Will not go up hill only 40 mph had the transmission rebuild still only 40 mph
AWD Lock kicking on by its self while driving. Catilac converter issues.
Sudden loss of power while driving on highway after a few hours. Car cannot exceed 40 MPH.
The transmission shudders, jerks, whines, roars loudly. Yes it’s available for inspection. I was driving up a hill with my grand children in the car, and it started shuddering. Didn’t seem to be getting gas at all. The tank was full. Then it started rolling backwards down the hill. Needless to say my grand children were scared to death as I was also. No I haven’t spoken to anyone about the problem, as I don’t know who to talk to? Nobody has looked at it yet. I figured the transmission went, so I haven’t bothere$ with reaching out, until a friend told me hers did the exact same thing. So we looked it up. Yes it seemed to be shuddering before but never lost power and rolled backwards. There were no warning lights, or signs of it quitting. There was no acceleration at all. Just slowly lost power. It was still running but when you push the gas pedal you got nothing. Not even the reving of the motor!03/29

THE CONTACT HAD TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO SEVERAL INDEPENDENT MECHANICS WHO ALL LINKED HER FAILURE TO THE CVT TRANSMISSION. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT HAD TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO SEVERAL UNKNOWN DEALERS HOWEVER, EACH DEALER ASKED FOR A DIAGNOSTIC FEE WHICH SHE DECLINED EACH TIME. THE MANUFACTURER HAD YET TO BE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 105,000.

I HAVE A 2008 NISSAN ROGUE. HAVE HAD IT LESS THAN A YEAR. 3 DAYS AGO, WITHOUT WARNING, THE TRANSMISSION STARTED SHAKING AND JERKING WHEN I WAS TAKING OFF FROM A RED LIGHT ON THE WAY TO TAKE MY DAUGHTER TO SCHOOL. PULLED OFF THE HIGHWAY AND SAT A COUPLE MINS, SINCE I WASNT SURE WHAT WAS HAPPENING. AS I TRIED TO PULL BACK ONTO THE HIGHWAY THE ROGUE WOULDNT GO. HAD TO HAVE IT TOWED BACK HOME. HAD A TECHNICIAN PUT MY VEHICLE ON A COMPUTER. THE TRANSMISSION IS OUT OF IT.

WE TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO VAVOLINE AND THEY TOLD US THAT THE CAR'S TRANSMISSION PAN IS ALMOST RUSTED OUT AND WE HAVE A 4 MAJOR LEAKS UNDER OUR VEHICLE SO BAD THAT THE BLOCK UNDER THE VEHICLE AND THE FRONT AXEL IS WET FROM THE FLUID LEAKS. WE BOUGHT THE CAR TWO DAYS AGO AND BROUGHT IT BACK TO RETURN IT TODAY BECAUSE WE WERE NOT TOLD ABOUT ANY OF THESE ISSUES AND THEY TOLD US WE WERE NOT GOING TO GET OUR MONEY BACK. EVEN THOUGH IT WOULD NOT PASS A STATE EMISSIONS TEST WITH ALL THOSE LEAKS AND SHE NOT HAVE BEEN SOLD TO US.
STARTED VEHICLE AND DROVE WELL. STOPPED AT AN INTERSECTION AND WHEN IT WAS MY TURN TO GO CAR RPMS WERE HIGH BUT CAR WOULDN'T MOVE. THE LIGHT CHANGE AND I FOUND MYSELF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION AND CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. I TOOK MY FOOT OF GAS AND THEN IT JUST SPED UP AND I HAD TO USE THE BREAKS TO MAKE IT SLOW DOWN. ALSO IT WOULD SLOWDOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY WHICH IS DANGEROUS CAUSE SPEED LIMIT WAS 70MPH AND I COULDN'T MOVE THE CAR TO GET IT OUT OF THE WAY.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 36672455. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 120,000.

BOUGHT CAR IN 2012 WITH 64,000 MILES. IN OCTOBER OF 2017 , WITH 121,000 MILES NOTICED A GRINDING NOISE WHEN TAKING OFF TOOK TO NISSAN DEALERSHIP , WAS INFORMED THAT TRANSMISSION WAS BAD. REPLACED TRANSMISSION FOR $3700. IN JUNE OF 2019 WITH 138,000 MILES STARTED HAVING A VIBRATION IN THE FRONT WHEN TAKING OFF IN BETWEEN 1500 AND 2500 RPM WAS TOLD THAT TRANSMISSION WAS SEVERELY DAMAGED IN THE INSIDE, THE PUMP WAS NOT WORKING AND METAL SHAVINGS. I AM WITHOUT A JOB AND HAD TO TAKE MY SEVERANCE PAY TO PAY $4,107 TO REPLACE ANOTHER TRANSMISSION. THAT DID NOT INCLUDE THE RIGHT TIE ROD THAT I CONSTANTLY HAVE TO REPLACE WHICH SEEMS TO GO OUT EVERY YEAR. FIXING BOTH LOWER CONTROL ARMS AND THE REAR SUSPENSION AT OVER $1200.00 THE WEEK BEFORE THE TRANSMISSION. THIS CAR IS WELL TAKEN CARE OF OIL CHANGES EVERY 3,000 MILES AND CONSTANT UPKEEP.

DRIVING ON A BUSY EXPRESSWAY, THERE WAS SUDDENLY A LOUD CLANGING UNDER THE CHASSIS. I STARTED DRIVING SLOWLY AND AGAIN THERE WAS AN EXTREMELY LOUD BANGING AGAINST THE CHASSIS. PULLED OF THE EXPRESSWAY WHEN THE CAR SUDDENLY STARTED SLOWING DOWN. WHEN I STARTED TO PULL INTO THE FIRST MINIMALL I COULD FIND, THE CAR STARTED MOVING BACKWARDS AND NONE OF THE GEARS WOULD WORK. COULD NOT TAKE MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE AS THE CAR CONTINUED TO GO REVERSE INTO TRAFFIC. FINALLY AFTER GETTING ASSISTANCE FROM SEVERAL PEOPLE HELPING ME GET THE CAR INTO THE PARKING LOT, I WAS ABLE TO BE TOWED TO MY GARAGE, WHERE IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE DRIVE SHAFT HAD BROKEN OFF, KNOCKING OFF A PIECE OF THE OD SENSOR AND THEN KNOCKED OUT THE EXHAUST PIPE WHICH THEN SNAPPED OFF THE SHIFT ASSEMBLY CABLE AND ALL THE GEARS. MY MECHANIC HAS NEVER SEEN ANYTHING AS BAD AS THIS. THE CAR IS COMPLETELY UNDRIVEABLE AND I SHUDDER TO THINK WHAT COULD HAVE HAPPENED TO MY FAMILY AND MYSELF AS WE COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. CURRENTLY MY CAR IS STILL AT THE MECHANIC'S WHERE HE IS WAITING FOR A DECISION FROM ME AS TO WHAT TO DO WITH THE CAR WHICH WILL COST $3,000 TO REPAIR WHICH IS WHAT THE TRADE VALUE IS ON THE CAR AND WHAT THE CAR WAS WORTH. THEY PAY FOR TRANSMISSION BUT 300+ OTHER STUFF I HAVE TO PAY. SO I'M OUT 800+ $ FRANKLY I DONT REALLY HAVE. I KNOW COULD BE WORSE BUT THIS IS UNEXPECTED $ I HAD TO PAY PLUS KEEP UP ON REGULAR BILL'S. IN ADDITION, IT WAS STATED THAT THE TSB: 14002A REPAIR OF THE OIL COOLER KIT AND THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT INFORMED THE DEALER THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN THE CVT WARRANTY EXTENSION; HOWEVER, THE DEALER INDICATED THAT THE REPAIRS WERE NOT RELATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND STATED THAT THE DEALER FAILED TO PROVIDE A PERMANENT REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT ISSUED A TRANSMISSION RECALL, BUT ISSUED EIGHT TSBS FOR THE POWER TRAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,449.

THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED WHILE THE FAILURE OCCURRED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO COAST THE VEHICLE ONTO THE ROAD SHOULDER AND ATTEMPTED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, BUT WAS UNSUCCESSFUL. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE AND THEN BACK TO ZIMBRICK NISSAN ON NOVEMBER 10, 2017 WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED. THE DEALER ADVISED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 85077. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OVER THE REPAIR MILEAGE. THE NISSAN MANUFACTURER IS A JOKE, I DEALT WITH A WOMAN WHO LITERALLY FAILED TO INFORM ME THAT NISSAN NEVER REPORTED THAT I WAS THE NEW OWNER OF THE CAR. HENCE LAST YEAR MY CAR LITERALLY ROLLED BACKWARDS WHILE I ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE UP HILL, RIGHT INTO TRAFFIC , POTENTIAL TO BE A DEADLY ACCIDENT , NOTING THE VARIETY OF COMPLAINTS I BELIEVE THAT THEIR WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO DIE. FUCILLO NISSAN REFUSED TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSION, INSTEAD THE SEALED IT . TWO WEEKS LATER THE SAME THING HAPPENED ON THE HIGHWAY, AND OF COURSE THEY REFUSED TO FIX IT TRYING TO EXPLAIN, HOW A CVT TRANSMISSION WORKS, AND THEN HE WENT AS FAR AS SAYING I HAVE TO GET USED TO IT. NISSAN IS A JOKE AND AS LONG AS THEY COULD GET AWAY WITH SELLING DEFECTIVE CARS AND NOT HONORING THEIR VERY OWN RECALLS THEY WILL, BILLY FUCILLO NEEDS HIS LICENCE SNATCHED, THEIR A BUNCH OF CROOKS, WHOM ARE DANGEROUS TO THE PUBLIC.

PLEASE PROVIDE MORE ECONOMIC SOLUTION.

YOU DO NOT KNOW IT IS HAPPENING UNTIL YOU ARE ALREADY IN THE INTERSECTION AS IT FEELS NORMAL WHEN YOU FIRST HIT THE GAS, AND THEN IT GOES INTO WHAT IS BEST DESCRIBED AS A VERY LOW GEAR. SOMEONE IS GOING TO DIE FROM THIS. NISSAN IS AWARE OF THIS ISSUE AND EXTENDED ITS WARRANTY ON THE CVT TO 10 YEARS AND 120,000 MILE, BUT NEVER ISSUED A RECALL THAT I AM AWARE. UNFORTUNATELY, THIS ISSUE DID NOT OCCUR WITH MY VEHICLE UNTIL AFTER THE MILEAGE STATED. IT MAY HAVE TO DO WITH TRANSMISSION FLUID TEMPERATURE AND A FAIL SAFE MODE. IT WAS CALLED A CVT PROBLEM BUT IN 2013 IT WAS STILL UNDER EXTENDED WARRANTY SO A NEW TRANSMISSION WAS PUT IN FREE OF CHARGE. THIS TIME I AM ASK TO PAY FOR A TRANSMISSION OUT OF POCKET THAT I KNOW IS DEFECTIVE AND IT WILL CAUSE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT ONE DAY. SHE ALSO SAID SHE HAD NOT CHANGED THE OIL IN A WHILE, SO I THOUGHT THAT'S WHAT HER PROBLEM WAS. SHE THEN CHANGED THE OIL, AND CONTINUED TELLING ME THAT IT WOULD JUST STOP ACCELERATING, AND SHE SAID SHE WAS SCARED TO DRIVE IT, BECAUSE SHE FELT SHE WOULD GET INTO AN ACCIDENT. HER SCHOOL IS IN SOUTH CENTRAL UTAH, AND THE CLOSEST NISSAN SERVICE CENTER WAS 100 + MILES AWAY, SO I RECOMMENDED SHE TAKE IT TO THE LOCAL MECHANIC, WHO FILLED IT WITH TRANSMISSION FLIUD. I THEN TOLD HER TO TAKE IT TO THE NEAREST TRANSMISSION SHOP, (PROVO, 100 + MILES AWAY), AND HE TOLD US ABOUT THE NISSAN CVT TRANSMISSION ISSUES, AND IT WOULD BE $3900 TO REPLACE. THE CAR NOW HAS 123,900 MILES ON IT. AFTER RESEARCHING, AND FINDING OUT THAT NISSAN EXTENDED THE WARRANTY TO 120,000 MILES, WHICH I KNEW THAT THE CAR WAS OVER THE WARRANTY, BUT DECIDED TO HAVE IT TOWED TO KEN GARFF NISSAN, NEARBY. THE VERDICT, REPLACE THE CVT TRANSMISSION AT MY EXPENSE, FOR $4600. I TOLD THE TECHNICIAN THAT WHAT'S THE USE OF PAYING THAT MUCH MONEY, AND THEN HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM HAPPEN AGAIN. HE EXPLAINED THAT NOW THEY ALSO INSTALL A CVT COOLING UNIT, WHICH IS SUPPOSE TO FIX THE PROBLEMS. I LET HIM KNOW THAT THAT'S WHAT NISSAN SHOULD HAVE ORIGINALLY DONE, RECALL THE TRANSMISSION, AND INSTALL THE COOLING UNIT. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED NISSAN CONSUMER AFFAIRS, AND FILED A COMPLAINT. THEY CALLED THE NEXT DAY, (TODAY), AND SAID THEY COULD NOT DO ANYTHING, AND CLOSED THE CASE! THE INVESTIGATOR SAID THAT THIS ONLY HAPPENED IN THE ROUGES FROM 2003 THROUGH 2010. I LET HIM KNOW THAT THAT WAS NOT TRUE, AND IS HAPPENING TO SEVERAL OTHER MODELS WITH THE CVT TRANSMISSION, UP TO 2015! HE SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO BUT TO PUT ME IN A NEW VEHICLE!

EVERY TIME I HAD TO ACCELERATE AFTER A STOP LIGHT OR STOP SIGN, THE CAR WOULD NOT INITIALLY ACCELERATE DESPITE ME PUSHING FULL DOWN ON THE ACCELERATOR. THIS REPEATEDLY ALMOST RESULTED IN MY BEING HIT BY CARS BEHIND ME. I WAS ABLE TO SLOWLY MAKE IT HOME. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER I BOUGHT IT FROM, AND WAS TOLD THAT THE CVT TRANSMISSION HAD FAILED. I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT I AM BEYOND THE WARRANTY EXTENSION (ABOUT 9,000 MILES PAST THE 120,000 EXTENSION), SO I WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST OF REPLACING THE TRANSMISSION. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THIS HAS NOT BEEN A RECALL WITH THE # OF COMPLAINTS ALL ABOUT THE SAME ISSUE. ALSO, IF THE MANUFACTURER HAS EXTENDED THE WARRANTY, DOESN'T THAT MEAN THEY MUST BE AWARE THAT IT IS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM?! THE 2008 NISSAN ROGUE WE PURCHASED IN MARCH 2009 HAS EXPERIENCED CONTINUAL CVT TRANSMISSION FAILURES. THE FIRST FAILURE WAS MAY 2009 AND THE CVT WAS REPLACED. THE PART WAS FOUND TO BE MALFUNCTIONING AFTER DETERMINING THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SHIFTING PROPERLY AND WAS EXPERIENCING HIGH RPMS WHILE DRIVING. THE CVT WAS REPLACED AGAIN IN APRIL 2014 AFTER LOSING FUNCTIONALITY IN A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. THE FAILURE OF THE TRANSMISSION OCCURRED WHILE TRAVELING AT HIGH SPEEDS ON THE EXPRESSWAY AT WHICH POINT THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY EXPERIENCED HEIGHTENED RPMS, BEGAN DECELERATING AND WOULD NOT ACCELERATE GREATER THAN 20MPH. WE SAFELY EXITED THE EXPRESSWAY AT AN APPROACHING EXIT AND COASTED TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP LESS THAN THREE BLOCKS FROM THE EXPRESSWAY EXIT. NISSAN RECENTLY ALERTED US THAT THE CURRENT CVT TRANSMISSION IN OUR VEHICLE WILL NEED TO BE REPLACED AGAIN DESPITE HAVING ONLY 20,000 MILES SINCE THE REPLACEMENT IN 2014. NISSAN HAS DECLINED TO COVER THIS FAULTY PART IN THE VEHICLE AND HAS OFFERED INSTEAD TO PROVIDE A LONGER WARRANTY IF WE PURCHASE A BRAND NEW VEHICLE INSTEAD. IF THE CVT FAILS IN THIS VEHICLE, IT WILL HAVE BEEN THE THIRD TRANSMISSION DURING OUR OWNERSHIP OF THE VEHICLE, REQUIRING A FOURTH TO BE INSTALLED.

SHE SAID THAT THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE AND FINALLY STARTED TO MOVE VERY SLOWLY. SHE WAS TERRIFIED AND CRYING. I AM REALLY TIRED OF THIS AND REALLY ITS UNACCEPTABLE. SEEMS TO OCCUR MOST OFTEN WHEN DRIVING TO A HIGHER ELEVATION AFTER AN HOUR OR MORE OF CONTINUOUS OPERATION. WHEN MALFUNCTION OCCURS, ENGINE WILL NOT EXCEED 2500-3000 RPMS EVEN WITH GAS PEDAL FULLY DEPRESSED. THIS HAPPENED FIRST IN JANUARY 2014 AND I TOOK IT TO NISSAN DEALER IN ALBUQUERQUE WHO SAID NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH TRANSMISSION. VEHICLE WORKED FINE FOR OVER A YEAR AND TWO MONTHS AGO AGAIN STARTED WITH THIS PROBLEM. MALFUNCTION IS INTERMITTENT, BUT RECENTLY MORE FREQUENT. I BROUGHT IT TO A NISSAN DEALER IN LAS CRUCES NM BUT THEY DIDNT HAVE A TRANSMISSION TECH IN THAT DAY. I WAS CHARGED A $120 DIAGNOSTIC FEE AND TOLD THEY COULD FIND NOTHING WRONG BUT TO BRING IT BACK ON A DAY WHEN TRANSMISSION TECH WILL BE IN. ITS AN HOUR AND HALF DRIVE FOR ME EACH WAY. FROM READING THE CAR FORUMS, THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THIS PARTICULAR MODEL, WHERE THE CVT TRANSMISSION APPARENTLY OVER-HEATS AND PUTS THE CAR INTO "LIMP" MODE. THE FIX HAS BEEN TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSIONS AND INSTALL AN ADDITIONAL TRANSMISSION COOLER, HOWEVER MANY DEALERS TRY TO CHARGE THE CUSTOMER FOR THE COOLER, AND THE NISSAN FACTORY IS NOW HESITANT TO REPLACE THE TRANSMISSIONS EVEN THOUGH THEIR LONGEVITY AND RELIABILITY HAS UNDOUBTEDLY BEEN COMPROMISED IF THE OVER-HEATING PROBLEM WAS EXPERIENCED. WHEN I FOUND OUT THAT ABOUT THE WARRANTY I CALLED NISSAN CONSUMER CARE TO INQUIRE ABOUT THIS. I WAS TOLD MY MODEL AND MAKE QUALIFIED UNDER WARRANTY AND THAT MILEAGE DIDN'T MATTER. NISSAN DECIDED NOT TO ASSIST ME WITH REPAIR AND REPLACEMENT OF TRANSMISSION. I TRIED TO TELL NISSAN ABOUT LETTER THAT STATED THEY WOULD DECREASE COST EVEN ABOVE 120K. THEY REFUSED TO DO SO. I HAD NO WARNING SENSORS THAT THERE WAS PROBLEM WITH TRANSMISSION. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A BAD ACCIDENT IF THE TRANSMISSION HAD OF WENT OUT DURING HEAVY TRAFFIC. OTHER TIMES I HAVE BEEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP LIGHT AND HAVE HAD THE CAR COME ALMOST TO A STOP. I HAVE ALMOST BEEN REAR ENDED THREE TIMES. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING AT A CONSTANT SPEED ON THE FREEWAY AND HAD THE CAR DROP FROM 65 MPH DOWN TO 40 MPH IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. AGAIN ALMOST CAUSING A MAJOR WRECK IN HEAVY TRAFFIC. THANKFULLY WE WERE ABLE TO MAKE IT BACK HOME AND IMMEDIATELY TOOK IT TO A NISSAN DEALERSHIP. AGAIN, IT WAS THE SAME ISSUE WITH THIS TRANSMISSION AND AGAIN WE GOT IT REPLACED. WE WERE TOLD BY THE NISSAN MECHANIC THAT THE PHOENIX HEAT QUICKLY CAUSES THE CVT TRANSMISSION TO BREAK DOWN AND TOLD US THAT IT WILL LIKELY HAPPEN AGAIN WITHIN TWO YEARS. IT WAS AT THIS POINT THAT WE DECIDED TO CONTACT NISSAN AND PUSH FOR A LIFETIME WARRANTY ON THIS TRANSMISSION. WE CAN'T AFFORD IT FINANCIALLY AND WE DON'T WANT TO RISK IT AND CONTINUE ON WITH OUR VEHICLE IF WE KNOW THAT IF WE PUSH IT, IT COULD BE UNSAFE. I ESCALATED THIS ISSUE THROUGH THEIR CONSUMER AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT, BUT AFTER SPEAKING WITH THEIR REPRESENTATIVES, I WAS TOLD THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THAT THEY COULD DO. NOT ONLY THAT, BUT THEY CONTRADICTED THEIR OWN MECHANIC AND REFUSED TO ADMIT THAT THIS IS A REAL ISSUE. INSTEAD THEY OPTED FOR A LETS WAIT AND SEE APPROACH. FOR INSTANCE, IF I WAS DRIVING WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ON, IT WOULD SHUT OFF AND GRADUALLY START TO DECELERATE. STEPPING ON THE GAS DID NOTHING. IN SOME CASES, I WOULD BE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY ONLY ABLE TO GO ABOUT 25 MPH. ADDITIONALLY, WHEN COMING TO A COMPLETE STOP, FOR EXAMPLE WHEN EXITING THE HIGHWAY AND WAITING AT A LIGHT, THE CAR IS VERY SLOW TO RESPOND TO START MOVING AGAIN. AFTER TAKING MY CAR TO THREE DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS, NISSAN FINALLY BEGAN TO ACKNOWLEDGE THERE WAS AN SYSTEM ISSUE (NOT AFTER MAKING ME SPEND $400+ FOR A TRANSMISSION FLUSH). THEY SAID THAT THE COMBINATION OF ELEVATION, HEAT AND HIGH SPEEDS WAS CAUSING THE TRANSMISSION TO OVERHEAT AND GO INTO "FAIL SAFE" MODE. FINALLY LAST SUMMER (JULY 2012) NISSAN REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION IN THE VEHICLE. NOW, ONE YEAR LATER AND ONLY 20,000 MILES ON THE NEW TRANSMISSION, I AM HAVING THE SAME ISSUES. MOST BOTHERSOME, HOWEVER WAS THE LAST FEW TIMES THIS HAS HAPPENED, IT WAS NOT HOT AND I WAS NOT DRIVING IN THE MOUNTAINS. AFTER 30 MINUTES OF DRIVING ABOUT 82 MPH WITH 65 DEGREE WEATHER, I LOST ALL POWER TO THE VEHICLE. I HAD TO MERGE WITH TRAFFIC THAT WAS MOVING AT LEAST 70 MPH AND I WAS ONLY ABLE TO MOVE AT 40 MPH. WHEN GETTING OFF THE HIGHWAY AT THE END OF THE EXIT THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE WHEN PRESSING ON THE GAS. 5 SECONDS LATER THE CAR THRUSTED INTO THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AS POWER KICKED BACK IN. AFTER SEVERAL PHONE CALLS TO NISSAN AND TRIPS TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION AT AROUND 60,000 MILES. CARE WAS GOOD FOR ABOUT 8 MONTHS BUT STARTED HAVING SAME ISSUE. HAVE HAD THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP 10 - 12 TIMES WITH SAME ISSUE AND TO THIS DAY IT HAS NOT BEEN FIXED. THEY USUALLY STATE THEY CAN NOT REPLICATE THE ISSUE. TEST DROVE THE CAR WITH THEIR TOP MECHANIC AND GOT THE ACCELERATION ISSUE TO HAPPEN. I PURCHASED A NEW 2008 NISSAN ROGUE SL AWD IN MARCH OF 08. IT HAS 3100 MILES ON IT. ABOUT A MONTH AGO I STARTED HEARING A RATTLE COMING FROM WHAT SOUNDED LIKE UNDER THE FRONT OF THE CAR. I BROUGHT IT INTO THE DEALER, THEY STATED THEY COULD NOT HEAR ANYTHING ON THE TEST DRIVE. AS DAYS WENT BY THE NOISE GOT LOUDER. I BROUGHT IT BACK AGAIN, THIS TIME I WENT WITH THE TECH. HE HEARD IT. AFTER HOURS OF LOOKING AT THE CAR THEY DECIDED, THEY NEEDED TO KEEP THE CAR FOR A DAY OR TWO TO DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE. I GOT A RENTAL AND THEY HAD IT FOR A DAY AND A HALF. I STARTED READING UP ON THIS ON ROGUE FORUMS AND THE ARE 100'S OVER PEOPLE HAVING THIS SAME PROBLEM. SVC MGR TOLD ME THE PROBLEM WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE TRANSMISSION TNAT NISSAN USA WAS AWARE OF, AND THEY WERE GOING TO REPLACE IT. THEY THOUGHT THE CAR WAS SAFE TO DRIVE SINCE THERE HAD NOT BEEN REPORTED FAILURES. SO, THEY GAVE ME THE CAR BACK WHILE I WAITED FOR THE NEW TRANNY. A WEEK LATER AFTER NOT HEARING FROM THE DEALER, I CALLED AND WAS TOLD, AS IT TURNS OUT THEY WERE NOT GOING TO REPLACE THE TRANNY BECAUSE IT HAS BEEN DONE IN OTHER ROGUES AND NOT FIXED THE ISSUE. HE STATED, THERE IS NO FIX, BUT NISSAN IS WORKING ON THE PROBLEM. WHEN I VOICED MY CONCERNS OVER THE POSSIBILITY OF A FAILURE ON A HIGHWAY AT HIGH SPEEDS, HE SAID..WELL THERE HAVEN'T BEEN ANY YET!! AS I STATED THERE ARE MANY MANY ROGUE OWNERS WITH THIS PROBLEM. SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE TO FORCE NISSANS HAND.
