2018 AND PURCHASED BY US.ON 9/2/2017. ANY HELP TO KEEP ME AND MY WIFE SAFE WILL BE APPRECIATED.

WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP, AT LOW SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE STUTTERS/JUDDERS FOR A FEW SECONDS. IT HAS BEEN PROGRESSIVELY GETTING WORSE, EVEN STARTING TO SHOW UP AT MEDIUM SPEEDS, TO THE POINT WHERE WE THINK THE VEHICLE IS GOING TO STALL. IF YOU PUSH ON THE GAS IT EVENTUALLY GOES THROUGHT THE STUTTERING. SINCE NO CODES ARE INDICATING THEY WILL NOT LOOK AT THE ISSUE.

UNSAFE CONDITION, THIS IS THE DESIGN OF THE VEHICLE! NISSAN WILL NOT TAKE ANY ACTION. DISREGARDING COMPLAINT WITH THE BBB. THE CAR DROPS OUT OF CRUISE CONTROL GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND LOOSES UP TO 20MPH. WE FEEL UNSAFE WHEN TOWING A LOAD! THIS HAS HAPPENED SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NEW. NISSAN MADE SOME CHANGES AND DIAGNOSTIC TESTING BUT IT STILL IS UNSAFE.

WHILE TOWING UNDER THE CAPACITY OF THE VEHICLE TOW SPECIFICATION, THE VEHICLE DROPPED OUT OF CRUISE CONTROL (SET AT 65 MPH). THIS CAUSED AN UNEXPECTED SLOWDOWN OF ALMOST 20 MPH AND MY FAMILY AND I FEARED GETTING HIT AT THAT SPEED (45 IN A 65 WHEN PEOPLE ARE DRIVING AT 75 OR MORE). NISSAN TECHNICIANS WITNESSED THIS HAPPEN.

WHEN STARTING FROM STOP ( AT A STOP SIGN OR TRAFFIC LIGHT) THE VEHICLE PERIODICALLY WILL NOT ACCELERATE. THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP TWO TIMES NOW WITH NO CHANGE. THE FIRST TIME IT WAS IN THEY DID A SOFTWARE UPDATE AND THOUGHT THAT WOULD CORRECT IT, IT DID NOT. THE SECOND TIME THEY SAID IT WAS BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS IN 2WD AND IT WAS WET OUT. IT HAS HAPPENED AGAIN WITH THE VEHICLE IN AUTO AND THE GROUND BONE DRY. I CALLED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS AND STARTED A CASE. I WAS TOLD TO GET A SECOND OPINION. THE VEHICLE IS UNSAFE BECAUSE WHEN PULLING INTO A LANE OF TRAFFIC YOU MAY NOT MOVE FOR A FEW SECONDS ANS ON COMING TRAFFIC MAY NOT STOP.

POSSIBLY RELATED TO THE PAST YEAR MODELS NISSAN CVT ISSUES. 2015 PATHFINDER WITH LESS THAN 10K MILES UNDER 2 YEARS OLD TRANSMISSION FAILURE. MY WIFE WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WITH MY 3 KIDS (4 YEAR, 2 YEAR, AND 1 MONTH OLD) WHEN THE VEHICLE STOP ACCELERATING. SHE WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO PULL OVER TO THE SHOULDER SAFETY. WHEN SHE TRIED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE WHEN IT WAS IN DRIVE MODE OR LOW GEAR. THE VEHICLE HOWEVER DID MOVE IN REVERSE. MY WHOLE FAMILY WAS STUCK ON THE SIDE OF A FAST MOVING HIGHWAY, WITHOUT ME, UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO LEAVE WORK, AN HOUR AWAY, TO GET TO THEIR LOCATION AND SAFETY GET ALL THE KIDS AND MY WIFE TO A SAFER LOCATION. TOWED THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE WE BOUGHT THE CAR AND THEY SAID THAT THEY HAVE TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION. THE ISSUES MAY STEM FROM THE SAME ISSUE IN PREVIOUS MODEL PATHFINDERS AND OTHER VEHICLE MODELS WITH NISSAN'S CVT IN THEM. LESS THAN 10K MILES ON A BRAND NEW VEHICLE. UNDER 2 YEARS IN AGE AND THE TRANSMISSION FAILS. MAKES ME RETHINK IF I WANT TO KEEP THE VEHICLE KNOWING MY FAMILY WILL MAINLY BE DRIVING IN IT WITHOUT ME THERE. *TR

WHILE TAKING OFF FROM 0-20MPH THE CAR WILL HESITATE AND JERK. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO NISSAN SERVICE DEPT. BACK IN MAY 2016 AND THEY COULD NOT FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH CAR. NOW IT HAS BEEN HAPPENING MORE FREQUENTLY AND WE TOOK IT BACK ON 11/18/16 AND THE SERVICE DEPT. SAID THEY STILL CAN'T FIND NOTHING WRONG WITH VEHICLE BECAUSE THERE ARE NOT CHECK ENGINE CODE POPPING UP, SO THEY NEEDED PERMISSION TO HAVE A SERVICE TECH TAKE IT HOME TO SEE IF HE CAN SEE WHAT WE ARE EXPERIENCING AND WILL FOLLOW UP WITH US TOMORROW. I BELIEVE THIS PROBLEM STARTED BACK IN EARLY 2015 WHEN WE BOUGHT THE CAR, BUT IT WOULD ONLY HAPPEN SO RARELY THAT I NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT IT UNTIL MY WIFE WHO DRIVES IT EVERY DAY BROUGHT IT UP TO MY ATTENTION.

WHILE DRIVING OUR PATHFINDER IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC, I'VE STARTED TO NOTICE AND FEEL A JUDDERING & JERKING MOTION COMING FROM THE TRANSMISSION/POWERTRAIN EVERY TIME I DEPRESS OR PRESS ON THE GAS PEDAL AT BETWEEN SPEEDS OF 15 TO 40 MPH. I PLAN TO REPORT THIS TO NISSAN ALONG WITH A COUPLE MORE ISSUES LIKE THE CRACKLING SOUND COMING FROM THE FRONT SUSPENSION USUALLY AFTER REVERSING BACK OUT OF A DRIVEWAY THEN MOVING FORWARD WHILE SLIGHTLY TURNING THE WHEEL BACK TO A STRAIGHT POSITION. COULD BE A BEARING ISSUE, RACKING PINION OR POSSIBLY THE BRAKE ISSUES THAT HAVE BEEN RECALLED. I WILL ALSO REPORT THE CONSTANT ANNOUNCE OF A CRACKLING SOUND COMING FROM THE WOOD PANELING AROUND STEREO AND AIR CONDITION CONTROLS. LAST BUT NOT LEAST THE SCARY & VISIBLE SHAKING OF THE FRONT HOOD WHILE DRIVING AT SPEEDS OF OVER 80MPH. THIS VIOLENTLY SHAKING FROM THE HOOD WILL CERTAINLY LET YOU KNOW THAT IF YOU GO ANY FASTER CHANCES ARE THE HOOD WILL FLY OFF OR CAUSE SERIOUS DAMAGE TO THE VEHICLE OR POSSIBLY CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. THERE IS NO DOUBT IN MY MIND THAT THIS IS ISSUE IS CLEARLY AN AERO DYNAMIC FLAW. HOW CAN THEY NOT HAVE BEEN AWARE OF THIS POSSIBLE SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE ?

JUDDER IS FOUND BETWEEN 20-25 MILES FOR MORE THAN 5 SECOND WHEN ACCELERATING SMOOTHLY. THE MECHANIC RECORDED THE JUDDER AND SENT IT TO THE ENGINEER. THE ENGINEER AT CORPORATE NISSAN TOLD US THAT IT IS A NORMAL THING BUT ANY CAR SHOULDN'T HAVE A JUDDER(ESPECIALLY 2015 NEWEST MODEL). A JUDDER ALSO SHOWS IN THE HIGH SPEED, BUT NOT AS MUCH AS SLOW SLEEP. A JUDDER ALSO APPEARS WHEN THE CAR SLOWS DOWN TO A STOP. I HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IT UP FOR THEM TO FIX THE ISSUE. IT DOES NOT MAKE SENSE WHEN THERE IS A RECORD OF JUDDER BUT WAIT UNTIL SOMETHING HAPPENS TO THE CAR.

VEHICLE WAS TAKEN INTO SHOP BECAUSE OF SHUDDER IN TRANSMISSION AND HESITATION FROM STOP WHEN APPLYING ACCELERATOR. THE NISSAN DEALER INSTALLED A NEW VALVE BODY IN THE TRANSMISSION WHICH SEEMED TO STOP THE SHUDDER UNTIL TODAY WHEN IT HAS RETURNED. THE HESITATION FROM STOP PROBLEM WAS NOT FIXED AND I RETURNED THE PATHFINDER A SECOND TIME TO FIX THIS PROBLEM BUT SINCE IT DID NOT THROW A CODE AND COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED IT WAS NOT FIXED. THE HESITATION PROBLEM IS AN ITERMITTENT PROBLEM BUT WHEN IT HAPPENS THE VEHICLE DOES NOT MOVE FORWARD WHEN THE GAS IS FIRST APPLIED FOR A SECOND OR TWO. I HAVE ALMOST HAD TWO ACCIDENT BECAUSE OF THIS PROBLEM WHEN PULLING INTO TRAFFIC AND THE CAR WILL NOT MOVE WHEN GAS APPLIED. THE SHUDDER PROBLEM AS RETURNED AND CAN BE FELT AT AROUND 40MPH.

AFTER PURCHASING THE VEHICLE FROM AUTOMATION NISSAN DALLAS THE TRANSMISSION , CVT, FAILED AT 2300 MILES. THERE WAS NO HEAVY USE ON THE TRANSMISSION. WE HAVE NOT EVEN TOWED WITH IT. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE AND THE DEALER REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING BEYOND FIX THIS LEMON. PICKED UP VEHICLE, 9/17/15 AND ON THE MORNING OF 9/18/15 THE FUEL LIGHT CAME ON. WE DID NOT FUEL THE VEHICLE OR OPEN THE FUEL CAP 9/18/15 THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AGAIN AND THE VEHICLE IS BACK AT THE DEALER.

POTENTIALLY FAULTY BRAKE SYSTEM OR DOWNSHIFT CVT OR SIMULATED GEARSHIFT SYSTEM. DETAILS: WHEN DRIVING IN SLOW MOVING TRAFFIC WITH THE BRAKES PARTIALLY APPLIED, THE VEHICLE TENDS TO MOMENTARILY ACCELERATE AND SPEED UP. CONCURRENTLY THE RESISTANCE ON THE BRAKE PEDAL TENDS TO DECREASE, ALONG WITH A VISIBLE DOWN-AND-THEN-BACK-UP JUMPING OF RPM NEEDLE. THE BRAKE PEDAL NEEDS TO BE KEPT PRESSED TO ALLOW THE VEHICLE TO SLOW DOWN. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALERSHIP (NEW VEHICLE, WITH ONLY 300 MILES), THE TECHNICIAN NOTICED THE PROBLEM I HAD BEEN EXPLAINING. THE TECHNICIAN AGREED TO SPEAK WITH THE ENGINEER THE NEXT DAY. HOWEVER, NEXT DAY THE DEALERSHIP STATED THAT THEY HAVE NEVER ENCOUNTERED SUCH AS ISSUE, AND IT MAY BE SIMPLY THE DOWN-SHIFT OF THE CVT TRANSMISSION. THIS IS UNUSUAL IN COMPARISON TO ANY OTHER CAR I HAVE DRIVEN. ACCELERATION OF THE CAR DURING THE BRAKING CYCLE IS CLEARLY ODD. POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION WHEN APPROACHING A STOP SIGN OR SLOW TRAFFIC ZONES NEAR SCHOOLS. PLEASE INVESTIGATE.
