Check engine light came on and says fuel level sensor circuit a low
1. Fuel Gauge- the fuel Hague is incorrect. I suspect somewhere between 1/2 tank and 3/8 tank will actually be an empty tank. I was almost left stranded when I could make it to the next service station. The car performed slow and the car came to a slow stop. No fuel indicator light came on. 2. My steering wheel has been very difficult to turn. Suddenly the power steering tank requires daily service. There is a rattling noise that gets a little better when I pour power steering fluid. I am unable to make safe turns due to the steering wheel no moving at it’s normal rate. Turning at intersections is the worst as I sometimes have to try several attempts. I end up having to take wide turns and that is not always safe in our narrow streets. There is no indicator light related to this concern.
FUEL GAUGE SENSOR WAS BROUGHT IN FOR RECALL BUT ISSUE STILL EXISTS. DEALER CLAIMS I NEED TO PAY TO DETERMINE IF IT IS STILL THE SAME PROBLEM. DEALER ALSO CONFIRMED THEY DO NOT VERIFY THE RECALL WORK DONE WAS SUCCESSFUL. ALL THEY ARE REQUIRED TO DO IS "PUT IN THE NEW PARTS". WHEN I FILL THE TANK WITHIN 5 MINS. IT GOES BACK TO EMPTY ON THE GAS GAUGE. THE RECALL DID NOTHING TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM.

THE FUEL GUAGE IS MALFUNCTIONING. I HAVE RUN OUT OF GAS WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS. I HAVE REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP AND FUEL SENSOR AND THE ISSUE IS STILL PRESENT. THE VEHICLE RAN OUT OF GAS IN MOTION ON A BUSY STREET, THEN ON A BUSY EXIT RAMP, ONCE ON INTERSTATE 695 IN BALTIMORE. THE VEHICLE WAS NEARLY HIT BY TRAFFIC BEHIND THE VEHICLE WHEN IT RAN OUT OF GAS DUE TO A FAULTY FUEL GAUGE.

MY VAN FIRST CUTS OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WHILE MY PREGNANT WIFE WAS DRIVING. EVEN THOUGH GAUGE INDICATES THAT THE FUEL WAS FULL. THEN IT CUTS OFF AGAIN AFTER THE SUPPOSED FIX BY THE DEALERSHIP. NISSAN HAD PREVIOUSLY ISSUED CAMPAIGN ID #: P5318 FOR THIS PROBLEM BUT AS ALL OTHER CUSTOMERS WOULD NOTE, THIS DOESN'T FIX THE PROBLEM EVEN AFTER TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. WE NEED NISSAN TO LOOK INTO THIS ASAP. TOOK IT TO THE FIRST DEALERSHIP WHERE IT SPEND TWO AND HALF WEEKS AND THEY COULDN'T FIGURE OUT THE PROBLEM. THE SECOND DEALERSHIP NOW SAYS I NEED TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE COMPUTER AND REPROGRAM WHICH COSTS THOUSAND OF DOLLARS. THIS IS RIDICULOUS!

1.VECHICLE RUN OUT OF GAS EVEN THOUGH IT SHOWED IT HAD 1/4 TANK AND DISPLAYED 24 MILES BEFORE EMPTY. WAS STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF HIGH SPEED TRAFFIC WITHOUT ANY WARNING. 2. VECHICLE VIBRATES WHEN DRIVING 40 MILES SEEM TO BE DEFECTIVE TRANSMITION. 3.VECHICLE AS LOUD NOISE COMING FROM TIMING CHAIN AREA . ACCORDING TO MECHANIC THIS IS A COSTLY AND KNOWN ISSUE WITH NISSANS. WHERE TIMING CHAIN GUIDE AS PERMATURE WARE CAUSING TIME CHAIN TO BECOME LOOSE AND CUASE NOISE COULD BECOME A SAFETY ISSUE.

MY FUEL GAUGE WOULD SAY THAT I HAD OVER A QUARTER TANK OF GAS AND OUT OF NOWHERE MY VAN WOULD SHUT DOWN. NO WARNING, NO ANYTHING. THIS HAPPENED A FEW TIMES. I GOT A RECALL LETTER IN THE MAIL ABOUT MY FUEL SENSOR AND TO KEEP A HALF A TANK IN IT UNTIL I COULD GET IT FIXED. I TOOK MY VAN TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPLACED THE FUEL AMP METER (PART NO. 24819-ZM70A). I WAS TOLD THAT EVERYTHING WAS GOOD, BUT NOT EVEN TWO DAYS LATER AT A QUARTER OF A TANK OF GAS MY VAN SHUT DOWN WITH NO WARNING. I DIDN'T EVEN HAVE POWER STEERING TO HELP ME GUIDE MY VEHICLE SAFELY TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. MY VAN STARTED IDLING ROUGHLY AND NOT ACTING LIKE IT HAD BEFORE I TOOK IT IN FOR THE RECALL. I TOOK THE VAN BACK UP TO THE DEALERSHIP THAT FIXED MY RECALL AND THEY STATED THAT THE SENSOR IS FINE AND NOW I HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE FUEL PUMP SENDING UNIT. THE ENTIRE PROBLEM HAS NOT BEEN RECTIFIED. NOW BEING TOLD TO SPEND $1000 DOLLARS ON A PART TO FIX THE SAME PROBLEM.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP FAILED AND WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 102,000.

I RAN OUT OF GAS ON TWO SEPARATE OCCASIONS. BOTH TIMES I THOUGHT I HAD PLENTY OF GAS DUE TO WHAT THE GAUGE SAID. THE FIRST TIME, I HAD MY 2 KIDS WITH ME AND IT RAN OUT AS I WAS GOING AROUND AN UNFAMILIAR CURVE IN THE INTERSTATE. THE VAN BECAME VERY HARD TO STEER. LUCKY FOR ME I WAS IN A LANE NEXT TO A SHOULDER SO I WAS ABLE TO FIGHT IT OFF OF THE ROAD. IT WAS VERY HARD TO STOP AT THAT POINT. THE SECOND TIME, I HAD 7 PEOPLE IN THE CAR INCLUDING MY 2 KIDS AND 4 OF THEIR YOUNG FRIENDS. THIS TIME IT RAN OUT JUST AS I CAME TO A CURVE ON A ROAD WHERE PEOPLE TEND TO SPEED. I DID NOT HAVE THE STRENGTH TO KEEP THE VAN FROM CROSSING INTO THE ONCOMING LANE, BUT LUCKY FOR US, NOBODY WAS IN THE OTHER LANE AT THAT TIME. I WAS ABLE TO COAST OFF OF THE OPPOSITE SIDE OF THE ROAD. BOTH TIMES I MISSED VERY IMPORTANT MEETINGS BUT WAS THANKFUL TO BE ALIVE. I HAVE SINCE LEARNED TO RESET MY MILEAGE COUNTER WHEN I FILL UP AND WATCH TO MAKE SURE I DON'T PUSH IT TO FAR, BUT ALWAYS AFRAID I MAY GUESS INCORRECTLY. I AM PROBABLY FILLING UP AT 1/2 TANK FOR FEAR OF STALLING AGAIN WITH MY KIDS IN THE VAN. AFTER THE FIRST TIME, I THOUGHT I RECEIVED A NOTICE ABOUT A PROBLEM WITH THE GAUGE. I HAD MY VAN IN FOR SERVICE AT THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALER AND ASKED THEM ABOUT IT. THEY LOOKED IT UP AND SAID THEY DID NOT SEE ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THAT WAS AROUND 2015/03. I AM TIRED OF CONSTANTLY FILLING UP, SO I AM LOOKING INTO HOW TO GET IT FIXED. THAT IS HOW I FOUND OUT ABOUT ALL THE OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE FAULTY GAUGE ISSUE.

WE TOOK OUR 2007 NISSAN QUEST IN FOR THE RECALL TO REPAIR OUR FAULTY FUEL GAUGE READING ON 10/24/15 AND NISSAN HAD OUR VAN UNTIL 11/13/15 AND FAILED TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. CODE P0462 FOR THE "FUEL LEVEL SENSOR CIRCUIT LOW INPUT" IS STILL ACTIVE AN.D OUR FUEL GAUGE STILL DOES NOT WORK. NISSAN CLAIMS TO HAVE REPLACED THE PART STIPULATED IN THE RECALL, BUT REPLACING THAT PART FAILED TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. AFTER OUR QUEST SPENT 21 DAYS AT NISSAN TO HAVE OUR FUEL GAUGE RECALL FIXED WE WERE INFORMED WE WOULD HAVE TO PAY TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE. WE TOOK OUR QUEST BACK TO NISSAN ON 12/28/15 TO HAVE THE ISSUE OF THE FAULTY FUEL GAUGE RESOLVED. WE WERE TOLD TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP TO MAKE THE FUEL GAUGE WORK. THE COST OF THE FUEL PUMP IS OVER $500. AND DOES NOT INCLUDE LABOR CHARGES. AFTER NISSAN REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP OUR FUEL GAUGE STILL DOES NOT WORK, AND WE RUN THE RISK OF RUNNING OUT OF FUEL. NOW WE ARE TOLD WE MUST REPLACE THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER TO RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. THE COST OF THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER IS OVER $300. PLUS $35. TO PROGRAM IT, AND DOES NOT INCLUDE LABOR CHARGES. WHY SHOULD WE BE RESPONSIBLE TO PAY OVER $1,000. TO HAVE AN ISSUE FIXED THAT IS COVERED BY A RECALL? WHY SHOULD I PAY FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF A FUEL PUMP IF THE FUEL PUMP DID NOT RESOLVE THE FAULTY FUEL GAUGE READING? I WOULD LIKE TO GOVERNMENT TO INVESTIGATE WHY NISSAN IS NOT RESOLVING PROBLEMS COVERED BY A GOVERNMENT RECALL.

THIS IS PROBABLY THE 4TH TIME I HAVE STALLED OUT I LOOSE POWER STEERING WHEN CAR STALLS AND I WAS DRIVING IN A LOT OF TRAFFIC. THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED I WAS ON THE FREE WAY. GAS GAUGE SHOWS I HAVE OVER A QUARTER OF A TANK THE DISTANCE TO EMPTY SHOWS THAT I HAVE ANY WHERE FROM 18-70 MILES LEFT AND I STALL OUT. AFTER PUTTING GAS IN THE TANK THE CAR FUNCTIONS AGAIN. THERE IS NO ILLUMINATED LIGHT, NO NOTIFICATION IN THE FORM OF A SOUND OR DING. I WATCH MY MILES BUT WHEN YOU VARY BETWEEN IN TOWN AND HIGHWAY MILES THEY ARE NOT ALWAYS THE SAME. I HAVE DRIVEN 400 MILES BEFORE NEEDING TO FILL UP AND 283 MILES ON THE ODOMETER WHEN TANK HAS EMPTIED AND STALLED OUT. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING FOR 19 YEARS WITHOUT EVER RUNNING OUT OF GAS IN AT LEAST 14 OTHER VEHICLES, AND I HAVE RUN OUT 4 TIMES BECAUSE OF THIS FAULTY GAUGE IN THE NISSAN QUEST. VERY FRUSTRATING!!!

I GOT THE CAR TOWED TO THE SHOP . THERE WERE CO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT OR ANY CODES. THE SHOP AFTER TESTING THE FUEL PUMP AND OTHER THINGS FIGURED OUT IS WAS EMPTY ON GAS. ONCE WE PUT GAS, IT WAS GOOD TO GO. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD. WHAT IF IT HAPPENS ON A BUSY HIGHWAY WHERE I AM NOT ABLE TO PULL OVER TO THE SHOULDER. I SEE THAT THERE HAS BEEN SIMILAR COMPLAINTS, BUT THERE IS NO RE-CALL. PLEASE RE-OPEN THE CASE.

WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON DECEMBER 1, 2012, I CAME TO A STOP AT THE RED LIGHT. WHEN THE LIGHT CHANGED, I PUT MY FOOT ON THE GAS PEDAL AND IT MOVED SLIGHTLY THEN JUST COASTED, (THROUGH THE LIGHT) AND CAME TO A STOP IN THE RIGHT TURN LANE OF THE PARKING LOT. FORTUNATELY, THERE WERE ONLY A FEW CARS BEHIND ME AND I MADE IT THROUGH THE INTERSECTION. I TRIED TO START THE VEHICLE BUT TO NO AVAIL. I CALLED A TOW TRUCK AND THE LOCAL NISSAN DEALERSHIP TO LET THEM KNOW I WAS ON THE WAY. WHEN THE DRIVER ARRIVED, HE PUT MY VEHICLE ON THE TOW TRUCK AND DROVE TO THE KROGER GAS ISLAND IN THE PARKING LOT. HE PUT $5 IN THE TANK BUT NOTHING HAPPENED. AT THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP I EXPLAINED WHAT HAPPENED. THE INVOICE READS: CUSTOMER STATES THE CAR STALLED OUT CAUSE: GAS GAUGE SHORTED OUT AND STUCK ON 1 (THAT'S ALL THAT PRINTED). I HAD 1/2 TANK OF GAS WHEN THIS HAPPENED. I KEEP TRACK OF MILEAGE AND FILL-UPS. IT TOOK MORE DAYS TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM THAN INITIALLY DISCUSSED. THEY WOULD CALL AND LET US KNOW THAT SOMETHING DIDN'T WORK WHEN PROVIDING A STATUS UPDATE. FINALLY THEY TOLD US THEY BELIEVE THE PROBLEM TO BE FIXED. WE PICKED UP MY VEHICLE ON DECEMBER 6, 2012, AND PAID OVER $775 FOR THE REPAIRS. I HAVE TRIED TO CONTACT THE DEALERSHIP (LEFT VOICE MAIL, LEFT MESSAGE WITH PERSON, AND SENT EMAIL) BUT HAVEN'T HEARD BACK YET. I BELIEVE THE PROBLEM I EXPERIENCED IS THE SAME AS THE NOTIFICATION/ RECALL CAMPAIGN AND 1) MY VEHICLE SHOULD BE REVIEWED TO MAKE SURE THE PROBLEM IS 'CORRECTED' AND 2) A FULL REFUND TO BE MADE AS THIS INCIDENT IS IN LINE WITH THE DOCUMENTED INFORMATION IN THE RECALL CAMPAIGN. WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE ENGINE SUDDENLY CUT OFF AND STOPPED RUNNING. HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO NISSAN DEALER AND WAS TOLD FUEL PUMP HAD TO BE REPLACED COSTING $1163.31. THEN ON DECEMBER 15, 2014 WHILE DRIVING THE VEHICLE STALLED. HAD FUEL DELIVERED AND STARTED RIGHT UP, THE FUEL GAUGE INDICATED 1/4 TANK LEFT WHEN IT STALLED. ONCE FILLED I MONITORED USAGE AND CONCLUDED THE GAUGE IS OFF BY 1/4 TANK OR MORE. TRIED TO HAVE THIS COVERED AS PART OF THE PERVIOUS REPAIR BUT THEY COULD NOT COMMIT THAT THIS WAS PART OF THE PREVIOUS REPAIR. THEN IN JANUARY I RECEIVED NOTICE OF THE FUEL GAUGE RECALL PE14012. WHEN I CALLED THE DEALER THEY INDICATED MY VEHICLE VIN WAS NOT SHOWN TO HAVE A PROBLEM EVEN THOUGH I HAVE EXACTLY THE DESCRIBED PROBLEM. I HAVE JUST RECEIVED NOTICE THAT THIS NOW A KNOWN PROBLEM AND TO CALL THE DEALER TO SCHEDULE FUEL GAUGE REPAIR. HOW MANY OTHERS HAVE HAD A SIMILAR FAILURE WHICH I BELIEVE IS AN EXTENDED PART OF THIS RECALL. THE INITIAL REPAIR SHOULD BE PART OF THIS RECALL AND ANY CHARGED PAID FOR THIS SHOULD BE REFUNDED.

I WAS DRIVING FROM PEKIN TO WORK IN PEORIA AND NOTICED THAT I HAD A LITTLE LESS THAN 1/4 TANK OF FUEL SO I FIGURED I WOULD BE ABLE TO GET GAS ON THE WAY HOME. WHEN I CHECKED THE TRIP GAGE IT SAID THAT I HAD 8 MILES TO GO BEFORE I RAN OUT OF GAS. THAT IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE THAN WHAT MY GAS GAUGE SAID. I STOPPED AND GOT GAS IMMEDIATELY AND WHILE DOING SO I NOTICED THAT IT TOOK 17 GALLONS OF GAS. IF IT HAD ACTUALLY HAD A 1/4 TANK IN IT THERE IS NO WAY THAT I SHOULD BE ABLE TO PUT 17 GALLONS OF GAS IN AN 18 GALLON TANK. I HAVE CALLED MY NISSAN DEALERSHIP ABOUT IT AND WAS TOLD THERE WAS NO RECOLLECTION OF THIS BEING AN ISSUE. THIS ISN'T THE FIRST TIME IT HAS HAPPENED BUT I CANNOT REMEMBER THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED. SINCE THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING I HAVE BEEN KEEPING TRACK OF MY MILEAGE AND FILLING UP ACCORDING TO MY MILEAGE RECORDS. I HOPE THIS CAN GET FIXED SOON I AM A MOTHER AND THE LAST THING I WOULD WANT TO HAPPEN IS TO GET STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD WITH MY BABY IN THE CAR BECAUSE OF AN ERROR THAT WASN'T MY FAULT.

THE GAS GAUGE INDICATED THAT THE FUEL TANK HAD APPROXIMATELY 1/3 OF A TANK OF GAS REMAINING. I SPENT JUST A FEW MINUTE SEARCHING THE INTERNET FOR PEOPLE HAVING SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH THE SAME MAKE AND MODEL (2007 NISSAN QUEST). THE SEARCH UNCOVERED LOTS OF COMPLAINTS ABOUT FAULTY GAS GAUGES INDICATING IMPROPER FUEL LEVELS. SO I POURED A FEW GALLONS OF GAS INTO THE FUEL SYSTEM AND THE VEHICLE STARTED. I HAVE SINCE HAD THE VEHICLE QUIT RUNNING 2 MORE TIMES UNDER SIMILAR CIRCUMSTANCES. EACH TIME MORE FUEL IS ADDED AND THE VEHICLE STARTS WITH NO TROUBLE.

WE DO OUR BEST TO GET IT FILLED UP AT A HALF TANK, BUT THIS IS THE THIRD TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED IN A YEAR AND A HALF. WE'VE GOTTEN TWO LETTERS FROM NISSAN INFORMING US OF THE ISSUE, BUT IT'S STARTING TO APPEAR AS THOUGH NOTHING IS GOING TO BE DONE TO FIX THIS SAFETY ISSUE. HOPEFULLY SOMEONE DOESN'T HAVE TO DIE TO GET THEM TO STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. OBVIOUSLY THERE'S A DEFECT.

VEHICLE STALLED ON MORNING DRIVE TO WORK. OVER 1/4 TANK OF GAS ACCORDING TO GAS GAUGE. HAD VEHICLE TOWED TO AUTO REPAIR WHERE THEY DETERMINED IT WAS A FAILED FUEL PUMP. WHEN THE REMOVED THE GAS TANK TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP THE MECHANIC SAID THERE WAS VERY LITTLE GAS IN THE TANK. THEY REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP AND CHARGED ME $736.00. WHEN THEY TESTED THE ORIGINAL FUEL PUMP, IT OPERATED BELOW THE MANUFACTURERS SPECIFICATIONS. THE MECHANIC STATED THAT TRYING TO RESTART THE ENGINE WITH LITTLE GAS IN THE TANK (FAULTY GAS GAUGE) CAUSED THE ORIGINAL FUEL PUMP TO OVERHEAT.

YOU CLOSED THIS INVESTIGATION ON JANUARY 13, 2015 BASED ON NISSAN TELLING THE NHTSA THAT THEY WERE GOING TO DO SOMETHING TO RECTIFY THE ISSUE. ALL OF A SUDDEN MY VAN LOST THE ENGINE POWER AND STARTED SHAKING AND FINALLY COMPLETELY STOPPED AFTER FEW HICCUPS. I WAS ABLE TO MOVE IT IN THE MIDDLE TURNING LANE AS SOON AS IT STARTED SHAKING AND I REALIZED A PROBLEM. THIS SAVED ME AND OTHERS FROM BEING IN AN ACCIDENT. ALSO, I WAS AT A LOWER SPEED AND GOING UP HILL AND THAT HELPED ME MANAGE TO MOVE IN THE MIDDLE WITHOUT CAUSING AN ACCIDENT. WHEN I PUT SOME GAS FROM A CAN, I WAS ABLE TO START THE VEHICLE. SINCE THAT DAY, MY FUEL GAUGE IS NOT ACCURATE. I HAVE TO KEEP MY GAS FILLED UP JUST TO AVOID ANY SUCH HAPPENING AGAIN. I HAVE ALSO EXPERIENCED THAT SINCE I STARTED HAVING THIS PROBLEM MY VEHICLE ALSO STARTED ENGINE POWER LOSS AT LOWER SPEEDS. AT TIMES, IT LOOKS LIKE THE ENGINE IS GOING TO STOP AND THEN IT WILL GET A BIG JERK AND START TO MOVE NORMAL. AGAIN THE VAN WITHOUT WARNING SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY. THIS TIME IT WAS IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA. THE GAS GAUGE SHOWED 1/4 TANK AND CENTER CONSOLE COMPUTER READ 66 MILES TO EMPTY. I PLACED 5 GALLONS IN AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP. THIS IS DANGEROUS BECAUSE THE FUEL LIGHT DOESN'T COME ON AND THERE IS NO WARNING WHEN THE CAR WILL SHUT DOWN. I WAS LEFT STRANDED ON A ROADSIDE AGAIN. THE THIRD TIME WAS THE SAME AS THE FIRST TWO TIMES. I WASN'T STRANDED THE THIRD TIME BECAUSE I NOW HAVE TO DRIVE WITH A FILLED PORTABLE GAS CAN IN THE CARGO AREA. I CONTACTED NISSAN NORTH AMERICA & EVEN THOUGH THERE IS AN AGREED VOLUNTARY RECALL FOR THIS SAME PROBLEM WITH THE 2007 NISSAN QUEST, I WAS TOLD THAT MY 2007 NISSAN QUEST WAS NOT RECALLED FOR THE CONFIRMED PROBLEM. *TR

THE OTHER DAY I FILLED UP WHEN IT READ 1/2 TANK. HOWEVER, I PUT 16.5 GALLONS IN THE TANK. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN BELOW THE E MARK! TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 NISSAN QUEST. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE INDICATOR DISPLAYED INACCURATE INFORMATION AND AS A RESULT THE VEHICLE STALLED AND BEGAN TO HESITATE BECAUSE THE FUEL TANK WAS EMPTY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL GAUGE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 92,000.

I WAS TRAVELING ON A STATE ROAD AT APPROX. 50 MPH. I WAS BEGINNING TO START A CURVY HILL AND PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL WITH NO RESPONSE. THERE WAS NO ENGINE REVVING HEARD AND THE TACHOMETER HAD DROPPED TO ZERO AND ALL DASH LIGHTS WERE ON AS IF I HAD JUST TURNED THE KEY TO THE 'ON' POSITION TO START IT. THERE WAS NO LOW FUEL LIGHT AND THE FUEL GAUGE INDICATED 1/4 TANK. I TRIED TURNING THE ENGINE OVER, BUT IT WOULDN'T CRANK AS IF IT WAS OUT OF GAS. THANKFULLY THERE WAS NO ONE BEHIND ME COMING AROUND THE BLIND CURVE OR ELSE SOMEONE WOULD HAVE BEEN SEVERELY INJURED OR WORSE. I PRESSED THE TRIP BUTTON SEVERAL TIMES ON THE DATA DISPLAY AND IT WAS FLASHING ASTERISK AS IF IT WAS OUT OF GAS. I WALKED 2 MILES TO A GAS STATION AND PUT A GALLON OF GAS IN THE TANK AND THE CAR VAN CRANKED RIGHT UP WHICH INDICATED THE VAN WAS OUT OF GAS, BUT THE FUEL GAUGE AND LOW FUEL LIGHT WAS FAULTY. THIS HAS OCCURRED 3 OTHER TIMES WITH MY WIFE DRIVING ALONE. ONCE WAS ON A U.S. HWY. IT APPEARS THERE'S A BAD FUSE OR BAD SENSOR, BUT WE'RE NOT SURE AND I'VE NOT SEEN ANY RECALLS ON THIS. NOW WE JUST HAVE TO KEEP AN EYE ON THE DATA DISPLAY ONCE THE FUEL HITS A HALF TANK. IT'S JUST NOT SOMETHING YOU THINK TO DO WHILE DRIVING. I AT LEAST WISH THE TRIP DISPLAY WOULD POP UP AS A LOW FUEL BACKUP, BUT WHEN YOUR CHILDREN ARE WATCHING A DVD OR THE RADIO IS ON AND YOU'RE CONCENTRATING ON DRIVING YOU DON'T THINK TO PRESS THE TRIP BUTTON TO CHECK THE DTE. I WISH SOMEONE WOULD COME UP WITH A SOLUTION OR SHOW A RECALL. WE ARE DESPERATE AND AFRAID SOMEONE WILL EITHER BE INJURED OR IT WILL DO DAMAGE TO THE VAN. IN APRIL 2012 THE NISSAN QUEST STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF TRAFFIC - THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSED THAT THE FUEL PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED ALONG WITH THE SENSOR - CHARGED $694.00. ON JULY 8TH THE CAR STOPPED AND THE FUEL GAUGE INDICATED A HALF A TANK OF GAS. I PUT GAS IN THE CAR BUT THE GAUGE DID NOT MOVE. IN RESEARCHING THIS ISSUE THERE WAS A RECALL ON THE 2007 NISSAN QUEST BECAUSE OF THE FUEL GAUGE. NISSAN UNWILLING TO REPAIR VEHICLE. THE FIRST TIME THIS OCCURRED IT WAS VERY DANGEROUS, VEHICLE STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY ROAD - POLICE HAD TO BE CALLED TO GET MY WIFE AND DAUGHTER OUT OF VAN UNTIL VEHICLE COULD BE TOLLED. NISSAN STATES MY VIN # IS NOT ONE OF THE RECALLED 2007 NISSAN QUEST VANS. IF YOU HAVE A RECALL ALL VANS SHOULD BE COVERED AND HOW DO THEY GET TO PICK AND CHOOSE WHICH ONES. *TR

PROBLEMS WITH THE FUEL PUMP/SYSTEM HAVE OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES. ON OR ABOUT 1/6/2013, WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH AND COMING TO A LIGHT, THE CAR TURNED OFF. THE GAUGE SHOWED 1/4 TANK. THE MECHANIC REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP AND ADDED 1 GALLON OF GAS. NEXT DAY, THE SAME THING HAPPENED AS APPROACHING A RED LIGHT. FUEL LEVEL STILL AT 1/4 TANK. MECHANIC ADDED GAS AND THE CAR STARTED. GAS GAUGE IS INACCURATE AND DANGEROUS. IN FEBRUARY 2013, ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, AFTER DRIVING/PARKING THE VAN, IT WOULD START AND THEN TURN OFF, START AND THEN TURN OFF. I WAS ABLE TO GET IT TO RUN BY GIVING IT GAS AS SOON AS IT STARTED. ON 3/13/2013, AFTER DRIVING THE VAN AND PARKING IT, IT WOULD NOT START. IT KEPT CRANKING, BUT NOTHING. MECHANIC FOUND ELECTRICAL PROBLEM IN THE WIRING AND WAS ABLE TO FIX IT. ON 3/28/2013, THE CAR STARTED AND THE FUEL GAUGE DROPPED TO EMPTY WITH SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT ON. VAN HAD A FULL TANK OF GAS. MECHANIC REPLACED THE FUEL PUMP AND SAID THERE IS AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM WITH THE FUEL PUMP GROUNDING. ON A NISSAN FORUM I DISCOVERED THE FOLLOWING RECALL: "THE RECALL AFFECTS 2005 - 2008 NISSAN TITAN, ARMADA AND INFINITI QX56S AS WELL AS NISSAN FRONTIER PICKUPS AND PATHFINDER AND XTERRA SUVS PRODUCED BETWEEN JANUARY AND MARCH 2006 AND BETWEEN OCTOBER 2007 AND JANUARY 2008. DUE TO A PROBLEM WITH A SENSOR INSIDE THE FUEL TANK, THE GAUGES CAN SHOW GAS TANKS A QUARTER FULL WHEN THEY ARE IN FACT EMPTY." I THINK THE NISSAN QUEST SHOULD ALSO BE RECALLED BECAUSE THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS AND DANGEROUS PROBLEM WHICH IS ENDEMIC TO THESE CARS. *TR

THE ENGINE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING DUE TO THE EMPTY FUEL TANK LEVEL. THE VEHICLE WAS REFUELED AND RESUMED NORMALLY. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED.
