OIL PRESSURE BUILD UP WHICH WAS CAUSING THE GASOLINE TO LEAK FROM THE FUEL LINE, AND A STRONG FUEL ODOR CAME INTO THE CABIN. THE FUEL TANK HOSE WAS REPLACED, BUT THE PROBLEM RECURRED.*AK

STEERING ASSEMBLY SHIFTER BOLTS HAD TO BE REPLACED. THE BOLTS WERE MISSING. I ALSO HAVE ANOTHER COMPLAINT IN REGARDING THIS SAME VEHICLE ON FILE WITH YOU. THE OTHER COMPLAINT DEALS WITH THE TRANSMISSION, RADIATIOR AND MANIFOLD.*AK
WHILE DRIVING FUEL WAS LEAKING FROM VEHICLE DUE TO BREAKAGE OF FUEL RAIL. DEALER INDICATED VEHICLE COULD HAVE EXPLODED.*AK
STRONG FUEL ODOR INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE VAN. DEALER SAID TO REPLACE FUEL RAIL HOSE. VENT HOSE WAS REPLACED FROM THE RECALL.
LAST FALL WE SMELLED GAS. WE TOOK THE CAR IN AND HAD THE OVERFLOW HOSE REPLACED. LATER, IN THE SPRING, THAT PART WAS RECALLED. AGAIN, THIS WEEK, WE SMELLED GAS. WE TOOK THE CAR AND HAD THE RECALL PART PUT IN. THE NEXT DAY WE STILL SMELLED GAS. THEY CALLED ME AND SAID IT WAS ANOTHER FUEL HOSE WHICH IS UNDER THE MANIFOLD. THAT IS TWO FUEL HOSE LEAKS IN LESS THAN A YEAR. THAT IS SCARY. WHAT IF I DIDN'T HAVE $228 TO REPLACE IT? THIS IS A HUGE FIRE HAZARD. I AM BECOMING SCARED TO DRIVE THIS CAR. PLEASE CONSIDER THIS A SERIOUS PROBLEM. *AK
PRIOR TO RECALL NOTIFICATION (00V419001), CONSUMER PAID FOR NECESSARY REPAIRS, CONSUMER CALLED THE NUMBER ON THE BACK OF NOTIFICATION, BUT WAS NEVER ABLE TO GET THROUGH, CONSUMER IS NOW SEEKING REIMBURSEMENT IN WRITING. *JB

WATER PUMP/ COOLANT LEAKS UNDER INTAKE/OIL LEAKS FROM OIL PUMP LEAKED FROM REAR MAIN SEALS. CONSUMER HAD FOUND OUT AFTER TAKEN VEHICLE TO A TECHNICIAN FOR SAFETY CHECK AND MAINTENACE THAT THOSE PROBLEMS NEEDED TO BE FIXED.*AK

WHILE DRIVING A STRONG GAS ODOR COMES THROUGH THE VENTS AND FILLS THE VEHICL'S INTERIOR EVEN WITH THE WINDOWS DOWN. AT FIRST FIXING THE CAUSE WAS INDICATED TO BE HOLE IN THE MULFFLER. WHEN THE PROBLEM OCCURED AGAIN, THE CAUSE WAS INDICATED TO BE TEARING IN THE GAS TANK VENT HOSE. AIR CONDITIONER FAILED. *YH
VEHICLE HAS AN EXCESS OF FUEL VAPORS FLOWING INTO THE DRIVER'S COMPARTMENT. ALSO, FUEL TANK HOSE HAD A LEAK. DEALER HAS REPLACED A HOSE TWICE. *AK *ML
CONSUMER STATED THAT WHEN SHE FILL UP THE FUEL TANK, FUEL START DRIPING FROM THE TANK ALSO FUME SMELL ALL THE TIME INSIDE OF VEHICLE..
THE CAR IS VERY DIFFICULT TO START AFTER SITTING. I HAVE A NUMBER OF FRIENDS WITH SIMILIAR COMPLANTS WITH THE QUEST AND THE SISTER MERCURY VAN. ALL THE SOLUTIONS HAVE BEEN WITH THE REPLACEMENT OF THE FUEL PUMP. MOST OF THESE PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS REPLACED BETWEEN 40 AND 70K MILES. THE PUMP IS LOCATED IN THE FUEL TANK. IF THE GAS LEVEL DROPS TO LOW THEN THE PUMP BECOMES DAMAGED AS IT HEATS UP AND/OR SUCKS AIR. I THINK THIS IS DESIGN PROBLEM, AND AM WONDERING IF OTHER PEOPLE HAVE PRODUCED THIS COMPLAINT. *AK

DEFECTIVE FUEL FILLER TUBE OR INTERNAL FUEL PARTS CAUSED A GAS RAW SMELL AND A GAS LEAK, WHICH MIGHT HAVE CAUSED A FIRE IF THERE WAS A SOURCE OF IGNITION. *AK
VAN WAS LEAKING GAS FROM A HOSE THAT RUBED/SHAVED AGAINST THE FUEL TANK
FUEL LINE LEAKS FUEL ONTO THE ENGINE BLOCK, BENEATH THE INTAKE PLENUM. WHEN ENGINE IS RUNNING, VISIBLE DRIPS OCCUR (ABOUT 1 DROP PER 1 OR 2 SECONDS).
WAS TRAVELIN GOUT OF TOWN AND VEHICLE STOPPED RUNNING. TOWED TO A REPAIR STATION. MECHANIC TOLD DRIVER ENGINE HAD A VAPOR LOCK, WHICH IN TURN LOCKED ENGINE AND BROKE ONE OF THE CAMS.
CONSUMER EXPERIENCED FUEL LOSS, APPROXIMATELY HALF GALLON, ON GARAGE FLOOR DUE TO NUMEROUS CRACKS IN FUEL LINE. DEALER WAS NOTIFIED AND WAS NOT INTERESTED IN THE CONSUMER'S COMPLAINT. ALSO THE CONSUMER HAS OLD FUEL LINE FOR INSPECTION IF NEEDED. *AK *SLC
