AFTER DRIVING THE VEHICLE, THE RPM WILL SKYROCKET AND THE VEHICLE WILL NOT MOVE FORWARD. WE HAVE TO TURN THE VEHICLE OFF AND LET IT SIT FOR A FEW HOURS BEFORE IT DRIVES NORMALLY AGAIN. LATELY THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN BUCKING WHEN SHIFTING FROM REVERSE TO DRIVE.

After driving roughly two hours on highway in stop and go rush hour traffic, our 2008 Nissan Rogue lost its ability to accelerate and the RPM would go only slightly above 2000. There were no dashboard warning lights. We pulled over at a rest stop and turned off the engine for ten minutes but the problem persisted. We had to get off the freeway and take back roads out of concern for our safety. We reached our destination, the then car sat for several hours and behaved normally for about an hour on the way back, but then the problem recurred. We only drove short distances for the next month, but on our next long drive the same thing happened again. Our mechanic found no engine codes and does not know what is causing the problem. This all happened only about 3000 miles after we had a new OEM transmission installed. For over two months, we have been unable to take any long trips with this car out of concern for both our ability to complete the trip and for our safety as well as the safety of others.

STARTED VEHICLE AND DROVE WELL. STOPPED AT AN INTERSECTION AND WHEN IT WAS MY TURN TO GO CAR RPMS WERE HIGH BUT CAR WOULDN'T MOVE. THE LIGHT CHANGE AND I FOUND MYSELF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION AND CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. I TOOK MY FOOT OF GAS AND THEN IT JUST SPED UP AND I HAD TO USE THE BREAKS TO MAKE IT SLOW DOWN. ALSO IT WOULD SLOWDOWN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY WHICH IS DANGEROUS CAUSE SPEED LIMIT WAS 70MPH AND I COULDN'T MOVE THE CAR TO GET IT OUT OF THE WAY.

TODAY I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY GOING A STEADY SPEED OF ABOUT 70 MPH FOR ABOUT 30-40 CONSECUTIVE MINUTES. MY 2008 NISSAN ROGUE SL BEGAN TO DECELERATE SLOWLY. I BEGAN TO PRESS GRADUALLY ON THE GAS PEDAL. AS I DID THIS, THE CAR MADE A WEIRD SOUND AS IF IT WAS TRYING TO SHUT OFF. AT THIS POINT MY FOOT WAS PRESSED TO THE FLOOR ON THE GAS PEDAL AND THE CARS RPM WAS GOING AS HIGH AS 4000 BUT THE CAR ITSELF WAS NOT ACCELERATING OVER 50 MPH. ALL OF THIS HAPPENING WHILE I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY AT AROUND 6:30 PM. I COULD HAVE EASILY GOTTEN INTO AN ACCIDENT. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS HAS HAPPEN EITHER. A FEW TIMES I HAVE BEEN AT A COMPLETE STOP AT A RED LIGHT OR COMING OFF OF THE HIGHWAY RAMP AND THE CAR WILL TAKE 10-15 SECONDS TO ACCELERATE AND TAKE OFF! THIS IS SERIOUSLY DANGEROUS BUT CAN ALSO BE QUITE ANNOYING FOR THE CAR BEHIND ME. ALL THIS HAPPENING WITH NO WARNING LIGHTS ON MY DASH, I HAVE GOTTEN THE CAR CHECKED OUT BUT TO NO AVAIL NO CODES ARE COMING UP AND MY CAR SEEMS TO BE FINE. I HONESTLY BELIEVE THIS IS A GLITCH IN THE SOFTWARE OR SYSTEM. I HAVE READ MANY COMPLAINTS ON MULITPLE DIFFERENT FORUMS COMPLAINING OF THE SAME ISSUE ON THE SAME MAKE, YEAR AND MODEL! I HONESTLY BELIEVE THIS SHOULD BE RECALLED AND HOPE THAT ONE OF YOUR TECHNICIANS SERIOUSLY LOOK INTO THIS BEFORE SOMEONE GETS SERIOUSLY HURT!

THESE CAR MAKERS NEED TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR PRODUCT.

THE DEALER (FAULKNER NISSAN, 3925 PAXTON STREET, HARRISBURG, PA 17111, (717) 558-8220) PERFORMED SEVERAL DIAGNOSTIC TESTS AND REPAIRS PER TSB: 0918A, SUCH AS REPLACED THE VALVE BODY ASSEMBLY PER A CONSUMER AFFAIRS CASE, REPLACED THE CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (CVT) CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY, ONE COOLANT RING, ONE GASKET, THE OIL PAN SEAL LIP, RESET THE FLUID LEVEL, AND OTHER REPAIRS; HOWEVER, THEY FAILED TO PROVIDE A PERMANENT REMEDY. IN ADDITION, IT WAS STATED THAT THE TSB: 14002A REPAIR OF THE OIL COOLER KIT AND THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT INFORMED THE DEALER THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN THE CVT WARRANTY EXTENSION; HOWEVER, THE DEALER INDICATED THAT THE REPAIRS WERE NOT RELATED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND STATED THAT THE DEALER FAILED TO PROVIDE A PERMANENT REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT ISSUED A TRANSMISSION RECALL, BUT ISSUED EIGHT TSBS FOR THE POWER TRAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,449.

SINCE THEN WE HAVE DRIVEN IT VERY LITTLE, BUT IT JOLTS REGULARLY WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME WE HAVE EXPERIENCED SUCH SYMPTOMS AND THE SECOND TRANSMISSION IN THIS VEHICLE. THE ORIGINAL TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED AT 69273 MILES, VEHICLE NOW HAS129000.

ON A RESENT TRIP(JULY /2015) TO ALABAMA ON I-65 TRAVELING AT SPEEDS ON 70+ MY CAR STARTED TO DECELERATE TO DOWN IT WAS NEAR 50 MILES PER HOUR, I PULLED OFF HIGHWAY AND TURNED MY CAR OFF. I HAVE CHECKED TO MAKE SURE IT IS NOT OVER HEATING, WHICH IT IS NOT. THE TEMP. GAUGE IS BELOW THE HALF MARK AND THE RPM GAUGE WILL NOT MOVE PAST 2.5. ALSO, ON THIS TRIP I NOTICED THAT ANY SLIGHT HILL GOING UP IT WOULD HAVE TROUBLE PULLING AND START TO DECELERATE THEN ONCE I GOT UP THIS HILL IT WOULD ACCELERATE TO 80+ MILES PER HR. I HAVE READ QUITE A FEW COMPLAINTS ON THIS SITE CONCERNING THE SAME THINGS ARE HAPPENING WHEN TRAVELING LONG HIGHWAY TRIPS . THIS MUST BE TAKEN CARE OF BY NISSAN BEFORE SOMEONE DIES OR SERIOUSLY INJURED.

I'VE ALREADY REPLACE MY TRANSMISSION IN APRIL 2013 AND NOW MY ENGINE LIGHTS IS ON, TOOK IT TO NISSAN AND THEY SAY IT'S MY TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY. I JUST HIT 126,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE AND OF COURSE MY EXTENDED WARRANTY EXPIRES AT 120,000. NISSAN NEEDS TO SERIOUSLY CONSIDER A RECALL ON THIS ISSUE BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT (IF IT HASN'T HAPPEN ALREADY).

AFTER DRIVING NEARLY 50 MILES ON THE HIGHWAY, I GOT OFF THE EXIT AND STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN. ONCE IT WAS CLEAR I TRIED TO ACCELERATE BUT DUE TO SOME KIND OF POWER LOSS THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT MOVE. THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES SINCE I'VE HAD THIS CAR AND EACH TIME I CALL THE DEALERSHIP THEY CLAIM TO NOT HAVE HEARD OF THIS EVER HAPPENING. IT EVEN HAPPENED ON A TRIP FROM TN TO SC. THIS IS A SERIOUS PROBLEM AND IS EXTREMELY DANGEROUS WHEN DRIVING IN HEAVY TRAFFIC ON THE INTERSTATE AND CONGESTED CITY STREETS. I AM NERVOUS ABOUT TAKING THE CAR ON TRIPS LONGER THAN 30-45 MINUTES LONG. THERE IS ALSO AN ISSUE WHERE THE TPMS LIGHT COMES ON AND STAYS ON FOR DAYS. WHEN I HAVE IT CHECKED OUT, I'M USUALLY TOLD THAT THE AIR PRESSURE IS GOOD AND THAT THE LIGHT IS JUST MALFUNCTIONING. WE WERE DRIVING BACK HOME WHEN MY HUSBAND NOTICED THAT THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE ABOVE 65 MPH. THIS OCCURRED ABOUT HALFWAY HOME, SO ABOUT 200 MILES INTO OUR DRIVE BACK HOME (OF THE 350 MILE TOTAL). THE CAR WAS NOT OVERHEATED, NOR WAS IT MAKING NOISE. HE WOULD PUT HIS FOOT DOWN ALL THE WAY ON THE ACCELERATOR, AS IF HE WANTED TO GO FULL SPEED AND IT WOULD NOT RESPOND. THERE WEREN'T ANY WARNING LIGHTS LIT UP ON THE CONSOLE, AND IT WAS NOT OVERHEATED. WE IMMEDIATELY CALLED OUR LOCAL HONDA DEALER AND EXPLAINED THE PROBLEM WE WERE HAVING. THEY SAID WE COULD TAKE THE CAR INTO THEM, BUT WE WOULD HAVE TO PAY $150 JUST FOR THE INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE, AND THEY CONFIRMED THERE WASN'T A RECALL SO WE WOULD ALSO HAVE TO FOOT THE BILL FOR THE REPAIRS. WE STOPPED TO EAT AND CALM OUR NERVES AND GOT BACK ON THE ROAD. WHEN WE GOT BACK IN THE CAR, THE PROBLEM DID NOT START UP AGAIN UNTIL A FEW MONTHS LATER, DURING OUR NEXT LONG DRIVE AWAY FROM HOME, AND HAVE AVOIDED TAKING IT ON LONG TRIPS SINCE THEN. PROBLEM OCCURRED WITHOUT WARNING MORE 20 TIMES. TOOK ROGUE TO ECONOMY NISSAN TO REPAIR PROBLEM. THEY REPLACED DIP STICK AND DRAINED OFF SOME TRANSMISSION FLUID AND STATED THIS WOULD CORRECT WHAT THEY SAID WAS A TRANSMISSION FLUID OVERHEATING PROBLEM. JULY 2014: ON ANOTHER CROSS COUNTRY TRIP PROBLEM RE-OCCURRED. WENT TO DAVE SOLON NISSAN IN PUEBLO COLO. THEY ADVISED NOT TO CONTINUE DRIVING ROGUE UNTIL A TRANSMISSION COOLER KIT WAS INSTALLED. THIS PART WAS ON PERPETUAL BACK ORDER. IN REALITY WE WERE INFORMED THAT AT THAT TIME THERE WAS NO FIX FOR THIS PROBLEM. BECAUSE OF OUR SCHEDULE, WE TRADED THE ROGUE IN FOR A USED NISSAN PATHFINDER. I FIRST EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF POWER IN MY VEHICLE WHILE STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT. WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN I STARTED TO GO, EVEN WITH THE GAS PEDAL PUSHED ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR THE CAR WOULD BARELY MOVE. THE ENGINE WOULD REV, BUT THE CAR BARELY HAD ANY POWER. I DROVE IT STRAIGHT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I BOUGHT IT (HAYES CHRYSLER IN GAINESVILLE) THE STATED IT WAS THEY THOUGH THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND SENT IT TO THE CARRIAGE NISSAN GARAGE. AFTER HAVING IT THERE FOR A FEW DAYS THE TECHNICIAN SAID HE COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM! I LEFT AND BEFORE I COULD EVEN GET 15 MILES DOWN THE ROAD I WAS GOING APPROXIMATELY 60MPH, WHEN ALL THE SUDDEN I STARTED LOSING SPEED. REGARDLESS OF THE FACT THAT I HAD THE GAS PEDAL TOO THE FLOOR! I TURNED AROUND AND TOOK IT STRAIGHT TO NISSAN, HOWEVER IN THE LAST 10 MINUTES OF MY DRIVE TO THE SERVICE SHOP THE PROBLEM STOPPED! THEY KEPT IT FOR ANOTHER DAY AND STILL COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AND THEY STATED THAT IT WAS MOST LIKELY THE ABS SENOR THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. WE REPLACED THE SENSOR AND I THOUGHT ALL THE PROBLEMS HAD BEEN SOLVED! WRONG!!!! THERE HAVE BEEN 3 INSTANCES WERE I HAVE HAD THE CRUISE CONTROL SET WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE INTERSTATE, AND ALL OF THE SUDDEN I START LOSING SPEED! MY 2008 NISSAN ROGUE HAS A TENDENCY TO LOSE POWER ON THE HIGHWAY AFTER BEING DRIVEN FOR OVER A LONG PERIOD OF TIME AT A CONSTANT SPEED, USUALLY ABOUT 45 MINUTES TO AN HOUR AT 75 MILES AN HOUR. THE VEHICLE WILL START MY MAKING A WEIRD WHISTLING OR WHINING NOISE THEN AFTER THAT YOU CANNOT ACCELERATE IT'LL BE STUCK AT WHATEVER SPEED YOUR GOING. WHEN I COME ACROSS A BRIDGE OR A HILL IT'LL SLOW DOWN A BIT THEN ACCELERATE ONCE I'M GOING DOWNHILL THEN STOP AT A SPECIFIC MPH, NO MATTER HOW MUCH I PRESS ON THE GAS IT WILL NOT GO ANY FURTHER. WHEN I OFF THE HIGHWAY AND COME TO A COMPLETE STOP AND TRY TO TAKE OFF AGAIN IT WILL NOT RESPOND RIGHT AWAY THEN IT WILL TAKE OFF WITH ME AS I'M PRESSING THE GAS, ALMOST RESULTING IN ME RUNNING INTO OTHER VEHICLES SEVERAL TIMES. I STARTED TO NOTICE THE PROBLEM WHEN TRYING TO PULL OUT ON TO A BUSY ROAD THAT WAS ON A SLIGHT HILL. FOR SOME REASON THE CAR WOULD NOT GO WHEN YOU HIT THE GAS. AFTER A WHILE OF DOING THIS A LIGHT CAME ON AND I TOOK IT TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT. WHATEVER THEY DID SEEM TO HAVE FIXED THE PROBLEM OF THE CAR NOT ACCELERATING WHEN ON A HILL. BUT THE PROBLEM STILL REMAINED THAT IF YOU DROVE FOR SO LONG (5-10 MIN) ON THE INTERSTATE 65+ MPH THEN CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP THE CAR AGAIN WOULD NOT ACCELERATE FOR A FEW MINUTES (I SAT THROUGH A STOP LIGHT AND A HALF TRYING TO GET THE CAR GOING). I THINK THIS IS RELATED TO THE FUNNY SOUND THE CAR MAKES WHEN STEPPING ON THE GAS. ANY WAYS I TOOK THE CAR IN TO SEE WHAT WAS WRONG AS THIS COULD CAUSE A PROBLEM IF IT ALLOWS YOU TO ROLL HALFWAY INTO AN INTERSECTION BUT THEN WILL NOT ACCELERATE. AFTER DRIVING FOR ABOUT 45 MINUTES ON THE HIGHWAY, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER AND BEGAN DECELERATING RAPIDLY. THIS CAR HAS ALWAYS HAD ACCELERATION AND DECELERATION PROBLEMS SINCE I BOUGHT IT AND NO WARNING LIGHTS EVER COME ON. THE FIRST TIME THE CAR BROKE DOWN WAS ON THE FIRST ROAD TRIP I TOOK IN THE CAR. IN 2012 AS I WAS DRIVING TO ATLANTA, GEORGIA AND THE CAR BROKE COMPLETELY DOWN IN BIRMINGHAM, ALABAMA. I HAD TO GET A LOANER FROM THE LOCAL DEALERSHIP IN BIRMINGHAM TO COMPLETE MY TRIP. THE CVT TRANSMISSION IS A VERY, VERY DANGEROUS TECHNOLOGY AND IT SHOULD BE RECALLED AND A CLASS ACTION SUIT SHOULD BE INITIATED AGAINST NISSAN. NISSAN HAS EXTENDED THE WARRANTY FROM 60000 TO 120000 IN ALL CVT TRANSMISSION VEHICLES. WHY WOULD THEY DO THIS IF THEY DO NOT THINK THERE IS A PROBLEM. *TR

WHILE ME AND MY CHILD WERE TRAVELING UPHILL ON A BUSY FREEWAY, I NOTICED THE CAR WAS DECELERATING. NO MATTER HOW HARD I PRESSED ON THE PEDAL TO INCREASE THE SPEED, THE CAR CONTINUED TO SLOW DOWN. MANY CARS BEHIND US HAD TO SWERVE FROM HITTING US AND HONKED FOR US TO MOVE OUT OF THEIR WAY. UNFORTUNATELY, IT WAS BEYOND MY CONTROL AND THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE. A COUPLE OF GUYS HAD TO MOVE OUR VEHICLE OUT OF HARMS WAY. IT WAS VERY STRESSFUL AND DANGEROUS. I'M SO GLAD WE WERE NOT HIT BY ANOTHER VEHICLE. I ENDED UP REPLACING THAT TRANSMISSION WITH A USED LOW MILEAGE TRANSMISSION WHICH WORKED FOR A WHILE. IT IS GOING ON A YEAR AND I'VE BEEN TOLD THE CVT TRANSMISSION IS SLIPPING AGAIN. I'VE ALREADY SPENT THOUSANDS ON THIS PART ALONE. IS THERE ANYTHING ANYONE CAN DO ABOUT THIS FAULTY PRODUCT. THE CAR WOULD LOSE ACCELERATION WHEN DRIVING AND ALSO WHEN STARTING TO GO FROM BEING STOPPED. FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED WAS DRIVING AROUND 60 MPH ON HIGHWAY AND THE GAS PEDAL WAS FULLY TO THE FLOOR AND THE CAR WOULD NOT INCREASE IN SPEED. THE CAR LOST SPEED AND DECREASED DOWN TO 45 MPH. WHEN GETTING OFF THE HIGHWAY AT THE END OF THE EXIT THE CAR WOULD NOT MOVE WHEN PRESSING ON THE GAS. 5 SECONDS LATER THE CAR THRUSTED INTO THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD AS POWER KICKED BACK IN. AFTER SEVERAL PHONE CALLS TO NISSAN AND TRIPS TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION AT AROUND 60,000 MILES. CARE WAS GOOD FOR ABOUT 8 MONTHS BUT STARTED HAVING SAME ISSUE. HAVE HAD THE CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP 10 - 12 TIMES WITH SAME ISSUE AND TO THIS DAY IT HAS NOT BEEN FIXED. THEY USUALLY STATE THEY CAN NOT REPLICATE THE ISSUE. TEST DROVE THE CAR WITH THEIR TOP MECHANIC AND GOT THE ACCELERATION ISSUE TO HAPPEN. THEY MECHANIC SAID NISSAN IS WELL AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND HE DRAINED FLUIDS SAYING THE LEVEL WAS TO HIGH. 6 MONTHS LATER SAME ISSUES AGAIN. TRIP AFTER TRIP TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY SAY THEY CAN'T REPLICATE THE ISSUE AND SEND US ON OUR WAY. LAST TIME 3 OTHER CUSTOMERS WERE AT THE DEALERSHIP WITH SAME ISSUE. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL. *TR

ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING ON FREEWAY OR AROUND TOWN ROGUE WOULD NOT ACCELERATE PROPERLY FROM STOP. PEDAL WOULD BE PRESSED DOWN BUT CAR WOULD BARELY INCH FORWARD. ALSO, TWICE AS I WAS JUST DRIVING HOME FROM WORK THIS SYMPTOM STARTED AND THE CAR JUST STOPPED RUNNING ALTOGETHER. HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO MY MECHANIC AND HE TOLD ME I HAD RAN OUT OF GAS BOTH TIMES. I KNOW THE GAGE READ 1/4 TANK BOTH TIMES. THE ACCELERATION ISSUES ALWAYS SEEM TO BEGIN WHEN THE GAS IS GETTING BELOW HALF EMPTY. IT SEEMS TO BE THE SAME FUEL SENDER ISSUE OTHERS HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT, AND MAYBE IT ALSO SOMEHOW AFFECTS HOW THE TRANSMISSION PERFORMS. EITHER WAY MY FAMILY AND I HAVE ONLY OWNED THIS ROGUE FOR A YEAR AND IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE OUR NEWER RELIABLE CAR. VERY UNHAPPY. THIS INVOLVES A NISSAN ROGUE S 2008 WE PURCHASED NEW FROM THE DEALER. AT APPROXIMATELY 55,000 MILES WHILE ON A TRIP TO DESTIN, FL OUR CVT TRANSMISSION BEGAN TO MALFUNCTION ON THE HIGHWAY. IT CAUSED CAR TO LOSE SPEED, NO LONGER PULL, IDLE ERRATICALLY, AND NOT BE ABLE TO GET UP TO SPEEDS OVER 55 MILES AN HOUR. IT WOULD ALSO NOT PULL OFF FROM STOPS BUT RATHER JUST COAST OUT INTO THE MIDDLE OF AN INTERSECTION, LEAVING THE DRIVER WITHOUT CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE TO GET OUT OF THE WAY OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC. WE WERE INSTRUCTED BY THE NISSAN DEALERSHIP TO LIMP THE CAR BACK TO ATLANTA SO THEY COULD REPLACE THE CVT TRANSMISSION AND STATED THEY KNEW IT WAS A KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THOSE PARTICULAR CVT'S. ONCE WE GOT THE CAR BACK, NISSAN EXPLAINED THAT THEY HAD INSTALLED A NEWER MODEL OF CVT IN OUR CAR AND THAT IT WOULD NOT HAPPEN AGAIN. NOW, JUNE 23, 2012, OUR CAR IS BACK AT THE DEALER WITH THE SAME ISSUE. THE CAR NOW HAS 102,00 MILES. THIS TIME WE ARE ON OUR WAY TO CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE WHEN THE CVT BEGINS TO ACT UP. SYMPTOMS INCLUDED LOSS OF POWER, LOSS OF SPEED AND IDLE LEAVING US UNABLE TO SWITCH LANES AND GET OFF HIGHWAY DUE TO LACK OF PULL AND POWER. THE CARS IDLE OR RPM BEGINS TO JUMP ERRATICALLY AND REDLINING CAUSING THE CAR TO LUNGE FORWARD UNCONTROLLABLY AND THEN LOSE POWER BACK AND FORTH. NOW IMAGINE THIS ALL WHILE YOUR WIFE AND THREE DAUGHTERS (AGES 9, 4, AND 9 MONTHS) ARE IN THE BACK SEAT. VIRTUALLY HAVING NO CONTROL OVER THE CAR WHILE OTHER VEHICLES SPEED BY AT 70 MPH TRYING TO AVOID SMASHING YOU TO PIECES. THIS TIME THERE IS NO LIMPING IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP. BARELY ABLE TO MAKE IT OFF THE HIGHWAY, THE CVT IS SEVERELY DAMAGED AND INOPERABLE. CVT FLUID IS DRAINING RAPIDLY OUT OF SEVERAL DIFFERENT LOCATIONS. AS WELL, THE ENTIRE BODY OF THE CAR IS COATED IN TRANS FLUID AND SMOKE BILLOWING OUT OF THE HOOD DUE TO THE FLUID COATING THE ENGINE TOO. *TR

3 TIMES NOW MY 2008 NISSAN ROGUE HAS HAD ACCELERATION PROBLEMS ON THE HIGHWAY. IT HAPPENED THE 1ST TIME ON AUG. 20, 2011 THEN AGAIN ON SEPT. 5, 2011. BOTH TIMES I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY, AT 60-65MPH WHEN SUDDENLY, THE CAR WOULD NOT GO OVER 40MPH EVEN WHEN THE GAS PEDEL WAS FLOORED. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 NISSAN ROGUE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE REVERSING FROM A RESIDENTIAL GARAGE, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED INDEPENDENTLY. THE VEHICLE STOPPED MOVING WHEN IT CRASHED INTO SEVERAL OBJECTS ON THE ROAD, INTO A TREE AND THEN STALLED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON TWO OCCASIONS. WHEN THE SECOND INCIDENT OCCURRED THE DRIVER RECEIVED INJURIES TO THE BACK AND WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE HOSPITAL. THE POLICE WERE NOT NOTIFIED AND A REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY A DEALER WHO INFORMED HIM THAT THERE WAS NO EVIDENCE OF A FAILURE DURING DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 28,835.
